The Entity read the News with growing alarm, almost terror, which in itself was unusual for something as nightmarish as the Entity... but all the survivors were getting new outfits and the Entity only had enough auric cells for one outfit. But which one? The Entity's torment was almost palpable.

he needed to do something..but he couldn't remember what he was doing before.. before.. when.. the fog... he remembered eating a burrito and drinking some vile soda he had found in the belongings of the Doctor...then he remembered... there was no toilet paper in the bathroom... one of the killers had stolen it to deal with the killers own issues... he looked out across a vast field of corn and then he saw a man in a blue shirt crouched by a generator. The generator was fully repaired... what was the man doing? A challenge perhaps...
"Defecate three times within the killer's terror radius in a single trial..."
this caused him to giggle.. he recalled another challenge from the soon to be fifth tome... "Run shirtless and unbroken, escape through the hatch, in a single trial" he snickered a while wondering how many Davids would be on the team.

Read the character bio as a start. The scene as I recall was extrapolated from S1 E1 of AvED.

I dislike players who disconnect for reasons other than an emergency. And by emergency I mean a real life one. When playing in a team you can probably carry one survivor if the other three are good enough, but well... when you get matched with three 20s all on level 2 and no offerings (i.e. they just started playing) its hard to carry them all.
Remember every ranked player is allowed one missed skill check but if you do it constantly reduce your settings to potato and/or practice doing them with friends away from ranked.
I would like to see a non ranked area from 25-20 where you rise up on simple play hours without pips involved. That way new killers and survivors wont have to sweat depipping /pipping up

Lol. Immunity because you're being tunneled.
Free unhooks because you're being camped.
SURE! But only if you automatically get hooked if you do generators too fast.
What's that? 'It's unfair to be punished for securing your objective as quick as possible'?
Well, that's exactly what you're asking for with camping/tunneling punishments; you want to punish the Killer for playing his objective of KILLING YOU.
I was not exactly being serious with the immunity or camping punishments. I think you got that. Sometimes players think they are being tunneled for being in the right place for the Killer at the wrong time for themself.
As regards camping its a tactic some killers use to be sure of either getting more survivors using the one on hook as bait or simply making sure the one on hook doesnt escape using an unhook perk.
Sadly when you have one on hook and two idiots trying to unhook them when the killer is right there and those two others get downed, and then the last survivor who maybe had a perk that could see the killer's aura gets trolled in the end chat for "not rescuing me" its a bit bizarre.
Both happen in a match and I try to be polite as possible
-
Well while we are on the subject of nerfs: how about granting a hit immunity to a survivor thats already been hooked and whacked twice to stop tunneling. Or alternatively if the Killer remains face camping or camping a survivor on the hook for more than say 20s the survivor can get a free unhook...
SMH... looping is one of the tactics survivors used to get chased and gain points without being whacked right off.

Even on the first tome challenges, players have been depipping and deranking just to get ONE chest done, let alone three in the same trial using Plunderer's Instinct. (which I did by some fluke).
I would be interested in unlocking the Killer ones as I dont play Killer, so I can gather the lore items. Whats a fair item to pay to unlock the tome period?

I was told that by a player who didn't want me in his team in future as a survivor he had noted my name and the typical characters I run and would exit the lobby if I was ever in the same lobby as him. He was most emphatic about that.
For a while (I was new to the game and still learning) I considered stopping playing, but then another player told me there are toxic players in the game and I shouldn't care what they think so much.
-
I suggest that there be forgiveness for disconnections, limited to one per player per hour. After that apply whatever penalties are appropriate. The reason being is that if a player's game crashes, in other words they did not deliberately Alt F4 out of the game, they shouldnt be punished.
Having said that I heard players last night noting they were getting DCs in every match. With two disconnects I feel it should be an automatic safety pip. Its just my opinion of course, but it can get hard to keep positive if you lose four pips in the space of an hour due to disconnects.
-
I think its a little unfair if you are not a Claudette and three others are on your team, and they all get to escape because you know, there is that challenge, right? And no also running a Claudette is going to result in one or more being downed regardless, or the killer quitting halfway thru the match. (That happened twice last evening due to the generator challenge)
-
My experience has included acquiring 7 pips in the same day, in one case a +2, then in the evening losing every single pip due to either my mistakes, a tunneling Killer, a Killer with an aura spotter perk (example bbq and chilli), or worse, three man swf team who would rather let someone die on the hook ... but generally doing stuff in the match will eventually get you ranked up. One thing to remember is when your killer alert perk lights up or makes a noise, dont ignore it even if you think you can finish the gen in the next ten seconds.
I tend to stay around rank 16 as I can lose pips above rank 17. I do wish they would update the explanation to say "deranking below rank 15 is possible"
-
I like them I can click on the + sign and invite a friend. They work.
-
I think maybe we just accept that quality control trumps planned events, as they noted in more than post the Blight event was scheduled for October 22, and that would need a coding patch, so it was reasonable to assume that the mid chapter 3.3.0 patch would deliver the event in one go. Surely its better not to have the event and patch dropped tomorrow then have a firestorm of complaints that "it doesnt work"?
-
In my opinion DCing will continue whether punished or not. I suggest if a player or the killer dcs in a match, then EVERY player still left in the match at the time of dc (that is not dead), would get a guaranteed safety pip.
-
Maybe the answer is to alter the ranking into regulars (where you gather pips but never lose any, and on reaching rank 1, get 400 auric cells and return to gray 20) and solo ranked. That means any SWF team CANNOT que for the ranked part (where pips can be lost at rank 16 etc). Rewards for solo ranked season: rank 10... 200 auric cells, rank 1.. 400 auric cells.
Auric cells could be substituted for a cosmetic or a badge

I dont regret buyin any killer as I dont play Killer at all. I bought the DLCs for the Survivors.

There is no excuse for facecamping.

You can’t lose pips once you are rank 15.
I reached rank 15 the night before the blood double event. The following day I depipped to rank 16 then over the course of the next ten matches lost three more pips. So yes I achieve a rank 15 survivor and I did depip. Whatever the wiki says is no longer applicable. If you say at rank 15 you cant depip to 16 then why did that happen?
-
I think the annoying part for new players is the skill check is hard enough to master without dealing with Hex ruin as well.
-
I have 220 hours on record, rank 16 survivor with one pip. Part of the reason was for nearly two months I went with the default graphics settings which meant frequent missed skill checks and laggy play. After I fixed my graphics settings to potato, I was able to hit 500 skill checks in around two-three weeks.
I play SWF with a rank 9 survivor, so I frequently face off against rank 12 or lower killers. Whilst I get that the SWF team is now based on the highest ranked member, neither my friend nor I used it so they could mess with a low rank Killer. The only cost to me is I rarely pip up or get a safety pip when I don't win the match (by winning I mean escaping)
I don't play killer, originally I was worried I might not have a strong enough connection and now I am afraid I would be presented with 16s or lower due to the huge number of new Killers at gray 20
-
Latency issues are noticeable at times, after getting used to when to hit the space bar on skill checks in P2P I know have to adapt to the new server latency, I am in AR and have a stable internet connection thru Xfinity, ping was green in lobby sometimes yellow.

I wonder. How about backfilling where a Survivor can join a match already in progress? So if a Survivor DCs, anyone in the que and seeking to join a match in progress can do so. It wont happen as I doubt they could even set the game up like that. Altho... Killer Dcs and backfills with another Killer in the que...
-
I voluntarily withdrew from playing with one friend as he said my lack of skill with skill checks was causing him to depip when he played swf with me. I have subsequently fixed my settings to potato and that seemed to help.
Presently I usually earn one pip daily then either lose it the next match or the first match of the following day. Typically I will depip for being downed and eliminated very quickly not for lasting the entire match then getting dead.
Some map killer combos seem to work very well for the Killer: Wraith and Hawkins, and Coldwind and Billy.
I am never toxic in the end chat even after depipping as this is a video game played for fun not a deathmatch.
-
TBH if you are in a lobby solo and you see a rank 11 survivor, a rank 12 survivor, a rank 10 survivor and a rank 17, it would suggest that either everyone is asleep not playing and matchmaker gave up, or more likely the 17 is in an swf group with at least one or more of the higher ranks. I play a two man SWF and my partner is a rank 10 to my rank 16. I find it helps me deal with higher rank killers and once I am dead I can then spectate to see how better players work together to win.
-
Its fake as it would get stuck chasing a survivor on the Haddonfield map, and I doubt it would enjoy banging its head on the ceiling in Hawkins either.
-
You forget skill checks are dreaded by every new player. They exist to slow down repair time until a survivor becomes more practiced. Lately though if every match has hex ruin it gets old fast.
If you wanted an additional objective, why not make it finding something like a special totem and you get BONUS points for it, so if you skip if no points for the objective.
It wouldnt affect emblems being in the nature of a simple bonus like BPS.
At the same time, you could also have a thing the Killer could find on the map that gave them BONUS points. I say that in caps to make clear its optional and not mandatory to find the thing.
-
When a player disconnects in the survivor team there is immediately one less person helping on objectives which may include distracting the killer. When the killer disconnects (before the new dedicated servers started today) the match ends and sometimes depips occur. I assume that now we have dedicated serevrs they track scores and will be fair about what was earned up to the d'c
However dreadful the match is it is not an eternity and you can take a break, post rude words in the forum about what you saw, or simply move on to the next match. Its a game played for fun primarily not a deathmatch.
-
I am the same, I play solo more than swf. My usual friend mains a killer so we dont often do matches together as a swf team. In any case their rank is like 9 or something so I get in groups with high ranking survivors and killers. I do my best but I feel maybe playing alone till I get better helps everyone in the long run.
-
So from the replies I assume (as I only started playing beginning of August) the double blood event is a time of The Purge? I do wonder if there are mentoring groups that will be patient with a 56 year old player who is trying to still grasp the basics of the game and do better?
-
I accept each player has their own approach during an event such as this, but my own experience was marred when I was mori'd as the first eliminated, the next guy was hooked twice and died, the last two one of whom one was a friend I had grouped with and another player and the killer farmed each other for points for like ten minutes. I understood it was a way for the remaining players to get a better bloodpoint score but it was sickening to watch and in the endgame chat I announced I was probably going to quit (at least till the event is over) because it was too much like wintrading.
I pvp in another MMO and I guess maybe I disagree with farming like that. Just my opinion, not every player is the same.
-
I am a rank 16 survivor. I did make rank 15 then lost four pips in quick succession due to lag, bad mistakes on picking a generator to repair, poor luck at proximity to killer on spawn that sort of thing. With the rank reset I go to 18 and three pips.
With the recent change in matchmaking for SWF groups now based on highest rank, my friend is now a rank 10. As I saw, trying to que with them was guaranteeing me matches with rank 9 killers rank 8 survivors.
I have told the friend I can no longer play SWF with them as it is unfair to them and everyone else. I am hoping with rank resets I might get a few games in with my friend before they get too high a rank again.
-
I found out my resolution was set to 100% so I set it to 0 as well, reducing the window I played in and amazingly the appearance was better. Not saying that would work for you
-
Let's consider how ranks are gotten? They are gotten by pipping up and, at reaching rank 16, not de pipping. New players may be mixed in a team with a rank 5 or more higher than theirs, like a rank 12 with a newbie rank 20.
Matchmaking continues to be broken due to the huge number of Killers and lack of four survivors. One possible solution is to stretch the ranks out to say 30 and nobody depips. That way I would expect a player of average ability to go from 30 to 20 inside the rank reset period of 30 days. A good to great player might reach 10, 5 or even 1.
It appears que times for new Killers at rank 20 are much longer as there is a lack of survivors at ~20 or even 19. So a new player opts to play survivor and thus feeds the cycle of feeding the killers. Why not gate the Killers? If there are too many on and not enough survivors to go round, simply say FULL like other games and encourage the player to try survivor.

To be honest I have had far worse blurry and ugh graphics than that on Low
