The bots are better than most players.
Remove DC penalties. This encourages players to give there team a bot. However, prevent players from re-queing until the bot dies or escapes.
Everyone's happy. The player isn't stuck in a match they don't want to be in, their team isn't screwed over and neither is the Killer. Everyone's happy except for the people with zero empathy and people who enjoy making other people miserable.
...and people who want human opponents/teammates in a pvp game?
nah, demonize them too. /s

Sometimes I love this so much in Mario Kart and other times I want to throw the controller lol. Sounds like it would fit this game just fine as I already feel this way in DBD some days.
it doesnt need to be rng, preferably things like a buff that applies as people die/gens pop that has a reasonable impact with considerations to prevent abuse. Just some things to keep the game realistic if someone quits/gets tunnelled out and/or 3 gens pop in the first 90 seconds.
-
all my takes are hot, apparently.
Like that both sides should have comeback mechanics to reduce snowballing for either side, effectively rubber banding matches

Banning someone for not wanting play this game is like banning someone playing Monopoly against someone starting with 5000 dollars and half the property.
...its more like banning someone for flipping the table when something doesnt go their way in the game. People dont like playing with people like that.

Id rather weak perks get buffed, but bhvr seem to either over or underbuff perks every time they try.

Oh you don’t understand what an unsafe pallet is. Lol. Well that clears up a whole lot.
TBF there are degrees of unsafe, varying from 60/40 down to "if you don't stun you're eating a hit." The latter trash pallets are just as bad as god pallets imo
-
Players used to be able to equate pips to winning/losing before MMR. You technically still can, but its more of a self imposed challenge than anything now.

Certain survivor screams though yeah, i have to silence them, because they are so damn loud.
at this point I wish most of them they were replaced with a deadpan "ouch". The extended screams are so much worse.

yeah thats a great idea!!! lets nerf a perk that just recently made it to b tier!!!!!
Its not even really a nerf. You'd get more value from killers slapping gens that DONT have it than anything. Even when successful the attack animation is like a third of the stun duration as it is.
-
@Ayodam said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3504465#Comment_3504465
So what do survivors get in exchange for this? They need to repair a gen to at least 50% uninterrupted to apply Blastmine, can’t repair the gen fully to potentially get value from the perk, and then get a 5 second stun for all that. And since you would nerf it, what do survivors receive in exchange?
They get killers blindly slapping gens before kicking them, wasting time. Its the respect factor like DS used to have. Remember I said there should be no notification that it even worked, so its a blind guess attempt on the killer's side. Basically just some type of method to make a hard read and not just take the stun.
-
I think its one of those perks thats specifically "unfun" to go against, even if its not strong.
If I could change one thing about it, I'd make it so you can slap a gen to disarm it (with no notification or feedback) to give a risk/reward counterplay to it regarding its timewaste: You waste a little time to try getting rid of it with the hope you avoided the longer stun/blind. Basically like dredge smacking locker locks but without any way of seeing it did something.

I am not believing any of Nightlight stats because it's not showing all community.
If i am not mistaken, it's just shows stats of people who using this website. So it's very limited with small community.
That's why official stats comes first. For me at least.
Which is fine, until you start trying to use that data to justify other hypotheses. Nightlight is more curated data, while the overall stats is every tom dick and jane to own a copy of the game in the world. Both have their issues and both give insight in their own way.

Self-Care, Bond and Spine Chill aren't showing up in the top 10 perks on Nightlight either.
But if you are using nightlight.gg and MFT is at the same usage as Lithe, which is considered a balanced perk, and is below Windows of Opportunity, Resilience and Adrenaline, all perks that are considered balanced. Then doesn't Nightlight.gg indicate that MFT is balanced too?
When Dead Hard was on Nightlight.gg, it had an extremely high usage rate, like 70% wasn't it? That indicates a perk that should be nerfed.
Nightlight has noting to do with balance, just usage rates.

Oh my. 😂😂🤣
I am bias? Take a look to mirror before call people like that.
Outcome bias =/= biased. It means you made up your mind before receiving the data, then used the end result to justify it without breaking down the data. In all fairness, this happens with people everytime they release official numbers due to their vague blanket nature (all MMRs, regions, metas, etc)
Its nothing against you personally, im just saying your dismissal of nightlight because it is at odds with the official data is a bit, well, dismissive.

nightlight is self submitted though. so it's not nearly as good as an indicator of what's used as what bhvr would have.
of course, but claiming it has a low pick rate is a stretch, especially based off of data where it didnt exist for half the duration.

Find workable solutions, just like you’d ask someone complaining about some other aspect of this game to do. That’s the best advice anyone can offer.
Its not actually good advice though. Starting with the wrong perk makes it obvious you're just being dismissive.

Give me a world where a solo queue team is coordinated, all near a TV when they turn on, the Sadako isn't near one of those survivors when they grab a tape, or where half the team doesn't grab tapes and I'll believe you.
Only issue is, you will never be able to. Condemn Sadako is entirely too powerful against Solo Queue, and there is not a single thing you can say that will change my mind. I cannot control the other players, I cannot make them stop "complaining" and neither can you. If you wanna keep arguing for an easy kill playstyle, go ahead, but it's clear we're not going to come to any sort of constructive agreement, so I'm done.
Have a good day.
I offer the advice I do to help people learn, instead of knee jerk calling everything OP in early days. The more people adapt, the better solo q becomes. This happens every time a killer requires any secondary objective, and people eventually (mostly) adapt.

@NomiNomad said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3502959#Comment_3502959
Show me a game where that happens and I'll agree with you.
In every game I've played against her, that does not happen.
Not only that, that counter is thrown out the window if she has Iri Tape.
It doesnt happen because everyone would rather complain than take a damn tape. We're going in circles.
As for the Iri addon, it doesnt change the fact that she needs to smack each person once to get rid of their tape. Its not about turning it in as much as it is being a talisman protecting you from passive condemn gain. You only need to turn it in if you're at 4+ stacks. She's still an M1 killer at the end of the day, so loop her better if youre losing too many tapes.
-
@NomiNomad said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3502942#Comment_3502942
She chooses one, and what team of Solo Queue teamates are going to grab the tapes at the same time? Not one. You're right, Sadako's main issue is Solo Queue, which is the a majority of the games playerbase.
I have not seen a singel Sadako with those add-ons lose. Content Creators have gotten 4Ks with that build with one hand.
It makes her incredibly easy to play and get kills with against a majority of the Survivor playerbase. That is unhealthy, and anybody who can't see it is clearly biased.
Basekit, she is absolutely fine, perhaps even still weak. These add-ons should not be miles better than her rest. They enforce a boring, long game. It is not fun to get slugged over and over or scramble around the map constantly picking up your teamates.
tvs turn on at the same time at the start. it takes zero coordination for all 4 to grab a tape at the same time.
-
@Blueberry said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3502943#Comment_3502943
You always did well before because she was F tier and extremely bad. Without her condemn she is bad in every aspect that makes a good killer good. If we nerfed her condemn she would need massive buffs around the board.
TBF people were asking for her chase to get buffed and her condemn to get nerfed, bhvr just.... did the exact opposite.
-
@NomiNomad said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3502932#Comment_3502932
No, they are not fine. Comb takes all the guesswork away from Sadako, and just tells her where the survivor with a tape is. Iri Tape removes her biggest counter. It's really not that hard to follow a Survivor with a tape and just teleport to the TV they're running towards. So yes, they are stopping you from getting a TV.
if all 4 survivors grab a tape at the same time, how does comb help? The issue is from the lack of survivors adapting holding back the ones who do, just like it is with her in general. Its early days and the people in the back arent quite getting it yet, or worse, refusing to adapt.
-
@Adaez said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3502513#Comment_3502513
Ah yes, thank you for giving me the counter, because the Onryo cant just tunnel the survivor with a tape and condemn him,and by the time 1 or 2 gens are done, that survivor is fully condemned and survivors are left in a 3v1 situation at 3 gens if they're lucky :) foolish me smh
It takes 4 tape hits to condemn someone, and she's not tunneling them if she's teleporting to various places on the map. If your tape breaks just grab another, turn it in when you're over 4 stacks. Then grab another.
This is the part where you come up with some complaint to justify why thats not possible, because you refuse to adapt. If not, apologies in advance.

WoO is fine, it helps bridge the solo/swf gap in a healthy manner, hence its popularity. Its in line with perks like kindred/empathy/bond/etc.

Wrong. Games that outsell DBD manage to balance around better players while still selling to casuals.
Everyone seems to have this misconception games can't be balanced for multiple skill levels.

How do survivors hinder one another with camping & tunneling? The ability to play the game seems like it would have an enormous influence on QoL.
Sorry, I should have specified it'll be even better with the anti-camp mechanic coming soon. That said, Quality of Life is referring to adjustments that improve ease of use, I.E the hud update, off hook BT base, removing hook grabs, etc.

Also dcs are in an all time high just fyi.
griefing/sandbagging are against the ToS, which are your stated fallbacks for if hookicides were removed. and for the last time, there is no forcing when there is a disconnect button. All there is is the consequences of your own actions.

@DY86 said:

Bruh u simply do not get it. Lets say we take away hookicides. What then? People will just run at the killer and be killed anyway.
the devs will go outta their way, waste time getting rid of the 4% mechanics and rework a bunch of stuff in game to prevent hookicides and still not get rid of the “problem”. This will stay as is and it should tbh. Y’all just need to understand and accept this fact.
which are against ToS, so they should be reported and punished accordingly. Hookicides are only allowed because the devs refuse to put in a way to tell them apart. The "problem" is entitlement, which there is no cure for, so all you can do is discourage it (hence the penalty.) I understand plenty, and this is literally the only game I ever see such vehement defense of abusing ways to refuse to play, let alone openly skirting a penalty for doing so.
-
Why do you think the penalty was even put in place? Again, you are allowed to leave and the game doesnt even require pulling the plug or closing the process in task manager, there's a sanctioned way out... yet it comes with a penalty because it disrupts the game for other players. I dont understand why this community is so obsessed with taking their ball and leaving.
-
@DY86 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3497842#Comment_3497842
And take the penalty? Why?
Because you refuse to play out the match you agreed to by queuing up?
-
@DY86 said:
Every once in a while posts like this are made and every time I say the same thing:
- U should not be forced to be in a match u dont wanna be
- Now more than ever there are ways to take the game hostage (i.e. Skull Merchant 3 genin at 5 gens) and you should have a way out
- and most importantly in a 1v2 scenario you should be able to ######### on hook to give the other player a chance to find the hatch right away.
- The devs themselves already said they are not gonna force someone be in a match so u should just drop it
points 1-4: There is a DC button, use it if you refuse to play. Take your penalty for refusing to see the match through and let a bot take over.

I think you have no clue about arachnophobia. It's not just Spiders scares you. So it's not about horror part.
For example, i know Spiders can't hurt me. So they are not scaring me. But i can't look them directly. It affects me so badly. Makes me puke.
That's why games are usually using arachnophobia mode for people who is getting effect by them. Or someone is making mods, so people can play these games without issue.
best arachnophobia mod ive seen is for nioh 2, turns all spideys into Dragon Quest slimes :D
Sadly I dont see such a mod happening in this game

Right, so lets look at the killers we have in the game. Some people are afraid of clowns, why don't we have a thing for that? Some people get sick at the sight of vomit, why is plague not a problem? Some people (someone i know actually) gets really creeped out by anything medical related, even the sight of a doctor (you know the killer?) can scare this person. Some people (someone else i know very well) are heavily afraid of zombies. Yet nemesis is fine.
So why aren't there modes to deal with those killers?
We should have things for each of them, i've even advocated for it in the past. A friend of mine cant play against the plague at all.
Spiders are a bit different since there isnt a spider killer yet, so its more preventative than reactionary.

The devs refuse to put in any measures to tell hookicides apart from legit kobe attempts/missed skill checks. they are unable to tell them apart internally.

Yeah, how terrible it would be to have something in a horror game be scary....
Its not as much about beig scary as it is a very common phobia, one that can nope people out of games entirely. Its more than just discomfort for some people and the entity toes the line enough as it is.
