Idea to help counter tunneling that won't punish killer momentum but allow a chance for altruism.

Hi everyone,

My idea is a simple one, decaying wiggle if a survivor is down after being unhooked quickly (like flip flop)

If a survivor who is tunneled is downed, the killer will need to slug them for a duration (Does not work when exit gates are powered/ hatch spawns). Allowing survivors to recover and reposition to a safer place for someone to rescue them from harm or to use second chance perks (like unbreakable etc). This will in turn encourage killers to punish the unhooker/switch targets.

Duration of this wiggle decay could be up for debate, or different ideas to help refine this would be welcome. I just thought I'd throw my idea in here as it was an interesting discussion I had with friends.

  • Tunneling already allows for altruism, bodyblocking is tunneling's biggest counter, but I like the idea.

Maybe decrease the amount of Wiggle progress needed down to 12~ seconds for 30 seconds after getting unhooked. Would certainly help with tunneling, while still not making it so a single Survivor is able to wiggle off on their own

  • How about survivors who are unhooked start with a 99'ed wiggle meter, that decays over time? Say 99-0 in 30 seconds.

This could kinda work like a basekit DS, but it would be much more manageable, countered by things like Iron Grasp and Mad Grit, and of course it would more or less scale with the distance a survivor runs from the hook. if you downed them exactly 5.1s after they were unhooked, they be as close to the hook as possible, which would likely be just about the right time to get them to that hook with whatever wiggle meter they have remaining, basically making the timing tighter, but still possible to mess up or sabotage via body blocking.

Like a wiggle speed buff duration? Yeah that seems more manageable (plus it won't cause a problematic stack with flip flop). I like this!

yeah I was thinking it would sort of function like a baseline DS that isn't obnoxious, countering it would be possible but it would require a full build for it, which sacrifices slowdown. It would require strategy to pull off, but it might help encourage killers to go for a more viable target (the unhooker) more.
