If we accept these standards, then we accept conceding things which are unjustified because the other side are asking for something even worse. Obviously the way to get what you want if you notice someone doing this is to make unreasonable demands; then less ridiculous but still-unreasonable suggestions get taken seriously.

This is why people do not so easily concede anything, even in a non-zero sum game.

Eh..maybe..but it foesnt seem to be helping us so far..look at gf

  • Both are cool in concept..I'd say freddy is better but I'm hoping gf is in plans for an update because atm hes either really bugged or over nerfed

Which is why my first reply was 'why would killers agree to this?'

It had the appearance to me of a solution looking for a problem. It gives survivors yet another bit of breathing-room, on top of their ever-growing list of 2nd-chances, without solving any killer problems with said 2nd-chances or any related issue.

Yes I agree it doesnt solve any killer issues..but..it gives one less thing for survivors to throw at us when we talk about the state of weaker killers..and it's far better than what they are demanding

The devs take bad-swings at things all the time, partially because they are fed suggestions that can be used to justify them all the time.

I happen to think the last 3 years has had too many suggestions and not enough debate and consensus-building for them and that's why the quality of feedback and some of the devs decisions have been so poor.

I agree that only one side gets heard in some cases believe me I do..but..finding a good middle ground on something like this is a decent start

Changing numbers isnt always a nerf or buff. Period. You refuse to accept or understand that one simple line, so theres no point in discussing this further.

I could give you 1000 examples of how something is not a nerf, and because one number is lowered, youd say its TECHNICALLY a nerf.

Example. Hook phase times used to be 30 seconds. It was deemed far too short for actual gameplay without camping. They made it 60 seconds to BALANCE the game correctly. That's not a buff. The time doubled, but it's not a buff, it was a balancing change.

    <3

Respectfully I disagree but I have my opinion and you have yours, calling it either or doesnt change the effect it had on him that's all I'm saying

You think that if survivors have no excuse to whine, that this will stop them?

They already don't and yet they do.

We need to have a conversation about features which artificially shorten and extend the game. Singling-out individual features though just leads to double-standards being applied to different ones.

While I agree I try to be fair to both sides and I fully understand the feelings some people have on moris even if I dont share them..but the devs need to be given suggestions or else they'll take a blind swing at trying to appease the mob and it could be for the worse..so far this is the most fair solution I could think on

4% each side (8%) on what was the visual cone needed to reveal him. The survivors POV.

And saying "a nerf is a nerf " doesnt change that they were not nerfs.

We could say that fixing the SB bug was a nerf to survivors. Because TECHNICALLY it's harder for then to use it now.

We could say that 360 unhooks was a nerf to killers, because they cant face camp and negate core game mechanics, because TECHNICALLY it's easier for survivors to get a save.

Throwing around the term nerf doesnt make it true.

It's a nerf if it's not an exploit or bug but lowers overall performance which it very much has...plus..the devs have given no word on gf getting revealed through walls so I'm not claiming going to assume they didnt intend it..remember ds and mettle of man used to be different than now..so I'm waiting for their word on it..I'm not trying to be rude but saying it's not a nerf is just..silly

Just let mori be doable when suvivor is on his last hook. Done.

4% on either side (like an INCH total on an average tv) so that he COULD be revealed. Because it wasnt happening standing in front of him.

Seeing through walls is a bug.

Neither are nerfs. One was an adjustment, and one was a BUG.

And nerfed 2 addons from the point they were in ptb to live? That's also not a nerf, because it wasnt live.

People voted about how he worked, not the specifics of every detail. It was a balancing adjustment to go live. Not a nerf.

A nerf would be if he could be revealed in half the time, or if only had to be on screen and not centered. Or if he couldnt stalk while leaning. Those are nerfs. Which didnt happen. Hes still very viable compared to before the "nerf".

Stop throwing nerf around like it makes what you say true.

Also, I'm not a bro. So you've missed the point with basically all of what you just posted.

Lol but tell me..4 percent wider off what statistic..? It sure wasnt 8 percent of the reveal radious...besides , a nerf is a nerf..plus..the changes came after the release, therefore even by your definition it's a nerf..it lowered his performance..nerf

  • @Mister_xD said:

    i wouldnt mind that.

id like the devs to add the old hatch grab back for survivors who used a key though.

so both OP things get a slight nerf. and dont mean just a free kill / escape.

That would indeed be an improvement

  • @Carpemortum said:

So what about when one person dcs or literally hides all game and you're down a mori because someone ELSE didnt want to play the game.

Very true..they should be crediting killers more for dcs..plus didnt they say they were going to make survivors leave a husk for killers to hook..?..so that would fix that

  • @Mister_xD said:

i do like the ideas, but there are a few issues with 2 of them.

for the trapper, this has been suggested for a long time now, but we gotta remember: he only has so many traps and he is also not carrying one with him all the time. where would he take that trap from? and why cant he use it after the mori / in general?

i personally really like his current animation (even though its very simple), yet i too would suggest some minor changes:

the look he gives the survivor in the end should be reduced. instead, he could give the survivor a final slash in the head and then pull his weapon out by lifting it up (with the survivors body on it) and then using his foot to stomp the survivor to the ground and seperate them from his blade.

now, for the wraith - and i'd like to add that this is an amazing idea and ive thought of it aswell at one point - the problem is, that the devs would have to create a model for every single survivor and every single cosmetic they have. that woudl be a LOT of work and they said before that they are rather "lazy" and instead of modeling everything they just add tons of blood to make it look good. this is also why there are no survivor organs lying around / the survivors torso being ripped open after the hags mori. personally, i wouldnt be able to telly you how i'd change the mori, but maybe he could turn the survivors heads by 180° (breakign their neck) after slashing them with his weapon as a finisher?

the nurse one, i really like the idea. its cool and would certainly be easy to add.

all in all, really cool ideas. just sadly not all of them are convertable :c

Well better to toss them out there all the same^^

  • Well considering I myself am a killer player..even make YouTube vids on it, I don't tunnel most of the time , and a common issue I run into is two hooking everyone , common issue with good players , itd give survivors no excuse to whine , make it the counterpart to keys almost perfectly, plus it wouldnt make the mori any less useful, just needs a tad more setup and not even a hard setup at that

They didnt nerf him. They adjusted how certain mechanics work.

Jesus christ this forum Is full of knee jerk biased people nowdays.

Bro..they made his reveal radious wider and nerfed two of his addons directly, now hes getting broken out through walls..that was no adjustment it was a nerf by definition

  • Hypocratic when my post about mori designs was flooded by jerks who wanted to make snyde comments about moris..so remember, both sides have ass holes the difference is why they are #########

Second, that isn't true. Just the recent nerf to MoM proves the contrary, they basically killed the perk by following our feedback and ideas.

If the killer is pressuring yet the others are still playing better why shouldn't it be possible?

This mindset is saying the less skilled player should be always rewarded regardless if the other players are better or not.

The state show games last on average far more than 5 mins for any side.

If the game is done in under 5 mins that says there was not enough pressure put out and your opponents played better. If a killer kills all in 5 mins it comes down to silly mistakes by survivors playing badly so that should also apply to killers. By your words a killer ending it in a quick fashion should then also not be possible.

You are actually insinuating sitting there pressing two buttons constitutes more skill than strategizing in a chase...yeah I'm sorry but I can see your a brick wall kind of person so I'm not wasting my energy

I would find the proctologist far scarier than the teacher but i's just me I guess.

    Oh God the mori XDDDD

  • If it is the old teacher design, I'm hoping they finally give us a killer based on the lore that survivors sometimes go mad and become killers after a time

  • I'll be blunt, trapper is too inconsistsnt to beat these teams..that's why we currently have the three pillars as I call them, nurse, Billy, spirit..now..nurse's s future is in doubt slightly..but..the devs dont actively seek to kill their game either..so..that's why I suggested in a post they work more closely with the community on this instead of just pushing it out like it's just another update..if the worst it gets is her extra blinks go and those addons become something more interesting then by God I'm behind it as will everyone else be..but...the devs have been making very trash addons on the last 3 killers so I think we need to make our voices heard here..they only listen when you make a loud noise

  • @twistedmonkey said:

The largest factor in the game is still personal skill and choices which no one seems to mention with these things. It's not just about having something strong it's how well you can use it to your advantage.

A good example is an iri head on a Hutress. Its useless if they cant aim.

While Insta heals and Mori's could do with being looked at as they are just not fun I have seen good killers kill all with 4 Insta heal players and less skilled ones have 4 escapes with a mori.

Each game is different and one game is not reflective of how the vast majority go. Its evident with so many posts of late saying gens always get done in under 5 mins which this 12 min game contradicts.

Most complaints seem to stem from someone versing players they feel they should be better than but are not. You can't win them all on either side and you should never expect too.

Nobody says every game is five minutes..they're saying that if the killer is pressuring and at least doing it well it shouldnt be possible

  • @KillermainBTWm8 said:

This ######### can happen to survivors as well ofc we won't talk about that. Complaining about second chance perks nowadays is quite funny considering most if not all have counterplay. If someone has one bad game as a killer "SURVIVOR OP PLS NURF". Survivors do this as well. A killer can have an extremely unfun and unbalanced game and so can survivors. That's how this game works though people will religiously say that their side needs buffs and that the other side is a bunch of whiners that need a plethora of nerfs :/

Dead hard is the only exaustion perk that has true counter play to it..most of the others are free extenders to most killers

  • Ok..takes about 3-5 seconds to disarm a trap, stone only resets them every, 30 seconds?

Good luck sabo'ing 3 traps before it resets or the killer comes over.

Lol traps take 3 minutes and respawning randomly, yeah he will come over but it's what you gotta do , theres a simple counter..therefore theres no problem, it's really that simple..

There is NO such thing as being gen rushed...The survivors have ONE objective..do gens and escape..they dont have to cleanse totems but if they dont they could get hit with noed..Just like killers..even tho to be able to pip you need to do more than just hook people/kill them..you can't say they are gen rushing lol. Its not a thing.

Technically is a thing when a killer had 12 hooks to get in potentially five minutes..it exists..its a term for a balance issue that's all

If he uses Iri Stone he never needs to come back. The Trapper in the most recent particular case did not use it, but the others did.

I play Trapper. I use Iri Stone regularly. Even I can see why this is a problem.

    It's called a toolbox..boom..next?

You clearly don't understand my argument.

I'm not asking for them to be DEFENSELESS. I'm asking they aren't made impossible to destroy so easily. If I wanted them defenseless I'd ask for them to spawn out in the open and to remove TOTH/HG as options. SMH 🤦‍♂️

Your suggestion makes the same scenario just with the illusion of being able to hide..with this totems would be made entirely defenseless to small game or maps..I understand your argument perfectly..what your not understanding is how rediculous it sounds

  • @thesuicidefox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/624175#Comment_624175

I was playing as a 2 man. I have no control over what other survivors do, and random survivors tend to no do gens and look for totems. If you are a 4 man you can beat basically anything, but when you are at the mercy of other survivors things like this should be impossible.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/624165#Comment_624165

Except that she has to actively stop you on the totems. She doesn't have the ability to set 3 "touch me nots" in front of it so that she basically doesn't need to do anything immediately.

And it's not about losing either, JFC. It's about IMPOSSIBLE TO DO ACTIONS. Nothing should be made impossible with no effort.

It took the effort to grab 3 traps, set them..and guard them..that's hardly no effort and your complaint is that he kept coming back so literally it's the same scenario 0_0 what do you mean??

  • @HatCreature said:

@NMCKE That is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen 🤣 That match must have been glorious.

Now Fox, I understand your argument after looking the whole thread over. Your argument is solely that despite that you could have used his strategy against him and won the game, that it was still ''impossible'' to do destroy the totem. I get that, but it was Trapper, even it was Devour it was still Trapper and it is OK to not be able to destroy the totem. Totems are not meant to be destroyed, they are ABLE to be destroyed and allow the Survivors relief from it but destroying it is not mandatory nor is it always necessary. Survivors CHOOSE to do totems and even though a situation can come up where it can be impossible it doesn't matter, it honestly does not matter in the grand scheme of the match because you can still win regardless. If you and your entire team die because you wanted to destroy a totem then that's your fault for falling into the Killer's trap.

Now if you were not allowed to Exit the game and the Devs made it where you can't leave unless all Hex totems were destroyed, THEN you would be right. You would be right because Survivors wouldn't be able to choose to do the totem, it would be mandatory.

Someone upvote this guy..ty..you basically covered all the bases with this..I was honestly steamed someone was actually demanding hexes be made completely defenseless

  • @thesuicidefox said:

Play against this then come back and tell me it's still possible. I'll wait 🙄

Please I've faced prayer beads spirit doing this with thrill which is worse as shes a stronger, faster killer..you losing to trapper setting a couple traps doesnt impress me -_-

  • You can..just gotta get through the traps..its never " impossible" plus I'll be blunt with you..two survivors and one gen left..ruin or no ruin you were screwed if the killer had a brain which he must have since even minus 3 traps your team got wiped..besides, It was only impossible because you thought it was..maybe listen to a few of the others here..they gave some great ways to deal with what happened to you and there were more besides..think like I said..

  • @thesuicidefox said:

No what's entitled is to think your totem is so precious it needs to be hidden so super well and up the entire game.

I'm not asking for anything other than a reasonable chance to destroy a totem I found. Being able to set 3 traps in the same nook that makes it impossible to get to your totem is the DEFINITION of entitlement dude.

Your comparison isn't even close to the same thing. Hex perks aren't meant to last an entire game. It's one thing to except them to last for a certain amount of time because they are hard to find, I'm fine with that. It's quite another to expect them to be permanent.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/624087#Comment_624087

We had 1 gen left but someone was dead and another was about to be killed. If we didn't do his totem there was 0 chance for the other 2 to get out, leaving the option only available to 1 of us but, like any smart killer, he slugged to get the 4k so it was actually impossible to escape.

Like killers need to accept Hex totems can potentially be taken out. You shouldn't be able to make it impossible. If he wants to trap the area to make it risky that's fine, but trapping it such that it's IMPOSSIBLE is not fine and very broken.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/624090#Comment_624090

Thank you. Someone with common sense here.

Lol totems are meant to be removable not forced to be temporary or they'd be on a timer..there are counters to trapper trap and as someone with common sense pointed out he reduced his chase and map pressure for ruin so he made a sacrifice..you want to be lazy and have zero opposition..you sir..should be ashamed to call yourself a gamer

  • That is so entitled....by that logic exaustion perks should go by a token system with each exaust..just accept that if killers want their hexes locked down then you either need to try something aside from brute force..because..the killer isnt supposed to be 1v1 able...sorry trapper is good at guarding hexes, try a new rout..dont tell the devs to hand you a victory or the ability to remove killer perks unapposed..makes survivors look like pathetic helpless noobs..seriously think before you speak

  • I havent seen that but I have been revealed through trucks, cars , walls and entire houses..your likely seeing his purple addons in effect

  • They just need to butf the values by 1-2 percent each and itll be a decent perk..I'd love it as thana is a perk that rewards a killer adding pressure which means you have to be actively hunting to use it

  • I dunno man hed be like..the complete set if we had him

  • Why is it that everyone assumes killers should foot the bill for solo player convenience? We already had pig lose her best playstyle..enduring got trashed , keys no longer have a reliable counter as hatch grabs no longer exist..remember me got nerfed to hell..all for the convenience of someone else..surely theres a more fair solution

  • Sad it likely wont be Jason due to some monkey suited jerk causing legal issues over his ownership but itd be the perfect chapter release for him...hhhh...ah well..let's pray it's a cool new addition to the killer roster

  • Myers certainly is a tad overrated but a few addon tweaks which he is getting may help him out quite a bit..ghost face is placed higher than I think he deserves because hes buggy and I think in need of a couple tweaks to give him some actual power

  • Oh well..its Nintendo, they have deep pockets

  • Maybe but..doctor is getting some (hopefully) improvements to his addons soon

Well I actually did take that into account if you read what I wrote for devour hope. And I agree that totems could use buffs in certain areas, mainly being more well hidden; the new badham maps being a great example of this. And again I’ve explained why a totem counter isn’t “‘massive information” for survivors but rather a healthy change for the game all around. The biggest reason being that it would help bridge the knowledge gap between swf and solos, which should be a huge priority for this game.

Maybe but they shouldnt be trying to make them the same as swf is already considered a massive balance issue..plus..any info gain will help them as well so it's a tough issue to fix..hence why I would prefer it to require a perk instead of being base so at least itll be at least at a cost

  • @PrincessPoop said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/621459#Comment_621459

How does having a totem counter help survivors find totems? That’s what small game is for. And you kind of proved my point with huntress lullaby. Most survivors already know a hex is in play even without a totem counter, so adding one would have no impact on them anyways. Also even hex perks that don’t reveal themselves right away e.g. devour hope, you still nessacarily wouldn’t know it’s in play with just a totem counter. I mean let’s go one by one and see what impact a totem counter will have.

Hex Ruin: zero impact because survivors will know at the start of a match if it’s in play.

Hex Huntress Lullaby: Zero impact because survivors will know at the start of a match if it’s in play.

Hex The Third Seal: Zero impact because survivors will know as soon as they are hit that it is in play. And if they never get hit then it doesn’t even matter if they cleanse it or not.

Hex Thrill of the Hunt: Zero impact because survivors will know it is in play as soon as they try to cleanse a totem. Also not really a big deal if it doesn’t get cleansed.

Hex Haunted Grounds: Zero impact considering this is one killers want to get cleansed anyways, plus there’s two of them so it usually gets found early in the match.

Hex Devour Hope: Virtually Zero impact. Even if you see there are remaining totems there is no way of knowing that devour hope is in play, unless you see the hex for yourself, meaning it would get cleansed anyways.

Hex Noed: Now this is the controversial one, but here’s why I think it’s still fair. NOED’s job is to slow down the game by punishing survivors who don’t do their secondary objective. It’s not supposed to be a guaranteed way to get insta downs at endgame. Killers constantly say just do totems if you don’t want to deal with NOED and I agree, but let’s not act like it’s laziness that causes totems to remain. It’s the survivors inability to know whether any remain or not unless you are Swf. This problem of course would be solved with a totem counter. If survivors cleanse all five totems then NOED is doing it’s job by slowing the game down by survivors doing their secondary objective. If they don’t cleanse all five totems (which is still very very likely even with a totem counter) then you get to punish the survivors with insta downs. It’s a win-win.

Except your not taking into account that all totems will almost always be cleansed so devour hope at least would be dead..huntess' lullaby shouldnt reveal it's in play anyway..totems need improvements not hard nerfs by giving survivors massive information..I get what your saying but itll affect totem perks both past and future negatively

After forcefully kicking the Survivor over he instantly starts smashing their head with his hammer. First strike they go limp, 2nd strike splatters blood, the 3rd gets slightly stuck as Billy screams a grunt. Billy then stands back up without bothering to clean his weapon to find another.

Short, simple, and fitting. A bit samish to Trapper and Wraith, but Billy isnt about putting on a show. Just smack the ######### and end it.
