alright then following that same argument we should also remove: Legion and wraith and we should also punish holding W because that also requires low amount of skill….

I agree with all 3 of those

  • sounds like someone can't make a good counter argument....

  • The free hit should be removed entirely, no reason for it to exist other than to make him easier for bad players to pick up

  • Remove him. He's fundamentally flawed by taking bare minimum skill to play and encouraged to hit and run

  • @KingOfDoom55 said:

I like the idea of getting rid of double turrets, however, removing the ability to m1 them is gonna be way worse of a decision than you may thinking, bc that would force xeno players to ONLY use tail attacks for everything until out of crawler mode, I feel like some kind of penalty for m1ing the turrets would be better than getting rid of m1ing all together, like, getting hindered after destroying a turret using an m1 for 3 or 4 seconds but not at all when using the tail attack to destroy it

What's the issue with forcing xeno players to only use their tail? At least for turrets I think it makes the power way more interesting

It's not negligible in the SLIGHTEST. That is a FIFTY percent time increase. It sounds like nothing on paper, but in practice it's made the character atrociously clunky to play. They've ######### killed her.

Honestly I think you might wanna just keep trying to get used to it, I struggled with it at first too but once I regained the muscle memory it became a change that genuinely has no effect on 90% of situations

  • Wanna tell me how or? Kaneki isn't super strong? Kaneki isn't easy? Chucky isn't strong? Chucky isn't easy? Xenomorph was nerfed on the ptb? The answer to all of these is "no," there's not much else I could say

  • Kaneki deserves "nuking," he's super strong and super easy, just like chucky did, and they never tried to nuke xeno the ptb was a buff

I don't want trolls to get notifications when I post. Really a shame they keep assuming they're being attacked and are getting super defensive for using WoO, use whatever perks you need.

I think the Legion changes were much needed, but I think Ghoulie is a bit too strong and may need a nerf.

You're calling me a troll just because I disagree with you and in doing so are objectively attacking me

  • There's definitely more that would happen but I wouldn't hesitate to say that stealth killers would become overpowered

  • @Crowman said:

Nerfing his tail attack while still allowing turrets to knock xeno out of his power is certainly a decision. Not one I would make, but these changes were never for the benefit of the killer player dedicated to xeno.

Is nerfing the tail by 0.1 seconds and effectively removing turrets in chase completely supposed to sound like a fair trade off?

  • @MsPawley said:

The buffs are great. Too bad they did a FIFTY percent wind up nerf, which completely negates the slower burn since it takes far longer to attack.

    0.1 seconds "much longer" ?

  • @Daniel_Silva04 said:

But people were going to use the helmet or the Map to be able to destroy using the m1 anyway, so whatever.

So they should've nerfed the addons and double turret setups

Oh, I see. But you have to hit it with the right timing, it's quite risky.

It can definitely be done consistently and still makes you lose so little distance

  • @Daniel_Silva04 said:

You can't destroy the turret with m1 if you use the turret correctly, you still need the Helmet to do that.

This game is not about winning. That doesn't mean that a casual player should just have to tolerate losing 9/10 games with their SWF and consider that a "fun night" of rounds, nor does it mean that they can't be annoyed the game's MMR makes that the case just because they won the last ten rounds the night before. The fact, like it or not, is that regardless of your mindset in the game, losing due to things you can't control like MMR mismatches or getting a bad map for your Killer is not fun, and losing repeatedly is extra not fun. Is it fun for you to lose just because you take winning seriously? No?

Then why do you assume it's fun for a chill SWF who runs non-meta to also lose? Why do you assume it's fun for someone who rolled in with Trapper for a daily to lose? Why would it be fun for a random SWF who is just vibing to suddenly get that 10k hour multi slowdown HellBlight and barely get a round they die so fast? Why would it be fun for someone who casually mains Pig to get slapped around by strong team after strong team just because of the time they logged on, the maps they got, or having won the last few games? Why is it okay that I can be Memeolas Cage and get a Nurse who wants to four man slug and thus no game, how is that fun?

It's not, obviously. And you're asking people to be OK with these heinous mismatches and never ask for anything to make the game better for everyone just because "You're casual, so stop whining and feed yourself to the grinder"? Come on, now… like, be so for real, friend.

Losing isn't fun. Thinking that losing becomes fun just because someone takes the game less seriously is a really tone deaf take, considering this game caters more to the casual experience of "you win some you lose some". You're intended to lose some, not win forever, but for some reason this community has decided winning is the end all be all. So now, "casual" is a filthy word that some use for "bad", which means, Lettuchia, what you're actually saying is "if you're bad or choose any character/perk that's not meta, you deserve to have a crappy experience by losing to alpha chads who win a lot, like me." That's what you're saying, that the casual experience in this casual-minded horror tag game does not matter and you want things to be MORE competitive with stricter MMR.

I don't think you would like your games much if you always forever played against people that were exactly at or above your skill level, though…

Having to tolerate occasional losses is part of the game but the idea that you should not care about something that feels bad AT ALL if you're casual makes no sense. I can get bit by mosquitoes in my backyard in a place known for lots of mosquitoes, that doesn't mean I have to tolerate the fact that the mosquitoes are there and can't ask that my county spray for them. A curbstomp mismatch is the same, it sucks to experience no matter how seriously you take this game or what side you prefer.

There's no spin here except the spin you're giving, this argument is so pointless and tiresome. Because losing isn't fun, period. You lost the debate, you have a bad take, let it go.

Genuinely, like GENUINELY crazy how you're gonna keep saying I'm being irrational and that I need to get overmyself, when I've done nothing but debunk everything you've said and you just resort to being a child saying "but the devs said so" "i'm right you're wrong." Guess I shouldn't expect more from a supposed dredge player but just, wow

Calling a rational response you disagree with "copium" doesn't make your opinion better.

The devs disagree with you. Stealth is a tactic and does involve skill and strategy according to them, otherwise Stealth Killers and stealth perks would not exist. It's an intended and yes, strategic part of the game. Deal with it.

I'll be disengaging now because you seem to be looking for bait.

Just because the devs think something doesn't mean it's true, and it isn't true, deal with it. Ignoring everything I said besides the word copium, telling me to just deal with it, and then saying I'm the one looking for bait. That really is interesting

Being casual about winning doesn't mean needing to tolerate losing constantly. Your logic is not conducive to any kind of argument.

Again you can't have your cake and eat it too. If you want to win then play a killer that takes skill, if you don't want to because you find them too difficult you have noone to blame for your losses but yourself.

I'm sorry but I really think you're misunderstanding this Killer, possibly because you may not have played him before. Knowing when to activate or not activate Night Shroud IS using his power, it's his entire power actually. Playing with the terror radius being there/being smaller/not being there is very important to playing Ghostface effectively, all half decent Ghostface Mains do this and he even has addons for it. It's like how Huntress Mains know how long to hold a hatchet for, or how Demo Mains know to fake a shred. It's just a lot more passive.

Besides, as a low mobility stealth Killer that by nature relies on ambush and not chase, there is absolutely no reason on Entity's Fog-laiden Earth that Ghostface should have a 30 m TR. It just does not make sense, and it actually hinders his ability to get close, settle in and stalk properly within a decent striking range before sneaking up in stealth for the down. The same is true of Pig, and that's because you're intended to use your TR or lack of one to fool the Survivors a bit. With Ghostface especially, the whole idea is you use your stealth to stalk and your lack of TR/small TR to confuse Survivors into bad plays or misreads on where you are.

These Killers do not need fancy kits or a lot of crazy chase powers, and not having those doesn't make them less skillful or easier to win with - it actually requires more basic Killer skill and makes them a lot harder to win with since you have no fallback if you fail. For ambush Killers like Pig and Ghostie, you're supposed to strategize. Basic M1 chase and mindgames can pick up the rest of the slack when a chase does happen, and DOES take considerable skill to be good at. It may not be flashy, but stealth Killers aren't supposed to be flashy. They're supposed to be sneaky.

This is a good change and a slight buff to a Killer that could use some buffs. Now all that's needed is frankly to fix his Reveal to be more fair both sides, maybe shrink what distance he's revealable from a bit to encourage stalking more or lengthen reveal time, and perhaps some addon changes to make certain addons more useful. These are all things I head Ghostface Mains say he needs, and I can agree as I sometimes play him myself - and if you've ever actually played him you'd know that being stealthy against and out-mindgaming coordinated Survs is NOT at all easy, NOT at all free, and does in fact require skill at Killer in general.

I think you just might be biased because you believe M1 Killers are too easy to play and thus have no value, which just is a terrible take. Not everyone wants to play complex Killers. Just because you can easily spam a power without thinking, or the power has a lot it can do, does not make a Killer "more skillful". In fact, I'd say Nurse is one of the easiest to understand and least skillful Killers in the game compared to someone like Pinhead, Huntress, Singularity or even Pig or Trapper (who require planning things out a bit). She just is not that complicated.

… Actually, I would definitely say because Ghostface has a lot more to worry about based on how he gets his power and uses it, and how he is intended to stalk, he definitely takes a little MORE effort than Nurse does simply because you need to be clever with his power to do well.

Mechanical skill with a power is not the only kind of skill you can have in this game. Or any game for that matter. Strategy is also a skill.

It's not "strategy" to mindlessly sneak up on survivors with little counterplay for uncoordinated teams. "Fooling" survivors is not skill, it happens automatically by playing a stealth killer and with this change even moreso, so long as you're up against a team that isn't an alpha swf. Word it however you want but sneaking up on people isn't skill and the copium is crazy

Windows allows you to not have to learn tileset layouts to know where possible pallets may spawn. That's not "convenience", that's not "luxury", that's quite literally dumbing the game down with a perk. You're coping.

With that said, I don't think Windows of Opportunity is overpowered but it is annoying that it prevents you from needing to learn tilesets and pallet spawn locations which should be an element of mastery for both Survivor and Killer. Memorizing the layout of maps is a learnable, practicable skill that makes you a better player whether you want to admit it or not.

Nah, it's convenience. Memorization doesn't make you smarter so removing the need for memorization doesn't make you dumber, whether you want to admit it or not

  • @LockerLurk said:

Do… do you hear yourself right now?

Why should casual players have to accept miserable rounds, often many a night, when they just want to have fun? Why is "winning" the rubicon for if someone is casual or not? Why do casual players have to accept losing as the cost of their fun because non casuals want to sweat all over them for their 200000th win in their Blight streak? Why should my casual SWF be punished because a Deathslinger wants to slug for a 4k? Why should my casual Ghostface be faced with team after team after team of high level players he can't handle with his kit just because I won a handful of games? That doesn't track. At all.

Casual players enjoy winning sometimes, too. It is not fun to be curbstomped nor is it fun to be the one curbstomping, I don't care how chill or seriously you take this game, the issue is not wins versus losses no matter how you spin it: we can all agree that curbstomp fights with no challenge or chance to win are not any fun, win or loss.

Shouldn't be asking for buffs? So casual players are never allowed to point out issues with the game just because they're casual?

I think you're a troll, friend, usually bait is more believable than this…

Do you hear yourself right now? Why do casual players who say they only care about fun have any reason to care about winning? It's just copium excuses to try and get killers that don't take any skill buffed so they can win without putting in the effort. If you want to win games then play a killer that takes skill, and if you're just playing for fun then don't complain about losing games. You can't have your cake and eat it too, but sure, brush off my point as bait just because you disagree, that's mature

it only serves to make her easier to play for no reason

So basically what Doctor and Legion have? It's nothing unique to have power focused on giving information.

It's also not really a big deal with how many information perks we have, where many are actually better than killer's power.

If stealth was such a big deal, you would see way higher kill rates on Ghostface, or Wraith. Which is simply not a reality.

And doctor and legion aren't well designed killers so what's your point? Also no, something can be a big deal without being universally overpowered.

Definitely not with his recent nerfs.

Not sure where Id place him after that since Ive only gone against him a few times and only played as him a few times, but my gut is saying mid to low B tier from my experience.

Sure his chase is good and his stealth is ok, but since theyre tied to the same cooldown it definitely doesnt help. Getting hits also just takes a while since a good chunk of his first hits are either coming out of stealth or with his dash, and then he needs to follow them at 110 to dash again. So yes, he's more than likely to get another hit, but it takes quite a bit of time to do so. His other option is to drop chase afterwards but now he's a 110 with no power.

In short, most of what he does is pretty lackluster since every single aspect of his kit is something other killers have but better.

You should be using chucky exclusively for his chase power, not his stealth, so that solves that. And it simply does not take long enough to catch up just because he's a 110 to make his chase bad, since his chase power is still so versatile and you can still close the gap with it or get hits around different tiles so easily, but I guess not easily enough to stop people who crutched on old chucky saying he got "gutted"

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3902130#Comment_3902130

Wesker's dashes are just straight up better, though, by a mile.

Dracula has 2 dashes at a 6m range. Wesker has 2 dashes at a ~7m, and then ~14m range. They're also faster. He also has the ability to walk backwards, and vault windows and pallets. Their recharge times are also quite similar if you account for both the individual killer's reductions in cooldown (the orbs for Dracula, and the Infection for Wesker).

The only thing Drac has Wesker beat on is charge time, in which case, Demo is markedly better in that category too. Demo also has them both beat in regards to the actual speed of the dash too.

The pounce is just average, but that's fine considering that it's not a standalone power. It's the last thing about Dracula that needs a nerf, though.

Wolf more than makes up the 0.33 meters of distance he's behind on weskers first dash with faster movement speed while charging, shorter charge time, and instant acceleration. Walking backwards and vaulting doesn't matter if you're a good player and actually going for hits with your power, and wolf can straight up break pallets. Wolf also gets haste from scent orbs just because. Wolf hard beats wesker on charge time and cancel cooldown, and just because demo has him beat on those means nothing because both wesker and wolf have demo beat easily by having a second dash.

I'm genuinely unsure how you're coming to your conclusion.

You've got a ranged attack that ignores windows and pallets, an insane catchup tool that ignores windows and pallets, and then a worse Demo shred.

Wolf Form has amazing info potential, but the pounce is his worst chase tool out of the three.

Calling a better wesker a worse demo is crazy work, you genuinely just ignoring the second dash huh?

Plus Wolf Form is the last place Dracula has any issues at the moment. They don't need to nerf the dog.

    Yeeeeeikes, friend… 🤨

Question, what Killers "take skill" to you and therefore "deserve" buffs? Why do you believe Killers made for more casual minded and newer players don't deserve any buffs? I can't understand making the game worse for people who don't want to play Killers that require studying a power bible or who are new.

Imagine if someone said "Survivors do not deserve to have perks made for new players, like Windows, buffed because they don't take any skill to use or activate." That would be absurd, right?

If you're a casual player you shouldn't care about winning and therefore shouldn't be asking for buffs, and windows just corrects for having to memorize things which is more of an inconvenience than skill

  • @PetTheDoggo said:

    Don't be so dramatic…
It can't really replace game sense, when it still needs survivor to run into drones. Knowing where to place drones is part of game sense too.
It has nothing to do with soloQ, because every survivor can just see them.

SoloQ has their own issue, which should be changed imo, but definetly shouldn't be gatekeeping killers.

I should say it partially replaces game sense, or that its replaceable by gamesense, so it only serves to make her easier to play for no reason. I don't like thinking of trap killers like this but most people I see think of hiding traps as part of trap killers, which only works if survivors don't have one person following the killer and comming trap locations, which would only happen in a swf, and stealth is definitely a soloq issue since you cant always see the killer but swfs can always comm their location

  • If you want hexes to be harder for survs to get rid of extremely quickly you also have to want hexes to be harder for killers to keep up for extremely long

  • Mentioning all the nerfs and zero of the buffs

    "they will be gutting her"

Gee I wonder how you came to that conclusion

Also "I want my haste, I want to keep the undetectable" as if haste or undetectable are good game mechanics

  • How people keep getting it in their head that this is anything like engineers fang is beyond me

  • "Skull merchant should be a tracking/trap/stealth killer"

So a killer that gives you game sense for free, a killer that only wins by taking advantage of lack of info provided to soloq, or a killer that only wins by taking advantage of lack of info provided to soloq again. Maybe her identity should be taken away, doesn't seem like a good identity to be in the game

Freddy's original power could have been gotten to a good state if they actually tried. But they didn't, and replaced him with a killer that's way less interesting in nearly every way. Did you know he was actually heavily nerfed shortly after release? Yeah, they didn't rework him because his power was 'unsalvageable' or 'the worst power ever designed'. They reworked him because they freaked out and had no idea what they were doing.

    Kinda like they're doing now.

Ok then tell me, how should they have tweaked a power with zero chase power and free aura reading to make it interesting?

That’s a wild take. Stealth killers are a lot weaker than the other ones and you know that you play a horror game? These killers are the only ones who actually embody horror to some degree.

You would probably say nurse is more skillful, but on the other hand performing well with ghost face requires a lot more skill.

Its a horror themed game, doesn't mean killers popping out on top of you and getting a free hit just because you're not on comms takes any skill, there are plenty more intelligent ways to buff ghost face that aren't free. And yes nurse is 1000% more skillful than ghost face, doing well with ghost face doesn't require more skill from the killer player it just requires less coordinated survivors

I feel like "stealth killers are faceroll" is a great example of the general phenomenon where survivor mains don't understand what parts of playing a killer are and aren't skillful play and vice versa. People that don't play both roles end up with some wild misconceptions about how the game actually works that drive a lot of really pointless arguments, and this is how we end up with a million dash killers and second chance perks, because every time a killer or survivor didn't do something right in front of their face it's "unfair."

Ok, but I play both sides and still I say stealth killers are faceroll. Very little mechanical/macro skill required if any, usually just taking advantage of lack of info given to survs in uncoordinated teams to sneak up on them and get free hits, that's not skill, thinking it is is just confirmation bias

This change isn't going to discourage Ghostface from using his power. It just makes him a little stealthier particularly when his power is on cooldown.

Yeah without any skill or risk like that which is required to actually use the power
