All it does is add More dodgers to Que times.
I have played on ping of well over 500 before and there is no noticeable difference in game play ...
Also fix Your Que algorithm, This whole 30 minute Que for killer is really Destroying this game for me.If I am waiting longer than 5 minutes in a Que you need to fix how this is handled
No. No, no, no, no, no, no.
it's a good thing that there's ping indicators in this game.
In fact, we didn't use to have them - they're relatively new. A couple of years ago we didn't have the region lock and the ping indicators and people were constantly complaining about getting into a match against people from the other side of the moon with such insanely horrible ping that either ruined everyone's experience or actually made people lose connection.
Ping indicators need to stay.

Firstly, it doesn't make much sense how Survivors can stick their hands into bear traps and disarm them, but can't kick dirt over some mud triangles.I am a Killer Main and it might surprise you to hear that I completely agree with you. It doesn't make sense. You're right - while we're at it, though, let's go over a few more things that make no sense:
It makes no sense for any Survivor other than Jake Park to know how to repair a generator and for all of them to be able to repair at the same speed.
Jake Park is specifically the kind of person who knows what to do with generators, but how does a botany enthusiast college student, a gambler, an athlete, a teacher, a timid office worker, a street artist, an eSports gamer, a musician, a suburban babysitter etc know what to do with generators?
non-Jake Survivors should not be able to repair generators, at least not without having Jake walking them through it - also, I feel like a generator blowing up in their face should do more than just regress progression and give a notification to the Killer, it should actually hurt them.It makes no sense for there to be four people who are all the same person, in the same match (four Claudettes, for instance), when that person was not established as having multiple twins who came with them into the Fog.
It makes no sense for any of the characters to have cosmetics - I mean, where did they even find a gypsy outfit just lying around!?
It makes no sense for a Survivor to be run through with a chainsaw, remain in one piece and upon getting rescued from a hook or healed up, that same Survivor magically has full mobility and use of their limbs with no consequences or permanent damage.
A Survivor who wasn't cut in half by something like that should at least have all kinds of scary damage - maybe even paralyzed for life from a severed spine. While we're on the subject, it also makes no sense for a Survivor to be hung from a meat hook that went through their shoulder - sometimes even lower in their chest (through where a lung or a heart might be) and be perfectly fine when taken off the hook.
Healing in this game makes no sense, either. I'm sorry, you just had a hatchet go through your skull but somebody came over and gave you a 16-second massage and you're back to normal? While we're on the subject, how does any Survivor other than Claudette (and maybe one or two of the others) know what to do to give medical assistance to anyone? How do they do it without using a first aid kit? No sense at all.
Why do Killers need to M1 hit Survivors twice? You'd think a machete going right in your shoulder would stay there or bring someone right to their knees. I'm sorry, what kind of sense does it make for a normal person to get hit with a hammer or an axe right in the head and not be a convulsing mess on the ground?
Speaking of sense, why do pallets stun Killers? Especially if they weren't dropped directly on them? You know that thing that happens when you drop a pallet and a Killer is barely touching it's furthest corner but it somehow stuns them? What the hell happened there, did it stub his toe? Why would something like that even bother a monster like the Hillbilly or an actual undead slasher?
What kind of sense does Dead Hard make? "I lunge forward, dipping my shoulder in an awkward dodge attempt" - and somehow that makes my hatchet pass through you!? What are you, Caspar the Friendly Ghost!? No, you can't magically permeate through solid objects in real life.
Also, what kind of sense does the Entity make!? Oh, there's some mysterious magic space-satan kidnapping random people and making them play the same game over and over because it "feeds" from it? And Freddy Krueger exists as well, somehow?
No sense, man. No sense at all.
.........................................................................but on a serious note, and please don't take it as an offensive expression but "git gud". Flashlights and timing are things. The more you practice and play against the Hag, the more you'll realize what the weaknessed of her traps are and how and when to counter them.

My only issue with this is that killers get double sometimes triple the points a survivor can nab. This needs balancing. I get that you want to draw people to play killers but triple the points seems a bit absurd.Since you can't play Killer, yourself, you don't know what playing Killer is like.
I'll give you the short version: Playing Survivor is like going on a chill vacation in the Bahamas, playing Killer is like thisThere needs to be an incentive for playing the 1 role in the 4v1 (especially when 4>1).
Survivors may not be making as many points as the Killer in most matches, individually, but they have an easier time getting those points.
The easiest and most common Survivor point gains come from passive things that do not require interaction with the Killer in any way. Repairing a generator, for example, nets about a quarter of your Objective category for passively holding M1 and occasionally hitting a skill check for additional point gain. Healing a teammate in safety while someone else is getting chased, cleansing totems (600 points per dull totem, much much more for an actual Hex) and unless the Killer is nearby - pulling someone off a hook nets 1000 points plus 500 for the safe hook rescue event. If you actually do interact with the Killer, you get even more points - well over 1000 if you can stun the Killer with a pallet even just once, not to mention the hundreds (if not many, many, many more) you can get from just being slightly out of the Killer's reach for about a minute.
I've had Survivor matches where I did 1-2 gens, rescued about one or two people, healed one person, stunned the Killer once, died promptly... and nearly double-pipped.
Killers, on the other hand, get all of their points from direct interaction with the Survivors. You need to find Survivors, chase them and catch them if you want to get points.
This involves you going through a gauntlet of loops and frustration, including borderline-bullying from the Survivors. The Killer is also a lone player, you're a member of a team.
Who do you think has to work harder in this match, for example?
-
Oh and PS - the same Billy Box always holds the key for a specific Survivor's Traps, regardless of whether it's the first trap or another one. Once they find their box, it's always the same box for them in that match.
-
Let me tell you what I hate about the Pig's Traps and how I think they don't work.
First, since it's all based on RNG, a Survivor with an RBT on their head might get it off in about 15 seconds within getting unhooked since Billy Boxes might spawn right next to the hook ("we've learned from our Hex Totem spawns", have we, BHVR?) and the first box they check might be the one holding their key.
Second, the rules for how and when the Traps work sometimes feel like it's just basically "maybe they will trigger and maybe they won't".
Survivors can do 4 gens, you can put a trap on one of them and then watch as that person gets up, isn't being chased and yet his trap doesn't activate - and it remains inactive even if he's the last Survivor alive.Even if you read all the rules for how the Traps activate, you will still find yourself playing a match and blinking at an inactive trap indicator while thinking "why did this trap not activate yet!?".
Third, the second part to the "maybe they will trigger..." rule is "...but does it matter?" - Survivors get 2 and a half minutes to take the trap off and this is even after the trap is activated. If you want to waste an Addon slot for Tampered Timer (although, to be fair, the Pig has garbage addons - half of which actually don't work at all and have never been fixed - so "waste" is a bit of a stretch) all you've done is cut the timer down to a whopping 2 minutes.
Btw, guys, in case you're wondering, it takes less than a minute and a half for a Survivor to complete a generator without any benefits from stuff like Great Skill Checks, Toolboxes and Perks that enhance repair speed.
In my opinion, a basic and decent QOL change in favor of the Pig would be if searching Billy Boxes would at least actually inflict the Injured state (the animation certainly suggestes this is what's happening!) and the Broken or Mangled state for a certain amount of time (nothing crazy, just 60 seconds).
Another one is to rework the Addon that disables Survivors' ability to see Billy Boxes when their trap isn't active and to make that effect just a base thing.Another change (unrelated for the traps) would be to make the Pig's red stain go away quicker when she crouches (takes about 3 seconds for the heartbeat to go away, but 6 seconds for the red stain - why is that? just 'cuz).
I also wouldn't mind them boosting up the crouching speed. But yeah, right now Pig's Traps = EZ LIFE (for the Survivor).
Don't expect any of this to change any time soon - Freddy is the Killer they'll be working on next and who knows how long it'll take them before BHVR looks at Pig again and says "Pig is fine".@Killmaster said:
Bear traps are not guaranteed kills, if survivors have the will to survive they will escape them just like the films.I'd just like to point something out regarding this.
I watched almost all the Saw movies (all except the most recent ones, I believe Saw 3D and whatever the newer one is called - some people might love the franchise, but I don't. Still, I watched most of it.) and I'd like to point out that in the movies about 97% of Jigsaw's victims die horribly to whatever trap or test Jigsaw subjects them to... the other 2% are Jigsaw's Disciples - and even one of those also later dies to Jigsaw's pointless games. There's maybe one person shown to have survived Jigsaw's games and she was in no mood to even say "gg ez".
Watch CinemaSins' "Everything Wrong with Saw" clips on YouTube for some laughs about that.In other words, if the game was really true to the Saw movies then Survivors would spawn already trapped in all manner of grisly contraptions, have an impossible time limit to complete some horrible

So right now, struggling is more annoying than anything.
Why does it has to be a button smasher?
How about we change it to skill checks. If the survivor fails the skill checks, he dies. If the manages to hit a great skill check, he gets some more seconds on the hook. This would also award points for people being camped. My understanding from what the Devs have said back in the day is that they wanted the player feeling whatever their character was going through. So I guess they wanted you to feel as though you are struggling.
In reality, it's hard to make a player seated in comfort feel what their Meg or Trapper are feeling on the screen (they did a better job with Killers - I really do feel like my eyeballs are being burned whenever someone flashlight blinds me).
What they really gave me with the "mash Space to not die" thing is a reason to become very conscious of how loud my keyboard must sound..._ to my neighbours, at 3 am_.Quite a lot of people rebind the struggle key, as well.
The problem is that there isn't really a better way to do it.
If you think skillchecks are a great solution, wait until you instantly die because you got hit with a 4-o'clock skillcheck appearing with no warning on the left side of your screen, with the success zone the size of the dot at the end of this sentence because you were playing in a Doctor match and the Killer had Unnerving and Huntress' Lullaby.Or just die instantly because when you hit the button and when the dial actually hits the success zone are two different things due to latency.

The game is already fun.
I do not tunnel any game and I still win..Translation: "I'm a Survivor Main trying to discredit Killers".
That, or you're fresh as daisies to this game. There is simply no way in hell that you've played more than a match and came out of it thinking "Killer is the power role here, Survivors are weak and fun to catch, there are no problems with the game, the gen pace is fine" - not unless you've played inebriated.
Have a watch of this.
Enjoy the sobering. -

Dont get me wrong the new clown killer is pretty cool in how he plays and looks, my one question however is this. Why on Earth when you pallet stun The Clown doesnt his nose honk?! I feel like this would really add to him as a character!I would have also accepted if instead of a heartbeat and normal chase music, there would have been the Benny Hill theme playing, kind of like how the music is different for Myers.
It's very appropriate for the current state of the game and the power level of the character.

Killers I hate facing as Survivor: As a small note before I get into it, I never really "hate" facing any of the Killers in the game. There may be aspects of some Killers that I find annoying but I always have fun.
The only exceptions are just things that annoy me.Hag: the Hag forces me to spend most of my time holding down the crouch button and if I don't have Urban Evasion equipped I just can't be bothered. This change to the way I move is really grating since Dead by Daylight is not paced for a "take it nice and easy, slow and cautious" kind of playstyle - it's a fast-paced "only one gen left!? Hooow!?" nightmare for all and goddamit I have got to double-time it if I want to have a chance at a pip here...
Doctor: No need to go too much into it, but let's just say that 3 gens + Doctor = 40 minute game with 0 kills until the Doctor finally has enough and decides to just commit to a single chase, at which point he loses and we all get to sit in the after-game chat and agree never to discuss this again.
Hillbilly: "Noooo, I brought Dead Hard instead of Sprint Burst!" (instantly gets taken down) "GAWDDAMMIT! I couldn't even-! There was nothing-! I couldn't even-! Who the hell desig-!?"
Huntress: "lol, ez hatchet dodge! Who the hell designed these things? She not only has to take an hour to ready them, but she announces that she's doing it with that silly sound effect and at the end, there's a slow projectile moving towards you at snail-speed, which you can dodge by turning slightly to the left and it might even get intercepted by invisible walls and the debris that's lying everywhere. She really needs a buff, this g-- WHAT THE #########!? SHE HAS IRIDESCENT! Oh, that is some buuuullshit right here... Oh, please don't camp me as well. You're gonna camp me as well, aren't you? GAWDDAMMIT! I couldn't even-! There was nothing-! I couldn't even-! Who the hell desig-!?"
Wraith: "LOL, it's Wraith! AHAHAHAHA!" (he turns out to be actually good) "Oh god, I'm losing to a Wraith. I hope no one sees this. Please don't be a streamer. Oh thank god, a pallet! I'm just gonna heal he-- WHAT!? Oh he has Windstorm! GAWDDAMMIT! I couldn't even-! There was nothing-! I couldn't even-! Who the hell desig-!?"

Freddy shouldn't even see the fog in his own world. It's awful. The Nightmare is supposed to be where Freddy is king, but I feel like it's a prison in DBD. Every single survivor is a mighty mighty dream warrior Q..QThat's actually depressingly accurate as in the movies Freddy has weird moments in "his own world", to the point of mind-boggling.
For example, Freddy makes the rules in the dream world - but for some reason those rules include "you can run up the stairs and throw something down at me and it will hit me and make me tumble back down on my ass".
You can also kick him in the groin and it will paralyze him for a few moments and make him drop whatever he's doing (as seen in Wes Craven's New Nightmare).Like CinemaSins mentioned on "Everything Wrong With A Nightmare on Elm Street" - "dream garbage can slow Freddy down in a world where he creates the rules".

Remember when killers couldn't kick gens, or 30 second sprint burst, or NOED was just a perk, or STBL + Unrelenting was super powerful? Just a thread to see how many of us remember when things were different!GO!
I've been playing since Dec 2016, back in patch 1.3.1c.
I remember Sabo Jakes.
I remember this fresh new Killer called the Hag.
I remember the words "Machine Gun".
I remember when you could almost never pick Survivors out of traps with the Trapper, and had to hit them.
I remember traps under hooked Survivors. -
Before I go into the particulars of BBQ&Chilli and why it's not only a fine Perk, but a desired one, I'd like to teach you something.
These days, people like to throw words around like "overpowered", you hear it applied almost all the time and especially in discussions concerning Killers in Dead by Daylight.
_"Nurse can go through stuff using her power - she's OVERPOWERED"
"Freddy can see you while you're asleep anywhere on the map - that's OVERPOWERED." _That word gets misused, so often by new players with little understanding of the game, and by those who should know better.
In gaming, an Overpowered thing is something that gives one side an overwhelming advantage without the possibility of counterplay from the other side.
An actually overpowered ability for a Killer would be something like a power with a map-wide radius that allows the Killer to instantly freeze all Survivors in place, bringing them down to the Dying state all at once without the ability to use Perks like Unbreakable or No Mither.BBQ&Chilli, on the other hand, has multiple counterplays to it.
First, it merely reveals the auras of Survivors who are beyond a certain range from the hooked Survivor and it has blindspots (if you're crouching behind a generator your aura gets "swallowed" by the generator's aura, hiding you from the Killer's gaze).
Second, the range where the auras are hidden is actually a pretty large one (it's bigger than the whole Badham Preschool's main structure and surrounding area, for example). In other words, as long as you get just a little closer to the general area where the Killer is hooking the Survivor, your aura won't be revealed.
And thirdly, the ability to see your aura from across the map for a few seconds does not equal "instant capture". Only one Killer has the ability to instantly go from one side of the map to the other (which is the Hag, and only if she uses a certain rare addon that allows her to teleport to any trap at will - and only when she has a trap to teleport to), two others (Hillbilly and Nurse) have the potential to arrive in your area quickly, however you still have a chance to hide or juke them.
Notice that the Killer has to move away from the hook in order to chase another Survivor - emphasis on the "chase" part, since simply knowing where you are does not mean much in this game, unless you're a newbie who wandered into an unsafe area.
In fact, BBQ&Chilli does more good for Survivors than it hurts them - it gives them a chance to bait the Killer away from the hook, waste his time by making them think they have a chance of finding the Survivor when the Survivor can juke the Killer simply by moving in one direction for a few seconds and then once the few seconds when BBQ&Chilli shows their auras elapse, they sneak in the other direction and hide or simply slink away while the Killer goes to search an empty area.
BBQ&Chilli is also beneficial to Survivors since it incentivizes Killers to move away from a hook, giving Survivors the chance to earn Benevolent points while the Killer chases a new Survivor and the hooked person doesn't simply get tunnelled/camped to death.
New Survivors like yourself, Sephirothpheonix, simply need to learn the game and get used to the Perk. If you want to stay hidden, pay attention to what's happening around you - if the Killer downs someone, start running towards them, then sneak when you get closer. When the Killer hooks them, you'll remain hidden.
That is all there is to it. -

Which map do you guys like the best?Any Coldwind Farm map. I like the visuals and the coloring of those maps.
I like the design (color and visuals, that is, not pallet placement and obstacle bonanza) of most maps, but Coldwind Farm just looks _right _to me. I can't explain why, exactly, but that's what I'm seeing in my head when I think "DBD".
