Then it would mean that there would be Killer favored Perks (builds)
Like Bamboozle on Bubba, Corrupt on most Killers, Sloppy on most Killers
Idk what you're saying lmao

yeah because it worked so well last time and hasn’t totally made the game worse no meta shake up is needed to be honest they need to revert perks on both sides cause the mega shake up did more damage than good and by nerfing more perks to the ground it’s just making the game feel even worse just because there are good perks does not result in them needing a nerf
You loved the old Dead Hard didn't you?

iron will is only really strong on like 3 survivors. and even on those survivors you still have scratch marks and blood.
even before the nerf it was the least problematic meta perk
Its still one of the stronger survivor perks. Its either Iron Will or you moan every 3 seconds or something.

Lost me as iron will and self care
Do I have to explain why Iron Will is powerful? Self Care I get but it's up there because it's still in heavy circulation from what I can see.
But Iron Will... 😒 cmon

Not nerfed to the ground, but nerfed, sure.
But I do agree somewhat with this philosophy even if I wouldn't say all the perks you listed necessarily need to be nerfed to achieve this goal. At the very least Self-Care and Pop don't really need more nerfs. And Eruption is getting nerfed in a few days regardless. But the reason this is a good idea is because a lot of the meta perks are meta simply because of the type of perk it is and there's no real way to bring every weaker perk on each side up to that level without making some of them busted. Strong perks on each side are already too impactful as it is and this effectively addresses that. Buffing weak perks up to the level of the current meta would just exacerbate that issue.
You understand

@Xernoton said:
That is an interesting idea. I agree that the extremes on both sides should be toned down. For example a killer should not be able to hold a 3 gen for 40+ minutes because their perks regress the gen every time a survivor made a bit of progress. Also survivors should not be able to get out of 4+ bad situations back to back with their perks.
I'm not exactly sure how the balancing would work though because the balance we have right now is largely achieved through perks.
Someone understood what I said lol. Too many people are thinking "Damn you really think THIS perk is powerful!?".
I just want to put the idea out there.

I'm kinda blown away that you think BBQ, self care, and pop goes the weasel are among the "all powerful" perks. Theyre not even considered strong perks.
Self care is the only one I'll give you.

@Firellius said:
Problem is that people have no idea what an A tier perk is.
On the survivor side, we have perks like Dead Hard, Sprint Burst, Iron Will, Windows of Opportunity, Adrenaline, Self-Care, Prove Thyself, etc.,
On the killer side, we have perks like BBQ, Eruption, Deadlock, Pain Res., STBFL, Lethal Pursuer, Pop Goes the Weasel, etc.
Case in point.
Listing Deadlock was more of a way of pointing out a meta. BBQ gives killers great info for when they need it the most, which makes it powerful. It's definitely not OP tho.
Idk why you wouldn't consider Iron Will and Windows of Opportunity powerful lmao.
Self Care is not great anymore, but its still in heavy circulation. That's the only one where I'll say you've pointed out a flaw in my post.

I hella disagree. If they're not some of the most powerful perks, then explain to me why they appear so much. I said POWERFUL, not OP.

@Yippiekiyah said:
There shouldnt be any S tier perks on either side. Games should be won by a players skill and not what perks they chose to bring.
Precisely. I have NO idea why the others are claiming the perks I listed aren't super powerful. The fact that they appear in matches as frequently as they do speaks to their power alone. Obviously there's more to it tho.

I just played a few matches as Nemesis. I used no perks and addons because I really want to learn how to play this killer to the absolute best. Whenever I try to learn a new killer I will play as nice as possible. I don't camp, I don't tunnel, I don't slug for longer than 10 seconds. I understand that playing like this will cost me a majority of matches and I'm fine with that.
What I don't understand is why every single team I go against has at least 1 jerk that will either dc, tell me to end myself or teabag me in the exit gate with his entire squad before telling me how bad of a killer I am. Don't get me wrong, I've somewhat gotten used to this kind of stuff and I don't care about that too much. However, I've tried to find a way to make everyone happy in the game while still having fun myself. That didn't work out.
So tell me: What do you want me to do? What does it take for survivors to not be awful?
Edit: My choice of words isn't ideal. I made it sound like it's every survivor, when it's not. There are definitely nice people also on both sides. Please note, I did not intent to make this an 'us-vs-them' discussion in any way.
Some people suck
Also the survivor community has blown chunks recently

I honestly wasn't expecting to see the such negative reception the new killer is getting. From what I can gather a lot of it has to do with a perceived bad design, peoples expectations being way too high, and supposedly bad gameplay. Has any other killer received this type of attention in the past? I'm fairly new to the DBD community so a lot of this discourse is new to me.
I think this is a special case. This killer literally has NOTHING. While I do like her power, its not a strong power. So okay, maybe she has an interesting power. But that's absolutely it.

Wow this is just hate bait. Ask me to elaborate if you want me to and Ill do it later but rn I can't give this more effort.

and dead hard, circle of healing and windows of opportunity are fine too. There are no problems with these perks. What would balance the game though is nerfing Scourge hook pain resonance. I also like the any means necessary buff it actually is useful now which brings more perk viability on the table.
Finally someone says it. People want a nerf until it's just "a little too cruel"
I still see people asking for old deadhard back. I'm always like "are you effing serious!?"
Pain Res could be better though but even then I think its effects are usually earned....
People will still cry and say "Deadhard is a third health state" even though it does take some precision to use to a certain degree. Newsflash killers, and this is coming from someone who plays both sides relatively equally nowadays, just bait it out.
Circle of Healing can be annoying if Killers don't commit to chases or if it's near endgame
Windows is only good if you can still loop what it shows you well and not fall for fakes.
Also, people need to stop asking for things to simply be "deleted", it's annoying, and doesn't leave room for improvement if it's possible.

The "Bubba leaving" leak was a sting to root out the leaker. Basically they made it look like Bubba was leaving, so they could get the leaker to out himself by spreading the info.
So now DbDLeaks has no one on the inside.
My guy watched Scott Jund's conspiracy video and was straight up captivated lmao

Yeah, there's a fair amount of issues that make The Knight lack luster
- Add-on dependency is extreme on The Knight, There's three addons that change the quality of your guards/power that are so good, you're significantly weaker if you don't (Map of the Realm, Dried Horsemeat, Call of Arms). More the first two than the third.
- Clunky power, specifically in a loop. You are unable to use your power most times when dealing with a pallet. A little counter intuitive when your power can break pallets, but you can't break them at all up close.
- Weak rare/very rare addons. Not that they're bad, but they're a little too niche or weak to be considered in their rarity (one rare addon just causes hemorrhage, another one causes blindness). Nothing's wrong with Knight's contract as well, it's just my opinion that it incentivizes a not-so-healthy playstyle.
- There's also how guards work at windows and dropped pallets, the massive slowdown is so much that the guard will never hit a survivor as long as he vaults one or more window. If you ever played The Knight on Lery's, you know true pain.
I also believe that there needs to be a second counter to his anti-loop. when you spam your guards in corners to get the hits. The counter is the standard but The Knight usually just waits near the standard, creating a guarantee hit. What that counter can be is probably a vulnerability to his guards if his patrol path is less than 10 meters (aka you're just dropping them down), and they're treated like nemesis zombies (can be pallet stunned and disappear).
I totally agree with you on the addon front especially. His add-ons suck balls lol. I'm on board with your take. 🙂

increase movement speed of guards by 5-10% if he draws patrols further 10 meter away. Decrease knight m/s by 5-10% when a guard is chasing another survivor. The 2vs1 principal is interesting as killer, but premise of 2 killers chasing should mean that your facing 2 weaker killers. Cool concept but knight in particular(main killer) is too strong with his guards when your in the corner of the map but has no effectiveness anywhere else. I think they just failed to balance his 2vs1 in mutiple situations so you get 100% hits in some loops and a completely worthless ability in other cases. Two extremes.
OP post is dumbing the killer power to break pallet is silly and kills knight's design. He is also not meant to control guards either. You play twins if you want the 2 controllable killer experience. I believe their pick-rate is very unpopular at <1%. He is also not meant to have patrolling zombies. You pick Nemesis if you want automatic patrolling zombies(which might worst power in isolation in the game if this was killer's only ability).
I think you're onto something here. But...

I like the idea, but then you’d have people just getting downed by AI alone and that would infuriate the player base. Would feel pretty skill less.
I do agree with Blueberry. We don't want players getting downed by AI alone.
The Knight for sure NEEDS and addon rework. I spent my afternoon playing some Knight rounds just to see if there was something I was missing, and yeah his addons suck except for 2.

Your play style changes are all heavy nerfs.
it’s pretty unanimously agreed on by most the community that he’s weak. The guards don’t waste much time while simultaneously not reliably getting hits. Yeah you can pincer people with them, but between hold w you’re taking as long if not longer to get the hit than many killers anyway. He’s also very addon reliant for a couple while all the rest of his addons being trash.
While I have seen complaints about his addons, I've seen most people still conclude that he's not weak. He's also very annoying. That's the biggest problem. He's another annoying anti-loop-focused killer that isn't fun to go against.
-
@Blueberry said:
I’m confused by all this. You’re wanting to give heavy nerfs to a killer that is already very weak? I started this post expecting to see buff ideas.
I'm curious, why do you think he's weak?
Also, the hardest part of thinking about reworks is to think up ideas that won't nessicarily nerf a killer but will change the play style.
-
Yeah, because the Knight totally needs a buff...
-
@Pulsar said:
Knight is a pretty unfun Killer to play against.
All these changes do is make him worse to play as. They're all horrible changes.
I think he's fine right now, barring bugs.
The hardest part will be to suggest and find changes that will not make The Knight weaker, but will lead him away from the "anti-loop" playstyle he evokes and power

i seriously dont know how knights power design even got through development, having a killer completely dependent on AI is just bad design for both sides.

It's the insistence on designing killers where completely skill-less gameplay leads to success that I aggravating, and they turned that up to the Nth degree with the Knight. What are we doing here? It's an AI power that you click a button to set. There's no aiming or timing or charging. Is this really what we're doing with killers now? This is a horrendous direction to go in a PVP game. Get AI out of this game.
They've been doing it ever since Nemesis I'm pretty sure. Nemesis's power should've always been controlling where zombies go. You can still have the tentacle, but have him able to genuinely control where zombies shamble to every so often. What his tentacle would be to Doctor's Shock, controlling zombies would be to his Static Blast.

The Knight.
He's Artist 2.0 with a dash of Twins.
