Scott Jund made an excellent discussion video on this very topic:
Was going to say the same thing. I liked the conclusion that Killers have the potential to be more game changing in their toxicity, but because there are more survivors, you'll see it more with survivors. He said something along the lines of "If 25% of killers and survivors are toxic, you'll see 1 toxic killer every 4 matches, vs 1 toxic survivor every match"

New Survivor Perk: Outta My Way (work in progress)
You have no time for people who stop to smell the roses. Whenever another survivor is standing still or in a slow vault animation, you shove them out of your way for the vault. Also, if they are blocking an entrance, exit gate, or hatch, you can move them a few feet back into the nearest valid space. You are exhausted for (blah blah) seconds.
Lol. I'd run this in Solo Q.

I want to be able to vault sandbagging teammates - leapfrog style. Or if they are slow-vaulting a window, or slow-crawling over a pallet during chase and I would have been in fast vault animation, I want to just chuck them out of the way as I fast vault ^_^
(I'm mostly kidding btw)

The problem isn't the mode of play but the mindset of the players playing the game. One reason I loved SBMM is that going against players at my "skill level" meant that I wasn't going against "red rank" players with thousands of hours who have become jaded. Until this game moves away from "4k wins/escapes" as measures of success, you're going to have people do whatever they can to assure their success and ergo their "fun". Casual mode probably won't fix that.

I'm really missing it. The great/fun matches I had as killer/survivor significantly outweighed the few bad matches I had. I won some, I lost some - but I had fun. My first four survivor matches I had after the test were sweaty rank 1 nurses who slugged and nodded at us while we were on the hook.
I can't wait for SBMM to become permanent.

I'm having a great time with it so far in the Japan servers (just like last time). Killers have been a whole lot less sweaty - and to be honest, the skill level has been near enough to mine that I generally don't feel overwhelmed. I can't wait to test it out on the killer side as well.

Actual quote I got from my last game. I was going against a SWFs in coms so I secured a early 3 gen and slowly bled out there resources in my 3 gen area using the same hook in between the gens while patrolling it and prioritizing the unhooked survivors till I ended with a 3k.
securing that early 3 gen was the only reason I got any kills if one of those gens had fallen it would have been a 4 escape. so end game chat comes and it’s all “you tunneled you camped” which I did.
but the real kicker for me is “that wasn’t fun for the survivors”
And?
l’m confused, do you think that you constantly calling out my position over coms is fun for the killer? Do you think 4 DSes is fun? Flashlight stalkers swarming every pickup? Constantly trying to distract me with your best looper who immediately runs to the portion of the map with the most pallets is fun? Borrowed time, unbreakable, dead hard, deliverance and the key you brought is fun?
I’m not even saying you shouldn’t do that stuff but why do you expect me to care about your fun? You don’t care about mine.
What would you consider a "fun" game?

I honestly don't have a horse in this race (skill check or no skill check), but I'm going to toss this out there:
I'm surprised no one has suggested having DS be a button press (activate secondary ability) during the 3 second pick-up animation. If you don't press the button, you keep the DS. If you do press it, you hit it and it deactivates. It keeps the "I want the option to keep it" crowd and the "I don't want a skill check" crowd happy.

These days I'll only tunnel if a survivor teabags at a pallet or does the clicky click with the flashlight - because that tells me they want my attention and/or believe they are significantly better than I am. They've thrown down the gauntlet, and I assume they are prepared to face the consequences. Otherwise, I'll try to chase as many people as I can. If I down the same person that just came off the hook, I'll slug them so their friends can pick them up, and I'll go chase someone else. I'll even dropped chases when I realize it's the person fresh off the hook.
I'm not playing this game to get off on 4ks or "wins" so tunneling doesn't appeal to me as a "strategy to win". I just want to have some fun chasing, hooking, and killing survivors when I play killer - or being chased, dodging, and escaping as a survivor. I don't feel like there is a challenge in downing a survivor fresh off the hook - even with BT or DS.
EDIT: Sorry, OP, to answer your original question. Tunneling, IMO, is when you ignore everyone else to go specifically after one survivor because you're trying to get them out of the game as fast as possible. If they are unhooked in front of you, that means the person who did the unhooking is also vulnerable. So unless you were aiming for the other person and accidentally hit them, it could be considered tunneling. However, if you dont rehook them again right away, I don't think it qualifies as tunneling.

Only reason I would stick around as a survivor is because I am not sure if the other survivors have made it safely to an exit gate. Once I've confirmed that, I don't stick around. I don't get this survivor need to teabag at the exit gate or the killers who slash you several times on the hook. Why can't we play as a community instead of a group of immature a-holes? There are other human beings on the other side of that screen.

Is this only happening to players on PC? And can you grab me your Cloud ID's and or logs, so that we can look into this further please?
This happened to me on PS4 as well.

It's not just RPD. I had the same thing happen to me at Coal Tower.

This was one of the best threads I have ever read on this forum. Thank you DBD community. I needed a good laugh.
10/10. Would read again.

First and foremost, thank you for your responses.
RE: Dino7281
"How will you know he is really toxic?"
Personally, I define toxic as gameplay that goes against the spirit of the game, with the intention to make other people not enjoy the game for your own amusement. It's when a killer doesn't care about bloodpoints, doesn't care about "winning", doesn't care about preventing gens, or any other killer objective. If your gameplay shrinks the player base, and makes the game not fun for others it is toxic. This doesn't include being really skilled or playing a really good Nurse/Spirit/Hag.
An online game cannot survive (no pun intended) without players. Both killers and survivors. We play this game for fun, but if your idea of fun is purely selfish and at the expense of others playing the game, then I think the behavior is toxic. A killer who hooks one survivor, and then spams M2s on them is not forwarding their killer objectives. A killer who slugs all four players and watches them all bleed out is not forwarding killer objectives (I could be wrong, but I remember hearing you don't get bloodpoints if a player bleeds out). Pick them up (wait out DS) and end the match. These killers are simply trolling/griefing - and the survivor has to wait out the timer or face dc penalties.
RE: Kyxlect
"So the chances of you running into the same Killer should be fairly low unless there's just not a lot of Killers queuing up."
I have had this happen. I play on Asian servers. I've run into a few repeat lobbies (with survivors and killers).
"Some people list their Killer main in their Steam Profile description and of course there's streamers which you do acknowledge but I don't know, it seems like you're trying to brush it off or something."
I am honestly not trying to brush it off. I just know that I have the same ability when I play killer to "research" the lobby I am playing against. I don't do that because, well, honestly I don't care to. It feels cheap. I've gone against survivors whose tags are [email protected] . I don't pull up their twitch stream because I feel like it's against the spirit of the game to stream snipe someone. Not to mention it does nothing to improve me as a killer.
"So, do I think Behavior's going to implement a controversial change like this into the game thereby harming streamers who are actively promoting the game for free? Not a chance."
Again, Killers already have access to the names/IDs of the survivors they are going against. If this harms streamers, then doesn't it harm survivor streamers as well?
RE: Emeal
"This is such a bad idea. This means you cant have an open profile anymore, because survivors will see one post saying "-rep camper" and leave the group."
Has this been an issue for the (equally toxic) Survivor bully squads?
"They need to learn to play vs Campers instead of running from them."
I think I understand your point here. You don't get better as a player if you avoid difficult situations. To be clear, that's not my goal. At the end of the day, this is a game. Sure there are bugs and glitches, but at its core, the devs have created a fun experience. This is why we have all paid our money. But players also want some agency in their game play. The conversation as to why camping/tunneling happens is a bit more complex than I want to get into (map sizes, gen speeds, wanting to "win" etc), but at the end of the day you have quite a few people who are saying that it is not an enjoyable part of the game. If the response to this honest feedback is "suck it up", then I think you're going to see the player base slowly whither away - because people will say "No. This is not fun." If we, as a community, are OK with this then I suppose the status quo is fine.

Thank you for all of your responses!
I'll just file this behavior under trolling/being annoying and move on.
