the goal of the survivor is to survive. The goal of killer is to kill. I’m always looking for a key for hatch in a chest or something when the doors are so close together or you have a killer who likes to camp both doors. If I’m lucky I’ll find a key and escape through hatch. How do you know what they are doing? lol 😂 and you do get crows for being afk. If they were afk you would know. Holding a game hostage is when you are body blocking someone in a certain area making them unable to proceed. You could go look for those survivors but decide to stay at the doors. It’s kinda your own fault for not playing the game yourself
you're making a lot of assumptions here about doors and such. doors weren't powered and they stopped playing the game essentially.
since they were not injured, nor running, i can't track them by scratch marks nor sounds. as someone else said, they just skulked around the edges crouched, and were switching lockers.
i did in fact hunt them down and after an exceedingly long time i luckily found one in a locker, and then the other in the basement.
as others have said, it is reportable and indeed is holding the game hostage. there should be guards against this. if the survs aren't interacting with anything for a certain period of time (totems, chests, healing, gens, doors, the Killer) they should get idle crows.
-
this is a serious problem with no way to counteract it. it needs to be addressed. ruins the game.
-
Gates should auto regress to the last bulb if not being worked on.
-
oh i love that! yes please add this to blindness!
in general, i think Blindness should be more impactful. no auras, no progress bars, no shared surv info, black vignette.
-
Basekilt Yellow Mori is good in the form of the Finishing Mori.
Mori Offerings should stay, however, and not just become BP bonuses.
Green and Ebony Moris are fine as they are. If you want to ALSO add BP bonuses to them, fine.
Just adjust the Yellow Mori.
Maybe Yellow Mori now has the Green Mori effect. Green Mori is the same but +1. Ebony is all.
-
all i want to do is play that Beholder. XD then i will be happy.
-
nope, never mind, crashed again when doing Pinhead's mori. has to be a lighting issue.
-
Switching back to DX11 seems to work, but crashes on default DX12

but the WHOLE point of perks like kindred and bitter murder are to show an aura when an action (hook/gen completion) is done, what is the point of those perks (outside of seeing other survivors with kindred) if you literally cannot use them because of the bubble without perks like openhanded/lethal pursuer
Kindred you can still see things after the Bubble. it's more for camping Killers.
Bitter Murmur you have a point. it should probably have the duration of aura reading increased.
-
yes!
the 5th slot should be ONLY for Gen Regression/Stalling, and you cannot slot Gen Regression/Stalling in the normal 4 slots. only this 5th slot.
this prevents loadouts of all gen regression/stalling perks.

u like it for what reason
because not everything is supposed to be handed to us. we have to work around inconveniences and adapt.
a big part of the game is dealing with a LACK of information, and sadly they keep reducing that and giving more and more info.
info is king in DbD.
-
Nah, I like it.
-
No, I like it. Deal.
-
Agreed. Please consider more changes. For example:
1) We can lose the big blood splash screen after every completed web.
2) Turn the auto-buy into a toggle so i don't have to press it again for every new web. Press once to turn on auto-buy and press again to turn it off, or it can just run until i run out of BP. this way i can click the button and go make a sandwich until it spends 2mil points. :D

Can confirm that this is not a bug. We are conducting some ongoing tests with some players, and we're always looking to improve the player experience within the game. We will be monitoring the feedback closely on this.
great change. keep it. there's no reason to have that info there and it only leads to weird prejudice issues and lobby skips.
thank you!

counterpoint.
hooks being tied to the killer is much cooler and the others should also get it.
I agree, custom hooks for the Killers!
-
look, we only need to see it ONCE. once we've seen it in full, it should never play again.
ALSO, why do i have to press a button (space or otherwise) to get into the game? just load me in. we both know where i'm going. XD

Alien is ridiculously broken. Fix it or me and everyone I run with all agrees we aren't playing anymore. He hits through windows through pallets and even when crouched BEHIND a pallet. This is the most broken toxic killer I've seen in this game over the years. He sees you and there is no escape, no dodging only 10 seconds until he beats you down. I made an account just to say how much this ######### sucks.
skill issue.

yeah! would be great fun! skins at the least.

yeah, i think the pods tagging could be way more forgiving. someone said if Michael can stalk an ankle, why can't the pod tag your ankle?
and he needs a little haste after a tele. it's too easy to make it to another loop.
that's about it, i think. otherwise he's fine.

You've managed to name every single killer perk that has
Time constraints , Distance requirements, limited activations, can be removed from play (hexes) or the effect is so minimal its not even worth bringing most of the time.
In an attempt to justify a survivor perk that :
Rewards you on the second half of the chase because you got hit, which in turn allows you to make pallets and vaults you shouldn't have, because every 5s you're 0.6m ahead of where you should be (10s = 1.2meters, and so on) therefore resulting in a 20-30 second chase extension that you did not deserve.
EVEN IF you think those killer perks are "unbalanced" a truly honest person wouldn't be defending a blatantly busted survivor perk.
he's also starting from the false premise that Killer perks and Surv perks are equatable in some one to one sense. The gameplay is very different, not the least of which is that we're talking 16 surv perks in play vs. only 4 killer perks.
the Killer objective is also NOT to stop gens from being done. the survs also don't win based on gens being completed. this is a Kill or Escape game. the gens only play a sub role to that, as a lock and time limiter.

There is a downside.
If you place it on a Generator that never gets kicked:
- It never activates and you just complete the Generator, you have to re-earn it.
- It sits there for 2 minutes and does literally nothing; which btw, you cannot make progress on earning another Blast Mine until it has been completely used, so you basically are left with 3 perks.
Killers that do not pressure/regress via Generator kicking make this perk completely useless, and there are many Killers, addons, and perks which can support that as a playstyle (e.g. Corrupt, Deadlock, Hex: Ruin, Jolt, SH: Pain Resonance, etc).
The perk is a huge gamble. And what do you get from it? A stun, that's it. It's not even that helpful in most cases, seeing how other stun perks like Head On allow you to actually coordinate and get massive value from it.
This perk is literally meant to be a joke, something that does nothing but give you a small laugh and that's it, nothing else. It's not even a meta perk per say, seeing how the meta is focused around Sprint Burst/Lithe or Made For This at the moment, and if anything, I would PREFER people bring in Blast Mine over all the sweaty stuff you see, it's effectively a waste of a perk slot.
that is not a downside. XD if you didn't need it, it doesn't matter. and whether it's meta or not, or you get countered, isn't the point.

I've seen it a few times. Killers complaining about Blastmine. Old habits die hard (probably haven't gotten over the kicking meta)
guys. it's not about Blast Mine. it's the low effort/big reward design that they've been applying to Surv perks lately that's the problem. persistent for TWO minutes?! there's NO downside. that's the problem.
now, maybe on ONE survivor it's annoying. but when these things start stacking because you have 4 survs with 4 perks each, versus one Killer with just 4 perks, things can get out of hand quick.
and with competent survs, yeah, it can easily become just a miserable experience.
once again the Killer doesn't feel threatening, and that's a problem.
-
yeah, i love this game, and i've suffered through some terrible times as Killer, but right now is particularly horrible.
breaks my heart since the game was basically perfect right before the recent regression nerfs.
Singularity is particularly unplayable. takes too long to do anything, gun range is short for podding, lots of environment can't be podded for some unknown reason, too easily countered. he's only really good against survs who don't know what they are doing.
-
i'd like zombie skins for all survs.

I mean clearly all those years playing killer haven't done much for you since you list plot twist as a problematic perk. Oh no, the survivor disables themselves for 30 seconds, gets healed and the perk is then disabled until endgame. Good thing there isn't an item that does the same thing but faster...
Buckle up and For the people is countered by just literally injuring people, most survivors are chasing after you making them easy targets. If the whole team is swarming you then you win by attrition since nobody is doing gens.
I think the most obvious one though is you calling Singularity bad, one of the strongest chase killers in the game, but somehow "takes too long to do anything useful".
yes, i'm sure Sing's numbers will show that out.
the issue is, designing perks with big rewards and minimal drawbacks.

If you run into a SWF abusing the combo, you can choose not to indulge them. I recently ran into a Flip Flop/Boil Over/Sabo squad that burned a Badham offering, an offering to put the basement in the killer shack, and wanted to sit in the basement the entire game unhookable. I didn't bother to play against it, so I just spammed my power over and over by the gates between spats of being AFK to make a sandwich or play on my phone until they got bored, did the gens, and left. They wasted their offerings and time.
i'm not sure the solution to a gameplay issue should be "don't play the game."
in your scenario, i tend to slug.
the BU+FTP guys tend to stalk the killer to recover the fallen teammate during hit animations. they just do it on rotation. i'm not saying it's unbeatable or game breaking, but it's too much bang for buck. instant 10 sec endurance for half the team? that's bonkers.

This was a bug fix, the perk specifically states that Repairing and Healing skill checks are affected - Doctors madness is neither of those things, same with Pigs boxes. There was a bug introduced that caused it to work on those two things which was fixed in this update.
Well, my feedback is that's lame and boring. :P HL is by no means a top tier perk. it needs all the utility it can get.

I don't like playing against Made for This either, but unfortunately, I don't think they will be nerfing it anytime soon, so it's better to get used it. I've been playing killer for two to three hours a night since the latest chapter release, and I haven't even run into a squad abusing the Buckle Up + For the People combo. It's not that common, but I expect it will get nerfed soon.
Plot Twist is just funny. I love finding someone using it, instantly picking them up, and watching them rage DC because they got found.
I agree with you that Singularity is terrible. I won't play him anymore except for dailies, and the upcoming tome challenges. That's only due to being a completionist, I'm certainly not looking forward to it.
i run into SWFs often abusing the combo. it's a nightmare.
i'll live with MFT, usually it's fine, but it's indicative of a pattern of buffing survs without really taking in to account the consequences. that's what concerns me more, and it's that thinking that's lead to other problems.
now, i'm all for buffing garbo perks, but they need to keep in mind that there are FOUR survs, that's 16 perks. their perks have to be weaker than Killer perks because there are lots of players running around the map using them together against only one player.
-
@sizzlingmario4 said:
It was a bug.
The perk does need a buff but that’s not how it should be buffed. Perks and killer powers should stay separate.
terrible idea and boring to boot. when a player identifies a cool synergy between their power and a perk, reward that exploration and ingenuity.
not every killer is nurse.
-
am i mistaken? i'm fairly sure i've both used it and been subject to Hex: HL on Doc.
but i am getting old. XD either way, no sir, i don't like. *yells at cloud*

DCs should be penalized more, not less.

seems to fix itself after the computer goes to sleep and then waking up again.

ill get ban for this? and how i can do 120 fps?

Actually it's back now. Seems very similar to this issue here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/383247/pc-bug#latest
Bug comes back every time I update my system (kernal, gpu drivers.) I'm on an AMD 6800XT.
-
Seems to have resolved since this morning.
-
Anyone else's FPS tank after today's update? Game is now unplayable for me at ~20fps.
edit Hmm, seems ok now. This morning was a wreck though right after update.
-
map offerings should only Ban maps. one player should not be able to drag 4 other players to their preferred map.

At this point i´m honestly surprised that no one has thought about bringing Dark Theory to the party.
i do this. and shadowstep.
-
agreed! with voicelines! make it happen!
-
they could also do both, though i imagine the penalties are easier to do. there's no good reason to DC that would warrant only a 1-5 minute penalty. 10 at minimum.
-
or, rollback the item change. Killer items are items and should be treated the same as survivor items.
as you say, there's little downside now for survs for interacting with Killer items.
-
thanks all! i got it today!
-
I prefer the losing charges over time while on the ground. I also prefer the item staying in play as it becomes a distraction and another goal for survs to focus on, which is something that can eat time or be played around, so more interactive.
-
Ok good to know, thank you!
-
CdG lunge should be an activated ability with another button.
One stack gained per hook.

idk about that..at a certain point builds impact the match as much or even more than skill sadly
builds have huge impact and really swing the match. but i'm a decent killer and i can still get destroyed by survs that know their stuff. know how to loop, know the maps, know how prioritize objectives, know timings.
there's a LOT of game knowledge available to use. so when i hear someone say "i can't win now without X perk," that tells me they relied on their perks too much as a shortcut and weren't working on fundamentals.
-
@GuhShinn said:
No dead hard, no blessing, no kit... is it possible for survivers to win? I had to stop playing, it's not a fair play, it seems they jusdt want the killers to win...
you will win if you're better. if you're crutching on perks, then it's a skill issue.
-
no killer bans. you get what the Entity gives you.
Map offerings should BAN maps, not force everyone else to go there.
