the gameplay is WAY better compared to before but maps are still A HUGE problem in the game. It has always been a problem but now the game is slightly better than what it used to be. c'mon BHVR focus on map balance next please. Stop giving RNG for survivors and giving them REALLY powerful resources where at times it's impossible to even get 1 hook on them dependent on the map. Seriously there was a match I played on Ormond I couldn't hook a single survivor because of the back to back tiles and pallets. It was insane and BORING!

Hard agree there is a huge difference between say Shelter woods, then Eyerie of crows. It's kind of infuriating tbh.

Plus on survivor side you have no elevations on some maps making Balanced Landing worthless.

    Title.

Without his passive he is a bottom 3 Killer, and a Killer should NOT be carried nor relevant because of something that requires no effort on their behalf.

Huntress has to hit hatchets, Trapper has to plan where he places his traps, Leatherface has to be careful not to hit things with his Chainsaw, Blight has to learn map collisions, etc etc

Pinhead? His power just exists for free, and it is an extremely unfun one at that.

    Very poorly designed Killer.

He is the new Freddy I feel, where loads of casual people who cba to do much interaction gravitate to. easily my least favourite killer in the game not because of how strong he is, just how annoying his power and his passives are. There are cases when opening the box its impossible. I hate how he is animated, I hate how he functions, I hate how he synergises with slowdown, I hate being in chases with him. He isn't scary, just lame.

Literally zzzzzzzz, my petty rant for the day lol

  • @Nathan13 said:

Prove thyself and toolboxes are not an issue cause gen speeds a take a little longer now. With all the legion/plague Thana games, you can’t blame survivors for using them.

If a killer isn't running slowdown, they are very very much an issue lol, the point of this thread is to get people to understand its an issue on both sides.

  • @PBsamichShoe said:

DH didn't just get nerfed. Killers also got buffed across the board in chase and camping and tunneling got buffed. They also gutted every single survivor perk that was reasonably useful.

DH was not the only thing that got changed.

I like the new dh I just think making it 0.5 was a bit overkill with the latency of the game, it's so unpredictable it should have been left at 1 second, plus the animation is longer than the actual effect... it's laughable how half assed the change was.

    My experience is not nonsense.

Gens are 10% slower. Ten measly percent, and yet you're all refusing to repair them and screwing over the rest of the team, or evidently just refusing to play the game at all. It's petty, entitled and childish.

"B-b-b-but Thanataphobia!" was buffed by TWO PERCENT.

"Killers using slowdown!" All of which besides Thana and Overcharge were nerfed.

Those two changes affect each other y'know, ever heard of scaling? lol With gen speeds being increased slow down gets more value, it's not hard to understand.

So your experience is nonsense, because I for one like the new DH lol I just hate slowdown.

  • @Marigoria said:

I understand the game is not easy right now for solo players, specially not with the amount of killers that are stacking slowdowns and camping/tunneling in the majority of games, but please stop giving up so early.

Since the update came out I think 90% of my matches have had at least one person suicide/disconnect at 4/5 gens, and gens taking so long to repair it's impossible to escape in a 3v1.

My escape rate right now is at easily 15-20% and it sure is not because of "dead hard" since I didn't even use it before the update, but because most of my games end up in a 3v1 at 4/5 gens or everyone just slugged at the same time.

It's ok to not like these changes and how tedious doing gens is right now, but take that into account before loading up into a game and ruining the last bit of it for everyone else who is still trying their best.

I completley agree with this, but I feel there is some killers people just cannot be bothered with honestly and I can't blame them. Legions rework paired with these changes is the most insufferable thing I have experienced in this game. The person responsible for the legion rework I hope learns from this, because they've encouraged such an excruciating playstyle, all while making addons like legion pin punish solo queue instead of SWFs like it used to, and making it SUPER easy to chain hits because it lasts so long now, and this is coming from someone who loves my Robbie Rabbit Legion.

Maybe, but it's an asymmetrical game, Survivors and Killers can't be equal

Yeah exactly. a problem by any other name still needs a solution. We don't need smoke and mirrors to understand that.

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3081631#Comment_3081631

No. Survivors can't have stacking Endurance Perks because there's 4 of them. If every chase consisted of 3-5 Health States, not even Nurse would be able to win

It's LITERALLY the meaning of double standards.

  • @fulltonon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3081651#Comment_3081651

I mean, shouldn't it help you wiggling out? two hooks spawning this close means other hooks being farther than usual, right?

No there is usually one at every corner of the digger, then one in every tile, then one between each tile these days

  • @Anara said:

Im a survivor main, playing killer sometimes. Im playing since 2018. I think the game has never been fair like this patch.

The changes are good. The new meta is way more interesting, less frustrating and more skillful.

Thank you devs for listening to us.

I cant wait to see whats coming next.

Dbd is so much fun and its fair now, thank you again.

You don't even list what the "meta" is lmao

  • If I see someone bring a coldwind offering, I always know my wiggle build is not going to work LOL

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

Because they're 2 completely different types of Perks?

You mean because it's double standards, lmfao

  • @Darkest_Night said:

You can't bully killers like you used to. The base meta kit to bully killers was gutted. And you hate it. The extra 10 seconds? Forcing you to cooperate instead of antagonizing the killer into chasing you. The 2% cooldown on attacks? Forces you to pick your unhook time a bit better. The increased bloodlust accrual? Forces you to try and and get creative in losing us for a chase.

    Because you can't bully killers into quitting anymore, many are throwing a fit. However, look at this patch like this;

It gives everyone experimentation amd freedom to practice characters and perks they've never tried because of the previous Meta.

IDK it sounds like you're antagonizing too lol

I feel like there is truth to both sides, all the things that were changed as a collective are too much but a lot of it is necessary. As it is right now it's easy to do strats which are close to griefing still (Camping, tunnelling, slugging deliberatley just because you don't like a survivor), and the horrible networking this game makes us put up with causing jank hits for both sides.

We should be working together as a community to get rid of the things both sides are struggling with who need the help right now, Solo Q and Killers who deal with SWFs.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

What an odd yet super boring and probably not very effective method for people to "fake" stats to not get nerfed lol.

Yeah I mean they could be afk for different reasons, but IDK why you'd play a few seconds to go to the center of the map and afk there. It's like a trend

  • @YOURFRIEND said:

  • @VcatoV86 said:

Developers have been listening almost exclusively to killers. For years.

    Don't believe me?

1.) "Maps are too dark. I can't find Blendette!" Maps were redesigned and brightened.

2.) "Loops are too hard! They are godloops!" Almost* (all?) godloops were erased. Most decent loops were taken out as well.

3.) "Gens pop too quickly! I can't do anything!" Gen time was increased.

4.) "Hooks are too far apart! Survivors are abusing this!" Hooks were brought closer together.

5.) "Deadhard is too much! They get 2 seconds extra time in a chase/miss my hit (even though they gained exhaustion)!" DH was nerfed.

6.) "Decisive strike is not fair! If they are down, I deserve to get a hook!" DS was nerfed.

7.) "Flaslights are too OP! I can't play against them!" Flashlights were adjusted/overhauled.

8.) "Keys and hatches are not fair! I deserve to kill everyone!" Keys and hatch were nerfed.

Now before you say: "Well, killers were a little underwhelming and SWF was too strong"--I agreed! But gain some perspective on just how much the devs always, for years, have catered to the killers.

Complaining about forever Legion is the least of your concerns.

Maps being too dark, yet they bring out Haddonfield and Garden of Joys house... its like they forget and repeat past mistakes.

  • For me it's the how lag is rewarded with the new hit validation, laggy killers with the new changes makes it really hard to use any of the windows/pallets or anything when the killer is blatantly high ping.

So tired of being hit by tap m1's from full lunge range, juking is becoming harder and harder, and new DH is impossible with since it's effect is shorter than its animation.

effects that last 0.5s have no place in this horribly networked game.

  • @Canas said:

Every single time I try to play this killer I'm reminded of his blatant incompetence to deter survivors from completing their objective. He may be able to traverse the map at a high speed but he lacks any lethality to follow up with. What good is his power if it can't hinder or injure survivors? He even gets countered by a single flashlight, not even his great speed can outrun a source of light. This is some absurd gimmick from 2016 that has no room in the present day, remove this ridiculous handicap from him.

Next step should be to make the speedup to his cloaked actions part of his basekit without him needing to bring a green or purple addon every single time. Then you need to give him back his speedup after decloaking, without it he's completely unplayable. He's a 115% killer with no gapcloser or mindgame potential. You sincerely should consider making him the first 120% movespeed killer in the game if you're not going to return his speedup to him.

For the love of god, no amount of survivor nerfs can make this trash heap of a killer viable as long as the current map designs and basic human sense exist. He gets countered by pretty much everything.

Honestly until they fix their horrible hit validation, I don't think he needs any buffs to his speed that's for sure. The server can't keep up with high mobility as it is, maybe give him new power interactions instead. Maybe allow him to phase through body blocking in his stealth form, or a dash/teleport across the map like how Dredge/Sadako or maybe nurse (obviously he can't attack during it so it won't be as problematic).

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

Tunneling already allows for altruism, bodyblocking is tunneling's biggest counter, but I like the idea.

Maybe decrease the amount of Wiggle progress needed down to 12~ seconds for 30 seconds after getting unhooked. Would certainly help with tunneling, while still not making it so a single Survivor is able to wiggle off on their own

Like a wiggle speed buff duration? Yeah that seems more manageable (plus it won't cause a problematic stack with flip flop). I like this!

    @Seraphor said:

How about survivors who are unhooked start with a 99'ed wiggle meter, that decays over time? Say 99-0 in 30 seconds.

This could kinda work like a basekit DS, but it would be much more manageable, countered by things like Iron Grasp and Mad Grit, and of course it would more or less scale with the distance a survivor runs from the hook. if you downed them exactly 5.1s after they were unhooked, they be as close to the hook as possible, which would likely be just about the right time to get them to that hook with whatever wiggle meter they have remaining, basically making the timing tighter, but still possible to mess up or sabotage via body blocking.

yeah I was thinking it would sort of function like a baseline DS that isn't obnoxious, countering it would be possible but it would require a full build for it, which sacrifices slowdown. It would require strategy to pull off, but it might help encourage killers to go for a more viable target (the unhooker) more.

Boosted killers getting easy kills they don’t deserve.

Boosted survivors not able to last 3 seconds in a chase.

MMR not putting anyone where they are supposed to be

If it was just Dead hard that was nerfed none of this outcry would be happening.

    Devs did a big bad.

If you stun a killer and they have enduring they can m1 you if they end up on your side before you can vault now.... I love it /s :)))

That doesn't really explain extremely fast killer que though.

I feel everyone is forgetting SBMM is a thing and can affect your wait times. So playing a killer at a low mmr compared to playing one at high mmr could result in different wait times.

  • @RiskyKara said:

I stopped playing killer a long time ago because it was way too stressful and not fun at all. Today I tried a Slowdown Legion and it was honestly great.

Games were averaging 18 minutes (I set a timer.) I am not great at killer but I had a lot of time to compensate. I didn't feel the need to camp or tunnel, I was just more of less vibing. With all this time being killer feels very relaxed. Even if I lose I still feel like I went on some chases, made good decisions, and am ready to move onto the next one.

Much better than previously where a gen popped before my first down.

I'm running pop, thana, pain res, and overcharge.

I'm sure in a week though survivors will learn how to adapt and this won't be as effective though. For now it's nice.

I bet you would have enjoyed death garden as well.

  • @KaijuMoose said:

Its apparently very difficult to trust others to do generators and unhook in a timely manner. In fact, its so hard to hold m1 that people would rather kill themselves rather than do anything to actually make the game fun to play. I get that survivors can very often bully killers, but as a solo player who's just trying to play the game, this recent patch just makes the game wholly frustrating to play. Borrowed Time basekit was a great addition, but would it be possible to have Kindred or some other info perk become basekit for teammates so they don't just F around doing jack all game. Make solo survivor playable.

Way too many heavy handed changes to nerf chase, it's now hecking abysmal to run no exhaustion perks. They should not have made so many changes at once.

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

In a world without dead hard suddenly the "bad" killers are winning. Imagine that.

It's like people forget they reduced the hit speed boost, m1 cooldown and increased gen times also.

  • @Jinxed said:

Survivor was never as overpowered as the killer mains on this forum like to pretend. Dead Hard needed a nerf and gen speeds needed a small adjustment. Swf is a problem and remains a problem, so this patch has done nothing but hurt solo survivor.

This patch has been so heavy handed and the fact they proceeded to add MORE nerfs when they did their corrections. Gen speeds is one thing but nerfing baseline chase is insufferable. the BT baseline change makes zero difference. No one wants to sit on a gen for 2 minutes, the game is becoming a hold m1 simulator more and more every patch.

why the heck ruin the one good thing about dbd, the chases, it just doesn't make sense.

  • I'm a bit sad at Self-Care/Decisive not being reverted duration and healing speed wise, most the changes don't affect me since I don't use most the perks targetted. I wouldn't be surprised if most survivor players see this patch for what it is which is a blanket nerf across the board.

I feel like some of the changes from this patch won't remain, and some killers will be rebalanced around the new changes down the line... it feels like phase 1 of a larger plan.

There is a SLEW of things I would love to see done to Nurse that I know will never happen, and I think most people would appreciate them as fair changes from either side of the aisle:

    • Better stun logic on pallets
    • Better hit-dressing right out of blink (this really is an all killer thing but she feels it so bad and so do the survivors when it works against them)
    • DS, especially now that it's 3 seconds only, really should force her to recharge both tokens (All 3 if she is the one nurse in existence that uses the Torn Bookmark)
    • Longer fatigue less vignette and toe-staring. Seriously. What the hell is the point of making her power purposely clunky. Just increase the fatigue and let us see the map
    • Several deadzones that vacuum her power on several maps still haven't been addressed
    • Rework or reduce range addons, give her an extra meter or two on the blink so she doesn't feel goddawful on the biggest offending maps
    • Rework or reduce her recharge addons, give a little bit of it back as basekit so she can feel like she can function without either of these addon branches
    • Make the flashlight burn more responsive for the survivor, with a better indicator that Nurse can't blink (or can, if they're doing it wrong)
    • Better 'cut-up' angle, meaning changes in elevation shouldn't be ignored just because you can only look so far up when you blink

The list really goes on. They recoded her, but there's still so many missed opportunities to make her more consistent for both sides.

Edit: I was being dramatic too, when I hit that barrel I screeched so damn loud even Nurse told me to chill.

LOL me honestly when the hit dressing is odd.

These changes are really good suggestions, I hope the devs catch a glance :D You have thought them through very thoroughly, it doesn't take away from her in the hands of someone playing her well, and it makes her more intractable too.

For Legendary Skins I actually want them to go all out with RE4. I want Ashley and Luis. Even though RE4 gets a lot of remasters, it doesn't get as much new stuff as people might think. It'd be cool to see them with better graphics. I know we're getting RE4R but that's all the more reason to do it because in the remake, while it'll be awesome, won't have the exact same outfits and I'd like to see that but with better graphics which DBD can do like they did with RE4 Leon.

I would love Ashley and Luis, Ashley especially would suit this game very well!! Plus it'd be funny playing them all together in the same survivor team, Ashley being carried away and Leon chasing after the killer LOL

  • I honestly feel it serves no real purpose other than an accessibility issue, my bf who is severely sighted can't play against him. It's an awful designed power, and their is no accessibility in place for people to counter it.

Having to rely on perks for basic accessibility (windows of opportunity, spine chill, zen shin tactics) is frustrating. It already took a call out post to get colour blind settings as it was.

I have issues with the hid validation from the other side. I blinked, went to lunge around one of those barrels that are on fire, and 'hit-dressing' locked me in straight on the barrel and clank! Survivor goes running off into the distance.

Of all the changes they will never do, I believe they will never do M2 being a special attack the most. I'm totally fine with her being more stunnable.

it definately happens to both sides, I'm being dramatic about one side atm, it's never consistent and I have 50ms on both sides whenever it happens, issue usually stems from someone with a chaotic/high ms connection. Sometimes hits just whiff into a quick hit and sometimes it feels like when you hit a survivor they rubber band to where they actually are (you hit a past version of themself thats corrected to their actual location), it makes playing the game based on reaction very very hard.

As for the m2, it is a bit heavy handed yeah, but it's more of a if they had to do something that took the least effort idea. As a nurse player myself, I'd be upset if they killed a lot of her synergy..

I'm glad you agree about the stunning, no idea sometimes even when I charge blinks I immune the stun, not even my exhausted state.

  • Honestly one of my largest issues with Nurse is hit validation, how she hits you before she even shows up if they have a trash connection, but that extends my issue with killers in general atm is just how we can't avoid high ping killers, and I feel that also skews balance a bit as well since the game is never consistent.

More on topic however, I'd just make her m2 not trigger m1 perks for one, and make her stunnable more consistently in her power (as she immunes stuns with her animations half the time) and make her lose her stacks when stunned. She'd still be strong despite these changes too lol

  • I want these but also Classic Claire (or fix her face overbite of the century + harshest normal maps ever... IDK what is going on with her).

I'd also love to see an Alexia Ashford skin legendary for nemesis with her boss theme as she chases, it'd be perfect replacing the tentacle with vines, and maybe have zombies wearing outfits from code veronica (add Alfred as a zombie lmao)

but tbh more Silent Hill (Harry Mason, Henry) and Resident Evil cosmetics would be amazing.

If anyone is interested in submitting evidence in a bug report thread about these hits, please send them in a reply to this thread. It would help a lot!

Maybe we can finally fix this problem once and for all if we co-operate with the devs.

More evidence of what is going on from another friend. I can't provide the killers ping because you don't give us that information.

  • Make it so I can see my allies perks in the lobby, that way I know how they are going to play (for example if they have head on and I can run by their locker letting them help me), or if they have heal perks and want to heal me. Or even a ping system.

I just feel there is so many small QoL changes to perks/lobbies that could make solo surviving nicer. Going to go back to head on again and say let the locker I'm in glow in a short radius to allies.

Major problem with DBD though: Killers with bad Internet get an unfair advantage. Validation sucks.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/322679/high-latency-killers-are-causing-very-very-incorrect-visual-hits#latest I made a report on this because this surely cannot be intended. I feel like I'm always punished for the killer having terrible ping and I feel we should be punishing such, not rewarding it... it cannot be intended, and I feel for the health of the game something should be done about it.

  • My suggestion would be to make it an activate-able perk (activates when you crouch?) on a cool down where you hold your breath/injured noises for a duration, allowing more room for mind games and interaction, and making it effective against killers like spirit when she is phasing

maybe 10 second duration or so.

  • I love this game but the sheer lack of QoL for Solo Survivor makes it hard to enjoy especially when everything is getting nerfed with SWF in mind.

One suggestion I made was to make Head On highlight the locker you were in to nearby survivors at a close range, to allow for solo survivors to capitalise on each others perks a bit more, or at the very least allow the likes of bond to do so when paired with it.

even making the nerfed self care base kit for solo survivors at this point, anything.

  • It's probably already been said a million times, but why does she get to use m1 perks with her power? She'd still be op even if she couldn't, also why can I stun Blight during his exhaust stun but not nurse?

she just doesn't make sense at all, she isn't consistent with the rest of the killers lol.

That’s not a bug. You used it against a situation it doesn’t work. Using flashlights against Lightborn doesn’t mean you don’t lose flashlight charge. Messing up a pallet save and dropping it too early doesn’t mean the pallet gets un-dropped. That is on you for messing up and doing it at a time it won’t work.

So you come out the locker slowly? lol, You are doing it to protect yourself from being grabbed, its a lose lose situation and that's bad design and surely not intended, if you don't do it during fatigue, you are going to get lag grabbed out the locker.

  • @dreamsy10 said:

Nurse cannot be stunned while fatigue.

It shouldn't cause exhaustion then, which I'd say still warrants a bug report.

  • I feel like I can only justify dead hard against huntress, because it makes sense in her case. you could even just make it only work on ranged projectiles possibly.

If they fix the BP Grind then I'll never use BBQ again.

I was more meaning for the aura reading to incentivize leaving the hook

  • For me its how much legions just target change over and over and over without downing anyone and near enough no cooldown to their power with full slowdown perks. SO it turns into stalemate of doing no gens, killer instinct was used as a way to locate survivors now people are using it incorrectly to just keep applying deep wounds more than before trying to get the instant down. Killer instinct is the issue, maybe it should only reveal the initial location of nearby survivors, not constantly. Albeit with the addition of being able to see scratch marks.

  • Honestly Make BT and BBQ baseline so both sides get a perk they always use, and both don't encourage camping.

1 … 69 70 71 72 73 … 75
