  • Break a couple totems, unhook a couple teammates, repair a gen or two. Then just play normally.

  • I avoid streamers, because I don't want to be a source of content, especially since if you want good content you need an antagonist, which means that they have to go out of their way to get the killers (my) attention. The number of toxic streamers out there is too large.

Yeah I don't think getting arrested is a thing for them to worry about. The slightest chances of being brought to court are if the cheater and the victim are in the same country or state. None would go to another state, let alone cross borders to sue somebody over a video game. VPNs and setting your Steam location to Somalia and Uganda just makes it harder (I have 2 friends with those locations lmao)

The point I'm going for, is why bother hacking an individual pc to make a player lose.

I'm using "hacker" as a person with actual skills/knowledge in circumventing cyber security, as opposed to someone who has bought a program or a script to cheat in a game. This is in response mostly to the person who suggested keeping a record to take to a lawyer. One of these is a crime, while the other is a violation of the EULA.

I don't play freddy too much since well i kinda never had to use him for grinding and mostly used Doctor bit enough of that let me get to the point. I started the round as usual and once it started someone disconnected for no reason, i think it was because of my addons and such but i didn't care. Anyway after that crap i caught a survivor hooked them then went after the farthest one, in the middle of the chase the other survivor i wasn't chasing disconnected. After that i took down the final survivor, closed the hatch, hooked them and just ended the round. I have to say it wasn't as short as my legion round (that one they just gave up with no problem) this one they tried and failed. Here's the screenshot just to show how short it was

You should cover up the names of the survivors. Forum rules and all that.

  • If you're bad at chases as both killer and survivor you should look up how to loop tiles, there are plenty of good Youtube videos out there (personally I like Fungoose), when you have a good grasp of how to loop the tiles, this should aid you in knowing what to do as survivor and what to avoid as killer.

youre right, I didn’t even think about calm spirit. Next time I see that it’s the doctor in the pre game lobby I’ll throw on calm spirit before it starts

You could just run Calm Spirit all the time. You'd never bother crows, never scream from a Doctor, clown or infectious fright or other screaming perks e.g: deathbound.

But since we're going to be rude, I could just tell you to learn how to play against loop denial killers. Because if you have a problem against Doctor, you probably also have a problem against Freddy, Clown and Pyramid Head for their loop denial abilities.

And stealth is ruined by info perks, like aura reading or whispers.

Doctor isn't OP. His most OP thing is that he's also a great camper, because shocks interrupt hook saves, but even that can be timed and avoided.

  • Not to make light of hacking, but why would a hacker risk even the slightest chance of getting caught and arrested, just to make your game crash. Not very a very rewarding crime.

Its far more likely that your game was encountering issues and then crashed. If your game is bugging out you could have connection interruptions that feel like lag, frame drops, then eventually the game stops responding.

    I'd make a bug report.

  • Calm spirit also stops you from screaming...

Also don't loop in a single place against doctor, chain multiple different loops together. He slows down when charging a shock, allowing you to go between loops, shocking also resets bloodlust. Drop pallets early and take distance when needed.

  • Its a mix of Brutal Strength, Bamboozle, and you pick up survivors faster.

You break pallets and kick gens faster, you vault faster and you pick up survivors faster, all depending on how many gens are done.

Overall the perk is unreliable compared to bamboozle or brutal strength, since Fire up relies on the number of completed gens.

We need to stop saying this, because obviously:

    1. This doesn't stop killers from camping because we're still seeing tons of complaints
    2. Killers who camp obviously don't care about "rank points". If anything, they want to not rank up so they aren't Vs. better survivors.
    3. Ask the person being camped if they care about "Map pressure". Or if they're just hating the game and they want to suicide on hook? It's not fun at all to die over 2 minutes with literally nothing to do.
    4. "Stupid survivors" is not fair to say. I use Kindred and I still get facecamped, and survivors still crouch nearby waiting for a save they'll never get. We can't be elitist, that will only drive people away.

Solution? I'm sure someone can come up with better ones, but if Survivors switched hooks when Killers face camped (Pre Exit Gates powered) like they do in Pyramid Head's cages, that would be good.

Survivors switching hooks would be bad, very bad for survivors. Just stop face-camping, and proxy camp. When the survivors come in to rescue, get close enough to trigger the hook switch. Survivors on hooks are visable to the killer, and the killer is faster. They can get to the new hook before the survivors do, rinse and repeat.

If suiciding on first hook is a grey-area, so is camping. It gives you the option to suicide so.

I call it a grey area, because its awfully close to rage quitting, but is much harder to prove. Because lag, frame drops, or inattentiveness can cause you to accidentally die on hook.

Can an arguement be made that its a mechanic of the game, yeah. But camping is actually allowed for in the game. Perks like insidious make camping easier, and borrowed time acts as a soft counter under the right circumstances.

I understand the Gen rushing part, as a killer main it is mainly because of map pressure. But I am rank 1 GF, SWFs are ######### hell to fight against, and the entitlement that you show makes me think that you only play surv. It's not our fault that we cant fight a ######### task force with coms. You complain about tunneling, just don't be an easy target.

You brought a thread thats been dead, for nearly 3 months. Let the dead thread rest.

its not, listen it does not matter if you do gens and escape, that entire match was a complete waste of time.

Imagine if all killers just decided to camp suddenly, all of them, this game would completely die because there would be no value left in playing.

The problem with camping is really that the devs cant...or wont do anything about it because well they dont know how and apart from that its not done enough thankfully to be a serious threat to the game's future.

Its only by the gracy of the "oh so toxic" community that this game survives.

What I do find interesting is that DCing or letting yourself die on the hook is unsportsmenlike and considered so problematic that you arent even allowed to talk about it on these forums or the mods will step in.

But camping is "a valid strat", yet both lead to the same thing, a completely worthless match....although camping is actually a far worse offender.

DC-ing is literally against the rules, its rage quitting. Hook suicide is in a grey-area, that (probably) isn't technically against the rules.

Imagine if all survivors hid in bushes and only did the minimum to prevent getting crows. Killers would stop playing and the game would die. So stealth is bad for the game. Except stealth is a valid tactic, because after a while stealth gets boring, as does facecamping.

Scummy tactics are valid tactics, its up to the survivors to make sure that the scummy tactics don't pay off.

Do gens, don't get overly altruistic, don't engage them in the end game chat, don't send them a message. Some people want to just ruin the fun for others, don't let them know its working. Don't feed the trolls.

  • I have seen people get tunneled or camped, for no reason, because of the character they're playing, their cosmetic, perks, and items.

But I've also seen people mistake being a target of convenience for tunneling. Sometimes its easier to hit a recently unhooked person than to chase their rescuer, sometimes the other survivors stealth.

As a pc killer I tunnel people with Object of Obsession. I will hit someone who has been recently unhooked if they're convenient. I'll take a DS, an extra hook, or leave a slug.

I've also been tunneled by both console and pc killers.

  • Yeah, facecamping is not an efficient way to pip. Its also not fun, either to do or to have done to you. But some people live to ruin the fun for others.

  • @lilredyeetinghood said:

There 100% needs to be a killer penalty for face camping. Maybe start losing points that would count toward a pip? The amount of times I have been face camped this last week is UNREAL. Killers just trying to get to rank 4 before the reset. This is needs to stop.

There is one, being too close to a hooked survivor removes points from the Chaser emblems. And since emblems determine whether or not you pip...

Also face-camping implies that they are making you go through more than one hook state when you're hooked, which works against total number of hooks which hurts the Devout emblem.

They're also not defending gens, so that hurts Gatekeeper too..

Also they're not hurting survivours and giving time to heal, so Malicious is also going to take a hit.

  • Also the Never Stop Slashing Legion skin would require that they write new code in for Legion, since the skin changing mechanic is not part of the existing character. That would require coding time, testing time, and possibly introduce new bugs into the game for the sake of making a singular skin have additional functionality.

  • If 3 gens go during a single chase, you spent way too much time chasing that survivor. That means the other 3 have been left un-pressured for at least 80 seconds. If you can't get a hit in ~20 seconds, it might be better to switch targets.

  • Mostly I de-pip as I learn, I'll (probably) end up facing less experienced survivors and then with time and effort I'll improve. I just keep at it until it works out. Same theory with doing adept challenges.

  • Surge+Oppression might be an okay combo.

Surge hits the gens near you, then oppression gets up to 3 more regressing. So you defend your 3 gen, and make the far gens regress with oppression.

  • If you're on Steam I'd try checking for updates and verifying game files. Also restart Steam, just to be super sure.

I'm not sure any of this will work, but what do you have to lose?

  • I think there should be a mechanic to speed up bleeding out if you desire to leave a game. Something like: after spending 45 consecutive seconds on the ground you get an option to press the spacebar to bleed out at 2-3x the speed.

This way a killer could still slug in the match, they could still slug for the 4k, but there is a reasonable time limit and slugging everyone to death would be less annoying.

  • Could this be a Mettle of Man? I think that protects against insta-downs..

  • When I used Franklin's I've had survivors quickly comeback mid-chase to try to rescue their own item, I've also had them grab their item while I was breaking the pallet, resulting in them not making an distance and thus a down.

Franklin's could be a great perk, but in the current meta it would not be viable on most killers.

  • The secret to beating Freddy is waking up. Dream snares and dream pallets don't effect awake survivors, and it slows down the speed at which the Dream projection recharges.

As for perks, distotrion is a Jeff perk, you can get him with Iri shards, so you just need to play some more.

Thana and dying light on Freddy is the build for forever Freddy, thats just a thing. Those perks are just as bad on Legion or plague.

If you lose to Freddy so much, NOED shouldn't come into play. Because that means you at least finished all gens, which means you did well enough.

If you have ruin problems, find ruin and destroy it. Even with undying you can still do it. Bring a map, use detective's hunch or small game, destroy any totem you find.

  • As a killer, if I want to farm. I down a survivor, pick them up and walk over to a pallet or a generator and smack it until the survivor wiggles free or I'm pallet stunned by another survivor. Repeat until they get the message.

As a survivor, I wait for the killer to instigate farming. Or I sit and point at the objective I need to do and hope the killer lets me do it.

  • The bed was defintely there in the movie, since there was the fight scene with Freddy around that bed. The mattress, I don't recall, but it might have been there too, but I don't think Freddys hidden room is in the game.

  • Noed is usually good for one kill at the endgame. Unless you get lucky and you have the survivors grouped up. So that up to you to decide its value. U prefer to kill my survivors before they finish all the gens

  • Killers have it easy at low ranks and have it hard at high ranks. When you face a group of very experienced survivors, running meta perks and good items, and that run tiles efficiently its a whole different world. I used to think Killer was easy until I got to about purple ranks, then the games got hard.

Also, slowing a killer thats camping won't do anything. They're not going anywhere, a slowed effect won't have a noticeable effect. Camping a survivor is a massive waste if time, if a killer is doing it, they're punishing themselves since ~4 gens can pop in the time for one survivor to die from first hook.

  • @Gamefrequenz said:

That is no challenge if its unfair for me. There is no way to see I improve if the enemys are always smarter than me.

But if having more hours than you is unfair to you, consider this: if you had more hours than them is it unfair to them?

If so, who do you match with?

    If not, isn't this hippocritical?

Tl;dr the emblem system doesn't adequately deal with the broad skill difference at high ranks. If they can get the MMR system to do what it needs to, we might be better off.

  • They're working on it.

Pop really isn't nerfed that much, just gives less time to go kick a gen, which is fine, I almost never lose a pop because it timed out, so whatever.

Thanatophobia is buffed. The point of thana is to make survivors want to heal and not work on gens.

We saw perks get updated with Billy and Bubba. Lightborn is a bit better, Franklins is better, tinkerer is meta now. Surge got a buff, where it hits regressing gens for the 8% damage. Trail of Torment buff seems legit too.

They tried to make Mindbreaker, Knockout and Cruel Limits better, but I still don't see the value in them.

I imagine we'll see more perks getting updated on the PTB for the next chapter. Then more on the Mid-chapter patch.

  • Its also an Ultra-Rare Add-on. They are supposed to be powerful. Also you forgetting about Judith's Tombstone, because thats worse.

  • If you are worried about getting it done, convince the survivors to farm, then use this strategic alliance to mutually complete objectives.

Or play alot of blight matches until you get it.

  • Also as for generators, try to do ones that are central in the map, you want the final gens to be spread out at the far edges of the map. Your goal is to make the gens be as far apart as possible when it gets down to the last 3.

Also save your toolbox for the last gen, or is you are going to die on hook.

  • Pallets come in 2 main flavors, safe and un-safe with a little mixing in the middle.

A safe pallet is one that the killer must break to effectively continue chase, such as the god pallet aka Shack pallet.

An un-safe pallet is one that a killer can play around after it is dropped to secure a hit.

If you are at an unsafe pallet, you have to stun the killer with it, or you're getting hit. (Stun and run)

Learn to identify which loops are safe, and which are not.

  • Bloodhound. I love the aesthetic, highlighted blood looks great, however tracking blood is probably the least useful way to track a survivor

  • Because there are a lot of other choices out there. I don't play Billy, except for challenges, because I never bothered to get good with him.

  • My answer to the lack of friends for a SWF is to go to a streamer's Discord and meet some new people.

Or play killer for a bit... when I need a break from killer, I play survivor.

Or take a break and come back refreshed. When all else fails, play something else for a few days and re-evaluate.

  • Can confirm Doctor works fine, and Blight is bugged for the challenge.

  • OoO is an insta- tunnel for me. That person will not know peace, because peace was never an option with OoO.

Also someone who uses the threat of DS to just do a gen in my face. I'll eat the DS, then tunnel them. Don't disrespect me like that, at least pretend that I'm dangerous...

Other than that I'll definitely hit a survivor who was recently unhooked, if they're convenient, and if they go down its a 50/50 for if I slug them or try to hook.

  • Nope, thats strategy. Half of playing killer is deciding which gens to give up in order to protect others better.

However good survivors can recognize what you're doing and try to break the 3 gen early, or split up onto 2 of the 3 gens and run when you get close.

  • There also had to have been other levels of Dc penalties. It starts with 5 minute bans then moves up from there. Your friend DCed alot.

Your friend needs to check their connection. I say this as a person how had potato internet, which is now slightly less potato

  • @th3 said:

Freddy forces you to do detrimental things to avoid the penalties of his power. Blowing up the gen, running halfway across the map to wake yourself up (which is stupid imo)

The pig and plague potentially do the same for running across the map. Same with Pyramid Head (to go to cages).

The pig requires potentially several trips across the map with the threat of imminent death if you skip it. Freddy in comparison just slows down Gens and lets him use snares or pallets.

However an awake survivor can wake up a sleeping survivor. You need the team to stagger their sleep timers, so that there are at least 2 people awake at all times

  • @Woodywool said:

He afraids that the support team can ban his second account due avoiding the ban

    That is definitely ban-able.

  • Step 1: Turn off end game chat with the little arrow button.

(Optional) Step 1.5: Franklin's demise or lightborn for the flashlights

Step 2: recognize that these people are just being jerks, which says more about them, than it does you.

Step 3: More practice. Play some more killer games, you'll get better and you'll experience more toxicity. You'll build up a resistance to it.

(I'm not saying that killers aren't toxic too, its just easier to find toxic survivors when survivors outnumber the killer, you have more chances and the possibility of group-think)

  • They're working on it with the MMR system. The first release of the MMR system didn't go well, so they disabled it, so they could do more work on it.

Also I'm going to point out that they have a graphics team and the team that handles things like matchmaking. These are different teams of people and as such they can be working on graphics updates and improving matchmaking/gameplay at the same time.

  • The secret to beating Freddy is waking up. Waking up removes the slowdown, the blood snares triggering, slows down the teleport recharge, and doesn't give you the oblivious status effect.

His lunge is the same as all other 115% killers, it just looks weird because he's short and has a short weapon.

So, as a team it is optimal to work in groups with non-synced sleep timers, or blow a gen check from time to time, or wake up at a clock if its nearby.

  • @Yamaoka said:

What if the instadown was limited to the Blight's 5th token only? I don't play Blight so I'm basically asking how frequently/consistently do you hit with the 5th rush token? Because it seems like it would give survivors a chance to position themselves in a chase when you MUST use all the rush tokens before going for the hit.

Thats one of his iri add-ons. Literally, last token rush hits are an insta-down.

  • I mean, it doesn't matter since you didn't violate the rules, so you're not going to get in trouble.I'm also pretty sure that repeatedly false reporting people can result in some sort of punishment.

  • Who knows, was the unhooker in terror radius? If the killer was undetectable, the unhooker was oblivious, or the killer had a really small terror radius, these could all be a normal reason BT doesn't work.

Tinkerer is meta right now, so undetectable is a bit more common than normal.

So, did the killer have any way to reduce terror radius, become undetectable or make the survivor oblivious?

  • The really good survivors are rare. Most players are going to be somewhere around average, as is the nature of a bell curve. If you want to find the best survivors you need amazing luck.
