Hey, I answered your question with my knowledge and experience and you respond with saying I live a sad life? I wonder if that could be construed as being disrespectful. Might want to be careful there catnip18, I also see lots of people getting banned left and right here recently.

And stream sniping falls under the "cheating" category in twitch, the forums here will ban people for admitting to cheating but it doesn't specify what platform the cheating has to occur on. We both walk fine lines I guess, however I wasn't aware that casting judgement on others behaviors is considered disrespect as every single thread i've looked at does it, but at least im not trying to harm others and then bragging about it ya know?

Yeah, it’s super rare. In almost two years of streaming I’ve only been in two situations where I suspected stream sniping.

A lot of people are quick to make any excuses for why they’re having trouble.

The killer in the twitch chat straight up admitted un-prompted in a condescending tone, probably cuz he only managed a 2k while doing it.

  • @megswifey said:

I think changing your username should help because I was in a lobby last night and found out the killer was a streamer after I died, but I was just excited to hear their critiques or see if I did something stupid lol. I don’t think I could ever stream snipe because I want everyone to have a good and equal experience, but people will do what they can to win or upset others. I just hope it didn’t effect any of your ranks too much!

We had a couple killers like that, ones where it was a 2 in 2 out game and on the way out he dropped every pallet as they were carrying someone to their death hook so they could break them as the last two got out. Popped in to thank him for the extra bp since the game was over anyways. but it was always after game

  • @Kyxlect said:

Yeah, when I play Killer I watch their streams or "stream snipe" though I disagree with MandyTalk because I mean sure Twitch has ToS against stream sniping but the way I see it is, I'm not even a streamer so it's questionable if that rule even applies to me, I'm just a viewer with an account to type in chat. What are they gonna do about it? Psh..nothin' that's what. I've admitted to it plenty of times in streamers chats. Still haven't been banned.

Even if they banned my account, guess what? I can still watch anyone's streams because I don't even need an account to do that or I could just make another account. To be honest, if you don't want to be 'stream sniped' don't put TTV in your username or link it in your Steam profile. You're just inviting me to tune in....and I shall. ;)

That sounds like a sad life, my condolences =( hope you get better soon.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/188638/stream-sniping-ttv-survivors

i mean if your friend is stupid enough to put "TTV" or "YT" on his user name he's basically saying "YOOOHOOO! LOOK AT ME IM STREAMING AND HERES MY LINK! COME SNIPE ME!"

i mean would you broadcast your bank pin and card number in the street because your using a specific bank? of course not.

so dont be surprised people snatch up free intel if your going to basically stick your rear out at a sniper.

Its something they enjoy, im not the type of person to try and police others fun, that just sounds like a sad existence. This wasn't asking "is him doing this a good idea" or "should i do this" its, within the constraints of what my friend finds fun which is streaming, what can be done to mitigate the negatives so we can continue having fun games.

In the English language, the word "you" can be a generic or impersonal form which refers to an unspecified person. In this case, it refers to "a person who streams" not "the person who made this thread."

So in a thread about "these are the issues when people stream, how can we get around it" you thought it valuable to say "well there's issues when people stream" in a hyper condescending tone when the issues had already been established in the original post along with 3 posts after? The added condescension here doesn't make you look any better my dude. First step to get out of a hole is to stop digging.

  • @NivlacACE said:

Putting TTV I’m your username is just an all around bad idea, half the time if I see a TTV I’ll bring a toxic build just for fun. I don’t stream snipe but plenty do.

let’s look at the benefits, pretty much none to maybe one time viewers. I don’t think anyone has actually managed to grow their twitch channel by putting a cringy “TTV” in their account name. Every TTV I’ve bothered to watch postgame has like four viewers max.

The benefit is my friend wants to and he enjoys streaming even if theres only 2-3 viewers, so was looking for a way to let him keep something he enjoys while not causing future games to feel so bad.

  • @Mandy said:

We don't have a rule for Stream Sniping - we don't take action on anything that happens on another platform other than our own.

However, Stream Sniping is directly against Twitch TOS so if you have an admittance of it from this person you can directly report their Twitch account to Twitch.

Apart from that, stream delay is pretty much the only option.

Thank you for this. I didnt believe there was anything in the DbD ToS, though I can see them updating this if they want the game to continue growing. But he did report them on Twitch, so that's something.

  • @CalamityJane said:

If you're choosing to make your gameplay live for anyone to see, then it's your problem if someone uses that.

As i stated at least 5 times in this thread its not me, i dont stream, some of yall are so excited to try and one up someone you sound like fools. This is about how to handle someone you're playing with streaming.

  • We play for fun, sweaty swf swat stuff is just boring and stressful. Others have been helpful though and we have a few options if he continues to stream games

  • @OldHunterLight said:

As much as I hate to say this but I don't believe there is a rule that says that stream sniping is not allowed.

But yeah, increase the delay, if your friend has the TTV tag on his name, he is advertising himself/herself so I don't think there is anything that you guys can do.

I don't stream so I have no idea.

Thank you for being of one 3 people so far that actually read. The delay was an option he thought of so i may suggest that, if he doesn't want to do that and its as common as some people say, i may need to stop playing with him while he's streaming.

  • @DminuS said:

well u put ur ttv out there for people to see mate. u should know better, but in the end not everybody is stream sniping u. so dont get assumptions without any proof, but ofc in some games u will be sniped.

Its not my ttv, i do not stream, its a friends as it states clearly in the original post. Also, as clearly stated, the person explicitly stated they were stream sniping in the friends twitch chat, the only reason i knew is because he told me.

  • @Funkerlied said:

It's funny seeing twitchies get angry over it. If you don't want it to happen either don't stream or understand that you have a higher chance of being targeted. Behvaior nor Twitch can police if someone's stream sniping you or just targeting you for no reason.

Its not my twitch account, I dont stream, learn to read. Was essentially asking to see if its worth while continuing to play with this friend if their streaming or not. Noone was mad, its just less fun when its less fair.

Also multiple large corporations do a great job policing stream snipers, its not a hard thing to do. But i dont believe it violates the ToS for dbd so it wouldn't matter if BHVR could or not. Them policing it also wasn't my question.

IIRC I usually got about 3-4 Snares to trigger before the Survivor opened the gate. (shinnanagins with the last Survivor after closing hatch) so not really, about like ~5 seconds between scream.

Ok so yea, then the only way to hold game hostage is to body block

  • @Golden_spider said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1597801#Comment_1597801

The initial scream from triggering the snare would interrupt the Survivor but Freddy cannot place a new snare until the previous one finishes it's animation and disappears, then waiting for the newly placed snare to fully set up to trigger.

The doctor can do it with his shock so im guessing freddy's snare animation is just a bit longer than that?

  • Outside body blocking a last survivor somewhere they cant move I dont believe freddy can take the game hostage. Possibly using his snares to prevent exit gates opening but im unsure if that'd work (sitting behind a survivor and keep laying snares so they scream and cant open it without attacking them)

This is unintentionally the funniest post ive seen in a long time, like i cant tell if you missed a link or just straight up quit the game and its amazing

  • Right now Myers is the most fun for me in terms of gameplay immersion, being able to physically see survivors jump scare is a blast. That being said I hate his tombstone builds, they're super unfun to play against so i dont feel i can enjoy playing them.

  • @Some_Dood64 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1577940#Comment_1577940

Because all I got to do was find a survivor, hit them, and break a pallet. Then a couple of BP's for the DC's. Survivor gets thousands for their teammates DCing, then finds the hatch.

Everyone gets 600 per dc i believe, but its like 4k for surviving alone.

  • I've never not 4kd with him so yea, i'd aggree, in terms of mechanics he is absurdly easy to play. though vs high skill survivors ive heard it doesnt matter how skilled you are. Seems like moderate skill cap, highest skill floor.

  • Likely because its more clog for the blood web. They still havn't figured out how to reduce bloat in bloodweb with what we have so once they figure that out, i can see them doing the anti-map offerings. they're already doing a null-map offering one soon

  • Per the person above you, I believe the 100% cap is in relation to it cant stack with itself on multiple unhooks, not it cant stack past 100% with other things.

  • @BabyDweetMain said:

If that's gonna be a thing, they better add another stage to the hook cause in red ranks, there are too many games where we just barely scrape by with everyones next hook being their death hook.

This was a fan suggestion not a BHVR suggestion. if they did this the idea is that the parts you collect speed gen progress so if you have 8 downs before someone dies, and you get all the parts with 4 downs, you'd still have 4 downs to finish the gens in half the time which would make sense. But again this wasn't a BHVR idea so they'll likely do something way different.

  • @DontNerf said:

So awhile ago the devs mentioned a sort of early game slow down phase that functioned like EGC so im wondering what ideas people have on what this could be. My guess is a gen slow down for 2 minutes allowing killers like trapper and demo boi to set up.

One suggestion i saw that would be fun is, as a generic outline, survivors have to go get parts for the generators, depending on how many parts they need and how it functions, etc... it would speed up gen completion. like, theres 20 parts spread out and survivors can use a part to double the next 10% of a gen, so if survivors managed to get all 20 parts (5 each) they'd each be able to do a gen in half time. Obv this isn't tuned, just a generic concept. I liked this a lot for set up killers, would give them time to get ready while gens cant be done.

  • You dont have to stick around if there's moris. I just leave, if killers want to remove 2/3 of the game with a mori, ill remove the other 1/3 for them since they're clearly in a hurry. They're not common enough any more for the penalty to ever be an issue either. You literally dont have to deal with it.

  • Based on fan interest and BHVR's goal of money over quality, 100% a dating sim.

Don’t get me wrong I understand because of its style it’s just as bad as Thanataphobia I’m just more curious to why 4% before and now was too much for killer but now it seems 14% is fine if it’s on survivor ( not saying the whole game is focused to one side just some changes and new things)

Because thana doesn't only impact healing/unhooking. It impact gen speed which is super oppressive which is the point.

Moris that can kill after a one-hook are OP (except Cypress, which sucks). The offerings should not be a threat IMO, not even against SWF. Two wrongs don't make a right.

The equivalent offering would be something stupid on the survivor side, like "spawns the hatch with 1/2/3 less generators required (for yellow/green/iri)". As it is no survivor offering functions as a threat, nor should they. I really like your above idea to build them into wreaths but make them all 2 hook.

Oh you mean camping when the last gen has popped and gates are powered is bad? I'm not scum, or new. I camp when necessary. Meaning when gates are powered and no one is dead, I'll camp. No other choice then.

They never said it was bad, they also didnt say it was scummy. They didn't use any morally charged words at all. All they said is do whatever you want but you contribute to the second chance perk meta. Essentially feel free to play in a way that makes survivors mad, they cant stop you, but you forfeit your right to get upset about BT/DS by doing so, which i think is fair.

Personally I get why you camped there, a 1k is still a loss for you and a win for them, but it sure feels bad as the survivor on the hook. I know that i never once used DS nor wanted to until i got into purple ranks and started getting camped.

Oh i missed that, i apologize! you're correct. Your analogy was good my bad

  • @Kees_T said:

What are you talking about? Freddy is the most hard Killer to master, even hard than Nurse, thats why every Freddys is toxic, they want to show their dominance to show how much time they've spent on him just to be so good with him.

I think they, like me, dont play in the top teir ranks. Vs mid level survivors like me freddy is a powerhouse without having to do anything special. His dreamstate scares people at my level so half the time im one of two people on a gen while he's patrolling and his ability to teleport is insane. I know it just requires more practice on my part but i've never once had freddy teleport to a gen i was on that wasn't in a gym and not manage to catch up to me before I found a loop.

Slugging isn't the same as blocking someone in place infinitely (which doesn't even work with the basement anymore due to dynamic hitboxes).

If you are slugged you bleed out and die. It doesn't matter why the killer does it. You will die after 4 minutes (if your teammates don't save you OR if you don't run anti-slug perks that is) so it's not bannable. Simple as that.

Can't believe you take the game so seriously you even pulled the

"you must get bullied in real life if you don't play the way I want"-card.

You tell me to grow up yet you're the one crying and moaning because people don't play the way you want them to play.

    So much for being childish.

I never once claimed anything about your or your life, i made analogues to your behavior and the common causation of that behavior in others. All you've done is directly insult me every single post. No wonder concurrent players are dropping, if the vets of the game behave like you. Bringing in your friends to double down on it too. Its just a silly game, games are for fun, if this game is important to you which is clearly is, then act like it and be a decent human being.

You never explained then how multiple people were banned from the game for griefing by slugging if slugging isn't bannable in any form ever no matter what as you claimed. And I never said slugging and body blocking were the same, i was, again, building an analogue because you (likely intentionally) misunderstood everything i've said. I thought a simple A is to B as C is to D analogy could help, but you cant reason with bullies i guess.

  • @Maperson said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1543626#Comment_1543626

You talk a lot about abuse in the past, looks like you were the one who is unhappy and bullied. You don't play long enough to talk about toxicity or balance yet to talk to veteran Yamaoka who is been there much longer than you. Don't talk about toxicity if you don't see the other side of it.

I had some quip to respond but its irrelevant, your first point is totally dwarfed by the absurdity of your second. And are you seriously telling me "dont call people out for toxic behavior unless you yourself are toxic first"?? What??? "Dont tell me to stop poisoning your water supply until you yourself have poisoned it." Makes no sense.

Furthermore anyone who cares about any community welcomes new ideas unless they've created a personal echo chamber which, considering how your talking, im guessing is the case. If you care about the game surviving at all you'd listen to new people who say "behavior X is causing me to not want to play" because ignoring it is a sure fire way to get the game to die. Others on the forums seem to grasp this, why cant you? I've gotten 6 friends to start playing in the past month, already because of behavior like this 3 will only play kyf, this isn't an isolated incident.

Yall really need to learn to stay ontopic though, bubba profiles, seems to be a trend.

left behind is Perfect the way it is Might as well Say Nerf BBQ to 1M

Nerf BBQ so it shows all survivors further than 1M away from the hook, sounds fun

  • I liked someone idea with an offering that let keys allow x number of people to go in, yellow/green/iri allowing 2/3/4 survivors through, so its less of a slap to the face for killers (they have an idea its coming if they dont tunnel the key holder) it'd also remove any complaining survivors have for key tunneling (if they use an iri key offering and bring a key in, obv they'll be tunneled)

  • @Yamaoka said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1543505#Comment_1543505

Forum bans have absolutely nothing to do with slugging (or anything else done in-game for that matter).

Slugging is not bannable and I'm glad you finally admit that you're new to the game.

Here's an official list with things that are not bannable:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/editor/yn/a62szid4chxl.png

Im not talking about fourm bans, im talking about they were banned from the game. How they gunna make forum posts while banned in the forum? They weren't banned because they slugged someone, they were banned because they were greifing, and they utilized slugging to do so. For example, the devs explicitly state that bodyblocking the last person in the basement and not letting them leave nor killing them is considered taking the game hostage. This is one of their three examples for taking the game hostage. But if you looked only at the image you attached it wouldn't count. The issue here is clear intent. Idk why but you insist on being intentionally obtuse but im guessing its because people in your life do the same to you, its tedious to deal with and childish, grow up. You also never asked how long i've been playing, you made assumptions. I've been involved in the game for 6 months, but been playing for two. Surprised i stayed in this long with people like you though, the absolute dregs of the worst, behaving like someone who was bullied in HS so uses forums as an adult to feel they are regaining control.

So slugging is BANNABLE all of a sudden! Gotcha ! 😂 hahahaha I can't 😂 Ok have a good day and thanks for making me laugh again 😂

There's 4 I could find in a quick search in these fourms alone of people being banned for upwards of two weeks for four person slugging and letting them bleed out for the greifing section of reporting. Those four are just the ones that weren't removed by mods because you cant post about bans here so there's probably quite a few more. I can see why every day there's threads with people who are afraid the games going to die though, been here two months and its just so many people like you that bully and scream and shriek at anyone who suggests anything they disagree with. It'd probably be agitating if it weren't just fundamentally sad. I am glad you learned to chill though, no rage behind those emjies at all.

  • I agree with the three: bug fixes, events, game modes. In that order preferably because if they cant fix bugs anything new will be broken, and if events cant be done consistently a new game mode is impossible.

  • @batax90 said:

Saying freddy player are toxic is like saying all the survivor are toxic because they use second chance perk that just stupid

Not even close to the point. What would be closer in analogy is that blendettes tend to be useless because all they do is hide, which is a valid "character to action' correlation. We weren't discussing perks at any point.

trust me ive faced more SallySlugson's and Spirit's that do that than I have Freddy or Bubba or any other killer. At least when a Freddy wants to be toxic to me they have the decency to use an ebony and let me move on quickly.

I dont invest enough into the game to get to the level of survivor required for the spirit/nurse/huntress killers so maybe its a leveling thing? Could just be that mid skill killers are toxic with different killers than top skill (if those are who you play with). The only rank one freddy i played against was super toxic, but that's obviously a useless sample size.

Took half a second to find 5 separate people on these fourms alone that were banned for it in the past year? It falls under "Griefing/Intentional gameplay abuse." if there's a pattern of doing it with a clear intent of spite. And noone is more spiteful than those who play the easiest and pay to win killers. Slugging all 4 and waiting for them to bleed out is NOT taking the game hostage as they will literally - BLEED OUT IN 4 MINUTES.

Show me where the devs literally said it's "taking the game hostage" or is it yet another thing you "don't have to prove"?

Your right, its bannable but not technically holding the game hostage, its trolling, semantics with the same outcome. I think I will let your post speak for itself.

    Bye again.

Devs have straight up said slugging everyone and waiting for all 4 to bleed out instead of hooking is taking the game hostage? like its not me the devs confirmed this, idk why you're so insistent on being wrong

You: "he is easy and no skill reee! You're toxic reeee!"

Me: "prove it and play Bubba against me"

You: "I don't have to prove anything! You're toxic reeee!"

That's basically our conversation and anyone can see it so let's leave it at that.

As for Bubba he is mechanically one of the most difficult killers in the game (based on the number of mechanics and the punishment if you fail at ANY of the involved mechanics).

You saying otherwise means nothing as you're obviously new to the game AND you refuse to prove it by playing against me AND you refuse to post proper arguments other than "he's a free win reeee!". Out in the open? Your fault (which also applies to any killer). Free pressure for existing? Only if you're too scared to touch gens (typical for new players).

    Bye.

"bubba mains aren't toxic" Continues to be toxic and scream "what about meee! if we're not talking about me imma cry" like anyone that mains easy killers lmao. You really want to triple down on proving my point and i appreciate it. Its embarrassing for you but i'll take it. *waiting for a reply that continues to scream "but me me me" for the 4th time*

AGAIN, back to op's focus, the only two killers i've ever seen take a game hostage by slugging and forcing people to bleed out are these easy killers op. For freddy's in particular I think it comes from the power trip of his abilities, they give a sense of control over the survivors that most other killers dont. The teleporting and constant pressure of the dream state that requires no action on the part of the killer makes them feel powerful.

  • @Yamaoka said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1543208#Comment_1543208

Yeah, thought so. You can't win against Bubba so he's a free win 😂 nice argument. You're new, aren't you?

Also I've been maining Bubba since 2017 so what's your point? Was he a "free win" back then as well? If you can't beat Bubba you're just bad at the game.

The only time i've ever died to bubba is when im frist down and they camp, but im not here to talk about me or you. This isn't a bubba thread, stop trying to fix your bruised ego and stay on topic, but thank you for solidifying my point that people who main easy killers are just in general toxic people, the "but what about me attitude" is really demonstrating that to a T.

  • @Yamaoka said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1543054#Comment_1543054

Play Bubba against me see how long it takes to get your chainsaw hit if it's so easy.

I have nothing to prove to you? Your opinion of me is meaningless. And a free win is a free win, i know why you play him. I found the bubba main though, priding themself on a dunk using a childs net. Not that this convo was about bubba, your pride got hurt so you fixated on him.

Anyways to OP you typically see the easiest killers being the most toxic, because you get two groups of people playing them; those that exclusively play easy killers because they feel entitled to 4k's, or those that lost last game with a skilled killer and shifted to an easy one to heal their ego. Both lead to salty killers
