What would that actually accomplish as a grief, though? Wasting the killer's offerings and addons? I guess it's the same as 'bing bong your item is gone' Franklins killers who immediately DC, but I think most players would be more nonplussed than angry to have four survivors instantly fall down and end the match. Like… that's pretty funny.
Not that I'm mourning the finisher mori PTB. Please let it stay buried.
But the bing bong ends with a DC so they are already receiving the penalty by default

Not being able to transfer DLC is understandable

-Prestige level for characters

-Bloodpoints and iri shards
-Cosmetics that were bought in the shop, obtainable by codes and rifts/events -

A survivor glues himself to a gen and refuses to move an inch, while failing every skillcheck, until he is grabbed and hooked. After unhook he proceeds to do the same. Your move, mr. Iron Curtainer? Will you now report players for doing gens?
Another one: a survivor gets into killer's sight and predrops every pallet before moving to the next one, dying when there are no more pallets left to waste. Your move? Report for "low looping skill"? This one is even more dangerous, as not only you lose a teammate, but half of the pallets as well. But of course it's none of your concern, since you only look at the situation from the killer's perspective.
Thats my biggest point when I talked about harder penalties is not a good idea
Remove hook suicide and players will do that, then you are playing a match that you have 0 chance to win, whats the point? Won't you rather go next instead of wasting your time with a match that pretty much its guaranteed you are gonna lose?
Instead of punishing players for not playing a game, people need to figure out why these players don't want to play the game in the first place

I mean, yeah?
You just admitted you're intentionally tanking matches because you don't like a killer. Even if we assumed Skull Merchant has no skill expression - provably false as a statement - that'd just mean you're both a problem. Factoring in that you are wrong about that statement, that leaves just you being the problem.
Well, considering you are using a SM profile picture I dont expect a different opinion lol

Yes, and I will still contribute to that until they either remove her from the game or completely change her powers
Thank you

BHVR just needs to remove the ability for survivors to kill themselves on hook. The downsides of it existing far exceed any benefits.
If someone saves me against SM, I will just run around the map doing totems and chests, and play badly if I get chased

Remote hook does not counter saves or DS. I've been regularly doing all of them on pick ups. If you're missing them, then your timing is off. Once the remote hook animation has begun the save will not work.
It does counter, and it also bugs the game

I consider it irrational tho.
There doesn't exist a reason why you would hate her so much that is unique for her.
No matter what you say is bad about her, I can find a killer than is exactly same in that aspect.
She is way more manageable for survivors compare to first version in my opinion.
I don't really consider her a threat when we play against her. Simply because I wouldn't allow anyone in my group DC regularly.
If you don't have an issue with her stealth, there is not much she has going on.
There are many reasons
-
Event is killer sided.
Only the "heal a health state" is slight survivor sided, if they play correctly. But still devastating if the killer finds an already healthy survivor.
The haste power is absolutely killer sided
The chests barely do anything
The party pallets is extremely easy to avoid and bunch of killers are coming to the match with Enduring and Hubris. Party pallets are only useful if survivors are playing with friends, but once again, we should never balance the game around SWF
Remote hook is really strong and denies the majority of chances for survivors, and saves up a lot of time for the killer
And breaking a pallet or a wall remotely is so broken it guarantees a hit on the survivorFor the event to be more on the "balanced" side, some powers should have been:
-The power of breaking a pallet or a wall should not exist
or
-Party pallets should not break themselves
Maybe with that it would have been fairly balanced
-
It never worked well
Killer can still camp with a generous distance
And the distance is even more of a joke if the map has two floors and elevations
Unfortunately its literally only "anti face-camp"
-
A seven day play streak to give rewards

nah

Hooks break = survivors running to those deadzones = more time for the killer to put the survivor on a hook = more time for teammates to do objectives

Because I'm bringing a perk?
Why do killers should have free aura reading on survivors? Why they should have free gen regression?

This is simply a great QoL change, no more annoying survivors dragging out matches.
No more survivors dragging out matches, but killers are still allow to do so?

But they pretty much recharge themselves. If you had to be within 32m of the killer for 120 seconds or something, that would be more fair. You'd have to be running 3-4 aura perks and using all of them pretty efficiently to burn 6-12 tokens (I see 2-4 Distortions per game now) and keep them down reliably.
And it's not helped by the fact that they completely gutted Ultimate Weapon, which perhaps needed a nerf, but didn't need to be completely obliterated from the game. What decent alternatives are there?
They should be much harder to recharge. Lucky Break gives an effect that would be OP if you could reliably use it an infinite number of times, but instead, you have to work to get it back.
Alternatively, you start with five tokens, but you can only recharge up to one token. That gives you a heavy advantage as a survivor in the early game without completely destroying the majority of the killer's perks on certain builds.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3744670#Comment_3744670
Except now you have a meta that revolves around 2-4 survivors running Distortion and hiding in unintuitive places all game any time they hear a terror radius and 3-4 survivors running anti-tunneling perks and bodyblocking.
I'm finding that four chase perks works better in the current meta than four aura perks or even four gen perks.
I also strongly disagree that you can burn through them reliably. If you're running 3-4 aura perks and an aura addon and using them all very consistently, yeah, maybe, but then you don't have room for anything else. Which might not be a big deal if you're playing Nurse, but some killers really suffer without chase and gen perks.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3744687#Comment_3744687
On the contrary, running a full aura build is the only way to counter Distortion, and some killers can't do that and still be viable. I don't necessarily want to run four aura perks; one might be fine if I didn't have to worry about 2-4 players ignoring it every game. It shouldn't make an entire class of perks unviable for lower-tier killers; that's just bad game design.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3744679#Comment_3744679
That is an excellent point. Survivors who don't run Distortion tend to get tunneled out rather quickly in a lot of my games, not just because I intentionally want to target them, but because I can't find anyone else without checking every bush within a 30m radius of every active gen for a Blendette (who get to keep charging their tokens while I do).
"That is an excellent point. But this argument doesnt make much sense either. If someone is willingly gonna use Distortion to hide from the killer, it probably means they are not comfortable enough with their looping skills, therefore if they are not hiding they are dying, and not contributing much to the match. I much rather have someone in my team running Distortion to focus on the objective and leaving the killer interactions to the people more comfortable with. This argument of "distortion users just hide" doesnt make any sense anymore. Maybe in a killer's perspective, but not in a survivor one. And too bad if you are unintentionally tunneling, or maybe not too bad, because anyone could do that regardless if a perk is being used in the game or not.

Which skill, exactly? Going for the second closest hook instead of the first? lol
You can play every single killer by just going to the first hook you see and you'll do just fine. It isn't deeper than that. This isn't the killer buff you're making it out to be, lmao.
We also don't know the Scourge Hook interaction yet, and even if Scourge Hooks respawned as Scourge Hooks, it wouldn't be strong either. But keep advocating for mechanics that promote slugging, I guess. Everyone's got their own opinions.Just read a previous post

Ngl, if a Survivor had Boil Over and Flip Flop, even if they are the last Survivor, and they kept intentionally running to a deadzone to prevent being hooked, they are going to be bled out or killed by EGC instead of actually being hooked.
This change realistically improves the situation since it helps all players move onto the next match and prevents the Survivor from wasting my time out of sheer pettiness.
But how about when theres still other survivors left and the Flip Flop Boil Over is actually wasting the killer's time whilst the teammates are doing gens/gates?
-
@PreorderBonus said:
There is literally no skill involved in having hooks get destroyed permanently. It’s a feature whose only purpose is to be annoying and to force the killer to slug, a product of 2016 DBD.
DBD isn’t a competitive game. If the last survivor runs to a dead zone, it’s only to be annoying and to drag out the match. The fewer opportunities there are to do this, the healthier the game will be.
And yes, killers who want to slug will slug; literally no one said otherwise. This is just a step in the right direction. The next one should be allowing survivors to speed up the bleeding.
Not to mention that punishing the killer for killing survivors is stupid game design in the first place. It’s like if completed generators revealed the aura of survivors nearby. It makes no sense at all.
There is skill and I already mentioned scourge hooks

So are we talking about balancing the game around SWF again?
Maybe solo queue should not be a thing anymore and survivors should only play a match if they are in a lobby with 3 other friends, then the game can be balanced around everything
Is it a good idea? For how long will the game survive I wonder?

They take it away when it matters most. When I'm on a gen and Mindbreaker is active then Alert (which let's me know which direction the killer is headed or coming from) is useless. Empathy, which is handy at letting me know exactly where a team mate is being chased or if they're around for a heal exchange, no longer gives me the info I want. Mindbreaker lasts the entire time I'm doing my objective, which is a good chunk of my time, and UW for 30s a time.
And on the flipside, if you're running 4 aura perks then you'll be eating through Distortion stacks fast so your perks aren't useless indefinitely either.
Mindbreaker counters Alert, Empathy, Bond, Any Means Necessary (you can see where the survivor is dropping pallets which means the killer should be there), Trail of Torment/Blast Mine, Fogwise, Object of Obsession, Deja Vu, probably a few more

I dont think so.
What should be reduced is the RNG for Hooks. There should be SOME RNG, but not as extreme as it can be currently. You sometimes have one Hook in a huge area and thats it and sometimes you have 3 Hooks so close together that the Survivors might be holding hands on them.
So the solution should be to have 2 Hooks which allow the Killer to hook even if one of them is gone or already "occupied", but also makes saves still possible and does not grant the Killer insane pressure just because they got lucky with Hook Spawns.
A good example for this is Midwich. Sometimes you have one Hook in a hallway and sometimes you have 3 or 4 in the same hallway. (Because of this I think they should remove Hook-RNG from Midwich, because the RNG for Pallets and so is also not really there, so making Midwich more consistent is the way to go)
In general, I think they can reduce the RNG on Maps. RNG was important when there were only 3 Realms with 4 or 5 Maps each. Now we have so many Realms and Maps that it is not really needed to have a huge RNG-factor to make games feel different.
@Topic:
I dont really see a connection here. And I dont think Flip Flop needs changes. But I am always for a Boil Over-Rework, since the Perk is just weak unless it is used in a specific Build to be annoying.
When Flip Flop is useful when used by itself with no wiggle perks?
-

Yeah I agree on that. I’m ok with the respawn but I think a respawned scourge hook in this instance should revert to a normal hook
Another survivor skill expression being nerfed
The killer has Pain Resonance, and I know a hook in the corner is one of the scourge hook, I am death hook and other teammates have not been hooked yet. I run to that corner and force the killer to hook me in one of the scourge hooks, and now the rest of the game theres only 3 hooks left
Yeah, no more skilled plays by survivors anymore, as the days go the tendency is to remove all of them I guess

If your build is built around aura reading, one single perk actually just makes you perkless. What killer perk can do the same with whole survivor builds?
But your build is a choice of yours
Also, there are a few aura perks that eats up Distortion tokens by a lot, such as Gearhead, Eruption and the new Weave Attunement

Sure, I can't disprove a subjective opinion. I'm just surprised you'd consider Knight to have fun counterplay considering the only thing you really do is hold W against the guards, or maybe go for a banner-grab.
Is it more about leveraging the AI bugs or something?
I have much more fun with Knight, even though the killer is already at the bottom of the "fun" meter
Its fun to bait a pallet drop and force the Knight to send a guard for the break purpose
Its fun to pretend to go to a direction and then change to the other whilst the guard is being sent
Its fun to take the guard chase from your teammate being chased by the Knight
Its fun to rotate the loops and grab the banner
Knights chase music is good, the banner horn sound is fun
What about Skull Merchant?
Boring, boring, boring, boring, I rather die

I'll jump in here and say, if we change a perk it's because we feel that it needs changing - one person does not have the power over changes. We listen to feedback from all parts of the community.
Please stop blaming Otz for game changes that you don't personally like, the man is a content creator, and a very good one. He creates content and gives feedback on the game, however that doesn't mean that his feedback is listened to above everyone else - we listen and read pretty much everything.
If you guys ever nerf Distortion (it will happen, we all know it), heres my suggestion
Nerf Distortion back to 3 tokens max and not regain tokens by terror radius
and nerf aura reading altogether by only showing the auras of healthy survivors -

Line of sight blocking, crouching, and not greeding loops are all good ways of countering Skull Merchant in chase.
I mostly want to respond because… what is Knight's counterplay in chase? Just run away from the guard…? Abuse a couple weird AI bugs?
I don't even hate Knight, I just think it's kind of silly to highlight his kind of generic counterplay while claiming the killer with more options to choose from doesn't have any at all.
