i used to think most people were probably at high mmr
but now i actually think it's an actual pretty small % of the player base
i might not even be in it or at least not a the highest possible
Based on watching some content creators i actually think only a few are in the top MMR bracket as well
My reason for this is that you never really see people like scott jund who claims to be high mmr i rarley ever watch his killer gameplay and think "wow those survivors are strong / know what there doing" they usually seem very weak in comparison to what other creators play agasint
if we look at EU for a second
Otz never seems to play against other popular streamers / comp players that often if at all for example since MMR came out i think he and tru3 faced off like 2-3 times only
And you call me a tru3 glazer but he legit seems to go against former and current comp players near enough every game since he checks profiles alot
Not to mention Hens333 and tru3 seem to get matched up with each other quite often in comparison to other streamers, Same with knightlight he used to alot at least
Now take into consideration how bad the average player is compared and how much better / above average these streamers are it can start to paint a pretty clear picture on what mmr actually is
Quick side note that MMR will always try to match you up with players at your level
BUT it will not force it if match making time would be affected by a good margin
I like to call this "The Buffer"
Anyway I truly think that around 85-95% of people are in low-mid MMR and High MMR is a more exclusive club then people would like to admit
-
nothing wrong with a killer being a good slugger
-
because a downed suvivor should never wiggle out unless the killer choses to go for a specific hook or there team forces the drop
the reason the wiggle is there is so killer cant pick and chose the most optimal hook spots
not so survivors have a chance at wiggling out on there own
-
Perk is not so good for most of the survivor player base as they'll be either too dumb to use it properly or their teamates wont be able to take advantage of it
It's a bad solo q perk most of the time
But in a swf it's arguably the best perk in the game esp a top SWF
-
i'll admit i win / draw more games then i lose as killer
but it's the losses that stick out the most because most times their seems to be genuinely nothing you can do more to win because of how coordinated they are on gens
you honestly dont need to be an amazing looper swf to win you just need coms and pre running/knowing when to stick on gens
i've played many games vs swfs that ended up at 5 gens done / gates open with like 20 second chases there simply isn't enough timee as killer to play for chases

“survivors have a lot of base kit hand hold stuff now”
Huh?
besides the obvious stuff like insta gens and actually insts heals infinites etc…
survivor is the easiest it's ever been
i say hand hold because thats what a lot of the updates are
you could counter all of the things like campingg and tunneling and 3 gens etc before the changes
but survivors for the most part couldn't because of a skill issue
so now the game holds thier hand and forces the counterplay without the survivors doing anything
-
Besides the obvious killers that need major buffs like pig legion etc…
I'd really really like and equalization of gen speeds across the board
So basically the removal of gen speed perks and items
Gen regression is already pitiful in modern DBD and survivors have a lot of base kit hand hold stuff now
So as a killer main i'd just like gen speeds to be consistent and not anywhere from like 20-90 seconds and everywhere in between

we need a lot of survivor buffs. game is killer sided af!
- no aura reading perks for killers (make hiding fun again)
- gens back to 80 secs
- show gens to survivors and hide gens to killers at all time
- no mory for the last surv
- add unbreakable to surv base kit
and maybe introduce a balancing similar to 2vs8 mode (speedup gen progression speed if survs are losing or someone killed itself on hook).
its hard to tell whats satire anymore
as i've seen serious people say all of those things

Not anymore once they decide to spilt it into two variants and blocked off library third floor. As as re veteran its a real insult to me and tbh I wouldn't even blame capcom to take away their license and remove the map.
Alot of the hate imo is people who havent even played a re game in their life. I did well as both survivor and killer on og rpd. Heck unlike tradhwich killer sided school, rod og was fine on both sides imo. Now its more killer sided like 90,% of maps become.
yea i haven't played any resident evil games
Only one i watched on yt was the first ethan game with mia
I would be glad if capcom took away the liscence like netflix did with st
i'd never have to play rpd again (:

id say 115 movement speed
basekit tin oil can
faster reeling speed
houndmaster is similar to slinger and she got a giga buff, would be nice for slinger aswell.
A cool change would be 115 when he needs to reload
and his old 24m terror radius back when he's loaded
insta scopes could come back but survivors would cry

If you're referring to the DBDLeague AHL tournament, that one had a special rule where the team who picks a killer also picks the map, so they were picking maps the other team wouldn't have practice on (and iirc, dracula was played on rotten, Mastermind was on Rancid). Not necessarily correlated to how balanced the map is.
Also, would you say the map in question detailed above contains outplay potential in all areas? Specifically the top left area? I find the new jungle gyms and the weaker filler by shack lacking in much meaningful outplay potential against good players without simply holding W, same with the harvester and main building aside from the pallet.
I didn't know that about the maps, I assumed it was just handpicked like it is in regular matches

I'd like to present my (crude) drawing of Rancid Abbatoir RNG that a twitch streamer got a few days ago. 8 pallets, 1 breakable wall, 9 windows.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/WFY0DCDU2DUI/rancid.png
Obstacles unrelated to loops were removed, and what you see here is every (yes, every) resource on the map. I even looked at spots where pallets could spawn to see if any had been dropped but broken, and this is all the map spawned. 4 terrible "jungle gym"s (3 of the somewhat stronger variety, and 1 of the laughably weak variety) and 2 filler pallets. What a laughably weak map.
With better RNG there could have been better jungle gyms here, but this is still pathetic. Genuinely, what resources do survivors have to work with here? Keep in mind that there are no Z wall spawns on rancid or edge map pallets like there were in 2v8. Once the laughable supply of pallets are gone, only shack window, harvester, meat tree, and the 4 L walls can realistically be played. Nothing here is chainable, in fact there are barely any resources for miles. I loaded this map several times against bots in customs to reference while making this image, and although I usually got at least one standard tile instead of these awful gyms, there were always nearly as many deadzones in my variations.
Do you think this map is too lacking in resources? If no, why not, and if so, what do you think should be done to fix it?
Twitch VOD for reference: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2332513216?t=1h14m47s
Ngl i think coldwind is quite balanced now
Rotten fields i think it's called with the killer shack in the middle is probably killer sided
But the other ones are actually balanced in my eyes and survivors dont have the option of just dropping pallets willy nilly because theres always like 3 around you at all times
You actually have to outskill the killer at most tiles because as i said before your resources are limited and you best make use of them wisely
Also, rancid Ab was played in comp recently on pinhead and Dracula so it can't be that killer sided compared to something like coal tower and the other maps they use
-
could of been scene partner
it's an annoying perk an like free wall hacks on the killer kind of like old object i guess?
might be a bad example but the people who run it are usually the "Chase me Chase me!" people so just grin and bear it i guess as chasing them is giving them what they want
-
pretty bad idea tbh

He has a particular demographic of the DBD community following him that agree with every word & complaint he has about the game regardless if it's justified or not. A lot of times he makes small mistakes and blames the game design and fails to acknowledge his own mistakes & learn from them. He's not a bad player & has valid points, but his ego gets in the way and it's quite annoying at times listening to him. I feel a lot of his followers have the same problem and don't want to acknowledge their own mistakes so they look to streamers like Tru3 to validate their own shortcomings.
what are you even on about my guy
-
only way of them doing it would be to either
A) Give survivors a faster bleed out after 30 seconds if they want
B) Allow survivors to hook themselves on the ground after 30 seconds if they want
Otherwise most other changes would straight up be a buff to survivor and the game doesn't really need them right now
esp with gen defence being so pitiful

I watched that game and I question every time someone says tru3 only lost because he got sniped by a comp full SWF. Watch the pig game he plays in that same vod afterward which had spitzzx in it (anon nancy). He accuses them of being another sniping SWF when spittzx was solo and the chat was accusing the survivors of cheating as tru3 tried a stand still mindgame multiple times that wasn't working and kept losing 50s.
As for "is it possible if you're being sniped", yes but no. If you're playing a high tier killer with full meta you can, if you're playing solo or need 3man out in a SWF good luck lol. The one thing I do believe that tru3 says is that he gets sniped a lot, I've seen knightlight's streaks and he is constantly being sniped by survivors who try to help him in copycat streak.
Was that the game where the anon said "Omg tru3 sign my profile"
I dont know who that guy is but i dont blame tru3 for calling that guy a sniper as thats a pretty toxic thing to do and something that a toxic sniper would 100% say to tru3 IMO
-
@Saiph said:
So survivors are OP because killers can't get on infinite streaks?
Momo got to 1947 wins a row - yes you read that right - he literally won for 2 years straight, even with comp SWFs sniping him.
What number would you like ideally, to consider the game balanced? 1 000 000 ?
nobody here but you mentioned survivors being op buddy

Haven´t seen it yet.
I watch a lot of different streamers only on YT. And he always has videos up which is nice. Have no problem with him.
Otz is indeed very persistent with his challenges. But streamers have the time for these things.
I hope they do hardcore surv again. I also really liked when these started with Dowsey.
I guess the bigger you are the more people will try to "ruin" your stuff in some way.
tru3 does usually give a reaction to the snipers and doesn't do anything to make it harder for them to snipe him anymore
he's probably the most sniped streamer on dbd

Not a fan of Tru3. In my opinion while he's obviously a good player, he really doesn't understand the game or different killers very well based on some opinions I've heard him give.
Much rather watch Hens or Otz or really any other content creator who actually knows what they are talking about.
I think he killed otz and hens every time they were in his lobby as survivors so take that as you will
But i'll say this
When he doesn't understand how to play a killer or use a perk he'll just say it's awful or it's bad
But i do think most of his takes are fine and worthy of consideration
-
thought this was gonna be about lolth lol
-
nah probably not
but it does add a new class of perk so idk
i would prefer scourge hook pain res to be "Each time you hook a survivor, the gen closest to completion loses 15% total progress
" This perk doesn't activate if you hook the same survivor twice in a row"

Anytime a new killer comes out and is strong. Content creators love to rush to "wow this killer is a new top 5 killer" then a couple weeks happen and suddenly that killer is no where to be seen.
It happens so consistently that I just can't take any content creator's opinions on the game seriously.
its kinda wild but scott jund is actually a houndmaster defender and has the logical takes on killer balance for once
he's the only content creator i've seen who is in my biased opinion is correct

I actually had to look cuz that seemed so ridiculous to me and yeah idk if he's baiting or what cuz that's such an insane thing to say.
Nurse, Blight, Billy, Spirit, Artist, Oni, Plague, Singularity, Twins, I could go on but you get the point. There's no way Houndmaster is anywhere near the level of any of these killers. No idea what Hens is smoking
He seems to really overestimate killer's strengths and heavily underestimate the average survivor for some reason
he assumes that survivors that dont play comp are dumb as rocks and need hand holding
-
Hens has said shes OP and top 5 /:
Expect nerfs acordingly sadly
Side note Hens might of been the worst consultant choice out of the many good DBD players I feellike he doesn't believe half the things he types/talks about but he does it becasue he thinks it popular

@buggybug said:
I have yet to see anyone survivor wise on forums asking for her to be nerfed. Only thing I see was posts asking tune her up and fix some bugs and that is just it. Unless am missing something.
i dont really check the fourms myself but i've seen quite a few on Reddit and twitter like pixel bush and other random people talking about how shes super OP now
I'll agree on skimming through general discussion i've only seen like 2 posts complaining about her but i want my point to stand that she's not in needof massive nerfs and when watching clips of a killer people should be able to understand that other killers who you would call weak or average can do the exact same thing
I would of posted this to Reddit but i was permabanned because of my name after like 3 years of the account being up and a suspension too boot Not sure why my name wasn't a problem for all that time…

Once in High MMR you cant leave it unless you lose a lot in a row and if you win even 1 it resets it
And if you somehow manage to lose all those games in a row you actually gain more MMR from wins because the game wants to put you back into High MMR
Dont get fooled with High MMR BTW
MMR in dbd to my understanding works like this
LOW MMR - Bronze and Maybe silver players
MEDIUM MMR- Silver and Gold players
High MMR- All the way from Plat to the actual best players in the world
Of course the game will try and put you to players around your current MMR when in High but it's not picky at all and this is why people like scott and other content creators along with Redditors believe MMR doesn't exist
It works well at stopping Tru3 from matching up with new players but not good enough to stop him from getting matched with average joes

I can see you primarily playing killer lmao, I personally enjoy attempting bc it’s fun especially if I’m about to get saved I want an attempt. But a game turning around bc of a single 4% deal great. It’s not even a good chance you’ll get off the hook. 96% chance you’ll only further your progress. Yes players if they don’t want to be in that game will try and get out, maybe have had something come up unexpectedly, or teammates or killer is being a troll to them and they don’t to deal with it. Sure they could give you a bot but at the cost of a timer which isn’t favorable imo.
what’s next? Can’t give up on second hook?
Also, if you really had to go somewhere just AFK but if you make it a habit of having to go somewhere every match then you deserve to be reported for that and potentially banned

Found the survivor main who offs himself on hook when something doesn't go his way or it's a killer he doesn't like
