this map is an absolute abomination and i don't know how you can still create those maps after fixing all the others that were similary broken? So many save pallets, a stupid main building with abuseable god windows, it's way too big...

If you're still having trouble as killer after all the buffs then it's a skill issue and you should probably reflect on the mistakes you made rather than blaming the game

  • you don't see anyone complain about killer right now, and the very few that do are roasted into oblivion.

so yea, per your logic the game is killer sided.

Altruism kills. If rescuing 1 survivor risks the escape of the 3 others, then its best to cut the losses and leave.

That's the difference between survivor mains and killer mains.

Killer Mains are sweaty and often play optimal using everything they have available to them to secure a 4k. They often take the game WAY more seriously than survivors.

Survivor mains just want good chases and like insane moments where they pull off an incredible play. It's more rewarding than just powering through gens and escaping. The most memorable matches for them are not just escaping quickly, it's the match where they went toe to toe with a basement camper in the EGC and somehow managed to save thier friend and escape, or when they ran the killer for 5 gens and died, but thier teammates got out.

If you don't believe me watch a few streamers. There are 2 killer mains and 2 survivor mains swfing right now and it's freaking hilarious how differently they approach the game. The killer mains are freaking screaming over the mic and talking about hook geometry while the 2 survivor mains are only worried about somehow getting a killer to drop into a hole...

    1. you are playing against complete beginners, since you are a beginner as a killer yourself
    2. in higher ranks, your facecamping killer play would be completely obliterated, since people would pop gens and escape while you are hugging your one and only hook. Of course killers with experience know all this and they will not waste time with a single survivor and will keep up the pressure on all of them. But you are a beginner trying to troll other beginners. Not an actual "experiment"

It's not. I've been facecamping with Bubba and 4 gen regression perks, and I'm going against 2k+ hour survivors.

    I 4k 99% of the time, they really don't have a chance.

I always find and start with the weakest link. It's super easy to see who can loop really well and who can't. But regardless Bubba eats through pallets and I always hit through a pallet, I never respect them.

Even if the survivor chains tiles and or loops well, the maximum they typically stay up for is 4-5 tiles, and with Bubba chainsaw eating pallets so quickly those tiles go by really quick.

After that it's pretty simple, that first survivor will die on first hook, or someone will come to save and I'll get both of them down. Bubba's chainsaw and run down survivors regardless of the BT duration.

After that gens come to a hault. They'll maybe get 1-3 gens done max. At that point I just start slugging for the 4k. Even if it's 3 players still up, slugging them out over and over is usually so oppressive they can't get ######### done.

Once I get 2 of em down I just hook em and proxy camp em. Bubba can get to either hook and down both survivors during the rescue pretty easily.

It's been absolutely mindless for me after this patch. I've played like this before the patch and I would usually 1k or 2k most of the time. After this patch I've 4k'd every game since it was released. Not sure how many games, but it's gotta be well over 30 or 40 now.

  • It's pretty obvious why.

Tons of survivors have stopped playing the game completely due to the heavy buffs to killer and nerfs to survivors.

Some of those survivors who quit no longer value thier account. So they don't care about being banned anymore.

Now that they don't have anything to lose they download a hack menu to play around with that until they are eventually banned. It's pretty much them "going out with a bang" and giving the killers who ruined thier game one last middle finger.

It's stupid and childish, plus if things do revert to make survivor playsble again, now they don't have an account to go back to. I didn't really see an uptick of cheaters until the two posts by BHVR indicating that there won't be any changes to balance things out until a year from now at least.

I guess they decided they didn't want to wait that long.

  • Killers who need to run thana are simply just not skilled at the game.

Sorry that facts hurt. It's a crutch for bad killers.

  • @MrPeanutbutter said:

BHVR literally said that this patch was intended to increase kill rates, i.e. buff killers. Nobody should be surprised that playing survivor has become a little more difficult. Killers have been getting the short end of the stick for a long time, and survivor mains have gotten spoiled with easy games and broken second chance perks.

Plenty of solo q survivor players have said that they are happy with this patch and this game feels more balanced now, including myself (I play about 50/50 killer/solo survivor). Camping and tunneling have always been an issue and they will likely always be an issue - if you don’t like it, play something else or heaven forbid maybe try playing killer yourself. For all those complaining, it’s time to start considering that maybe you and your expectations of the game are the problem, not this patch.

Also, you can bet that BHVR will make adjustments if the kill rates get too high. It’s been like two weeks and everyone is expecting immediate adjustments already.

I'm curious, at point do you think is "enough time".

Never played a pvp game where people acted like this where somehow it takes this long to adapt...this game is not that complicated and I'm not understanding how it takes longer than a week to determine that things are unbalanced.

I just feel like that whole argument is just ignorant the real problems in the game. Let's just ignore these things and hopefully they'll go away on thier own. In 4 weeks it will be a month, in a month it will be 6 months and in 6 months it will be a year.

People are allowed to have opinions on the game when they play it, there is no time limit to where nobody can complain. Boil over was completely nerfed extremely quickly...why didn't we wait for "killers to adapt to the change" with that one?...

  • @Jago said:

Good riddance if it cleans up toxic bad players.

Lmao you think the people leaving are the toxic players?

It's quite the opposite I suspect. The most toxic people in this game were the bully squad swfs who only played to punish instead of just win.

Those players are not affected this patch, the casuals and newbies are the ones leaving.

  • This comment by jimmypopjr is the best description of most people's recent experience with the patch.

"I can only speak for myself, a soloq player with 2000+ hours.

This update hit me pretty hard.

I love this game, but not unconditionally. I don't expect or need to win/escape very much, I just want to have fun and not be so frustrated that dc'ing feels like a valid option. I don't want to be tunneled or see others get tunneled.

But since the update, the game hasn't been very fun for me. More than 50% of my matches end with me thinking I need to take a break. When the matches are frustrating, the matchmaking feels unbalanced, and the BP and XP rewards are paltry (especially when tunneled out in the first few minutes)... well then DCs and long queues seem like a natural result.

It sucks that a game this fun can have such lows to go along with the highs. That it can feel like some people use the game as a conduit to make others feel as badly as possible.

And to make things worse, this sub/community, which generally I find to be great, is just packed full of people trying to invalidate people's opinions/experiences with their own anecdotal opinions/experiences.

So now I'm stuck with a game I love that's no longer fun and rewarding enough to be worth my time, and a community that genuinely doesn't care that I'm disappointed by how the patch impacted me (but will care enough to tell me why I'm wrong, or how I was carried by the old meta that I didn't actually use).

    Feels bad, man. "

  • go play a different game until it sorts itself out, not worth your time to play a game that's broken.

The past 6 years have been stressful. so damn stressful. we had some small blips of hope and then it got nerfed. then survivors got some nerfs but then got boon. This game has been so stressful, unfun, depressing, and honestly the worst gaming experience ever as killer for 6 damn years. now you cant bully or abuse the killer anymore? now the killer has a small edge up on you? so now YOU get to not have fun? i havent had fun in 6 damn years because of your overtuned broken crutch perks

    SMALL EDGE....LMAO

  • @InvadeGames said:

gens arent getting done because survs dont know how to play without DH. I dont run slowdown usually on killers and when i do its normally something basic like jolt. Im winning many games at 4 gens left to go because survs have no idea how to do chases without DH to save them.

I've never ran DH, I've always ran prove thyself, overcome, off the record and bot knowledge.

I'm going down x2 as fast due to all the basekit killer buffs, gens are not going down below 3 despite me being on one every chance I get. people keep saying adapt....like...what do you want me to adapt to, none of my perks got nerfed, nothing changed for me other than every killer is 10x stronger and doing gens seems like an impossible task now.

my last match our team actually got it down to 1 gen. you know why? because the killer let us, and it was a 3 gen scenario, you know what happens now in a 3 gen scenario? the whole team dies, there is zero counter to a 3 gen now if the killer never leaves the area...

Lol survivors prestige 0 or 1 and you think you are somebody.

he's not wrong, playing killer is literally the easiest PVP experience I've ever played in a video game.

  • as a killer main, I seriously don't know how some of you are even defending it.

I'm barely paying attention and I'm getting 4ks with 5 gens still up. this is not fun, this is painstaking boring and the challenge of playing killer has been reduced to zero, none of the wins even feel like an achievement anymore.

  • @Maperson said:

Most of them don't understand that it's not killers problem, it's solo q, they just need to add emotes to be closer to SWF

annnd that's my cue to leave this forum...

emotes...this man said all the problems will be solved with emotes....LMAO wow.

First I just played like I did to win and I had a kill rate of 3,7, its mixed with all kind of Killers cuz this is not a data analysis and I didnt seperate everything now. Its just to showcase the difference here.

Today I decided to try to play "nice". I put on make your choice and played with "hooking" builds like make your choice, pop, call of brine etc. All kind of perks that promote me to go to gens and play in a "nice" way.

I had a MUCH harder time, I struggled hard and barely got the same results as from yesterday with my normal gameplay. I got a killrate of 2,2 on average. Keep in mind I played roughly 30 games in both days.

I got even teabagged and laughed on cuz I am "bad" btw how nice of survivors :)

I was hoping that with the update it has been easier but somehow it is even harder to win now with a nice gameplay mindset. Idk what exactly causes that or maybe I just had a bad day and played in general worse today than yesterday.

Anyway I have the feeling you still are forced to slug, tunnel and camp to win in most games which is sad and boring.

if you can't 4k after these buffs in any playstyle then you can't be helped man. the game as killer is mind numbingly easy now...

It's been like 2 days, stop doom-posting and adapt to the new meta

PTB has been out longer than that and people were saying the same thing...

got destroyed in my first game of the patch so idk about that

    how?!

  • @Seraphor said:

They're supposed to be challenges, as in, difficult to do.

I'd be all for killer challenges that were actually hard to do, and in some cases they are.

60 seconds within 10 meters of the killer isn't throwing the game, it just requires a certain playstyle. Good survivors actually do this anyway in lining up a hook rescue.

Even the worst one of all, "rescue a survivor form the hook who rescued you previously in the same game", is something that will happen eventually. You don't need to throw yourself at the killer at the start of the game to have a shot at it. It can help if you really want to clear the challenge ASAP but it's not necessary.

If you seriously think crouching 10 meters next to a killer for a full 60 seconds isn't throwing then you've obviously never played this game.
