Just because the team isn't trying to "win" doesn't make it innocent and/or good natured. Let's be real here, what many/most of them likely want to do is make the killer look inept/foolish. For the killer, that is often a whole lot less palatable than straight up losing. People generally don't much care for being made into an object of amusement for someone else.
I say if a squad wants to just "mess around" like that, let them do it in a KYF setup. Simple. In random matchmaking, always assume the other side wants an actual game.
Again, we have a scenario where so long as the survs are having fun, all is good to them, even if it's a crap sandwich for the killer. I don't get hurt by it, but it's annoying af, and for many people it feels like straight up disrespect. At the very least, it's a near total waste of the killer's time.
Comon dude it's pretty funny because it normally results in your death, I never understood how you can play this game so seriously

I'll let you in on a little secret... Head-on squads usually are just in it for the laughs, no one will be doing gens and they all know they won't escape. The only way to ''win'' over them is to go afk or pretend to wanna farm.
This guy gets it

Head on needs a complete rework tbh
I just wish it was more clear the length of time it takes for a flashy save between the different flashlights and add-ons you can bring.
-
I think if this sort of Head on fun makes you think you are being bullied then this or any online game is not for you. Grow thicker skin. As a killer main, they are handing you free wins. Why are you getting so triggered by somebody stunning you in a video game? Even though I usually play killer I love practicing stuns and risky flashlight plays with friends as survivor because normal gameplay is boring after 2000 hours. We go in with the intention of dying and just having fun, never BM the killer, that's different. What, you would prefer gen focused death squads with toolboxes? Because let me tell you that is more frustrating to deal with.

I don't mind having to try hard to win. But the path to victory as killer has become filled so many unfun things that it's hard to get motivated to want to play killer at all.
Agree, victory but at what cost.

It's subtle things they do they'll be slightly faster, able to somehow dodge things that would normally hit ,and the obvious lag switch.
Also if you're running haunted grounds and ruin ,and somehow the blow the ruin first is a obvious hack
It's funny you should say that, I actually completely remove ruin/devour from my builds because they go in the first minute. At first I thought I was just unlucky but now I'm not so sure.
Easier for me to simply remove it for something consistent, like play with your food and Nemesis

In high MMR they mainly cheat ,it's not you.
I didn't even think about the possibility that People cheat, is it so commonplace? How could you know if a survivor is cheating?

I started to post a reply but the moderators seemingly deem anything too offensive for the forum. I give up, time to let this game die.
Can't say anything anymore, people are too thin skinned

I actually get more angry at BT body blocks than all the dunking and clicking. My challenge could be "get 4 unique hooks" and I will tunnel that Borrowed Time jester into the shadow realm. How DARE they? Get in my way with your immortality and expect me to play nice after that? No, no, no, no. It doesn't work that way. I will smash them on hook in hopes a teammate dares to give them orrowed time again so that I can purposely disrespect it.
Ahem, I digress. It doesn't make me feel hollow to play dirty. It kind of turns me on.
I do notice from my survivor gameplay that, due to CoH making taking a health state kinda trivial, body blocking is much more prevalent. I know because I engage in it too, albeit to get stacks of WGLF!
-
Meat plant is my favourite map for survivor and for killer, and I'm a killer main.
Lots of los blockers to mind game on the bottom floor and even some dead ends! Personally I think it's a death trap for survivors but I guess everyone is different.
Plus I just love being able to move around the map quickly through all the trapdoors and holes and jump on survivors :)
-
Wait, that map has a basement in the main building? Where on earth is the entrance located?
-
Is that seriously it? I wanted to bludgeon somebody with an oversized treat

If they can keep tricking people with a Candy Cane weapon, frosty eyes, charms and Sweaters. They deserve their fans.
I'm just throwing it out there, I didn't know there was a candy cane weapon. I retract my earlier statement

I'm sure you'll forgive me for not believing that right off the bat. I've been playing through this whole event, and I think a survivor got any value at all out of a snowman all of once- and even then, they got downed about five seconds afterwards since the snowmen are actually pretty garbage as tactical objects.
Most skilled survivors ignore the snowman. Those are the ones you should be worried about lol

It's another stupid dev idea, and its execution is amatuer. Yes sir you are correct. I feel sorry for the Behavior they try so hard and keep failing.
Considering the almost limitless possibilities they could have gone with it's a pretty weak gimic. I feel like they focus so much time on cosmetics these days they could actually use that time improving their game. But I suppose that's not as much as a cash cow. But then again in the long run a good game keeps people playing longer
-
I like the concept of boons, I just think they need tweaking. I've noticed that as an experienced killer I just end up sweating so much to keep up. If they wear destroyed when snuffed I'd be happy as a clam. But with 4 naughty elves to chase with busy hands they are back up in seconds. Now with the absence of any meaningful ranking system to care about sometimes it feels like if the game goes South you may as well tunnel somebody and camp their second stage into death. One reason to obviously get somebody out of the game quickly to relieve pressure for the killer. Second is because it usually draws out the alturistic nature of the survivors and you can change their behaviour from gen rushing to quickly snowball them (I use stbfl). I never used to do this and still dislike it as a tactical move but survivors will use literally everything at their disposal to win, so must you as a killer If you don't want to get stomped.
-
Two solutions I've found is death slinger shooting them just negates it. Second, clowns pinky finger add on still insta-downs them through snow man. Very funny the salt you get. But tbh most survivors just want the event prizes and are chill. If snowman costumes are causing you to lose games then I got bad news for you man. This is from a nearly 2000 hour killer main so maybe I'm based.

I remember those great times when people actually played Billy
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/CXP7MOQ5EVQM/85dbcb94032623f99f87fd8d385523a5.jpg
I still play him on mobile and PC. I love him!
Survivors usually love playing against him too
-
I'm a rank one Billy on mobile. Everything is possible if you dream hard enough lol
-
Can confirm pallets STILL bugged. Getting hit through and no stun or randomly throwing down wrong way
-
I dread when other survivors bring keys because it's usually a sign to the killer to go no holds barred lol
-
From my experience as soon as the survivors know it's iri head they either DC or kill self on hook. Kinda wasting the huntress time and the survivors time. As a decent huntress I wouldn't bring it anyway, it's looked down upon by good huntresses.

Kind of reminds me of how killers saw nothing but instaheals every game because BHVR game survivors a 1 month warning before nerfing them. Same with BNPs and toolboxes overall. As is it now with keys.
I don't think you get to complain about the one time killers get to have some fun.
No I actually agree with you, I'm rank one killer and survivor. I just wish with things like this they would just nerf it without warning to stop this happening.
-
@Kebek said:
People don't run it due to salt, it go nerfed and all the people who used it to cheese objectives got salty and refuse to run it because "It's bad now". Since they suck at chases, they get tunneled easily and then go complain about how DBD is ruined with tunneling.
Eventually they'll come around and use it again or git gud at looping the hard way, possibly even quite if they're unable.
The other things like no obsession claws each match is part of QoL updates that solo survivors desperately need so that's a seperate issue among many others.
I forgot to mention, I only q as a solo survivor, so your right in that. Unfortunately it means if a killer is having a bad day and it's your turn to get tunneled, your team mates are less likely to jump in and take the aggro or make risky altruism plays
-
@Phasmamain said:
Less people are gonna use DS now so do yourself a favour and run at least one obsession based perk whether it be DS or even for the people
Otherwise you’ll regret it
That's probably a good idea, even if the motive behind it kinda signals what a poor state the game is in right now.
-
Imma gonna put my two cents in here. As someone who sweated to get rank one on killer as nurse and then on survivor I can say games don't have to be like this. Sure you can tunnel somebody out the game and it's the most effective way usually to destabilise the survivor teams efforts. But it ruins the game for that one person who queued for 20 mins. It also shortens the game overall which means less opportunity for points and fun interesting chases. After I reached the top as killer I just wanted to play as fair as possible because whether they escaped or not didn't matter anymore. Same with survivor, if I notice the killer is going out of their way to play in a decent way so everybody has a good time (not camping or switching targets After an unhook) I will compliment them after the match even if I die. Because I've felt like everyone had the maximum fun they could have had. Never be toxic if you can help it.
Be humble in Victory.
Gracious in defeat.
-
Red rank Killer/Survivor here. When I originally tried to get rank one as killer I used hag because she can chew through careless teams who can't bear to leave anyone on a hook for 5 seconds. But genuinely people will just suicide most of the time if you get them in the basement or DC because outside of very good players in swf, it's game over. This got not only boring but I couldn't get the emblems from chase high enough for her to pip up consistently at below rank 5 (plus people killing themselves robbed me of the hooks). So I just learned nurse, got gud. Got rank one for the achievement on Steam and only play jingle Dwight now. (Less stressful).

ba dum ts
To be fair, I wasn't even mad. This is what DBD should be like with these crazy moments.
Not saltfest teabagging.
I had two killers DC on me today because I looped them for 2 mins and I genuinely felt bad because they obviously weren't having a fun time.
Without killers we have no game and the same goes for survivor.
