  • If that happen, rip to scratch mirror Myers

  • I was excited because I thought they were to rework the swamp, that map is awful 😭

    So basically:

    • Survivors whine about tunneling.
    • Devs give basekit BT.
    • Survivors now bodyblock off the hook, essentially FORCING Killers to tunnel them.
    • Killers: We want to stop tunneling but you are bodyblocking.
    • Survivors: Just hit them!
    • Killers hit them.
    • Survivors: Whaaa! I'm still being tunneled! Give us punishments! Give us abuseable mechanics! Remove tunneling!

Is that about how it's going right now? Because your reply to INFINITE BT TO PREVENT TUNNELING is 'Just tunnel them!'

Oh, but don't DOWN them, right? Downing them would be bad, but just HITTING them, and getting all the slowdown of a hit, is ok! Just hit them, get the slowdown & weapon wipe animation, and let them escape, or it's TUNNELING! 😮

Survivor entitlement at max; "Give us infinite BT to prevent tunneling, then hit us if we abuse it to bodyblock.'

There's a difference between going for the same survivor who just got unhooked and a survivor who bodyblocks.

If a survivor try to bodyblock you and you downed them, well, is their fault not matter how much they cry

But that's tunnelling, which is apparently the problem...

The difference is that person really want to be tunneled.

I don't like to tunnel, but if a survivor just bodyblock me instead of going away and heal, well, I'm gonna down them then

Pause the BT timer if the unhooked is being chased

No. Unhooked Survivors already bodyblock with basekit BT. This idea means the Kilelr now HAS to hit them, or be permanently bodyblocked by someone who has infinite BT until hit.

    Hit them then

  • What I hate about this new wiggle system is that your bar is full and still you can get hooked.

I assume this already happens tbh, although I don't know because I'm on console and we aren't given a post game chat which I hate

Kinda, but I'm saying this if we can see post game if we played against a full SFW or a SoloQ team

    100% faxs

i don't see any issue in revealing swfs post game and it would be nice to know how often you beat or lose against these players. Unfortunately the devs have made their position on showing swf clear.

I just can see the post chat

Killers: hahaha losers, you were a full SFW and still lose haha gg ez

Survivors: haha loser, you lost againts a SoloQ team, uninstall pls gg ez

  • I just saw a better solution:

Pause the BT timer if the unhooked is being chased. Many killers waits for the BT to go to hit the survivor again, also, give them a little shiled if they hit just right when hey get unhooked.

And maybe make able to use OTR even if you got hit with basekit BT, because is BS that you can't use OTR because of that

  • I said it before and I'm gonna say it now: even if tunneling is a strategy, is not good because you're making another player not able to play the game and that's just a bad experience.

The problem with tunneling is that is not just a strategy, is a mindset. Many people says that they tunnel because they have to (even when they don't), BHVR can buff killers to make them able to fly and people will continue to tunnel just because they can. So yes, tunneling needs to stop, but genrushing too, because you can't punish one side and let the other alone

  • I don't know why people are comparing slugging with exit gates

Can you force people to live? Yes

Can you force a killer to hook you? No

  • Well, if hook suicide is punished, then tunneling should be too. Both things makes a player to be out of the match quickly, right?

  • I think exit gates needs better placement, a killer can just stand in the middle of the map and watch both gates

  • So people will complain until every exhaustion perk is nerfed to the ground?

  • The problem is that for some people tunneling is not a strategy, is a mindset.

You can buff killers all you want and people will keep tunneling because they just want to play like that and make survivors to suffer.

So yes, tunneling is a problem that needs to be addressed, but also you need to give killers something in compensation

I have never seen anything like this... Maybe its a bug or some cheats?

Or maybe I'm wrong, because I was running when the killer hit another person and I made a noise like when you do when you fail a skillcheck while healing and the killer came after me for that

  • And I've seen a lot of killers with sloppy that tunnel and slug, what's your point?

  • @Archael said:

Imo. Solidarity could remove haemorrhage from user if brał another survivor for full health state.

Resurgence could remove this effect when surv is hooked, not upon unhook because there are some killer perks (scourge Hook tbp) that apply haemorrhage previcely upon unhook its sole purpose of this perk and should not be neglected by secondary effect of another perk.

Reactive healing tho... No, i dont think this perk should have any additional interactions with haemorrhage, especially that most of the time user should be unseen and could take advantage of less medkit usage.

In my experience with reactive healing, if I'm not healing when the killer hits another person, heamorrhage notifies the killer like I stop healing of fail a skillcheck

  • Well, this problem has been there since the 6.1.0 update. Killers now tunnel and camp more because is a "strategy"

If a strategy makes another player not being able to play the game, is an issue. And the worst thing is killer mock because "hahaha no dh, now I can tunnel in peace". They don't want to win, they want to make the other team miserable, and the game allows that

  • The problem is that people asked for a solution to 3 gen situations that some killers could hold for a long time, instead of fixing that they nerfed the perks, that still can make the knight and skull merchant to hold the 3 gen hostage.

Because trust me, nobody asked for a pain ressonance nerf

  • Wow, people are really complaining about SB now lmao

You say Fearmonger helps to 99, but then what? People can recover if they’re on a gen, so they need to spend 40 seconds doing something else, what’s the problem with that?

From what I've heard the PTB changes are coming tomorrow, so we'll see what they actually changed from the PTB

Are they gonna post what is gonna be changed? Too fast?

  • I don't think spine chill and resilience need a nerf. Resilience is a rewarding perk for being injured, specially in this PTB

  • Maybe I would ok with the changes if they would buff the other boons

Dark theory is just bad, exponential is too situational and shadow steps is meh

With these changes, all boons are just gonna be dead, they need to rework them

  • Agree

If the killer tunnel everyone out, they still get 30k BP

If you get tunneled, you just receive like 5k

    How's that fair?

  • So you want to punish survivors for doing well and reward killers for doing bad

NOED just give free kills to people who don't deserve it

  • @HugTheHag said:

The devs' intention was never to buff survivors and leave killers hanging. However, it's hard to see the effect of one change (new UI) on the killrates if it's introduced in the same update as a killer buff.

They have already said that they are monitoring the numbers closely and will buff killers (or nerf survivors) accordingly in the next few updates if the UI skewed the intended killrate too much.

I think we can expect some buffs for killers (for the love of all that is unholy, please let those be killer-specific buffs instead of general buffs that don't solve specific killer's problems) in the midchapter, or maybe survivor nerfs. We did have that CoH nerf foreshadowing in the same notes that announced the Eruption nerf.

Balance is on the way ! =D

    What was that CoH foreshadowing?

  • Just deactivate his power when he's in a certain distance from the hook and activate it again 5 seconds after he's in a chase so people can save the hooked one and not abusive by looping near the hook

The killer is punished because you make them play vs SWF. What do they get for playing against a SWF team?

    1. You get more difficult/frustrating matches
    2. You get fewer points.

Where's the "yes I want that" aspect for the killer?

I will remind you that the devs told us that SWF groups escape up to 15% more often than solo players. That's a game breaking statistical difference.

Punishing for playing with SWF would be giving the team a 5% permanent slowdown for each linked player for heals/generators/totems/chests/doors/etc.

Limiting SWF is not punishment. it is called " fair play".SWF is not fun to play against. Fair play is the idea that using an ability is fun to use and fun to have it used on you. SWF therefore does not qualify as "fair play". Given the choice most people playing killer would only want to play against solo queue players.

The alternative would be to give the killer extra perks because you are playing in a SWF. Let me play with 8 perks if I am in a game that features SWF and I would choose to play 100% of my games against SWF teams.

    Play with 8 perks lmao

You know that SFW are not common as SoloQ, right? And again, if you want limit survivors like that, then let survivors chose which killer to play against

Keep the range as it is until you throw two pallets. Then give it a 60 second cooldown where you see no auras.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3370531#Comment_3370531

When tournament level players bring windows so they can attempt to punish when a killer tunnels - this reveals there is a problem with the perk in that it can be far more effective than DS.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3370516#Comment_3370516

There was an argument years ago on the developer discord. It went something like this:

"IF I am skilled enough to loop the killer forever then I should be allowed to loop the killer forever".

The resulting mechanic from this conversation gave us Bloodlust - and not what we see today in game. You could break a pallet and keep bloodlust with the old "super Bloodlust".

If you balance the game around allowing a survivor to loop for an extra minute then you would also need to have perks that regularly extend the length of multiple generators by 1 minute.

So you want to punish the tunneled instead of the tunneler? Wow

  • @DBDVulture said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/367560/swfs-need-a-nerf

A better rule would be : No perk/character/item/offering repeats.

It would be a very simple rule to prevent Bullying in DBD.

They will never put this rule into the game because "it would not feel fun" for survivors.

Who cares about fair play? The most important thing is to make sure the killer is the survivor's play thing.

Because is a bad idea, why would you punish people to play with their friends and limit what they use?

In that case, allow survivors to chose the killer to play against

  • There’s some things that can be done

1- The unhooked lose collision: they can’t bodyblock the killer

2- BT is paused when you’re in chase: Many killers know how to count to 10, so if you’re in a chase the BT is paused so you can be save until the killer hits you

3- OTR should stack with basekit BT: many killer wait until you get unhooked and hit you right there making you deactivate other perks, BT shouldn’t counter OTR because it just doesn’t make sense

  • Ok, but then buff soloQ, because if you think playing killer is awful, SoloQ is worse

  • That’s when you play just one side, I play both sides and I can say both are awful

You need a team if you want to play survivor because SoloQ randoms are just awful, is like playing against 4 killers

As a killer, I can say you will only lose if you face a SWF, they’re not even common so saying you lose every match as a killer is a lie lol

So many people claims that tunneling is the only way, I say no, tunnelers will tunnel even if they’re winning. Tunneling is actually a problem as genrush, I tried to invite some friends to play and they quit because they can’t even play thanks to the tunneler, so if you want the gen speed to be fixed, then prepare to tunneling mechanics to be fixed too

  • I guess that killers can get the new map treatment, if you play with a killer, the next match is gonna be with another killer and so

  • @NokseYaBaka said:

I wonder why killers feel pressured to tunnel- Maybe we should address that BEFORE piling more BS basekit buffs onto survivors? Like, seriously, at this point? The killer buff we got awhile back feels completely overshadowed by the REPEATED survivor additions we've been getting. I play both sides equally, and sadly, my view is that survivors as a whole teach killers how to play. Lose 3 gens in 1 chase? I have bad news. That killer will tunnel. Not just that game, but the next too. And then the next. Survivors chase around hook? That killer will camp. The same can be said for survivors. We learn how to loop, and counter certain things based on how the killers we face play. The only difference is killers aren't given hard counters for free like survivors have been recently. Encourage a healthier, more beneficial play style for killer via rewarding them instead. Not punishing. This game, despite lower MMR belief, is NOT killer-sided. They've brought Solo-queue up recently, which is what they balanced around. They gave survivors basekit BT, and didn't do anything to prevent it from being abused. They're planning on making a weaker version of unbreakable basekit, as awful as that system is. We need to start thinking about health for both sides, AS both sides. I know tunneling sucks, but bigger changes are needed. Like, OVERHAUL level changes. Game flow and otherwise.

Well, the thing is that basekit BT was made precisely because tunneling become a problem. So, the more the tunnel, the more basekit perks for survivors, making tunneling even stronger.

That's why old DS was great, it punish that playstyle without being to oppressive. So we need old DS back, two uses, 5 seconds stun and disable at endgame

  • The reason medkits doesn’t change is because SoloQ

Many people brings meds because they don’t want to depend of another teammate because you know why and many people want CoH to be nerfed, so you can’t leave survivors without options to heal.

And if everything to heal get nerfed you gonna see a lot of doctors and Wesker with coulropjobia and sloppy, also Legions

  • What I want is the person who has the box is not affected by the chains

  • Really? DS is just bad, it can be triggered just once per match and is actually 2 seconds to run, with a killer like nurse or blight you can't do nothing.

Iron Will is only useful if you don't have any exhaustion perk, sprint burts forces you to walk, boil over only work if the survivor takes you to a corner and you can just slug.

Self care is dead an CoH needs a totem to work.

So I don't know why people are complaining, is just one perk, you still can use call of brine, overcharge, jolt, pain resonance (still good perk)

"And all those other things either got nerfed because of game design changes (keys and insta heals) or because they stacked so well together it made it extremely hard to counter (flashlight spamming and Iron Will)."

Yes, same with slowdown perks, they stacked so well together and that's why they's nerfing them

  • Funny, they killed strong perks like spine chill, DS, iron will, self care, dead hard (still complaining) which caused tunneling even more than before, but looks like people only focus on one side

  • I just would like to bring unbreakable as a basekit when there's only two survivors, you killers can't slug one to look for the other one because is boring stay in the ground for a while just because killers want their 4K

  • @Warlord1981NL said:

I do play as survivor. I just go do something else... And getting 3 genned is your fault, not the killers nor the perks. Yours and yours alone.

Yeah, I should try harder to make the killer chase me and force my team to repair. Poor killer, he just want to extend the game for 4K :(

Also, what other thing you do when you are incapacitated?

  • @Warlord1981NL said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3341833#Comment_3341833

Nobody should be ok with bringing back game breaking perks, problem here is that at no point was Eruption ever game breaking... You lot exaggerate the power of killer perks so much even though they are all #########. None of them do anything. It doesnt matter if you bring them. The map choice has more of an influence on the outcome of a game than anything else. A choice survivors shouldnt have btw.

Do you play as a survivor? Eruption was unhealthy for the game, 8 of 10 games the killer had eruption and not being able to do anything for 25 seconds were absurd. And most killer use it to camp the 3gen, and don’t say “just 3gen yourself” when the killer refuse to leave the zone and force us to repair and get hook if we want to finish the game

  • So are you ok to bring back old DS and Iron Will? Because those perks were nerfed to death too

  • It should be like before, working two times but deactivated in the endgame and 5 seconds of stung, but also deactivate if you receive a protection hit, so you can't body block anymore

  • This is just a bad idea, killers can just tunnel (more than they do) knowing that in some point survivor can’t heal, will camp the 3 gen because there’s gonna be easy hits. Perks that requieres protection hits are gonna be useless and camping is gonna be even worse because you gonna be downed trying to unhook.

Ok, let’s say it happens, you have to compensate survivors in exchange, remove thanatophobia and gift of pain, when broken old iron will and no mither needs to be basekit, you can’t get hit when unhooking and it can work as old BT and maybe we can be good.

  • I don't think unbreakable for basekit is a good idea, it can be too abusable.

What I would like is giving unbreakable when there's only two survivors, so you can avoid being slugged because the other person is just hidding waiting to you to die and avoid killers who slug just because they want the 4k. That or a buttom to give up

  • Bro, I just asked you the time
