It does only if survivor is close and wraith had more time for reveal becaues sprintburst is 150% speed for 3 seconds thats 6 m/s which is 18 meters of distance in 3 seconds without any more haste buffs and wraith is 150% basekit when cloaked but he slows like under 2 m/s for 3 seconds when he is uncloaking and then has 1 second of 150% speed as uncloak boost which is 6 meters of distance so wraith covers and his lunge is 6.9 m/s as all killers so depends how close he is before you sprintburst and which direction you take like if you go near him he has same speed for 1 second and with his lunge he can hit you but all that depends when survivor uses sprintburst and where he will run (if he runs to other direction from wraith, waraith can only catch up but cant hit him).

Like in the other thread: you repeat my reasoning. In this case i explain it further in my second comment.

That was not my point. My point was that you need to use your Sprint Burst pretty badly to get hit by either of those abilities.

Just bc you need to think while using it, doesnt counter exhaustion. If we would be talking about Blight, i could understand it. But even against him, i would use exhaustion perks. Yh they are stronger against no mobility killer, but they are still top-tier-perks even against Blight.

You need to reply to the other guys which see it differently. Bc i agree with you.

Only reason comp blights win against comp swf is becaue they all can run ds,dead hard, shoulder the burden and other meta perks on multiple survivors because if they could than the blights would hardly get 2k even with hardcore tunneling (strategy eveyone is using in comp because its best one) because the normal comp perks and addons are very limited and team has usualy one guy with like two antitunnel perks that is meant for getting tunneled and slowing down killer, than someone with deli who is first saving and getting unhook than and if he stays unhook till endgame than its the one who will trade and secure another escape etc. the thing is if survivors had free hands in comp and could use meta perks like they wanted the chances of comp blights doing anything about it would be very uncertain due to comp swf coordination and ability to pull strategies without mistakes which isnt happening much in normal matches especialy with soloq teams or casual swf.

We both say the same thing.

I don't think you realize how few limitations there are on survivors in comp when playing against blight. Restrictions for season 10 of DBD league here

    https://docs.google.com/document/d/1EsmlJ-Ie7c_dFGhosm0W8P6zCmf6aJTRFbbVbj09upk

Item used when playing against blight, only major restriction is the firecracker, otherwise this looks like a pretty typical lobby.
1x Purple Medkit + Pink Charges + Brown Charges
1x Green Toolbox + Brown Addons
1x Blue Flashlight + Brown Addons
    1x Firecracker

The only perks outright banned on the survivor side that I regularly hear killers complain about are BGP and Dramaturgy (Edit: forgot vigil on that list), there is some anti-tunnel stuff on there like babysitter and off the record but DS and DH are not banned against tier one. Sure survivors can't double up on perks but that still leaves room for an exhaustion on everyone and overall good builds. Meanwhile tier one killers can't use pain res, grim embrace, or deadlock. DMS was outright banned. A bunch of my least favorite to play against perks and perk combos are on overall killer banned list.

Blight tends to play on coal tower but I have also seen him play on suffocation pit and blood lodge. I don't know exactly how they decide which map a killer gets and it seems to change match to match but all of the ones I have seen him play on are generally considered fairly balanced or survivor sided. We really only start to see the good maps for the particular killer come out when you get down to the likes of dredge (midwich) and ghostface (lerys).

    Screenshot_20251228_184652_Samsung Internet.jpg

There are plenty of things which are banned. And its not about what your random killer complains. A swf with power struggle etc is a menace. But the real thing would still be anti-tunnel-stacking.

there are a lot of average killers, yes, but all it takes is 1 weak link to drag a solo Q team down, so as a solo survivor you have to play at a high level to get a high escape rate in pub matches. it is the hardest game mode by far. I've watched some of the "best" DBD League survivors stream solo Q matches, and they die a lot if they don't have their viewers stream sniping them to effectively create a pseudo SWF.

Yh you need to be good and know some things, but mostly its luck.

But that doesnt make you good in comp.

The hard part in solo que is not to loop the killer for a long time, its making the killer chase you. Its to motivate your team, so they dont give up. But the most important part is the luck to get a decent team. (if you dont lobby dodge).

Well, i hope they are bugs (Victor sliding off survivors and Snug getting stuck).

Bugs now, features two years from now when they finally get mentioned by the devs.

I am definitely not asking for trap killers to be deleted. I can see why some people would enjoy setting up a web and seeing the payoff they get from it. I like gens more than the average person here (not actually sitting on them but the macro of trying to split them as much as possible).

I don't disagree with any of those possible buffs in theory but this is a weird game where what sounds decent in theory is often incredibly strong or incredibly weak, even experienced players get it wrong from just looking at patch notes or playing for a short time. I would certainly be OK with testing out changes like that on live for a bit. I just worry what the outcry might look like if they get even partially reverted (not that that's a good reason not to try).

Yh would be nice if they tried. But it would be fine for me, if nothing happens. I think there are enough killer in the game, so its not an issue if some are not that great. There are more important things which needs to be fixed.

At which point Wraith needs to cloak back up, catch up, play the mind games at whatever resource the survivor makes it to, and then maybe get the down. Myers, your just down. Unless the wraith has an expose perk its not really comparable and even then the perk is going to have way more limitations than Myers instadown.

That was not my point. My point was that you need to use your Sprint Burst pretty badly to get hit by either of those abilities.

    "expected to 4K"…exactly…

yes I could do comp, I just don't care too, I play for fun and I think the excessive restrictions are boring and don't agree with their balancing philosophy because it's a small group's opinion of what kind of gameplay they consider "fair". I've watched DBD League gameplay and while they are certainly talented players, I can compete with their skill level of even the ones that make it to the finals. They rely heavily on the benefits of SWF call outs to be so efficient, which is their main advantage. I routinely encounter pub survivors and killers that are good enough to compete in comp. I even watched a video by Otz once which showed that some random pub killers performed just as well as some popular comp killers. this is no insult to DBD League players, you just don't have to play in DBD League to get good at DBD. facing an uphill battle in solo Q over the span of a decade will do the trick. in fact, solo Q players encounter more adversity than comp players in DBD League since they don't have a coordinated SWF to cover their mistakes. facing back to back S tier killers in solo Q is far better training than running from a Trapper that isn't even using his traps in a 1 v 1 custom.

Yh like i said expected to 4k against survivor with "restrictions".

Mate, i play solo que for atleast 2-3k hours + 2k for killer and know what im talking about. Most S-tier-killer cant even play their character right.

As a Myers main (when I play killer), I would go out on a limb and say that they went too far with his buffs.
Slaughtering Strike is much too forgiving, and it can completely bypass exhaustion perks like Sprint Burst, Lithe, Balanced Landing etc.
Flicking on PC is also way too easy to do, and you are almost always guaranteed a down whenever you use it, since there is no counterplay to it, other than pre-dropping.

I'd say they need to tone down Slaughtering Strike's duration of the charge itself to roughly 65% of what it is today, and also make stalking take 2x or 3x longer, as compared to what it does today, since it is way too easy to get fully stalked, and gain access to a very strong ability.

But with that reasoning Wraiths uncloak boost can also outplay Sprint Burst.

Blight still dominates comp SWF's. Best comp killers > best comp SWFs. Matchmaking is a huge part of the issue, but matchmaking and balance are not two separate issues. The overall balance of matches depends on matchmaking. And if there are simply not enough players to find balanced matches with top tier killers for the majority of the player base that are solo Q or casual SWFs, then those top tier killers deserve a nerf. Dead by Daylight is not a comp game like CS GO, so we don't need to balance around the top 1 percent. DBD League changes half the game rules just to achieve what they consider balance.

The devs said themselves their priority is to make the game fun, which is why MMR score is invisible. Queuing up for unwinnable matches against top tier killers as solo Q or a casual SWF is not fun, nor is it even scary to face these killers, it is just lame when there is little to no counter play. Personally in solo Q, I do pretty well compared to most, because I have 4K hours of learning to cope with unfair balance, and I essentially hard carry average level survivors 90 percent of my matches to get a decent escape rate. I could compete at a high level on DBD League if I wanted to, but I don't like all the rules and restrictions they have. The balance of the game was much better pre 6.1 update. SWFs may have dominated the highest MMR back then, but for the average pub match, both sides could have fun and games were much closer. Nowadays the top tier killers just steam roll the majority of pub matches if they have spent more than 20 hours to learn that killer. Such that you frequently have relatively mediocre killers stomping survivors with several times more experience. I can legit put a tiny fraction of the time I spent mastering survivor into playing any given killer, even the low tier ones, and still have a much higher kill rate because it is so damn easy to play killer nowadays.

Thats just plain wrong. Blight does not dominate comp swf, its pretty even.

Yes, they are expected to 4k in comp, but survivors are harder limited than blight. No perks repeats, more bans and then items restrictions. Im also no map expert for Blight, but normally killer get good maps in comp.

And you couldnt compete at a high level. Play 1vs1 ladder if comp is too complicated for you.

But taking breaks doesnt really fix the issue within the game.

I play soloq, mates are throwing.

Definitely agree that the most important thing is that they feel good and fun to play. With a roster this large some are always going to be stronger than others. Hard to say how bad twins and houndmaster would feel since its so hard to judge with all their bugs, though I still love houndmaster because pubby :)

Problem for some is that if you remove their clunkiness, which here I am assuming you mean cooldowns, animations, speed of power actions, and the like, they can easily become overpowered. At that point the only way to make them less clunky feeling would be a rework to their power or some other nerf to go along with it (which could just move the clunky feeling to a different place).

I do understand the desire to update trapper but I just don't see a way to buff him that keeps him as "The Trapper" without making him incredibly oppressive to play against. A trapper that camps a strong three gen from the start of the match can be incredibly frustrating as is, a decent team wins almost every time but it tends to be a long boring match (at least its a boring match for me).

I mostly was talking about the bugs. Well, i hope they are bugs (Victor sliding off survivors and Snug getting stuck).

There are some ways to make Trapper better. Long 3-gen-games will always be the best for trap killers, but if you dont want that you need to delete trap killers completely. (Buffed trapper would still be worse than Singularity)

Gathering all traps in one place is always the best strategy, but its even worse for Trapper to spread them out. While Singularity or even Hag can get value from a far trap, Trapper gets maybe an injure if the survivor was healthy. You could give him a speedboost while someone is trapped, but its more likely used in chase than as traverse tool. (If survivor run in pairs, they are immediately out anyway)

Collecting the traps is only Trappers problem. Everyone else has unlimited supply. The problem is basement trapping. If you could run throught traps with bt even uncoordinated survivor would get out. Maybe even give survivor a tool to disable traps for 20 sec. (similar to EMPs) But a simple method to get a trap without going to the other end of the map, would be great. (Maybe with a cooldown)

You could also make the addon basekit, which disables traps if you walk through as trapper. Doesnt make im incredible strong, but you have a bit more options.

I don't fully agree with Oni, considering how easy his power is to hit nowadays, as compared to how he used to be like. You know, when flicking actually took skill to pull off.
Old Oni was pretty balanced, current Oni is not.

Understandable, it just seems we have a complete different measurement for killers. If i rate Oni, i expect skills like flicking. If i cant do it, its not the weakness of the killer.

For me Oni is balanced, bc it is easy to down someone with his power. Thats his strength. His weakness is getting a normal hit.

If you count players which couldnt use the old power properly old Oni was weak as hell. And i speak from experience, i cant flick.

A really good nurse beats 4 really good survivors the majority of the time. Spirit is in a perfectly fine spot. Sure there are a bunch of killers that need some love but it isn't half the cast and the main thing keeping them down is having to compete under the same conditions as nurse and blight.

I wont disagree that spirit is in a fine spot, but she is stronger than atleast 30 of the other killer.

Imo not every killer needs to be good and its more important that they dont feel clunky to play (Houndmaster, Twins) or completely outdated (Trapper). Yh killer like Legion are weak, but just switch to a stronger killer if you want a chance against 4 good survivors.

  • @100PercentBPMain said:

spirit could go beast mode if I could turn off chase music and aim dressing. plz I am tired of chopping wood. it bugs me on spirit in particular because she's balanced now so she doesn't have time for things like waiting she has to pounce like a kitty cat so survivors can't react fast enough

I wont say that Spirit is not balanced, but if you take 4 really good survivors even nurse is balanced.

Which killers are balanced in your opinion? I would say Artist, Oni, Plague etc are in a good spot (and that makes half the cast too weak) and Spirit is a bit ahead of them.

I mean, the way I see it is that BHVR is already milking the game dry.

Might as well give it to someone who will do that and maybe has the capability to make the game better.

Not really. They just let it quietly generate money.

    Milking would be:

    • Skins which cost 150 euro. Better, you need to buy the entire collection to get the skin for free. So its not an obvious insane priced skin, its a present for loyal customers...
    • Little unnecassary gimmicks. Cheap, but they add up. Blue light for your flashlight? Also a funny sound? 5 euros each. Better, its only available in a bundle with a skin you dont want. And make it time-exclusive.
    • And why bring old rift-skins back? Wait until everyone wants them badly and then bring a slight recolor. Could also work for legacy. Just make it blue.

But you could also give dbd to an asia-publisher:

    • Slower progression and the ability to speed it up with money
    • Lootbox/Gacha-systems
    • Pay-to-win-booster: how about a 5th perk slot per use

And i really hope behaviour does not read those ideas.

    • Something to do. Ranks, challenges for special skins,...
    • They could fix the stats tracker
  • @Pulsar said:

Sell the game to a better company, tbh.

I thought this was a horrid idea once, because BHVR may not be competent, but they did care.

Now? I don't think they care nor are they competent. They seem to just use DBD to develop more games that nobody really buys or plays.

Get a lump sum of cash for the game, and give it to a better development studio.

But who has the money to buy it and wont milk the game dry to get that money back?

  • @Abbzy said:

It works but only if survivor doesnt have the room to go somewhere from the killer which will make him buy the time and with 3x faster guard depleate chase time when killer is in that 12 meter range so it mostly works only in zoned location where survivor doesnt have options or if survivor is clueless because good survivor can loop both knight and his guard on the shack and get rid of the guard before he gets hit or knight catchs up (unless its jailer but he doesnt chase forever when your are as knight to close to that chased survivor and things like droping the pallet will force the guard to go around whole shack so its free preasure from it and killer can be dealt with easily as m1 on shack, thats exsample).

So knight is like hag unless survivors doesnt know how to counter his guards and how they work he can do fine but when you face team like this well it feels terrible like no set traps trapper you are just m1 with faster break through carnifex who isnt good for anything else since his rework (he was before best guard but now he is just breaking and kicking tool than chasing tool as ai guard doing work for you and jailer is best and than assasin is second best in my opinion).

Im not sure i understand correctly. Do you mean that you can loop the knight on shack without dropping the pallet (and its even worse if you drop the pallet)?

Bc if you need to drop a god pallet to survive a pincer its still good for the killer.

Its real just not alot of people talk about as majority of the time it gets ridiculed but lately i have seen it gaining strength and more people openly talking about it and less ridicule so that a postive.

and it is very valid and real as dont forget while survivors have teammates/friends to cover their mistakes killer is all by themselves where a single mistake can cost them the whole game (this was even said in the video should give it a watch)

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4039764#Comment_4039764

I would say personally reduce gen effiency will be a great step to alleviate killer anxiety for example base corrupt and deadlock that would attack the gen effiency and take some anxiety away from the killers about potentially making a bad chase and survivors complete 60% of their objectives in 90 seconds (Gen is worth roughly 20% of their objectives if you wondering where i got 60% from)

Making it easier to win would work, but thats not the point here. Some changes like that paired with anti-tunnel changes to even it out, wouldnt be bad for the game, but its not how you should tackle that specific problem.

The best way are simpler personal "wins". Hook everyone once etc. Best case, they make old bbq stacks basekit like someone suggested.

Beginner lobbies with bots where you can earn bp could also be a good option to get started.

It's the psychological aspect I've been trying to figure out as well. Bagging is almost always held in the same regard as mechanics that actively prevent players from even playing the game at all and at times treated as if it warrants more attention.

Thats an interesting question. Teabagging especially is widespread in the gaming culture. So why is it far more hated in DBD than in other games?

One reason could be what it stands for/gets associated with. In DBD its normal to get many insulting messages (bc there is no console-chat people even use pms on playstation). First teabags, then messages. So people associate a stronger negative feeling with teabags.

Another reason could be the asymmetric gameplay. If 4 people do it to one person its more similar to bullying as one cod player against another one.

Whatever it is, killer anxiety is a common thing. And i dont really know why it is.

This image alone should make anyone who says its survivor sided, shut up.

And no, its not designed to be survivor sided, it never was.

(Yes, even with the drastic meta's on both sides with perks and maps)

I dont want to flip the game to be survivor sided.

The Problem for me is, why should i ever play survivor when it requires more hours for less reward, for less fun than it is on killer?.

Even on events, besides one event this year, being bloodmoon, you have no reason to ever play survivor as a more experinced player, who isnt thirsty for bloodpoints.

You shouldnt play something that isnt fun for you. But everyone is different. I played mostly survivor for the event and only three killer rounds (for the killer-only challenges). I am an experienced player with zero need for bloodpoints and i play only solo que.

  • The best way is to trade health states. You should get one or two stuns normally and then finish it with trades. Wait at the pallet, let them hit you, then stun them.

Many skilled Apex players enjoy playing Ranked mode.

Many Apex professional players choose Ranked because they aim for the Predator title.

Similarly, many Valorant players who are confident in their skills enjoy Competitive mode.

Many Valorant professional players aim for Radiant in Competitive mode to prove their skill.

    So, what about DBD?

With the introduction of Ranked mode, the top 500 Bright players are awarded the Iridescent (Bright) title.

Rather than meaningless records like a 2,000-win streak in Casual mode,

I choose to aim for Iridescent in Ranked mode.

I played apex a lot and things are a bit different. They have or had very strict mmr. That meant that my team got harder lobbies in the "casual" mode than in ranked. (Only until the Diamond rank)

It was more relaxed to play ranked than casual. The best experience for new players was too play in Bronze or Silver. But to be fair they probably would have been fine in the casual mode bc they had low mmr. They just couldnt play the casual mode together with a friend who had high mmr.

Sadly the best way for a real casual que is how Cod Warzone does it. They have playlists with bots. They say some bots, but there are a lot of bots and a few real players. But you can level your account normally in those modes.

Imagine you are a pro blight player and you try to archive a 2000+ Winstreak

Where would you go for the best chances?

In the ranked mode where most of the people tryhard and could beat you

Or in the Casual mode where you can slug and tunnel as much as you want against uncoordinated teams?

I also agree, that many player would use it to get free wins, but the winstreak guys would probably stop. They want to show their achievements and then everyone would mock them for choosing easy mode over the comp. mode.

Isn't flashlight timing pretty easy now? Not as bad as that one time but iirc its a lot more forgiving than it had been for quite a while.

Yes, but only if you are too early. With faster animations you are too late and its probably impossible. But its not the reason, Lightborn exists too.

  • Maybe the animation would look very weird.

  • The ranking is not that simple. And my experience is from 65% solo que, 35% killer.

Its true at the bottom is solo que. A special kind of solo que player. If you have two or sometimes even one of them in your team, you are doomed.

Then there are the average killer. Dominate weak survivor, but they cant ever catch a good one. They are montage material for streamer.

Then theres the average swf. From my experience most bully squads are in this group. That doesnt mean that many of them are bully squads.

    But its not over yet.

Then there are the good killers with weak and average characters.

After them are 3-4 good solos. The chance of this happening is pretty slim bc matchmaking is weird.

Followed by good players with strong killers and some insane players with average killer.

And lastly 4 good survivor in a swf. S-tier killer are probably on par, but i have no experience on this level.

Except avg player count is still higher than last year in December and if you look at previous years this is normal fluctuation of this games player amounts. They always drop in December and usually starts slowly rising after January until it peaks again in June/July.

And this year there was no new chapter in november. So its completely normal.

Now, neither Hellraiser or Halloween left the game because of BHVR.

Hellraiser had licensing problems with the ownership changing.

And Halloween is being pulled because of the new game made by Gun.

A hellraiser game is also announced for 2026.

My point was, they are strong, but it doesn't feel cheap when you get hit by their powers. Especially by Nurse, since she is suffering by several severe bugs for 2 years so far and counting, like the rubber banding bug that can just steal your blink attempt out of nowhere. Meanwhile, whenever you get hit by your usual dash slop, it always feel like the guy just pressed a button and got you, without much effort. This is why dash slop is hated.

for her number 1 killer spot

She is no longer number 1, that's the Blight's place now. Nurse is number 2 at most. She lacks map control due to slow map mobility, which makes her easy to genrush, while Blight's map control is unmatched. Beside already mentioned bugs, she is also the most sensitive to "subtle" speedhackers, as just a few percent of speed increase can make it impossible to catch up to the survivor who is holding W. Meanwhile Blight is the most tolerant to speedhackers, since no "subtle" speedhacker can outrun the Blight. Yes, we now have to account for cheaters when we discuss game balance, as they are now so frequent they are part of the base game at this point. So no, I don't think the Nurse needs another nerf, at least not until her bugs are fixed and her basekit reverted to the original form.

The number one spot is not as clear as you make it to be. Yes, Blight has better map mobility, but nurse has also her strengths. Good pallets and god pallets will buy you time against Blight, but the Shack pallets doesnt stop the tunnel out. There are a lot of strengths and weaknesses, but both killers are roughly the same. There was a showcase on youtube some weeks ago (streamer/comp players), which probably compared them better.

And Nurse isnt that skillful/rewards good players. She is pretty easy if you compare it to the entire killer rooster. Yes, she is not insane easy to play like Kaneki, but that shouldnt be the benchmark.

  • Maybe the puppet-skin for Dredge and the Birch Witch-skin for Hag. But im not sure bc i dont play both of them often. On the other hand i bought the minotaur-skin for Oni, a full purple outfit for the Spirit and the Naughty Bear-skin for Trapper and i dont play them either.

I would really like a nice skin for Unknown and one for Ace (he has a lot of skins but i only like a few). A skin with an unique mori would also be great, but i dont like the Were-Elk enough.

  • Yh the screaming interaction with objects like totems or jigsaw boxes works well. Old ultimate weapon was producing a lot of dcs back in the day. A map offering like the Game or Midwitch amplifies the power, but its a pretty low chance now.

The addon for longer search time/Toth for totem builds makes it even easier. But its not a safe win, good teams will still have a good chance of winning (it all depends on your ability to get downs). Against solo que its really effective, one survivor will most likely give up anyway.

  • Above is one of the biggest problem with DBD-players.

Two people who both only play one half of the game.

"shouldnt tilt the match too much in your favor"

I guess that's the distinction. I personally don't think, at this point in the game, that any iri add-ons are winning the game for anyone. In the past sure, and the devs took action on those. But if they need to be nerfed to the point where you're not guaranteed to get value, then drop the rarity. As it stands, iri add-ons (particularly for survivor because their bloodwebs are far more bloated) are hard to find and costly. They should provide value. I'm not calling for buffs here, I'm saying i think they're in a good place currently and I'm not sure why the devs are touching them. They're not game breaking.

Its gotten a lot better but there are still some problematic ones. (Specific unfun situations like an camping iri huntress aside)

Its nothing gamechanging like the tombstone piece, but some killers like Spirit get a strong powerboost.

The biggest problem with survivor items is the amount. You always need to consider the possibility of 4 survivor using it. 4 BNPs feel awful in the endgame screen. But honestly survivor dont even use it for the fastest escape world record, so its not even that problematic.

Not sure i follow, sorry. Someone was complaining about how strong the add-ons can be in certain circumstances, and my point was that people getting value from their add-ons should be expected. Particularly so for the add-ons that are the hardest to find and cost the most. That goes for both killers and survivors.

I think the entire concept of altering your strength with consumables in a mp-game is kinda bad design.

Altering your playstyle is a fun mechanic and even addons and items everyone can bring every game (bc of their lower rarity) could boost aspects of the gameplay. And yh i could bring iris every game bc i have a lot, but i speak about the general playerbase.

But iri-items (and that includes not many of them bc most of them are not that strong) shouldnt tilt the match too much in your favor. How annoying would it be if some guy would bring a limited-time-supergun in a shooter and you just need to deal with it. Even if its just a slight boost, it just feels annoying and you want to play a fair match instead.

There can be several bugs that cause the same thing. So if there is still same kind of bug happening then report it again. Still it does not mean they did not fix one version of the bug or something else happened that caused similar bug to happen again.

This game has so many moving parts that its not surprise that bugs happen and I can admit that they clearly did not do bug fixing that much other than those that new content had and even those not that long usually doing only two bug fix patches after release of new chapter. Still what I have observed on the bug reports after they said they heard the complaints was more activity and clear indications that they are bringing the reports to the attention of devs. Some of those are fixed in the latest PTB bug fix list.

I have theories why the bug fixing has been lack luster main one is that they did not have dedicated bug fixer dev only those that were doing new content and only fixing bugs if they had any time to do some after finishing the chapter but most likely they rarely had any real time to do so. So bugs were not really getting fixed in the end.

The problem is simple. Yes, its a big game with a lot of interacting stuff, but there are other games like that. But almost every other big game started as a big project with clean code. DBD was a little side project. They didnt build it with the vast amount of content which we now have in mind. Now everything stands on a very shaky foundation.

I noticed way more toxicity since pallet density update even in normal queue and not like I am surprised. Back in the days, the stronger survivors were, more toxic they were to killer for no reason. Because, why not mocking your opponent, when you are almost invincible, right?
And now I find myself in this situation pretty often: entity knows why I picked low/mid tier killer, and every one emotes me / teabaging me from the start, standing near 6 connected pallets and tiles.
And it's normal queue, what should you except from 2v8, which is survivor sided to some ludicrous degree?
Not like I didn't see "gg ez" from killers, there are a lot of sore winners too, but I think it's almost the rule: the stronger survivors are – more toxic they are.

From my experience its a problem with survivor skill level. There are always exceptions but really good players are not as toxic.

If i lose at my best, i rarely encounter toxic behaviour. But if i lose bc i played badly (difficult map, not my main, just a bad day, etc.), people are more likely to be toxic.

  • @Colt45m said:

Ok I get competitive games like this is going to have toxic behavior. It's normal but teabagging at the exit gate wasting yours and the killers time is kind of obnoxious. I think like just in the vicinity of the exit gate if the killer hits you it should block the exit gates for 2 seconds. It might be a way to discourage the behavior. Thoughts? I personally think it could be a positive thing for the game.

That makes no sense. They could just teabag, leave and not give a hit.

    The abandon-suggestion sounds ok.

  • Not really avoiding. I always took everything i wanted and then tried to spend the least amount of bloodpoints. I took dozens of brown stuff i will never use.

But then came bulkspending. Now i just pump 1 million in the new survivor, get the new perks on my mains and then back to bulkspending when i reach 5 million.

That might be true, but it wasn't nearly as widespread as it became after the finisher mori update.

No, it was completely the same. Well, its just how i feel, bc we dont have stats.

But i think that people care a lot more about the 4k than seeing the same mori 100 of times.

I personally dont do it bc i dont count hatch as killer.

I don't know how helpful that would truly be.

For one, if you've played this game long enough, you've likely already seen mutiple MMR brackets. Your different killers will be in different ones depending on how you perform with them. If you play with friends as survivor and some are better and some are worse than you, they'll likely be dragging you around too. We've also all been backfill before.

Second, we all know this matchmaking is terrible. I never know what I'll get from one game to the next. There's zero consistency, and I can also tell when my opponenent/s are above or below my level. So what does your MMR even tell you when it's this loose?

Third, the stats page appears to count survivor abandons and DCs as non-deaths that don't affect MMR so how accurate can any of it be anyway?

And last, it will be very cliquey and people will 100% use it to invalidate each other. Everyone will have a visible team they think the game should revolve around. This week I've been hit with the "You must be low MMR" and "you're probably keeping your MMR low on purpose," two forum classics. I can't imagine how much worse it would get if we had numbers to brandish.

But "You must be low MMR" is not helpful for the discussion anyway. Even if someone was, the opinion is still valid. For example: you could say a noobstomper killer is no problem, bc the survivor just need to get better. But if the first experience is so bad that people quit, it will hurt the game. So the opinion of a low-mmr-player is really important.

    There are two scenarios:

A: You have both reached the mmr cap. You have different opinions and its just like that.

B: You are under the mmr cap. You understand why your experiences differ. Yes, some will say your opinion doesnt matter bc of i, but thats not the case. Its more about people being rude, but they dont need some stats to look down on others.

  • @cogsturning said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4020798#Comment_4020798

They should have never made that damn stats page. It's like you're obligated to show stats to have any leverage. It'd be the same with MMR, though at least that can go both ways. "You're low/high MMR so you don't understand the problems of high/low MMR."

But would that really be bad?

The problem would be people who dont acknowledge that things need to be balanced for low and high mmr at the same time. Its completely fair to say that some player dont understand some problems, but its wrong to say that their opinion doesnt matter bc of it.

There will always be new player or some who dont want to sweat, so its obvious that you need to improve their experience. "Get good" or statshaming will always be there, but thats just toxic people.

And there will always be people who reach "high mmr" and they need a fair environment. So both opinions are valid.

Without stats people cant differentiate between each other. And when both groups argue in the same thread, they both think the other one talks completely bs, bc their experience is obviously different.

The games already toxic and games like call of duty, friday the 13th have proven comm systems are a lot of fun and attract players. Plus its good for socializing too. I think this would be the best idea for survivors and killers. Survivors so they have communication and killers so they can play how they like without judgement. Then the next step after that would be to buff the lower tier killers so they are still a threat. I just feel it would make the game much more fun. This would also help against the higher MMR swfs as well with the new buffs.

What about comms in cod is fun? Maybe taunting an enemy, but there is certainly noone who does callouts.
