Them: I'm "tunneled" all the time!
Me: Prove it.
Them: Trust me, bro.
Scott Jund: The facts show you're not being "tunneled" very much at all.
BHVR: Better add more assists to help with the "tunneling" problem instead of realizing we're being manipulated by liars.
Facts show tunneling happens to the reporting player in about 27% of matches.
How many Survivors per match? Four. Completely conceivable that someone, at the very least, feels like they're being tunneled in every match.

You’re severely underestimating OTR. Try it if you have it. The amount of times you get hit immediately off hook are probably 1 in a 80 games just going from my experience. Even if you get hit, no grunts of pain, no pools of blood and your aura can’t be read for 80 seconds. It is a very good anti tunnel perk, can easily be better than DS. If you are frequently getting hit off hook immediately then your teammates are very, very bad.
So it punishes people that don't actually tunnel just like I said it would when it first got buffed, crazy.
Not really on my teammates when the Killer has massive slowdowns and proxying on their side, either unhook or let me hit a-stage, at least with one I have a fighting chance.

I'm not sure why there should be a distinction here. Tunneling is happening, whether it's happening to you or one of your teammates.
Asking if YOU got tunneled lowers the rate. I don't get tunneled every match, but I do see others get tunneled in almost every game.
-
@Neaxolotl said:
I know, the fact majority of survivors not even bringing OTR really tells there is not much of tunneling from the beginning
Because OTR doesn't help against players planning to tunnel???
OTR is useless if I hit you off hook lmao
-
One of his issues was that he specifically asked if YOU got tunneled, not if you saw tunneling.
Being tunneled 27% of the time actually seems to support the idea that tunneling is fairly frequent.

DS just needs some updates.

And how unserious and over the top is part 1 compared to the rest of the series?
Because i am, or at least was, a firm believer that only purely horror anime and mangas should be allowed to be added to DBD if there ever was to be any in the game.
It's still anime, but Part 1 does take itself pretty seriously as it was the initial pitch for the series. You can take a lot more risks when you're established.
There are few villains more evil than Dio, fewer still with as much charisma and sass. Couple that with some cool and pretty varied powers, and you could have a decent Killer. Freeze on contact, pressurized blood shooting from eyes, regeneration, hypnotism, super strength and speed, etc etc
I mean, Hellsing is pretty much pure action-horror and it takes itself less seriously than JoJo's Part 1.

Hey hey hey, Part 1 is firmly entrenched in gothic horror.

I don't think it's that bad. The vast majority of frustrating survivor matches are because of mismatches. You're feeling frustrated because the game in many ways is tailored for you to win (base anti-camp, anti-tunnel, 4%ing, big hitbox on the hooked survivor, fast gens, etc). But your teammates' inability to understand basic mechanics or have game sense gets you killed, or perhaps being put with a far more skilled killer will. Every update, despite all else, there's a survivor buff. But this is fruitless, because you cannot balance the game around survivors who don't know that they win by doing gens. No amount of buffs will make that caliber of player win against killers, consistently. Sometimes even they escape vs killers, and will tbag, because they don't realize the only reason they're all there in that exit area is because the killer got unlucky and chased the 1 or 2 survivors who knew how to loop.
This event has nothing to do with anything, and neither did Chaos Shuffle, because they were temporary modes. The match results of these modes in no way reflect the game's balance, because of how different their rules are and because they don't have MMR turned on. You're letting the bad taste of your results in a different game mode stay in your mouth when you go back to the regular mode. And the BP available is a big aspect of it, but I feel that people want the best of all worlds, and they're just not gonna get that. You can't opt to play the mode for the extra BP, and waste time doing chests and totems for the extra BP, and then complain you're not winning.
Sure, I'll agree that insta- breaking pallets and hooking, and enduring stuns, is probably stronger than Quiet Mode, blocking windows, and spawning in pseudo pallets. But I want to dive into each of these. Insta-breaking pallets is strongest when the survivor is blocked in, because they can't slide over it mid-break, but those are all at weaker pallets in which case they'd probably take a hit anyway. And the insta-hook doesn't stop flashlight saves, pallet saves, or DS, but it does cut out the long treks that the killer has to take to hook people. That to me isn't the killer gaining a significant advantage; they're losing a huge disadvantage which is there arbitrarily. And enduring pallet stuns is fine, and is the counterbalance to the event pallets, but it's mostly useful as a replacement for Enduring while running Spirit Fury, freeing up that perk slot.
Quiet Mode is good in a vacuum, because in a game so dependent on killers needing to track survivors, the game has really bad sounds for them to go off of, and this ability exacerbates the problem. Aura perks barely affect it either, because most are used out of chase, and this ability is used almost always during chase. Blocking windows comes in clutch many times, because at tiles like killer shack the killer sometimes has to vault to shorten the chase, or they have Bamboozle, and this ability denies that. I made a Legion see red and chase me for 5 gens, and I still escaped, because of blocking window during his ability. Now something I'll heavily disagree on is the supposed weakness of event pallets. They're literally pallets, but with skill, just like weak pallets. You have to win the mind game or know the timing to get the stun to get the benefit. I feel that recently pallet stuns hitboxes have been scaled back to be more reasonable, which makes Spirit Fury/Enduring harder to use, but also makes these pallets weaker. But it's still a pallet. In some cases you've got like 4 pallets within a 10 foot area, because they're spawnable in spots where pallets can spawn, even if one didn't spawn there this game or if it's been dropped and broke already. The killer's not successfully avoiding all of these stuns, because even though pallet stuns are less ridiculous these days, there's still those survivors who basically don't throw a pallet down unless they're gonna the stun. On those survivors, this ability is absolutely broken. And I know not every survivor is that good, but then again, neither are all the killers you're complaining about.
So if you need to play something else (like Civilization, right?) and come back then do it. But I'm not seeing what you're seeing, which is survivor just getting weaker and weaker over time. Their meta has been the same since 2016, whereas killers have to change theirs every 3 months, and I'll say they no longer have gen defence to rely on. These events also prove nothing except the results that happen within themselves, and that the devs are going full-on millennial humor because of that cringelord floating lady.
I really do start to wonder if we even play the same game.
At a certain point, you have to wonder if it's a you problem, since literally no one else is having these experiences.
I mean, " In some cases you've got like 4 pallets within a 10 foot area"
" But I'm not seeing what you're seeing, which is survivor just getting weaker and weaker over time. Their meta has been the same since 2016,"
"That to me isn't the killer gaining a significant advantage; they're losing a huge disadvantage which is there arbitrarily."
Like, dude, you gotta self-reflect at some point.

It's funny how you say Killers can just D/C, but that action invokes a penalty. Removing suiciding on hook would force survivors who want to quit to d/c otherwise they risk getting banned if they are intentionally throw the game.
If you absolutely refuse to play against Skull Merchant then don't queue for a mode where facing her is a possibility. Find other people for customs who will agree to not play Skull Merchant.

This is beyond Dc’ing which is handled automatically. It’s that people openly admit to breaking the Unsportsmanlike conduct rule, and since it “can’t” be enforced it creates a loophole to ruin other player’s games.
Pulsar, I like you. But you have a way with words in that it feels like you are trying to convince me that purposefully losing the game against SM is somehow not purposefully losing the game under the Unsportsmanlike rule.
Giving up against a Killer you don’t like is Unsportsmanlike conduct, full-stop. It may be protesting conduct but it’s still against the rules.
Ask a CM or Mod for clarification then.
Is letting go on hook, not playing optimally or otherwise giving up a bannable offense.

Giving up just because it’s SM is breaking the rules and players must be held accountable for that.
Yeahhhhh, no.
Those rules are not up to date, so far as I remember, they have remained exactly the same since I started playing SIX years ago, while the rules on the website were updated in late 2023. As we know, reporting for DC'ing isn't something you should be doing. If it isn't mentioning in the list literally on this website, it's not a bannable offense, no matter how much you want it to be.
So stop sending false reports lol

“Report this player for purposefully losing the game”
It’s a form of ragequitting which is indeed reportable.
It is not, actually.
Once again, here are the rules.
You can very clearly see that giving up on hook is not bannable.
Unless a Dev/CM has clarified and you have that source, stop spreading information that is false.

Yeah it’s a huge problem that players can hide unsportsmanlike conduct behind being “bad” at the game.
At the end of the day we know that people are hook suiciding against SM. It’s unsportsmanlike and unfair for the Killer and Survivor players who want to play as and against her. Regardless of why they do it, it’s still wrong. They’re still ruining games for people who want to innocently enjoy the game on its own merits.
Every person who engages in any kind of sabotage when SM is in play should be reported.
It is not against the rules, so do not report them. All you will be doing is further muddying the waters and creating more work for BHVR to do when it comes to tackling real reports.
This is no different than reporting for tunneling or camping or teabagging.
If you need a refresher on the DBD Game Rules they can be found here:

If you really can't handle facing skull merchant, then play customs with people who agree to not play her.

Likewise, you are talking about banning new players and bad players.

Well, here’s the thing… we do both; enforce the rules while gathering data.
Pulsar, I hope you aren’t suggesting that it’s okay to break the rules for things you personally dislike.
Killing yourself on hook has never been bannable.
Things can change, of course. DC'ing wasn't bannable when I first played either.
Ultimately, there is no way to enforce this kind of thing. If you stop people from suiciding on hook, they'll stop playing optimally. You certainly can't ban people for being bad, or looking like they're bad.

Until the devs “fix” SM then yes. I see that breaking the rules of the game and committing reportable offenses is a type of protest but it’s still against the rules and can be reported.
Until then the people who love to play SM and play against her are caught up in yet another Survivor-Bhvr child-parent fight. It’s old.
Perhaps instead of blaming people from moving on from an unpleasant experience, we should instead attempt to discover why the experience is so unpleasant to so many people.
-
@HerInfernalMajesty said:
Just because some Survivors irrationally hate her doesn’t mean she should be ruined for the rest of us that love to play against her.
Every player who refuses to play against her should be reported so that their account can suffer a suspension and ultimately a ban if they want to keep ruining games for people.
We should not reward bad behavior.
"Simply ban 90% of the playerbase for an issue with the Devs design."

And yes the devs want the killers to be at 60%. So you saying she doesn't need to be there is of course completely wrong and biased. If the Devs say they want all killers to go to 50% I would stop asking for buffs lmao. I have Shiny Pin which is pretty solid, it should be basekit.
Honestly me and you have talked about this before for probably 100+ comments. While I always bring up stats, facts and evidence's the constantly point to her needing tweaks. Its pretty clear I cant rationalize my way past survivor bias with all my points so I give up at this point.
Calling me a Survivor main is like calling a player with 4K hours on Killer and 500 on Survivor a Survivor main…..oh wait
You really think Nurse needs buffs? Talk about a controversial opinion lol. Best Killer in the game needs buffs, Freddy needs nerfs.
-
Not super sure why you would play Survivor in this event tbh.

This is old hat at this point and still nobody has any valid reasons for her not needing them. I’ll go through it one more time.
She has a low kill rate in GENERAL MMR. She ALSO has a low kill rate at HIGH MMR. She is in the BOTTOM 5 of kill rates. SHE FACTUALLY NEEDS BUFFS TO MEET THE 60% KILL RATE TARGET.
And a few small number tweaks bumped nobody out of being tweaked either, they did like 10 killers at once. Meyers and Freddy are getting full changes on their own so this has zero effect on them.
Her power may be easier to land but she is the only one who depends on lockers and has to drop chase to reload besides tricky of course. She is also the only one who has her power gutted by indoor maps and cluttered maps. Also Cannibal is way easier to land his power AND it insta downs.
I’m STILL waiting for anybody to provide me with any singular piece of evidence on why it was a bad change.
I don't think you'd accept any evidence lol
She doesn't need help. Not every Killer needs to be at that dumb 60% KR.
You don't see calls for Huntress to be buffed. The only thing you ever see about her is complaining about the hatchet hitboxes. If the DBD community can't find something to complain about on a Killer, that means it's probably pretty good.

@HexHuntressThighs said:

Obviously 5% is a huge difference otherwise they would’ve made her 115% a long time ago. Or they would’ve made shiny pin basekit. Trickster moves at 96% when charging, 99% with add ons, PP head moves at 110 when charging, Slinger moves at 92% when charging, Billy and Bubba move at 92% when charging and are insta down killers, Xeno moves at 115% and has no telegraph of a tail attack.
So you tell me, why should she stay at 77% again?
Because she's fine as is.
Her power is easier to land than everyone other than Trickster, but he needs to land a few knives.
She didn't need the buff and it was weird they decided to focus on her instead of Killers that actually need help.
-
I am hoping this is setting up a larger bugfix.
If they get rid of his bugs, he's not in a bad spot. Being able to cycle Guards is extremely strong. Having CTA basekit, partially, is good.

CoD, Battlefield, Halo, etc etc
Are you real? Did you just mention 3 of the most competitive games out there, including the one game that started all the "strict MMR sucks the fun out of a game" debate, as examples of "balancing for the majority"?
Pretty much every casual-oriented game doesn't balance for the 1%.
"[…] where a game with a high skill ceilling / time investment requirement". Casual games don't require high skill or time investment because they are designed to be easy to learn and play. But even in those games, there is a certain level of skill requirement and challenge, because if everybody were granted a Crown in every match of Fall Guys, then what is the reason to play?
Now look, if you want to balance for say, idk, 200 players over the other 59,999,800 players, be my guest. It just shows why some of us aren't devs lmao
No, I don't want to balance for "200 players" and never said that, on the contrary, I already said to you that a game should not be balanced around the top (pro players) or the bottom (the ones that, after hundreds of hours, still don't do well) of the player base, no matter how many players are on either side.
But a competitive game should not be balanced "for the majority" either. It should be balanced around those that invest the necessary time to learn and get good at the game, and doing so should feel rewarding. Because the moment it doesn't and any challenge is removed for the sake of "making the game so everybody can do good", people lose interest pretty quickly as there is no reason to invest a large amount of time in it.
I literally originally said balance for the majority of players.
And everyone hated the CoD changes because it ######### with the casual playerbase. A game with competition =! Competitively balanced.

@Batusalen said:

You only balance for the majority if you want the game to live.
Except every instance that I know where a game with a high skill ceilling / time investment requirement has been balanced "for the majority", which usually means making the gameplay easier, removing any challenge and rewarding minimum effort in the process, has lost players. Perfect study case: World of Warcraft, to the point of having to bring back the old version of the game after telling their users "No, we are not going to bring back the vanilla game, and you don't want us to do it, really".
So, tell me what multiplayer / live service game do you know that was balanced to appeal to the "unskilled masses" and maintained their playerbase to affirm that it is the way to go if you want "the game to live".
CoD, Battlefield, Halo, etc etc
Pretty much every casual-oriented game doesn't balance for the 1%.
Now look, if you want to balance for say, idk, 200 players over the other 59,999,800 players, be my guest. It just shows why some of us aren't devs lmao

You only balance for the majority of players for money reasons, at the expense of balance for skilled players, which is what's been happening.
You only balance for the majority if you want the game to live.
Balance around players like Hens, hell, balance around someone near my skill level and the game will NOT be fun for ANYONE outside of no-life 5K+ hours players.
I'm self-aware enough to know that'd be horrible for the game, even if it'd be better for me.

You could at least watch the video before going straight for the strawman argument, by the way.
Yeah, I do think we should balance for the most amount of people. Balancing around a 13K hour competitive player mindset is silly, and I'm 99% sure that Hens would agree.
It's no surprise that Hens managed to escape in a decent number of games. He's a comp player and a good one at that.

Skeletons are completely useless on standing pallet. You are not able to swing faster than I drop pallet.

I'm saying I can still instant hit you, pallet or no pallet using the skeletons. You either keep running, in which case I get a hit on any safe loop, or you get bombed at the pallet.

That gets him to hit animation, which is always better than letting him injure you with skeletons. So you get more distance.
It's completely useless if I have standing pallet/window nearby. If he tried to go for insta tech, I am able to vault/drop pallet before he can hit me, because there is quite a big delay where he can't attack.Pretty sure you can still get skele-bombed on pallets and windows.

Insta tech doesn't work when I know animation. All his animation for casting are unique, so I can tell what spell he is about to use and on insta-tech range, I can easily see it.
And….do what exactly? If you crouch it, he gets an M1, which to be fair is better than him landing the insta; but it's still a hit.

I never ever see him in my matches.
What exaclty isnt working on him rn and since when?Well, his M1 works.
Other than that, take your pick. every update seems to break Guard AI more.

Sure, but that's still just "run away from the guards" when you get down to it. The only difference in your decision making is what direction to run in, which is still kind of generic as counterplay goes, you run away from every killer.
Then again, it is still something, so I'll give it to him.
Correct.
Like I said earlier, valid criticisms, all of them.
It's just that the Killer barely even functions. He might be held together by the hair coming out of his helmet.
