    You probably right honestly

but I'm very hesitant to call someone a cheater without irrefutable evidence

    I don't either.

Just leave and move on afterwards.

Its infuriating when it happens, but it fades pretty quick, and as long as Behavior does clean them out from time to time, it doesn't get too out of control.

    lol

I logged in to test some new headphones with spirit.

45 seconds into the match and I get DCed...

  • I played the PTB last night on both sides.

Everything they added feels like a rush.

Visual on the new home is too clean, its way out of place for its map, the character accouterments in the map don't fit the character at all.

The story reads like an outline for a first draft of something else.

    A survivor ability is broken.

The killer is counter intuitive to play.

Playing as her you are barraged with color, its so confusing.

That mori is so underwhelming and doesn't feature her primary selling point.

These all strike me as things that get worked out in development. So, I guess they just ran out of time for whatever reason and sent it on its way as is. I think they were baking something interesting, I hope they just decided to extend development into the PTB and will sell it as an alpha to be refined as we go.

You will never be satisfied anyway.

You forget that not all camping/tunnelling is done because killers struggle so badly to win the normal way. Lots of killers do it because it's easy, or specifically because they want to ruin the game for the survivors. The only way you'd make that change is if non-camping/tunnelling is MORE oppressive than those tactics. Which would just kill the game outright.

Not to mention that nothing stops killers from dropping the bar another notch if BHVR did try to take your approach. As long as you have tunnelling/camping to fall back on, you will do so. No matter how much the game is slanted in your favour, no matter how much your loss is your fault, if you can fall back on tunnelling/camping, you will do so.

That's why those tactics need to be uprooted, not coddled. They need to be entirely unappealing and inefficient choices. That's the only way that they're going to be fixed.

Sure the only threath is BNP, sure. As long there are people like you, this game won't be better at all

How much does anything else shave off, compared to BNP?

BNP is 25% per person, and only once per match. So like, 50% which would be a 45 second gen and it is reasonable to expect to see two in a random match, and is easy to do.

Hyperfocus+stakeout would be -24 seconds per person with diminishing results if you double up, its about -30 seconds for 2 on a gen+ prove its around a 40-50 second gen(I didn't try this specific setup, but in general Hyperfocus+stakeout is like moderate difficulty to pull off, but its totally reusable).

All the other perks just take a little time off and usually aren't giving results to justify a slot, maybe the new duo perks might have some use in here.

Potential energy has the same issue, it works great but is way too much time risk for a given match(You can do it with the BnP and a gen will be gone, but its too many eggs in one basket for a game driven by a real human competitors).

I get that you were arguing with the other guy, but I did invest some time in messing with all this stuff because I really wanted to know how it felt as opposed to what the cards say.

    Also, ######### about Blight.

I play with Blight a lot now. He is on every Gen if he wants to be near instantly, like Nurse can be. I wouldn't even try to rush gens against him.

happen to me 2 to 3 times a week out of hundreds of games. pretty sure it my connection but it always happen on pick up without fail

Why would your connect always die on a pick up?

Or on an early first down, or...

Any other number of other events that cause a sudden rage spike in your opponent.

Some where on google you can find the sales site for tools that cause what you described. I haven't tried to use the tools, but I have had quite a few circumstantially suspicious internet failures specific to the PC i'm on, in a room with 4 of them, others still stable.

That still doesn't make gens go faster though, it just makes them harder to lock down and hold. Potential Energy is still not a 'gens go faster' perk. If the killer never intended to just gen-squat, then Potential Energy can only slow gens down.

In total no of course not. It does indeed add total time to doing gens.

But he was talking about specific gen time. Which has a strong influence on match outcome.

I get that its a hard perk to use. I get that solo Q usually does silly things with it.

But it does reduce the time to complete on the generator of your choice, and can almost totally remove that time, under ideal circumstances.

Overzealous and Quick Gambit I'm pretty sure are at 0% pickrate, and Potential Energy makes gens go slower, not faster.

BNPs are garbage though and should've been removed years ago.

    I had this fight already.

Potential Energy slows down the Gen you pull from.

It makes the 3 Gen gen that you need to repair go much faster.

This was best used on old RPD, because it was easy to set up and the killer would often go pursue the remote gen you had pulled the energy from.

But, you know this. It also frustrates me when a new survivor pulls energy and dumps it into the same Gen, seemingly sabotaging the match.

  • I did one in 30 seconds alone.

    I am a bad survivor.,

I mean for real, all I have is the ability to communicate.

I think I can get it down toward 15 with assistance.

And 5 seconds in a private match void.

24 meters is pretty big for the survivors, since it's 6 seconds of highly visible running. That's a pretty big deal.

It is a nice perk.(it has a very beautiful icon)

Especially if you want to hang around a gen late game. It should stay centered on the kicked Gen, that part feels broken.

I don't personally gen hover when the killer is chasing someone away. I would only have done it to counter Eruption, but that will be changed soon. It amounts to gen pressure/regression in that it slows down progress, you'd want to not be on the gen when the killer slowed themselves down to kick it and chase the other person.

Seems fine and in balance, in so far as anything is here(considering the very wide spread of killer potential)

Letting killers have some control of an area, so that survivors should have to move to other areas of the map seems like good positive play, for both sides.

Most people are NOT good enough to get value out of DH. They will use it and it won't do anything for them besides take up a valuable perk slot.

That is why I said that the perk is useless to a large portion of the Survivor playerbase and why I did NOT say that the perk was useless

    Thanks.

Its the most used perk(From some guy who counted).

And I agree, not everyone gets to score with it.

They would be better served by WoO + Lithe.

True, I just wish he had other styles. I really like the idea of his power. Being able to summon minions and control the map should be cool. Being a necromancer juggernaut is cool to nerds like me. It just feels so undercooked and restrictive. You can't make the guards too strong in chase or else that's all they'll be used for, and you can't make them insane at defense or else you make the 3 gen problem worse. I really think if the guards had other utilities based on their character it'd make him so fresh. But that also comes with the problem of making them TOO strong or nuanced to be used in chase.

I like the idea of Jailer making up for his slow mobility and short chase time by blocking vaults or pallets. It at least gives him some utility in chase and potentially threatening outside of it. An Idea I would love for Carnifex is being able to throw a pallet to for him to break, but also making him disappear. Or Assassin triggering quietly. Anything to just play into their strengths and make them more interesting.

I don't mind going against the 3gen strategy, but I do not have the patience to set it up to use for myself.

I also think the guards could be fun if they had alternate uses, I'm not sure what it would look like.

Maybe if one could chase and expose on a hit, another call all auras in an area...

But, this sounds like a new killer.

  • I'm dumb.

How is deadhard useless to a large portion of the survivor playerbase?

    Anyone, please explain

  • I mean...

If you're going to say he specializes in 3 Gen camping, and refuse to use the perk tools that work with that tactic.

You're asking for a different killer?(I don't disagree about his strengths, btw).

  • Its 24 meters, which is small.

Why would you take away the opponents ability to counter your counter to CoB?

  • The first time I met a crew of these clowns, they sent me to Dead Dawg, and were only 3. The solo kate who they wanted to do their Gens caught on to what was happening before I did. She came up and wouldn't get out of my face until I killed her.

They are tough to manage, one might suspect some of the tools that let this happen to be actually, legitimately broken.

The nice thing though is its rare to encounter teams like this.

Maybe try survivor for a bit, you can still play the game and I often meet nicer people that way. Especially the killers, some of them are very considerate.

  • I don't care if they kill themselves.

Maybe they have a kitchen fire and gotta go deal with that.

    Angry Ex on the phone.

    RL Michael is behind them.

Its a game, if my opponent needs out, I want them out.

I saw potential Energy a lot when it first came out. It was really busted on the huge maps due to the pallet spawn bug at the time, but like all things survivor the builds went back to the meta. Knights perks actually opened up alot more builds for me. Hubris is amazing with Enduring Spirit Fury, Face The Darkness with Thrill of the Hunt is so good on Myers due to his small terror radius, Nowhere to Hide is amazing on Pyramid Head and Clown due to how you can work their powers around the loops.

The survivor Meta hasn’t really changed in the last six months. Outside DS not being used religiously it’s about the same. Two different types of Exhaustion perks, a gen perk of your choosing and then something that you’re good at. My friend gets Iri 1 each month while I sit near gold 4 and her build hasn’t changed since the “meta shake up”. It’s DS, OTR, DH, and B:COH. Switch OTR with BT and it’s basically the same meta from 2021. While my Doctor build and Huntress builds completely changed because of the meta rework. For the better due to learning new tactics but do rely on some high tier add-ons.

So I agree 100% with you that they can change things to even out the playing field but if the old meta is still the best you can get then it won’t change. Eruption needed a nerf but the way they are going about it is harsh and almost like they want killers to be upset. Yet that same old survivor meta is still there Weaker but alive. I feel like that’s the difference currently. Killer metas get hit hard and needed or hard and destroyed. Like they think sinking the ship will somehow get people to try different types of boats.

I think Nowhere to Hide was designed to go with Eruption.

I'm not sure people who primarily play killer will migrate to new builds, I think many will just move on.

TBH, the 3 gen defense with Eruption was a very simple build, and it did lead to some easy wins, especially when counting DCs and opposing player frustration that resulted in them just staying on gens to spite Eruption. The people who were playing like this for easy wins, might be leaving. Others may find more enjoyment in migration to the survivor side, especially if they enjoy the challenges of group communication.

  • They could have just buffed the opposing sided tools to counter the meta. I think potential energy was supposed to do that(counter tightly spawned generators), but the community doesn't like the tool, so it was not buffed for easy of use or power.

They could have superseded the current Eruption based gen kick meta with something else designed to introduce a new way to approach a match. More offense and less gen defense, maybe tweak killers so some are terrible at certain styles.

These could have been enjoyable options because you should see diversity of play styles and people who enjoy specializing in different match approaches. Some players want to play the Knight and camp a three gen from the start with Eruption as their founding perk. Other players don't want to kick a gen ever. Support both approaches. Behavior could have introduced new killers, as a way to monetize new perks that open up yet other approaches to matches.

Other players recommended that perks be split into groups and no multi perks from a group be allowed, the suggestion was made with the intent to ease balance concerns. Small adjustments to things like gen kick time, would make your offense build perk set not compatible with Eruption, as it was before the announced change. I think these ideas sound good.

I see the developers trying these approaches, perks they release, the design of killers and their powers seem to indicate that they want players to be able to pick a play style and grow with it. A lot of this community though, sadly does not want to evolve and learn to counter new things. They like their game play to revolve around the loops they are familiar with. That is a normal reaction and the developers would have to fortitude a bit to see their meta boasting and tweaking perks through their lifecycles until finally refined and comfortable to use by the audience.

In short, yes, I agree with you. The community cried and the developers did as requested, this time.

  • Please sell voice line packs for all the killers.

    I'll buy.

"They ######### my tomatoes up" was well worth the investment(GoW line)

  • To give survivors an alternate objective?

I guess, you could have someone go through the dead zone and up all the pallets.

Or, IDK maybe someone on their office SWF felt like Legion was totally breaking the game.

I have about the same as a solo survivor, though most survivors include hatch in their escape stats (I'm assuming OP did but would be interested to know) which, per the game's stats, isn't considered an escape. It's null and void.

    30% playing alone is good.

    All things considered.

30% of my solo matches I want to kill the other soloQ

  • You have a 31% survival rate playing as a solo survivor?

  • Yah, of course you can still win without slow down.

Its good to practice doing that to build chase and map skills.

Its not a big deal to lose, its actually good if you lose while working these things out. You will learn more from failure( I say this not to be a condescending ass, but to imply I did it, I lost doing it, and still do do it to keep learning.).

  • I really like the new icons and status bar.

As a killer it feels like the survivors can play more like a functional SWF, and I can normalize my approach to the match.

As a survivor, they are just fun and give specific information to work with. Its often that I'll watch a soloQ chased off a 80% gen and direct(or go to) a complete on that specific gen. Something you wouldn't normally expect or do without the % info from out of sight.

In a greater sense people were playing and still are playing the game "wrong"(as far as you could apply that term to a game) now, they can understand what leads to winning. Its not just run the killer around some objects abusing the survivor's smaller hit box, or hold W from pallet to pallet for 4 minutes, or camp a super strong structure. It lets the player know you can win by focusing on these highlighted things. I think that is good for this game. This one change has done by far the most to reduce the frustration I've personally experienced in SoloQ and non-coms SWF games.

I personally never cared that I got dead handed for distance back in the day. But that didn’t mean the perk wasn’t broken. Eruption IS broken and IS a problem, solely because of incapacitation, and the fact you could (still can with this nerf too) get hit with eruption working in a gen previously kicked ages ago that was at 0, and then you’d be out of the game for 25 seconds. Things can be broken, regardless of your fun in dodging it or not.

I really just wanted to say goodbye to the OP, because he went out of his way to play survivor and work around Eruption.

So in short: I appreciated the effort he put into figuring out how the perk actually worked and where it did what it did. And where it did not much of anything.

    But, to you.

    Broken was Hex: Huntress Lullaby.

Eruption did what the card said and wasn't broken by the definition of the word. It was annoying. It was difficult to work around. But broken doesn't mean those things.

Clearly your intent in @ing me, was not to debate definitions, it was to imply that your fun is more valuable than mine. You could have just said that.

Combined with Dead Man's Switch it basically produces the same effect that Behavior says Eruption was nerfed for, which is that it disadvantages survivors that aren't in swf on comms because they don't know when the downed survivor will be hooked. It'll be used by every killer now until it inevitably gets nerfed like every other meta regression perk.

    Would you kindly be quiet?

I was going to mess with that and now you went and pre-nerfed it.

The really frustrating part is that, running Empathy, I was actually getting pretty sharp at dodging Eruption. Like...occasionally I'd waste a bit too much time not working on that gen, but the only time it would catch me was an instadown killer.

There were much, much better ways of doing this - and people were suggesting them left right and center.

I hate to be a tinfoilhatter, but it's times like this where it's hard not to think BHVR have some sort of animus against killer players.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3341381#Comment_3341381

That Thana nerf hurt my soul, because that was just meanspirited. Not 'oh, this perk is annoying so we're changing it a bit' - full on 'we don't want you to ever use this perk again, stay mad'.

    And yes, that's frustrating.

I wanted to say that, Myself and people I play with also had fun dodging Eruption.

As far as Behavior and motives and mastery of their craft...

    lol

I made the mistake of assuming because 1 dude in there read his data accurately and didn't lie about it in public that as a team they had a republic sort of decision making process.

    I'm the ******.

Hope you come back soon. Its sad when fair minded people leave games.

  • This is so confusing.

10% of 99% is 9.9% which is less than 10%

10% of 10% is 1% which is less than 10%.

But, no sober person will care. Using this version of Eruption with most killers will mean you're dumb. You'd have to down someone, leave them slugged, run across the map to the gen that got Erupted chase them off the gen, down them using the 12 seconds of aura(from LP bonus) AND keep the other players off that gen.

I guess Blight can do this. I guess Wesker on a little map.

IDK what to do with that perk at this point.

yes because all killers in dbd are saints. the game is toxic because there are things in the game that shouldnt be in the game

I wouldn't say that, not at all.

I was pointing out how humans use group associations to bully people. They do, do this. Its why they were successful pack predators.

I didn't point out the psychological stress of the lone male(which I'm going to stereotype most killers as), because I didn't really pay attention during those parts of psychology. And also near everyone understands how dangerous one of those can be, AND because social media polices those on its own(to an extent).

I'm not trying to troll you back, I'm being very serious. The way the rolls are set up is unhealthy on both sides. I would never want someone I cared about to play the killer roll alone and estranged for extended periods of time.

They can fuel each other too. I remember a while back watching someone on Twitch. When they died they said "GG. Good killer". Some of their chat wrote "No, not GG. They were a trash killer" All these other insults at the killer. The streamer said "Yeah you're right. I take it back. They were trash. ######### killer" etc... They went from thinking it was good to ######### just because of their chat.

Yah, streamers are like professional or aspiring professional media figures, they must play to their audience. I don't begrudge them the tools of their jobs. I just don't personally like it in my recreation space and I think game companies are behind the trend on their stance toward negative streamers.

I will admit that some few are calm and morally grounded, showing acceptable sportsman ship under stress. And a few can make bad taste jokes without demonizing the "other". But, they are rare, and there would be more if they were properly coached/culled.

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

I mean if you want to take the entire match into account, then Eruption can trigger multiple times per match and can take out multiple survivors in one proc (for 25 seconds at a time), while regressing each generator it's activated on by 10%, plus up to another 6.25% from the default regression rate while a survivor recovers from incapacitated, which can only be stopped if an unaffected survivor comes and works on the generator.

The perk is massively overtuned at the moment. It needs a reduction in Incapacitated time.

As unpopular as it is to say, Eruption is a counterable perk. I also don't waste my Eruption time, when I'm hit with it, I'm off and on my way to the unhook, or stepping back and trying to mentally organize the field. The perk was like Noed with less of a "W" to find it and break it counter and more of a pay attention, and make reasonable choices solution.

The time wasted vs time wasted compared to Dead Hard across a match is I think, comparable.

In actually use(I used Eruption exclusively across all killers I played for like 3 months) it was unlikely it would hit 2+ survivors on a single generator. In practice I would get use of Eruption on the first gen I kicked, and wouldn't notice it until mid game because I would always be in a chase at that time. I would get late game value when gens wound down to 3-4, and this is the usage period that always generated after game hate.

Compared to Dead Hard, which regardless of what I take or do, I can swing at and wait, or wait and swing at. Neither one of us can produce numbers to settle the issue. We can only estimate based on our experience with the tools and the rolls they benefit. Eruption has clear potential to waste far more time, I seldom saw it do so. The relatively small amount of time wasted by dead hard per survivor is generally constantly present across the entire match.

The goal of my earlier post was to remind people that Dead Hard does indeed waste time. It waste time if you use it. It waste time if you assume it is present. It waste time in games its not even present in because its the most selected perk. Eruption doesn't have this magic, in practice.

I'm being as objective as possible, with both of these, to be blunt, my hidden agenda is I would rather neither perk was changed. Both seemed fine to me.

  • SoloQ can counter Eruption.

I got yelled at last night for countering Eruption.

You have to let go of the generator when you think the person being chased will go down.

This works, sometimes(especially if the person the killer is chasing is ********, you will need to let go of the generator a lot.)

This will sometimes, especially with the new icons make your soloQ buddies very angry with you.

This doesn't mean you're going to win, it means you will successful counter Eruption, and likely get yelled at by a ******.

    😍

  • They(usually) run another perk to allow them to get up if you bother to go back to the match itself.

I'm going to side with the original poster and shut the match down to corpse camp the idiot.

The other 3 can enjoy their Gen time.

Furin used to cause you to not hear the directional phasing sound if Spirit started phasing and you were outside her Terror Radius for any reason--maybe you were Oblivious, maybe she had Monitor and Abuse, maybe she was just far away etc.

Now, you hear the directional phasing sound as soon as she comes within audio range. Which means all Furin does is tell people that she's far away from them.

    Thanks.

It sounds useless now. I guess I'll mess around with in the morning and see if it is confusing to survivors in some way.

I think that is Spirit's perceived super power, she's confusing to face.

I don't think that's an apt comparison really, considering that waiting out Dead Hard takes like 5 seconds at most to wait out and Eruption takes you out of the game for 25 seconds.

You always wait it out. Every match, every chase. Its a lot of wait time when additioned.

Adding is rough, especially with variables. BUT. I think its usually over 25. No way am I doing the division to get an average across the average of a ton of games.

Get that spreadsheet nerd from the other thread for that crap!

  • Because they are 4 at once and affirm each other, against the one . This is the natural way humans function as predators. In vs out group. Its like the first pages of the sociology text book(or it was way back when).

Watch smaller twitch streamers, you can do it while you play against them, just let them win if it bothers you that they might think you are cheating for watching.

One person says a thing either in chat or in voice and on it goes, it takes a mountain of evidence to stop it at that point from being perceived as fact. As an example, I was watching a stream against the player sitting next to me. The twitch player was mostly not focused on the game and would flee the gens much too late, even after he was well aware he was facing Wesker. His assistant who was monitoring the game flow called CoB/Eruption. It took until the end screen for them to acknowledge that there was no CoB or Eruption. Only scourge hook.

I did not want to make mention of the toxic interactions that form along the same lines, because although I think we should point them out as a thing that is part of the community, I do no think we should showcase them.

  • okay 😊

The top of the game is survivor sided. This makes it a waste of time to invest in the skill building required to be competitive at that top edge. For both sides. Killer because its pointless outside of bight and Nurse. And survivor because ultimately, it'll be boring knowing you hold all the cards at match start.

Eruption is fine. You can counter play. People don't want to counter play because its such an annoying perk to get caught out by.

Dead hard is fine, even when perfectly timed at the pallet, and its fun to use.

BnP/potential energy/and stakeout+hyperfocus are not fine together. To much potential to take down gens at start and late game to allow for a killer to chase and still feel like they can play a safe game.

BHVR like most western corporations, is short sighted. By refusing to moderate their ambassadors for view count, they lay a vile bed for tomorrow.

Camping is fine, tunneling is not so fine, it really makes things unfun for the target, they should put some meeting/brainstorm time into making it fun or rewarding to be tunneled(lots of workable ideas around the forums from people who play both roles often.)

The negative parts of this community are borderline criminal. They are criminal in some parts of the world. I can't understand how BHVR doesn't feel a compulsion to get it under control.

  • I went and played in a private match with all the Spirit things and it looks like:

Dried Cherry Blossom is broken. You can hear the killer instinct heart beat, but not see the visual cue, and its 4 meters, which is near to touching hitboxes. I tried it along time ago, felt like it was broken and left it alone. It still seems broken. I guess with Mother daughter ring and running from gen to gen to pull people it could be workable. But it looks broken like this for normal play.

The furin doesn't seem any different.

Iron will doesn't do a whole lot by itself.( I forgot I had Stridor in, maybe that is making it easy to track them in the open with.)

    Bloodlodge.jpg

These type of tiles are hard to work around. With 3 different micro loops for the survivor, trying to use sound to find, and pre-emptively hit them takes me 30+ seconds. And that is more than one gen time.

  • That would make my survivor games less fun.

That would make my killer games more win.

Can't pick one. So I'll vote to just leave all stuff as it is. No trade.

And you are most welcomed to your own opinion. In my books Wesker is stronger and has more going for him than spirit so spirit for me does not go to top 3. She's strong but not unbeatable.

Her addons do the same thing with different wording. She has few strong addons that make people go googoo over gaagaa. I wish they would give her addons that would do more than just..give her more phasing or lessen the time to get her power back..or make her faster.. Furin is now poopoo too and its an addon i started using not too long ago..welp back to MDR for me ;)

What is the furin doing now? I read the patch notes, but it didn't make much sense.

It used to provide defacto slowdown because most survivors would get off the gens too often. It also messed up Lethal Pursuer for the same reason.

  • I think Wesker is better as well. Just stronger in base kit, his ability to mess with shift+W is very useful today. Wins more games than Eruption.

Its nice that it also works in loops with Vaults and pallets, but differently enough that survivors that won't play him, don't feel it coming. They only have deadhard to counter with.

Best way to counter her is to understand her POV best as possible. It’s best to know what possible plays she might make, and hearing where her general area is helps.

A lot of us Spirit mains use the directional audio to fool a survivor into thinking we’re headed towards one way but we actually double back. It all depends on how the Spirit plays at the end of the day.

I’m not the best with explaining things so I can send some Spirit clips of me playing as and against her.

So a common play at a generic loop like this for us is to short burst. Running away from a loop can work when you suspect a Spirit might do this, but keep in mind a Spirit can still see you’re running away and just chase after you. If that happens you can try a couple things: keep running if you think you can make another tile or if you can hear the Spirit is right on top of you, you can make a complete 180 if you can time it right (timing is if she’s close enough to you, the audio gets very intense when she does). It could throw her off, but it’s not something is always meant to work, but this is where mindgames come in to play: you can switch it up and make a quick 180 to make her think you turned around and then quickly do another quick 180. This has thrown me off a lot over my hundreds of hours playing this killer.

    https://medal.tv/games/dead-by-daylight/clips/tkEYsprfnvI6c

I would have to say camping pallets doesn’t work 9 times out of 10, especially when injured. Pallets aren’t going to be the savior, mindgames are. That clip from the Game, the loop is big enough to where the survivor could hear me coming from their left, so running right would’ve maybe threw me off here. It’s about changing up your routes and making Spirit guess on your location. Also, switch it up what you do each time to make it harder for Spirit to read what you do.

I won’t send too many more clips but I’ll send some clips of me playing against her, hopefully get a little visual of a Spirit main going against her.

First clip’s title is just a mockery to some friends I know who DC against Spirit instead of trying getting better against her lmao:

    https://medal.tv/games/dead-by-daylight/clips/DuN3Gso1dJKxA

I wish I had more clips of playing against her, but sadly she’s too rare in my games :(

Anyway, hopefully I explained everything well as I’m not the best with explaining things but I hope I was helpful nonetheless. If you have any questions let me know 🙂

Thank you. I asked for this sort of information in another thread, and you put it here, it's very helpful.

And it mirrors what I was starting to learn while using Spirit.

The short of it looks like:

Use her 4.4 movement speed to keep her away if she decides to straight chase you via conventional looping, she's slow.

Use the "W" key in the open she can only chase you so far in phase.

Don't wait at the spot you would normal stand at, like the pallet, she'll come out of phase and hit that spot because most people stand in that spot waiting for a visible killer so they can drop a pallet on them. Don't try to stand her off at a corner(like a shack tile.) for the same reason.

I also feel like areas with lots of debris that you would not normally loop are good. Good because sound doesn't show exactly where a survivor is, it just shows the general area, and thin walls, barrel stacks, and so on could have the survivor on either side of an object you can easily see over/through but can't hit through.

On the use of sound topic, is there some headphone metric that makes some of them better? I use them to play Spirit now and I'm wondering if there is a specific attribute that some have that would make her sound usage more accurate.

I ask because I want to better deal with things like Shack wall. I can hear a survivor, but with no echo modeled or modelling of sound diffusion through the wood walls, it can be awfully hard to tell which side of the wall the survivor is actually on.

One of the most toxic DBD streamers around has a cosmetic that you can still purchase in the Charity Case DLC, so I would not bet any money on BHVR curbing toxic behavior in the streaming community. They literally do not give a flying #### about it.

That is a very sad thing.

But, thank you for the depressing information.

The more you know about the people you give your money to!

    ☺️

  • @legacycolt said:

There’s not much you can do against spirit. Try to not get injured at all cost and if you’re injured, camp pallets if she’s phasing towards you. If you have no headset/ bad ears you don’t have a chance.

    Spirit needs a nerf imo

    ☺️

The counter is, complain on the forums until she gets a nerf

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/363939/am-i-the-only-one-worried-about-the-next-perk-update

The real problem is that they will destroy every gen regression perks that make killer still be playable at top mmr to the point that everyone will only play nurse, blight and spirit. At the same time, devs will not change shits like prove thyself that actually break the game. Prove thyself is the most unbalanced thing in the game, I win games at top mmr because of this, also with medium chases. Last night I repaired a gen with another surv and with only prove thyself (no toolboxes, no hyperfocus, no other perks to speed up gens) we managed to repair a gen from like 0 to 100% faster than another surv who had a gen at like 50% when we started repairing (no missed skill checks). Maybe on low mmr this is balanced because survivor really last 2 seconds in chase, and this can prevent ending up games with 5 gens remaining, but at top mmr is really broken. Devs should stop balancing dbdaround noobs and start to balance the game around top players.

I'm pretty sure I want nothing to do with the original topic but "...Nurse, Blight, and Spirit..."

Nurse and Blight I get, they have mobility or the ability to ignore structures. But Spirit, doesn't feel like she's in the same place.

I get that she was broken for a bit, but she's slowish normally without mother daughter ring, which means BNP and so on really hurt when trying to go gen to gen. And without the scratch marks, finding by sound does work, but its not super accurate.

Am I missing something in how to employ this killer? Is there a person who does videos a lot, that has these issues resolved?

Perfect Cell or Handsome Jack would be glorious. The one-liners would be great. They also share the same voice actor. XD

I would pay for handsome jack.

    Sarcasm as M2.

  • Mother daughter ring.

    Try the furin instead sometimes.

  • Yes, I do this.

It helps to understand which situations are totally a waste of time on different maps.

I usually think of it as learning. And often they make a mistake and it ends the chase.

  • Doesn't all of this violate the EULA and allow for Behavior to revoke the streamers license to play DbD?

I mean, of all the negative experiences i've been around in this community small streamers are far and away the worst. You would think Behavior would not want these people using their game for profit and making it look like an internet bully's dream playground.

  • The survivor icon buff is huge. I went from like 10% survival rate to 50%, some due to skill building, a lot due to knowing what gen is at what % when the killer chases the other solo off it.

Playing killer, the survivors feel more coordinated, but not yards away from where they were. You can still kill them.

None of it feels like a SWF sweat squad, except a SWF squad.

  • I usually:

    PUT CAPS LOCK ON.

Imagine I am Sam from I am Sam.

Respond from that point of view.

Have fun and wish them a great day.
