  • I can if he actually responds. From experience, 95% of people that say "let's scrim rn" ghost you pretty much immediately.

Come scrim then MR. NA pubstomper with strongest killer in the game. I'll be waiting for the DM for friend code.

Yes on Blight and on Nurse agitation is very strong. In general RNG perks are banned, because why should someone win because of RNG?

Adrenaline vial + Crow is much stronger than Double Speed, ofcourse you have to play differently because of the downside.

I'll scrim. Gonna DM you friend code now.

Coup and Remember Me are RNG?

Yeah, everyone knows by now that Blight is overpowered, so? And adrenaline vial is busted af, if it was weaker, why do they not allow it in tournaments for example? I played Blight plenty of times since his release thanks for the suggestion, he is pretty easy, nothing he does or can do is hard. 👍️

They also don't allow Coup de Grace, Remember Me, and even Agitation in some leagues. Does that mean they're overpowered?

  • @ProHillbillyMain said:

Yea guis almost no cooldown on power, + 2 rushes + 10 speed is worse than double speed yes yes.

    This must be NA region.

Aren't you the guy always whining about how overpowered Blight is? You should try playing him sometime, maybe.

  • @mizark3 said:

@dbdthegame Have you used Adren Vial+Shredded Notes much? Whenever I've used it, it just feels so oppressive and doesn't give Survivors a chance to play, that is unless the map is nothing but those Ormond style filler pallets. A worst case scenario 4s CD for rushing is ridiculous. I haven't played double speed enough to gauge the difference between the two combos.

Vial+Notes is a meme. And yes, I've used it extensively. Yes, you recover tokens extremely fast, but Vial's base token recovery is more than enough to be oppressive, and not having the extra speed from Crow really hurts for antilooping. Best Vial setup is Vial Crow, but Vial c21/c33/salts are all superior to Vial Notes.

  • @CECIO said:

Having more rushes comboed with the crow addon makes him better than double speed, merely talking aout probability, you have two more chances to get a hit thanks to the 7 rushes, instead of 5

This is an examination in a vacuum, not in practice.

  • @DredgeyEdgey said:

That's when you use the extra rushes reposition to a spot where you can the 10%speed means they can't leave the loop

Again, if you have a tile where you can use bump logic, you'll perform better on that tile with double speed than Vial. The extra rushes mean absolutely nothing if you can't use the bump logic you have because your turn rate is restricted and you're playing a filler you can't hug tech.

  • @DredgeyEdgey said:

It honestly is, it adds 2 rushes more mobility

+10%speed less tike to get out of way

and increases your look radius making jukes harder and easy 100°flicks

And decreases recharge time by .5s per token

At the cost of reduced turn speed wich isint even that bad because you can technically hug tech objects even if your not hugging them

    4 buffs 1 negative that's a w and the reason it's not a brown

Reduced turn rate is pretty bad. Your turn rate goes from being able to do huge arcs to basically being restricted to a near straight line rush. There are a lot of tiles where you can't hug tech. Anything with bumpy collision, or anything that's not essentially flat. Any time where you have sketchy collision and poor bump logic (which has been more and more often with these recent maps and "reworks"), Vial performs worse than Double Speed.

  • @Shroompy said:

I didn't even know people were claiming Vial is better than double speed ngl.

A lot of people argue that Vial is Blight's strongest addon. I used to be part of that camp. I changed my mind recently. People say "yeah but Vial is just pure bump logic how can you lose?". You don't always have picture perfect bump logic, and something as simple as a fire barrel being a few feet to the left or right can completely throw off a Vial user, having to use a much further bump logic spot (meaning you're essentially just wasting tokens), and it might be on a filler/tile/realm where you can't simply hug tech into the fire barrel. This is one of those cases where Double Speed can very easily make the bump logic, even with imperfect clutter spawn, and get the hit regardless. Two extra rushes mean nothing if you have to use three more to achieve a worse outcome.

it is used a lot because it is a free perk, so a lot of newer players use it; not because it is good.

There's plenty of free perks that are very strong. Bitter Murmur, NOED, Claustrophobia, Sloppy. Besides, "free perk only" category of players accounts for a very small portion of the playerbase. Typically, players have access to a lot more perks after a few dozen hours.

It being used a lot doesn’t mean it doesn’t deserve a buff. Flashbang is a great perk but not used a lot. Doesn’t mean it needs a buff. The same works the other way around.

Actually, that's exactly what it means. Being used a lot means killers are getting a lot of value from it. People tend to bring perks they get value from.

  • Jolt is, like, one of the most used perks in the game. I don't think it needs any buff....

  • One is a mori, the other is a kill mechanic. Same as PH and his big chop chop.

"...and rewards players for getting good with him"

The rewards is never lose? Really? You know blight mains can win thousands of a matches. This has been discussed and posted a lot. The skill of all those survivors were simply minimized because of a player learned a little tech with a broken killer. I don't think that is balanced, it wouldn't be allowed in any other game except kill simulator Dead by Daylight.

Plenty of Blights lose all the time. The Blights that you mention "winning all the time" are mostly a consequence of matchmaking being so poor. If a survivor put half the time into learning to play against Blight that the Blight killer put into learning to play the killer, that survivor wouldn't have fallen for those "little techs". Just about anything Blight does that can be considered a tech can be countered relatively easily.

If you really wanna talk about winstreaks, KnightLight has a ~600 winstreak with Nurse using no perk or addons whatsoever.

  • @mecca said:

Hmmm, wonder why he might be popular?

Surely it's not because he's broken OP or anything.

He needs more than a "Billy treatment".

An actual punishment for mistakes would be appropriate without all the "techs" that circumvent survivor counterplay.

He's popular because he's exceptionally well-designed, has a very high skill ceiling, and rewards players for getting good with him. As opposed to a killer like Billy who also has a very high skill ceiling but performs poorly when compared with killers who are much easier to play.

There's also an argument to be made that Blight and Nurse are the only two balanced killers in the game. They're the two killers that actually stand a fair chance to win on most maps, even assuming survivors don't make any critical mistakes, when played moderately well. Most other killers will get destroyed on 95% of maps even with perfect play if the survivors play moderately efficient.

Also, his techs are easier to counter than playing him how he was meant to be played. A bump logic only Blight can outplay almost any non-god pallet in the game.

  • Tunneling doesn't need a "fix" because it's not a problem.

  • Yeah Badham is trash. Delete and nothing of value will be lost.

  • I agree, but also, stealth is very irritating in this game, especially with current map design and Distortion. I usually run just Shadowborn on Blight, but I've taken to starting to keep UW in my build and using it when I patrol my gens and see 90% progress, no scratchmarks, and 15 lockers plus 20 edgemap clutter objects nearby. I don't play this game to play hide and seek.

This doesn't require Breakout though, doesn't even need Boil Over, survivors can do this with dumb luck when it comes to hook spawns.

When they do this, you are entirely justified slugging and bleeding them out.

There's a reason bleeding out isn't the standard go-to strategy. Bleeding out needs twice as much time to kill a survivor as hooking, and doesn't have set stages but rather picks back up progress. There is also no overlap between the two. If I have a survivor dead on hook, my optimal option is to hook them. If all the hooks around me are broken and the survivor keeps running back to the same corner, I can either wait three minutes and give a free 3-out, or risk walking away from the slug and them getting picked up and healed, possibly leading to a 4 out.

There should never be a situation where a killer cannot make a hook without any active survivor input. Breakdown is unhealthy for this very reason.

  • @Seraphor said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3571185#Comment_3571185

They're using a perk slot to deny one (1) hook, only after already getting hooked, and only for a limited time. That's about as fair as perks get.

When it works (because face it most hooks are within range of another one) the most it's doing is slowing down a snowball effect in the killers favour. There's absolutely nothing stopping you from slugging for pressure (still a bonus!) or chasing them away from the broken hook.

Three minutes is enough time to finish every gen on the map. All survivors run to a specific corner, or you happen to have poor hook RNG (which has been happening a lot lately, for whatever reason), or they happen to be using Boil Over/Breakout or both, you're gonna have very limited hook options after hooking 2-3 survivors.

  • I wanted to let a conversation naturally brew around this, but I'm feeling the need to step in and say two things.

One, OP =/= unhealthy. A perk can be one without being the other.

Two, I believe Breakdown is unhealthy because it punishes a killer for playing too well. Breakdown squad and you get too many hooks around a certain area too fast? You're on timeout.

they also mentioned that they will change his addons but once again no info about it yet.

BHVR moment. also they broke fast vaults on females again with todays patch ....yikes .

Am telling you dude the day BHVR announce the hug tech removal people that rely on that tech are gonna be spamming blight is dead on the forums like crazy , the same with the MFT nerf for busted survivors.

Hug tech removal can mean one of two things: either they fixed every collision in the game to where they work exceptionally consistently, and bump logic Blight will be even more powerful, or they removed secondary collision, and Blight is how he was in the PTB, getting caught on every tiny hitbox. One kills the killer, the other one is a major buff.

  • Hitbox is wide when you press M1 and becomes skinny almost immediately after. Press M1 when your hitbox is touching a survivor's. That's all you need to know.

  • Arnie didn't see Predator coming until he had killed off a few people in his crew already.

    I dont deny that.

It was overwhelming negative feedback. I alone wrote 2 VERY long posts about the rework and why it is bad. There where many dedicated players that did the same.

What I want to say is: this showed, that dedication doesn't mean much. If BHVR wants to rework how blight works, they will do that.

I don't agree that it was overwhelmingly negative. You're looking at this with a confirmation bias.

If you wanna see overwhelmingly negative, look at the PH changes or the Billy engraving nerfs. They were removed near instantly.

  • Make Autohaven and Macmillan the only two realms in the game.

  • Just when I finally could play Feng again...

  • @radiantHero23 said:

Sadako also had a dedicated playerbase that fought hard against the rework on the Ptb.

    We still got it.

I would not be so certain.

The rework was arguably a buff, and she received a buff from the PTB due to feedback. She got reworked for multiple reasons, outside of overperforming:

    • She encouraged, and highly benefited from a problematic playstyle (slugging)
    • She had an addon that vastly increased her power's viability, almost to the point she's unplayable without it (Iri tape)
    • Survivors had no incentive to interact with her power for most of the match (doing a TV provided almost no benefit for the most part)
    • She suffered from crippling cooldowns to her power

The only problematic aspects of Blight that most people complain about are certain addons (c33, alch ring, vial). Ironically, most good Blights never use either of the first two, because of how brainless they make the killer, and most Blights using them get very little value from them.

Imo, C33 needs hindered removed and a fat downside, Alch Ring needs to increase token recovery for 10s after hitting a lethal rush (so there is still downtime after a hit, but it rewards proportionally to efficiency in landing a hit, and the spirit of the addon is conserved), and Vial needs the speed boost removed, and slightly increased fatigue duration.

Beyond that, the only basekit change Blight arguably needs is not recovering tokens during stuns/pallet breaks, because they circumvent the cooldown posed by fatigue.

According to my math i should have gained 10.41m so if you take away 3 secs for my non tight looping (and i dont even think i loose 3 secs on that) we should substract 1.44m i should still have gained 9m, and i should at least be able to see him before he turns the last corner, the second time we do the loop, but im not gaining any distance at all.

Sorry for saying so, but that's not cheating, I'm pretty sure. That's just MFT+Gas Heaven. It takes years to catch someone around that loop.

  • Blight is one of the most popular killers in the game, and after the backlash from the Billy rework, I doubt they're gonna do much outside of an addon pass.

  • Mandy has also recently said that Pain Res hitting blocked gens was an intended interaction after a patch made Pain Res hit blocked gens (when this wasn't the case before), then has since been shadow patched in a recent patch. I'd say there is quite a fair amount of miscommunication amongst the staff. That said, I would love for an updated take on hug tech.

All that being said, I doubt hug tech is ever likely to go. Blight is an incredibly complex killer to code, and they've gotten him to a state where's relatively consistent. Besides, every day, new Blight players are learning to play him as he is. He's not problematic statistically, and requires a fair amount of skill to play well. Hug tech or not, a lot of average Blights don't perform especially well.

To OP, if you think hiding behind little piece of clutter is supposed to be counterplay, I have bad news. Top tier players can outplay hug techs just fine. Adapt and overcome, or continue crying that the game is too hard.

When I was playing survivor I have seen people prepare for it long before the killer arrived. They are not afraid of Noed. They want to annoy you that's all. Normal people would just finish it.

Sucks to suck. Get over it and go next.

  • I don't understand why this is supposed to be a bad thing? If a survivor wants to 99 a gen, let you hit BM, and then pop it, that's an entirely valid strategy. They're locking you into a 5s stun in preparation for endgame where you may have NOED. Why is this a bad thing exactly?

Gotta disagree with this test. It's close, but you're off in a few places.

1 is where Freddy's trap is. OP's trap has a decent gap, almost a foot, between it and shack. Your trap is touching shack. That's more than enough to change an outcome.

2 is the starting points of Killer and Survivor. OP already covered this but Im gonna say it again. You can just see Ace turning as Freddy came out the door and Freddy was well outside the door passing the door frame by the time Ace rounded the corner. You started turning and was past the corner just as your Freddy fully exited the door. You ran half a second too soon in other words.

2 -A, not 100% on this. But I think OP's Ace clipped the wall. Hard to see really. Honestly think he might have though considering it took a full second to round that corner and it does look as if Ace was touching the wall with his shoulder just like how your shoulder touched the wall when you clipped it yourself. It could explain why both videos look to have different timings.

3, OP's lunge might have failed to connect where a the lunge triggered an attack by detecting a Survivor, but the Survivor left the hitbox before that attack could come out. Maybe thanks to the seemingly sped up window vault as the attack came out the moment Ace vaulted as seen in his flashlight vanishing.

3-A. Looked at both videos at .25 speed and found a difference between the 2 vaults. In both videos the flashlights vanish roughly at the same time, before reaching the hay bale. But OP's Ace's flashlight came back MID VAULT when his hand was still touching the window! Your flashlight didn't come back till after the ENTIRE vault's animation. That vault is fishy to say the least and ended way too quick as seen by the animation jittering and the flashlight spawning.

You did a nice test. But #1 can't be ignored and #2-A is something to account for as well. #3 looks off with Ace skipping his animation and #3-A, simply put, is fishy as f***.

Add in OP's other video of the LT wall and that Ace is highly suspect in my opinion.

Stop making sense, you're contradicting the narrative. Subtle cheating doesn't exist, you just need to Git Gud™. Watch my video and trust my words, I have no reason to lie

I can run the test for 48 hours straight and get it as accurate as possible but it doesnt matter, youre going to point out any inaccuracies no matter how minor they are

This still gives a rough idea of the scenario provided, major one being walking around the snare. The main reason you werent able to catch them is simply because you swung too early, plain and simple

Or, better yet, you can run the test without giving yourself a 1-2 second headstart, and you'll get the results that are expected. You're not the only one with 6k hours. I don't know why this is a personal vendetta for you. Were you perchance the Ace in that clip? You seem to be taking this very personally. It doesn’t even LOOK like he’s moving any faster than 103. I’m just not seeing cheats here, only a mistimed lunge. 🤷🏻‍♂️

You've evidently missed the screenshots that show the gap between where he started running and where Shroompy started running. That's a good 2-3m gap that easily would have hit way before he ever got close to the window.

My guy, if you're gonna "test" something to prove that someone who can clearly be seen speeding up on clip isn't cheating, you should test it right. Look at my screenshots above and run your "tests" again.

EDIT: I even went ahead and broke down some screenshots for you of the distance between me and him throughout that entire encounter. Notice how I start to gain distance before the snare, lose some, gain some at the entrance of shack, then lose some again. Yes, I could have hit him if I waited a split second more, but a legit player would have gotten hit there, MFT or not.

The only time he took it wider than he needed too was when he was entering shack. Also you're right, it is impossible for him to make shack window... unless you swing too early, which is EXACTLY what you did.

Now, I went out of my way to do this because I'm sure you're going to deny swinging too early. So I recreated the exact scenario! So unless you're claiming I'm cheating as well, here's 2 clips: One of which I didn't take wide when entering shack window, and one where I did, just like in the clip you provided. Enjoy!

    https://youtu.be/nYL0As3neU8

    https://youtu.be/176O8VidasI

EDIT: Just wanted to mention it took us 5 minutes to do this, and that was mainly rerolling the map because we kept getting a gen to spawn in killer shack. These 2 clips were the only takes we did and its all we needed

You started running way too early around the corner. The guy in my clip had no idea what a checkspot was, nor did he path anywhere near as tightly around my snare and into shack. Also, I did not show my red stain.

    EDIT:

    image.png

This is the moment you started running in both clips.

    image.png

This is the moment the guy started running in my clip. Notice he's 4-5 meters ahead of me, and not even around the corner by the time I start running, unlike how you had it in your test. I would also love for you to test the T vault.

1st David vault action so fast despite having no resilence or injured. also, this is faster than spine chill level. Chasing him for man 10 sec without gain any distance close to him at all.

2nd Kate cheating is so obviouse, running faster than killers lol

This one is painfully obvious too lol. He has wallhacks also. He doubled back when you moonwalked around the back and prevaulted shack. But that boy is running at like 115% without any gen pops. To a new player, I suppose it looks subtle. That Kate is legit running at like +120%.

The Knight is a really cool looking killer and I want to keep playing him, but constantly losing because I want to use my power is awful. The guards should not be gliding or floating very slowly to the survivors locations - especially when the are literally in front of the guard. They decide to glide while survivors easily make distance that the assassin cannot even close.

It gets really annoying when the guards are slow at their job but also when they stop their job for no reason. They should not de-summon because someone goes into the unhooking action? Punish the survivor that is being chased?! It is constantly disappointing.

Guards are antiloop, not guaranteed hits. The "floating" is the form of counterplay that survivors have: the time during which they can start holding W, at which point you can start to cut them off.

    "some one more experienced"

Im pretty sure every one saying he's legit are more experienced. I myself have over 6k hours and don't see anything out of the ordinary here. His ping being at 160 also wouldn't have gotten you the hit since it only matters what you see on your screen, to him you were further back but for you it looks normal

I also have 6k hours, and that was 100% cheating. It is IMPOSSIBLE to make it all the way to shack window, even with just MFT, with perfect pathing, if the killer catches you on backside of shack where I caught him. The fact he runs such a wide arc around my snare and still manages to make the window is just the slap on the face. I made sure to hug him tight before M1ing the rest of the game. I still got the 4k because his teammates wanted to take hits for a blatant cheater, but there should be no question. I think if this thread proves anything, it's the brainrot that MFT has introduced in people's minds.

I think he got that Ace juice... Yeah, it does look kinda fast as if he has MFT+Hope active but it isn't even endgame yet...

That's what MFT+Hope looks like if you have PERFECT pathing. This guy spent the entire game loosely walking around tiles and taking wide paths around snares, and still making every vault. The fact we even have to debate if this is cheating or not is a problem and shows just how much MFT corrupted people's minds.

  • @Pulsar said:

I would have, but he should never have made that vault with that pathing to begin with. I actually LOSE distance going around the corner, and you clearly see him speed up. Again, this was just one of many questionable moments in the game. And this has been happening all week. He evidently had MFT equipped (as they often do) but I've played against enough MFT to know what blatant speedhacks look like.

I'm also pretty sure his vaults were sped up. Here's another blatantly cheated moment. The biggest tell is how bad his pathing is, but and how he never seems to lose distance.

Not to mention. Nearly everything in the event gives haste, so you can’t call every fast survivor “subtle cheating” right now.

Look at his pathing again. He swerves out so wide, and takes the least efficient path, and yet I still manage to gain no distance whatsoever. It's blatant as hell. He also had 160 ping iirc.

EDIT: Can someone more experienced look at his vault speed on both clips? I'm like 90% sure that's sped up too. It looks strange as hell towards the end, like it skips 10% of the animation.
