I think they should update afk crows to just show their aura at 3 crows. I know it's insane to think but sometimes as killer I'm so focused on other things that I don't even realize they're afk, even as I'm really annoyed by the noises. Maybe a true sight aura read that pierces lockers?
Making them auto dc into a bot at some point would make sense though.

People were already getting good at dodging it from afar. This massive HUD indicator is unneeded. Like you can already see it through walls, what is with the handholding

I really wish I could understand what y'all were thinking, but it genuinely just feels like not one person on the dev team actually plays killer or even understands what makes playing killer fun.
It is not really that hard to understand: The mode was extremely unpopular to play as Survivor, mainly because the gimmick of the mode (no information, limited visibility) only applied for the Survivors, but not the Killer, since Killer players were just using Killers who can bypass this (e.g. Legion or Doctor, as easy examples).
Furthermode due to the Darkness, camping and tunneling were really easy. This all resulted in Lights Out not coming back for almost 2 years, despite the other modifiers (Chaos Shuffle, 2v8) coming back on a regular basis.
So the Devs decided to do more for Survivors in Lights Out. In the end, those modifiers are in a constant Beta phase, so the Devs are testing out what works and what does not work. In the next iteration (if there is one), we will see more changes done or maybe things removed.
But in the end, it is just a fun gamemode which should not be taken too seriously. Which Killer players also said in its first iterations…
I'm mostly commenting purely about how the design makes no sense, and is not fun for killer IMO. I'm not necessarily trying to win, I'm playing Trapper and other random killers to try and spook people and have fun. It's really difficult to do that when the gens go at a breakneck speed. Frankly, after playing both killer and survivor in the mode, it's harder to see on Killer than Survivor haha.
But in general, this event coming right after the anniversary which was ALSO not fun to play as killer… idk, it just feels really weird.

Boons are by far too weak to warrant such a change. Also the comparisons between Boon and Hex are totally stupid if you do not understand that Hexes do something (mostly) the entire time while Boons basically just do something once a game, if certain prerequistes are met. Also is the time invest most likely be better used on a gen than looking for a useful boons and setting it up.
How do boons do something once a game when certain prereqs are met??? That's literally only true MAYBE for exponential…
I think people are missing the point too that survivors can CHOOSE where the boon goes and relight it every single time. So for example, they can put a boon at the top of the stairwell on Midwich and affect multiple floors and it's incredibly inconvenient for killer to snuff.

Boons are not strong enough to warrant such a Nerf. Plus, every Boon which is set up helps the KIller, since it is time wasted not on Gens.
The new Boon is really, really bad. If you are saying it is good or "not bad", you are straight up wrong. It only works in Areas where the Killer is patrolling, which means that they can snuff it quite easily.
Comparing Boons and Hexes is still nonsense. Only because both are shiny Totems does not make them compareable. Yes, Killers cannot relight their Hexes. But they are stronger than Boons, map-wide AND they dont need to set them up.
The only thing I agree on is that Boons should not work on multiple Floors. The concept of Boons is that they should be snuffed quickly and this might not happen if they are on a different Floor, but still applying to other Floors. If Boons are ever buffed, they should also nerf this aspect.
Well, that's what I'm saying. They should just make boons stronger and then make them single-use IMO. If you get rid of the constant relighting aspect, you're free to make much cooler Boon perks for survivor.
But yeah, the multiple floor things is so hard. I just had a team using the new perk on Midwich and it was a nightmare to deal with. I was using call of brine and lay waste, and still after kicking a gen they were able to pop it so quickly even while I was patrolling it.
I suppose if the totem placement was worse, it wouldn't have been as miserable, but they were able to place the totems in such a way that it took me an insane amount of time to get rid of them, which I guess would also be fixed by them being single floor use.

Yeah, but this is the same exact level of choice Survivors have. Survivors get to pick their Item, Killers get to pick their power. It is really the same.
And it is leagues better than previous Chaos Shuffle events where people only brought the strongest stuff they could choose (+ a Map Offering, but those are not an issue anymore).
It's not the same because some Killers have addons which quite literally nerf their power or make it unusable…

You also get the abandon option if no gens have been completed for 10 minutes.

I agree! The visual design of the event is super impressive and a lot better than the old blue and gold IMHO. The masks are PEAK and I'm excited at the prospect of seeing new masks next year. I'm not entirely upset at the killer/survivor imbalance because killers are real strong as is IMHO; alas that doesn't make it less of a shame that we got the bare minimum interaction for the event. Survivors really did get all the goodies this time around and for the most part that's okay! But hopefully the next iteration will improve upon what we've experienced so far.
The cake issue is the only thing that really bothers me and I feel like this sentiment could be shared amongst most of us here - we would be much less upset at the unbalanced event if we could just stack cake like we used to. We should have all seen what BHVR has said about it by now, we understand that they don't want us to have >500 cakes from every/any anniversary. Respectfully, that is dumb… It's such a non issue and beyond frustrating."for the most part that's okay" - it's really not. This level of imbalance is insane. It's not even the power level, necessarily, because the poison can be strong on certain killers. But it's NOT FUN.
-
Exactly. There's no reason why you should be able to throw every pallet on the map and chain them to windows again and again and again without ever running out! It's baffling. And then like you said, they didn't even do it effectively to maps that needed it.
-
@colossusqw said:
The pallet changes helped with absolutely nothing. They didn't affect the killers that needed balancing like nurse or blight at all, since what makes them strong is exactly being able to bypass a lot of the pallets with mobility, meanwhile the grand majority of killers that already struggled have been overwhelmingly negatively affected by it.
It's a bad change that only makes already weak killers weak and does nothing to balance strong killers.100% agree. I don't WANT to play Nurse, Krasue, etc.
But now if I play Sadako … genuinely what am I to do? Trapper? Laughable. It feels really sad.

No. Your suggestion is basically "make the match a 3v1". The Obsession would become completly useless because this one is either always busy with the totems or useless on a generator and gets ignored by the killer (no reason to chase the Obsession, no reason to hook the Obsession, no reason to do anything with it). It is alreday so friendly from the perk that the survivors have to pop a generator to make the Obsession useless instead of you as the killer must hook the Obsession to make this one useless.
This perk also pairs extremly well with Pentimento and with your suggestion you would make the combination of them stupid overpower: The Obsession is completly useless and when they try to become useful, the Obsession punishes their teammate with Pentimento. And then imagen this in a SoloQ. Obsession players would dc once they see the Icon of the Perk in their HUD.
The Perk is already good because you can ignore one survivor and make this one temporarly useless for the team. I play the combination of Wretched Fate, Blood Favour, Undying, and Pentimento and despite beeing a hexbuild, it is really strong because survivors cannot ignore these totem and once they are cleansed, Pentimento shows up and they get delayed even more.
tbh this is just a terrible opinion imo and I disagree, but I respect the feeling of this because of how dying light often feels. That said, I think adding something like "when a totem is spawned using this perk, the obsession changes" would be sufficient to mitigate this feeling as I suggested.

@ReverseVelocity said:
Continuously slapping a +33% repair penalty on one person would be extremely annoying to face.
Could add to the perk something like "when the totem is cleansed, the obsession changes to a random survivor" or something like that.

SM's design enables that to be viable.
Plus, Overcharge's skill check is bad design. It's entirely RNG, as shown by Eternal missing skill checks.
Also, that's like saying, "The Survivors aren't at fault that MFT gives a 3% speed boost." That's just a really bad argument.
Eternal only missed skillchecks because of skull merchant's addon that mutes the skillcheck warning.

#########, is this real? Could a Dev confirm this?
yes, it's real sadly.
"after performing the damage generator action, this perk activates. While this perk is active, the next generator you damage..."
Basically, you kick a gen which activates the perk, and after you kick a gen again the perk is applied to the gen. Not only that, but every gen you kick after the second gen, machine learning SWAPS to. So if you use this perk, you cannot kick gens anymore after the second gen unless you're trying to move the perk to a new gen.
If it needs to be this way, I think it shouldn't be a second kick that applies the perk, it should have a new interaction like the "snuff boon" interaction, where you press space bar at a generator and it applies the perk.
-
Yes, I was watching Bronx try to do it tonight, and I was FLABBERGASTED that it requires two gen kicks... EVERY TIME YOU WANT TO USE IT.

Feast Upon Hubris
Do not taunt death. When a survivor remains within the exit zone for longer than 20/1510 seconds after the gate has been opened, they are marked by the Entity. The Survivor cannot see this mark, and the killer receives a loud noise notification. (If the exit gate is blocked, this perk does not activate until the Gate is unblocked.) If the survivor leaves the exit zone for 10/15/20 seconds, the mark fades.
When a marked survivor attempts to escape through the exit gate, a dark wind blasts them from the exit zone and they are exposed for 10/15/20 seconds.
"It is your Pride that will be your undoing. Go ahead. Door's open."

Architecture of the Fog
The entity has studied the hatch's design, carefully emulating it to fight against its power. When the hatch would spawn, a second hatch also spawns within x radius of the nearest survivor. If a survivor has a key, it spawns closest to them instead. The killer can see the aura of this second hatch. If a survivor attempts to leave through this hatch, the entity's claws burst forth, causing nearby survivors to scream and reveal their location to the killer.
While the second hatch is open, the actual hatch is quieter by 25/50/75%.

CREUSA'S CURSE (Killer Perk)
Icon: a hex totem with burning eyes, the skull wearing a spiked crown
A gift that burned in the face of love, of jealousy, of a woman scorned. The memory of this curse ignites all dull totems on the map for 80/100/120 seconds at the start of the Trial, covering your hexes in a veil of fire. If a survivor attempts to cleanse a totem affected by Creusa's Curse, they are stunned for 1/1.5/2 seconds. If that totem was a real hex totem, the survivor's aura is revealed to the killer for 4 seconds.
"Let no one think of me as humble or weak or passive; let them understand I am of a different kind: dangerous to my enemies, loyal to my friends. To such a life glory belongs."
-
Inspired by the cursed garb Medea gave to Jason's wife, which burned her to death, I think a perk like this could help with an issue I've noticed lately of totems spawning and getting insta-gibbed due to bad spawns. It seems very bad lately, and I think this perk could counter it. Currently I copied the timing from corrupt intervention, but given it has other effects, it could be possible to reduce it since 120 seconds is a long time.

I'm unsure, honestly! It only fixed itself on Charlotte after I did some quick attacks, and only fixed on victor when I walked directly up to charlotte. I haven't been having this bug anymore though, so maybe it was hotfixed?

it's supposed to be like that, twins have an anti camping mechanic that doesn't allow charlotte to switch or unbind victor when you are close to a hooked survivor
So that’s what I thought - but it was happening when I wasn’t near a hooked survivor. The option wasn’t coming back
