Leaks suggest Doctor changes, so Soon(TM)?

    Better be a buff tbh

  • They should for sure add comms for solo survivors as well, seeing as how there's no way to get rid of it for SWF teams. If everyone has comms then the information given out is to be expected and hopefully killers will be able to adapt to compensate, with a little help from the devs buffing the killers in some way.

  • Oh no you can't do that, it's too boring to do generators.

    -Every survivor main

It would be a great idea imo, makes genrushing a bit harder to do for the people who actually have experience in the game.

  • I feel like Trapper should maybe get traps over time, rather than just start with all of them since people think that would be OP. Trapper is all about setup and that takes an insane amount of time, because not only do you have to get to nice spots and place them but you also have to walk throughout the map to get more. Giving him all his traps to start out with would be an insanely good quality of life change and would make him much more viable at higher ranks I feel like. But since people don't like the idea of making a sub par killer actually good, maybe give him traps over time, starting with 2 or 3. He can set up a little bit, and as time goes on he'll get more traps to maybe use in a chase or to continue his setup later on possibly.

  • Yes cosmetics that have no actual effect on gameplay (besides maybe being more appealing to someone who would usually be a blendette) ruin this game, come on devs don't you know it's supposed to be pay to win? Smh

  • Sir I hate to break it to you, but um... That's a house.

  • Even if I played Ghostface like that I feel like there are better killers to tunnel as anyway so I don't really see a point to playing like that. And I've personally never had to go against a Ghostface that did this either

  • It might be explained in the last set of memories or whatever they are that you get from master challenges in the tome

  • I feel like it should work with Deliverance tbh and that Deliverance shouldn't make you broken

  • This used to be a thing you know, where you could use the same perk in all 4 perk slots (Or not in all 4 but in more than 1 in general) I watched someone with Unrelenting x4 and they moved faster by just swinging lol it was hilarious

Yes all the time, Yesterday i Got caught up watching a video on YouTube i forgot i was in que so when i remembered 4 gens were done 😂

    I feel that dude lmao

Gone AFK and completely forgotten I had started a game like 3 times. I remember one time I finally got my silent bell addon for Wraith and purple Windstorm so I started up a game, but I fell asleep before it started lol, was very depressing

  • -Devs change hardly anything about Nurse

-"Wayyyy too much wrong with her rn" as opposed to "Extremely OP pls nerf"

Does anyone else see the problem with this, that when people want change they eventually get change, but still complain?

  • "No, no, no. You're supposed to play the game like this"

  • I don't particularly like sandbagging my teammates but most of the time I don't feel too guilty because I'm usually the one getting things done while they're busy self caring at a pallet or something lol, so I don't usually run Bond

Right so they can quit, quitting and giving your team a bonus instead of just screwing them is strategy, a component of the game as it was designed. Slugging wasn't designed up front, it became a strategy to keep someone out of the hatch, payback is quitting so they still get it. Now you're on a timer to up your strategy and run everyone away from the hatch when you down them or hook them by the hatch.

Slugging was implemented into the game, otherwise you'd automatically pick up survivors when you downed them or there wouldn't be a 2 minute timer or however long it is for you to just leave them on the ground.

I'm surprised to see red ranks using self care

Probably only one key and they all escaped with it

  • Dude what? Didn't you know you have to let all the survivors escape? Idiot stupid rank 10

    They were just boosted tbh

  • @SolidSnake said:

Remember how it was when game just released? Darkness, tight, claustrophobic places with lots of corners to turn, or fields to be lost in, games that lasted really long because killer could not find the last remaining survivors... It was a great hide and seek expirience, where only infinites ruined the fun in games, but majority of survivors said that infinites should not be fixed, because "it's the only way to lose killer". Of course they were just bad at this game, bad at hiding and staying hidden, but they still wanted to win... Eventually majority of infinites were patched, but those bad survivors found another way.

And here we step into the new age of DbD, that does not deserve another way except "clown fiesta". When you see a survivor and a killer running circles around every single box, bench or other object in the world - it does not reminds you of a horror game, in fact only thing that's missing - is Benny Hill theme for things that happen in the screen to make perfect sense.

Survivors are not trying to hide anymore. They aren't scared. They know for sure that it's literally impossible to kill them all if they do not make mistakes, so instead they taunt the killer like a bullies, inviting them into the chase so they could show them their "mad skills" of running around the objects in circles.

Now a typical rank 1 game looks like this: killer finds survivor, they loop around the obstacle for 3-4 times, drop a pallet, break a pallet, proceed to another looping spot. When there is no more pallets left on the map - generators are usually done because it takes a way lot more time to "disarm" all the loop places than to repair all the gens. And even if killer will hook someone - survivors will instantly swarm that hook, and unhook the victim as soon as another of them will get hit, and then run away with borrowed time, or just instaheal and run away. If for some reasons the victim won't run far enough to make it to the gates (never happens, but still) - there is decicive strike, goodbye, have a great time! So let's say killer downed the same person again, thrid time - for that he need to tunnel really hard and ignore all the survivors who will bodyblock you, try to blind with flashlight or run around to make more red scratches... but let's say that for some miraculous reasons he did it, and did it faster than the gates are opened. Survivors instantly swarm the hook, surrounding the killers, asking him to hit them! And as soon as he does - they just unhook and run away with borrowed time, t-bagging at the escape gates. Turns out, the killer now plays the role of the victim, and the survivors are bullies who are not afraid at all and can do whatever they want.

And the developers encouraging this type of gameplay, making new, very open maps where it's hard to break line of sight a lose the killer, making game brigther and survivors having coloured suits that are easy to spot, so Claudette remains one of the few really viable characters for stealth gameplay. New perks do not discourage looping and encourage stealth, there is no changes to mehchanical side of the game, and the last nail of the coffin - are existance of the SWF mode.

Ability to play with comms makes game several times more easy for survivors and allows them to bypass lots of in-game mechanics. Actually, it's a legal way to cheat in this game. But people who run exploits or cheats do get punished, when swf premades who run comms - do not... Developers could easily either remove swf, or add voice chat to the game by default and then re-ballance it according to that change, but they perfer to close they eyes and pretent that problem do not exist. And survivors are happy. Remember how they protected the infinites? Well, just the same kind of people are cheating with swf now. They enjoy abusing this exploit, enjoy being way more powerful and gaining wins without putting any effort into that. And developers fully support them, giving a giant spit in the face to the all non-swf community of survivors and killers as well. Before de-piping was a good way to not have to deal with toxic swf premades, but now rank 18 killer can be constantly matched against full rank 8- swf premade for unknown reasons, so there is no way to escape them even after long and tedious (even game takes 15+ minutes to find) process of de-piping.

The game is a mess that screams for massive rework and drastic changes, but i quess as long as money coming from people who set up a giant hype about new killers who will be nerfed to trash tier soon after the release - nothing will ever change, amirite? I quess there is no hope of good old hide and seek gameplay to ever return to this game?

I mean, they are "Survivors" because they're surviving. You don't look at someone hiding behind a pile of tires or something scared for their life and think "That there is a real survivor", it just doesn't happen. Also keep in mind that canonically this makes sense as well, these survivors have been through these trials numerous amounts of times, they have seen these killers and what they do, all their different variants, etc. one hundred times over and then some. They know it's all just a "game" and that if they die this time, there's always next time, so they're obviously not going to be scared. If anything it gets boring after a while lol

  • Stealth is a way of life, not a clothes line

  • I played Wraith a day after the update and he most definitely had a lunge. Although I didn't have any addons or anything so maybe it is just a Windstorm bug.

Or do you mean the basement glitch update?

  • @Yamaoka said:

Since some people told me not to slug the 3rd survivor for the 4k I decided to just slug generally everytime I see a way to do so even at 5 gens to increase the fun. Might as well give people a real reason to be salty. If you can't outplay a slugging killer then you should probably not play at red/purple ranks.

ALL NAMES IN THE CLIP ARE CENSORED FOR OBVIOUS REASONS:

    https://youtu.be/vZeuwpYZuWc

Does anybody still feel like telling me how to play the game?

    Lol ez clap dude

I don't think they realized that being slugged does literally nothing to you or your rank in any way. It's much worse to get hooked because this just gives you less opportunities really and it's going to make people more cautious, especially after 2nd hook. But no slugging is evil when your teammates can just pick you up

Not like you can 99 your recovery on the ground and it just takes a second to pick you up lol

No clearly you have a reading issue. The devs put in a press start, press Y function to quit the game that becomes a DC that opens the hatch. You get no points and lose your item to give up the hatch. It is 100% a strategy that was put there by the devs into the console UI. Police did not create a gas pedal, auto manufacturers did along with their design team. The design team here is attempting to be the police and punish for a design they placed into the game. What other function is pressing start and pressing Y for to quit if not for to quit? 😂 😂 😂

They put in a quit match feature so people can quit the match, not for Hatch tech

Bruh, what is wrong with the killers?! The game was made for not every game to get a 4k because that's not enjoyable for the survivors. Yes a lot of killers do feel entitled to a 4k and will slug the last two survivors because they, for some reason, think the game is made for their enjoyment and no one else's. Is every killer brain dead or do you act like it for fun? Try genuinely looking through a survivors perspective and having a sweaty killer every round raging and sweating out their nuts trying to get a 4k since they don't have a life.

Not sure how it's "raging and sweating their nuts off" to hit someone and then leave them alone lol but alrighty then. What fun is the game if the killer isn't trying to kill you? I mean, even canonically the killer ideally wants to kill all of the survivors to please the entity as much as possible. People want to 4k because they want to rank up, and who doesn't want to rank up? Even still people just want to satisfy themselves, because they want the 4k. There's a small minority of people that play any game and strive for other peoples entertainment at the sacrifice of their own. I can guarantee that if there wasn't any incentive whatsoever to helping out other survivors in this game, most people would never be saved. But they are, because it gives you points and also makes the game easier to escape, which also gives you a lot of points. I just don't see why you're complaining about being given a second chance to get up.

Look at what happened to legion, he wasnt entirely strong just making the game boring and they made him absolute garbage

Doctor doesn't make the game boring though, at least to me

  • It should definitely exist, seeing as how the only other way to get away from the killer other than some sort of team play is wiggling off and that's pretty rare, and not all teams are as altruistic as we all want them to be. Whether it's balanced or not I can't really say for sure though. Personally I think it's in a better place than it has been in the past but it still just seems unrefined to me. There's a hard counter to DS which is just slugging someone for a minute. It should be in a position like most other perks, where there's no one surefire way to counter it or completely negate its effect, and it's always a gamble. That's what I think about it.

Every single game there's at least one guy freaking self caring in a corner, can't those guys understand that Self care is just a time waster??

You can run a med kit, not only can you get more charges out of it by wasting 20% less I think on healing yourself but if it doesn't have enough charges to heal you to full and you have no teammates around then there you go. But I agree it is kind of a time waster, especially without botany knowledge

  • Getting hit at a window when you're like 3 feet away from it is fine

A voice chat would come with its own issues.

I would prefer a quick chat based on keyboard commands, like I experienced in another (now dead) game.

Basically, it worked like this. You could open 1 of 3 sets of pre-made chat messages by pressing z,x, or c.

Then, from each menu you could choose a message by pressing a number 0-9.

When selected, your in-game character voiced the pre-made message and it could be heard by teammmates. It could be anything from "I'm doing objective X", "need help", "enemy spotted", etc.

It wasn't difficult to adapt and I was able to use it while doing anything else in-game.

How could this be implemented in DbD? Proximity or map-wide? Survivor-only or killer detectable? Opinions may vary. However, lore-wise we already have auras which are definitely otherwordly and not realistic. So, a map-wide survivor-only quick chat could be justified as a telepathic bond... wait for it... because Entity. I know, very original.

    Would be a nice idea

  • To get undeserved kills and move faster. Or for the challenge because tome promotes not playing regularly to get some of its challenges done.

    No. It works a treat.

Either they’re discouraged from healing entirely, staying 1 hit for the remainder of the game, or because of the long healing time there’s a greater probability one of the UP skill checks catch them off guard and gives away their position.

Better to catch out an injured survivor failing a healing skill check, than a healthy survivor stuffing up a gen skill check.

Well in that case if you wanna find healing survivors within your TR it's much better to just run Nurse's IMO, they don't even have to fail a skill check for you to see them

  • Kindred with full open handed team ez

I know right? I've been playing this game for over 3500 hours and was a 50/50 Rank1 player for most of the past 2 years and never would I have even THOUGHT about getting mad over slugging regardless the circumstances. At red ranks slugging is just the normal thing to do especially late/end-game so I didn't expect (a few) people to get mad/salty about that part of the thread.

Slugging is a potential EXTRA CHANCE to survive and there are easy 0% skill counter-perks like Unbreakable or Tenacity so I don't accept crying about slugging in any way whatsoever.

Totally agree man. There have been plenty of games where I've been picked up and at least gotten some more points if not escaped due to the killer slugging

  • How could you ban for using the basement bug? Sure it's annoying but what are they gonna say? "Hey guys don't hook people in the basement until we fix our game, we know it's very convenient at times and we know that you have challenges that have to do with the basement but just don't do it ok pls" I wish people that abused it could get some sort of punishment for it too but I don't think that's even an option. At best survivors that get basement hooked in a game should get the pip back that they lost (If they even depipped at all)

  • A not so strong killer being made weaker? Wonderful thank you BHVR

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/893630#Comment_893630

It was useless to begin with. And honestly, it had to be useless, because Pallets are the most important ressource Survivors have. A perk interacting with Pallets needs to be weak.

Yeah true, unless a killer is really stupid then you won't really be getting any jungle gym/shack pallets back because that'd just be kinda OP if you know how to run the killer around those sorts of things

  • Just save your power until you find a survivor or two and then get a quick down. Not sure if you know this but he doesn't lose all of his power when he picks up a survivor, so you can pick people up right away and still have the same progress on your wrath meter. It also really helps to level your characters up before you play as them. Get them some good perks like Ruin Pop BBQ or something. I bought him day 1 and waited until I leveled him up and found Ruin to play him (Only got 2 kills lol but not the point)

  • 3 seconds was already long enough for the killer to come out of stun and break the pallet so yeah I really don't see why they did this. Only real way to be able to lift a pallet back up during a chase is to blind the killer and even then they can still break it sooo this perk is basically useless the majority of the time imo.

  • @DetailedDetriment said:

That's right, Balanced Landing now needs a buff or rework.

With the recent release of the Cursed Legacy chapter, Balanced Landing was tweaked to no longer give the stagger reduction when exhausted. It also removed the noises made when falling and the grunt when landing.

The thing is that the nerf heavily outweighs the buff. Balanced Landing is now the worst exhaustion perk in the game and one of the worst perks in the entire survivor selection. The perk is straight up useless when exhausted, no longer providing a passive.

Now that the nerf is officially in place, the perk needs a buff or rework. What I'm thinking is that the perk should give the stagger reduction and remove the noises made when falling, but the exhaustion aspect of the perk should be completely removed. It is Balanced Landing after all, and only being able to balance your landing once every 40-60 seconds completely contradicts the name. The description of the perk literally says you have cat-like reflexes. Cats don't have a cooldown on stabilizing their landing. Just remove the exhaustion part of the perk and Balanced Landing will be a viable perk again.

Guess what other exhaustion perks had a passive? Literally none of them

I think i'll main doctor for a while, so does anyone have a good build on him?

Don't go into treatment mode right away imo, it can waste valuable information that can be used later in the game since madness 1 is the only time that you're usually going to make people tier up with just your static field alone. As far as ideal build, I'd probably say Ruin, BBQ, Haunted Grounds, and Whispers/Infectious Fright. This gives Doc slowdown with the Ruin, information with BBQ or Whispers/Infectious, and Haunted Grounds is just a very solid perk. If it activates when you already know where a survivor is, great. You can get an easy down and possibly find more people if you choose Infectious over Whispers. If you don't know where anyone is, you can switch to treatment mode (Whispers would help with knowing when to do this if you chose it over Infectious) and track down a survivor or two while they're still exposed.

  • Make survivors be exposed for 1 minute whenever they're shocked lul

  • People are really complaining about killers slugging now? What would you rather be completely dead and get no more points at all, or have a chance to be picked up by your teammate and continue playing the game, which is exactly the opportunity slugging gives? I don't understand it. If you would rather die than try to win then go ahead, complain about being slugged for the 4k

Also at higher ranks it's almost necessary to get the 4k in order to pip as killer so, not only are they giving you a chance to be picked up again but they're also just trying to pip themselves. But no I totally understand why people are mad about this.
