  • Had two in a row like this yesterday :D

    Dead by Daylight: Discworld Chapter

    Map: Ankh-Morpork

    Killer: The Patrician

    Survivor: Cut-Me-Own-Throat Dibbler

    A cunning survivor needs cunning perks. These are Dibbler's imaginary silly perks.

    The customer doesn't need to be right: A good salesman needs to find good targets but a great salesman makes do with bad targets.

    For each failed skillchecks by fellow survivor, gain a 0.5/1/1.5 increase in luck, up to max 20%.

    ~~~
    One step ahead: When the going gets tough, the tough get going. Let's hope lucks also going along.
    When hatch spawns, there is a 25/50/75% chance it will spawn within 10 meters of you. Otherwise, it will spawn within 5 meters of the killer.
    ~~~

    Find a mark: an enterprising individual must use any means neccasery to attract customers to themself. Sadly, the powers that be usually don't like it.

    Your aura is shown to 1 random survivor, this survivor changes after each generator completion. However, every time you start moving after staying still, your aura will be shown to the killer for 3/2/1 seconds. Aura reval to killer has 30/40/50 second cool down.

  • Is that a flaming poop emoji sticker?

  • If you have balanced landing, I suggest using it on Kate during your challenge. Easier to keep track off

  • Be a mammal with trapdaddy

  • Only if comes rolling after you in his 3-wheel car

  • You forgot hillbilly and nurse.

    I'd mostly suggest you try out them all and find which one you enjoy

    Doctor's Archive mentions MKULTRA, along with two lesser known CIA projects, MKDELTA and MKSEARCH, the latter of which began in 1964. Fellow forum member Rattman found that Léry's Memorial Institute was condemned in 1983. So you were kind of close.

    He was ABSOLUTELY based on Yang Yongxin though. Before he was African American Herman Carter, he was Chinese Mu Yi. Censorship reasons caused him to be changed.

    He's African-American? Well, shiver me timbers, yet another thing I didn't know!

  • Honestly, my advice is a bit of a rehash of what other said but here goes;

    1. Play both sides. You'll understand both sides better, giving you a better knowledge of how to counter gameplay and understanding&appreciation of the opponent.

    2. Try to mix up your perks. Yes, it might mean you lose a bit more often but you will eventually find that a perk you don't much like the sound off works well/is fun for you. You'll also see a lot of "this perk is good/bad and you sjould/shouldn't use it, plz nerf/buff this perk". Not all perks are equal but this is a bogus attitude.

    3. This is a game. A multilayer game. It will have players who don't play "fair" or "fun". Don't waste your time by running your mouth and being rude or try to defend yourself when other players get rude to you. It can ruin your or their day. On steam, you can block profiles and it *should* prevent you from playing with that person.

    Likewise, with online games especially, glitches and annoyances are bound to happen. Take them in stride.

    The man he's based on, Yang Yongxin, started practicing around the mid-2000s, and does so to this day as far as I'm aware. It's possible that the character could be from an earlier time, of course, although I have heard that the Doctor was originally supposed to be Yang Yongxin but they couldn't do that for legal reasons.

    Really? I had no idea nor had heard of this man before so I always assumed he was based off of Mkulta experimental "doctors"

  • Considering that the killers all understand that gens=exit gates, no matter the period they're from, why wouldn't older survivors learn it too?

    Side note: I always felt that Carter (the doctor) was from the 40s or 50s.

  • While I love the Alien movies, I'd much rather have some of the old, iconic horror killers like the mummy, Dracula, gillman ect.

    Only if the "Hit it Joe!" is included.

    What if it was "Hit it Chase!"

  • Came to laugh at salt, stayed for Joe!

  • Open-Handed. As is, it extends aura-reading range but it feels to me that more auras are on a timer restriction, rather than range restriction. I therefor feel that Open-handed should be range-nerfed but also having a timer extension.

    For example, currently it's "Increases Aura-reading ranges by 4/6/8 metres." but I'd make it something like "Increases Aura-reading ranges by 3/5/7 metres. Extend aura-reading duration by 0,5/1/1,5 seconds"

  • Bloody coil. Leave my traps alone!

  • As fun as the purple addons are (why does it feel like hag is they only one to get fun addons?), distance and duration are my jam

  • I agree with Raven014. I would also suggest you think about what kind of killer you want to be/would have most fun as, eg. stealthy one, tricky one, fast one, disruptive one,relentless one, targert-hitting one (like huntress), disruptive one and so on. I think you'd have most fun that way

  • @thesuicidefox said:

    See, this is what killers should be fighting for instead of trying to get DS or Unbreakable or DH or some other totally fine survivor perk nerfed. The perks are not the problem, it's SWF that's the problem. The perks are easily played around, SWF much less so. A perkless SWF squad of really good survivors is going to steamroll pretty much any killer in the game, therefore perks are NOT the problem. Sorry it's just triggering how many people complain about DS recently and how ######### easy as ######### it is to play around.

    That said, IMO the best solution to SWF is to limit perks to 1 instance among the group. That means only 1 person can run DS, only 1 can have UB, only 1 can have DH, and so on. If you are solo this doesn't affect you. If you are dubs then you basically get more perks to pick from, but still no overlap. If you are a 4 man then you need to focus on team builds and can't just run full meta on each survivor. You'd need to spread out all the best perks, or you could stack all those perks on 1 guy whose entire purpose is to get chased all game.

    I think that's a good idea actually. No 4 man meta with coms and more difficult for swf but not so difficult they can't play well or be played against

  • I've been thinking about this. My idea, and I don't know how good it is, is to increase the difficulty on the survivor side if it is swf (I know not all swf are swat swf but the game has no way of detecting that). For example, for every member in the lobby as a swf; extra gens spawn or take x% longer for each swf member, gens spawn closer to each other so gen patrolling is easier for the killer, entity progression on hooks is faster by x% for each swf member, more hooks etc.

    Just saying if I ever got a job at behaviour I'd probably code the game to give every survivor an "advantage" while facing her 😉

    May look a tiny bit like this.

    :sad hag noises:

  • I expectthe chainsaw duo to be campy, tunnel and generally unfun. Leatherface more so.

    I expect Neas, especially cosmetic-using ones, to be unfun to play against.

  • Least fun to play as: trapper and hillbilly.

    Most fun to play as: Hag and (this surprised me) oni

    Very funny lol

    Though on a more serious note can we please just delete hag? Just say leatherface cut her up to use her face as a mask.

    Leave best girl alone!

  • Hag: Hex:the third seal,overcharge, nurse's calling and dark devotion.

    It changes around a bit, for example sometimes I use haunted ground instead of the third seal.

    Yes and no. Yes, it is technically possible if they're designed with that in mind, but no, it's not as simple as slapping a new layer of blood over top of whichever cosmetic you want.

    To keep it simple, I'm going to ELI5. Let's pretend the thing you want to add blood to is a cube. To add a texture to it, you need to flatten it out. It might look a little something like this:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/479/C2ZMED8MYDFA.png

    Then you add blood to it. It might look something like this, although obviously not as crude as this example:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/495/LDA7M864GA6P.png

    Now aside from the fact that this example is very crudely made, it looks fine so far, right? But keep in mind what happens when you fold this 3D object back up. The blood splotch in the bottom right might be fine since it's already on the face that's going to be next to it, but what about the top one?

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/492/FOKEAKQEXQRL.png

    As you can see, the blood splotch on top is going to fold up against a face that doesn't have any blood on it. That's going to make a very clear (and ugly) seam where the blood suddenly stops and disappears.

    To which you might say, it's simple enough, just make sure that it lines up with the other faces and then apply that to all cosmetics. That may work for simple objects like cubes, but more complex objects (like a shirt, or an entire killer's body) aren't as clean and uniform. They've got a lot of polygons, and they don't unfold neatly. To save space, an arm might be separated from the torso and rotated to fit into a small file. More importantly, since each cosmetic is a different shape (a t-shirt will have a different layout than a hoodie, for example), there's no good way to have a single bloody texture that covers everything.

    There are some workarounds, but they tend not to be as nice or details as the manually created ones. Slapping a generic texture over just anything doesn't quite compare to an artist going through and manually placing the blood.

    Thank you for the explanation, that does make sense. As I said, I have very limited knowledge of these things

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1256612#Comment_1256612

    The problem with both ideas is that the Devs would need to create a prestige Outfit for every existing Cosmetic. This is way too much work for almost no use/benefit.

    Besides that, something like Legacy will never come back.

    I admit I know little on game design but wouldn't it be possible to create an universal overlay for each cosmetic piece (top, bottom, head) so that it layers over said cosmetic? Then only 3 overlays would need to be created to apply to everything

  • Hawkins, I just hate it. It's too confusing

  • I, by far, like dedicated better. No longer do I regularly have to decide if the 300+ ping I used to often get was worth it. Now the ping is usually around 100 or so and even if I do get the occasional lag game and the stuff associated with it, it's a lot less than it used to be.

  • I wish you all the best!

  • I think a hex totems should have some penalty for being cleansed. A marked one as I think it would make it less of a drag to lose a hex and have a wasted perk slot and also have survivors vary of them.

    I like the 10% gen regression if ruin is cleansed and, as jediwithasniper said, skillchecks would be nice too.

  • Nancy, Steve or Tapp

  • Hag is by far my favourite killer because, like trapper, I love the satisfaction of survivors walking in my traps.

    I think too many people who use hag think they NEED to use hex perks. Or that when a survivor triggers a trap, they should always teleport.

    Trap loops, traffic areas, put down some traps in chases that become loops and even put down one or two traps in stupid places. Worst case scenario is resetting that trap.

  • I seriously think that all of Ace's perks need a buff (but then we're going into changing the luck mechanisms territory)
