    3: isn't that Spirit Fury?

Similar but it isn't being stun by it but destroying the pallets that triggers it. I thought it would mix well with Spirit Fury.

  • Well since they release the thing from Stranger things, believe me it will happen.

Personally, if survivors are going to have role queue and be locked into one set of perks only. The only way I can logically see balance here is for the killer teachable perks to be locked onto each killer, so EVERY killer won't be able to yunno, run BBQ, Ruin and Nurses. For eg. Spirit can only run Spirit Fury, Haunted Grounds and Rancor and nothing else. Mainly cause if you already have all perks available to you and survivors can only pick up a handful from the "roles" it leverages the game in such a way that killers always have the advantage since killers would have a power AND perks to work with; which you all already do tbh. Looping and running is the only things survivors can do to survive. And finally, some of you all comment on these forums and act like you forgot you're the killer in the game. If you really can't catch or strategically set up a game to help yourself win with ALL the perks and a power available to you as it is now, then you probably need some practice. But okay, go off I suppose 🤦🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️

    Wrong on so many lvls.

First off looping isn't the only option but should rather be your last option.

I killed so many loopers bc they weren't even trying to hide.

Also, killers have "so many perks" ? Wait what ? Add-on maybe but perks ?

Survivors without even bringing tools can: iframe, heal, get up from dying state, get an auto deadhard, unhook themselves, etc.

  • Wow ppl can you stop commenting, it's ######### up whem I try to post stuff and with the new chapter stranger things odc about role queues anymore lol

  • I find it funny everyone compares to moba and fps as if there was no horror game with roles. Anyways jeez I should title all my Killer and survivor ideas as "role queu" at 678 views rn. XD

This game is supposed to be a scary asym game, not overwatch. The lack of comunication was an intentional design to make survivors not know the intentions of the other survivors to increase weariness of working with them. Doing this would almost entirely defeat the purpose of this being a horror game since it's now just an asymertical reverse pac-man fan fiction.

To all the people who were about to comment "BuT ThE GaMe DoSeNT ScAre ME!11!1!!" You need to relax, if you are on these forums you likely have been playing for a while, you are numb to this games horror. To new player this game could actualy be scary and I think thats a big bit of the apeal.

If this was true survive together wouldn't exist, Just like "Don't even think"

  • And again during private matches you could run your regular builds and what not.

I just think adding a role queue during random matchmakings would help focus everyone's attention towards a simple goal, leading towards the bigger goal (team escape).

  • DbD only saving grace is the shrine of secrets but Evolve probably had loot boxes or something right ?

Eeeehh...I can't really agree or disagree.

I got into Evolve when it became Evolve² and the rotating paywall & Role Queue forced me to play Healer in my first game (I queued for DPS).

Because of the rotating paywall, the 'free' healer was the Bug person; THE HARDEST HEALER. Which I was forced to play...when I did not know the mechanics..

My team made literal death threats after the game was over. There was no way to report in game, so I posted on the forums and got told 'Yeah. Mods don't care. Suck it up and move on'

So Evolve² was garbage and even the Role Queue was trash, IMO.

Well of course pay walls are complet garbadge BUT then again I had to pay for killers and survivors to get a few perks I wanted.

Wow, ok, even though I was a Shelly main.

What next? Like f13 you want survivors to have seperate stats?

This role queue idea is one of the worst ideas on the forums I've seen in a while, sorry man but this would kill the game and will never happen.

Nothing wrong with running around with DH whilst your team fixes gens, it's teamwork, one distracts the killer, three do gens.

Well I run as Tiffany so yw for all those car parts.

My point was more that ppl could know, especially randos, what their teammates will be doing during the game.

    You're talking about Evolve.

That game self-destructed because of bad monitization practices and a player base so caustic they could lick steel and watch it melt.

Wether the community was...wtv...the game design was pretty sharp imo. Of course Killers that could fly accros the map was a bit OP tho

  • @twistedmonkey said:

The reason roles don't work in this game is it creates meta characters. The ones with the best perks will always be the ones you see. This is why survivors are just skins in essense.

Imo roles are bad due to the ones which reward normal play being better. Take healing others for example it is too dependent on wether the killers allows it and also if the other survivors let you heal them. Then there is the risk of people not doing certain actions due to it not being rewarded for their role.

This may work out better with SWF but random solo players won't care about the others they will use what they feel is strongest for them.

That's why most would queue as tank but those that enjoy healing, hiding or repairing stuff would queue for the other roles.

I agree healing would be a bit situational but a dev could find another similar action to reward. Or maybe if a survivor lets the healer heal them they both get extra BP.

  • Not it isn't but it is very similar! I came accros it too.

The game is basically you kill and eat animals to grow a mutation and get strong enough to kill the hunters after you.

They on the opposite side have to find you as quick as possible before you Fully mutate. If that happen or they suffer a death they can try to escape.

DBD matchmaking is already bad enough with long wait times for games and poor rank matching. Imagine how long you would have to wait in order to find 4 survivors of unique roles who are close to each other in rank...

As others have said, it's an idea that simply wouldn't be viable for DBD.

Identity V is on phone, has ranks AND roles. Even then the queues are similar to DbD.

I see a lot of ppl saying it wouldn't work but it would. Wether it would be a good idea or not so far in the game's life can be debated BUT it would work.

  • Personal rule from F13.

Never listen to a Chad, sorry.

  • Also, whilst looking I saw Identity V. Which is literally Dead by Daylight but with puppets.

They have roles and except the pc cheaters it works pretty well.

  • Bc 1 I didn't know and 2 wasn't even the point.

Anyways back on topic; I'm still looking for the name of the game. Basically you are 4 hunters (Medic, trapper, etc) vs a killer (xenomorph, chtullu, etc.)

  • @Locker_Monster said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/636666#Comment_636666

If you'd use proper punctuation, I'd have known you meant Last Year the game, not 'last year' as in 'Not a game from last year'.

    Imagine that.

Okay ? I'm sorry from the 4 languages I speak english isn't my best. Sue me.

  • @Locker_Monster said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/636655#Comment_636655

You mean that DBD ripoff in a school where the Survivors can kill the Killer, which almost always ends with the Killer being trolled/camped & losing?

Yeah..that game does not have any ideas DBD needs.

*Looking at my "it's not last year"*

    ...

  • @TheGameZpro3 said:

Even if roles was "such a great idea" the roles would be HORRIBLY unbalanced. Like out of all 65 survivor perks, only 10 would actually make sense to be in the healer role as an example.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/261/8U90S3MLCPBV.png

Yes but as mentionned not all would be locked to classes. Most would be cross roles perks.

  • The fact that your thoughts went to OW when I based it off the pc horror game with those exact classes (not last year...Hunter ? Hunted ? I can't remember) is funny to me. XD

  • See what I mean lol most ppl here are just mad bc they couldn't just run around using DH and letting their team do the rest whilst farming BP.

This as to be stop and role queues would help A LOT.

Anyways my opinion feel free to disagree ^^

  • It would and it would force ppl to actually work as a team much more than rn.

No matter of the popular/unpopular opinion. It would also balance the survivors.

  • @Locker_Monster said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/636618#Comment_636618

    ..What?

Still, I think roles would not work in this game. Just because they work in different games (Mostly FPS's) does not mean they'd work here.

Eumm of you don't know about the Berlin wall riot...idk...one of the most famous riot of all time ?

  • You could still use any characters but their perks has to match the role requirement. Certain perks could be cross roles.

Also, these rules wouldn't be applied to private matches.

  • This isn't the Berlin wall ppl

  • It would make the game Much better and balanced imo. Everyone would still be able to use most perks and repair gens or wtv but it wouldn't be "efficient". It would also add a goal for each survivor instead of just "I* need to survive".

(phone at 5% I'll explain mode later)

Because crouching around and "trying" (because no one even tried they were just wasting time) to do gen is more skillful

Weren't YOU the one saying being stealthy was useless ?

Do you know how many times I've fixed the last gen by just crouching and moving around it ? ALONE.

  • @Milo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/635161#Comment_635161

Oh yes, im one of those. Those totally help in EGC 1v1 scenario right?

The hatch now exists anytime theres one survivor to either let them escape or activate EGC aka a timer that forces the survivor to act.

Also your response had nothing to do with 1v1 scenario.

No but those are the one usually sending hate mail to their own team. And tbh seeing someone 360° the killer doesn't impress me, especially if they can't stay hidden for more than 30s.

  • Tbh none of those are what makes the Pig easy for me.

It's the fact her stalk doesn't counter my premonition so trying to charge at me is out of the question.

When the Pig stalk it should be like Myers and counter psychic perks.

  • @Milo said:

Because crouching around and "trying" (because no one even tried they were just wasting time) to do gen is more skillful

    Yes bc that's the way to do it...so you're one of those "360 360 360 360 ... Where was I ? Oh yeah 360 360 360" ppl.

Your juking abilities are completly useless unless someone is crouching nearby doing a gen.

  • Let me guess; you dead hard, pallet, juke and butt dance meanwhilst your friend was nearby with an insta heal ready to fix any mistake you'd make.

Yeah idk if it's the killer Who was toxic...just saying...

  • @Milo said:

Because crouching around and "trying" (because no one even tried they were just wasting time) to do gen is more skillful

Well yes since it requires you to make use of angle of views, timing, instinct or outsmart the killer.

You do realize there are other things you can do beside dead hard and 360° turn...

Honestly, I hate survivors like you. Those that have no understanding of this game mechanics and have such small minds they can't even understand the different roles.

I bet all you do is run, do 360° and ######### it up for everyone everytime you try to do a gen.

  • @Milo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/632874#Comment_632874

5/7k BP? If people want to play 5+ minute game for those BP go ahead that 1 rando survivor who waits for their team to die.

(Also saying opening the door at 1v1 scenario, against some killers, isn't skillfull idk what to tell you)

Bc just jumping right in when no gens were even repaired is more skillful ? At least we had standards before.

  • @PigNRun said:

This came with the introduction of EGC. It is a bit unfortunate, but its the way to ensure matches have a pseudo time limit. If the Killer kills everyone before the hatch opens, then the Survivor can just immerse their way around and drag the duration of the match.

Even so at least it requires more skills than just letting your entire team die and then running around the map for the hatch or the doors.

Like what are we rewarding here ?

  • Idk if no gens have been repaired I feel like it shouldn't even spawn or it should require an opening time...

  • Kind of yes.

But without becoming invisible or anything. Also, another nerf could be that your body emits the same kind of light as when you place a marker in the world with the map.

The power of hope... it's supposed to be miniscule to the power of despair, of fear, that the killers are supposed to bring.

But, the Entity always wants more hope to consume, so who knows if this would give it.

This is exactly why this power as so many down side compared to the positive aspects. The survivor do not get any speed buff, damage negation or even stealth.

  • @thisdude9001 said:

1- Blinding faith: can only imagine this being to useful when forcing killers to drop a survivor when saving them from getting hooked 3 seconds of blindness isn't to long to escape with.

2- Ask and you shall receive : 3 free pallets is to good, also would recommend including the sinner and devoted status onto the perk itself and not them statuses.

3- God's wrath : Hurting other teammates is not a good goal, maybe make it so you are hurt instead but the perk doesn't work if you are already in the injured state and allows you to be healed faster. Maybe rename it Holy mans burden.

    Overall this seems pretty cool.

Very good ideas I particularly like the last one!

  • @Mrrgle_the_Mediocre said:

I don't feel like the Deep Wounds status effect is enough of a trade off for Survivors getting off of your shoulder more often. That doesn't seem to make sense; wouldn't you rather just hook them to get closer to winning, rather than let them get off so you have to spend longer getting them back on your shoulder so you can hook them again? This is definitely a pre-green rank mindset. Letting someone get off of your shoulder intentionally is quite possibly one of the worst things you could do.

Every second of a match is invaluable for later rank killer games and wasting it by being stunned and having to refind the person who got off seems silly. I think the Wiggle buff shouldn't be part of it, it makes the perk not very useful.

Yeah in retrospective I agree the wiggling buff is a bit too much when you take in account the perks already helping them get away.

  • @thisdude9001 said:

This is really cool, really like the idea of the survivors having some magical abilities, but imagining Dwight shooting lasers of his hand is kinda weird.

Blinding hope: Should make it so it takes a couple seconds to blind killer (like the flashlight) sense this is basically a free extra item. Also does the time add up between chases? or if you lose the killer for .002 seconds does it start over?

Flame of Truth: how long does this last? Looks good other wise. Duration should be decent for how situational this is.

Will of the ancestors: really cool, feel like the killer should have some way of telling its an projection by seeing its aura or something of the sort. Basically this could lead to an enter team just hiding and sending these bad boys out. This is just a safer way to play the game. Also can you cancel it?

Radiant soul probably isn't necessary at all. Making noise and producing light would make it much harder to hide form killer.

Blinding hope; would be cumulative, you don't lose it if you escape the Killer. It would be similar to a ressource meter, actually the exact same thing as a regular flashlight.

Flame of truth; I forgot to put the time but it would be something like 3s/4s/5s.

Will of the ancestors; Yes the survivor would turn light blue with static for 3s every 20s.

Radiant soul; it's exactly for that reason, to "nerf" all the skills a bit more.

Ty for your comment and opinions tho it's really appreciated !

  • @Raven014 said:

In the lore of the game, survivors only have access to what the Entity deems necessary, such as perks, items, and offerings. This perk would break that because it gives a power that a killer already uses, which would be a big no-no. The Entity doesn't want survivors to have access to what killers do.

Then again, a survivor created the Hatch, so what do I know? Maybe one survivor could discover that kind of secret ability, but why would they want to teach it?

    So many questions...

Well tbh it's up to interpretation but I believe the campfire to be a sort of beacon for the survivors hope. Tamed but not controlled by the entity and in a world where the breath of a deceased collegue can allow a decripid nurse to blink, what could the power of hope do ?

  • @thisdude9001 said:

The risk seems minimal with leaving your body in a good hiding spot but whats the point? You cant really do anything while astral projected.

Again the idea would be to be aware of the killer whereabout or to safely leurre h towards an area you know is empty.

I may have reduce the time you can stay projected a bit too low but that's bc I expected ppl to say it was op.

  • I'm guessing you fear the juking possibilities but it would mainly be a weak deadhard on a giant cd. The idea would be to use too either leurre the killer away or go check what they are up to, essentially a risky premonition but more powerful. Also, I would add that it leave a husk behind if attacked you go back in and go down instantly.

Do note that I'm a killer main and don't think it would be OP.

  • Think what you want I still like my perk. Doesn't require to be a dick and actually leave you a chance.

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

    Just making sure <3

Whats the benefit of using this perk exactly? People aren't very likely to get off your shoulder so just making it easier feels like negative utility even with the deep wounds effect. Maybe just have the effect always proc when struggling off your shoulder or being unhooked outside your terror radius (even if it's someone else who does it) with no struggle drawback?

Also please have the description actually say deep wound status instead of mending status, cuz that's not the right name.

More bp ? You could use it to get survivors to the basement and make use of the perk Hook basement whilst also getting points towards chase a downing survivors.

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

shouldn't it be for 40/30/20 seconds?

The deep wound status ending means they are in the dying state.

You know what... you're definetly right. XD
