Well if you consider that going against doctor, every game is a mess of sounds, confusion etc. going against 10/12 doctors in a raw, like it happened yesterday, it's getting pretty annoying.

Bring a Rainbow Map with a map addon called Red Twine. It grants you the ability to track Killer's Belongings, so even Trapper's traps on the ground. Trapper actually need a serious buff.

What about teabagging as killer (GF, pig)? Is there a psychological use for this or are they just being dicks.
Of course i think it is. It could mean "See? You're not that good as you think you are" or "See? I'm not that stupid!". And for the rest of the game, the survivor will rememeber that. I mean, the teabag can also be interpreted as a sort of "friendly" challenge between killer and survivor, and whoever is better wins. I got friend on Steam with many killers i teabagged. People mature enough not to take it personally. We take it for granted that it is a personal offense because we are used to it that way. But we don't actually know the person on the other side of the network. We think that is a jerk but actually could be a nice person.
-
Yet there still are good killers that bring home ez 4k addonless.

@Raptorrotas said:
Teabagging is a rude gesture meaning something alike of putting your testicles on your opponents face.
"Its strategy to insult" - yeah, sure.
Wherever it started, it mutated into an insult, whatever the survivors defending it are cawing.
It mutated in an insult because we all, somehow, accept to give it that meaning. As i said in many threads here, not all teabaggers actually think "you're trash". Proof is the many killers who says "gg wp" at the end. Not all, but a lot don't take it personally. An insult is an insult and that could occur in chat with words, but now it's the DbD collective thinking that "teabag" means something rude. Couldn't simply mean: "try to catch me"? Like the killer noddin with his head. Could that be interpreted as an insult? Why? I don't hear the person to the other side saying something rude. It's just our imagination that build up the anger. You know, we give meanings to things, but a "teabag" actually is just a spammed crouch animation. That's all it is.

It was just me being sarcastic. As I mentioned I highly doubt you would be so uncomfortable seeing the toxicity in action and confront people about it in post game chat for their T bag ways so why even bother pretending here that you care for everyone's enjoyment. I just don't buy it.
You could preach toxicity bad but also admit that it is kind of funny seeing it in action. I'll have respect for you.
Yes, I'm sure that people shares that sentiment that Tbag is a meme and killer main are laughing about it when they get to see it in front of there eyes. Yeah no. otherwise we wouldn't even be discussing this in the first place ,no?
That's why i wrote my point of view for new killers. Veterans already know that, because in many end game chat, many killers after the teabag simply write "gg wp". So if you're mature enough to understand that DbD is just a game, and to the other side the player could be a 10 years old kid, you cannot take "teabag" so seriously.
"why even bother pretending here that you care for everyone's enjoyment. I just don't buy it."
I'm not selling anyting here. Just a point of view, and you are free to disagree of course, but let's put some arguements down, not just "i don't buy it". As i said it's called diversity and point of views that has reasons to exists. Moreover, why should i pretend. I don't get it. Let's try to open the vision a bit more wider than this. Why not.

Yes, I seen a lot of people preach toxicity bad who is relatively popular in the community but just so happens has the best time of their life if they see a killer get a shoe in their face. As I previously mentioned people just don't want to admit this fact, it's hilarious. You can preach all you want that you're a beacon of purity and cares about everyone equally but I know a fact that people wouldn't actually throw a tantrum when they see it happen in actual matches in their survivor team.
Why call it "purity". I just don't see the same way you do. Afterall "teabag" is a meme, because the developers didn't meant to do it by purpose. I just wanna remember that "teabag" is part of the crouching animation, then people found it funny to do it in game. It desn't always mean "i'm better than you". Also, the animations are "funny-made" to break the tension of the game. In the beginning i found it irritating, then i've understood that there is nothing so bad, and i laugh because the teabag animation is actually funny. I don't preach. It's just a point of view different than yours. That's all.

If I did I certainly wouldn't be playing DBD and I'm just saying how it is.
I don't know why Survivors are pretending they did the toxic due to strategy. That's very unlikely, sure that's part of it but that's not the major reason.
Well because you play toxic just for fun, it doesn't mean that you're a model applicable to everyone. If i do, i do it for that reason and i know other survivors who think the same, because we play killer too and we know how hard it is to win, especially in this period. It's called diversity, we're not all equal and tinking that we are it's a generalization. It's also called "point of view".
-
I don't think it's unsportsmanlike. When i played killer, i found some survivors that teabagged me after a pallet stun, or simply pointing with the finger, in various occasions. I cannot hide that was irritating, but then in chat when i asked why the need of being so mean, these survivors wrote something like this "sorry for teabagging bro but i wanted to be chased, because the fun part of this game is to be chased, the rest is boring". So to my perception these survivors were mere #########, but in reality i kind of agree with them. If you remove the chase part from the game, what's left?
On the contrary, when I played survivor, I found killers who played very dirty, and then in chat they said something like "sorry for camp and tunnel. I didn't want to play this way but I had no other choice against your toolboxes and the key. I hope you're not mad <3".
So, in my opinion, during the game there are distorted perceptions about the person who is playing on the other side, because of the role we are playing at that moment. Some survivors find unfair all the powers that some killers have to ask for a nerf 10 times out of 10, because they feel the frustration of not being able to counter him, and frustration leads to various kind of anger and bad manners for both sides.
I think we take DbD too seriously, to justify these type of feelings but hey, if it works it works.
-
I just had a game where i got tunneled by a Doc and i got so many shock that i lost the count. The fact that he can use it once in a 1.5 seconds, doesn't mean that when you're in a chase he can't use it at least 10/15/20 times. All he did was shock me every 1.5 seconds. It's not spamming? Ok then but it's pretty close.
-
Well the fact that he can spam his shock treatment and negate every action with it, speaks by itself. In 10 games there are at least 6/7 doctors. It's very unpleasant to play against, not because i think it's too strong but because of the confusion it generates, with all those noises and broken skillchecks. It's getting annoying.

And those post game messages after teabagging isn't done to offend or degrade? That's a new take. You might want to re-evaluate looking at teabagging like it exists in a vacuum. This is also what new killers face. Hordes of survivors don't respect others in the killer role so it's as much about disrespecting the other side especially when they know they're facing easy opposition.
Sorry but, when you try to hide your red light, moonwalking behind a wall, to trick a survivor in thinking you're going to a direction while it's the opposit? Isn't that a mental trick that killers use to gain an advantage? Aren't "mind games" mental strategies to outplay the opponent? Teabagging has the same value if the player-killer think you're trying to offend his person. he falls in the trick.
And to all those messages like "Just don`t get upset if i rekt you" i respond: tunnel me harder! <3

When you face a low rank killer, it's strategy, because you know they might fall in, that's why i written the suggestion "to new killers". I'm rank 2 and i still face green/yellow rank killers, because of this problematic matchmaking, and it's very easy to make them run the whole map for 4 generators at least. That's why i said "don't fall in the trick".

I tilt the opponents because it's fun. People don't want to admit it but survivors become toxic overtime because the game starts getting dull repeating the same tired old process of holding generator rinse and repeat. Eventually you find ways to alleviate that boredom be it niche perk load outs and whatnot but you'll direct your focus on unfortunate killers overtime.
Yes, Tilting an opponent is psychological warfare but don't think that I'm doing it as some sort of strategy and people meant no harm that's usually the least reason for doing it. The ultimate reason is its gets a rise out of the killer and it's hilarious if you get a reaction.
Yes some players use it to have fun and brake the game, some use it as a strategy. I don't usually teabag, don't need to. It depend from the map and how the game is going.

Well, playing the game and reading the reply messages to this post, I have many doubts. In most games (8 out of 10), if the killer camps or tunnel, I read all sorts of insults and curses of various kinds. Here instead I read all mature messages of composed people. All good. All so understanding. Someone must be joking for sure.
As far as I'm concerned, it depends. If the camp occurs when all the generators have been repaired (or at least almost all), I understand it and go ahead by writing "gg". If the camp or the tunnel takes place in the early stages of the game, against any common sense and the killer lose the game because of it, then I write a nice "trashcan" (if the killer is at least in purple), because it is not a strategy but a waste of time for everyone that has no justification. I am not ashamed to say that I am one of those who get salty every now and then, if the killer acts shamelessly dirty, such as repeatedly hitting a survivor on the hook for a teabag. If instead the killer, playing in an intelligent and targeted way, without needing to camp or tunnel takes 4 kills home, I don't simply say "gg wp" but I congratulate him, because I know that it's not an easy role to play.
I can understand that sometimes "teabag" or "flashlight" clicking can trigger some killers to camp or tunnel, but very skilled killers in red ranks, don't fall in this trap and win. The "teabag" is actually a psychological game strategy. Often survivors who teabag try to push the killer into the tunneling trap. If the killer falls for it, he loses 4 generators in no time. What I can say to the killers, don't fall into this trap, so you don't need to camp and you don't get salty messages at the end of the game. Easy.
-
OMG here we go again. After ruin nerf i face better killers, because they work more harder to bring home 4k, and they does. Even before ruin nerf, better killers wasn't relying on it. Red rank killers (1/2) have absolutely no problems downing survivors, because they know how to counter a loop, they know about survivors jukes and most of the times they even predict your next move. So i don't really see the problem. Since ruin nerf i face most of the times better killers. Those who aren't good enough, stay on the bottom of the rank, and this is how should work also for survivors, that rank very easily. So please, stop crying and get better killers.
-
mmmmBYE!
-
@xCarrie not only keeps people interested, but brings money to the company and help to keep the game alive. They should do both in my opinion.
-
"The reason for why camping is bad is because it is considered “toxic”. If Survivors want it punishes die to it being toxic then Survivors should be punished for doing things that killers consider toxic as well."
I personally don't consider "camping" toxic, but as a killer don't earn anything from it. Infact the majority of killers i face everyday, who are constantly in red rank, don't camp at all and they bring home 3/4K ez. Those who camp are usually rank green/purple who get stuck in long tunneling chases. You're not getting good at the game, you're just waiting for a teammate to come for the save, so you can have free hits and a chance to down another one without the need of a chase. Try instead to learn how to chase, mind game, counter loops etc. Camping is not a value. Almost all games where i find a hook camper 2/3 survivors escapes without many problems. So, i don't get the value in it.

This is a Game. The point of a Game is to have fun. This unyielding stress-fest of toxicity and stupidity is not fun.The larger portion of survivors i've met do the things I've stated. Perhaps my view is a bit jaded, but to me it's ultimately a matter of "Did I have fun, and did my opponents have fun? Did I learn or gain anything from this interaction?" And typically the answers are "No, yes, no."
Well, "toxic survivors" are usually (but not always) people who has some sort of skills. So i let them teabag as much as they want as long as i learn how to counter their escape attempts. With good survivor i have a chance to learn from my errors. With potatoes isn't the same. So, yeah. teabag me as much as you want. I don't care, if you indirectly help me to get better at the game you can also triple blind me. I don't care. But this is me, i can understand that isn't the same for the others. I get what you mean about "having fun". Message clear.

"Toxic" Because you survivors certainly don't teabag at the gate, or on missed swings, or after blinding, or after pallet stunning, or........
When you say "you survivors" you are generalizing. I personally don't teabag because i play killer also, so i know how it feels but i've learned to deal with it. But i don't stab people on hook even when they teabag. Actually the animations looks funny and makes me laugh. Many people take this game too seriously in my opinion. It comes from a Canadian company. How can be taken seriously c'mon.

So when will Survivors get punished for T-bagging and flashlight clicking? I mean, they are toxic behaviors and should be punished. For each t-bag the killers speed should increase by 10 percent. For every flashlight click the survivor should have a completed gen get completely broken down.
Well t-bag and flashlight clicking doesn't affect the game at all like camping a hook does. They have no relevance in gameplay mechanics. That could irritate the killer, but if the killer gets irritated by it, it's his own problem. When i play killer t-bag and flashlight clicking make me laugh, not because i feel superior but because the animations are funny. What the players in general should understand is that DbD isn't a serious game at all. It's a dark-tragic-comedy mood and doesn't need to be taken seriously! Look at the animations! It's a cartoon!
Once in a chat a killer said "i don't care about bloodpoints i just wanna kill people". You know, if you take this game with this mindset at the point to get angry because of t-bag and flashlight clicking, and you stab a survivor on hook, you need pills. DbD is fun and frustrating at the same time, i know, but it doesn't need to go that way.
-

The reason they stab while u are on the hook is that originally it sped up the process , but that was years and 50 updates ago.
I don't know before, but now they clearly shows a toxic behavior, confirmed by the insults in end game chat. I've seen even skilled Huntresses hatchetting survivors on hook, and they know that stubbing people on hook don't speed up the process.

2X faster gen times while someone is hooked? I don't think i have ever heard of a worse suggestion in awhile
He said "if the killer is within a certain radius of a hook". Speed up gen X2 still an exaggeration tho. These killers are struggling a lot lately. I agree btw that if the killer persist camping inside a certain range from a hook, he should have same penalties. Many killers don't use camping or tunneling like a strategy. I have seen killers repeatedly stab survivors while on hook. That shows a toxic behavior and should be punished.
Stabbing people while on hook. These people need a doctor. A very good one.
-
A 5 minutes chase?! Dude! Really? A chase longer than 30/45 seconds is already way too much. If you see that a survivor is skilled (and you can see it pretty fast from his movements and if he looks at you while running), go chase someone else. In a team of 4 people there might be 1 or 2 that are really good. The other are potatoes for sure. Put the pressure chasing weak survivors, in this way you force the good ones to go for the save. This is how you put pressure. What you killers don't understand in full is that you don't rank up only killing people, but preserving gens. Stay on gens.
One good strategy is this: count how many gens are in one side of the map and stay on your side. Let the survivor make the gens to one side of the map, then they'll have to come where you are. Patrol your area and defend at least 3 gens on a "triangle" formation. In this case you win. The only chance to escape they have is find a key in a box.
-
As stated in many topics like this one, close the end chat game solve the issue, and moreover it's useless. Just a constant flow of insults of every kind apart some sporadic "gg". DbD is a game that generate a lot of frustration, because of the nature of its mechanics. Not that DbD is the most toxic online game eh? You should see LOL, Team Fortress 2 and many many others. Toxicity happens because people hides behind a screen, with no public ID data whatsoever. Meet them in real life and they are like docile pups.
-
Impossibile to get Jason inside DbD for now. It's already been licensed for Friday The 13th official game. Btw, i think that Behavior should keep the trend to create original characters like Oni instead of collecting official killers. The licensed one are the most boring than the original ones in my opinion.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/438740/Friday_the_13th_The_Game/
-
Look at this one. Poor trapper!
-
Close the end game chat. Easy as that. I keep mine always closed. They should even take it out from the game. It's useless.
-
Noed? Barely useful at red ranks. After 1800+ hours it's never been such an issue, so i don't hate it. It's just a reason to stay on the map one minute more to make more points. Sorry bu after the 5th gen pops up, with Resilience i open the gate faster and i'm out. Noed it's the last chance to have at least one/two kills, but as i said, it's perfectly counterable cleansing the totem and BT. So, nothing to get too excited about it.
-
@Favi_MPx blacklist people from server because of bad manners is a good idea and very easy to do. But i think that Behavior's devs go careful in bothering players too much. 20K players aren't enough to justify too much punishments.

Not the point, I am not upset at their comments, I wonder why Survivors despise how the Killer plays regardless of it to being their liking or not, disrespected if being nice, hated if playing unfavorably, closing the chat is like when someone starts saying rude things to you continually, you close your ears, it's a band aid fix but it gets you nowhere.
It's because of the psychology behind the game and it's all about how people perceive your role as a "killer" inside the game. You're the bad one, you know? If people die on the map because you did your job, is very difficoult for some players to discern. So they get salty because of the frustration, but they are not mad at you, they're mad to themselves. They just need someone to blame, and it's very easy to blame "the killer".

Latency is predictable!
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0167739X08001933
https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/06/190624111038.htm
"Professor Byungjoo Lee at the Graduate School of Culture Technology in collaboration with Aalto University in Finland presented a mathematical model for predicting players' behavior by understanding the effects of latency on players. This cognitive model is capable of predicting the success rate of a user when there is latency in a 'moving target selection' task which requires button input in a time constrained situation."
I took the examples of Fortnite for a reason. In Fortnite there are 100 players on a single map. 100! Imagine playing it with the same issues we find in DbD! And DbD has 5 players on one map! 5!!!
-
A temporary solution could be reduce the killer attack cone range in proximity of a window. The fact that the killer mantain the same attack range distance after voult, is something unthinkable. It is like the killer arm is made of gum. Reduce the killer attack cone, just a bit, close to windows and pallets. 5 minutes of C++ code.
-
@forthelulz thank you for the infos. Gonna try that. 😊
-
@forthelulz That is interesting! You did this config editing \AppData\Local\DeadByDaylight\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\GameUserSettings.ini ?
BTW, is it normal that a person who bought a game has to figure out how to "minimize" client issues analizing data packets? I mean, kudos to you dude, but if I were the software company I would take a bath of shame for that.
-
@forthelulz Yes the fps are locked at 60 and the rig is powerful enough to have enough stability to run way more complex games than DbD. The hit after voult is simply ridiculous in most of the situations. When you're in chase you've have to eyeball the distance, and you take decisions because of it. Then it comes the "latency". So you have to "mentally" subtract latency from your distance, and correct your next moves. It's hilarious. So always looking at the killer doesn't makes so much sense. There are Hillbilly chainsaw hits after voult that makes no sense at all. The problem aren't the hitboxes like everyone think. The problem is the "attack range cone" in front of the killer, and the player has absolutely no clues if the distance is far enough to take right decisions. Latency is predictable and fixable. I don't know why this game is different from any others. Think about Fortnite, same engine, but his code is close to perfection and has many latency predictability algorithms to adjust everything at runtime. Why DbD is different. Maybe the engineers are way better, or better paid.
-
Btw Dead By Daylight forums isn't a form of psychological therapy for anger, where you can throw up all your frustrations because you don't get good at playing the game. You have to understand that not all survivors face the same issues as you do, because with time and patience, we've learned how to loop and juke a killer without any worry. It only takes time and practice. So bye. Don't think DbD community will miss you.
-
I play both sides and i understand that all the toxicity and complaining that comes from killers and survivors is just frustration. When i play killer i use Billy 'cause i just love his mechanics, and if survivors makes mistakes, Billy is the only killer who punish them straight away. No second chance. Down. If i play OK i get at least 2k and a GG in chat. If i perform very very good i get 2/3 DCs in a raw, and that happens a lot. So survivors can DCs instead of acknowledging that they played like boiled potatoes, and the killer have to be considered an hypocrite? If i play Billy and i down you in 4 seconds, i know, it's frustrating but these are game rules. Or you accept how the game works or it's time for both survivors and killers to get back to Minecraft. I really don't care about DS because i slug, and there are many other killers who don't give a ######### about it, and if decide to be stunned by a DS is just to get rid of it.
Keep in mind: Killer's territory, Killer's rules, not yours.
-
In the past I have recommended it. In the state it is right now, not anymore. Too many bugs that get worse with each new update, server side latency-weirdnesses never experienced in any other online game. Inexistent hits through walls or at long distances and the list is full of other OMG stuff. Bugs usually are getting corrected every patch in all games. DbD it's the only online game I know that breaks stuff that was working perfectly at every new patch. I still playing it because, somehow, after 1800+ hours still entertaining, but i have to passively accept all its frustrating impefections, but i won't recommend it anymore.
-
I play killer quite a bit but mainly i play survivor. When i play killer (currently rank 5 too), if i'm lucky enough not to get into an SWF lobby, isn't that bad to be honest. Random players in solo queue are manageable. But when i get into a full squad of SWF dream team, i'm lucky if i can get one kill at the end of the game, especially in large maps like Wreckers' Yard. Usually they move in this way:1 one looping god that drives you crazy with window and pallet loops, 1 chasing you with a flashlight in case you down his friend, and the other 2 genrush the hell out of you armed with prove thyself and toolboxes. Yeah you can leave the chase and go to generators, but as soon as you leave, they start doing another generator. They should nerf SWF instead of HEX perks. So i understand you bud. If you don't play really dirty and sweaty, it's a loss from the start.

I just find it hard to agree with game ruined because I learned awhile ago ruin is a wasted perk slot due it to being broke quick, I adapted without it, I'm a rank 12 who plays against red ranks 90%, of my matches, some matches are bad and some are good, nothing I can do about that, just have to get on with it
Yeah that's another serious problem: matchmaking. When i play killer i end up with rank from 3 to 1 survivors. When i play survivor (i'm rank 2 at the moment) i end up with rank 10/9/8. I mean it's really impossibile with this game to predict how things will end up. I just depip for many reasons that sometimes doesn't directly depend on my own errors.
-
When i play survivor (solo queue) i never get looping gods teammates who can run the killer for at least 2 generators, only potatoes who go down in 8 seconds. When i play killer i always find a squad of Satan's spawn on Earth, armed with ultra blind flashlights and toolboxes so overpowered that can make a gen in 30 seconds. SWF usually move in this way: 1 looping god who makes you mad the whole time, 1 following you with a flashlight, in case you down his friend and the other 2 are on a genrush. Gens are done so quick you don't even realize how many minutes passed since the start of the game. And this was happening before the ruin nerf. Think about it now. Only when i use Billy or Freddy, with the right build, i have some good chances to get at least 2/3k. SWF is a real issue for killers. Ok i'm not a red rank killer, i get 5 or 6 usually, but i'm not even that bad compared to many others. With solo queue surv i have almost no problem at all, but with SWF the only thing i can do is mori the first survivor before the third gen pops up. Then i have some chances.
-
Oh well, here they come. All red rank killers who can wipe an SWF genrushing squad in no time. Yeah yeah. Sure. Of course. Blah blah. All top players when it comes to face the reality.
@BenZ0 Mental recover? I love you too.
-
Well, i play killer as well but mainly i play survivor and i kind of agree with his opinion. Instead of nerfing SWF (there are many solution that could be applied to solve the problem), they nerfed the only one perk who was really helpful for some low map-pressure killers. But i might add that good killers in DbD, never used ruin even before the nerf.
I played some games yersterday, mostly of them the killer was running Corrupt Intervention with no ruin at all, and blasted the entire squad anyway. Apply pressure doesn't mean you have to be anywere on the map at the same time. Some very good Billy for example, apply the strategy of protecting the generators in one side of the map, and it works. But i agree that against SWF is really frustrating and there is so less you can do, except mori'em or patrolling the hooks etc.
One rapid solution to SWF is when you're in lobby and see they have more than one flashlight or more than one toolbox, then leave the lobby straight away. Many red rank killers do like that.
