If you don't understand how old dead hard could change a game's outcome more than thana then you're either having a bad faith argument, or you just do not understand how much damage you could do with old dead hard. Like I suck at the game and i've single handedly gotten entire map pressure resets with a single keystroke.

As killer do you have any idea how many times I just waited a half a sec to counter the old DH? I literally played to it against every survivor and watched them miss everytime.. the only time the old DH made a huge "play" was a DH over a trap.. or to get the distance on a loop to extend beyond a pallet.. DH off hook with BT even wasn't that great because it hardly worked. DH only greatness came from killers who were too impatient to swing...

gotta love it when survivors make that kind of assumption without ever having actually played killer to get any perspective. Or when killers assume that because its the only way someone could have that opinion. its almost like theres a meme on the board about it, something about.... them? and i think us?

are you saying I'm not a RR killer? lol been there done that.. I dont need dirty tricks or perk build clutches.. I am unlike most killers.. I actually respect the score for the feeling of victory/validation.. I don't need a 4k every match to feel whole.. esp when I outscore the entire team with even a 4E..

  • @Cramps said:

"Being the killer is supposed to be challenging because its 4v1" - you think that killer should be challenging because they're outnumbered by 4:1?

You don't see that you have this backwards??

"you are escaping because MMR has been shut off and there's a flood of new killers"

MMR has not been shut off at all.

Dredge who literally is the most OP killer next to artist

    Dredge? OP? Really?

"you're aware MMR was killswitched after 6.1 right?"

Again, no, MMR was not killswitched. BP incentives were.

did you really just snipe one of my discussions to find anything i've said to talk smack over? personal attack much? Anyone who doesn't think massive map control/counter looping plus having the ability to see clear as day in darkness isn't OP doesn't realize how easy they counter loops/stealth.. and if MMR wasn't killswitched then call me an a biscuit and butter me silly because I have been thrown into the most random match-ups as a survivor to date. maybe the massive amount of killers in lobbies have completely destroyed the MMR system because i'm telling you... MMR is basically trashed and has been. Just admit it cramps you're gung-ho for the killer-role there's really no need to jump to another discussion just to bad-mouth every line i've posted because youre upset with the thanat nerf that was really necessary.

You might be shocked to learn that there are quite a few survivors out there who can beat clown on coldwind with those perks, and could in fact do so before three of them were nerfed

I never said survivors couldn't beat it.. I said you gotta love it when the killers themselves admit to needing to downplay their own builds to get decent exchanges...

  • @Cramps said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3109557#Comment_3109557

So what? 100% of players could use the same perk, that doesn't constitute "abuse" of a perk. Let's not pretend that your 80-90% number is an actual statistic either, rather a number you're just pulling out of thin air.

Virtually every killer went against Dead Hard, having it extend chases every single match for several years. Was that "abusing" Dead Hard or simply using a valuable perk that aided gameplay and helped survivors complete objectives as a team?

In one of your posts, you mention that Lethal Pursuer's extra 2 seconds of aura reading is also "easily abused". I think you overuse and incorrectly use the word "abuse".

post sniping doesn't make your argument any stronger... The perk was abused because it was too powerful.. even the old DH was easily countered by simply "waiting it out" and it didnt change the entire tide of the game as much as Thanat did. Too many killers were/are running the same drawn out loadout with Thanat being almost centerpiece. Survivors running the same "free to play" perks is not the same as abusing a perk in frequency when the "free to play" perks are strong.. I mean since when was unrelenting or monsterous op? There's a major difference and not to mention.. DH was nerfed so your arguement using DH is moot.

  • gotta love it when killers openly admit that they have to "play down" the killers role.. clearly the basekit is op af if soo many killers need to down play.

  • it's the killers lobby and they have garbage internet soo all the survivors got crap ping obvs

  • do you understand that as a survivor I literally went against thanat 80-90% of my matches? using a perk vs. overkilling the use of a perk... it's not even a major drawback for killers.. killer still have numerous advantages still since 6.1 it's the simple fact that Thanat was indeed brokenly too strong esp when stacked with other slow-downs.. anyone who thinks otherwise was obviously part of the 80-90% that was abusing the living crap out of it.

  • EVERY MATCH was basically a Thanat match... MAYBE if killers didnt hardcore abuse it.. it wouldnt have deserved a nerf.. but EVERY killer practically abused this soo bye bye... And i'm not gunna shed a single tear.. the nerf was needed.

  • yet another day with ZERO response from Behaviour... proving further more... Behaviour Doesn't care..

Hard truth: 4K is only "basekit" against low level teams. This was true pre-patch, and is only slightly less true now.

People out there getting 4K rolled match after match by low-mid tier killers are playing at or near the bottom of the MMR barrel. Sucks if you're solo stuck in mmr hell, but that's still what it is. Feels better to blame it on killer being OP, though.

Conversely, if you're stomping team after team with, say, Legion, you're not going up against good survivors.

you're aware MMR was killswitched after 6.1 right?

  • not enough changes in the 6.1.2 and buffing the wrong perks.

  • the added 2 seconds for other perks is def easily abused...

  • @Juicyman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3102759#Comment_3102759

Not quite. The killer has 4 chances to increase their MMR in a match, meaning if you get 1K you get one increase and three decreases. The amount you can get per survivor isn't the same however, the higher difference in MMR between you and the survivor the more MMR you get. This means that even on a 2K you aren't guaranteed an increase of MMR. 3K+ is, as far as I'm aware, the only thing considered a 100% win. In a 1K you "win" against a single survivor, but you don't win against the team.

but with a 1k you can still outscore every survivor... yup totally "balanced"

  • seriously its nearly 200 mill thats no joke of a loss.. been over 2 weeks still no response

Well then just be out and stop saying it on every thread, there are bugs to fix that affect the whole player base, while your situation affects you, its pretty selfish to put yourself above everyone else, and to have such an entitled attitude about it.

As a person who has worked in customer service if you used the tone i see in your forumn posts, when filing your ticket with support, you definitely would have ended up at the bottom of my work pile.

Just food for thought, have a nice weekend.

trust me I wouldn't be on this thread if Behaviour actually cared about their players...

Youll either get some BP in compensation, or your progress back

right now it's well over 200 million bps worth... soo shroompy I hope to God you're right cuz right now its been almost two weeks... and i've gotten nothing and I don't expect it.. i'm at the point where i'm just gunna flat out quit this broken game

Lol footsteps didn't make noise over half the time, they were constantly bugged and all those other sounds don't even apply to chases. Iron Will was broken

How do blood and scratch marks not apply? and just because footsteps or anything you said were "buggy" that doesn't justify the nerf. It really doesn't. The reason they nerf'd it was entirely to make the game more killer-sided.. That is the only reason because apparently the many MANY other ways to track survivors weren't good enough.

  • iron will literally shouldve been left alone.. there was nothing wrong with it before-hand. There are many MANY other ways to track survivors and Nerfing Iron will was the literally the worst possible nerf to make.. literally rendering it almost useless...

  • @Nicholas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3102889#Comment_3102889

It needed a nerf, it was way too strong. It's the only way killers can track you! Without grunts of pain, survivors vanish. It was really unfair and one-sided.

so blood and scratch marks and footsteps totems opening boxes lockers and breathing from running and perks that reveal survivors locations are completely irrelevant ways to track survivors because they have iron will.... and its the only way killers can track survivors

  • use iron will.... oh wait... they nerf'd that too... like it really really needed a nerf because apparently its "broken" smfh

All you're looking at is the perk icons on each characters page. Which is evident by the fact that you're talking about them 'being locked'. These are not your teachables, these are your prestige unlocks. You still have your teachables.

    Show me your bloodwebs.

Show me how they have no perks on them.

explain to me how a P1 feng now has zero prestige? can you? no.. you talk about the crap perks I unlocked the web but not the fact that all of Fengs perks are now locked for other characters at even yellow lvl.. I have lost millions of Bps worth of prestige.. there's nothing to explain other then behaviour doesn't care.. because they are too focused on putting sexuality and dating into the game that they clearly don't care about players who've been robbed because their prestige system automatically signed everyone up to have to grind out thousands more matches.. and who cares if some of us got all our crap vaporized.

  • Nobody cares... ######### on hook and let your teammates get hatch.. thats the new meta apparently.

  • @Seraphor said:

You've explained this before, and I've explained how you're wrong.

You haven't lost your teachables. They will still show up in the bloodwebs of your characters. You are in exactly the same position you were in before the patch, nothing has been lost.

You refuse to understand how this works.

    Your loss.

No I completely understand what i've lost. You keep telling me what I "didn't lose" but are you looking at my account? Do you see what I see? no you only assume I didn't "lose anything" when i've been completely and utterly robbed.. So stop telling me I haven't because I really dont need to have another moderator "warn me" for calling you insane... I know for a fact... I've been utterly RIPPED OFF.. don't push it by saying I haven't because I know I have and its really disrespectful to harasss me and tell me that "I don't understand" or "i'm entitled" because I know for a fact I've been completely robbed and Behaviour doesn't care.

There is no 'correct way' to play killer. Defending gens is only one strategy, going all in on survivor pressure can have the same effect, if they're constantly unhooking and healing they're not repairing generators.

It's an absolute fallacy that you need to run slowdown perks, especially on a high mobility killer like Dredge. Some weaker killers sure, they need slowdown, but an effective power, Nurse, Blight, Freddy, even Trapper and Hag if they secure a decent web of traps.

Thats right so that means your strat of running them down shouldnt work everytime either.

I mean I think it was benevolent of him to ease up on the survivors when he saw them struggling. He pretty much allowed them to escape in two different matches. Yes, we know—he could have very likely 4K’d in both of those matches. But he didn’t. And that BHVR has readjusted killers to perform more efficiently doesn’t mean players who are at least kind to others should be attacked or ridiculed. OP can’t do anything about the changes made to killer. What he can do is try to at least make the experience a little less unfun for the survivors he faces—and that is exactly what he did. I know you’re upset by this patch, but your anger is misdirected here.

I have respect for killers who play to win. I don't want their pity... and when i'm the killer.. I won't give any pity... because its a cake walk to get a 4k and its only fair to play they game as intended and not to downplay the game so that ppl's "feelings aren't hurt" that i'm OP. sorry not sorry I hook em all and run with all the OP BP gains too

  • @GrimoireWeiss said:

Yes, same way survivors should have to play near perfectly to get 4 escapes.

exactly that I can agree with.. If im playing survivor and my teammate sucks I shouldn't have to suffer at the very least break even with a 2k-2out..

  • @Alcuin said:

You're also not playing to win. Survivors escape when I play Deathslinger with STBFL, Nurse's, M&A, and Mad Grit. If I wanted to win, I'd stack slowdown and tunnel and camp like the killers I face in solo queue. Killer has to nerf him/herself in order to allow for a back-and-forth with the survivors.

right he has to downplay killer in order to get a fair and "generous" back and forth... smh

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/338117/should-killers-have-to-play-a-near-perfect-game-to-get-a-4k

Killer mains just need to stop thinking that a win is only getting 4k. According to the way MMR works the killer is playing 4 different games so each player they hook and sacrifice is a win. So really only killing one survivor should be considered a win for the killer, that's how the game sees it.

I agree full heartedly too often does it "feel like a loss" when they literally outscore everyone even with 1k

  • lol Teabagging Ghostface.. can I ask you something? have you ever pretended to be friendly and then just killed everyone after they all pulled up on you?

  • @ChiSoxFan11 said:

And people -- myself included -- have said that they don't need to be "near perfect", anymore than survivors should have to play "near-perfect" to escape. I also referenced how much easier it was (and frankly still is, though not as much as before) to make multiple mistakes as a survivor and still end up escaping, or even 4-outing your opponent. Since you said that many responses in this thread, presumably ones that don't mirror your own are, "... a bunch of killer mains defending the new update as of right now", then that seems to speak to your not wanting an actual discussion where people might disagree with you, but an affirmation of your position.

Does my disagreement with some of what you've stated make me a "killer main" who never plays survivor then?

I said it sounds like a bunch of killer mains are defending the new update. not everyone is a killer main who doesnt agree with me. I never said that, so dont say that I did because I didn't...

I did however say that survivors are dependant on others as a means of survival.. and that being said there should be more leeway in the mistake department as 1 survivor can easily destroy the game for all survivors. and that it is in fact balanced as such because survivors are in fact weaker.

  • @ChiSoxFan11 said:

Your crediblity gets tossed away when you start calling anyone who disagrees with you a "killer main".

It's clear your initial question was a loaded one -- you already had a preconceived answer to your question in mind, asked said question to get reinforcement of your opinion, and no matter what anyone says in response, whether it's well-reasoned or not, you're probably going to ignore it and label them instead, since their opinion or experience doesn't match what YOU think the correct answer should be.

That's not looking for a healthy discussion, but affirmation. There's a big difference there. One is constructive, the other is making noise for the sake of noise.

Because I think a killer should have to play a near perfect game.. I literally said I thought they should even in my initial statement which was between me and my friend who's a killer main. asking to discuss it doesnt mean i dont hold my own opinion.

  • @Seraphor said:

Should a survivor have to play a 'perfect game' to escape?

And I disagree that killers have it so easy. I've just had three Dredge games in a row (usually do well as Dredge) which were all 0K's, gens flying like mad (10 extra seconds does nothing) loop after pallet after loop after pallet (0.3s off attack cooldowns doesn't stop a survivor reach the next loop), Dead Hards that do still exist (extra health states on top of basekit BT)

Even camping (once the exits were open and I wanted my obsession kill for my challenge) which is supposed to be this OP, uncounterable, toxic behaviour, was easily countered by one healthy survivor who faked a hook grab (lol 50/50 RNG so broken, killers get easy free wins when they camp lolololol) and secured the save at end game.

This patch is not some overly killer sided broken mess, it's basically the same as it was before. The only difference is all the low skilled solo survivors giving up and having a tantrum because they refuse to adapt.

so you openly admit to face camping and trying to grab directly off the hook. with Dredge who literally is the most OP killer next to artist.. but say nothing about what build you were running.. and what mistakes you made.. it sounds like you committed to chase too hard and completely ignored defending objectives with a killer who can literally map control better than any killer... And it's every survivors fault that you make mistakes? I mean if you can't even camp that really says alot about your skill level.. because I watched my 8 yr old nephew face camp a 4k last night lmao.

So 90% of people you know? Which is probably what? Like 10? Yeah see, that's quite a far ways away from like 50,000 people

1 thing I know forsure is that killer lobbies are long long.. survivor lobbies are instant.. soo much so they even tried to implement a reward to play survivor role as an incentive... soo i'm sure a vast majority of survivors are quitting....

  • @PaintedDeath said:

Lol, "But I set my item down!" They scream as I carry them to the hook.

my point isnt about the killer being "required" to show any respect.. it's the fact that the lack of respect has almost vanished after this update... And as far as i'm concerned.. when i'm a survivor... "I don't want your pity"..

But the respect has almost vanished and it goes to show that many killers are clearly taking advantage of the update being 100% in their favor with little to no respect. T-bags aside

  • As a survivor it's near impossible to overcome when just 1 survivor DC's early or dies from early mistakes/stupidity... The survivors role is almost imperative on the help of other survivors.. So The strength of the survivor comes from the strength of the group as a whole. Not only are they weaker but they depend on each other as a means of "winning". If 1 survivor outmatches a killer that shouldn't mean that every survivor deserves a nerf.. The killer made a poor choice on which survivor to target. I've had numerous matches where survivors try to goat me into chases and i've ignored them and done perfectly well because I focused on my objectives instead of letting my emotions get the better of me and rage on a single chase. If you ask me many killers don't consider this and are victimized by certain survivors because they continue to commit to a chase they should've otherwise abandoned and take no accountability for their own error. That being said OFC certain things for survivors are OP esp the new "off the record" rework.. which in my opinion is trash.

  • It sounds like a bunch of killer mains defending the new update as of right now. Being the killer is supposed to be challenging because its 4v1.. That being said being face camped or tunneled isn't very "fun" but tends to be a common strat.. and as many of you have mentioned it's common to getting a 4k. I think everyone can agree the hatch being held hostage by a slugged survivor is 100% in favor of the killer so the argument that hatch is survivor sided is moot. And it's not wrong to play respectfully.. after the most recent patch thou i've seen almost zero pity hatches and killers slapping survivors who "set the item down" as an offering.. I feel like this update has really taken the "respect" out of the game.. The fact that MMR has basically been shut off is also a major factor that most people aren't considering.. Killers who can't even lunge properly are supposed to lose because its a basic function as killer and should be known how to do. Lately i've seen many killers with a single yellow perk holding their own against red rank SWF's because the base kit for killers is really that OP. I'm not saying that playing killer is or wasn't difficult but it is wrong to expect them to play near perfect in order to get a 4k against high MMR survivors? I really think that's the major issue.. Every killer feels like they "lost" with just a 2k or 1k and everyone 2nd state.. and in all honesty the killers get fantastic scores even when they 2nd everyone and the survivors escape.. It's that sense of "I won" that isnt there when they get DS'd at an exit gate even if they literally outscore everyone... If you ask me I think a killer should have to play a near perfect game to beat a high MMR group of survivors and its not asking too much.. The trophies and high value "rewards" of a 4k should be a difficult thing to obtain otherwise what good is the claim to being a "good killer" if all you do is resort to dirty strats and poor sportsmanship? It's 4v1 You should always expect a challenge and it's not a reach to say that a near perfect game should be part of that.

  • @DbDCasual said:

My counter is why should survivor be "fun," but killer be "challenging"? Why can't both be fun? The primary problem with this game is people take it too seriously. Even post-patch (which might have been killer sided but was that a bad thing? I don't think so), I escape around 60% of the time. Close to 2 out of every three matches. It might be even higher if my teammates stopped letting themselves die on the first hook. And to be clear, I do not play even near perfect. I suck at looping. If a killer finds me, they will down me pretty quickly. Even so, I play with no stress and a decent escape percentage. I don't know why so many seek to deny the same for killers.

you are escaping because MMR has been shut off and there's a flood of new killers

Lol I have contacted support... I got the "we'll look into it" msg about a week ago.. still nothing... So Now i'm here! ;)

  • I hate it and I love it.. As a Quin MAIN I have used it ALOT.. That being said it's terrible that you have to be injured for it to proc. That's the absolute dumbest nerf idea ever. BUT It's repeatable.. The way I have worked around it is i'll leave a chest at 99% open progress until injured then come along and open it for a green med. But let's be honest.. This Nerf is terrible.. and again one of many to make the game even more killer-sided.

  • Thanat literally is broken... Almost every match that starts with Thanat ends in a 4k.. let's be honest the amount of low MMR killers has skyrocketed... Even So High MMR survivors have lost matches against Low MMR killers who flat out suck... simply because perks like Thanat literally carry... They've made it soo much easier to get 4k's its insane.. I personally have yet to NOT get a 4k with a Thanat/Save the Best combo.... It's 100% a massively broken update..
