Trying to fight fire with fire is very childish.

Also the "do bones" thing is so stupid. If you go anywhere near a totem you get caught. Please answer with common sense.

You only get caught if the killer is activly looking at you during the couple of seconds that it's active and if they can even reach you before the totem is destroyed

There is no sound notification or anything. Just make sure you have a plan for when the killer comes.

If the killers keeps stopping everything it's doing to defend dull totems then the ruin part of the combo isn't doing anything because of the lack of pressure

  • I'm a little confused why you put these 2 together. They don't really synnergize with eachother at all.

The only reason you see them so often together cause they are the last good and reliable slowdown perks we had before undying released

To answer the question i think it's fair. They are fair on their own, the only reason pop can be a issue is when survivors keep tapping gens to allow killers the pop consistently

That's besides the point. If you can't play a killer or struggle to play a killer without addons, then that's called being addon reliant. For example, billy is one of the couple of killers i run addons with because without cooldown addons, i overhear the chainsaw every 2 seconds. Even if i only use the grey and yellow cooldown addons, i'm still relying on those addons. Also it's not handicapping yourself it actually helps you to play better. If i was to start running addons on everyone it would literally be a walk in the park for most killers.

It is making you a better player because it's handicapping yourself.

Learning to deal with the handicap so you can preform better when you don't have that handicap anymore

Simular how some martial artist use weighted gloves and boots to make their punches and kicks faster without the extra weights

But that doesn't have anything to do with hag bring addon reliant. You can perfectly play hag without addons and do well.

Couple that with the higher rarity addons not being that much stronger then the lower ones and i would honestly argue that Hag is one of the least addon relient killers

But she still need some sort of addons, doesn't matter if they are grey or pink. Remember the old doctor? How you needed to run moldy electrode.

If your playing completly without addons then your handicapping yourself for no reason

Being addon dependent only applies to green and up. It's really not that hard to always have brown or yellows available, especially when multiple are usefull

Especially green addons are a nightmare with how many green offerings there are

Ever since Otz talked about hag being strong, everyone has been jumping on the hag bandwagon. She's very overated. The fact that you NEED decent addons immediately tells you that she's addon reliant, and the fact that the best and most effective way to play her is by playing scummy really shows something. It's not an achievement when you 1 hook ppl in basement as hag because theres no way of getting them out. Plus a good team knows how to keep popping traps and rendering her power useless, as well as how to counter her power in chase, which just involves running to another loop everytime she puts a trap down.

Hag actually isn't that addon dependant cause there is not that much difference between her lower rarity and higher rarity addons iirc

It's not about looping. You're strawmanning. Nobody is saying "Take away his reeling harpoon!" which is why the looping is different. They are saying give him some counterplay, make it so if he aims his weapon, he should be making it count instead of just spamming M2 for free zoning with no skill involved. You're making an argument that hasn't been argued at all.

The ONLY issue is his spamming of M2. Huntress has a wind up, and a downside (and she's still the better killer, I should add) to her wind up if she decides not to take it.

Fair enough, I wouldn't mind if there was a little delay before he could attack or aim again after lowering his gun.

Still disagree on the general statement (of other forumdwellers) that he has no counterplay

  • @SloppyKnockout said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1629488#Comment_1629488

Not enough of a downside to warrant effort-free zoning.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1629487#Comment_1629487

I mean, the general majority disagrees. There's no counterplay to "killer spams M2 for free zoning". Bro, I've been a killer main since 2016. I even have full Legacy on all killers that have it. Even I can see the awful design in something like this.

Now if guys perhaps just aren't good enough and need that kind of free zoning..well, that's a different problem entirely.

Mobility is king in this game, having absolutly nothing of it is a huge downside

People are just salty they can't loop him like other killers

  • @SloppyKnockout said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1629470#Comment_1629470

Nobody wants a 6 second cooldown - but for all his free, no effort zoning, he should have a downside.

You're just exaggerating. It's not a good look.

Being 110 without any movement abilities is a hefty downside tbh

I never blamed killers for it.

Never wanted killers to get banned I merely said it gives killers free tunnel range if you dont bring DS I dont know where you got that idea from.

Again very rediculous as I never said I blame nor want killers banned lol.

Once more never said nor implied.

One more time I never said the stuff you are saying.

Aah yes sorry, I was defending my statement as a whole instead of the issue you adressed, you're right my bad

I'm afraid the only real sollution right now is to wait untill it's fixed.

I know it makes it a lot easier for tunnelers right now but there is not much we can do to combat it except look for alternitive ways untill DS is fixed.

  • @azame said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1629144#Comment_1629144

Number one DS while not being solely anti tunnel it is the best help against it. Sure houdini build works but what good is it I'd the killer just follows you off hook?

Number two I dont condone any bug usage dont make assumptions without proof to help your argument.

I didn't make any assumptions, I made an example to show how ridiculous it is to blame killers for this.

What is it that you want? That killers get banned if they don't wait 5 seconds after the bug happens?

Then what's to stop me from equiping DS and try to let the bug to happen to see how many killers i can bait into getting banned

I'm sorry but whoever brings the broken perk is responsible for the bugs that happen with it.

And while we obviously won't ban survivors for making it harder on themself. Asking for other people to be banned cause you brought a broken perk is ludicrous.

How strong or needed you feel the perk is is completely irrelevant

  • @azame said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1627577#Comment_1627577

Now killers have even more free range to tunnel that is not a solution.

I won't deny some kilers will take this opertunitty to tunnel with open arms but if you're getting tunneled every game then handicapping yourself by equiping a broken perk only works against you.

There are other options, stuff like dance with me with lithe and iron will to try and sneak away during a chase might not be as foolproof as DS but they do work

DS while the easiest and most powerfull isn't the only option against tunneling

Like i said earlier in the thread. If Overcharge was bugged to not apply gen regression if you failed the skill check you wouldn't call out people of bug abuse if they didn't porpusly stop working on the gen

I don't see why that has to be different with DS just because it's more popular

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/discussion/comment/1627577#Comment_1627577

That's a good point, but OP is talking about actively trying to make the bug occur. It's no different from survivors trying to make killers get stuck in pallets, if you want a better comparison.

That is a better comparison yeah.

Still don't think it's exactly the same though as pallets will always be in the map but the DS is the survivors choice if it's in the game in the first place

I just don't think punishing players because other players brought a broken perk is fair.

The difference between this and all the other bug abuses we had so far is that it's entirely in the abused one choice that it happens. If you bring a perk knowing it's bugged then that's on you.

For example if Overcharge would be bugged and not regress the gens when you fail the skillcheck would all survivors that don't purposelly stop working on the generator for a while be abusing a bug? Sounds kinda silly right

Killers should be good sports about it ofcourse but activly calling them out for abusing a bug while it was another player that allowed the bug to happen in the first place by bringing the broken perk feels really unfair to me

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/discussion/comment/1627335#Comment_1627335

I'm sure the people using Wake Up! when it affected all interactions were also "just using the perk normally".

Difference with the wake up bug was that it benifited those who equiped it,not the opposition

As killer i can't control what survivors equip

You can avoid the DS bug by simply not equiping it

  • Batman would beat all the killers with prep time, that's his entire stick

Myers is way to slow to take down the bat, Batman would just kite him untill he can find a way to trap him like pouring cement on him or something

Freddy it depents, if batman can wake up even once he'll just pull a freddy vs jason and create anti-dream gas which he would spray over gotham. No dreams, Freddy gets forgotten

Not sure why Oni is so high either, yes he's strong but Bane and killer Croc prove that's not enough

Most importantly most killers in dead by daylight struggle against pallets and windows used by a nerd in a elf costume, what on earth will they do against a superhero

  • Just the text was changed not the actual effects

Expect the nerf to come next patch though, they are probably still testing it how it works with the reduced range and probably looking for a sollution for the bp gain when someone is in a locker

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

But will also make it much more expensive to run every game

Not that much more expensive tbh

I certainly wouldn't mind paying like 2000 more bloodpoints to see some green addons more commonly

  • @ClickyClicky said:

Amanda's letter and All Seeing are rarer than green though.

Green is the rarest an addon can get

While green is more common then higher rarities between all the map offerings, 5 bp offerings, green mori and 5 blight addons getting c21 specificly is pretty rare

As opposed to iridesent where there are only 3 choices. Also the reason why mori's happen so often, you get one about every 3 bloodwebs at the bare minimun

Making the compount anything but green will make it more common

  • I don't use nor have a problem with DS so i don't really care if it gets fixed sooner or later

I am kinda hoping it takes a while though. Now we can see if DS is really needed to be able to survive.

So far, survivors I've seen have no real problems with DS being gone. They still do fine, albeit a bit less cocky

  • @TheWarNung said:

They should just make it an iri addon and downgrade his iri blight tag (insta-down survivors with your final rush) to purple. Either that or reduce the detection range from 16 meters to 8.

I'd actually like to see a weaker yellow version of this addon as well (6 meter detection range and briefer aura duration?). It really makes up for Blight's low-to-the-ground FOV and the fact that he has to look at the floor during his cooldown.

Making it iri would make it more common

Green is the rarest it can be

Imo leave it like it is for now. Start making changes when most survivors actually start learning how to play vs him

  • They should make it so people who DC can't join another match untill that one is finished

Then you have some motivation to make it last as long as possible

  • No killers synergizes well with monstrous shrine as to synergize with something you have to actually do something

  • Everybody complains too much.

Not even talking about games anymore

  • The nice thing is that it works with all kinds of damage, not just basic attacks

Someone stept in your trap halfway across the map? All pallets around you get blocked.

Not nearly enough to make this perk good, but it does have some funny moments if your lucky

  • I always thought that was a connection problem rather then a actual bug

  • Blight can really make good use out of it, also since the buff it's actually a pretty decent perk that is also fun to use

Watching the panic when you show up without them suspecting it never get's old

  • We really haven't reached the stage yet where we can say wether it's worth the effort or not

Can we give people the time to become good with him before we rate him

Nurses weren't all that great either the first week she was out

"If a lunge only covers 0.87m of distance that would mean you would be in striking distance less then a quarter of a second from a full range lunge"

    How. Literally how.

You enter post-Rush fatigue for 2.5 seconds (yes, 2.5 seconds. Not one 1 second. Check the DBD wiki. Or just count it in your head yourself.) In that time, the Survivor is moving at a rate of 4 meters per second. At 4 meters per second, a Survivor can travel 10 meters in 2.5 seconds. The Killer moves at 4.6 meters per second, meaning they catch up to that Survivor at a rate of 0.6 meters per second. If 10 - 0.87 = 9.13, that means it takes over 15 seconds before you are in lunging distance.

But hey, 15 seconds isn't that much longer than 0.25 seconds, right?

"Error with that calculation is that lunges last way longer then 0.3 seconds. Another number added without really thinking about it."

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/K0HUBNRL5Z32/desktop-screenshot-2020.png

    Sorry, you were saying?

Okay you got me with the lunge time, 0.87m was just way of for me but I realise now. the calculation look where the killer is but don't take into acount the hitbox that shoots a distance in front of the killer. That's why it felt off. My bad, I should have really double checked that

And after actually timing it the post-rush the cooldown is indeed 2.5 seconds

Still that calculation assumes the survivor always knows the direction of the nearest palet/window, that they always take the most optimal path to it and that the killer just follows the survivor directly in their footsteps and doesn't make any attempt to cut them off.

So that the survivor plays at their best and the killer at their worst

Theorizing is nice and all but for me in practise very often if i miss my rush attack close to the survivor I can hit them shortly after assuming no pallet is near and it definitively doesn't take 15 seconds

Maybe that will change after survivors get better at dealing with Blight who knows

    *31 now

Lot's of people agreeing with me doesn't necessarily make it wrong either, it just means it's an opinion which is justified enough that people can agree with it or at the very least understand it. It is possible that they were agreeing with the latter half statement rather than the entirety, but I don't doubt that at least some of the 30+ people who decided to upvote that first comment agreed with it in the entirety.

A perfect example of that is the comment you just cited, my second on this thread which elaborated only on what I read and interpreted, which 9 people did upvote, so clearly they also saw the same thing I did even if you don't. Unlike the first comment there's no room to mix-up what they're agreeing with since there's no mention of anything else except what I interpreted as aggressive behavior.

Sorry that Dead By Daylight isn't known for it's non-toxic community? Or would you like to argue against that as well?

I'm sorry we don't see eye to eye, but I'll still have to disagree with you. I've already explained what I read and how I interpreted it and felt the language and punctuation was clear enough to be called out on, if there was even slightly more doubt I would not have written about it. But I did.

Personally I believe OP's thread is infinitely (infinitively isn't a word) more helpful than either of those comments. Instead of just describing the bug he took the time to record, edit, and upload footage of the actual bug itself and posted it onto the forums asking for a fix.

Not going to argue against that dbd is toxic. It simply is, as are many online games.

Just be aware that you don't start seeing toxicity were there isn't any.

Do want to praise you for being civil in this discussion.

And sorry for any other spelling mistakes i made. English isn't my first language.

Hell, could be a factor why i can't see anything wrong with the first 2 post

"You only need to be within 4m to get a hit"

    LMAOWHAT

    Here's some math:

Killers lunge at a speed of 6.9 meters per second. Survivors move at a speed of 4 meters per second. This means that lunging at a running Survivor will close the distance at a rate of 2.9 meters per second. A lunge lasts for 0.3 seconds. This means that a full lunge will close 0.87 meters of distance, AT MOST. I say "at most" because this isn't even taking into account the fact that 6.9 meters per second is only the maximum speed; the lunge has a ramp-up and a ramp-down.

In conclusion: No. You cannot fatigue and then immediately lunge after a Survivor to get a hit. A lunge will shave off, at the absolute most, 1.4 seconds of time in the scenario I described above. Otherwise known as: NOT ENOUGH TIME TO PREVENT THE SURVIVOR FROM FINDING A WINDOW OR PALLET.

Okay i love numbercrunching as much as the next guy but can you think about the answers you got

If a lunge only covers 0.87m of distance that would mean you would be in striking distance less then a quarter of a second from a full range lunge

Error with that calculation is that lunges last way longer then 0.3 seconds. Another number added without really thinking about it.

Again i love numbercrunching and theorising but the theory and practise of this game are massivly different.

Many of these calculations just don't happen in real games

You can calculate all you want but from my experience of playing and watching this killer if you miss right next to the survivor they are going down 2 seconds later unless there is a pallet right there

  • @Demogordon_Ramsay said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1615641#Comment_1615641

Yes, I have tried learning him and going against him, and I've learned that the counterplay to him is incredibly simple. What's the point of mastering him when the counterplay takes a thousandth of the time to nail? It's like mastering Legion. What's the point?

If they just fixed the lunge, it would actually be hard to counter a good Blight and he'd be worth mastering. But right now? Absolutely not.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1615652#Comment_1615652

First off, it's longer than a second. That's not even taking into account things like wonky collision forcing a bump or vice versa, making you Rush past them.

Second off, even if it were just a second, if the Survivor runs forward, one second of stun is 4 meters of distance. At 115 speed, it takes 6 and two thirds of a second for you to catch up to that, for almost 8 seconds of time the Survivor has to find a window or a pallet. If the Survivor knows their tiles, that's plenty of time.

Forgot one little detail in your calculations there

    Killers can lunge

You only need to be within 4m to get a hit, so as you calculated if you start the fatigue as close to them as possible and there isn't a pallet or window right there they are getting hit

Ofcourse assuming you fatigue as close to them as possible. If you rush past them that's on you

  • @Demogordon_Ramsay said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1615478#Comment_1615478

And that's when you realize that Survivors can hardcore loop you in your power with insane advantages at most loops, and just run around an object to prevent you from hitting them with Rush once you break the pallet. Your skill is irrelevant when the counterplay to the Killer both in and out of their power it's so amazingly simple that trying to actually be a big brain about it will likely hurt you.

It doesn't really matter if they run around an object if there is no pallet or window nearby

Who cares if you can't hit them with your power when you have a attack cooldown of a second and you're right next to the survivor

Aah you mean the number of likes your comment got. You should watch out how much value you put in that. Lot's of people agreeing on something doesn't mean it's right.

Also notice that the problem post where you make up a bunch of agressive stuff has as of writing 9 upvotes. Another showcase that you shouldn't put so much weight in that

Sounds to me that the upvotes in your first post were mostly about how dropping her isn't a perfect solution rather then the comments being "agressive"

You don't know why they upvoted it. Another reason to not put much value into those things

I'm sorry but i see zero agression in the mentioned post. One said what happened in clip the op posted to save people's time and the other actual offered a work around to it

Me and 15 other people (as of writing) disagree. If you didn't want to be called out I suggest taking a second look at how you write and phrase things before posting them. I stand by my original statement and the inference (not assumption) I made therein.

    ^

15 other people? just because 15 other people post in the same thread as you doesn't automaticly mean they agree with you. Litteraly only one other person said something to Angelicus

I suggest not reading stuff that isn't writen. Nothing what they said as agressive in any way shape or form. You're just making stuff up.

  • So many people not realising

Green rarity is the "rarest" a addon can be

Between all the map/bloodpoint offerings there are and the 5 addons the blight has getting one in perticular is pretty uncommon

Bump this addon to purple or iri and you'll see it every game

  • Imo Legion sits comfortably in the middle of power level of all the killers

As long as you are good at chasing they can win most matches

  • Fun fact green addons are actually rarer then pink ones if you want specific ones

  • Fixated is such a underrated perk

Learn to stealth is also good advice. I know some find it boring but it's part of the game and learning to avoid getting chased or dissapearing from a chase helps massivly against the strong "no counter" chasers

  • It's always funny how when you have killers that do well people always say ignore those matches the survivors weren't good

Don't they realise when a killer plays well he makes the survivors look bad

Not going to make much comment on how balanced the game is or not on high levels but that's just a pattern that I'm noticing

Also nurse is not the best killer in the game. I really wish that myth could be busted. With all her bugs and wankyness she's bottom A at best.

Just because in theory a perfect nurse can never lose doesn't make it that way in a real game

  • Trying to get in the other players head

It is widely known as a mocking gesture so you will play differently when they do it, even if it's just on a subconcious level

And making the killer go after you when you know your in a strong position leads to the 5 minute genrush games

Trying to antagonise the opposition into making mistakes.

The thing is, against any other killer the BT exchange works. It only didn't work against Bubba as he can simply down you before or get both, also land a double hit to counter BT. But new Doc is able to just cancel your attempt to unhook.

No no, forget about bt, forget about unhooking

Do gens and leave. Leaving the camped on on the hook

If every camper only got 1 or 2 kills all the time they would stop using it as their go to strategy

  • Bloody Mary, bloody Mary, bloody Mary

  • Same as with any camping killer

    Do gens and get out

I know it's boring, but if you feed campers kills it's only going to make them do it more

  • Because they have learned in the past that saying what they are planning to do is a bad idea.

People take their words as gospel and will just rage when the devs say something and are then not able to follow it up for whatever reason.

Best way to stop people from using your words against you is to say nothing at all

  • DS is so usefull you get a benifit for it even if you don't have it equiped.

As long as there is an obsession the killer will most likely play around DS. Regardless of you having it or not

  • Seems to be this is the killer answer to "the power of holding w"

You can't really run in a straight line for 20 seconds against this guy like you can with other m1 killers

Totems are hard to find, especially on certain maps, like Lerys, and the game, expecting all survivors to know where every totem spawn is like the back of their hand is not a reasonable expectation. Besides your logic is flawed, you forgot why totem spawns were made harder in the first place, when they were easy to find the totems were usually cleansed every game and killers complained about it and wanted them to be harder to find. Now you're expecting all survivors to know where the intentionally well hidden spots are? Give me a break.

You don't need to know every single totem spawn like the back of your hand. But knowing the notoriously well hidden ones really isn't asking that much.

For example on the game there is a spawn under the stairs leading to the vaultdrop. In the red barn there is one inside the hai, on the lab map there is a spawnspot hidden in the large testing area where you have to do some parkour to get to it. The large machines on the farm map also often have one. Hills also often have a spawnspot.

I thought of all of these on the spot and i play this game like 4 times a week.

The totemspots were changed because they litterally used to spawn on top of hills or right next to a gen in the open

Mapknowledge is a skill survivors have and it's what seperates mediocre ones from good ones.

If you don't want to do the effort there is no shame in staying a mediocre survivor and just dealing with the occasional noed that triggers but you can't complain about it then.

The totems are hard to find these days, it's not so much we're lazy and that's why we're not cleansing totems, it's more to do with the fact we can't find the bloody things. Hex totems give you a noise notification and some light to hit where they are but dull totems don't give any hints, you have to find them.

There are only so many places totems can spawn, once you played enough and pay attention to it it's really not unreasenable that you can know most spots by heart. Especially the hard ones

Untill you get to that point there are multiple perks and items that show you were they are. You just have to equip them

Saying they are hard to find is a poor excuse as learning were they are is part of the learning process

Bruh i didnt ask anybody to spread hate damn yall love arguing...smh

Not to argue, but what was the point of this post then? If not to spread hate towards this perticular combination of perks

Sounds to me that you lost a game and instead of looking at yourself on how to improve decided to blame it on the loadout of the killer and show of to everybody how "lame" he was

No offence but between someone picking a unpopular perk/addon combination and someone who reacts to losses by trying to mock and shame the person they lost too i know who i would call most petty
