If changes like these keep happening, Dead by daylight is going down to history as how not to develop an asymmetrical game. Hopefully, smarter developers will use this game as an example and improve their own games.
But the (survivor) queues are just starting to get bad, they're not completely unbearable. Which means there's still time to fix the game if they only listened to their community instead of trying a change between 15 employees and liking it themselves.

Yeah the fact they want to hide ranks in lobby is a huge red flag for me, honestly right up until I saw that I never suspected them of anything malicious, just maybe that they were still learning as they worked on the game- but that is an active, 100% malicious move.
They want to try and sweep a problem under the rug, hoping people won't complain. They will offer nonsense excuses if people pressure them about it, prolly say it is to prevent toxicity or some other lie- when I have NEVER been made fun of or harassed for my rank, if anything it's turned toxic survivors nice once they realized there was a rank gap.
@Sluzzy said:
My suspicion is they are about to open up matchmaking because they are realizing there is not enough high rank killers to satisify the survivor base. There is about to be a lot of new killers abused by high rank survivors.
Matchmaking is "opened up" already, everyone is getting matched with everyone no matter the rank.
The worst part is, they will probably ignore every complaint about this or theyll speak up saying it is a bug or something, when its most likely because there arent enough players to fulfill queues according to rank.

Same. Thankfully I stopped playing after the Oni came out and seeing how things are, I wont be coming back anytime soon.
-
Just stop playing, BHVR will only come to their senses when the survivor queues are 30 min each
-
I really hope the playerbase drops so devs finally look at things instead of fixes like this
-
I thought that at first, but it regresses the gen right after a survivor stops working on it, without the needing of the killer to kick it. They could've explained it better at the notes.

I hate people complaining about adrenaline using NOED as an argument. Unlike killers, survivors CAN afford ""wasting"" (quoatation marks because it's not always a waste) a perk slot. There are 4 survivors with 4 perks each; even if all of them had adrenaline it still wouldnt be wasting a perk slot because there are other 12 perks in game during the match. As opposed to the 3 killer perks if they use noed.
Adrenaline is OP because it can happen during a chase and it has a 5 second sprint, like #########? they could -and perhaps, should- remove the sprint and it still would be a good perk even if it activates with the killer right behind your back.
Added to this, it can be kept on hold if you're on a hook, which is simply annoying.
Obviously it is a one time use so it should be somewhat strong, and thats why I say the sprint should be removed completely.
-
What about the reversed skill checks? afaik they're changing the random skill checks on the screen for those, and a reversed skill check doesn't seems to be much of a problem. I feel like its something every survivor will get used to after 3 or 4.

From this well made summary of the recent dev stream.
"They decided to update Doctor next because he’s the most annoying killer to play against."
He was not changed because he was weak and people struggled to play as him. No. He was changed because survivors found him "annoying" in the incredibly rare instance a killer decided they wanted to suffer playing as him. Probably why we have had so many Legion changes recently, to make them less "annoying" for survivors to go against. Meanwhile very weak killers like the Clown are not "annoying" will likely be left to languish for years to come.
Agree. Every clown main should start using annoying perks and exhaustion addons so survivors start complaining. Im sure this way he'll get revisited in less than a month 💪

Or just return tuned up DC penalties :| They suck when they're accidental, but numbers can be tweaked.
I doubt most people that do this care about the penalty, it's only one minute for the first and five for the second.

As a low end gamer the only thing I have to say is... I sometimes go into tutorial mode to see how playing at 60fps feels like

Do you know the definition of "broken" ?
No

Arguably the most "op" killer perk
Are you on something?

Not if matchmaking is broken
If its taking every rank then it should be instantly, but it takes so long
I get killer matches in less than 5 seconds
-
@kate_main said:
its just matchmaking being unbalanced.
You get matched with ranks of all kind of colors.
Nothing that has to do with "OMG,kIlErS QuItTiNg????"
Shouldn't it be faster then?
-
I was going to say legion but they're the perfect example of what not to do with a killer, so im gonna go with Plague because shes really uninteresting

The +/- 6 system is working as intended in this scenario.
I know how it works, but supposedly the range of players that search goes up the longer you're waiting, and my queues are almost instant
-
Her hitboxes have been always bad, sometimes they hit when they shouldnt, and sometimes you can clearly see the hatchet going through a survivor, specially if they're during an animation
-
I never go past page 2. But sometimes I go to the oldest posts to see how things were back then
-
Yeah the devs ######### up the sounds after every patch, it's nothing new. Killer gameplay is highly affected each time but they don't seem to care that much.
-
I'm from Argentina and I think I go to the brazilian server, when im on killer red ranks I often find the same people in my lobbies and know what perks they're using lol
-
I feel bad for legion mains, how are they still playing?
-
There is a vid of tru3 playing ghostface, he spawned and went directly to a gen. It was repaired in his face (24s).
-
They've been bugged for years and for every one they fix another ten break.
-
I think a small animation would be fine. Also I ran Ace with plunders, the good luck perk and a chest offering and I got like 8 keys in four games.
-
Yeah I crashed 2 times already and got the penalty
-
I only dodge if im playing hag and see 2+ flashlights

Please post here your ideas, since i really dont know a way to make solo survivor stronger with not buffing swf even more... unless minor stuff like an icon saying when a survivor is in a chase or stuff like that.
By buffing perks SWF don't use. Like kindred.

I was playing Huntress on the swamp one day akd was completely destroying the team, I allowed them to recover multiple times (letting the last player escape so the team can heal and we can keep playing).
I was called camper and tryharder.

I just read the tldr but:
The point of keys and moris is to shorten things up a little, by adding an 8 second interaction everything stays basically the same, just that survivors can't open the hatch in the face of the killer. This sounds right for me.
But in moris, the survivors are already on their death hook so it doesnt makes much difference. It just saves less than 10 seconds when they carry someone to the hook (sometimes not even that, because the mori animation can take longer than it takes going to a hook).
I'm not saying moris shouldnt be nerfed, but imo this would be a big big nerf.

I'm confused. You say you hate balanced maps like Badham because they're "boring and uninteresting." Yet you also hate Hawkins and Ormond which are entirely unique and relatively unbalanced.
All I can tell is you're a Huntress main and you want maps to favor her more lol.
Extreme balanced maps (Badham) = boring.
Extreme unbalanced maps (Hawkings, really killer sided) = frustrating for survivors, boring for (most) killers.
That's why I like other realms like Coldwind or Wreckers. Plus the design and color palette is beautiful.
Regarding Ormond, even though I main Huntress, when I play other killers that benefits from the high amount of LoS breakers like Ghostface, it's still an uninteresting experience.
I've stated in my post that that statement was purely a personal opinion, I hate Ormond whether I'm playing killer or survivor.

You must main a high-mobility killer if you like Coldwind and the swamp. I also like high-mobility killers, but if I'm not playing Billy or Freddy, I'm probably going to be unhappy with a huge map. I love Hawkins, The Game, and Lery's as long as I'm playing Hag or Freddy, but it's a letdown if I hit one of those as Billy.
I personally love Badham and wish they'd give all the maps a similar treatment. It has a good blend of indoor and outdoor areas, most of the pallets aren't safe, and it still has a strong loop in the elementary school that a killer has to either outsmart a survivor or go through and smash the two or three pallets in there to make it less safe. Survivors have to win a mindgame and get a pallet stun at most loops to be able to move on to the next structure, so it puts more pressure on them and makes it more fun to play against as killer.
Now where we can both agree is that Ormond is possibly the worst map to get as killer. I cannot put into words how much I hate that frozen hellscape.
I main Huntress so i'm a fan of open maps.
My personal favorite is definitely Rotten fields, the amount of fun I get hitting long distance hatchets is insane.
Ormond is somewhat open but the main structure is gigantic and blocks every possible hatchet. And the surroundings have multiple LoS blockers (rocks, trees, tiles, etc.) that do the same.

@Waffleyumboy said:
Am I the only one that doesn't hate Ormond? Maybe I just am biased because I usually pull off a 3 gen there
I *personally* hate Ormond because 1) it's too bright, almost like it's daylight. 2) The tiles sucks and 3) The main structure is just not interesting.
But.. it's an ""unique"" map so I can see why some people like it.

Badham would be a good map in my opinion, if they removed goddamn bloodlust. Bloodlust is such a bad mech and it is so outdated. It needs to be removed.
A lot of things are outdated in this game, Trapper, perks, daily rituals, etc.

There arent 120s of preventing anything. There is just a timer for a 5 s stun if you wanna pick them up. (you know that pickung up survivors isnt a guarantee for a hook, right?)
What free hits? If you hit them it counts normal. The survivor goes down. Nothing special at all.
Slugging is just a cheap way to outdo certain mechanics, that shouldnt be outdone at any time. Just take the tiny stun and go on a chase again, normally you would may have to do 10 seconds chase again. Wow, how bad for you. Standing infront a locker for 60s is just showing lack of skill. And DS + unbrekable is a onetime use for cheap gameplay of killers. Also you could go on chasing other survivors while this one is doing nothing to you at all until he can get up and down him again.
And having DS up with open gates, just deal with your loss. You areant entitled to get your kill guarenteed. and you shouldnt get your kill if you rely on cheap gameplay.
DS isnt useful as anti-tunnel in 90% of the situations. And those 10% where it is usefull youre crying about. Thats sad.
"Standing infront a locker for 60s is just showing lack of skill."
Because hoping into a locker for the same amount of time so the killer can't do anything but take a 5s stun or leave is pure skill, right?
-
The only thing that should be changed about DS is the timer. 5 second stun? And not countered by endurance? #########?
-
It actually is really fun. The only dopamine dose I get daily comes from being camped.
-
They might not hate us, but they definetly don't care half of the times. The other half they don't even know what to do and Legion is the perfect example for that.

To be honest, I did main killer for the first 1000 hours, but have been maining survivor for the next 1000. I just hadn't changed my picture in the forums till I thought about it today. Currently at 1143 hours in the game, so I haven't been playing survivor for more than a couple of months, but this counter worked for me today, and I'm pretty sure It'll work for you too the next time you go up against an Oni with this add-on. Just spreading the news, it's up to you whether its good or not.
>I did main killer for the first 1000 hours
>have been maining survivors for the next 1000
1000 hours + 1000 hours = 2000 hours
>currently at 1143 hours at the game

Would there be a perk with a totem counter, there would be much less complains about NOED. SWF can dodge NOED easily. Solos get hit by it basically everytime the killer uses it. And it's very strong compared to other endgame perks.
Honestly I feel like a totem counter is too much information, not knowing how many totems are left can delay the game just enough to not make it end in five minutes.
It's like asking for killers to have a DS timer on every survivor, it can help a lot but is also a big DS nerf.
But small game definitely needs a totem counter.
-
Honestly the biggest problem for me is how they didn't waited to fix him during the PTB and instead released him. Now I know that every killer I buy can be nerfed days or weeks later after release.
-
I agree. Oni is a fun character to play as, but it earned more popularity specially at higher ranks because of that flick.
Devs knew way earlier that he would get nerfed, but if they did it during the PTB it would mean less sales.
It's not the first time though, it happened with a lot of killers and even survivor perks. Money is money.
I'm glad I bought it using shards, I have enough to no having to buy a DLC ever again.
