...does it need a counter? Not really a helpful perk to begin with

That's really my point. Not everything needs a counter. Woosh.

I think the point is that killers should feel like their play matters and has consequences. With most of the cast, I know when the game loads in if I am going to be able to win or not, depending on the skill of the survivors. The match shouldn’t feel predetermined, which it does right now.

I don't disagree with anything you said. My question though, if you are already a better than average killer, getting on average more than 2k, then MMR hits and it works as intended, dropping you down to a 2k average, are you going to be more or less satisfied with the game?

  • @FrenziedRoach said:

I don't like facerolls anymore than I like being made felt helpless and out of control of the match.

I'm most engaged when I feel like I have a chance, but I have to work for it.

If I give a team "GG, you guys made me work for that one", I'm usually very happy and pleased with the game.

How many kills would you need to get to say that? I'm guessing if you said that you probably got a 3 or 4k. If your average drops down to 2k, and more times than not you trying results in a 2k, do you think you will feel the same?

  • Assuming it works and also assuming one of the defining metrics of it being 2 escape/2 kill average, it would be good for balance. You would see what killers aren’t able to reach the top MMR of survivors and be able to buff them. You can also make changes to survivor/killer balance and it be much more evident on the outcome of the changes to reach their balance metric. Also, the only ones that would really feel the downside of the balance issues if a working MMR was in place would only be the top few percentile of players.

The downside is I think most of us are very conditioned to having games where we don’t really need to try all that hard and still be able to get 3 to four kills and going to a system where we have to try hard all the time to average 2 kills (presuming that is their balance goal) might not feel like playing killer is as rewarding as it once was.

  • Sprint burst and Spine chill are usually in my build.

Iron Will is my third perk most of the time but might change it for a challenge.

The fourth perk is dependent on what challenge I am doing. If it is something like escape or hit great skill checks so it doesn't matter, probably Kindred.

  • I find survivors or killers that feel they have the right to insult another person for their play style that is within the rules of the game to be entitled. It may have been an innocent question, but usually someone asking that means they were upset about the way the other played and is inferring they shouldn't have played that way. If the play style was within the rules, no reason to question it.

  • @not_Queen Are you able to comment on this thread? Have the issues been discussed with and videos been shown to the parties that can help with optimizations issues? Nothing against Mandy, but our assumption is she is being told not to say anything so I guess it is time to move up the ladder.

Try hitting the killer with the pallet instead of dropping it in from of them

    @OniWantsYourMacaroni

Brutal strength works on generators too, so don't forgot not to do gens.

  • So then the counter to iron will is not hitting healthy survivors. This game is so easy.

  • Then I guess you counter iron will with one shot killers and perks. Also, don't hit healthy survivors and don't chase injured survivors.

  • What is the counter to brutal strength?

  • I'm thinking about changing my name to something cool like Taserface5896, putting on my default survivor skins and urban evasion, and doing perimeter inspections in each game. Sorry if you get me.

No they originally had it live and then they took it back for some tweaking because people were complaining and have tested it twice since then.

I can agree with this. That still doesn’t mean it is statistically working as intended, otherwise it wouldn’t have needed tweaking.

  • @gendoss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2258444#Comment_2258444

No but they were confident enough to make it live for a while so it had to have been working.

They sent it to live to test it. This is the third time they have done so. With your logic, when they tested it the first time, they should have been confident it was working then. But it wasn't working as intended, so they shut it off. Theoretically, people should be getting matches against players of equal skill. But what is theoretical and what is actual are 2 separate things that can be completely different.

  • @gendoss said:

It can successfully predict the outcome of most games, that's the point of it. So statistically it is successful at matching people up because it can predict the outcome.

How do you know it is successfully predicting the outcome of most games? Do you work for BHVR and the data you are collecting is showing that to be the case?

  • I also have around 2k hours. My experience was I was getting easier teams overall than with rank based. So I guess if you were doing ok with rank based, I think you will probably do ok with skill based, but only way to know is to play and see.

Remember this is just a 2 day test and will go back to rank based when over. The games you play and feedback you can give can help to improve the feature going forward.

  • Why do you say statistically speaking? What data are you using you are getting stats from? This is a feature that is still in development so it is reasonable to think that it isn't working as intended, which seems to be the case reading how mixed people's experiences are.

  • Game 11 - Cannibal. 4k 0 gens left, no gates open. My most played killer. I win some. I lose some. I use him to do most of the challenges and to chill. I don't play to win. I try to get as many hooks as possible. I almost always have a meme build and no add ons. I'm playing that way for the test to see if my games feel different. This first game felt normal. A couple less mistakes by them probably a 2k.

Game 12 - Cannibal. 4k 1 gen left. 1 good survivor, 3 middle of the pack.

    Game 13 - Cannibal. 4k 3 gens left. 1 ok survivor, 3 meh.

Game 14 - Cannibal. 4k 3 gens left. They only got 2 done because it was Haddonfield. They were baby survivors. More worried about hiding than doing gens. To afraid to go for unhooks.

Game 15 - Cannibal. 4k, 1 gen left. Actually best team I faced. Only won because they ended up 3 genning themselves near basement. They also tried body blocking for 1st survivor to die as they were on death hook and they didn't know up until that point I was running mad grit. Downed one that was also on death hook and injured the other two, so I killed 2 in seconds.

Overall, I felt my killer games were easier than they usually are on rank match making. I had a couple good teams against my most played killer, but then the other three were not strong teams. i'm not sure why there would be such a variance. Obviously we don't know exactly how it calculates, but I think killers I don't play as much should still factor in my experience from killers I do play. Especially killers with easy to use powers like trickster and twins. I shouldn't be starting out so low I'm getting fairly new survivors because I understand how to chase from playing other killers and their powers don't take much to master. I don't play blight and nurse very often, so I would probably need a less experienced team for it to feel like an even match, but definitely not on twins. Of course PC or console variances would need to be considered on some of these.

  • I think it would be nice to see the MMR scores, at least compared to those of the same role so people can see where they stand against other players. I mean, that is what most rank games are about. Bragging rights to who has a higher MMR. I don't think it matters for the test though. I'm sure they have the ability to look at the matches that were created and played in the back end to tell what type of variance there is during the test.

My solo survivor games so far, I feel on average, I have been given better team mates, but the match to killers was usually at the extremes. Either my team all escaped or the killer destroyed us. Only 1 or 2 that were close and maybe could have gone a little different.

My killer games so far, I have been dominate in all of them. The only escape against me so far has been a hatch escape.

I think I might have been the spirit you played in game 8. I was trying to get a daily with spirit, and phased back to a player who got the hook save on an afk. I rebooked the afk, and that’s when the game turned around. I thought I was going to lose that one until that moment.

I don't remember the killer name. It definitely wasn't JediWithASniper if that is what you use in game. There were 2 TTV survivors. It was one of them that went afk.

  • Game 6 - Wraith. 4k 3 gens left. Probably my second most played killer and who I used the last MMR test. I used my normal perk build, the one I was using before the buff and I did the 50 Rank 1 Games as Wraith thread. Couple green add ons. One decent survivor playing with a friend (I could tell by the matching names). The other three weren't that great. Too easy for me considering the amount of games I have played Wraith.

Game 7 - Wraith. 4k 3 gens left. One good survivor, 3 typical solo queue survivors. Not that I blame them, but one of the biggest frustrations with solo queue is how selfish people play. It's like they don't care that the best chance for them to get out, is to get the gens done. They spend too much time healing and too much time hiding instead of hopping on gens and pressuring the killer. Too many hatch players. Maybe if they got rid of hatch people would start playing more for the team to win.

Game 8 - Wraith. 4k 3 gens left. Middle of the pack survivors. Haddonfield offering.

Game 9 - Wraith. 4k 2 gens left. 3 stack swf (steam friends anyway). 1 good survivor. Ran me twice for a gen each time. Others were middle of the pack.

Game 10 - Wraith. 4k 3 gens left. 2 stack (steam friends). The friends were baby survivors. The other 2 middle of the pack.

The last MMR test we did I won all my Wraith games too but I thought the games seemed a little more competitive than this current test.

  • @Trickstaaaaa said:

How can play this many matches in one day XDD. I get burned out with 5 matches. But yeah overall for survivors I did get parried up on average with more competent survivors, than without MMR.

I have the day off and the gf is out of town. Only thing on my schedule is DBD, feed cats and water yard, though I’m sure I could push off feeding the cats till tomorrow ;).

  • Game 11 - Wraith. 1k. Should have been a 4 escape but I made a wrong guess about blood warden which got me hooked and someone else killed after they unhooked me. Killer seemed decent. It just didn't go their way.

Game 12 - Spirit. 3k with 4 gens left. She destroyed us. The only reason I got hatch was because I brought an offering (doing a hatch escape challenge) so I knew where it would be and the last survivor to die decided to kill themselves on hook.

Game 13 - Hag. 0k. Not a great 3 gen but close enough that tinkerer with traps slowed us down a bit, but we pulled it out. Killer was console so no scroll wheel. They did teleport a bit late though so they should have been spamming the action key a little more. Not sure if it was the server or killer's ping, but I got hit THROUGH pallets, hit when 3 steps on other side of windows and actually was completely on other side of pallet after vault and the game said "nope" and gave her a grab, teleporting me backwards over the pallet and onto her shoulder.

Game 14 - Nurse. 0k. Console nurse. Had trouble in chase against all of the survivors. 2 hooks only by the time there was 1 gen left and disconnected after a long chase with one of the others.

Game 15 - Nurse. 1k. Ruin went down in under a minute. Survivors were smart. We focused the middle gens first and at the end we had a gen in 3 different corners of Suffocation Pit. 6 hooks only.

    My thoughts.

I do feel that the survivor teammates I have been getting with MMR on are better on average than what I get with rank based match making, which is nice. However, when it came to matching skill between the survivor team and the killer, the majority of the games felt lopsided one way or the other. As I mentioned above, with rank based, there were definitely lopsided matches at times, but it seemed like there were more in between games that felt closer, and more fun.

  • As long as I still have the Burt Reynolds head, I'm fine with changes.

  • @glitchboi said:

Honestly they should just make it so that brown ranks will always go against other browns and yellows, yellows go against yellows and greens, greens go against greens and purples, and purples and reds go against each other.

I don't understand how hard it is to do that. DBD isn't a competitive game and doesn't need to be one.

They have been much more strict with matching to rank before though and it always ends with a bunch of complaints about how long the queues are, much longer than what they can be now. Me personally, I would rather have a shorter queue and go against someone more skilled than me than wait 30 minutes plus to get into an evenly matched rank game.

  • @akito See above. I forgot to tag you in it.

  • I'm still doing some games so will most likely post one more set, but it feels worse to me. I haven't really kept any stats before on survivor, but with my MMR games so far it feels like it is to one extreme or the other. With rank based, there are definitely some unbalanced games, but usually there are some fairly matched games in between. Just looking at my games is a low sample set though so I am interested to see what others' experiences are.

  • Game 6 - Wraith. 4k with 1 gen left. Team wasn't bad, but 1 survivor wouldn't take any hook states to help spread them out. They ended up getting 1 hooked when it was down to 2 survivors.

Game 7 - Ghost Face. Only got 2 hooks and disconnected after we got the gate open. Very good group. Survivors knew how to stay on gens, when to take protection hits and when not to. I want to mention ranks on this one to show how far off the killer to survivor skill match was. 3 rank 1's and 1 rank 2 for survivors. Killer was rank 15 and didn't even have a full tier 3 perk build. This wasn't just a bad game, they were definitely not at the same skill as the survivor team.

Game 8 - Spirit. 4k with 2 gens left. For the most part, decent survivors. They focused healing a little too much in my opinion as the killer had sloppy. One of the survivors decided to go afk after their 2nd hook and got slugged.. Of course I didn't know that until I went in to pick them up from dying and the spirit phased to us, ignored the afk and went after me. I think that may have happened to the other 2 as well.

Game 9 - Nurse. 3k. 1 other decent survivor, 1 one that needs to just learn a little more and 1 that must have thought they were a survivor god but weren't. Killer has corrupt so I go find a gen that isn't blocked. Someone gets hit and runs killer towards me. I take aggro. I figure I should waste their time by a blocked gen so I run them to the closest one with a jungle gym. The survivor god is there waiting out corrupt. I take a hit and start running to the next gym. The survivor god decides she is going to body block for me but only ends up getting in my way and I go down. Nurse slugs and survivor god takes a hit but manages to evade enough for killer to pick me up. They run over to me as I'm getting picked up and follow to the hook. Nurse hooks and starts chasing survivor god away. Inexperienced survivor unhooks me and follows me to gen and insists on healing me, killer has sloppy. I hide around the corner and let him try to heal. Killer hooks survivor god so I reposition after a few seconds incase of bbq but other still wants to heal. Killer comes over and is directly on us because of Nurses. I run off, other goes down. Survivor god gets unhooked and I run in to save the inexperienced survivor. We run to the gen and I start working on it but he teabags me for 5 seconds to get me to heal. I ignore and he finally helps finish gen. I hear terror radius and start to run because of Nurses but other still follows to try and heal. We both go down. Survivor god comes in for save and gets 2 shot in 10 seconds and disconnects with 1 gen left and only on second hook. The inexperienced survivor kills themselves even though the other survivor was 10 meters from saving them. I get unhooked. We get last gen done. I get gate opened and other survivor gets downed 5 meters from exit. I get forced out, other 1 gets 1 hooked. SMH.

Game 10 - Cannibal. 1k. He did decent, at least 8 hooks. Survivors group was good, trying to push gens and only heal when we had 2 to heal and would then back out. Killer got 'BHVRd'. He had his chainsaw charged and was on me as I got to a down pallet. I hit the space to vault but it stopped me from vaulting and killer chainsawed pallet even though I was still between him and the pallet. I distract him long enough for the other three to get to a door and open it. I think if he downs me instead of it forcing the pallet break, he gets another kill.

  • I didn't like playing against them before I found a good way to dodge Victor. Now that I have that down I don't mind them so much.

  • I get annoyed if the killer does it early on. Especially if someone gets hooked at 5 gens, the killer is chasing someone else and leaves chase to go back to the hook and tunnel. It is usually unnecessary to tunnel that early. If it happens later on when there are only 1 or 2 gens, I get why it happens.

I just played a killer match against a 4 man swf (they were all on steam and I checked their friends list) running three flashlights. I was doing the hook the obsession 4 times challenge so I was running Make your Choice and Furtive Chase so I was going back to get the person that saved as they were usually my new obsession. The ones just unhooked would stand there and try to flashlight blind me. So I would down them and if the person that made the save ran off, I would pick them up and hook them. I also had 1 on the hook, went somewhere else and was chasing another, The person got unhooked and ran over to where I was chasing the other. They crouched, waiting for me to down and pick up the other so they could try to get a flashlight save. I saw them and went after them and downed them.

At the end of the match, they were so mad that I tunneled. I guess they thought I should have just ignored the fact they were trying to blind me and let them do it. And because I didn't, I was a dirty tunneler. A lot of times, survivors try stupid things that cause the tunneling.

  • If MMR works as intended, being you get matched against survivors of equal skill, buff or nerf changes would only really affect players at the furthest ends of skill. If your are not a top 5% killer or survivor or bottom 5% killer or survivor (those numbers are a little of a guess because I don't have data on how wide matchmaking would be with MMR) then all a buff or nerf to the other side will do to you is shift the survivor pool you play against. So any buff or nerf now would really make no difference to MMR for 90% of the player base.

I have my doubts MMR will really work though because I think it would be almost impossible to accurately assign a skill number to survivors based on how much rng of maps and other teammates play can affect your performance.

  • Just saw the mod post in the tech forums about support knowing about the No Network Connection error. He said support is asking for logs if you are on a PC.

  • Using the mori instead of picking up negates any attempts to save the survivor with a flashlight, pallet, sabo, bodyblock, DS, breakout. There are probably some I forget.

If it's a quick mori animation, maybe it takes less time to pick up, carry and hook. But it could be a long animation too, and take more time. This is just dependent on killer.

For the most part, it is just a cooler way to kill the survivor.

Devour Hope still works regardless of hook state if you can get the five stacks.

  • What is arrogant behavior to you? I play solo survivor. One game I played against a doctor player. I was clearly the best survivor on the team as the doctor player could not catch me and would have to leave chase to down one of the others in a matter of seconds. I did not flashlight click the killer. I did not emote the killer. I did tbag one of the other survivors because when the second survivor to be killed was down, he ran over to the hook to get the unhook with madness tier 3, only he couldn't get the unhook because the survivor was on death hook. Of course being madness tier 3, he screamed and the killer found him and downed him immediately. The killer slugged him and when I ran by him I tbagged for a laugh.

I finally ran out of resources of course and the killer caught me. He then slugged me the full 4 minutes. Usually I keep my chat shut off, but I was a little curious what he was going to say so I turned it on. He called me a toxic survivor, not because I tbagged the Jake, but because he couldn't catch me. I wasn't trying to be toxic to him, I was just trying to play the game and survive. But he only wanted to believe that I was and I deserved to be slugged for 4 minutes.

There are many different strategies that people don't find fun to play against on both sides. That doesn't make them toxic. Sometimes tbagging and flashlight clicking is the survivor trying to rile the killer up a little to make them make mistakes. It could also be to say "hey come chase me". You don't know what they mean by it until the end game and you can ask them. Why not give them the benefit of the doubt before you decided to exact some type of false vengeance? And those that are doing it to get under your skin aren't going to change. The killer getting tilted and trying to punish them is what they want.

You didn't further the discussion, you tried to break down what I said, then had a poorly though out anecdote about being new to the forums. You only tried to discredit, which I ignored. If you have something you want to discuss, then we can do that, but you did not in your previous post. Even in this post you are attempting to instigate, rather than discussing a point. When you want to have a discussion, I will listen, though you are losing credibility with transparent attempts to insult or instigate. Unless you want to actually discuss something, you can look for attention elsewhere.

My last post was absolutely an unnecessary, passive-aggressive attempt to insult. My apologies.

Because I know what many people on these forums are like, and many in the community too, hence why I was making sure.

Basic reading comprehension will take you far.

I also don't know why everyone feels they need to share how business works with everyone else. I am an engineer that has worked for two large employers and am fully aware of how much politics there is around public relations. I shouldn't have to tell people this for them to give me the benefit of the doubt, especially when I am not specifically finger pointing at someone.

Because a lot of people aren't and many people don't know how this works, rather surprisingly. Even if I know you know how they work having a basic explanation in there is helpful to other people outside of the conversation because these are public discussion forums.

I did read it. If you don't think we are then there is no need for you to directly respond to us about this. And saying you don't think we are is the same thing as saying I don't mean to be rude, but. If you think I might find it rude, don't say, because I might find it rude.

I'll will concede to your second point of this might be good information for people who don't know. But when you are directly replying to my post it doesn't feel like you are speaking generally to others outside of me. A way you could have conveyed that would be to first say, and for everyone's information. Or just made a standalone post speaking generally to everyone instead of replying to two of us specifically and saying I don't know if you are, but if you are.

I've worked with a lot of very articulate people. But just because what they say sounds good and they say it with confidence, doesn't mean they aren't full of crap. The majority of them always got mad too when called out and proven wrong. And the majority of the time they would just deflect and say it was the other person's fault and refuse to discuss anymore.

As much as I don't want to, I kinda have to defend Mandy here for several things. She doesn't work on weekends and even though she's technically employed as a community coordinator (to the best of my knowledge), she doesn't have much sway on what information can and can't be revealed. That all lies with the higher ups at bhvr- and I don't mean the devs I mean the actual higher ups, especially the shareholders. If there's no real answer then the shareholders will put a big middle finger to the notion of giving an answer because it would substantially hurt profits.

So, I don't think you guys are, but just in case you are don't blame Mandy, or any other Community Managers or Coordinators, because I'm pretty sure they don't really decide what information they can and can't say.

How is me asking a direct question with zero passive aggressive comments, name calling or sarcasm make you think I might be blaming her specifically for any lack of response to this thread to the point you need to make a post about it? Mandy is the moderator that posted on this thread stating she would try to find out more information, and since I can't @ a community manager on this without it getting stealth edited out of my post, is the only person it seems we can ask for a response from. It has been a while since she has stated she would try to find out more information and if you don't ask for it, you might not get it. I am not mad at anyone or wish any personal ill-will towards any member of the Dead by Daylight team.

That said, that doesn't mean I do not have the right to be frustrated about their lack of transparency and make posts pointing out it can be better.

see above post response for more detail, but you misinterpret what I wrote. I was discouraging that type of response, not saying that is what people do more than give constructive feedback. The norm is generally on forums that there is a large amount of negativity, regardless of the game.

Could they be more transparent, sure. They have said many times that they are working to improve the game based on feedback. That is because developers work in cycles and many aspects of development rely on what was done in the previous cycle.

They do not have to be specific with updates on what they tried and did not work, you are not the product owner. You are the consumer. If you would like more transparency, then ask for it. My guess is that they or community embassadors will try to meet that need if they see a large number of requests.

They have to know what to give priority to and there are (example) 200 posts on twitter and forums asking for cosmetics and none that are easily found asking for more communication or clarity. They have to manage the expectations of lots of players, while recently implementing crossplay and now mobile. you can criticize the methodology behind expanding when their game was not addressed at its core. That is valid. It is always hard to balance games with this many characters and with a team their size, while adding content, cosmetics, reworking killers, maps, items, perks. They have a lot of different requests pulling them in different ways.

I am not saying that your feelings are not valid or that you dont have a point. I am appealing to people for less negative forum posts and if everyone that posted (some to get people to empathize and join their side) submitted feedback and gave honest, and contrite feedback with even potential solutions, that would be time better spent at making changes.

You contradict yourself. You say "but I see many more troll or negative posts then posts to help have strong discussions and helpful critique" and when I call bs you say "I was discouraging that type of response, not saying that is what people do more than give constructive feedback".

You change your story. You say "I think it is on us as players to let them know we are okay with less content and more fixes" and when 2 of us point out that the community has, to the point they brought it up, you say "Remember they are a smaller company and a smaller dev team". Wouldn't less content development help a smaller dev team.

You say "They do not have to be specific with updates on what they tried and did not work, you are not the product owner. You are the consumer". I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you are not trying to be condescending, but this is condescending. I am not a child that needs you to tell me how business works.

I see your forum account is relatively new. Is that because you are new to the game or because you just didn't want to be part of the community until now? I have been in this forum since it was live and was in the steam forums before this. I don't have 1000s of posts because I look at what is being posted and if it's already being said, I like their post instead of creating a new one about the same thing. After awhile of seeing people ask for feedback and not getting any, you stop creating positive post and just start getting more direct about stuff.

You say "They layed out their roadmap and goals in the stream. If people want them to prioritize something else and they get an influx of those requests, do you think they will ignore it" and "They have to know what to give priority to and there are (example) 200 posts on twitter and forums asking for cosmetics and none that are easily found asking for more communication or clarity. Let me point you to a post that many people have been asking for more feedback on.

    This is a rant.

Recently, it's been getting more and more difficult to enjoy this game and to look over the glaring issues. The Console version of DBD is an absolute nightmare when it comes to optimization and trying to play the game in a similar way to PC.

I've reached my wits ends with the game constantly freezing and never getting above 25 FPS. How in the ######### am I supposed to counter a 360 if I am getting less than HALF of the frames I should be getting, I'm being denied visual information.

Have some videos demonstrating my point, if you have any of your own, please share them. Maybe we can get an answer out of BHVR about what happened to the Optimization we were promised if we make a big enough fuss.

I'll also ask you to go the the optimization section on this forum. There are 15 pages with about 30 threads on each page about poor optimization. The majority of them are still pending. Most of them don't even have a response from a mod or dev even asking for more information. Feeling ignored yet?

I think it is on us as players to let them know we are okay with less content and more fixes. They are also a smaller dev team and company.... and they are clearly trying with map reworks.... killer reworks... perk reworks.... it is on the user (us) to help guide them and try to be positive.

remember they have years and tens of thousands of hours working on this.... and being negative does not help... imagine working for years on somehting and someone expecting you to change by saying "this sucks, you dont play your game, listen to forums" That has to demotivate you, no matter how much you care about it.... not to mention it is not helpful. I am not saying you did this at all, just hoping people see this and decide to help build up the community.... and YES it is okay to get frustrated.... but I see many more troll or negative posts then posts to help have strong discussions and helpful critique. I hope we all build the community esp with new players coming, dont run them off!

Not all of the posts criticizing their decisions have been "this sucks" posts. There have been lots of well written posts explaining what the poster feels is wrong, why they feel that way and what they feel could be done to fix it.

And the community has brought up game health chapters many times. They even answered a question about it on one of their streams and said they didn't feel creating less content to focus on game health was needed. They also have a history of saying they are working on something or going to try something new that never comes and instead of saying "yeah, we said we were going to do this but it wasn't working so we changed our minds" they just don't say anything in hopes of ignoring it will make people forget.

  • I think most of the "Do this in a single trial" challenges are the ones I find frustrating. A lot of them can be done easily, but these are the ones that cause people to not play normally the most. Like the last Plague challenge that you pretty much had to camp to get done. Of even stun the killer this many times with a pallet in a single challenges I just camp pallets to get it and really don't even touch a gen. If it is do X pallet stuns regardless of number of matches I will just play normal and get it when I get it.

  • BHVR's unwillingness to talk with players about optimization issues to find solutions, constant and long term bugs that go unfixed, and dragging out of balance changes are what mostly have led to my decision to not spend more money on the game.

The grind to me is definitely excessive, and I don't feel it is just me being a completionist. I have almost 2000 hours in the game and I still have about 10 killers that don't have all the perks and no survivors that have all the perks. I only wasted P3ing two characters (it was before cosmetics) too. The majority of my survivors are still at level 40 because I have been concentrating on killers first.

And no matter how many people tell me, "you don't need every perk on every killer and you only need one survivor because they are just skins", that is not how I like to play. I like to play most of the killers and try lots of different builds on them. I like to play different survivors because I don't want to look at the same person the whole time. And what if I get a Survive with "Insert Survivor" challenge and a Perform Coop Action, or Heal 3 Health States, or Escape with a New Item. Those are all challenges I want to run different builds for.

And perks aren't the only part of it. There are a lot of killers that I haven't put blood points into for a while because they have all the perks that are running out of their better add ons. And since I've barely put any points in survivors, I'm almost out of med kits on all of them.

Most of us don't want to play this game like it is a part time or full time job just so we can have perks and items on our characters. If the grind were almost entirely on getting new items across the 48 characters, it would be fine. I don't need to have a perk grind to enjoy the game. The game play is what I find enjoyable.

All depends on the car loop. Come to think of it...I can't think of any. What I would suggest there is use cloak tlo force the pallet drop quickly. Instead of circling it 3-4 times until they drop it. Break it and let them run. Or follow them if they're heading to a tile you know is unsafe. But its better to force it quick and move on. Because you can just make it unsafe for the next time you're running someone through that area

@TicTac I agree with this. Usually I get on their butt and start uncloaking as we are getting to the pallet to force the pallet drop at safer pallets. If they start/continue to run the loop, I will get a hit before they are back to the pallet. Sometimes they stop to camp the pallet and get out of position just enough for me to block the drop animation. I don't try to avoid the stun, even if I don't have enduring. But you could bring it with spirit fury if pallets give you trouble. If they start to run away from the loop, I will cancel uncloak and get back on them.

Wraith has tons of build options. Before the buff I was running corrupt, bbq, pop and whispers and killing 80% of survivors and I don't main him and only had about 900 hours in killer at the time. I tried a Dowsey build for the hook obsession challenge that was very strong. It was Make Your Choice, Furtive Chase to make the unhooker the obsession, and Nemesis to give me 4 seconds of aura read on the obsession. I would hook someone, leave to find another survivor and when the person was unhooked, turn and head back to the hook. Nemesis would let me see which direction the unhooker was headed so I could get the one shot. It was fun for me to play but probably not a fun build for the survivors.

I don't think he is an S Tier killer, but he is very strong. Survivor teams that split up to do gens can give you trouble. but they give all killers trouble, especially if they know how to loop and evade. 99% of survivors in PUB matches are not tournament players, and just because they are rank 1, doesn't mean they aren't a potato. Same with killers. Just because you get and can stay at rank 1 doesn't mean you are a great killer. Ranking is so damn easy. You need to practice using each killer's unique powers to get good at them. Some are just easier to get good at than others.

  • I think he said when he first stopped it was because of the bugs that came out with Twins that made the game hard to play combined with terrible matchmaking that made the game too easy. I'm sure he just wasn't having fun anymore and the continued bugs and matchmaking were just enough to push him to another game.

  • I don't think anything will be done about this unless enough people that want it fixed stop spending money on the game. And then, they would have to connect the dots to why they are taking a revenue loss to people wanting better game optimization. They would probably think it was because of "toxicity" and try to create a new feature that performs a psych evaluation on players and ban them if they don't meet a threshold. Of course this would be after they have played 100 hours and spent 200 dollars on the game, logically.

  • I did Fear is your Weapon with Bubba on first try and I M1'd the first one. 60 seconds is a long time. The other one I had to camp. To do that one playing normally the stars need to align.

He is strong, but i also have a stupidly high kill average with Pyramidhead and i don't even have sound on. The problem is the ranking system is literal trash and they need to remove the safety pip to balance it out.

The solution to everything in this game is just remove the safety pip or make it hard to get..

I agree matchmaking many times gives lopsided matches. I did record enough data to be able to break survivors teams into categories. Full red tank teams my kill % was just under 70. I am a less than 2000 hour player that plays both sides and still make a lot of mistakes playing killer. I’m sure those with many more hours than me were even more dominate with him, especially because he is easy to learn and master.

I am not confident there will ever be a great ranking system for this game. And that’s why I don’t mind the 2 kill 2 escape average for the player base as a whole. I don’t ever plan to play in a tournament and don’t feel the game needs to be balanced around tournament players since the majority of games played are PUB matches.

  • Nope, I have decided not to spend anymore money on this game until BHVR solves a lot of bug issues, optimization problems, balancing, and reduces the grind. Since it is a licensed DLC I can’t buy with in game currency, won’t have to worry about grinding out this one.

  • You get a hit, cloak. If they leave the loop you can cut them off with your speed. If they stay at it or beat you to the next one, you position yourself to be able to burst either side of it and I usually get them as they are vaulting or throwing the pallet. If they start to run as you uncloak, cancel and chase them down and get them in the open. If they have a flashlight, you can dance around to avoid the beam. Many times they move a little out of position trying to correct their aim and you end up being able to block their loop. You have to use his speed, you can't just uncloak, hit them and continue chase while uncloaked unless they don't have a resource to use.
