It's not "wasting a perk slot" if it does something you want to counter.
it's wasting at that point when it blocks a perk that could help me in the game whereas these perks prevent certain killer actions that shouldn't have to be prevented in the first place. so ultimately they are wasting a perk slot.

If you really want to make tunneling/camping less appealing then make spreading hooks worthwhile. 3 survivors with 1 hook each is far worse than 1 survivor with 3 hooks.
that's exactly what basekit no way out would be for. encouraging to hook multiple ppl.

"i guess i have only depipped once in all the years of playing dbd as a killer and i play fair in 99,9 % of my matches. "
I don't even know why you threw in this comment. I said in my original post I find it a lot easier to lose a pip as survivor. I don't often lose pips as a killer but neutral is common. Are you getting confused with a pip loss and a neutral outcome?
I might go easy and let survivors go but I'm not going to farm due to a DC and you shouldn't need to farm to avoid a pip loss.
At the moment I'm Iri 2 for survivor (all solo Q) Killer I'm Iri 4. So yes, I know how to pip and how it works. My original comment still stands for my personal experience. You obviously have a different experience and that's fine.
i have made this statement because of your previous statement that you got a depip because somebody dc'd and you played nice against the remaining survivors. that's the reason why i have stated this, but whatever...that's not important and yes you "shouldn't" have to farm to avoid depipping, but behavior seems to only leave this as an option and that sucks!
well it's good that you can climb up enough and that you have less bad experiences in dbd. lucky you! we can definitely agree on losing pips being a problem though i guess and no i'm not confused about black pipping (neutral pips) and losing pips (-1 pip)!

It's not my experience. Just last night. I had a DC so decided to go nice on the survivors. I didn't want to lose a pip so I hooked everyone once and got into some chases (good deal of the match was chasing someone). Kicked gens. Still de-piped. So yes, I was punished for a DC and then trying to make the game tolerable for the remaining survivors.
But, I know everyone is going to have different experiences.
well if you go nice on survivors just because somebody had a dc you will get less points obviously. i don't count this into consideration for the problem. i guess i have only depipped once in all the years of playing dbd as a killer and i play fair in 99,9 % of my matches. if survivors tried to ######### me up i made the match more tense though.
you can still play normally after somebody dc'd. survivors will make points if they aren't chased. either they heal or repair generators, but if you face camped one of the three remaining survivors for example after someobody dc'd that camped survivor obviously would depip and you would gain less points, too. if you rly wanted to play nice in such a situation you could still farm points by showing these survivors you won't kill them by hitting the gen for example. they repair the generator a bit and then you kick it again. you let them stun you and you break the pallet. you can still play nice while hooking everybody remaining twice without killing them and still make enough points to get a pip or even two.
on the survivor side though you depend on the attitude of the killer. if you didn't let the survivors farm some points after they had to deal with a dc they will most likely depip. so the next time you want to go nice on survivors and experienced a dc you can do signalize these survivors that you will let them farm and you farm yourself. then you won't depip even if you go nice on them.

I find it a mixed bag. I find I very rare to lose pips but very easy to have numerous matches where I just end up neutral for killer. Where survivor sure it's easier to lose pips but often felt like I did nothing all match and still get a pip. Where as with killer I felt like I sweat my arse off and still come out neutral.
well you of course get at least 0 pips or 1 pip as survivor if nothing of the things listed above in my comment happened. if you get tunneled or even face camped 1st hook one minute into the game you will not even get a neutral outcome, but rather lose a pip. so you are punished for toxic behavior of that killer. it's already frustrating enough being face camped 1st hook or tunneled all game long without the ability to do much about it. some killers don't even care if you have protection like ds or off the record. they will just shred through your protection and you're done for anyways. as killer you really have to stand around afk in order to just get a neutral pip because you get points for hitting survivors, finding/chasing survivors, kicking generators, closing the hatch, snuffing totems, using your power and many other things whereas as survivor you can basically just heal, repair gens or get chased and only one at a time.

Just slap on nurse and you'll be iri 1 in no time
In contrast it's much harder to get a 4-man swf of good players together.
well since i'm nowhere good with nurse that would be hard and i feel like i'm getting 4 man swfs like 90 % of my matches.

@Ithiria said:
Either that or make pipping easier for survivors
Getting my monthly Iri 1 on killer basically just requires me to have a pulse. Getting it on survivor would probably require me to get in a really sweaty team.
it's in fact easier on killer, but it's still not easy. you need weak survivors, no sweaty swfs etc. for survivor you simply just need an idiot of a killer who face camps and/or tunnels you. i have just played 6 hours survivor today which felt like 100 matches and i have made 0 progress on grades. i got a depip, a depip, a depip, another depip, a depip and oh did i forget to say depip? it's no fun playing this game at all anymore especially when the devs just ignore crucial things like this or allow players to abuse game mechanics like face camping and tunneling.

Not all events have tomes to get rewards. Sometimes you have some objects or offerings to use and interact with. So yeah. It's different.
yeah i know...it's not the first event i have played in dbd though i thought i remembered that this event had a separate tome to it, too.

All cosmetics are from envelopes as stated in pop up card. And if you touch this paper lantern you get an extra cosmetic this trial. That's it, there's no tome with cosmetics, envelopes give you 10 already.
yeah...so it's not like the bone chill event and just tied to the red envelops opened by other players in the trial.
-
@Seanzu said:
there is no tome, it's just the information on the pop-up card.
there always was an event tome u could access through this window and it was also shown in the compendium, but it's not. you can even unlock cosmetics from the moonlight burrow. where are these challenges listed in order to gain the moonlight burrow cosmetics if not in a seperate tome?
that's how the last bone chill event tome looked like btw.
-
i actually like the colors of the old version though i don't get why they removed the mask. besides that i really don't get why they still didn't add nea's system smasher outfit from tome 5 unleashed collection. there is no reason to hold them back. they would even make money by finally adding all the old outfits from previous rifts at once. there is no need to give them to us piece by piece. especially if they even add newer rift outfits before they add old ones like nea's system smasher outfit. yeah nea might have many outfits already compared to like bill just having one, but that also has a reason...nea is one of the best survivors in the game.
every rift outfit should be automatically added to the store the time a new rift starts or at least like they initially said after 6 months have passed. there should be no holding back, no other outfits first or whatever other bullshit behavior tries to tell us. you can still create new outfits while still adding outfits from previous rifts. it's not like behavior just has 1 employee. they have got plenty of employees doing different stuff. adding old outfits that were already designed shouldn't be much of a problem.
-
yeah i don't know what is taking bhvr so ######### long to add this simple outfit. they have added numerous other outfits from the past that were even released past nea's system smasher outfit from tome 5 unleashed collection yet it's not in the shop. pretty much 2.5 years have past now since this tome and it's good bhvr is adding new cosmetics into the game keeping it attractive, but this outfit is in my opinion one of the best outfits and people who missed this tome are pretty screwed no matter the reason.

It only works when inside a terror radius. When I’m dream world you are oblivious so technically you don’t have a terror radius which renders the perk completely useless on Freddy
yeah i know that, but they weren't in the dream world and if survivors aren't asleep you have got a normal terror radius like every normal killer.

i don't get how ppl can complain about reassurance being good enough...it's not! the nerf to reassurance making it work only once perk survivor per hook stage was already a huge nerf. sure keeping survivors hostage on hook would have been a problem, but that could have been changed by implementing a mechanic similar to the wiggle skill checks or something like this in which the survivor would have been able to cancel the forced longer hook time themselves. reassurance should have no limit to usage in my opinion. it IS an anti-camping perk because you can prolong the hook time for a survivor. there is no other reason to lengthen the struggle phase of a hooked survivor if it wasn't for camping. if the killer is not camping you can simply unhook the survivor. then this perk would have had no use, but since it IS indeed against camping killers this perk has to work properly as an anti-camping perk. the range should at least be 10 meters, but i'd rather suggest 16 meters because even 16 meters isn't that much. there is no reason to limit the range itself despite making it usable from 100 meters across the map while still repairing a generator. if it's meant as an anti-camping perk which it is then there shouldn't be such a low range. this perk shall prevent killers from camping a survivor on hook because camping killers want to benefit from a quickly sacrificed survivor to have way more pressure on survivors. if you can forbid this as a survivor then the killer is in much more pressure. no killer should just stand there on hook semi-afk and gain benefit from it. behavior has to address camping and tunneling in this game just like cheating/hacking. there has to put an end to camping and tunneling killers because they don't just ruin the fun of the hooked survivors, but it's not much fun for themselves either.
so behavior should revoke the changes they made as following:
- increase the range to 10 to 16 meters
- remove the limited usage per survivor or hook stage
- add an option to opt-out as hooked survivor in case of kept hostage (for example add an option to forcefully end the reassurance effect as a hooked survivor. therefore nobody can be held hostage and camping can be prevented or at least drastically reduced.)

Agreed on basement bubba camping stairs.
Disagree on artist in main of garden of joy (you take hit, use sprint burst to run close by hooked person, use reassurence and run away to heal again - artist either chases - so unhook can happen, or camps and people do gens).
For harassment across the map - dms is 30s (and you can easily dodge crows on such a distance). That's 1 reassurence worth of time. 60 more seconds to do gens and then trade. I mean - it's not ideal, but you CAN play around it - especially if 2+ people take the perk.
But sure - getting 2-6m longer activation range would be reaaly nice
well i have had this artist match as said and i tried to use reassurance as you have said. since this didn't work i had to hook swap. i was the only person having this perk or at least if i can remember correctly since nobody else used it. if the artist can shoot each gen (30 secs dead man's switch IF hit obviously) they even out and you gained nothing from it. that's the problem. what was even more of a problem is that when i did the hook swap i was hit by the stairs, used the speed boost exactly as you have said to unhook. this main building is a mess and i wouldn't even have gotten out of the house without going down even if i ran away. she closed the distance way to quickly for me being able to make it out of the building alive. not to speak of an artist with stbfl which would make it impossible to do this because the recovery time of her hit would be even way less than it was in my case. 12 meters should be minimum for this perk and i'm not asking for 32 to 72 meters or something in order to be able to use this perk across the whole map while you are repairing gens. i'm speaking of simple kindred or even wiretap range and that's not even really much.
-
@Gandor said:
SoloQ usually does not know how to play around the perk. You use it and you run away. You don't unhook. You do gens.
Once reassurence is about to expire, another survivor uses it (if there is one) OR you trade if there isn't. 2 reassurences in a game will change killers mind, or he looses all the gens for 0-1k. The perk is awesome. But lack of knowledge/coordination around the perk make it much weaker in soloQ (which is reason why it probably needs buff).
Still. I take the perk to my soloQ games every time - and it helped me A LOT. Killers usually drop facecamping because of it
well i agree to the point that knowledge can ruin every perk just like reassurance, but i have also said that you can't even use it in certain situations. a basement camping bubba will still be able to basement camp or my example with the artist camping a hook being able to still shoot birds and harass ppl on gens all over the map and the problem with this is that if you let go it would automatically block at least for the time dead man's runs. that's just hella stupid. no killer should be able to camp somebody and still harass gens at the same time. not even huntress could do this effectively on all gens even if you were good with huntress. some gens are hid behind walls etc. artist doesn't care about that except if gens are elevated. you can't use reassurance on somebody being camped by a bubba in basement. i have tried it multiple times and if the killer is camping the stairs it's even worse because you can't get close at all. the range definitely has to be increased. there is one occasion though i use reassurance before unhooking or maybe two. one being to finish a gen that's close to being done to then unhook or to secure i'm able to unhook in time in last second because there is a chance i might not make it in time. besides that i use the perk and do something else, but despite the perk being even weaker in solo q which i mostly play the range is still way too low.

And I purposely camp those who are under Reassurance, by the way I noticed such statistics, they try to save a survivor under this perk more often than others, sometimes I purposely camp the owner of this perk. I don’t camp at all, but if a match uses such a perk as soon as I hang, i.e. I didn’t even have time to move away from the hook, then I instantly start camping to show that their perk will not work. If they make a camper out of me, then please, I will camp)
camping is your own decision. ppl like me also just use it for camping killers to gain benefit from camping. in 99 % of the cases i unhook the killer is nowhere near except they are camping and then i will use this perk to prevent this or at least give the hooked some match time. nobody wants to die 1st hook hanging there without the possibility to do anything else or gain points for anything else in the match. killers who just camp to camp are stupid and should not remain in the game. if i camp which already is a rare occasion i do it for a good reason. i will never facecamp one person on hook 2 hook stages straight. that's simply lame and if you need that you are a really bad killer.

Too many killers are just eating the Endurance and the DS stun because there is no real punishment for doing so. 3 seconds isn't enough to make killers respect it. It makes for terrible gameplay and ruins the game all together. I am mainly a killer player and I find this to be boring to do and unfun for myself as well. I think DS deactivating at endgame is fair enough. It is legit open season on the scummy gameplay with how easy it is to tunnel with this change.
nah i don‘t think they should revert the nerfes because this would just interfer with all the nerfes that occurred.
there is a big problem with camping and tunneling killers in general at the moment though. if bhvr doesn’t address this, the game won‘t change in a healthy matter. almost every match i play is either me running the killer for 3 to 5 gens and being constantly tunneled or being hardcore camped 1st hook. none of these matches are fun at all. an improved ds e. g. wouldn’t changed anything at all in this concern. this game needs punishment for camping and tunneling killers. camping and tunneling is a valid tactic to an extend, but the way killers abuse this isn‘t. you should lose points or survivors should get increased healing/repair speed the longer you stay at a hook. even the new perk reassurance and kinship in combination couldn’t help me enough in these matches. it‘s just pure pain and no fun at all playing this game at the current state and i definitely don’t want the „old meta“ back because camping and tunneling also existed there.
regarding this losing pips because you got tunneled or camped to oblivion is just another huge problem. yeah ranks are gone, but i still want as many bp as i can get until rank reset still.

Don’t use this perk on Wraith, Myers, Pig, Ghostface and ironically Dredge himself
i have also somehow didn't get any value on freddy. this perk might be bugged in general though cause none of the pallets broke when they fast vaulted them while i was in direct chase with them after i hit them some seconds ago. that's totally bullshit. 5 to 10 pallets weren't destroyed due to that and i had to manually kick them all.

Dear Support,
okay I have got a huuuuuuuge improvement idea for the UI or hud in general. Instead of just pleasing certain people why not make every player happy at once? How to do that you ask? I will tell you:
Enable a way to adjust size and position of the UI and hud for each player freely. One person could put the hook counter top right, another top left. Another person could want to put the complete profile pictures top right or position them below the addons. Another person wants to keep the gens (objective) in top middle and yet another person wants to keep them bottom left next to the addons like it's now. Again another person doesn't want to change anything cause they are happy with the UI & hud how it looks and performs now.
Giving everybody the option to adjust the UI & hud position is a huge step for the Dead by Daylight community and would save you so much adjustments and #########-talk afterwards. You have already put player based scaling or sizing into the game to make it possible for each player depending on their platform or screen to scale the UI to their likings so everything is visible. So why not allow player based adjustments to location of UI & hud?
A good example for a game who allowed that via addons in the game is one of the biggest game creators alive Blizzard with their game World of Warcraft. There you can download addons that allow you to freely move ingame windows and scale their sizes as you please.
So if I would think that the avatars on the left side are trash for me cause they block my sight I could just move them to the top right or whereever else I wanted to. That would add so much live balance to the Dead by Daylight community that you would be amazed how many people would be happy at once.
That would not just leave you as a publisher more space to concentrate on more important improvements in the game like bugs, the hitbox problem from before, glitches, graphical bugs, server improvements, queuing, new MMR (ranking system), graphical improvements for maps and whatever there is that could be implemented or improved in the game.
Shifting the "responsibility" to players shifts so much load off of your own shoulders that you could use these freed resources for other projects or problems in the game and not having to readjust the UI & hud over and over again because it doesn't fit to peoples likings, blocks certain views or whatever.
This option to scale and position UI & hud elements wouldn't just be good for the normal player base, but also improve the life for streamers or youtubers who need to adjust their picture (if they are using one) to certain corners just as their chat (if activated on screen) to be at certain sight blocking positions. Therefore a streamer could just put the hud elements all to the left side and leave camara/chat on the right side (just as an example).
So here you go! You are welcome! Doing this improvement or change would not just make playing community members happy, but also get people who stopped playing Dead by Daylight back into the game because they said the new UI & hud positions "sucked" or "are trash". This improvement would also bring back certain streamers I know of who stopped playing cause the new UI & hud positions are "trash". This would even be marketing for your company and the game because people who watch these streamers would maybe start playing. There you go! New player base aquisation.
Now it's in your hands if you follow this nicely meant improvement and put it into execution as soon as possible or if you keep it like it is. Then I can guarantee you though that many people will stop playing or leave the game untouched until you guys make an improvement that is to their liking. I don't know if this was in your interest losing potential customers or make the community in general unhappy.
With that being said! I'm looking forward to these improvements and your response in general.
Thank you for reading and your time!

well my memory isn't great due to health issues and i can't remember everybody who I have just hooked not even who I have recently hooked. For me this information is crucial and I guess for every other killer who can't remember that or is still new to the game this information would be of need. Furthermore if I want to tunnel I will just tunnel no matter what. I would just eat the DS and still go after this person if tunneling was my intention, but the lack of this information gives me no opportunity than tunneling sometimes because as stated I forgot who I have hooked pretty easily. I wasn't really talking about the general hook counter because I know if I killed only 1 survivor, 2 survivor or if I killed 3 or 4 survivors how good my overall performance was hook-wise at least.
If I had the information though if I hooked this person just some seconds ago then I wouldn't tunnel this person thus DS would be of no need anymore in the game...at least not as it is now that almost every survivor has it equipped. So if for example there are two claudettes who look exactly the same you couldn't even know which of the two the claudettes was I hooked recently. Still I can't remember who I hooked though until they die on hook. In my opinion it wouldn't encourage tunneling because I have information about whom I have hooked and who not. Every player playing this game should know that if I tunneled all four survivors one after the other my game would be over in like 5 minutes. That's not many bloodpoints and considering how long it sometimes take to find matches I would take longer in queues than in a match. I doubt people would be looking forward for that.
Plus I could also just work around the DS like keeping the person on the ground bleeding and watch like this person dies on the ground just because I fear DS. I don't really think this would be more fun for survivors keeping everybody slugged on the ground until they die. So having this information on who I have just hooked previously and then go for a different person would give me freedom to choose as a killer because the lack of this information doesn't prevent killers from tunneling. Killers can still tunnel if they want to without this information. So that's no valid statement against this information in my opinion.
