honestly, don’t even both bringing it at all. high ranks aren’t even affected by it since we can all hit greats anyway. better off running thanat.

Its not a counter, its a mitigation. A counter is overcoming the perk. Slugging means they can be picked up or get up themselves and doesn't give them a reduced hook health state. And I don't care what the devs had said currently, I'm not going to stop complaining about it. I'm not just going to accept things as the way they are. That leads to stagnation and tyranny.
and this is the same guy that probably got mad about the pig EGC nerf, spirit nerf, and nurse nerf.
lul.
-
just sLuG....
the devs aren’t going to nerf, they’ve said it already. it’s easy to counter.
-
i really think the dc punishments won’t do anything though. people will still suicide first hook if they just are t feeling it that round.
-
like 1.7 k hours here...
sometimes i try to get the most loops out of a certain pallet because i’m cheap with pallets and then realize my mistake and that i can’t do another loop because the killer is too close and then i get downed.
-
gen rush does exist, and i love it and will never stop doing it
mainly because i enjoy getting gens done fast. it makes me feel good, and accomplished.
i think if something in the game you do that you enjoy, just keep doing it, because it’s how you play

back a year ago me and my friend got tired of gta 5, and we found this amazing game that i wish we would’ve found sooner to be honest.
what a great game. i don’t think i’ll ever get tired of it.

oh no. please not another F13.
-
i always hit greats. after being in high ranks for so long, i just got used to the great skill checks, so ruin doesn’t/ never affects me or any of my SWF. we usually have 5 gens done in 8-10 mins. easy money.
honestly, killers who run it in high ranks just waste a perk slot on it.
-
the game is balanced, and neither survivor nor killer sided.
-
but you aren’t entitled to a 4k. change your builds, but if you don’t get 4k every round don’t be mad.

i love the darker maps. just make clothes brighter.

i agree. she’s really overplayed and every time i play against her i’m tempted to suicide on hook. i just don’t find it fun to go against her.

delete keys, and delete moris. no mori as basekit.
just delete both of them.

don’t listen to killers here. stealth is very viable if you’re good at chases as well. better to not get caught and waste the killer’s time then get caught and get into a chase early on.

May I ask you, what Perks did you run and how did the killer managed to down you before any gens are getting done?
it was a plague. i was NOT running decisive (stupid on my part, but i usually run it to prevent this, as i don’t have it on Yui yet), but i WAS running iron will, BT, dead hard, and breakout.
no gens got done because she had ruin and thanatophobia, and the sacrifice process goes fast compared to gen progress with these two perks (@AvisDeene)
the perks i was running has nothing to do with it though. nothing justifies being camped so early on. whatsoever. yes, i should have had decisive, but wanted to play Yui for breakout.

It funny how you ignore that no one did any gens.
You can go up to the hook, let the killer hit you, and during his animation lock you can unhook someone. You even can bait the hit by faking the unhook.
A coordinated team even can blind the killer and then unhook.
You either don't know these options or are ignoring them.
again, these options don’t always work. if it did work, the killer is probably a potato anyways. why would someone swap out their place with you on hook? regardless, it doesn’t help at all.
with the gens, if the killer hooks in close proximity to 3 gens, those gens don’t get done and one person is already dead because of camping. easy 4k if done right, but extremely unfair method.

There is nothing unethical to try to win within the games boundaries.
Does it suck for the survivor? Yes.
Does it have counterplay? Plenty.
5 gens up means, the survivor was found first and downed really fast. So he should pay more attention (Spine Chill?) or get better during Chases.
I would seek the blame with my other teammates. If I looped the killer, got downed and hooked and none of them got a single gen done...that's not good.
If they do whatever, don't push gens to lure the killer, swarm the hook for an entire minute and go for unsafe unhooks without BT, they are really to blame.
The killer in OPs story did read the state of the game well and played accordingly. He baited the hook and let the overaltruistic team play themselves. I would call that smart.
You are not entitled to a save unhook.
We are provided with plenty of options to increase the odds.
About the challenge, there are some challenges, that requires to sacrifice a certain number of survivors.
If that survivor happen to be the last sacrifice that killer needed, he just made sure to 100% get the challenge done.
Stop blaming the killer and start asking yourself, what options and tools are provided. What can you actively do to increase your fun and success in DBD.
Crying in the forum for a ban or nerf for camping is just immature, silly and ultimately pointless.
Does it suck? Yes, a lot actually. But it's 2 min tops. If you can't hold it for 2 min, you got other problems.
If you still struggle to understand why camping is in the game, try killer for a change and you will learn a lot about the game.
I wish you still the best of fun in the fog!
there isn’t counterplay in all cases, such as what @Desolate_Sands said. with ruin and thanatophobia, a good hook location and facecamping, a killer is guaranteed to win. he just needs to get 1 survivor out of the way and hook near several gens, and it’s 100% the killer wins. facecamping also makes BT useless since the killer can grab you off hook.
-
@Desolate_Sands said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/900888#Comment_900888
I disagree. Camping at 5 gens is one of the most powerful strategies a killer can employ, if the survivor goes down in a good location.
If you hook them in the middle of a 3 gen or next to your ruin, that's a perfect time to attempt it. They die and you still have a 3 gen to win the game with, or they die while the gens are still artificially pressured by ruin.
Trading 3 gens for 1 dead survivor is a good trade for the killer. Because from there, with good play, the killer can basically deadlock gen progress by having 1 survivor on the hook and 1 survivor in chase. The slowdown perks like pop can stall the game plenty as the third survivor has to save or do gens.
yes. with ruin, thanat, and good location of hooking, it’s a guaranteed win for the killer.
-
if this became real, it would be extremely situational, and not worth even running anymore. i think it’s a bad idea.

Body blocking doesn't restrict gameplay, facecamping does.
@ZtarShot exactly. facecamping ensures the game is ruined, especially early on. body blocking however does not.

If you read my post, you will see that I never insulted the op for their gameplay. I just called him out for whining like the other countless threads and complaints about camping. There was nothing constructive to his original post at all, it was just them complaining and telling the devs to fix it because he didn’t like it. Granted I could have phrased it differently, but I was annoyed from another post that I read and ended up replying that way here. I do apologize if I offended anyone, that wasn’t my intent.
People do need to stop complaining about something they don’t like without actually trying to look at things from the opposite perspective. It is tiring to see the same stupid complaints over and over, especially when they’ve been addressed multiple times, even by devs.
I wish there was a way to force players to play both roles. I think that would get the whining down to tolerable levels.
I just want to point out that I do agree that it sucks to be camped, but it’s only part of the game. I think I only face 2 campers out of every 10 matches I play, and I’ve been playing a lot recently. You just gotta move on and hope you’re not paired up with that killer any time soon.
it’s not whining, it’s pure frustration because i was punished for nothing.

Moris are awesome though. It's nice to see something different for a change instead of the usual hook death animation. Especially in a game where you hold M1 for 90% of it.

simple.

Doing a PTB solely for Kindred would be out of the question. I know it seems like a really simple thing to do, but making a PTB is a lot of work. Beyond that, nobody would play it. As is, only a fraction of the people playing the game will switch over and try the PTB, and that fraction tends to be even smaller when there's not a new chapter available. Add on the fact that there'd be no reason for killers to play it (it's only one survivor change) and you'd have yourself a pretty dead PTB. It also doesn't help that matchmaking doesn't consider ranks on a PTB, so getting an actual feel for it is next to impossible.
You can more or less test it on live, if you want. Get a full group together (preferably people you don't normally play with), have everyone toss on Kindred, don't use voice chat. That right there will give you the Kindred experience, and it'll be a more realistic representation than a PTB could ever be.
@Peanits, would it be in the question to consider kindred as base though, if it is favorable to the general majority?
Just wondering because i know some ideas are visionary while others are more favorable/realistic.

Alot of you sound like entitled killer mains, if you dont like the survivors start playing top tier killers and get over yourself.
I've been playing oni, ON CONSOLE at high ranks, and I DONT CAMP, yes I come back to the hook eventually but i make sure to proc my pop before i go back
Also saying dont get caught is still the dumbest thing I've EVER heard since day one of this game being released. You literally are full of yourself if you ever think not getting caught is a viable way of playing. If you're a killer main dont say anything about survivors, and this goes for survivor mains as well. Yes face camping sucks, and I personally believe survivors should be awarded bloodpoints and emblem for distraction because getting face camped by a LF especially is a lose lose to every survivor
thank you! somebody understands!

same. if it’s ebony i’m tempted to suicide first hook every time. at least with keys gens have to be progressed through. hooks and camping is easy.

Sorry Buddy, bad luck. Move on.
If a killer can get a survivor out of the game, within a minute and 5 gens still up? Bravo! Well done, now they are only 3 survivors some probably injured and 5 gens to go. Good win conditions.
If you are concerned with face camping run a combination or all of these perk: DS, Deliverance, Unbreakable, DH. Best don't get downed first. Successfully unhook someone else and you are good to go. Medkit can help too.
Good luck next time.
so you’re saying that it’s okay to completely ruin a game for SOLO survivors in such an unethical way? when the survivors did nothing wrong? and you’re supporting that?
wow.

It's only as effective as your teammates make it. The team aspect of survivor isn't always fun. That goes for any co-op mode in any game. Camping is absolutely legit in certain situations, but camping at 5 gens is only as viable as your teammates allow it to be.
but it’s completely useless for killers to camp at 5 gens. it’s like saying “yes, i only want 7,000 bloodpoints for the entire match”

Mori is not always a lose, because mori has a counter which is not getting downed and gen rushing. On the other hand, keys do not have a counter, since the hatch will spawn regardless, if the killer is losing or if the killer is winning.

I find it sad that people complain about camping and tunneling and want to punish killers by reducing their blood points to zero. Devs have even said that it’s a legitimate strategy. Heck, the perk insidious encourages camping.
If a survivor gets caught, they should get better at the game. They can work out a strategy in the chat before the match starts, or even invite each other to their Discord server. They could run perks that will help them avoid the killer, or even break free from the killer. They can even jump off the hook and have their teammates body block the killer so they could get away.
Heck, they could use the BEST STRATEGY against camping which is to just have their teammates power through generators and end the match while the killer is wasting time. Sure, one would die, but at least that way 3 will live and the killer would get minimal points.
Not everyone plays a top killer. Many of the killers are underpowered and need to be reworked or buffed in order to get a chance to do good.
Is camping a good strategy? No, it’s not, but all of the cons that come with it are punishment enough. Sometimes, killers don’t have an option to run around to look for survivors because they don’t have enough perks from other killers unlocked in order to track them. Maybe the killer isn’t “pro” enough to compete with the survivor so they resort to camping? Maybe the killer enjoys camping? Why should a killer care about how enjoyable the experience for the survivor is in the first place? It’s obvious that most survivors don’t care how much fun the killer is having.
Don’t be mad at the killer, be mad at your overly altruistic teammates for not rushing gens. Be mad at yourself for being caught, especially when the devs have put plenty of things into the game to help you avoid being seen, caught, or even help you escape.
Instead of telling other players to get good at a video game, you should get good yourself.
getting downed after a certain amount of time is unavoidable. it’s impossible, and looping can’t last forever. camping is a strat, but really? at 5 gens? 5 gens can’t even be completed by the time of one sacrifice, which leaves 2 survivors dead because of camping.
-
@Mak0 said:

No they have said so many times camping is a strategy a bad one but a strategy and wont ever be punished stop complaining and move on to the next game. P.S with your logic they should also make it so if you body block or camp a hook for a save you get 0 bloodpoints. And immediately sacraficed.
but one thing: body blocking doesn’t punish a particular survivor. you can just punish the body blocker and hook them instead of tunneling the one you originally hooked. this method works perfectly.
camping, on the other hand, ruins the game for a particular survivor, especially if it is so early in the game that 5 gens are still to be completed. by being facecamped, it insures you can’t play that round, a guaranteed depip, very low bloodpoints, and a general overall boring after status.
camping is justifiable in some cases, such as in endgame, or when a survivor disrespects a killer.

The problem with a lot of the challenges is that they don't take into account how games usually play out. Usually you don't have much spare time to focus on a challenge especially as killer so you end up being forced to throw the game.
This. ^^^^^

Just for clarification:
im not in a potato rank. i’m rank 1 (which is weird to have a killer camping everyone on hook)
-it’s not that i’m “bad” enough to not keep a chase. chases don’t last forever, and we can all agree on that.
-camping isn’t comparable at 5 gens to body blocking at all. it’s way too early in the game to camp, and there’s no reason to do so if i didn’t teabag or be mean to the killer.. right?
-camping at 5 gens is also not comparable to ruin getting blown up in 5 seconds, as this doesn’t not “ruin” the game for a good killer (no pun intended).
-
@AvisDeene said:
Oh look, another survivor only player complaining about camping because they weren't good enough to avoid the killer in the first place. Before you cry some more, how about you play both sides and try out killer for a bit. Once you experience 10 well coordinated groups you will be singing a new tune.
And for those asking for punishment, there already is one, your stupid teammates could keep pushing out the gens. The faster they complete the match, the less blood points and kills the killer gets.
Just because you don't like an aspect of the game doesn't make it wrong. It may not be fun for you, but not everything is supposed to be fun.
-Its not fun to be looped around the entire map and have 3 gens pop back to back
-Its not fun getting hit by pallets over and over
-Its not fun to get body blocked by three people while you're trying to hook someone
-Its not fun to be blinded by two or three people after you finish a long chase
-Its not fun for a killer to have to deal with borrowed time
-Its not fun for killers to get repeatedly flashlight clicked or t-bagged over and over
-Its not fun when a killer finally catches a tryhard and they DC because they can't handle getting hooked or killed
-its not fun for a killer to be doing a good job through out the whole match and the survivors escape with a key
-its not fun when survivors hide through out the whole match and barely try to do the gens because they're too scared to do the gens and don't want to get caught
-Its not fun when survivors dc because they don't like the map
-its not fun when survivors dc because they don't like the killer
-Its not fun when survivors suicide on hook because they're angry babies
-Its not fun when a swf on comms coordinate to repeatedly loop and locker stun the killer
-Its not fun when a killer is trying to hook someone only to find someone broke the hook
-its not fun for Trapper to find out his trap was broken
-Its not fun to play Plague because her power depends on the Survivors actions
-Its not fun to face a group of survivors that have 4 toolboxes and one or two brand new parts and power through all the gens in 5 minutes.
Stop crying like babies. You win some and you lose some. No matter what match you play, someone will end up not having fun. Just accept the death and move on to the next game.
The only thing I think the devs should do is to make sure that after you face a killer once, they shouldn't pair you up with them(or killer type) again until you are matched up with several different killers.
seriously?

it’s a reality that they are losing players left and right because of it though. there’s no ignoring that...

I suspect the challenge they're referring to is the one to sacrifice people during the EGC.
That said, many killers facecamp in the endgame, challenge or no. It's the best way to secure a kill at that point - and they're already punished for it by the ranking system. So yeah, it feels really crappy for the survivor, but it is a legit strategy.
wasn’t endgame. it was at 5 gens.
