I would love a version to play with 0 aura reading abilities, for both sides.
oooo this sounds interesting, but highly doubt it’ll happen lol.

"
Killer Aura Reading & Screaming Perks"Off the record is limited to two 80 second sessions in a single match, and relies on you being hooked in order to even use it, plus it isnt enough time to even do a single generator. No one runs Sole Survivor because it relies on your teammates dying. So again, your point is flawed.
BHVR heavily nerfed survivors only consistent way of blocking aura reading in Distortion. Then you claim "oh just hide in a locker", this solution is only useful for BBQ and Nowhere to hide, IF the killer isn't braindead and you're lucky enough to have a locker near your generator. Most killers with any game sense would check a locker near a gen thats clearly being worked on.
"Second your list of aura perks includes quite a few things that aren't aura perks" - My list clearly says aura and screaming perks, and the screaming ones I included reveal your location. Again, please read before making baseless accusations. My list wasnt complaining about how unreasonable they are or arent, it was mainly listing off the shear amount of options killers have to find survivors.
Aura reading is problematic in the sense that it removes the entire point of the hide and seek chase aspect and allows killers to easily hop into a new chase immediately. It completely removes the skill of having to track down a survivor by sound, blood pools and scratch marks to begin a chase.fun fact - hiding in a locker when a killer is running no where to hide and you are in a locker in that gens vicinity your aura will still be shown even with you being in the locker. Hence the name. Appreciate your comment tho, seems you get the point here I’m making. Thank you!!

I don’t this would ever go into effect. You can’t force someone to use game chat, at all. If it were implemented killers more than likely would not be able to hear survivors at all. That’s silly.
However- proximity chat would be a good add on in the game to help other players whether they are solo, duo or trio or even a whole swf in game. Solo especially it would be helpful. But then I feel like everyone will be together and the legions mains will come out 🤣🤣 as they know everyone is going to be grouped up talking 🤣🤣
but whole swf teams are more than likely not going to use proximity chat, why would they if they could use say discord to talk wherever they are on the map and not having to be close by -

…Ok? An older post from me with the exact same opinion of what I just stated? What is your point exactly?
maybe the point is — that we need nerfs to killer aura reading / add ons. Basically the point of this whole post 🤣 and not saying ALL but there are way too many at this current stage of DBD

getting really tired of pallets that can't be looped, by the time you throw the pallet down the killers already walked around it
yeah I just go to the next loop and don’t bother with those tiny areas with a pallet, it just guarantees a down if you stay at it. I feel your pain tho!

No skilled survivor cares if the killer knows where they are. Hiding isn't fun for anybody. Distortion was nerfed for a reason, just like more killer aura perks are being released for a reason. Stop hiding and get better in chase.
”
Nurse needs to be reworked. Blight needs nerf tweaks. We do NOT need nerfs to aura perks or to bring back old distortion. inNurse and BlightComment byMemesisJanuary 3
lol I see you don’t want any nerfs to aura perks hence your comment. I don’t hide, the point of the post is that killers have way too much aura reading perks and add ons 😉

^ Not about distortion, but aura reading being an issue.
^ continues to mention distortion.
Those tokens don’t last forever, 3k player that can loop.
ah so you are looking to argue. Noted

Wild that Distortion really doesn’t help against the killers who have eyes and ears. Best option is to get more experience in chases than hiding.
not entertaining you or engaging to argue. I have experience in the game, about 3k hours to be exact. I know how to loop etc. the post is not about distortion it’s about aura reading. Distortion was used as an example. 🤯

I do think there are too many aura perks and addons now, it can be very hard (even as a veteran player) as survivor to figure out how the hell a killer knew where you were and clearly saw your aura to know that.
It concerns me the cycle of quarterly DLC's will continue, as we already have an absolute mess of perks and addons to deal with and adding even more just makes this problem worse
Exactly my point. Thank you.

Listen up nowhere to hide is for terrible killers. Like you cant find survivors so you use the perk and it plays the game for you like it is op no cooldown nothing you just kick gens and see all survivors like crazy to me if survivors had a perk like work on gen for 5 secs to see killer for 5 secs and keep regetting on the gen killer mains would be going crazy.
that’s why I bring blast mine most of the time. You’re going to waste your time kicking that gen twice to get any value. I’m so tired of aura reading this aura reading that but yet ohhh distortion is terrible it needed a nerf. At the rate of killer aura reading it should be buffed to 10 tokens LOL it’s just so funny. I wish I could go back in time when aura reading perks were few and far between. Lately it’s every single match at least 2 or more aura reading perks or add ons are equipped. What happened to listening for footsteps? Listening for breathing? Looking at scratch marks. Nope not enough we need aura and killer instinct too… I just hope DBD devs would do something about all Aura

@Roco45 said:
Yea the aura reading is ruining the game. Killers have Aura perks for literally every single action and then some, ontop of most Killers being released with some form of Killer instinct in their basekit so they're already getting constant information anyway.
All of this coupled with immensely smaller maps, less loops, unsafe pallets if any, no fog, and bad gen placement, it has been making Survivor abhorrent to play. Every single match of SoloQ, someone is in chase less than three seconds after start. Lethal Persuer on high mobility Killers is also laughably bad balance as most times Survs spawn in complete dead zones and there's no way to prepare.
thank you! Finally someone that sees my point.
-
yup I reported this before but didn’t have video evidence. People were trying to tell me how to snap out of it but I couldn’t at all. I know how to snap out of it. I couldn’t do anything at all in my match but run the killer and unhook. No gens no healing nothing. Just screaming all match long
-
the whole point of the issue of what I posted was that killers can have 4 perks of aura and 2 add ons that show aura. Only counter is a locker if you know what they are running. Except no where to hide where the killer can see you in a locker. The auras need to be removed and killers actually need to play the game. Aura reading this aura reading that we survivors are so tired of it

wow you mean in a game of 1v4 that the side with only 1 person have more opportunities to see the 4 people??? wow what a shocker, thank God you're not a dev.
yeah thank god bc I would make the game more fun for survivors not cater to killers. Solo queue is miserable and it’s like no one cares. Only buffing this nerfing that due to overpowered swfs. Seems like solo queue is just unplayable anymore. Glad to see more and more people leaving the survivor role because it’s not fun when playing solo. Heck tons of people are leaving this game. Look at the steam charts. Speaks for itself. Also queue times have been horrendous lately so that also speaks volume. Used to be almost instant matching now it’s 10 or more minutes to even start a match. Kinda boring just sitting here.
-
This does not address the issue. The issue is all the aura reading killers get when survivors have little to nothing to defend themselves with a killer using aura reading build and add ons there is nothing you can do.
-
@Jock21 said:
Full aura reading builds are incredibly weak against any survivor team that averages 30 seconds per survivor in chase and does gens. Git gud.
clearly you can’t read. I stated in solo queue. It’s miserable. You get good and stop using aura perks

Aw, I was hoping it wouldn't be that kind of conversation.
Fair enough, I gave it a shot!
nothing is well balanced in this game. I feel like the whole game needs a rework in my opinion. I mean survivors are going to stop playing soon and queues are already so horrible at the current state of DBD. Looking at steam charts more and more people are quitting DBD. I don’t want to see DBD die, but at the end of the day when you are catering to one side instead of the other it’s bound to happen
-
I shouldn’t have to make a whole build to hide aura. That’s the whole point. I want to use perks that I normally run but it just sucks when killers get instant aura reading every so often. I mean I guess it’s okay as all these aura perks I hope will be nerfed soon since I’m seeing them way too much. Almost every game.

Well, the point of my response is more… are they ruining the game if you have so many options?
It'd be just as easy to point to any other class of perk and say the same thing, regardless of how many tools you have at your disposal to deal with them.
I play both roles but my suggestions come from the survivor perspective. In my experience, aura perks are among the least problematic things to see a killer bring- outside of a handful of exceptions like old Weave Attunement or current Nowhere To Hide, individual perks that are independently overtuned. The rest are all fairly well balanced and aren't that problematic to see a killer bring, in my opinion.
I run Distortion a bunch myself, for the record, it's a very solid perk.
well balanced LMFAO 🤣🤣🤣
-
@jesterkind said:
I'd strongly recommend revisiting Distortion, it's a very solid perk that'll both keep your aura hidden a noticeable amount of the time and give you information about what the killer is running.
You also have Shadow Step, for doing generators + healing without worry the killer's going to snipe you with an unexpected aura read, and Off The Record for resetting after an unhook in peace.
If you're a very confident looper, Object of Obsession will let you turn the aura read back around on the killer, but admittedly I'd not recommend that unless you are very confident.
Additionally, you can always just react to the aura by making distance from the killer, with Exhaustion perks or other chase perks. Something like Champion of Light provides good distance at the first dropped pallet, for example.
Aura reading really isn't that big of a deal, there are plenty of ways you can react to seeing aura perks that frequently.
the whole point of the post is not what I can do to counter I know what I can and can’t do. However I think all these aura reading perks are ruining the game. It’s not fair to survivors… are you a killer main? Why should I base my perks on trying to hide my aura do to killers abusing every aura reading perk* / add on in the game?? Also stating distortion is a very solid perk after its nerf is an understatement. Killer has lethal boom distortion no longer works unless you are in chase and guess what no where to hide, bitter murmur the list goes on and on. Distortion is useless unless in a chase and let’s be honest a killer doesn’t commit to chases that long most of the time
-
I understand your issue. I just wish DBD would have no penalty so that way the survivors that are not having fun would just DC instead of dropping on hook screwing their team over. DBD is the only game that has a penalty for Dcing that I play. Kinda weird when they added bots to replace you if you do DC. I do not encourage Dcing or going next but I feel like if there wasnt a penalty there would at least be a bot to help the team. Most times when I get a bot in my matches though the bot just slow vaults pallets over and over again. Bots need to be looked at again. Just my opinion but if the do ever make the DC peanlty go away there would be an increase of DCs so I just dont know how to fix this issue. I am also a solo queue survivor and when they go next we have a 0.1 percent chance of escaping. I dont see why they havent addressed this yet

I get hit over pallets after I dropped them. That’s the ping issues I’ve been having. After dropping the dang pallet smh
-
@rysm said:
While I do agree, my killer games also have survivors benefiting from high ping. So this is a general ping issue not "killers exploit ping" issue so lets not have another one of those threads of us vs them please.
let’s put it like this then, ping should be less than 100 for all players. Not 1k cap I think it’s set at. How’s that? And no the game isn’t fun for survivors when you get hit from 10 miles away or the killer randomly swinging to get those hits knowing their ping is bad.
-
I don’t think we should get a penalty for dcing. Killers having terrible ping, making the game not playable at all. Rubberbanding, killers being sweat lords. If I’m not having fun I’m going next. Dc penalty needs to be removed asap. It’s killing the game . Honestly don’t understand it at all as most games nowadays do not give you a temp ban by dcing. If im not having fun I should be able to DC without penalty. Maybe it’ll make the killers actually play the game instead of tunneling and slugging every match. The game for survivors is just dead
-
lol I know the infection doesn’t progress but still shouldn’t be allowed in my book
-
I know how to snap out of it when going against the doctor, I know how to do so. I’ve been playing for 4 years. And no I do not agree with the plague being able to infect you on hook. Should use it on gens pallets vaults or during a chase. Again I’ve been playing for 4 years and all these unnecessary handouts have been atrocious lately which is why there is a decline in DBD players. Sad but true. And I will report it if it happens again. But yes I was screaming and couldn’t do anything but vault or drop pallets. Healing ect was disabled and so was the ability to snap out of it. I play both killer and survivor but I understand there’s tons of killer mains on here. I’m not stupid lol the way you all think amazes me- but as of reporting I’ve already gotten off and can’t recapture any moments since I turned off the console. And they won’t do anything unless you have video evidence. Sigh
