  • I got downed by a legion too in a snowman.

In the next match it worked normally again. I think they just bug sometimes.

From now on i will tunnel every Mikaela and every player that uses Boons until they get nerfed

And i will play other survivors and take 3 boon totems with me, so you dont know that its mine!

  • The grind is terrible.

The system itself aswell, you dont think you are rewarded.

Tons of useless offerings, perks or items/addons. The click and hold and the terrible piano UGH.

Its so unfun this system. Irrisident shards feel way better. And its harder to obtain them.

Also i already spend 8 mio bloodpoints on one character and never get THAT ONE PERK. Sorry, but thats just to much. Or you dont get the last level of the perk.

  • Technically you can destroy a killer in a match and at the end just die and your MMR goes down. Do that often and you are on low MMR where you just bully and the system lets you. Its meh.

  • Tbh, the grind plays a fair part.

    And maybe bad MMR.

But new killers shouldnt have it that hard, cause killers are dominating low ranks. And when you are new, you start from scratch.

    You're...exaggerating.

But I think others have also put it inelegantly.

Survivor and Killer are different roles with different difficulties, and survivor is certainly the easier of the two - but that's an oversimplification.

The roles are just so...incredibly different.

    • Survivor has a much lower skill floor. It's a far easier role to learn, both as every single survivor plays the exact same and the majority of survivor perks are almost entirely non-interactive. The role is basically 'do gens, survive'. Everything else is just a complication of this role.
    • Killers, on the other hand, have a lot more going on. You have to defend/patrol generators, chase survivors (and catch them), down damaged survivors, find other survivors and - most importantly - constantly make massive, high-impact decisions with imperfect intel and almost no time to choose. Chase or peel off and pressure elsewhere? Hook or slug? Kick the gen and risk wasting important time or leave it and risk losing it? Tunnel or spread pressure? Proxy camp or patrol?
    • The mistakes of one survivor can be compensated for by teammates. Any mistakes a killer makes can quickly snowball with no way to recover.
    • Killers have far less intel on survivor locations than survivors do on killer location, both in terms of perks, feedback and voicecoms.
    • Killers have a lot more going on mechanically than survivors - on top of different speeds, terror radiuses etc. they also have to learn an often very complicated power.
    • Survivors win by default.

Now, I would say that at intermediate and 'advanced' play survivor 'difficulty' and killer 'difficulty' on a one-on-one level aren't too far off (I'd say killer still takes the lead, but the delta is much smaller). At an 'expert' level however, the two separate out again due to just how incredibly strong SWFs can be.

Taken as a whole, survivor is much easier to go from 'new' to 'intermediate' on than killer is. I know that I've played maybe 40 hours of survivor and 270 hours on killer and it feels like I'm about equally decent on both roles now. Being a 'good/advanced' survivor and killer aren't too hard solo, but factoring in SWF and expert level play, killers really struggle.

    It's like...

    Survivor: New--->Intermediate------->Advanced----------->Expert

    Killer: New----------------->Intermediate--------->Advanced------------------->Expert

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2684225#Comment_2684225

I could...name a few. Someone that rhymes with 'LionSight' springs to mind immediately. And it's always 'nah, killers are fine, I main Pig and 4k tourney comps all day'.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2684504#Comment_2684504

    I did it for archives.

Survivor is definitely easier, especially when you are starting out. Going from killer to survivor it felt like I had so much more room to make small mistakes, waste a bit of time here and there and man was it easier to pick up.

I just found the role...dull. Perks are dull, there's no special mechanic or power to learn and it's always 'hide, run or greed'. There is some mechanical skill at being a good looper...but nowhere near as much as it takes to CATCH a good looper.

Tbh. most forget that SWF's aren't in every game.

Often its not 4 vs 1, its 1111 vs 1. Your mates can ruin your game aswell.

For example, a game is mostly lost, if you play solo and someone disconnects instantly.

But the thing is, its just wrong to say that survivors dont have any skill at all. Of course on the high ranks its survivor sided, when you have SWF's who all can play good.

    Oh and...

    "You're...exaggerating."

Like most killers on the forum?

  • If i dont die and the killer wastes time on me on just one loop?

    Yes, i feel extremely proud.

Didnt know that. If so, i dont know. But for the main game, its sadly unfun grind.

  • @Adjatha said:

    Survivors have to:

    • Find Gens
    • Work on Gens w/ skill checks
    • Run away from Killers
    • Save Survivors on Hooks
    • Heal
    • Sometimes find and break/bless totems

    Killers have to:

    • Find Survivors
    • Chase survivors around walls, through windows, and across pallets
    • Hit survivors with their weapon or basic attack and then not lose them when they get a massive head-start on the next part
    • Successfully down and hook survivors without getting blinded, body-blocked, Sabo'd, or otherwise stunned
    • Keep survivors off of generators
    • Keep survivors from getting unhooked/healed
    • Keep survivors from opening the exit gates
    • Sometimes find and quash boon totems

The only parts of the survivor tasks that actually gets HARDER based on the killer they're playing are "Run away" and "Save Others." Every other part of their gameplay loop is the exact same difficulty, no matter if you're a brand new player, a 1,000+ hr streamer, or have the highest MMR in the game.

Whereas, every single part of the Killer gameplay experience becomes harder with more skilled survivors. Good survivors know how to waste a killer's time looking for them. They know all the loops and layouts to run from one pallet to the next without walking into a dead zone. They have perks to deny hits, evade powers, and stop killers from caching in downs. They split up to work on so many generators at once that at least 2 pop before the first hook of the game. They 99% gates until the whole team is safe to get out. And though boons are new, good survivors will know the best totem spawn spots to get the bonus while still making it a huge hassle for the killer to find and snuff it.

Survivor is 'easy,' in that there is always a low level competency check that never becomes more difficult. And once you've learned to look behind you, run loops, and unlock all the various 2nd chance perks, the only two parts of the game that actually need you to perform above the level of a bot become so much easier as well.

I want you to imagine a game where your MMR actually affected the skill checks you have to make. I'm talking Max Madness + Super Hard Checks with no Great results, no auditory warning, and super tiny Good zones. Where not only is there a chance, but a likely one of professional streamers actually FAILING a skill check now and again. Wouldn't that be wild? If repairing gens actually became difficult to compensate for a given player's statistical talent at the game?

But no. That's not how it works. The core gameplay for survivors never gets any harder past newbie levels.

Tbh, you only listed some things.

    I add up for survivors:

    • Learning every killer and his powers
    • Learning every killer with special builds
    • You need to adjust your playstyle for your mates, which isnt a positive thing (unless you play SWF)
    • Learning every item
    • Sometimes you need to distract the killer, so the objective can be done
    • Try to rescue other survivors before a killer can hook
    • Take protection hits or take a chase...

Also blessing and breaking are in one category. You can add remembering totem locations.

For some killers, you need to look good after some things. Doctor for example with his passive.

Also you said that killers need to chase survivors after pallets etc etc, but the survivors need to consider this too?

On most things, you need skill. Maybe you should consider playing survivor for a while?

Both sides need time and learning and not everything is just easy.

Also i think that some killers "switch off o survivor" and its easy, just means you are low MMR and of course, first its easier if you already have game sense.

  • Both sides have their toxic persons.

No side is worse, noone deserves toxicity. But sadly its here.

  • @Phasmamain said:

The reason for the nerf for Keys is to prevent said tbaggin on the hatch for a easy escape. 5 secs is plenty of time especially when you dont lose progress.

Never was said that it was because of tbaggin. Still think its an overnerf, 1-2 secs should be enough.

  • Nope there isnt.

    Prepare for unfun grind.

  • @Dustin said:

Both sides should be increased a little bit - But admittedly it's likely to incentivize playing killer more. Survivor is stupidly easy and the BP should reflect that imo.

I still disagree that survivor is stupidly easy.

Its easier than the killer, but not stupidly easy.

And the main issue about balancing comes from the top players.

Both sides need more BP overall, since you have that many survivors and killers.

  • I still think they shouldnt put both nerfs.

Either only last survivor gets hatch and no key CD

or a big KEY use but multiple can go trough.

The last survivor mostly doenst get the hatch, only when he finds a key in a chest. Otherwise the killers knows.

You dont hear a closed hatch also the endgame timer still comes up, when closing the hatch. Which is still overkill for only 1 survivor.

  • Again, i dont think survivors should get the same amount as killer.

I also said that overall the system isnt good. Dont get your salt above the other side to something like that.

Really? like medkits, boon totems and toolboxes aren't enough to make gen rushing a killer's nightmare? do you think chasing only takes a minute and all the killers have to do is hit a survivor and comeback to the gen and pop it? all it takes are decent enough survivor with only few OP perks, tools, and add-ons to end a game in less than 8 minutes, meanwhile killers needs to rank other killers bloodweb, master each different killer abilities while having to deal with a steep learning curve or practice weak killers into viability and having little to no guiding hand to save them from losses since killers have to learn to play the game ALONE against SWF.

if all of that isn't as fun or rewarding i rather play as survivor and do gens cause its less stressful and not as complex.

and right now most weak killers are not good enough to have fun with or be viable for farming and when i'm not having fun i always play The Nurse, with a vengeance. and it will only make the toxicity go full circle. so pay the killer proper bp or you'll only see toxic killers.

I dont care about that discussion. Also you only see killer side, since you dont reconsider that survivors need to learn to play against every killer too? For example.

I just want a better BP system. For everyone.

    @OhEtsu said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/294325/i-dont-get-why-survivors-not-get-much-bloodpoints

The game would die if survivors got as many bloodpoints as killers, seeing as how that's literally the only incentive to play killer.

Never said survivors should get the same amount as killers.

Yes, 3 of 5 possible items are good. Man, if only most killers could say that...

You can find them in chests, use them in the match and/or take them out with you. They are indeed free.

Killers have to focus on tons of little things. They are not the same things as the survivors, but while you get a lovely clear terror radius we have to listen for soft footsteps and Nea farts over the sound of Demogorgon eating bubble gum.

Of course it doesn't. You still have the potential for free addons, and with the desired survivor rate being 2 per match, over time that averages out as one free addon per match.

If the killer 'does the objective' (kills all survivors asap) they don't get much BP either.

To earn a good amount of BP as a killer, you need to play around with survivors and at least give them something of a game.

This applies to survivors too. If you hide all game and slam out gens, you won't get anywhere near as much BP as if you actually interacted with the killer.

Of course not. But some scenarios dont let you even do both. Getting camped or tunneled, you just dont get much BP.

Also you only get good items out of a match, if you have perks for better quality, you dont even get addons.

Most of my games i get a gray toolbox or keys. Meh. I dont think its justified to get less BP overall.

    @C3Tooth said:

Survival should be all about skill, and skill check to go to Survival point. Gen point should be double.

Somethings gotta get people to play killer

Far as I am concerned, it's one of the biggest reasons a lot of people play killer at all. Quicker grind.

    Dont think its about that.

Also again, i dont talking about getting the same amount. As it is right now, its not justified to be possible only 3k BP out of a game.

  • @themoobs1984 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/294325/i-dont-get-why-survivors-not-get-much-bloodpoints

Pretty simple to understand. Killers have it harder. They are alone. They don't have 3 other killers to lean on. I play both and I have always felt it harder to play killer.

Not to sound rude, but most often only SWF get the best out of 4 other guys in a game.

    Its not always something good.

The BP grind is just not justified, its to old.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/294475/campers

Have you seen the state of the game half the time that's the only way killers can get kills. Due to survivors being too overpowered

I see this statement over and over...

Actually, i just think some people are to high on their MMR and try to compensate, instead of letting them drop down so they can play normal again.

  • @Shroompy said:

Thing is when a killer camps it is a green light for Survivors to get gens done, there is absolutely nothing stopping them from doing so.

Is it an annoying strategy? Absolutely, especially for the person on the hook, but there are many counters to it.

    Only works for SWF's.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2633462#Comment_2633462

    They don't. Not really.

Killer gets more BP on losing games, because:

    • Killers don't get free addons from chests. They have to spend BP on these.
    • Killers are not expected to 4k every match.
    • Killer is the more challenging role.

However, this is also an issue of the 'hold M1, hide, hold 'W' as required' style of survivor play right now. In games where survivors give me chases or we are having a fun back-and-forth, they'll frequently end up with a similar BP score to mine, even if they don't survive.

The issue is essentially: survivors that get killed early probably need a bit more BP. Survivors need to stop trying to 0k the killer if they want their BP to be decent.

The "free" Items, are mostly only effective in the match.

Since keys are useless now, the only good items are rainbow map, medkits and repair kits.

Also you need to survive to get them "free".

Oh and dont forget that you loose your items after the trial if you die.

Killer are the more challenging role, but need to focus less on little things. As a survivor you have skillchecks, for perks you need to activate them right and look out for the killer etc.

Survivor are expteced to live longer than 2 - 4 minutes. But this doesnt happen everytime. D:

Also a survivor who does his objective, shouldnt get less than someone who loops the killer. Also someone who loops the killer should aswell get more. But the categories dont helpt with that.

  • @Feyd said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2633450#Comment_2633450

Really? Cause I can go screw around on Legion and go out of my way not to kill and get 50k+ BP with out trying at all.

You chose to play sweaty and raise your MMR to play against the sweaty. You raised the difficulty yourself and get less BP for the effort.

Don't try to say this game is hard for killer. You're being severely disingenuous. All difficulty is of your own making.

Thats actually a good point. I think overall, with higher MMR the BP Reward should be higher for everyone.

  • I mean would be a solution, but farmers would abuse that. I guess.

  • @Rougual said:

You literally answered your own question in the first sentence you wrote.

"Often matches are shorter and you go out of a match faster."

Just like the Killer you need to focus on 4 different categories but actively compete to get the points such as limited number of gen repairs to be made, limited number of survivors to unhook, totems to break, ect.

Sorry, but going faster in games isn't a compensation at all.

You wait for a lobby, you wait at lobby, you wait at loading screen, for a game where you get camped or killed fast, which doesnt make fun, to get 3k BP. And then being in a loading screen and endscreen.

You think repeating that step is compensation cause "it goes faster"? Cause it doesnt. Also would just encourage DC's ingame.

  • @Plsfix369 said:

Because BPs isn't worth the pain and stress that killers has to endure every game, and if killers doesn't get paid properly for playing against 4 man team(who has just to press shift+w the whole match and do gens) who also tbags at the gate while their only contribution is spamming the pallets the whole game, Killers would abandon the role and play something else.

I'm not getting paid enough to babysit 4 survivors who doesn't know how to play the game while giving them free exits or having to deal with toxic SWF who tbags at every pallet drop.

Also Survivors will become op if they can bring red add ons every game and it would be heck of unbalance more than it already is.

Not just killers experience bad behaviour. I got plenty of toxic killers. Also i dont get what behaviour has to do with BP.

Survivors wouldnt get OP just because they get more BP. I mean if killers and Survivors would have sepperate BP, then that statement would be true. Otherwise, you can farm on killer and still be "OP".

Most guys here only see one side. I also presented the overall, the BP system is for both sides not good. Also i said that we should put the categories for everyone (both sides) to 10k, so we have 40k Limit instead of 32k.

I understand too that a power role maybe needs more bp in compensate, but game wise it doesnt make much sense, but for playing killer maybe. But only getting 3k, versus 15k (in the worst case) is just a joke.

Also again, why do killer have a way better BP perk (BBQ) with a much better effect, while survivors dont?

It wouldnt hurt if ALL could get more BP, maybe double BP weekends or just rework the system. I mean why perks have tiers anyway?

  • With the actual meta of MMR shifting to camping/tunneling i think dead hard should stay as it is.

    Especially with DS and BT.

  • @Labrac said:

On a 4v1 the part of 1 needs to get higher rewards. But I agree facecamped/tunneled survivors should get more BP, something like 15k points for "Distraction".

He already gets more rewards, cause he is facing 4 guys. 4x more possible rewards.

But getting out of a match with 3k...

A killer already has more possibility to get 32k BP than a survivor. Never got 32k as a survivor. (Nearly impossible, especially if you cant do the objectives or dont get chases)

Once a hex is cleaned its gone forever boons can be reblessed or if you don't like where its at just bless a new totem and move it to there.

Sigh. You come with that? Okay

    Hex are map wide.

Hex are way more powerfull than a boon.

Killer can defend their hexes. Especially with their traps or skills.

There are Hexes/Perks who make a second version out of it.

  • @Gamedozer7 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2633491#Comment_2633491

You get BP for ingame actions. I agree that BBQ is much easier to stack but whats the other options, kicking a gen, hitting a survivor, downing a survivor, you could go sacrifice but that would just make it useless. I would like to see something like a pool system for survivors. I've been that guy thats ran the killer for 5 gens then got camped on hook for 5k BP and everyone else got out.

Thats why i think the system overall is not good.

The categories are meh, especially if you are someone who maybe is the distraction. While killer do 1 thing chase, they get atleast 2 categories for it.

Survivor always get mostly only one categorie and even are getting out of the match faster.

It would atleast help, if survivor could atleast get 10k out of every match. After 3 matches with only 7k you have 21k. While most killers have 21k in a single match.

  • I still dont understand that they tweaked this for so long with multiple test and at the end....

    its just

    escape = win

    Dead = Loose

    3X kill = win

    2x kill = even

    less than 2x = loose

Why getting MMR when nothing else is considered.

  • I think its a neat idea, it should give yourself the bonus until you get sacrtificed.

It gives more BP overall for your actions, but only activates if you die first on hook. Otherwise it doesnt or the effect is lessed.

Or maybe it only works if you die in the first 8 Mins. Like an anti tunnel perk, which will give killers a disadvantage for camping or tunneling.

I also think in general it would be a good perk, since survivors need to rely on others.

  • @Gamedozer7 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2633462#Comment_2633462

I do agree they should definitely get more but at the same time there is a clear advantage having 4 people vs 1 and I do believe that BP should still somewhat reflect that.

I dont know what bloodpoints has to do with the ingame action. Its an old system. I mean even the BP farm perk is way better for killers with a better secondary effect.

Also theoretically you could farm BP on killer and give it to survivors. Or vice versa.

Also there are clearly more survivors and perks for survivors.

  • Okay, but conter nerf a Hex of killers.

    Choose wisely.

  • Heard about the issue a while ago.

LGBT+ got attacked trough twitch as a whole.

But recently DbD Streamers got attacked with that (not just LGBT).

  • Hilbilly and Nemesis.

Nemesis especially if a zombie is near aswell.

  • @Gamedozer7 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/294325/i-dont-get-why-survivors-not-much-bloodpoints

The reason is because as a team of 4 you are sharing actions and interactions between each other but a killer is in every action or interaction that gives point so they naturally get more plus alot of survivors prioritize gens over everything else so get no points for chase, healing, unhooking, taking protective hits, doing bones(jk),opening chests. There's actually alot survivors can do to earn BP but I do agree that they are low and should earn more.

I understand your point, but killers get a lot more doing their objectives, while survivors only get 1/4 for their actual objectives.

Also doing chases just for bloodpoints is just not justified, cause your main goal is survive and not play with your killer.

  • The BP perk for survivors is a joke aswell. Cause doing main objective doesnt even give stacks. And the secondary doesnt help that much.

  • I understand the aspect of frustration from killer side but....

Only getting 1 kill versus kill someone fast or camping him until death while he can do 0 in game is just meh.

A killer who only gets 1 kill, still has about 15 - 20 k bloodpoints.

Maybe most guys are over their MMR rate where they should be? If you need to tunnel or camp, maybe let MMR drop so your games are better.

I think to play the game you shouldnt deny the enemy the whole game. Whataboutism doesnt help here too.
