I think Vittorio will be popular for a bit but quickly fade. People will go back to their mains they have all the items and whatever on for the most part. That's how it's been for ages and I don't see it changing with Vittorio.
The Knight is pretty mid tier with a pretty bland anti loop. You'll see one every once in a blue moon after the first few days to a week but not much more after that. Of course their tome is coming out pretty soon after their chapter drops so that might skew their appearances for awhile.
-
Sitting on 8.5 million BP for the RE Chapter. Im a bit of an RE fanboy so Wesker and Rebecca are going to be my new mains. Sorry Leon you've been replaced.
-
You could always just take a break from the grind so you don't burn yourself out. That's what Im doing. Currently at P3+ nearly everyone.
-
The highest I've ever seen was 26 and the person had roughly 10k hours.
62 devotion is intervention worthy.
-
What new metas will come out of this and perk grind reduction.
-
I bought James Sunderland when he came out as hes one of my favorite characters of all time. I think I got my moneys worth even if the skins are absurdly overpriced.

What do you think he's gonna look like
I'd bet almost anything itll be his RE5 look but I so badly want it to be his STARS outfit.

Behaviour gave the middle finger to the old players a long time ago when they gave away all the old event rewards.
As I recall they did so because people were selling their accounts with them and codes(?) for the old shirts and what not you could only get at old in person events.
They then said they were done with exclusives. A few weeks later they started doing exclusives again and now do it all the time with amazon prime only outfits and what not.
This is just how BHVR operates. Expect nothing from them and just be pleasantly surprised when they do anything competent.
-
Thats what I just did. 20ish of my survivors that I never ever play were sitting at P0 lvl 50. Popped them all since they basically had nothing on them anyway so it doesn't really bother me. Cuts down the perk grind to basically nothing aside from universal perks and a handful of survivor specific perk ranks.
-
You really went above and beyond, well done. I'm somehow not surprised by the results.
-
They are definitely factoring other things. Most of my killers are prestige 10-11 now. Even killers I barely had anything on went up a prestige which surprised me. My most optimistic projections of where my characters would end up were beaten.
-
@bm33 said:
I didn't get a twitch notification they were doing stream right now. Did they add any useful info? Like how exactly they're calculating the prestige levels when they do the catch up?
Thats what I wanted to hear as well but no they didnt. They just read the patch notes for it and moved on...

Pain Resosnance with double zombie speed addons is often pretty fun. The explosion draws the zombies and chases off whoevers still there. I'm sad to see it being changed for that reason alone.
Discordance is also fun on him for the same reason as pain resonance. Draws zombies in quickly.
Corrupt does feel pretty mandatory on him. I've tried without and its just a worse experience considering his massively slow start more often than not.
I find I'm having the most fun when everything is sheer chaos which always involves zombies so I tend to lean into zombie centric builds. Even if I lose its still fun to cause mayhem. At least for me anyway.
-
Yeah new players will continue to have a mountain to climb any way you spin it. They should have something to make the grind less awful for a little while at least.
-
I do feel bad for new players as the grind really hasnt changed enough for them I feel. It's still a pretty massive mountain to climb.
For long time players like myself though this is fantastic. Now when new killers drop I only have to spend a few million BP to max out perks as opposed to the 14 millionish I would have to otherwise.
No more praying for perks to show up in the bloodweb.

yes we need more Rebecca in our lives!!
the thing is DBD has so many healing perks already ://
all honesty just give all RE characters guns & call it a day
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3022381#Comment_3022381
I cant argue w/ that, will never complain about more RE.
im so glad i found someone else that likes RE0!! its such a mix bag in the community but I personally loved it although I do agree with some points that others make that the enemies spawn in rooms could be annoying.
and yes Billy!! hes so cute, he"d fit right in
RE0 & RE5 Rebecca look the same to me?? arent they the same models, i probably have to check...
I love Resident Evil zero. It's so good, easily top 5 best Resident Evils. I really hope they have her in her RE zero/1 outfit. RE zero wesker mode Rebecca as an outfit on the Store of course.

If he came into the game he should've just been what Nemesis was but without the tentacle part and different means of infecting.
Honestly I was thinking of his infection being that he has to down someone and then he can infect them with an embryo. The amount of embryos you can use to infect slowly builds over the course of the game but starts you off with a couple.
-
Stage 1 William Birkin with his pipe. Infect people with the G Virus embryo. Also having a mad sprint while swinging his weapon like a lunatic. (Think Bubba but way wilder and less precise)
If you die to the G virus your body becomes a g mutant. (You are still dead and out of the match of course).
Birkin can make his own more fearsome minions compared to Nemesis zombies. Trade off he has to make them himself in a sense.

Not to mention now they literally pin the threads on this forum with graphic showing you how to "save" BP nodes in tomes.... like, they encourage you to save your BP via tomes so ANY argument about "too much BP saved to p3 a new killer" goes right out window
theyll have to raise it one day, its only becoming more obsolete as time goes, especially now that they promote tomes the way they do
Good point. I kinda forgot about the whole Tome nonsense which is funny considering I have roughly 4 million BP hoarded in tomes right now to help level the characters in the next Resident Evil chapter.
-
Well the old reasons were so people dont max out characters straight away upon release. Which now with the prestige changes seems like a weaker argument on some level.
The other original reason was to be able to detect hackers easier. Back when the million hardcap was introduced there was quite literally no way to go over it. So it was way easier to notice a hacked account that had 100 million BP or whatever.
Recently the devs were talking about how internally its a tug of war to keep the BP cap now. Considering how many ways there are to fly over the cap.
Its kind of a relic now. I think eventually it will be phased out or at least pushed up because 1 million is kind of a joke.
-
I feel like this idea could help with the current contention of BBQ/WGLF changes.
-
Changing BBQ and WGLF literally only because its "meta" is really just asinine. If you don't want people to predominately use these two perks than give a STABLE form of extra BP. No the matchmaking thing of MAYBE getting 25%-100% extra BP is not stable at all. And yes its still needed because perks are just one part of the BP economy. Not the be all end all.
Back to the old days of having to play 3 games to do one Bloodweb... Joy.
Hoard your flans everyone. That's your new BBQ/WGLF.
-
James Sunderland is my main until Rebecca/ada gets dropped.
Dredge probably not. His Design/powers are really interesting but ultimately hes an M1 killer with an anti loop that can be countered by holding W. I just can't be bothered.

I'm genuinely curious: are people doing this primarily to get the rewards (for having characters at P3 prior to the new system kicking in)? We know the reward won't be a cosmetic item. What do you think it will be? Will it really be worth it?
Anyhow, I'm fairly certain that many of my characters will automatically get "caught up" in the new system with at least a level or two of prestige due to the number of perks I have on them.
Im doing this to future proof characters I don't have yet. It'll be so nice to just have most of what I need on a character the second I buy them. Also I assume the "reward" will be a special portrait for your prestige level that will be shown at the end of the game. To be like "Hey I hit P3 back when it actually hurt to do this." Will it be worth it? Not to me, maybe to some people.

Killers P3: 13/26
Luckily I have P3'd a decent amount of my killers over the years. The ones I havent will get boosted to Prestige 2/3. With the exception of Cenobite. Trickster and Nurse which will just be Prestige 1. The other killers I have in limbo that arent P3 but have a decent amount of perks and way to much stuff to prestige so I just gotta wait till the new system kicks in before I start throwing points on them again.
Survivors P3'd. Claudette, Ash, Leon.
Always seemed like a waste to Prestige survivors especially when outfits were introduced. I only P3'd Leon and Ash because their cosmetics I knew would cost real money and couldn't be bought with shards. Now Im just getting everyone to level 50 so I can just get them all to prestige 1 at least when the new system drops. I still have like 7 million BP to grind just to hit that benchmark. May go crazier when double BP week hits and shoot for P2 on some...
The new shrine system seems very interesting to. Finally an actual use for my shards outside of the rare outfit purchase. Sitting on 90k
PS: Does anyone else find it funny that in the effort to reduce the grind most of us are grinding harder than we've ever grinded before?
-
I hope we get Weskers outfit from RE zero/ RE1. That being his STARS outfit. He loves taunting and talking so I'd imagine he'll be a bit of a chatter box. A lot of lines for catching people in lockers, getting stunned and hooking. It'd be way out of character otherwise. He has so many iconic lines that it really shouldn't be an issue. I wonder which of Weskers deaths theyll use in his backstory. The first one where he died and came back as a super soldier of sorts or his volcano one. Something tells me itll be his first they will go with.
Rebeccas perks will be cooperation/heal based of course. She spent all of Zero working in tandem with billy so I cant imagine her not having some kind of duo perk such as Blood Pact.
Ada I'd guess something that makes her harder to detect. Aura dampening perks and the like are probable. Some kind of trap like Jills Blast Mine I would think is in the cards to. She may also have a perk for working with others. Since she and Leon have worked together in some capacity in the games they've been in. Empowering another survivor somehow perhaps.
Mansion map would be pretty amazing. I feel like if they actually decide to do a new map it would have to be.
-
Perhaps a much more hands on approach to Mastermind will be what Wesker gets. CCTV cameras that he looks through where he sets up traps on a point system that is rebuilt passively overtime but also through hurting survivors. I don't think he'll get minions to spawn in unless theres some easy non pallet way to get rid of them because that would be way to OP otherwise. Teleportation to wherever the cameras are looking on a long cooldown similiarish to Sadako to get involved in the fight directly.
Nemesis has punching and I really doubt Behaviour is going to give any killer a Beretta which basically covers Weskers fighting styles. So whats his M1 going to be? I know he does karate and stuff but its dbd. He's not going to be judo throwing the survivors. So I'm not sure where that leaves him.
In the end all I really want is Wesker in his OG Stars outfit.

7-8
Usually nowadays I'll come back to check out the new DLC's/ PTBs. Ill typically play for 4- 8 hours over the course of a couple days depending on how good my matches go. Then I realize why I stopped playing in the first place, because I don't really enjoy most of the matches anymore. I keep playing because I'm frustrated not because I'm having fun. Over the course of a couple months ill remember that I used to actually have fun playing this game and give it another try and the cycle repeats.
After 3,500 hours I'm not surprised that I'm mostly burnt out. You do anything for that long and you're probably sick of it lol.
-
The primary issue with her condemned was not addressed which is a shame. The main issue is that it doesn't slowly build over time at all. Which means by and large you can completely ignore that entire mechanic in the vast majority of your matches. I realize it's not meant to be a gg ez I win without trying mechanic, but as it stands it simply isn't a threat.
Also tv's seriously need a lesser cooldown. It took survivors a very short amount of time to figure out how to hold her power completely hostage if they felt like it with basically no counter. Turn off a couple tvs and cleanse your condemned and no these changes don't hamper that play style at all. Luckily most people don't bother with this because they don't care since her condemned is basically harmless anyway and her teleport is only situationally decent. The thought that a team of survivors have the power to turn this killer into basically worse Wraith if they want to have a laugh I feel isn't exactly great.
Another killer that will thrive under the same circumstances that make any stealth killer decent and nothing else.
Hopefully after awhile actual buffs will come for her condemned/teleport, I guess we'll see.
-
Clown. Pretty much mained him since he came out.
There's something so enjoyable about his relative simplicity and i tend to do really well with him on a consistent basis.
Also his bottles make people blow their dead hards when they don't want to, often wasting it completely. Which is just the greatest thing ever.
He has the best laugh in the game to IMHO.
-
Babysitter gives an 8 second speed boost to any survivor you unhook. Thats INSANE for countering hard tunnelers. So excited.
Slotting that into my anti tunnel build ASAP.
-
Same here, game crashed while i was in a match. Zero BP for rank reset. As always behavior knocks it out of the park.
-
Right now I have a grand total of nearly 7 million which includes buying out the shrine.
I had a gut feeling this year would be Resident Evil and I really didnt care about the K-pop chapter so I've been saving for a long time lol.
-
The closest BHVR ever got to making actually good addons was Myers. It changes him into different killers but still using his base powers.
Which I feel is what addons SHOULD do.
Not all of them have to do this obviously but some of them should change up how you'd normally play the killer.
-
I'm not sure I've ever been able to say this about a new DBD chapter but I'm looking forward to everything. I'm also a massive Resident Evil nerd so I might be a bit biased.
Nemesis has always been my favorite monster in the RE series so playing him is just brilliant. I played him for like 10 hours straight in the PTB.
Jill and Leon are my absolute favorites from the series.
Blastmine + Flashbang = Happy fun times.
As much as I like DBD I always wished I could be more combative playing as survivor like you can in Identity V and this chapter finally gives a little bit more of that to me.
RPD of course looks fantastic.
I have to say if ever a chapter was made for me this is about as close as you could get. It's literally my wish list made manifest.
-
Leon to get his flashbang teachable first.
Then a mostly even split between Nemesis and Jill.
Whichever side has less painful queue times gets P3 first.
After I P3 those two ill P3 Leon.
-
Ill miss the overt cocky smile.
Some faces clearly needed reworks like Nea's. You dont have to change every character. Make his face more HD or whatever thats fine. I just don't get changing things for the sake of changing them.
-
I've been saving BP since the new years event. I have over 3 million BP in the regular pool. A few million saved up in Tomes as well. Plenty of shards to buy out the entire shrine as soon as Resident Evil hits. So I'm chilling on like 7 millionish BP currently.
-
I've been saving BP through Tomes, events and redeeming redeemable codes for the last 6 months so I'm good. I kind of assumed Resident Evil would be the 5th year and luckily for me the recent chapter had nothing I cared for which made it easy to keep saving. So now I'm chilling on 7 million or so bloodpoints. For now I plan on getting P3 Nemesis and Leon which with my current stockpile should get me pretty far down that path.
With that said though the grind is insane in this game and they don't even do double BP events anymore for god knows what reason. I feel pretty bad for newer players. I've been playing since the start so I've been able to keep up with the grind pretty easily but for newer players thats an insane mountain to climb.
-
I believe it was Doctor during the Triple Bloodpoint weekend.
-
The whole 5 has the same font as 3 thing seems pretty accurate. Use the number as a hint two years in a row but in different ways is interesting I suppose, if true of course. Only a few weeks left to find out.
-
I have a feeling it'll be pretty good if its anything like the Silent Hill chapter. Plus I'm just a massive Resident Evil fan so I'm having a hard time tempering my excitement.
-
Map: Streets of Raccoon City or Rockfort Island which is actually a pretty darn cool location.
Survivors: Jill and Leon
Killer: Nemesis, Birkin or Mr. X.
Legendary Skins: The options are kind of endless. Hoping for a Brad "Chickenheart" Vickers skin though I'd be shocked if we saw one.
As long as its classic Resident Evil though im good really. Im just happy RE is being added in general.
-
I honestly thought they were going to do exactly what they did with silent hill (Except have 2 survivors like Stranger Things). Take a part of each of the first 3 games and make a chapter out of it.
RE1: Spencers mansion
RE2: Claire + Leon
RE3: Nemesis
However the fact that Mccote said a line that Claire said in Code Veronica makes me think that something from Code Veronica is going to be in the mix. Maybe that line just fit so well with DBD that he used it as a not so subtle hint about Claire but I'm not sure anymore.
Perhaps Alexia Ashford will be the killer or Rockfort Island will be the map as is speculated or heck the Antartic base from CVX. I feel like no matter what there will be some surprise that will throw me for a loop.

I know this post is old, but with the "heart of valor" outfit for Bill leaked, you might've actually predicted the future.
Hah right? That'd be something else. I expect it for free seeing as it was my suggestion! Kidding of course :)
-
Whille I fully expect it to be Nemesis, Mr. X, or birkin. I have a suggestion I havent seen anyone make yet and im a bit surprised honestly.
Alexia Ashford from Code Veronica. Alexia with her fire/bug/plant powers. Lore wise she already has a ton to work with. Id have said the Ashford Twins and not just Alexia but considering they just did a twins killer I'd say probably no, but hey you never know.
-
Just for context. 2500 hours and red or purple rank basically all seasons.
I played 7 games so far. 3 the power balance was even. 3 games I had rank 16-20 killers and my teammates were all red ranks, which led to basically what you'd expect. in a couple of those I was stuck with a rank 18 that auto dced when they got downed and the other game a rank 17 automatically killed himself on hook after they went down at the start of the match. Which led to a less interesting game overall.
Honestly what concerns me about this system is that from what ive heard you need 10 matches to get yourself situated in the MMR. The major problem I'm already seeing here is that Ill be facing way more rank 20 killers that are just going to get annihilated constantly. Frustrating for them, horribly boring for at least me. I know some sadistic people like pushing around the noobs but I find it very dull.
Hopefully this isn't a prevalent issue but I get the feeling it will be...

Scotts slowdown at the start of the game or something very similar I feel would balance the game out pretty well. People brought Ruin into every match to slow the game down for the first (Entity willing) minute or 2. So you could get the first chase out of the way, break a few pallets, be able to relax a bit and get the ball rolling down hill somewhat. With that gone, yeah killers gotten more stressful. Corrupt intervention is pretty hit or miss depending on the map and new ruin doesnt stop good survivors from burning down gens. Especially considering most decent survivors dont really fear the killer at all. Less murderer and more punching bag.
The gens go to quickly when the killer has no way of stopping them at the start. Fix the start of the match to have a massive generator repair speed penalty and you'll see less constant complaining about this annoying problem thats been going on since the start of the game.
