DS is fine.

at a certain point sbmm is a pit. Play with a less practiced friend and your number tanks and you get people that haven't a clue what they're doing then you get stuck there.
Hatch should give a small boost since it isn't a meaningless escape devoid of some skill. After a certain threshold of earned bp you should get a little something if anyone escapes. Make sitting on gens the least boosting followed by saves and chases escaped.
sadly i agree.

If a survivor has stretched rez and 6k hours while never making a mistake then it is boring and may as well be playing against an AI.
-
Plenty of people not playing until they fix the ip leaks/ ddos problems.

Why do you feel the need to exploit with blight? He's a top tier killer at base even without the j flicks and hug techs and 100000 DPI and other exploits. Just practice as he was intended to play and I'm sure you will still win a lot, and be having a lot more.fun. :)
Because they all cheat. I am a killer main and even i snooze when its a blight while i do my daily or challenges. It's the same with Oni players. they all 180 cheat unless they are on console.
-
Blight and ONI because there is a 90% chance they will cheat and bypass the turn restrictions.

Stack it with caged heart shoes.

A lot of his addons need to be reworked for sure, that is about it honestly. Which is funny enough, what needed to happen originally. Was slight tweaks, but BHVR isn't great with small changes clearly.
As stupid as the overheat mechanic is, I managed to more or less get used to it, not that it really changed a hell of a lot for his gameplay.
I still think his battle roar needs a little change to, just sounds... Meh..
BHVR just likes to mess and change for the sake of change most of the time is what it feels like. Which can get kind of annoying.
Forever Billy though 😁
They made the saw way to loud and the roar gets on my nerves. I have legacy billy but i just can't stand playing him just from the noises he makes alone, not to mention all the other nerfs.

They do (I belive) but the problem is that it takes times long time for support to check and solve each case because they are offten overhelmed.
Also many people reporting people without record evidence, making the report "worthless" since you need to have good prove of their cheating. Not just in-game reports.
Update the game so it records the match for hacker reports only.

This just similar to saying not using Calm spirit when vs Doctor is stupid.
No it isn't. kindred works on all killers and always gives needed info during hooks. Calm spirit vs doc is just luck and has less value against other killers although not scaring crows is beneficial.

After 40sec and hooked guy is still on hook, I will think of others rushing Gens and I come to unhook him. Just to see other 2 guys also lurking around the hook. Because Kindred is not always happens.
Solo isnt stupid, they just lack of info.
The fact they are playing solo and not using kindred means they are.

Nah, tunneling/camping is okay i guess, i mean it exists but i have seen less campers the last few days. But for looping/map control, i see more and more less experienced players.
Do you know how tiring "mindgaming" as killer gets? Why is it all up to the killer to hide a damn red stain that survivors alter to be brighter and larger while fighting stretched rez and esp cheats where the moment you try something they just... run away from the loop.

Giving tools for free is dumb when the whole game revolves around using/ the use of perks.
Want to extend chase- Dead Hard
Want to heal- Self care, inner healing, COH
Want protection after an unhook- DS
Why should a totem counter being base kit be a thing when you can just run Small game?
It all goes back to survivors not wanting to stop using the same 5 perks.
SWF will always be stronger than solo's and there's nothing you can do to combat that...any buffs to solos are buffs to swfs too.
Giving solos information that swf already have is not a buff to swf.

Kindred is way too strong for a basekit. You'd have to give killers Deerstalker and BBQ baseline to compensate.
Ping system and emote wheel? Yeah, that should be a thing.
You have a counter to totems. It's called Small Game.
If you buff solo Q, then buff killers - now SWF struggles. You can't just make huge sweeping changes to balance - there is always a knock-on effect.
Base kit totem counter that everyone can see instead of forcing a stupid perk that only one can see. SWF already have kindred through coms so why would it be too op?

Sprint Burst is better.
Factually false. It has been proven that you gain less distance with Sb compared to overcome

It will break the game (even more) if survivors use it correctly. Trickster will be deleted by it.

Yeah, it's tricky.
On one hand, you can't just 'buff' solos without somehow nerfing killers.
As the poster above me pointed out, BHVR has already made numerous changes to survivor perks to help solos, almost all of which have made it harder for the killer in all matches. They've also nerfed the everloving hell out of Pinhead's addons purely for the sake of solos. And Pinhead was mid-tier, at best.
The problem is that the game can't be balanced around both solos and SWF, and in that scenario, you have to balance around SWF.
There isn't really an answer to this.
And yes, boons are just a problem on many levels. They should never have been added as is, and will likely get reworked heavily as the game moves forward.

VHS is...interesting. It's very different from DbD, and looks pretty janky too. Honestly though, competition is always good.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2629572#Comment_2629572
Shrug. NOED is strong, and a pretty annoying perk to face. It's nowhere near as strong as people make it out to be and only really good on some killers and combined with other perks (NWO is the biggie).
At worst, you'll have to sacrifice someone. If you already had 2 dead before NOED, you would have lost anyway if they'd brought different perks.
One thing that survivors need to do more outside of high level games is to learn to figure out which perks the killer is running. If he has 1-2 'blank' spots, anticipate NOED.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2628544#Comment_2628544
You won't force players to be better, or to work better as a team artificially. This is something that has to come from time and practice.
You can buff just solo's and then buff killers to deal with the fallout. Kindred base kit, ping system, chat wheel, totem counter. not hard to implement, but they stupidly refuse to do it and just keep tacking crap onto perks that just hurt solo players to run instead of the meta perks that swf run every single game.

No they won't.

It takes you two seconds to snuff out a totem, while survivors waste 15/25. Just do bones and use the time they wasted on them, nothing hard about that.
When you blatantly ignore everything outside of pure time vs time it looks bad. When you join reality then you see how costly boons are for the killer to snuff.
Not much point arguing with someone already set in this mindset so all i can say is get to high mmr as killer (if that is even possible for you) and you will see how bad it is.

I’ve had more problems with boon totems on the survivor side. My teammates just endlessly bless totems, very costly.

What? Killer's power is totem? What are you even talking about?
My bad. Looks like i need to get it together since i wasn't thinking about the new killer but HEX: Blood favor.
-
@Junylar said:
What about the killer power that can just block any loop, leaving "shift+w meta" as your only option? At first killer mains welcome killers which promote "hold W" strat, and then they complain about "hold W" strat.
Its a totem so totally worthless since it can be permanently removed from the game, unlike BOONS. get it together man.

High skill, low reward killer.
His chain is difficult to land while randomly potentially offering little in return. SWF is a heavy counter to him. Everyone is expecting an unjustified nerf so why bother learning him until they gut him?
Lawl i was correct
-
It has it... for the survivor.
-
@DangerScouse said:
So.... "in theory". If everyone playing the new killer in test "just happens" to get zero kills and 4 escapes (ooopsy), there would be no reason to nerf....... right? Just ya know, in theory.
The sad thing is they use ptb data to balance a killer. An environment that has zero reason to win and has no mmr is taken seriously.
-
Survivors disconnected in 4/6 games i had today with pinhead. 2 of them were at the start of the game when they saw what i was playing.
My theory of game balance being determined by kill stats and DC rates is adding up.
-
@TheDarkTyrant said:
4 isn't that back. Think about it. It's 4 hooks spread across the map. There is bound to have one near when needed in most matches.
They don't always spread. I have had games when pinhead came out where they all spawned in one corner of rotten fields or red forest.
-
They don't just use kill rates, they use twitter complaints and DC% against a killer to determine survivor "FUN" factor. the most important thing is the target audience is happy and buying cosmetics.
Nurse doesn't get a real buff because her DC% was insane before the nerf.
Deathslinger was nerfed based on Dc% and complaints rather than kill stats.
-
Wait for noed and then shove a boon on it.
-
Boom stuff you: When the killer walks within 24m of the boon they are frozen in place for 20 minutes and then disconnected from the game.

It might not be a lie. He may be overperforming at the mid-level. What clearly is a lie is that they look to the top 5% of players for their performance testing "Wraith is a wee bit OP" after all. Either that, or they really do look at the top 5% of killer players, but don't make sure that they only look at data where they verse the top 5% of survivors.
Its the later. They ignore the survivors that the killers get and only focus on the kills the top 5% get.
I still get a mixed bag with my survivors where some will be a cakewalk and others i may as well afk.

NURSE BUFF?
"survivor main complaints on twitter" This is why nurse doesn't get buffed. Freddy and pig did get nerfed.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Overperforming and fun to play against aren't the same thing, but both are taken into consideration when it comes to making changes. Freddy wasn't reworked because he was strong. Many players don't enjoy playing against Pinhead. Solving the box and dealing with the chain hunt at the same time is extremely annoying, as is the Hoarder/Franklin's box chaser build.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2625010#Comment_2625010
Not even remotely true. It has been datamined that there are generally far more killers in queue at high MMR than survivors.
Probably because the game is full or trash survivors and you can get stuck in low mmr because your skill means nothing if your team doesn't do generators.
I can already tell you don't play killer beyond a friendly daily since you are talking about the fun of survivors while ignoring the killers fun.
-
They gutted pinhead so they will probably delete this one.
-
What did you expect? Didn't you see him at the top of the kill chart they released?
That chart is all that matters to them and the survivor main complaints on twitter. Nothing said here is ever seen by a dev.
-
When they start refunding window vaults and basic hits the killer population will plummet.
It seems they already have a soft refund in for basic m1 hits. For the past couple of days i have had survivors cancel out my basic attacks by changing direction (i am holding to lunge but it swings anyway) Huntress has hit validation tacked onto her hatchet throws. watch coconutrts to see this in action.
Its only a matter of time.
-
No. They are driven by what makes the most cash though. Their pr department does stink of a survivor main the way they write. "enjoy it while you can, killer mains" being the last example.
-
It is still annoying on pc, not just console.
The reason it has recoil is because we have balance developers that don't understand how strong team wide free self healing is and made a perk for it.
-
I mean, you said it yourself. Ever since boons got released camping has been on the rise. Perhaps there is a correlation and an easy solution to fixing that problem hmmm.....
Nah.. we can't nerf the new toy for at least 2 years.

I'd say this is the only exploity flick in the game. It kinda removes all counterplay which isn't fair so I won't be too disappointed if it gets removed. Blight flicks on the other hand can stay

SWF survivor trumps killer. Killer trumps solo survivor. I thought this was well known.

I've got a question for the mods like Mandy, or whoever can respond:
If survivors abuse of stretched res, am I allowed to abuse exploits like this to counter back? If using stretched res isn't bannable, why should this be bannable then?
It isn't bannable. It just needs to be removed. Stretched also needs to be fixed but it is also caused by external factors rather than just buggy code.

It is an exploit just like blight. the problem is he isn't popular enough to bother fixing and not enough people know how to do the exploit. If he suddenly exploded in popularity like blight did then they would probably remove it.

The max you can turn is 90+ the extra rush turn mid lunge. Dpi only influences how fast you flick 90 now and nothing else. Also the "constantly swiping your mouse (z flick)" only works like 2% of what it was after they patched heli blight. Blight's really can't true 180 flick anymore out in the open. They technically can with adrenaline vial but the most of a flick you can get is like 110 degrees.
Then why am i seeing it happen? 2 games the blight started the lunge on one side of a log loop and just lunged around the end of it to hit the survivor on the other side. he did not face the log to do a hug tech. The last game i played i ran past the blight and the next thing i know he flipped around and hit me out in the open.

Welcome to mmr hell. Once you get there you can't escape because the developers don't think.
To escape you need the other 3 survivors to actually do something other than crouch in a corner. It doesn't matter how long you run the killer or how many saves or gens you do. If you die you ######### suck and need to be even lower mmr in the dev's eyes. Even the hatch can't save you because it doesn't count towards it.
Massive oversight.
