I kind of hate the new forum. It's a tad harder to navigate, the "new" icons on posts are black on a VERY dark grey background instead of the old bright red, the side bar for moving to "my discussions" and whatever else (it's gone so idk) is now not as prevalent (something similar is in the categories page). Hopefully they roll it back or make the actual layout nearly identical to the old one with it just being a visual update instead of a UI nightmare.

She is only one foot and a half taller than nemesis so I think that she would have no issues .
Even if she would maybe animation wise she does a brief crouch when going through a doorway and the actual killer camera would be in her neck.

I really hope it doesn't go Free 2 Play. At least not without like a separate game mode that only the paid people can access. Like making a perkless, base killer (Trapper, Billy, Nurse, Huntress etc), peer to peer (so dedicated servers aren't wasted on the F2P peeps), non licensed maps mode that free people can play. And then having the current game be a mode behind the paywall of the full game. That way people can experience the game for free but I don't have to worry about an influx of cheaters to my normal play. If this game goes full free to play without the best anti cheat on planet EARTH I stop playing. EAC is FAR from that btw.

Mock up image for the chapter concept. Gonna add it to the top of the post.

I like creativity with the new status effect. Personally, I would rather the exit gate regression effect be an added effect of the Remember Me perk.
My problem with current NOED is that it is an endgame perk, but is not earned like other endgame perks, and gives a strong effect for something unearned throughout the trial. My idea for a rework involves Scourge Hooks:
Scourge Hook: No One Escapes Death
- At the start of the trial, 4 random hooks are changed into Scourge Hooks
- The auras of Scourge Hooks are revealed to you in white
- When a survivor is hooked on a Scourge Hook for the first time before the exit gates are powered, the following effects apply:
- When the exit gates are powered, the survivor's aura will be revealed for 4 seconds, and the survivor will suffer from the exposed status effect for 40/50/60 seconds
This way, only survivors that have been previously hooked on Scourge Hooks will be exposed during the endgame as the killer would have earned that before the exit gates were powered.
This is a pretty cool idea. I have something similar that keeps it as a Hex that I was going to add to a mega post soon. Basically only survivors you've hooked before are affected by NOED. Possibly in the vain of Terminus it lasts until the exit gates are opened, and lingers for 30 seconds after they have been opened. Then NOED returns to a dull totem.

For sure, for sure. I actually wouldn't mind a third RE chapter, though I think it'd be more thematic if it focused on "modern" RE instead. Then you'd have "classic" RE with Nemesis, the midway point of RE with Wesker, and then something from 7/8 for the resurgence of the franchise.
Of course, I'd be happy with basically anything, I just love RE lol
An RE8 chapter would be welcome from me. I just prefer RE4 and I'm really excited for the remake. The village would also make a decent map I think. In the trailer Leon legit vaults a fence and a window, which could be made into vaults for DBD purposes.

They did, but in the reveal trailer they made a big deal of showing how you can never see Ethan's face, he'll always turn away from you. There is no official way of seeing Ethan's face and Capcom are very explicit about doing that intentionally, for whatever reason.
To the wider topic, I'd love to see Ashley in the game. I'd been thinking about more RE content myself, though I was considering how cool a Donna Beneviento skin would be for Twins if they could get it to change Victor into Angie.
They could do pretty much anything I mentioned in the chapter part of the concept as skins instead. A 3rd RE chapter is unlikely but we could totally get more legendary skins.

I don’t really don’t wanna get another RE chapter - if new RE content then as cosmetics and legendary skins (like your Dr Salvador suggestion)
and if we still go another chapter I also see it more likely that it will be from 7 or 8..
also I want Moira as a surv - would probably best fit as a Rebecca skin!
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3286070#Comment_3286070
Haven’t they even added a third person view for RE 8? Haven’t look into gameplay or anything at all but shouldn’t you be able to see the face that way anyways?
That's fair. The main reason I made the post was the Dr. Salvador idea actually. Although I do genuinely want an RE4 chapter.
On the note of Ethan, in the 3rd person mode you're still not really supposed to see Ethan's face. They made it so he looks away. You can end up getting a pretty solid angle but I still think adding him would be a bad fit because you're not SUPPOSED to. His face has been revealed. We know what he looks like. It's just thematically not something they would or really should do at this point.

Maybe he'll be less shy in dbd. They could give him a perk as a joke to reflect this. Hide his aura or something like that.
Could do. I'd rather RE4 stuff myself but I can't deny Lady Dimitrescu is the big money choice. I was somewhat surprised that Wesker wasn't her because we initially just knew it was a Resident Evil crossover again.

I think it is far more likely that RE Village chapter would be the next thing. When it comes to profits that is , because ...Lady Dimitrescu... players will buy her twice as much as Wesker. Hell , maybe even thrice as much. Makes sense.
Probably. I wouldn't mind that if it was done well. Who could they do for survivors in that though? Ethan wouldn't be a great fit because of his face situation. Rose maybe?
-
To my knowledge, Deadlock is the best perk for this. But if the survivors are smart they can even play around it. And they can just do other gens so :/
A full anti genrush build I think would be Deadlock, Erruption, Bitter Murmur and the new perk No Where to Hide. Maybe switch one of those out for overcharge or merciless storm if you think you're at an MMR where people aren't GODLIKE on skill checks. As someone who rarely messes up merciless storm checks I can't ever justify running it. If I assume the survivors I'm facing are at least as good as me then I'm wasting a perk slot. I usually do decent at overcharge checks once I know the killer is running it and can expect it.
If you're asking strictly how to stop gen rushing strategy only just "pressure gens lmao". Jokes aside I don't think there's anything more specific to do.
-
I'd swap monstrous for either another gen slowdown or lethal pursuer, and then replace BBQ with I'm all ears.
-
He's really strong, easier to play than Nurse and Blight and is over all dumb fun. He's actually a killer I feel comfortable running less slow down on because of how good he is.
As someone who mostly plays survivor, I never complain when it's a Wesker. Sometimes the matches with him can be a tad dull, but only sometimes.
-
It's nice that the game continues to get new content, especially content that can be experienced for free. But the fact is they really haven't been putting their best foot forward. Instead of implementing features and changes everyone wants they release buggy, sometimes weak poorly designed killers.
I'd nominate them if by now they had added some kind of soloq help (hud icons showing what survivors are doing maybe), removed healthy hook grabs (at least during mid match, end game collapse might not be so bad) and make power charges decrease upon long proximity to hook, buffs for the weaker more fun to face killers and for god's sake nurse nerfs/rework.
I'm not going to be so entitled to claim anything like "There's NO excuse for this". I'm sure they're very busy with what they ARE working on but I mean come on. I really hope that after the killer we get early next year they spend the next 2 chapter cycles on just QOL.

I like the idea of it having SOME functionality during stage 2. But it shouldn't let you get yourself off. Maybe slowed hook timer? Easier skill checks? No skill checks? But only if you got a safe unhook after getting hooked the first time.

Seems like a befitting idea to me.

No word from the devs. Personally I hope the Mori rework ends up being something else entirely. Ideally something that doesn't mess with Devour Hope or Rancor and scraps basekit Unbreakable in favor of BUFFING the weaker anti slug perks like No Mither, Exponential and Soul Guard instead.
Really I think they should just make Cypress Memento Mori basekit and have it work somewhat similar to the system we saw in the PTB. But instead of starting automatically (because that kills giving the last survivor hatch) you still have to manually do it. And THEN it does the screen wipe and map teleport. But the other Mori's work the same.
-
Wish the devs would give some word on this. I'm eagerly waiting for support.

3 out is a win for survivors, stop bodyblocking and fighting to get that last survivor out.You don’t have to be a greedy winner.3 escape leave the 4th survivor.
Nah once you get to the body blocking point the killer already lost that survivor. That's the same as the point where the killer closes hatch and the last shred of hope is with the exit gate.
@RonMan32 said:

Yeah actually. Getting the 4th the killer is camping on hook is often a slippery slope and could easily turn into a 3k. I always advocate for just taking the 3 man if the save isn't looking too easy. But just like as killer I still try for the hatch we still TRY to get that 4th escape. I play both roles. You don't need a 4k, nor do you need a 4 man. Everyone is free to go for the 4k and the 4 man escape but if you're going to slug to prevent hatch and then complain about the game being stale you have lost all perspective.
See this message for more about that.
Also despite my opinion wins as killer and survivor don't translate over 1:1. A 4 man escape is 4 individual people winning and escaping, while a 3 man is 3 winning and 1 losing. With kills a 3 and a 4k are both wins for one person. These kinds of statements lack perspective and reek of "killer main".
On a tangent, as a few other people have said in this thread. You have to EARN the 4k. The OP didn't earn the 4k even tho he claims he did because part of the point of hatch is to give a final roadblock for the maximum win.
It's also worth noting that I'm mainly objecting this crows mechanic suggested here. While I personally don't approve of slugging for the 4k, if you want the 4 man go for it. If they want the escape tho they can still hide. So either side can make the choice to un-stale the gameplay.

but like- why hand out a free escape to the last survivor? why reward him for playing badly and hiding? Giving hatch to decent survivors that were good in chase and got 4 / close to 5 gens done: sure! But giving hatch to players that didnt earn it is wrong - also the slugging wouldnt even be necessary if the last survivor would actually engage in the game which they are not doing.
That's not what I was implying. You kill the 3rd survivor and then find and close the hatch. If they get it before you, big deal. Again, despite what people might believe it is way easier for Killer to find hatch. So you don't GIVE it to them, they get lucky or you TAKE it from them. I never spoke about handouts. The hatch is not a handout unless you straight up do that yourself and don't search for it. The hatch is very RNG based but you've still gotta earn it over the killer.

Amazing. So you'd agree that survivors wanting to get 4 out instead of 3 is equally petty and greedy? That it's all about their egos and being entitled?

the perk resets all tokens if any survivor is put into dying state. for example, if you hit 2 survivors, you will gain 2 tokens, but as soon you down a survivor. the 2 tokens are reduced reset to 0.
You have to injure 4 survivors. The 5th injury would instead result in an instant down encouraging hit & run play style.
Oh well you wanna turn every killer into Legion. This will also be really good on Legion. Idk about that either chief.

@BrianOfJudea said:
it could work as a hex but would still be insane on some killers
I dunno if I'd call that INSANE since Devour Hope only needs 3 stacks. Granted those stacks are harder to get.
I'd say yeah either make it a Hex or make the tokens based off putting survivors into the DYING state not injured.
-
You don't need a 4k. A 3k is a win. Slugging for the 4k is equally as stale, if not more so. Don't be a sore greedy winner. Hook the 3rd survivor and if you find hatch, great. If you don't, no biggie it was RNG.
The 4th person getting hatch is not a real issue that needs to be addressed. Your ego just can't handle less than a 4k apparently. You're free to slug for now. But that's YOU creating the stale gameplay, not the game. You hooking the 3rd survivor and this tense "who is gonna find hatch first?" is WAY less stale but no you'd rather guarantee the 4k. 20% of the time is really a you issue btw. You're faster and have no need to hide, it's WAY more likely the killer finds hatch first.

Love his Pyramid Head and Wesker changes.
His Deathslinger changes don't seem like enough and I don't think he belongs in the "mostly fine" category because he is NOT but I agree with the 28 m TR. Auto reload on hook doesn't seem helpful enough to be an add-on and also isn't a big enough problem in the first place to be basekit either. Reloading before pick up or just after hook isn't the end of the world. What I'd do instead is make his movement speed while reloading slightly faster.
-
I think he could use changes but a lot of these ideas suck.
"Removed the ringing sound that survivors hear when deathslinger aims on them."
Why?? It's not even that useful. If anything it should be slightly more noticeable and should stay.
"Increased the projectile speed to 55 m/s (was 40 m/s)."
It's plenty fast. Maybe 45 m/s would be nice but it has to still be dodge-able come on.
"Incresed the reload Movement speed to 4.0 m/s or 100 % (Was 2.64 m/s or 66 %)."
This is unnecessary. Maybe they could make it a tad faster like 70% but it isn't even remotely related to what is "wrong" with 'slinger.
As for the add-ons I don't think add-ons should effect ADS speed. ADS speed should just be increased a hair and leave it at that. A bunch of these also just seem OP like the hindered on someone you're aiming at.
All in all the only thing I agree with is his TR should be 28 m and that he could use a rework/buff in general but not one like this.
-
Hook grabs on healthy survivors are the main thing really. Outrageous those are still in. I think just that would go a long way against all killers other than Bubba. Bubba's chainsaw should just disable after they've been close to the hook for too long.
Camping should be made less viable, and perks that encourage hooking everyone/staying away from hooks should be buffed. Things like devour hope, no way out and grim embrace. They're the kind of perks that make "playing by survivor rules" actually viable. Tunneling and camping with those is wasting perk value.
-
Oni is just better Billy. And Blight is... IDK better Oni?
I recently came to that realization. His power is functionally very similar.
-
I've seen this suggested before. It's a great idea really but I dunno if they'd implement it in a world where we DON'T get these upcoming Mori changes since you wouldn't see them as often in the current system. In a world where the Mori changes actually come (ours) this would be sick.
-

Ditto. Not a charm. Weapon for Plague.

I might as well be a survivor main but I do like killer. My main issue that keeps me from playing killer more is it feels like often I'm in higher MMR than I should be and get my ass beat by a 2k hour swf (I have just over 400 hours). I'd say I do a killer match for every 6 survivor matches.
I don't mess with meta slowdown or top tier killers tho so going into a match expecting to win as 'slinger with sloppy, dms, tinker and jolt is a tad optimistic I suppose.
All of that said % wise I get more 3/4ks than more than 2 man escapes.
-
Most perks people call to be basekit should not be basekit. Perks either address a weakness/act as a counter to the other side, or just do something generally helpful. Getting that for free isn't a great plan most of the time. People want shattered hope as basekit. Shattered hope is a HARD COUNTER to boons. Boons would be worthless. Basekit unbreakable in the new Mori system seems like it could wreck havoc on the game's design.
At the end of the day, perks help survivors escape and killers get kills. They are created as just that, to help in specific ways. You get to choose 4 helpers, the rest is on you. Very few perks fit the bill of help that either side should just have anyway.
All of that said I'm a supporter of a dumbed down basekit corrupt and basekit kindred. Maybe something that isn't exactly basekit BBQ but points you in the general direction of survivors after getting a hook would be nice.
-
I'm happy to bump this. I think DBD in bed or on the go could be fun. (DBD mobile stinky, no Deathslinger.) My deck is awesome but the game I've been playing a lot lately isn't on it so I don't use the thing.
-

I'm disappointed with the Wesker skin but mainly because when I heard we were getting a Blighted skin for him I figured it'd be a good chance to give us a shirtless Wesker. It'd be in the vain of how he looks at the end of RE5 but with Blight goo.
-
Agreed. I've said this in a few posts elsewhere. Should have already been done really.
-
That last proposed change and the "until reinjure" seems a bit much. I think increasing the duration and removing the range limit would be all it needs. Maybe even add another status effect like exhausted for 15 seconds if you leave the radius of your "partner".

One thing better than Huntress? You joking?
- He can shoot faster than Huntress. Considerably faster. Plus Huntress’s hatchets aren’t reliable unless charged which takes about three seconds.
- He does not have to visit lockers. Huntress often has to break from chases to reload. DS just reloads mid chase.
- Despite what some of yall are saying here, Deathslinger deals with Hold W gamers waaaay better than Huntress. His ADS isn’t the same but still functions as a massive catch up mechanic. Even moving at 80% speed while holding ADS, most survivors will spin/juke in place. So they are moving at 0% during fakeouts.
- DS does not have a lullaby. (His terror radius sucks. No argument; the one area I would buff.) Buuut. This opens his perk kit to undetectable/oblivious perks. He is also naturally quiet.
- He utilizes STBFL way better than most killers. With his difficult chase to deal with mixed with a shorter cooldown, he’s extremely strong in chase.
The only advantage I have to concede to Huntress is she can injure multiple survivors in a shorter span than DS could. There should however be zero argument that DeathsLinger’s chase is one of the strongest in the game. I consider him to have the second best chase after Nurse.
I agree with a lot of your points. It's why I like him so much. But here's the thing, he has advantages over Huntress sure. But overall Huntress is better. 2nd best chase in the game can't POSSIBLY be even close to the truth either.
The Redeemer is solid zoning, anti loop, and even anti-chase by bring a survivor who was MILES away from you right to you, negating the need to catch up first, shortening the chase. But it doesn't come close to the likes of the mobility of Blight, Nurse and even Wesker. I love him to death(slinger) but you're giving his power way too much credit. The hitbox for the barb is TINY, which is good for these amazing hole plays but bad for hitting survivors at range compared to the hatchets. Frankly I don't think any 4.4 killer can even been in the same league as the chase of most of the 4.6 killers.
I think he could use a few more tweaks at least. A full rework to bring him up a tier, although I agree with the idea that not all killers need to be AMAZING.
