Dead hard should have some start up time and then give you endurance. Just so that if i'm right on a survivor and i don't see the animation i can swing and know it will hit. I don't really care that it works well around pallets, i just don't want to wait everytime i catch a survivor in a dead zone
Killers being able to see hookstates please, the amount of times i have a game where one person disconnects and i want to put everyone on dead hook before sacrificing them to atleast have some semblence of fairness only to fail cause i have the memory of a goldfish
MoM reverted to giving regular endurance for only 2 protection hits again. unpopular oppinion but it was way better that way
Beast of Prey make it so bloodlust last 10 seconds longer out of chase so you can use it to leave a chase and ambush people
Autodidact should give a token if you finish a heal without getting a skillcheck.
Bite the bullet should activate if someone is healing you too
Calm spirit remove the action speed penalty, what the heck
Technitian remove the added penalty for failing a skill check, what the heck
Diversion grants 1 bp for hitting the killer with the rock

With how Legions BFF addon gets stacks you would think this addon and others like it would also have a stack system to remind you how far you are from activating it

This is untrue. Basically, Sony's policy is, as long as the achievement is still technically achievable, it cannot be changed. However if it becomes changed such that it is no longer achievable, then it can be changed.
aah okay, that's fair. Thanks for correcting me.
-
Not really, i had some pleasant convertations with some but i'm not really the type of person who sends friendrequest to people who i have played once with.
And for some reason these forums have kinda become my negative outlet which makes me a lot meaner then i am so making friends here is very unlikely too
-
You're going to have to complain to sony about that one.
They are the ones who are sticklers to changing anything related to achievements.
I guaranty you that the only reason it took so long to make the hatch only spawnable for one survivor because of that one achievement that asked for all survivors to jump through the hatch and Sony making it as difficult as possible to change it

See, that's just crazy to me. I think a lot of people here are just effected by recency bias.
You can pretty much pull any competitive multiplayer game out of your library, and you are guaranteed to NEVER get interactions like "ggs <3," "yeah that map with that killer is really hard, good luck next game", "you're so funny/cute, I'm glad we got to play together."
Hop on Ark, Rust, League of Legends, SMITE, DOTA, R6: Siege, Halo, Overwatch, hell even TF2 or L4D2 and you will be bombarded by screaming maniacs and toxic tryhards that are losing their mind over every little thing that goes wrong.
DbD is really chill compared to, like, every other competitive game out there. Are there bad experiences in DbD? Yeah, for sure. But it's so rare that I get maybe one toxic gamer every like, what, 20 games? 50 games?
The toxicity problem is blown completely out of proportion, because we're all forgetting just how horrible it is outside of sunshine land.
I think you're just incredibly lucky so far
I've played LoL in the past too and while there are a lot of screaming maniacs there one push of the mute button fixes everything
Never in playing that game have i been DDoS'd, never has someone go out of their way to leave nasty messages on my profile, never has somebody told me to off myself.
DbD has become slightly better so if you're a newer player you might not have noticed much of it but it was waaaay worse then LoL before

I mean it is feedback cause the game is #########, community is toxic AF, and one day the game will die <3
Community is toxic as heck i'll give you that. That's why you need to stop hanging around it when you don't play the game anymore. It just sours the memory of the game
Game being bad is subjective
Everything and everyone will die one day

Why use them if they are so easy to dodge?
Mostly points tbh
I like when survivors bring flashlights, I've had way more games that i snowballed into victory by slugging the person i downed and going for the would-be resquer then i've had people escape from a blind
And that's including when i first started and got flashlight saved 7 times sometimes.
Chasing another survivor straight after downing one is one of the strongest things killers can do and flashlight users really enable that
If you really hate flashlight savers pick up infectious fright and start chasing them if they are near when you down somebody and see how quickly you can snowball out of control sometimes

It's nice that you atleast let it known in advance that you aren't going to listen to advice

This game is supposedly balanced around chases lasting 45 seconds. If that is the case, then the survivors should win 100% of the time because the math for that doesn't add up. It does once the first survivor is on the hook.
Survivors need to repair 5x 90 seconds of gens, or a total of 450 seconds. If a chase lasts 45 seconds, let's imagine the current scenario.
1st chase starts at the same time the other 3 survivors are on gens. 1st chase lasts 45 seconds. It takes the killer 2.7 seconds to deal with the hit cooldown, and 3 seconds to pick the survivor up, then another ~8 seconds to walk the survivor to the hook, and another 1.5 to hook them. This means each "chase" and down, and hook takes a total of: 45 + 2.7 + 3 + 8 + 1.5 = 60.2 seconds.
Survivors now have done 60.2 x 3 - 180.6 seconds of progress. Meaning they have 450 - 180.6 = 269.4 seconds of progress. Now, a survivor is on the hook. So in theory, there should be, 1 survivor on the hook, 1 going for the save, 1 getting chased, and another on generators. If a chase lasts 45 seconds, generally a save and a heal is going to take about that long. So you'll have 1 survivor on a generator for 45 seconds, and 3 survivors on generators for 15.2 seconds each. This amounts to a total of 90.6 seconds of progress per chase and hook. This means the kill gets ~3 more hooks from the initial chase, meaning they get 4 hooks.
Now you see how the math doesn't add up anymore.
If you look at it purely theoretically no it doesn't add up.
If there is one thing i learned though, it's that theory and practise very rarely if ever actually match up.
How long does a chase last against a survivor you caught at a hook and traded?
What if you spread injuries? Even with Coh it takes time away from time that could be spend on that 450 seconds gen requirement. That 450 seconds also ramps up quite a bit when you look at it with perks in mind. PR alone adds 13.5 seconds for close to every hook if rng favors you.
What if you don't go through the hooking step and slug for pressure? I rarely hook my first down, only if there is absolutly nobody around would i do that. Especially early game it's a very effecient strategy to get survivors of gens early.
The thing is that DbD is way to varried and influenced by RNG to really put it to numbers like that. Have bad RNG and some killers can't even dream of 45 second chases, same map other rng could mean chases are well below 45 seconds.
There is also the same issue i brought up earlier. The numbers in this game aren't linear. A killers chase at the start of the game will be longer then a killers chase at the midpoint cause of resources being used. a survivor who hasn't healed will also have a lot shorter of a chase. You can't really put a single number to that. an average maybe but that's about it.
DbD has always been a game of scales and momentum. It starts favoring the survivors but slowly over the course of the game starts going to the killer untill it reaches a tipping point. Which is very hard to come back from. Most people who have trouble with this game is cause they can't get to that tipping point. Which to be fair against optimal survivors is really hard.
-
If you are going to take a break from a game then you need to put it out of your mind completely
All you are doing is focussing on the negativity without allowing yourself to experience the good things this game has to offer too
I will never understand people who do that. It always looks like they are so desperate to validate their reason for leaving.
It is okay to just say, okay this game isn't for me anymore. And just move on. A game doesn't need to suck for you to leave it.
Leaving feedback and then saying you haven't played for months kinda invalidates everything you said.
This isn't your feedback but someone elses you are just parroting
-
I probably will, the perks look fun and i've been wanting a info based killer for quite a while

Killer are not expecting to miss half their shots and win. the problem is hitting 80 to near 100% perfect shots and getting a result that is 0-2 kills. The equivalency for survivor is looping every tile perfectly and 3 survivors dying from killer successfully hitting a survivor 3 times the entire match.
DbD can be very subtle in it's mistakes
You telling me you hit 80%-100% perfect shots and getting zero kills is telling me you don't recognise failed shots

When you get someone tunneled out fast it's of course always the most effective. But it is insane how many killer i see which are the opinion it is always smart to tunnel the first person out which you downed fast. Just because this person kissed the floor really quick that doesn't mean that this survivor is not good. You have to realise how the down happened. Maybe this surv simply had no real chance at this spot. I have a lot of games where killer downed someone fast and after it they lost the last gen because this killer drived crazy and don't wanted to stop. and he chased on a place where no gens were to protect. I mean nurse and blight is a complete different thing but in general you should not tunnel always.
Yeah, hardcore tunneling is a all or nothing strat
I'm pretty sure the mayority of genrush complaints are from people who tried to tunnel the wrong person at the wrong place and gave the other 3 free reign of the gens

Saying that it would be nice if survivors weren't able to complete 2/5 of their objective in the span that you complete 1/12 of yours is "wacky"? Saying that camping is unfun to deal with and should be addressed is wacky? Saying that tunneling is unfun to deal with and should be addressed is wacky? Responding to the OP and saying that 3-genning is unfun to deal with and should be addressed is wacky?
I think your response is wacky, but ok.
It is pretty wacky yo compare objectives in a asymetric game
Survivors objective is easier at the start and gets more difficult as the match progresses, and the opposite for killers
Survivors need to do 100% of their objectives to have more then one person escape, if the survivors make enough mistakes and get downed at the same time the killer can get a 4k with as little as 33% of the normal required hooks
If the killer doesn't spread his hooks to much then the game is usually lost by hook 6 or 7 when 2 survivors are dead
Putting the 2 side by side doesn't work. Survivors objective starts hard and then falters, killers objective can snowball very suddenly, they are not the same

I wouldn't say it's pointless
One of the strongest things a killer can do is chasing and downing a survivor while another one is on the floor. This perk enables that
Ofcourse if you are survivors good pet and pick up every down you get so they get time to regroup then yes, it doesn't do much
But if you are a killer that isn't afraid to go for the snowball when it presents itself this perk is decent
Not as good as 40 seconds gentime saved per activation ofcourse but nothing should be that good

They did the same to mettle of man. Remember when it was nerfed to where it would shut off after doing anything? They quickly reverted the change after.
Unpopular oppinion but that honestly was a buff, they also made it only take 2 protection hits instead of 3
You could take 1 protection hit, heal up and then take 2 protection hits in a row for a tunneled survivor.
Or you could take 3 hits for somebody getting carried to a hook almost insuring they get off
It was actually a pretty decent anti-tunnel perk during that time
Sadly this community is dense and everybodies instinct to getting a free healthstate is to run away from another survivor that is injured and being chased instead of protecting them.
Instead of giving people the chance of finding out how to use the new MoM they cried to have it reverted to the F-tier nobody uses it sad state it is now.

Play with your food
That 5% movement speed does a lot more then people think and especially with killers like Legion who can easilly find the obsession it's really fun
Also fun with knight as it stacks with his speed boost from making long patrols

Hi members of the fog
We noticed some people are not a fan of the new chapter so hereby we want to make a official statement that we are terribly sorry you don't like it.
As always we will be monitoring every killer that releases, we are digging through the feedback right now but it might take a while before we get through all the "girls have cooties, robots are cooler" comments.
Happy hunting in the fog!

I still believe that if 2 players hitboxes collide for 15 seconds they should lose collision for a short time.
15 seconds is more then enough to get any use out of your power and it will stop holding someone stuck for extended periods of time

I hope you find another game to enjoy and invest your time in.
If i can offer some advice, if you quit playing the game then it's very reccomended you put it out of your mind completely.
Don't visit this forum, don't watch videos, don't look it up, etc...
Trust me, keeping engaged with this toxic community without playing the game will make everytime you return to it a nightmare
Stepping away from the community gives you a chance to love the game again without your mind having been poisoned if you ever decide to pick it back up.
It will also make it easier to shrug off if somebody decides to be mean in your returning games
The responses you got here should be a clear sign i have a point
-
Sounds like it could be a ping issue. Where on your screen your at the pallet but the servers haven't got that info yet and think you're still in front of it
Other then that i do know pallets respond much smoother if you stop running. Releasing the sprint button and then press space

Well bud, I'm speaking from the POV of a Ghostface main, #4 in the world for exposed downs and #5 for marked downs (dbd.tricky.lol) I have a lot of experience at this point, so I feel like I actually have got a pretty good idea about what's up when I start talking about this weird game.
And yeah,
3 out of 5 is, in fact 60% and no, it doesn't really slowdown very much after that point (especially if they save items for the last 2 gens)
1 out of 12 is, in fact 8.3% and the survivors can/will finish well before you can hook anybody to death.
And at my apparent MMR level, 4-5 minute games are an unfortunate reality.
You're lucky if you can get 3 hooks before everything is over.
You are not going to create an effective dead zone in time, it's over too fast.
You are not going to stop the progression unless there is a tight 3-gen or you can achieve lucky, strategic slugs with knockout and melt gens in the meantime with COB/Overcharge.
If you commit to chases, you typically lose unless the survivor catches their big toe on a corner or dedicated servers decide to express themselves.
You'll mindgame into dead hard all the time because you can only hold W and M1 and the survivor will be too far to wait it out before the pallet drop. A single instance of this can create enough time for you to lose.
I stopped using eruption over a month and a half ago because the trigger kept getting countered by 'dead hard @ pallet' and it would lose the game for me.
Unless the system can't find suitable people for me and I get stuck with lower level folks, the string of events in a typical match is a short list indeed before everybody is slugged or all gens are gone.
Most of my matches are either very frustrating to lose (because of the gen speed/DH nullifying any mindgame), or very exhausting when I win (stalking to expose and chaining slugs as fast as possible with 'GF caught on tape' + Knockout mostly)...frankly it's very binary, there is barely any contest in either case, the fun is minimal and it doesn't feel like any horror movie I've seen.
But my friend, I swear upon our immortal souls, it is not cap when I say
novice - intermediate: speed is fine
expert - master: speed is bogus
( ^ also feel free to substitute "speed" with "deadhard.")
Ouch, yeah being a ghostface main i can understand your points more clearly.
Imo that's more Ghostface desperatly needing some love then a overal game problem but fair.
Legion also is just a m1 killer but atleast they can say no to dead hard a lot of the time

At the start of the match everything is in favor of survivors.
Yes.
all pallets are available, everybody is able to hop on gens while the killer spawned on the other side of the map, there are 7 different gens they can contest, etc...
Yes.
The longer a match goes however the more the favor starts to shift towards the killer.
Only if the killer still has a defensible gen setup.
Survivors need to be picked up/unhooked, less generators become available meaning less for the killer to defend, pallets are broken creating dead zones, survivors need to heal or risk a snowball, etc...
Less to defend, again, only if the remaining gen setup is actually defensible. Yes, enough pallets can be broken to create dead zones, but only if gens aren't done too soon for it to matter. Healing isn't that risky, it can be fast without a dedicated build.
That first 60% of generators may go fast but once the killer gets their pressure ball rolling and the game shifts to their favor then the last 2 gens go a whole lot slower
Again, only if the remaining gen setup is actually defensible. You could have 2 gens on either side of the map in which case you are screwed over unless you possess mobility.
There is also the flaw in that comparison that survivors need to do 100% of their objective if they want more than one person to leave through the gates, while killers can secure a win way before they have done all their objectives.
If the killer spreads his hooks between 2 survivors then by hook 6 only 2 are left. And in the majority of the cases those 2 don't stand a chance to finish the gens
The killer has practically already won despite only 50% of their objectives being done.
Just like survivors virtually already win if the last 3 gens are split up? Or again, if it's a killer with no mobility and 2 gens are on either side of the map? Not to say that it doesn't happen, because it does sometimes, but killers cannot reliably spread hooks betwixt just two particular survivors every match, only by happenstance.
You can't really put the 2 objectives side by side like that. Asymmetric games don't work that way.
My friend, in the specific case of DbD, it seems I very much can line them up and still be in the right. A game like 'Depth' on the other hand, you'd be correct.
See I don't think you are in the right though. If the ratio really was 8.3% for killers to 60% for survivors then killers wouldn't be able to win ever
And they do, there are 100s of streamers to prove that
I keep seeing you refer to "defensible gen setup" and i think thats the problem you are facing. You're focussing to much on gens
One of the best advices i got recently was to forget about the gens. It's not the gens that are the problem but the survivors fixing them.
Focus on keeping them busy rather then focussing on defending an area when you are outnumbered
If you down a survivor and see another one near, slug him and chase the other one. The slug can't work on gens, the one you are chasing can't work on gens and somebody who was working on gens has to stop to get the slug up. Two downs is better then one hook
Very often the first person i down is not the first person i hook, and very rarely do i actually lose 3 gens before my first hook that way
When chasing a survivor and you know on which gen the others are working try to zone the chase towards them. They either have to stop working on it or risk you peeling of to them.
Things like that.
I recently started playing Legion without perks and really focussing on chasing and keeping survivors busy and i've been doing way better then i was with full gen slowdown perks. To the point i thought perks were tied to mmr
-

It's not you.
Survs getting to 60% before the killer even gets to 8.3% is still one of the bigger ticket "BS" issues aside from map design.
On one hand, it just feels like crap that it can happen so easily, on the other hand, it's the biggest source of camping, tunneling and hard slugging in the game.
That's not really a fair comparison
Something inexperienced players often don't seem to realise that the progression of both sides their objectives is not linear
At the start of the match everything is in favor of survivors.
all pallets are available, everybody is able to hop on gens while the killer spawned on the other side of the map, there are 7 different gens they can contest, etc...
The longer a match goes however the more the favor starts to shift towards the killer.

this is still a very good video on how to improve as killer
i also recommend his how to not get frustrated as killer videos
-
The only way i can see it work somewhat is to combine it with tinkerer and bubba
When tinkerer triggers and 2 survivors are working on it there is a chance they will finish it just as you arrive and then you have 2 target with all vaults nearby blocked
But the stars have to allign for that to happen
It's pretty bad
-
I'm usually not even in the lobby i alt tab to watch youtube before the game begins
Lobby dodging just screws with the matchmaking
I saw this suggested on the forums once and i wholeheartedly agree that the game would be better without a lobby.
Just go straight from search match to a match. Sucks that killers won't be able to see items anymore but overall the game would be way healthier

Every killer actually has breathing sounds they make that survivors can hear. Pig and Freddy have very quiet ones however which are basically silent. It would be weird if he a was an exception (Especially considering his breathing is just an edited version of Billy’s)
It’s more noticeable with killers like Myers or trapper which are very easy to hear from my experience
Yeah i know
Myers loud breathing has saved from feeding him tons of stalk loads of time

Bruh...
You're just straight up lying at this point.
First of all we are talking from the survivors point of view so how long you main wraith doesn't matter
And second he does makes sounds when you play him even.
Don't listen to this guy op, there is a gurgle sound but you only hear it when the wraith is really close to you, most of the time if they know you are there they will uncloak before getting within the distance for you to hear it.
If you want to know what it sounds like just play a match of wraith against bots and don't move while being cloaked. It plays the exact same sound

So you have 2 standert features being added for survivor (i don't count possible future ones)
Killers were given the ability to close the hatch
Window blockers were added to prevent a survivor to use a strong window multiple times in a row
Bloodlust wasen't always a thing
The entire EGC was added to make sure survivors couldn't extend the game time for killers for ages

How is tunneling not being prevented from playing? If you go down fast with Iri Hatches, A strong nurse or a Meyers, just to be tunneled right off hook? With the DS nerf it's almost impossible to escape the killer if a teammate is not willing to step in and take a hit or distract long enough for you to get away. The DS is useless with the 3 second stun
The 10 seconds endurance is in the mayority of the time more then enough to reach a tile at which point for me all is fair game. Iri hatchet is a single hatchet, Myers is still m1, and while nurse is tricky there are tricks you can do to extend chases with her too.
That's no different then in a shooter game getting shot constantly cause you don't take cover or in a fighting game getting locked in comboes cause you don't block. There is a point where it's not your opponent that's preventing you from playing but your own misplays leading you out of the match.
Even if you get tunneled of hook everytime you still had 4 healthstates worth of chases.
DS is useless that's true, i wish it gave a speedboost too. OTR is a better antitunnel tool now
-
Tunneling is not preventing somebody from playing. You are playing, just cause you get eliminated quickly in the match if you go down fast doesn't mean you didn't get to play
Camping on the the other hand totally agree

Arguing, that Killers disabled time only counts for Survs on Gens is a bit hyprocritical.
Therefore, Surv Incapacitated time would only count if the Killer would chase all other Survivors that are not incapacitated, bcs otherwise the Objective would still be progressed.
If the Killer wouldnt chase or hook, Survs would Auto Win.... WHat stupid argument is that? If the other side doesnt play the Game, you win. Oh yeah cpt. obvious, tell me more!
Oh yeah there is always the "skill issue" argument. Why is there no "skill issue" on Surv side? Every Argument towards balance is the same. Survs suffer under bad perks, toxic killers and unfun gamedesign but Killers just need to learn to play better. Same ######### every time!
Btw. no one said we couldnt argue about the duration of incap on Eruption or a timer on how long eruption stays on gens. But the fact that The core argument of "not being able to play the game" is BS for incap but TRUE for Blastmine (Bcs it COMBINES two effects). One is ok, the other is not.
How on earth is it hypocritical? It's simple math
a combined total of 450 seconds of work (by base) need to be done to complete all gens, If you as killer chase a single survivor for ~150 seconds then 3 survivors can finish all the gens. Every second you spend is 3 seconds gen progress they can get. baring travel time ofcourse
If you are chasing a survivor for 30 seconds and one is on hook and another has to go resque them then only 30 seconds worth of gen progress can be made. At that point of the match your seconds are equal to the survivors
If you have 1 survivor dead, 2 slugged and chasing the last one then you can't lose cause nobody can work on gens, even if you chase that survivor for 6 minutes. Your time is infinitly more valuable then the survivors at that point
Bein hooked, chased, slugged, etc. all stops survivors doing gens. That are situation you can create. Survivors can't stop you from chasing them. It's not about not playing the game
Again, comparing a 4 second stun of a perk that needs to be reactivated again if it doesn't trigger vs 25 (!) seconds of a perk that's pretty much up all the time is non-sensicle
Now that's ofcourse easier said then done, espacially with the weaker killers vs optimal survivors it's a uphill battle to say the least. You're right that some killers don't stand a chance to create said pressure
But the statement of killers time is always 4 times survivor time is plain wrong

I honestly like her, she gives me mortal kombat vibes
Still hope for a cosmetic where she will have cyborg legs though

You know there is always the possibility of a cosmetic without shoes.

The killer reminds me of Mortal Kombat for some reason

Everytime i get more and more dissapointed in what some people call a gamebreaking bug

I still dont get how 25 sec of incapacitation for the killer to spend time on doing a side objective (kicking gens) is "not healthy for the game", but being stunned, blinded and absolutely unable to do ######### for 4 seconds (which translates Into 4x4 = 16sec surv time) through blast mine (which is gatheres by doing the main objective) is completely fine.
At this point, balancing is just one gigantic joke
Killers time is not 4 times the survivors time. That's one of the most silly things i've ever seen go around on the forums and there have been a lot of silly things here
It's more realistic to say the killers time is times the number of survivors on gens time as if those don't get done the killer wins by default
If that number is ever 4 beyond the first 20 seconds of the match you are doing something horribly wrong
Not to mention that if blast mine didn't trigger in a certain amount of time it will dissapear and you have to build it up again where eruption had a joke of a cooldown and sticked to a gen forever untill you get your down
Thinking blast mine and current eruption are even remotely in the same ballpark is the real joke here

Best advice i can give is to give DbD a break if you're feeling mentally unwell.
Some creative or co-op games might be a nice change of pace for you. People often are less toxic when there isn't a competition
If you still want to play DbD concider maybe asking a couple of people for "Kill your Friend" matches. Once you find a nice group you can enjoy the game without fearing toxic players.
Some other creative outlet that isn't gaming also works well. Learning how to draw, or a new language or something can do wonders for your self confidence and will make these kind of encounters in the future much less taxing
