NOED, free easy downs for the killer and if it’s solo Q you just camped to death after getting hit by it.

- Because he was the weakest killers and a true challenge to keep all 4 survivors asleep.
- They reworked him. Changing him into a completely different killer.
- Dropped him right after the rework.
- No new main, unless you consider solo survivor. Then Jane.
- I´ll only go back to maining Freddy if they reverse his rework.
To be fair, new wraith does old Freddy waaaay better. One of my favorite builds was pill bottle or paint brush. Both enabled a hit and run playstyle while you had wallhacks.
Almost everything I miss about him is replicated in current wraith. Wraith can do hit and run with wallhacks way better. All that’s missing is like 2 minute long exit gates timers.
-
Get it to like 95% and then red herring it and wait until they come over.
-
I mained Myers for a super long time, because for most of DBDs early years he was the only killer who could 1 shot attack out of stealth. Then I got addicted to tombstones for a while.
I moved onto Ghostface for like a year until I started wanting to play killers with a real “power” outside being sneaky.
Now I just randomly swap between all the killers but if skill based matchmaking goes online I’ll probably spam spirit like everyone else.
-
Probably a SWF with a key, 2 toolboxes, and a medkit.
Then the inevitable hatch offering + map offering comes through. Gens get slammed with BNPs, maybe someone has an insta medkit, and at 2 gens left you almost automatically lose the game.
-
No not really. There’s “scary” builds you can do that are actually good at killing survivors.
-
I don’t think so, it keeps the animations a bit more special not having them spammed every game
-
All moris are pretty much useless. Map offerings are way better at this point, even if it’s just to a balanced map. Canceling out a Haddo offering will give you more value than an ebony.

Finally, the meme "Just break the chase and hide" will come true
I mean I’m sure it will be fun as a survivor. If you get injured, camp a pallet around a corner, drop it on the killer; smash hit away and you are gone.
Or maybe quick and quiet with no scratch marks or sound into a locker for a head on if they ever figure it out.
Maybe deception to open a locker etc etc.
Its going to probably be the strongest direct chase perk after exhaustion perks and iron will on a ton of maps.
Just pack a medkit so you keep more of its charges and you will be golden.

Lucky Break is quickly going to become one of the more hated perks. You're gonna see a lot of people bringing it, iron will, and some indoor map/Haddonfield offerrings.
Yeah it already looks super annoying.
Lucky break, iron will, maybe quick and quiet and lithe / balanced / smash hit.
For a game where it was basically impossible to escape chases with the killer now it will probably be pretty easy. Totally losing chase with a survivor will probably be a game losing event at higher ranks.
The only good part is it will really hurt spirit.

Stand at a loop, snare 1 side, snare the other, double back and get survivors to step in both of them, get a hit.
This is how you play Freddy now and it's not gonna change after the nerf, you still play as and against him the exact same way.
Except you know, tons of loops are interconnected and don’t give him the opportunity to do it that easily.
He looks pretty gutted. They want him to preemptively set the snares more like traps but then also only give him 5?
Might as well just play clown at this point; because his chasing power is similar but way better now.
-
They are still really good with an indoor map offering. I don’t use them going to a random map though.
-
Need a tldr for this. The game is so simple. Are you being chased? No? Do gens. That’s it. The hoards of urban evading clauds only boost kill rates.
-
Why not tunnel if there is no DS?
As a killer, your only goals are killing and defending gens. The only deterrent to not tunneling someone is they are good at looping. Good survivors don’t get tunneled. Bad ones do.
-
The survivor rule book hinders you as a killer. Break free, and do what is necessary to win.
2-3 gens done in 2-3 minutes? Tunnel someone immediately. Basement hook at 5 gens left? Camp it out.
-
Nah. Just run monitor. 16m radius all game or 0m radius like 10% of the time?
-
I don’t see why anyone would main a killer in DBD but I will play some pig now and then, she’s just M1 so it’s not like playing her requires any sort of extra consideration.
Me? I play pig for the RNG moris. I only spin as her if I got tampered timer and crate of gears / Jigsaws sketch.
Other than that not much reason beyond the memes

I agree on Windows of Opportunity being good (for solo and swf).
But why do you think that Zanshin Tactics is good?
It's definetely one of the worst killer perks in the game imo
This guy comes in here, posts paragraphs about how junk perks are amazing, and never posts some video evidence to prove it.
“I know where the pallet at this tile is, I have 3000 hours in the game but don’t know where the pallets at these generic tiles are, Zanshin tactics value”
Windows is only decent because in solo Q you don’t always know what has been used. The killer always knows.
-
Nah, she needs a lullaby because it’s a ranged killer who can spam shots (that actually do damage unlike trickster).
If you want a silent ranged killer play the slinger, who actually requires good aim instead of “just throw in the general direction of survivors” huntress

Trash, no cooldown or bust. Give me a reason to run it over a meta killer perk beyond memes. Hashtag buff monstrous shrine

Yeah but 6 hours over 3 DCs in a one week span? I’d get it if it was 1-2 hours maybe even 3 but 6? Over an accidental disconnect on a match we were winning on? And it’s not like my connection is trash cause whenever I check it everything is perfectly fine and it never does this on any other game.
“I stopped DCing once I got the 30 min penalty” implies you were ragequitting a ton and then got more DC penalties from your “accidental” disconnects after.
DC penalty is for rage quitters, I hated when it was off as both killer and survivor. Survivor it was auto lose when your team DCs cause they just can’t play against spirit or something. Killer it was waste addons to have 3-4 man SWFs DC at 5 gens if they didn’t like the killer you were playing. Leave it on for sure
-
It’s more than muscles. A dark power motivates the beast.
-
I miss old thick mist offerings too much, this new mist is console trash. Old thick mist turned any map into a really close quarters brawl
-
To get carried by easy hit boxes
-
Nah it’s still BT/DS. BT/DS has been the meta for like 4 years for a reason.
No BT? Well unsafe unhooks for you if the killer is proxy camping, maybe they just slap the unhooked survivor down and pick up immediately. A game winning move if there is no DS.
A killer can end the game so quickly and easily without the presence of those two perks. Adrenaline doesn’t matter if the survivors don’t make it to endgame because someone is getting tunneled out at 4-5 gens left and there are no perks to save them. Get better at looping? Well, problem is some killers can’t be looped.
-
I just tunnel if there’s no obsession, survivors don’t wanna pay the DS tax and instead been stacking up on the other second chance perks instead. No reason not to punish the greed.

Yeah because one community is bad it's now excusable to tell people to off themselves!
Next up you'll be advocating for the use of slurs because they've been used in old COD lobbies- great idea!
To quote myself from an earlier post to you, "You seem like a right ray of sunshine."
Im saying it’s a part of online gaming and if you can’t handle it here, you can’t handle it anywhere.
Maybe someone who takes it to heart isn’t suited for competitive games and should try civilization (on single player)

Because to some people, being told to ######### kill themselves is a pretty disheartening thing to hear.
They clearly haven’t played any FPSs / MOBAs ever and have played DBD as their only competitive online game then.
On Xbox you actually get smack talk over a mic instead of some salty endgame text messages.
-
You can’t see them until he uses it. A big brain demo can use that in conjunction with Discordance/BBQ/Tinkerer to ambush people from them if the huge “raaaaaaaghhh” and stomping isn’t enough to make them pay attention
-
Why do people care is the real question?
Personally I think it’s funny when someone gets so mad they spew salt on my steam profile. Especially since many games I have the chat off so they get that pissed by in game actions alone.

I must have terrible headphones then because I can't hear him over the generator sounds.
Also how loud and how far away can you hear Ghostface?
I wouldn’t worry about it, it’s a life saver in solo Q where you don’t have to be overly concerned with your teammates dying. Only in SWF I’d worry about bringing team oriented perks.
By the time you hear a wraith or ghostface it’s probably too late and they are basically going to get a free hit on you. By the time you hear a tinkerer Bubba saw you are well within chainsaw sweep range. Deathslinger can walk around a corner and you are already in his attack range. Or maybe you don’t know that a speed addon tinkerer Oni / Blight / Billy is about a second away from paying your generator a visit.
I get so many free downs with Tinkerer and stealth killers, I’m running silent bell on my wraith half the time. I do range addon nurse + monitor and teleport onto gens from outside the terror radius.
There’s no shame in using spine chill.
-
As a chili using tinkerer Bubba I approve of this thread.
-
I don’t think that’s scary at all. The only “scary” perks I find in DBD is probably like infectious fright, Devour Hope at 3 stacks, and maybe an Iron Maiden jumpscare.
Annoying perks? Just the meta slowdown ones. Getting my gen popped 2-3 times in a row because my teammates can’t loop is more tilting than any minor status effects like Lullaby or having someone steal my brown toolbox with Franklins.

My Freddy build currently is BBQ & Chili, Sloppy Butcher, Pop Goes the Weasel, and Corrupt Intervention. I'm thinking of replacing Corrupt Intervention with Thanatophobia. Would that be a strong "Forever Freddy" build or is there a better combination of perks? I've also considered replacing Sloppy Butcher with dying light but I think the synergy between sloppy butcher and thanatophobia would be better than the synergy between dying light and thanatophobia. I'm also not a big fan of ruin and undying since the undying nerf, so I think just running pop would be the better option.
Honestly I think that’s the best forever Freddy build already.
Sloppy I dump for Brutal Strength most of the time though, makes his chase even stronger. You could potentially just toss standalone Ruin or Tinkerer in there too but I think the core of corrupt pop BBQ is too good to give up.

I switched over from testing it on Wraith to try out on bubba. I actually really like the perk while it lasts. you can put survivors in really tough situations especially if you pre-blocked any other nearby vaults with Bamboozle.
So far the funniest use I got out from it was as bubba on Léry’s. The game hadn’t been on long and they didn’t know I had hex: CC so when Quintin vaulted the window closest to where basement spawns in the doctors office area... well he was stuck between a vault he unwittingly blocked himself and big ol’ Bubba coming through the only door available to get out lol.
Yeah I’d say Bubba is probably the strongest crowd control user since he gets instant downs or pallets from it instead of basic attacks.
The super strong killers ignore looping so you don’t need it on them but Bubba is probably the strongest traditional killer who can be looped. Maybe you could argue curve Billy but idk he’s kinda dead to me since his nerf.
It does feel great watching LT walls, jungle gyms, and the shack get shut down automatically.

@Equus said:
I only have it on trickster and on legion. On it's own crowd control sucks because it gets cleansed to soon (I've been trying it out 2 evenings in different builds). You need to build around it. I hate it with bamboozle since it feels like taking pop while you also have ruin.
I have good succes with pairing any hex with thrill of the hunt/thana/undying on legion but that means you need to actively pressure totems and gens. If thrill goes off you need to beeline towards the totem at once, thana ensures you have enough time. Crowd control does give you a lot of value in this build with legion since they are injured and then you shut the looping down. That being said crowd control is hit or miss and dedicating an entire build to make it work tells me it's to weak right now.
Do want to test it further on other killers, and am still trying it out with legion. Also I find trickster too slow to be able to defend a hex properly.
Why would you make your entire build around crowd control instead of devour or ruin? Makes no sense since those are way more powerful long term.
There’s only two killers who really really hate windows and that’s Bubba and Billy, both who can get good use out of even a short lived crowd control hex.
They vault the window, it’s blocked. They feed you the pallet or they go down. It just happens even faster than if you had bamboozle and can help a ton if there’s linked tiles.
I doubt it’s worth running on other killers beyond those two.

That's what I would like tbh. Just to know the percentage. As a completionist I'm probs gonna do it either way :/
I would just do it on characters you plan to play a lot, especially killers who have good addons.
Like it’s probably actually bad to prestige someone like demo because the increased rarity bloodwebs would in theory mean less rat livers.
But someone like Blight, Oni, Clown, Bubba, etc who all have lots of good addons it’s probably worth it if you are going to play them a lot. With BBQ you are usually cleaning out almost an entire bloodweb each game so it probably adds up a lot in the long run.
-
I used it a few times on Bubba, it was really strong when it stayed up for more than 30 seconds. Still had to bring bamboozle as a backup for when survivors spawned next to it though.

This is Storehouse, the Map is doing that since the Rework. Whenever more T/L-Walls spawn, there are less Jungle Gyms, so they place Double Pallets (or sometimes 4 Pallets in that area of the video).
I dont know what is doing that, I guess because they removed the two guaranteed spawns inside the Storehouse. Maybe they can find a way to spawn less T/L-Walls and more Jungle Gyms/Longwalls, to avoid having 2 or more Pallets in that specific spot (or, they remove the Breakable Wall and add those two Pallets back).
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2071173#Comment_2071173
On Suffocation Pit as well?
And regarding tournaments, it is one reason why tournaments are stupid. You cannot really compare games if one Killer gets Suffocation Pit like seen in the video and the other player has a lot of Jungle Gyms in the center area.
Map Seeds would at least remove that reason against tournaments.
I don’t even see why it matters in a tournament considering it’s all nurses anyways. Which is another reason why DBD tournaments are lame, there’s only 2 killers played and both of them have super boring gameplay. So you have boring killer gameplay and then the survivor gameplay is holding M1 so....
I don’t think I’ve ever watched a DBD tournament for more than like 2-3 minutes.

Two words: Protection hit. If the unhooker really wanted to help the other survivor, they'd take a hit.
It’s trivial for the wraith to get around to the person he wants to hit during the uncloak speed boost. And if it’s done well, you are hitting them when the other survivor is still coming out of an animation lock. It’s not really possible to take a protection hit.

The only difference between tunneling and not tunneling is the target you go for. Other than that, they are functionally the same: a set of chases. To say that there's no skill in tunneling is to deny that chasing requires skill (which some people actually believe, but I'm hoping you're not one of them).
I mean there’s plenty of ways to do no skill tunneling. Sitting near the hook invisible with wraith, then hitting the guy the second they get off the hook for example. Ignores BT, if they don’t have DS it can be a free win if it’s done early.
Solo Q teams will never be able to communicate what is happening before it’s been done. Then at that point the skill of the other survivors is almost irrelevant unless someone goes on a godly run.
-
My experience with the MMR system was pretty bad. I only got nurses, spirits, two endfury twins, and an Oni. It reminded me of 2017 when red ranks was literally only Nurse and Billy.
I didn’t get around to playing killer much but from what I saw it was almost all SWFs being put against high MMR killers.
So as a solo survivor I would mainly get Nurse/Spirit spam and as a killer I would mainly get SWFs. Sounds resident sleeper.

Twitch streamer Bronx mains demo, and gets 4ks almost every game at rank 1. I think the biggest issues with Demo are build variety and the learning curve. His best add-ons are brown, and the rest are almost useless in comparison.
Most killers I've seen lately are ranged, PH, slinger, huntress, ect. Demo's Shred won't go over short loops, and the portals take more thought than Freddy's teleport.
I think Demo is just a bit challenging, and quite punishing for most to pick up, but he is VERY fun and rewarding when mastered. I've spent more BP on doggo than any other killer myself <3
4ks almost every game at rank 1 is pretty easy for any experienced killer. It’s trivial to tunnel a bad survivor out and win a 3v1 by default. Survivor ranking has boosted tons of potatoes into red ranks.
Once the MMR system comes out I’m sure the 4K train will probably come to a swift halt as he gets meta SWFs back to back. Beating up on solo Q teams isn’t really an indicator of a killers strength.

I mean I managed to get a 4K at cold wind from a SWF just now. Maybe I just got lucky or they were bad, though they were all purple and red ranks. His lunge works for me if I do it before they reach the pallet. And putting portals around gens and hooks helps patrol the area. Probably how it will go for me though is first couple of games were great, the rest I’m going to eat dirt.
If you 4kd them with demo; you probably could have 4kd them with just about any killer. He’s throughly mediocre. Medicore antiloop and medicore mobility.
His addons are trash, he has like 3 worth using. You barely have any time to mess around with portals until someone is already dead. People say he’s good at holding spread out 3 gens but all the survivors have to do is hold W away and it won’t work.
-
I think he’s pretty junk. He can be OK at straight loops but his shred does almost nothing at circular loops.
He still takes two hits to down people, he can be fed pallets, and his mobility both takes time to set up and can be taken away.

Most gens have a pallet nearby. Ones that don't usually have a clear line of sight so you can see the killer coming.
Lithe and balanced require a trigger at least, they aren't used at pallet loops. Sprint burst is awful too there's no denying that. Honestly exhaustion perks were a mistake.
Plenty of them on swamp and autohaven don’t. They have nothing, not even any good places to hide nearby. Just total deadzone gens.
And if the killer is say Billy, Blight, Oni, etc it hardly even matters if there is visibility because they are at the gen before you can really even react if they have speed addons.
