I solely use toolboxes for sabo because gen rushing is boring.
I try my best to drop hooks in front of the killer and it usually gets me tunneled. Almost always worth it though ^_^
You could call that toxic, but killer mains are always saying games go too quickly and survivors need to do something else and that's exactly what I'm doing.
-
Main reason for ME personally:
I can play a killer match poorly and leave with between 16-18k.
I'd have to make it to the end of the match AND survive to get that same amount as survivor.
The majority of matches recently, I get tunneled or camped less than 2 minutes into the match and leave with 4k points.
Then you add the fact that half your teammates are trash, the community can be hella toxic, random lag spikes, broken ass hitboxes, and the fact that killer is more fun to play, it makes plenty of sense that you're finding less and less survivors.
I've run into way more BS in this game as a survivor than as a killer and I get tilted a lot more easily as survivor than killer.
-
Breaking ankles is fun. That's literally it. The chases.
I feel like it takes more skill to get away from a killer as a survivor than it does to play killer and catch a survivor.
As survivor, I'm always thinking "CAN I get away from this killer, or at least stall them long enough for my team to get things done.
As killer, I just think "I'm GOING to catch this person, it's only a matter of time." Things feel more guaranteed and therefore not as fun or thrilling
-
So the tldr of this post is:
Killer skill, good or bad, doesn't matter
Survivor skill, good or bad, somehow does matter.
Lol okay. So me getting 4ks with Doctor, Trapper, Huntress, and Wraith around ranks 5-8 were not a result of me being good, but somehow every survivor i played against being bad..... yeah okay sure
Every killer can be good in the right hands
-
That seems more fair and balanced
-
Pretty good idea overall.
Only changes I would make are:
- Remove the hazy vision effect (the Clown already has that, and it would make them pretty useless)
- Michael actually has to put in some effort to get his tier 3 exposed status on survivors. I think it's kinda silly to give it for free, 5 times in the same match with no effort.
Other than that, I have no complaints about this
@Jed_Olsen said:
"Each time a generator is completed all survivors will be affected by exposed effect for 20 seconds" lol everytime I see these fan made killers there's always a perk like "if a survivor drops a pallette their exposed for their next 5 trials" lol
.
Also, this comment had me cracking up. "the next 5 trials" lmao
-
What is the Wake Up bug? I've never used the perk and I haven't played much recently. Did something get changed because i thought it just helped gate opening speed
-
I couldn't be a DEV here because I would just make an announcement that any thread like this be closed immediately. You can't take out a game mode where casual friends just wanna hop on a game together and play. Sometimes, I don't even USE discord and we group up with no voice comms.
It's people forget what FUN and FRIENDS are and they just want to whine because they can't completely dominate the opposition with ease. It's a game. If one or two people get away, let it be. Live a little

@Guertena said:
My main problem is this thing "miss a hit and lose your skill, get stunned for 4 seconds and then wait until the gauge is full to use your skill again, to miss another attack etc etc" This is not cool, survivors knows how to 360 and I'm always missing the hit. Plus, the cooldown stun is too way big. Legion was FINE how it was, just needed the fix in the blades add-ons because of the infinite mend bug. People just disconnected because was boring play against Legion. Now it's easy play against Legion. That's the true.
- If you're missing the hits, that's an issue with you, not the character or the game.
- No. He was not even close to fine. There was absolutely no counter for a super fast killer that could vault pallets and stab like crazy with no consequences. And then when they were feeling really cheesy, could break line of sight to make your mend timer go down WHILE STILL CHASING YOU. So you either keep running and bleed out, or you stop to mend and get hit. Nothing was fine about that.
Legion is fine. Stop whining
-
I would argue that there are only 2 killers who NEED Ruin. Trapper and Hag, who both have things to set up. I've run every other killer with no Hex Ruin and gotten plenty of 3ks or 4ks.
My highest killer rank at the time was 5. And before anyone argues (well what about ranks 1-4), why should the game be balanced around such a small portion of the community when it works fine for everyone ransk 5-20? Or at least everyone with some skill. If you need Hex Ruin that bad, you probably just aren't that good at finding and catching people. Run whispers to locate people easier
-
For me, it was autohaven today. Now mind you Autohaven has a lot of variations.... but I was still in autohaven for the majority of my matches. Didn't see the asylum or the circus ONCE in 8 straight hours
-
I think the whole idea of RNG is that it's random....
However, I half agree because after streaming for 8 hours, the Exit Gates have literally been on the same side of the map in every stage except for the ones where's it's forced to different sides like The Game and to some extent, Lery's. Random my ass XD
-
I've never not had fun as killer. It's much for chill and relaxing for me.
My survivor games are fun as long as the killer doesn't camp or tunnel (so like 50% of the games). Kind of hard to have any fun when the killer puts you on a hook and never leaves until you die.
-
I think both of those are great ideas. Vigil can add back the ability to recover from exhaustion while running but at like half or a fourth of the normal speed.
-
The auras are awful on both sides. I think the killer has knock out every time someone gets downed because I spin my camera and don't see anyone on the ground. Then they get hooked and once that black circle disappears, I can't see their aura still. Awful for everyone involved

If you're dying immediately without being rescued tho then it can only help you. You have the tools to deal with this problem, use them or stop complaining.
It doesn't happen enough to waste a perk slot on it. And no. I just wanted to vent. Which I did and am allowed to do.
-
My issue with Deliverance (more than one) is:
- The perk becomes immediately useless if you are the first one found and hooked (since you can only Kobe off your first hook)
- There's much better perks to run in place of it and it feels like a wasted slot
- It denies someone else their altruism points (i know, a survivor who cares about other people getting points? amazing XD)
-
@pemberley said:
Yes and no about blood points. On paper, killers earn more. In actuality it’s a draw.
Because killer matches are at least twice as long as survivor ones, and it’s not always guaranteed to get x points especially against certain groups. So on one hand you have long matches and more blood points, on the other you finish faster for less but you’re guaranteed to get your points in a relatively timely manner...some nasty survivors try to make a killer dc or hold them hostage.
What do you mean?
On my bad killer games (which usually end in 2 kills), I walk out with around 22k easy (and I don't run Ruin unless I'm playing Trapper so most of my games are short). Even if I go for the absolute worst I've ever done as killer, I'll walk out with 15k easy.
On a bad survivor game, well.... that's what this post was about. 1,400 points. 3,200 the next. It would take me about 5-8 back survivor matches to come out with the same amount I'd get from my absolute worst killer matches. The amount of time does not balance that at ALL.
And survivors holding games hostages is a random side note, and a thing of the past so not sure why you brought that up... but okay
-
The fact that she had no kills and decided to do this shows her skills level already. Shouldn't be surprised she would pull a scummy move like that.
-
People are so hypocritical and completely lack empathy.
Just because someone is COMPLAINING about something, does not mean they think it is broken or OP or needs to be removed from the game. Ruin is annoying. That's a fact. Especially when you come across it 20 games in a row. And it's not the easiest thing to work through (although on my good days, I can without much problem). That doesn't mean I think it should be removed.
Devour Hope is annoying when you have a trash team that gets steam rolled and activates when you still have 4-5 gens left to do.
A really good Nurse, is unbeatable with no add ons.
All the things he complained about are annoying to deal with, but he/she is not saying they're OP or game breaking.
In the same light, there's people on this very same thread whining about freaking Borrowed Time which was literally put in the game as a balance to campy killers. So it's not okay for someone to be annoyed by killer perks, offerings, and other things, but it's okay to be annoyed and complain about survivor perks (borrowed time is not OP and if you think it is, maybe just stop camping and get better at the game?)
-
Hasn't happened to me, but I've seen it happen to randoms I play with. Killer even carried the dude close to hatch before closing it in his face (which I knew he was going to do).
I don't really care about this because it's just a new way of being toxic (like face camping). I laugh it off and then move on).
-
Hook sabo is really only something I do to troll. And I have to have like different hooks in the same area at 99% for it to even matter because when i drop the first hook, there's like 4 or 5 more within walking distance.
You don't need counterplay for something that is already weak

You were one hooked in two rounds despite even being in SWF?
Your teammates must've hated you.
lol clearly. One person was my friend, and the other 2 were her friends that I didn't know.
And yeah, trying to get bloodpoints on survivor is just dumb. You get crumbs, even if you carry the team.

This is steer feces!!!
No really, it is. Now it's greifing? It used to be holding the game hostage. Blocking the stairs for the last 3 years wasn't a priority!!! And that was before EGC! Killer used to hold survivors in there in a very real way for a very long time ACTUALLY taking the game hostage forcing a disconnect!!!! And NOW!!?? You solved that problem with EGC...but nooooooo, that wasn't good enough...after you solve the hostage problem, now survivors can just slip right past the killer.
You know, honestly, I can deal with the body blockers, I can deal with the flashlights, I can deal with looping and tea bagging....what I can't stomach is how you guys decide to fix a problem, then fix a problem that doesn't exist because you already fixed the problem!
So...NOW that you've proven collision is whatever you make it...how about dem body blockers? Still working as intended? Devs always thought survivors would just waltz right up to a killer and prevent them from making a hook? That about sum it up? Doesn't kill your immersion? Tea bagging survivors with flashlight running TOWARDS the killer....yeah.
You fixed the "problem" for one side and not the other. THAT'S my real problem.
EGC and the basement staircase are two different probably, not a solution to the staircase problem. They added EGC and as a chain reaction, NEEDED to make this adjustment so that players trapped in the basement would automatically die from a killer standing on a staircase doing nothing
-
"wah wah wah. I can't block survivors in for guaranteed unskilled kills. Wah, I can't chase someone while looking at the ground or moonwalking while their deep wounds meter runs down for a guaranteed kill with no skill. waaaah"
^ Summary of this post
I DO think they should have left the Pig Traps alone

@RoKrueger said:
So the survivors are welcome to the basement now, take what you want, it is no longer a dangerous place at all. The last bastion of killers' dread and power is gone :,-(
LMAO this is the most dramatic response I've ever read. boy bye.
If exploiting the ability to block a staircase for easy end game kills is your "last bastion of killers' dread", you need to uninstall the game because you were probably bad to begin with

oh wow...it's almost like your saying swf is'nt a problem but the killer killing you and ruining your fun as survivor is, how easy to say in one sentence~
Not really the truth but pretty close, in reality, the issue with swf is becuz of those groups you mention most people theink they are, these devs literally have an an easy way to fix the entire issue by simply...giving bp bonus to killers when against an swf or doing anything any other online game in existence has done to balance things against outside voice comms just in gameplay alone but nah, folks like you post, "there is no issue" when there very clearly is.
And one of those problems IS the toxicity.
LOL let's try reading next time. I did not say that a killer killing me ruins my fun. I said that some killers are complaining about their fun being ruined by going up against a SWF team, but will then turn around and face camp someone for 3 minutes until they die as which is not only boring for the person on the hook, but for the rest of the team as well. You can't complain about not having fun, and then do things that take the fun out of the game at the same time.
And I don't think a bloodpoint boost would mean anything to killer mains anyway. Killers already come out of the match with double or triple the amount of bloodpoints as the best survivor on the team (and that's not counting the bonus from Thrill of the Hunt, BBQ, or any offerings).
And as I've said in other threads, although I know the statistics are not set in stone indicators, on average a 4 man SWF team has a 49% survival rate. Of course some teams to better and some worse, which is why 49% is an average. So an argument could be made that SWF in practice, actually brings balance to the game. (2 live, 2 die). But we don't want to talk about that because that's a hard pill to swallow
-
@[Deleted User] said:
it won't be balanced. killers will keep getting buffed over and over. and eventually. all survivor mains will switch to killer. and this forum is already full of killer mains.
if they had a good game and killed all 4 survivors then " tHeSe wErE bAbIeS "
and if they didn't play well and sucked and let the survivors escape. then " sUrViVoR oP pLZ nERf "
i'm already switching to killer. and yes. killer is waaay easier than survivors.
and with tryhard builds. survivors will DC. because there's no way of winning
i'll probably play a few match and reach rank 1 easily. nurse literally have no counters. just basic line of sight mindgames that you can avoid the punishment for by using another blink. and yep. getting 4ks with nurse is easier than repairing a gen as survivor. nurse require skills? i literally played around 3 matches. i got rekted in them. but then i started destroying survivors easily. a bit same to repairing gens. if it's the first time for u in the game. you'll miss a lot of skillchecks. but after 3 or 4 gens. you'll stop missing them
I still play SWF when my friends are online, but recently I also switched to "killer main" when playing solo and I agree. I get 3-4 kills in 90% of my games easily while as survivor, I don't live anywhere near that percentage of my games. And the only times I've ever gotten tilted as a killer was when I miss a hit that would've hit me had I been the survivor.
Boy I've been hit by some crazy things that were clearly misses but when I go and have the same scenario as killer, I miss. tilts the hell out of me.
Other than that, easy games.
-
All these threads about SWF need to be closed for real, because they're a waste of time. Nothing needs to be addressed because there isn't a problem.
The real issue here is that people seem to think 4 man SWF = game breaking/toxic
I know plenty of friends who all play and stream together and they're average at best. People act like every 4 man squad is running the best perks in the game, knows how to run inifinites, and are all try hards and that's simply not the case.
So y'll come here complaining and wondering why your so-called "issue" is not being addressed, but there is no issue to begin with and you have this false idea in your head that 4 man SWF are all unbeatable, toxic, game breaking teams in here to ruin your killer experience.
I've played against 4 man SWF before and killed them all. I've played against 4 man SWF and only ended up with one kill before. I've played against 4 man SWF and hooked everyone twice without tunneling and without running Ruin and let them go just because I wanted to be nice even though I could have killed them all (basically toyed with them).
Whatever the outcome of the game, as long as the other side wasn't being toxic, suck it up and move on.
People want to say it's no fun to not be able to catch and kill people (which says something about your skill, not SWF) but then turn around and say "oh yeah, but face camping is a strategy. we don't care if it's not fun for that person or any of the other people who have to either try to make a crazy save, or play m1 simulator on a gen". You not having fun as a killer is dependent only on you. The survivor not having fun in a match is totally dependent on the killer. But yall don't see a problem with that *sips tea*

-
okay, time to address this mess.
SWF = Survive with friends.
It's a game mode for people who want to play with their friends.
Or if you're a killer main who only plays killer, it's 4 legendary skilled players who want to abuse the game and troll you. Every single SWF team are trolls and they ALL need to be nerfed, because ya know..... casual SWF doesn't exist.
Killers can just as easily figure out survivor perks in the same way that survivors can figure out killer perks so I don't even know why someone mentioned that as an argument.
An you're also not going to find many WHOLE teams running this build. I play killer and I can tell you, it's not really a common thing to come across an entire team running those builds. (No one in my friend group runs MoM except me on my Ash who I rarely play)
And then you mention buffing killers under the assumption that ALL SWF team are try hard and super skilled and killers have no way of beating them (which is provably false), but that doesn't take into account the majority of players who are running solo or in duos

So I'm not 100% in agreement with this idea although I think there is a version of it that would be relatively fair
However I want to address this nonsense people are saying about killers NOT having information in game?????? I don't see how knowing the location of every gen, your hex totem(s), and the exit gates once the gens are powered counts as NOT having in game information.... That's plenty of info.
Anyway, back the OP, I think the killer should see the survivor and the item, but not Steam name of the person playing. (Eliminates the potential to stream snipe). Pretty sure that's fair since I can't know who my killer is until the game is over. I think it would also decrease lobby dodging a little because some killers will check profile hours and all kinds of things and then dodge in the last 10 seconds on the match about to start like a hoe XD
-
Imagine people just wanting to play games with their friends and have fun...
It doesn't need to be addressed because the game balance s fine (below 50% even with 4 man groups).

What would be even more interesting is to see the distribution of those matches by rank. In other words, are the # of matches in higher ranks so much fewer in number that the occurrence of those 3-6% overall 4 person SwF matches actually -higher-? Or are high rank killers full of crap about “almost all matches are SwF”?
@Peanits - happen to have a breakdown like that handy?
I doubt it's that easy because when I am with a full party of my friends, we can be anywhere from rank 4 to rank 15 (depending on who I play with). Would they count our 4 man group as being "high rank" because of the one rank 4 or "low rank" because of the rank 12/15 in our group?
-
inb4 Killer mains saying "It's the basement. It's the killer's lair. This is totally okay."
As if it's JUST about the basement and not the fact that her body can block that much space ANYWHERE on the map

You forget that the statistics include Survivors who d/c as kills. Also, let not forget the amount of Survivors who die AFTER they have already won by powering the exit gates and opening the exit. Simply because they go suicidal altruistic to save that’s ONE DUDE who got unlucky and caught at the end of the match. You want real stats? Show me how many Survivors are alive/dead when the Gens are done. No endgame, and soon as the gens are done.
i bet you the ratio will be average of 50%+ of games have 3-4 Survivors alive at that point.
That makes no sense. A lot can happen in between the last gen popping at the survivors escaping "cough coughNOED cough* So why would you NOT count what happens after the gens are popped?
-
I only play Ruin on Trapper. Every other Killer, I run other perks.
But what I find interesting is that a lot of people here are saying Ruin is a MUST at Rank 1. But then I see some of the same people (or different people) in other threads saying that Ruin doesn't matter at rank 1 and only really affects low rank survivors.
So..... which is it?
-
Basically. Unless that person leaves the lobby, everyone else is stuck infinite loading. And it isn't even their fault. It's literally just the "pretty good job so far"
-
That is "SOME" progress. Somewhere in that lobby, there is someone's bar who is completely empty and when that person leaves, everyone else will load.
Sometimes, it's the killer and sometimes it's the survivors
-
So anytime you're in a situation like that and your loading bar shows some progress, there is always ONE person in the lobby whose bar has not progressed at all. I know this because I generally play SWF and when this happens to one of us and that person closes the game, everyone else loads normally.
If it goes on for a long time, it's simply because the person not loading is being selfish and doesn't want to DC from the game so everyone else can play
-
A Wraith caught me first, hooked me in basement, and then stood on the staircase until I died. Fun game XD
Other than that and the two face camping Spirits I went against, it's been pretty decent.
-
I don't say this to be mean, but just kinda my personal experience. When I first started playing, I ALWAYS ran Empathy and ALWAYS ran Premonition or Spine chill because they were my crutch perks at the time. I felt like I HAD to know who was being chased and where. I felt like I HAD to know which direction the killer was coming from.
As I got better at the game, I didn't need them anymore because I have my basic map knowledge and game knowledge to figure those things out for myself without wasting the two perk slots.

OP = over powered
And as you pointed out so nicely they are between 1-8% over the base power of survivors.
Would you advocate for a 8% action speed buff for solos? Or would you prefer a more individual 1/5/8% nerf according to SWF members?
If 8% is no big deal, why doing we give it a try?
Wouldn't that punish killers giving solos high stats?
This is how I see it.
With 4 people on a team, 1 person is 25%, 2 people is 50% and so on.
49% survival rate basically means that on average with a 4 man squad, 2 people will always escape and 2 people will always die.
41% for solo survivors means on average, between 1-2 will always escape and 2-3 will always die.
But 41% is still closer to 50% of the team surviving than it is to 25% of the team surviving. It might just be that one of the two survivors was on last hook or barely escape. So mathematically, that 8% survival rate still adds up to about 2 survivors escaping each match, but just leans slightly more towards a third kill for the killer.
