  • It wouldn't break game unlike some forum users have been saying. Even with Unbreakable.

  • I am fine with most changes.

Rancor needs buff and mori offerings should have higher value as BP offering.

  • I don't think it needs nerf but somehow wish range gets reduced to 24 or something whenever I go to Gideon Meat Plant.

  • Freddy buff and Artist nerf

  • Something feels wrong after reading devs are satisfied with this state.

New chapters make DbD steady and prevent huge droputs but BHVR's balancing is what makes all that efforts into nothing honestly.

Distortion is strictly for Auras and things like Legion Frenzy isn't an aura its Killer Instinct

I know. Just one of reasons why I don't think Distortion is worth it.

  • Distortion still feels like a waste of perk slot.

I know it's impactful against Nurse, Blight, Huntress using aura perks but I haven't got single value from most killers, including Wesker.

BBQ change somehow affected and it doesn't prevent Legion's Frenzy instinct or Artist's crows when you get swarmed.

And I don't mind Lethal Pursuer honestly, unless someone is hiding in corner of map or huge deadzone.

Nurse might be exception but what can I say about perks when it is not the main issue.

  • No I think the combo is overrated.

I'd rather use Prove Thyself alone rather than use 2 perks for faster repair speed.

Also the risk of skill check fails.

  • Probably general killer nerfs. I don't think Twins will get any changes at all like Hag.

  • Better worry about mid chapter update because there's been nothing done to camping (except band aid perk like Reassurance) and solo que will still be miserable after Project:W release.

At this moment, I'm certain some of killer buffs will eventually be taken away. Maybe BHVR will realize even if they buff killers and make fair for both, some players don't change their playstyle, slowdown perks and all they need to do is adjusting killers one by one and balancing maps, not giving common massive buffs.

  • I don't think it is possible to do changes making both sides fair and untouched.

For camping? Increasing timer, removing grab maybe.

About tunneling, I think devs will eventually revert changes done to sprinting time after getting injured, successful hit cooldown.

10 seconds BT is powerful but it doesn't matter when killer has Save Best or instantly hit unhooked person.

    Also SBFTL will get nerf.

  • First of all, better matchmaking.

QoL changes like survivors can see their teammates' loadouts.

Status icon indicating what survivors are doing (being chased, doing gen, cleansing totem etc)

Solution against extreme camp/tunnel situation and nerfing certain killer/addons that are highly overtuned.

  • Just decent. Unless you want to be careful against stealth killers, not worh it.

  • Nurse Blight Huntress Oni

  • Still decent and I think it's fine. Good loopers are trying to adapt, time it perfectly with possibility of failure.

And old DH (for distance) shouldn't have been a thing at all.

  • Spirit - Most purple, green addons are stupidly meme like and terrible. Which forces players to use MDR because next best speed addon is much slower than that.

Hag - Not a type of killer whose ability is focused on chase. Hag is rather a drop-chase type killer.

Trickster - Recoil. Also he doesn't have any windup/cooldown addons which would help him a lot.

  • Nurse. She also gains huge value from BBQ which synergizes well with Lethal.

If you liked old Corrupt for getting hints where survivors spawn, Lethal's worth using imo.

  • She is definitely no long S tier killer. It is not that hard to realize how rare to encounter Spirit compared to Nurse and Blight. Her limit is very significant compared to those. Good Spirit equals MDR with Cherry Blossom (or Amulet) these days.

  • People who mostly pick Nurse doesn't play because she is easy, they play her because of high skill potential.

Even if her design mostly negates pallet/windows, she is not a easy killer.

If you consider that point as easy and broken power, then she is easy killer for you.

  • Kinda. This isn't even Skill Based Matchmaking, more like Escape Based Matchmaking.

When I could see other players' ranks, I can understand bad players considering their rank but now?

How do I even trust SBMM is working when I can't see mine and others' MMR?

RBMM also had flaws but I'd rather play with someone whose rank is same as mine.

  • I wouldn't say it would be overpowered even if it gives you Endurance effect.

    The perk is so situational.

  • I don't think so. Still many players are playing but me and my friends no longer play as often we used to. Nowadays survivors have to play organized and efficient and killers are fine but when I was getting good results, it felt like I was doing well because of bad matchmaking and perks I'm using rather than I am good at killer or not. Which made me feel unchallenging. I will just wait next update and try other games for a while.

  • I think Malicious emblem was easy to get with fast down killers, far from Legion.

Try Trickster, I completed that challenge with him.

  • Reduced speed boost after getting hit and successful attack cooldown should be reverted.

DS should go back to 5 seconds.

Solutions for miserable SoloQ and extreme camp/tunnel.

  • I got value from 4 man SWF using 2x CoH + SS with RPD Badge when I was playing Spirit.

Very situational but could be useful in certain situations. With increasing pick rate of CoH, might be worth trying.

Aura reading is also very useful when someone is in boon area.

  • Solo Q has been ignored and neglected so long and after patch timebomb just exploded.

Just adapt? That's what I heard back when Undying was released.

BHVR made such a terrible mistake giving huge buffs to killers and not touching Solo Q at all.

  • After patch, the reduced sprint time after getting injured really feels like a issue when versing Nurse.

  • Or your skill level isn't high enough to counter skillful killers besides Nurse and Blight.

  • Kinda. I don't get why people didn't complain about her when she was nerfed in 2019 and complaints go on after 3 years.

Killers that 'were' viable or decent like Old Deathslinger, Hillbilly, Freddy and "buffed" Wraith are just gone. Spirit might be included too.

Also this bad "MMR" matchmaking encourages playing strong killers and people ignore other problems and think Nurse is the only problem in DbD.

  • I don't think it is an exploit. Somehow people have been using it more.

I'd say exploit is something like survivors can reduce fall down stagger by doing gestures (1,2).

  • Personally I am fine with changes, most were needed as I once thought.

I am just worried BHVR won't react and fix fast enough when possible balance problems happen and get worse with upcoming patch.

Like soloQ, bad matchmking and more.

I just hope there were more big changes coming in the future.

  • Just tune her maximum potential down.

Purple Range addon, Kavannagh's Last Breath is very impactful.

Exposed status perks and aura reading perks give her many advantages.

However, she needs addon rework in good way because most are utter garbage.

Will nerfing her completely make her useless? I don't know.

But whether range addons are gone, blink attacks are no longer basic attack,

she gains no aura reading perk value, I wouldn't say she's totally gutted or no longer S tier killer.

  • Probably after recent rework.

Legion seemed popular before and feel like more players are now picking Legion more.

However, I wouldn't consider him either powerful or annoying. (I'd say Thana is annoying, not Legion.)

Because teammates when playing solo are the real disaster against Legion.

Like infinte self-care, not 99 mending when he is in Frenzy, hiding in locker while detectable with instinct.

  • For killer, Wraith,

Most Wraiths I faced were kinda tryhards with toxicity that I would rather enjoy versing Nurse or Blight.

    Survivor? Claudette.

I think people who play her are either trying to annoy killer or rage quit and f**k over teammates.

Not the problem of character, problem of players who play her.

  • Solo survivor can't see your teammates loadouts in the lobby.

Survivors should be able to check killer's ping.

Killers' penalized BP addons and garbage meme addons that are just waste of bloodpoints.

  • Better than nothing but don't think it is heavily tweaked.

Still gonna be annoying for Solo and hooked near Noed is still confirmed death.

At least, teammates can choose to leave seeing the aura.

Also survivor meta perks are changed hugely so trying for totem detection perk or Soul Guard can be worth trying I guess.

I definitely agree. Her base kit is much weaker when you compare to nurse and probably even blight (might be comparable to blight). Pre-patch IW made it that her feeling oppressive like an S tier killer was locked behind expensive add-ons, but now with IW nerf, it gives a chance for her more moderate add-ons to be viable against all survivors. Her uncommon and rare add-ons just received a small buff from the IW nerf, so maybe more people will play her... we'll see.

I don't mind her too much, but as a Bill main. If I let her get that first hit, there's very little I can do to avoid the down😅

Oh well, hopefully Bill and other survivors like Ash, Jane, Jeff gets decent grunts of pain volume reduce like mentioned in recent Developer Note.

To be fair though, spirit most likely won't even have to go after the person just hooked who has OtR. I feel like since people won't be able to be completed silent after being hit, she'll still be able to get consistent downs pretty quickly.

We'll see though, I haven't gone against that many spirits recently so I have no idea whether spirit players will come back. I do remember though back when I would get her game after game and it was just a massacre. Spirit basekit isn't omega strong, but with some of her add ons she might feel oppressive with IW nerf.

Probably MDR with either Dried Cherry Blossom or Yakuyoke Amulet.

Personally she doesn't feel same level with Nurse or Blight if she doesn't have MDR.

  • I don't think so.

Surely MDR Spirit might appear more but OtR somehow replaces IW and she's not that viable as people remember imo.

  • Fearmonger & Shadow Step

Maybe Lucky Break instead of SS

I'd pick Zarina over Mikaela. New killers can't track well even with scratch marks so the new survivor would have a better chance of getting away. Mikaela's perks requiring finding a dull totem and most new survivors don't know what a dull totem is let alone the spawn locations.

OtR doesn't make survivor hide scratch marks. If you mean no grunts of pain, Zarina could be valuable too.

I know spending time with totem feel like waste in certain situations but her perks are overall good imo.

Good thing, they are both non-licensed so both purchasable with iri shards :)

I think most of the July update is positive. I’m not sure why they feel the Prestige should cost any bloodpoints at all but other than that all the changes from the June update seem good to me. 👍

    As to the original post

    • Once they adjust the rarities of the add-ons like they said they will be doing there’s no downside at all to Prestiging other than that oddball 20k cost. So at that point there’s no reason for it to be optional either.
    • I don’t care about the portraits or charms either way. 🤷‍♂️ I will say though I think the new charm looks decent.🙂
    • Complaints about camping and tunneling are rooted more in the underlying issue which is that the game has player elimination midmatch. As a general rule player elimination can be problematic because nobody likes sitting on the sidelines while their friends keep playing a game they were in. The only way to ultimately eliminate camping and tunneling complaints would be to get rid of elimination and make it so, for instance, the killer gets one Ritual token per hook plus one token per 60 seconds a survivor spends on the hook or dying and they win if they collect 8-12 tokens. If the game hypothetically used that model there would be no perceived benefit to facecamping and no specific reason to down someone multiple times in a row to facecamp. (And this is how the official boardgame works in fact for exactly that reason). Unfortunately we’re well past the point that could happen in the video game so maybe it’d be something to think about if they ever do a sequel? 🤷‍♂️

Reading this at least made me feel better than I thought first. Thanks.

They announced they will tweak more perks so.. hopefully matters that might happen in upcoming patch should also be looked at.

Maybe this July note wasn't that bad.

Nope, and the more I think about the new endurance changes, the more I think that Deathslinger, Legion, and Original Pain may get their deep wounds removed.

Personally I think both Deathslinger and Legion are fine, I would say the problem is DH being dead perk against them.

They've mentioned theyre going to find ways to help make the mandatory prestige not come at the cost to access to higher tiers of addons and such - these announced changes rule, though. It covered like 80% of people's concerns coming out of the PTB on top of what was otherwise looking to be a fantastic patch, so now it's nearly perfect!

I know. Maybe I overreacted but hope there was QoL change which I can automatically spend bloodpoints on Bloodweb. Both repeating lv.50 bloodweb and spending BP on lv1~20 bloodweb are too tedious.

  • @Seraphor said:

It's definitely strange that you're an advocate for not pretiging, yet at the same time want tangible rewards for prior prestige levels.

Neither of things things bother me, because prestiging after the update will have tangible effects, while prestiging before the update has no tangible effects, and in fact comes with a significant cost, losing all of my items.

I would always prestige if there was compensation after P9. I know current Prestige don't have much tangible effects besides Bloody cosmetics but single Prestige icon? I can't understand.

Nope. You may find very few that are disappointed and share your POV. Camping can't and should not be -heavily- punished. Because there are times where it's neccesary. There is literally no way to tell when it's neccesary or not. Hence you can't punish it heavily.

I don't want camping itself only getting nerf. I mean there needs huge incentives rather than just camping near hook till 2nd state or death. And something should be added survivors get from situations like first hook death by Bubba.
