  • This game is all about timing... Having the Killer stand in one spot for 30 seconds is to long

Also the changes would fit Det. Hoffman more then Amanda

  • Also the fact that the area of Aura Reading is so small... making it 8-10M would help it (for the most part)

But then again Hangman's Trick is outclassed by other perks

    Thank you for the opinion!

What if these modified hooks count as Scourge Hooks?

That way the killer could choose where to place them, taking advantage of it. In addition to the other benefits of the perk.

Then the perk name would be Scourge Hook: Hangman's Trick

  • Stop caring about what the Survivors do at the end game... if you tried that's all that matters

Trust me I've had it happen more then a few times

  • Honestly it just needs to be reverted

But why would the Killer take this perk when Scourge Hooks exist

Having Hooks take longer to sabo sounds best as of right now

If these ideas were to her addons it would be a different story

  • Ruin (before the nerf)...

    1) It's a totem so it can be cleansed

    2) It was for Killers that got Gen pressure

    3) It only increased the regression rate by .25 (Base Gen regression is .25) so it equals out to be .50

And yes to the others the person before me has said

  • Define decent... cause your examples are players that are above decent

Pig can ruin Solo Queue... but I don't see that being said

SWF can ruin Pig... but I don't see that being said

I would call myself decent at Pig... I still make mistakes just like anyone else... same can be said for those Solo Queue players and Nurse and Blight players

  • Aura reading perks are just as used as Gen regression perks are

So it goes without saying limiting the information that the Killer gets is good enough on it's own

  • I mean... yea we all know that it's fast

    1) Perks

    2) Maps

    3) Survivors alive

Have something to do with it

  • Yes... on both sides

    Killer: for not chasing

Survivor: for not progressing a Gen

Also adding in the fact that the Killer found a 3 Gen at the start makes it seem like the Killer is at fault more then the Survivors

    Just my opinion though

  • It'll also stop bodyblocking... which is good

But a lot of other things are already perks in the game... why would you suggest adding more perks to basekit at this point

  • DH is a problem cause of the "on-demand" press of a button

And subtle cheaters like scripting it to auto DH when the Killer swings

You cannot address only one side of the tunneling. Survivors need to stop tunneling generators just as much as killers need to stop tunneling survivors.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3336638#Comment_3336638

Base killer regression is 1/4th of one survivor and there are 4 survivors. The killer should be 1:1 with a single survivor if four survivors are alive. Reduce the speed by 25% for each dead survivor. We should not need to use 2-3 regression perks to be able to get value out of kicking a generator.

I like that idea.... makes sense

  • Dying Light:

There's a lot to say about this perk....

    1) I would increase the slowdown to 6%

    2) I would cap the stacks to 6

    3) I would also give the obsession stacks as well... going from 0% up to 33% but goes away if the obsession switches

    Oppression:

Seems that this perk doesn't increase the regression rate for anything... Maybe lessen the cooldown to like 40-50 seconds

But the information gained from combining Surveillance and Oppression... makes Oppression better (IMO)

Also I would make Surveillance better by taking the information part of Call Of Brine... it would make sense (IMO)

  • Hillbilly, Hag, Deathslinger

Just my observation... but none the less

  • It would be a good idea after a few (a lot of) perk changes... and base game changes

And even then it would mean even more commitment (I.E. faster updates)

Also us players can't stick to 6-7 perks... it's also up to us to change our attitudes about perks

  • I mean when I started playing the game it was scary... minding my own business in a Gen then turning around to see a Mickey staring holes in me... I flinched said a phrase that I can't type and ran away

But after playing for so long it feels more like Scooby-Doo then anything (minus the music)

Even at the end of the match and realize that it was another player (much like unmasking in Scooby-Doo)

  • Other then fixing the symptoms why not fix the real reason for it....

Increase the base Gen regression... and change the regression perks if they are to much

  • If I Kill 2/4 every match that would be worthwhile

  • Ok so I do feel the same about all of these Tunneling posts... but rather then making another post talking about those that you have read... why not make your post by pointing at why their ideas would be terrible

Like pointing out base Gen Regression VS. base Gen progression isn't fair

Base Gen regession is .25 charges per second which means 4 seconds to take off 1.0 charge

Now let's compare that to Gen progression...

Base Gen progression is 1.0-2.2 (depending on how many Survivors are on the Gen)

Great skillchecks grant a bonus of 1%... and by completing a decent number of them one Survivor can complete a Gen in the same amount of time as a Gen with all 4 Survivors on it

  • Surveillance and Oppression... it's not as good as others but it's underrated

Corrupt and Whispers... go toward the blocked Gens until Whispers activates

Surveillance and Whispers... One for Gens and the other for Survivors

Now put all of those perks together... Oppression, Surveillance, Corrupt and Whispers

Plus hearing a Gen being worked on the walking up to it like "What'cha dooooiiinng" is hilarious

  • I do agree with adding Incapacitation to Vigil

  • Iron Grasp is in a good spot... the only reason it doesn't see play is the Gen situation

If BHVR buffed base Gen regression we would see more perks being used and the "meta" would be Killer dependent not perk dependent

  • Tremors... for sure would be nice to see and play as... but if they made a map it would be Eyrie Of Crows like

Det. Hoffman... would be nice to have another Killer from the SAW series and one that doesn't need to sneak around... And the map could be the Zoo from SAW 6... but I don't know if he'd share the RBT's or have his own power

Spiderman... I would laugh out loud if they put him in the game... especially as a Survivor whom has a unique ability to sling webs to slowdown the Killer... either on Gens, Pallets, Other Survivors and Windows... but not for mobility

Dude this isn't a eSports tournament game. It's.meant to be a casual game. It's not league or call of duty. You are confused about what game you are playing. The majority of players in DBD is casuals who don't want to spend hundreds of hours fine tuning there skills. Some people have lives and other ######### to do.

Soooo... Call Of Duty is a casual game unless you're a pro

Call Of Duty was meant to be a casual game...

IDK about League Of Legends... nor do I care (I don't play the game)

So what games do you consider casual (no single player games... cause comparing the two would be like comparing apples to oranges)

When you do please do use it. We need more variety in builds from both sides.

I will also use different perks :)

Alright... so my build for now is

    STBFL, Surveillance, Corrupt, Whispers

    I hope that works

But I might have to prestige a few Killers... but there you have it

Yeah I don't see surveillance anymore. It's sad it's forgotten

I would use it... but I can't play right now

  • I am just as surprised...

Same can be said for Surveillance... but that gets over Call Of Brine

  • Survivor:

    Renewal: Nothing comes to mind

This Is Not Happening: Get rid of it but give the benefits to Resilience

    Premonition: Nothing comes to mind

Potential Energy: Nothing comes to mind but to not nerf the perk

Technician: Maybe giving a bonus to hitting greats... seems that it doesn't give the Killer a loud noise notification and you lose more progress for missing a skillcheck

Mettle Of Man: Nothing comes to mind other then making it 2 protection hits

Buckle Up: Giving it additional healing bonus to dying Survivors

Visionary: Doesn't need changes.... it's good for what it does

Self- Preservation: Doesn't need to be change... but it is to situational

Boon: Dark Theory: I don't know what to do with it...

Corrective Action: There isn't much you can do with this perk

Inner Focus: Nothing I can think of

Calm Spirit: Revert it back to what it was

    Killer:

Claustrophobia: I can't think of anything

Deerstalker: Nothing... it is situational though I will give you that

Distressing: Nothing... unless they clear up the description and put in actual numbers

Insidious: I can't think of anything... Unless you treat this perk like Lethal Pursuer and gives Undetectable for X more seconds

Unrelenting: Nothing needs to be done about this perk

Blood Echo: Nothing comes to mind

    Gearhead: Revert it

    Deathbound: Nothing comes to mind

Dragon's Grip: Nothing comes to mind

Hex: Crowd Control: Nothing comes to mind

    Dissolution: Nothing comes to mind

    Terminus: Nothing comes to mind

Hex: Face The Darkness: Nothing comes to mind

Unnerving Presence: Increasing the skillcheck trigger odds by either 5% or 10%

Predator: Maybe give it a directional instead of tightening the scratch marks

    Bloodhound: Nothing comes to mind

    Shadowborn: Nothing comes to mind

    Thanatophobia: Revert it

Dying Light: 6% per stack and cap the stacks at 6... total of 36%

Hex: Ruin: Either make it 200% and deactivatable or make it 100% but no deactivation

Beast Of Pray: Nothing comes to mind

Territorial Imperative: Nothing comes to mind

Hex: Huntress Lullaby: Nothing comes to mind

Overwhelming Presence: Nothing comes to mind

Fire Up: Nothing comes to mind

    Hangman's Trick: Revert it

Surveillance: Add the information from Call Of Brine

Furtive Chase: Nothing comes to mind

  • The % doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things... AKA easily repaired

The thing that bothers players is not knowing if and when someone goes down and not doing anything useful for 25 seconds

And players want the Incapacitated status removed without realizing that it's the Incapacitated status effect is what's keeping the game going for Killers

So a lot of players will want it removed... so much so that they will come up with reasons as to not go with another option

But giving Eruption a cooldown (as to limit is use) and decreasing the incapacitated status effect to like 10 seconds would work

  • Ok so what causes Tunneling? And why can one side get away with doing it but not the other???

Gens being done- that's a given... but it isn't the end of the world (is it worth more to lose a Gen or 2 at the start of the match or the last 2 Gens and the gates being at 99%)

Bodyblocking- that's a choice made by the Survivor (whom just got unhooked)

Quick Saves- that's a choice made by the Survivor (whom just got the save)

MMR screw job- it could happen...

SWF's- not so much... but the Killer can't see if it's true or not

Map- sure why not... Maps are either Killer sided or Survivor sided not many that are truly balanced

Now on the Survivors side... cause they do it as well... but it isn't brought up as much

Early hooks- fair enough... A way to gain pressure

Gen perks- ok... might as well finish a Gen before the Killer can get any regression on it

Maps- same as I said before

    MMR screw job- it happens

Killer camping- yes might as well get all of the Gens done that you can

3 Genning- mostly Survivors fault... but a Killer can force it

Start of the match- yes cause the Killer doesn't have any pressure... but chose wisely (see point above as to why)

Gens being harder to do- that's a bit shaky but whatever

Simply knowing what a teammate is doing does not put solos anywhere near the level of a SWF good comms. I've benched players for bad comms and denied players outright after tryouts because of comms. "I'm on a gen"'/"I'm on a totem" are not comms. You're telling the team nothing by saying that. The person in chase has no idea where "the gen" is. A comp call-out is "I'm on a gen (here) at (percentage)" or "I'm in a chase (here) going (there). I used (pallet)." The new HUD for solo queue doesn't even begin to approach that. Basic SWF comms do very little against a good killer, and very few SWFs have good descriptive comms.

Explaining all that makes so much more sense to me now....

Also that I was going to say something really similar... but without any knowledge of what I was going to say... LOL

Spine chill didn't require LoS and instead was just if the killer is looking in your direction.

    Right I know

  • Worth while for Lethal Pursuer

But how would that work for BBQ???

See the killer for the first “x” seconds of the game and extend all aura reading effects by “x” seconds. Let’s see it.

    Object of Obsession.

This would work as an effect for it

I mean why make a perk when one already exists

  • Or to not care about grades

It's only there for BP at this point

  • Some players just play the Pig like every other Killer

Others don't like the RBT's and don't want to have them be taken off so easily

While a few know what they are doing... even though they too don't like Survivors taking off the RBT's easily

  • But see Tunneling works for both sides....

    Survivors Tunnel Gens

    Killers Tunnel Survivors

Plus Survivors are on Gens other then Healing or saving

  • @Saiph said:

Ah yeah, the usual "BHVR must buff killers or I will tunnel survivors".

    Notice a pattern:

BHVR brings killer-sided patch 6.1. Killers reaction -> "Yeah but still gens go too fast, we have to tunnel to win".

BHVR adds Reassurance. -> "That's it, killer is dead, we'll have to tunnel to win now"

BHVR reveals that killer has a historically high 60% winrate. -> "Yes but still, we have to tunnel otherwise we can't win."

BHVR adds solo queue indicators: "Yep, definitely can't win without tunneling now."

At this point, if you really want to tunnel that bad just do it bro, you don't have to announce it to the world. In fact, you're not fooling anybody, most of you are already hardcore tunneling, and the reason you can't win without tunneling anymore is not because the game is more survivor-sided but just because your MMR has increased and now you're getting matched with tryhards like you...

OP's next post will be something along the lines of "I'm only getting matched against SWFs please BHVR let us dodge and remove MMR".

If survivor is that strong please go play it and also record your gameplay so we can admire your insane win streaks. You're so oblivious to solo queue state that you probably haven't even realized that sloppy/mangled bug makes it unplayable right now, it's a waste of time like it has always been but now you can't even sit at a gen because you're healing and mending and getting erupted every 2 minutes.

It's cause the base Gen regression is too low... and the base Gen progression is too high

Base Gen progression is 1.0-2.2 charge(s) per second

Base Gen regression is .25 charges per second

And even with perks it's only even for 30 seconds.... 30 charges

%s don't matter so don't start with it

Then hitting greats and Gen boosting perks matter

  • It's the fact that base Gen regression doesn't even compare to base progression

Then add in Gen perks... there's more Killer then Survivor

The highest regression rate is 400% (which is the same as base progression) which is 2 perks combined (Call Of Brine and Overcharge) and it only lasts for 30 seconds

The highest 22.5% (Pop and base)

Corrupt blocks the 3 farthest Gen (from the Killer's spawn) for 120 seconds and Deadlock blocks the Gen with the most progression for 30 seconds

Prove Thyself removes 15% of Gen slowdown when multiple Survivors are on the Gen

Toolboxes save about 20 or so seconds

BNP's auto complete 25% of a Gen in about 5 seconds give or take

  • I don't understand why either....

But I can't tell everyone to play her differently...

  • @Ithiria said:

The killers are really only that far from eachother at a top level, and I'm not even talking top 5%, I mean top 1%.

In the stats BHVR did release, for all mmrs, and top 5% MMRs, the killers weren't that far off from eachother. Ironically, nurse actually is the worst killer if we use all MMRs for statistics, because you can't not use her power and it's hard to aim on console.

If you ask me, the reason they're so close is because the average killer plays pretty dirty and tunnels and proxy camps a lot. When you do that, even killers like trapper become extremely effective. Otzdarva even did a perkless challenge demonstrating this, where he still achieved a good kill-rate overall due to playing like a war criminal. The actual average survivor is awful at looping too, so them being basic m1 killers doesn't hurt THAT much.

I think that's why really good killers lean towards using the best killers, because they're powerful enough that you can win while still playing fair and not stacking slowdown.

It's not just Killers Tunneling... it's the Survivors doing the same thing with Gens

Don't take this the wrong way but... what's the Killer supposed to do

No Camping- Survivors complained about it

No Tunneling- Survivors complained about it

No slugging- Survivors complained about it

No 4 Slowdowns- Survivors complained about it... and on top of that No Eruption

No AFK- Survivors complained about it

But what about from the Killers perspective....

Gens being Tunneled... but can't run perks to help... and on top of that base Gen regression being what it is

Quick saves- but can't Camp and can't Tunnel (again)

No Slugging... but healing is a small issue

Can't AFK.... cause Survivors don't get points

The Gen kick "meta" is a big deal cause there are perks that synergize... the same as all of the other "metas": Hit & Run, Ruin & Pop, Ruin & Undying... and Survivors running "second chances", Gen speed

  • No it's not us hating on BHVR... it's just we want to give them constructive feedback...

Well some of us can't articulate what we want to say... others just don't want to articulate and just say "Nerf this or Buff that"

Cause we play the game and they make the game... so it's more like mutual understanding then anything

  • Some Killers do better with Aura Reading and others do better with Gen slowdown

Some players feel better with Aura Reading and others do better with Gen slowdown

Some Maps do better with Aura Reading and others do better with Gen slowdown

Blight, Huntress and Nurse do better with Aura Reading

Pig, Legion and Trapper do better with Gen slowdown

I mean it's something that doesn't need to be changed but we as players need to understand the Killers we play and the playstyles that are most effective

  • Spine Chill worked the same way... but it's only when the Killer was looking at you

But anyway... It's a perk that Survivors can use

  • @csandman1977 said:

True but usually in SWF you know the people that you are playing with. You can know and plan accordingly for it.

If we are friends then it's more jokey then anything

But if we formed the SWF with the game in mind then yes more important comms

  • How long has this been a thing... this is the first I've heard about it

  • I mean the same can happen in a SWF... one calls out something and the others ignore it

Then again it's up to the player: To get the acknowledge the information, and do something about it

  • But the fake would take longer to "recover" from.... Seems BHVRish

Like look at Huntress... takes one of her hatches raises it above her head then puts it away while still in the hatchet ready movement speed and can't swing for a second (but it feels like forever)

1 … 20 21 22 23 24 … 108
