But then I have to play the game with ungodly annoying audio-visual spam firing off once a second. It's loud noise notifications on steroids.

No worse than when a couple idiots decide jumping in and out of lockers is going to distract you during a chase. Have that happen a lot more frequently than Box noise spam.

I don't really pay any attention to it, but if I can herd my current plaything over towards the sound notifications I will. That way I can get a down, and be in position to possibly get the box as well. It also let's me know that I'm probably facing a coordinated SWF so that means do everything I can and don't hold back. Doesn't end well normally, but sometimes I get that sweet satisfaction of multiple DCs. Cause coordinated SWFs never make mistakes, so it must be me cheating or something.

  • Might be a display bug. You actually got the Pip, but it displayed it incorrectly.

Used to happen to me quite frequently before MMR, when I'd earn/lose a pip, and end game screen would show the incorrect Rank on the listing. Haven't had it happen since MMR went in, but I pay 0 attention to my grade anymore. All I care about are the BP.

  • Run some off Meta Perks with odd functions and see how many times you get called a Cheater/Hacker because you didn't run NOED, Ruin, Undying. It's no wonder BHVR can't police the players if they're dealing with stupid people reporting a player without looking at Perks, Add-ons and the Killer's Power.

Report system needs a full overhaul though. I've never played an online game that required third-party websites for video evidence. A simple drag and drop would be really nice, and make it so much more palatable to actually report someone. I don't anymore since the last two people I did, obvious speed hackers (although the one was funny AF since gens got done in 3 seconds with old ruin explosions included), got 0 views on my video I wasted time uploading to YT then linking on the report form. There's just no point in reporting since nothing gets done about it anyways.

I've yet to face an obvious hacker since I came back, possibly someone with a subtle speed hack, but some of that is due to latency as well on our lovely servers. I don't think it's that big of an issue though for regular players, but streamers will for sure be targetted since the hacker gets a chance to show off the product. The bigger the name, the better the publicity for them.

  • Played PH last night for a Daily. Fractured Cowshed. Chased a Jake for a bit, he looped around a hay bale and I went for the snipe. Managed to hit the Mikaela that was hiding behind the same hay bale too with that shot and downed them both. Nice to be on the other side of blown plays like this once in a while.

  • When they took away Bloodpoints for Rank, was the happiest moment of my life. Was tired of getting facestomped by everyone at Rank 1 when I had been barely playing a few weeks, and getting told "You got 25k BP! That's great!" with maybe 6 hooks. ffs talk about a circus.

  • BBQ was supposed to be the anti-camping Perk since it mimic'd WGLF's Bloodpoints, but also gave Killers an aura read for performing a hook. It worked out pretty well too in the beginning from what I can remember. Camping became less of a common strat, and more of an outlier.

Of course this was all in Billy's and the Nurse's prime. When a skilled Billy player could hook someone across the map, rev and zoom, and navigate the entire length of it to drop you with a saw to the face almost before BBQ's read wore off. Hehe. Good times, good times.

  • DS is in a good spot right now. It helps prevent tunnels because Killer's are mostly afraid of it, but in reality, it isn't as bad as it's made out to be. The nerf, which was pretty necessary, removed a lot of the invulnerability aspect of it, and made it pretty fair overall.

It's really in a more niche spot now after the various tweaks to it. It'll give you some immunity right after a hook, but really, even if you land it how much time does it give you? Killers can just go after the unhooker, you can Make Your Choice y'know. It's really only 100% useful in the end game when it can mean the difference between a death and an escape. I see way too many people DS a Killer and get knocked down almost immediately. The distance it affords you is negligible except at extremely high MMR where 1/2 seconds count.

I honestly would rather have a team with DS instead of a team with DH or BT (if I could make a choice). DS really feels quite well balanced, shockingly enough.

  • Lot of places relaxed Plague restrictions so many people are back to work/school and don't have as much time to play. Not saying some of the recent decisions haven't hurt player counts, but cross-platform support was their greatest addition to the game cause it gave everyone a much larger player base to verse and more varied opponents/team mates.

I've seen the same comment so many times before. Back when there were 20k players max, and a sudden drop to 15k brought out the doomsayers. Until there is some form of actual competition, it won't happen. Considering the difficult nature of balancing an asymmetric game such as this, I doubt there will be much competition anytime soon either. How many have failed so far?

  • I love the Swamp on both sides. Even when it was the large size prior to the rework(s), it has always been my favorite Realm.

Love the new wiggle mechanic. Feels more interactive and achieveable even though it's the same timer.

I like playing against Nurses. I get a real feelsgoodman vibe when I can juke them, and I feel good for the players who master the Nurse and utterly wipe me across the map. Win/win.

I miss Billy. He was the only Killer that could give me the chills when I heard that chainsaw revving at the start of a match. Now, he's a pale shadow of his former self, and no one ever runs him.

Some killers keep a hand written list of the worst bullies they come across so it doesnt happen again. Ive dodged a few that way. Im on xbox too. Good luck

I have my list sitting nearby. I don't dodge them though, unless they were part of a coordinated bully squad. I just ignore them the whole match. It's quite refreshing.

I only dodge if I see more than 1 TTV or Twitcher shirt. From prior experience, 2+ streamers = toxic. If it's just 1, I'll just play my normal game. If it's Streamers I recognize though, and have enjoyed games versus in the past, I'll stick in there. I do keep a rough mental idea of who plays reasonably decent, and the ones who are just out for trolling. The ones who are really fun to play against I write down on a separate list though.

  • How do people find nice Demogorgons? Every one I play against proxy camps with portals then tunnels me off the hook...

I have to agree about Claudettes. I do enjoy those games though because that means more unhooks, heals, and chase time for me. I tend to outscore them, and at least safety pip while they blend. Either that or they're complete n00bz who are only playing her to unlock self-care, which they do frequently while I'm on a hook right next to them.

  • Sounds like you're unlucky. I usually only see AFK Killers during BP Events, where they can just auto-swing their weapon/special attack and earn BP while they AFK. Anytime it's an Event where you need to actively participate for the bonus(es), they disappear entirely.

I thought my sarcasm was going to bleed through but I guess it didn't. Hard to tell in this polarizing environment but I was just throwing what the other person said back in there face because it was a dumb comment. I don't actually believe all killers are sweat lords looking for 4ks.

A lot maybe, but not all

We need a sarcasm button. The dumb comments I just ignore. As soon as someone says Killer/Survivor Main, their entire argument is moot. They're just parroting something they saw before, or heard from their favorite Streamer. Unless you've watched me play all my matches, you can't tell if I'm either/or. Especially as I have significantly more Survivor shinies than Killer shinies, and more webs on my Survivors as well. Being a "main" is not an argument for or against anything. It's just whatever playstyle you prefer.

    Yeah, it's also the perks.

As a killer, I'm constantly having to juggle things, make decisions, take risks etc. My entire playstyle can change with the perks and addons I bring.

As a survivor it's either: Do gens - Hold W - Loop - Do Gens - Rescue someone. All my perks play the same for the most part, and are generally 'see things, do things faster, run faster'.

Killer is a tooth grindingly frustrating role at times, but I find it so much more stimulating.

I enjoy Killer a lot more, but lately I've been playing a good 70% Survivor because as soon as that frustration starts rising, I know I need to take a break. So I get 5-6 matches in, last one being a toxic shitshow, and then jump over to Survivor for the rest of the night so I can chill and not deal with it. I enjoy both sides, so it's not really a big issue for me, I just enjoy Killer more because the interaction is so much more appealing.

Killers are so desperate to get a 4k like it's a DBD tournament every match

I don't really see either of these statements as true, at least at the ranks I play at. I think it's more along the lines of people knowing that specific alignments of things are abuseable, and they want to either troll or flex their e-peen.

I really don't find much issue with Boil Over as it is, or even RPD, although I hate that map on both sides even more than I hated Hawkins. It's when you combine them on purpose that it becomes an issue. If it was random map chance you go to RPD, fine, it's how the game works. The issue(s) arise when people purposefully burn an Offering and load up on specific Perks, because this is just them trying to troll and abuse certain mechanics.

It's not necessarily trying for the 4k or 4e, it's just purposefully abusing specific mechanic(s) combinations to ruin the game for the other party.

  • @Jukenobi said:

Damn, I almost thought a killer main made a positive post for once without complaining. I was wrong.

Not really a complaint, just venting while I waited out my DC penalty.

It really was a fun night tonight. Couple 4ks, some 3ks, and the usual 0-1ks I get. Nice mix of vets vs new players/inexperienced. The past few nights it's been stomp newbs, immediately into high MMR coordinated SWFs. So it was a nice change to get some relaxing play.

  • No more Sky Billy. My heart was broken. There was nothing more entertaining than working on a gen, hearing no TR, then suddenly getting splattered by a Billy falling from the Heavens. Only happened a couple times to me, but those matches were absolutely fantastic.

Feel bad for Freddy, but he's not even the real Freddy so he can kick rocks for all I care. They wouldn't have done it to a proper Freddy.

  • They nerfed the opening pan and scan. :(

    Very upsetting.

  • I enjoy playing against him. If he's a good one, you have to be really focused on what he's doing. If he's new/weaker, you can do a lot of fun stuff against him.

First couple hooks though, you just have to pay attention and see what he's doing. If he's camping, slam those gens out and bail. If he actually comes off the hook and goes looking, then it's just like every other match. You just have to be more cautious with Bubba because of the memes.

  • You can have a lot of fun playing as Killer, until MMR stops you from doing so. If you're playing around your rough MMR, they will be good games where you can enjoy yourself. As soon as an SWF has to wait for "too long", or a Killer dodges a lobby because "reasons", MMR will grab you and throw you in with a group of toxic, sweaty SWF + comms who will ruin your game. They won't do gens, because they're facing a weaker Killer than normal, and it'll be a game of blinds, stuns, and using every Perk and mechanic they can to make your life a living hell.

So yeah. You can have some great games as a Killer, I do frequently, then MMR rears its ugly head and bends you over with some sandpaper for good measure.

  • You need more stats to be considered in the MMR up/down. Things like safe unhooks, heals, chase time, escapes, gens done, and other things that affect your team. Being a "good" all around contributor should count for more than stealthing around and escaping because the other three members of your "team" did everything. Stealth should count though for a portion. Things like staying in the TR without being in a chase.

Killers... kills pretty much sums it up. Although you could say chase time (short as possible), actual hooks and not just hook states, time for generator completion, anything else that would be "Killer did their job". Kills though feels pretty good. 2k2e should be 0, no change. Anything above/below that up/down. Although 2k2e + 4 hooks... have a good argument that maybe they should go up a bit.

  • Bond, Aftercare if you want aura reads.

We'll Make It works nicely for me. That heal speed is excellent, especially if you hook heal.

WGLF for BP is always nice. Right now, since slugging is a bit more prominent, the dying state heal speed helps as well.

  • I like the fact they don't activate very often. It keeps them fresh and interesting.

I love Ash, Evil Dead being one of my all time favorite series of movies, but hearing him shitting in the tall grass every damn lobby made me want to strangle him.

  • NA East. Queue times for Survivor are 1-2 minutes, during the week they tend to be a bit shorter than on the weekends though. Killer are pretty must instant. Maybe 5 seconds? At any time of the day for either.

  • I love the Swamp maps. Always have, even when they were huge. The atmosphere is fantastic. I even love the reeds. Can't count how many times they've saved me because Killers will lose you in them if they aren't paying attention. Not to mention the laughs when I see that Claudette crouched in between them and give them a good slap.

Too much fun! Also home of the Hag, who is the most beautiful creature in the game.

Well, right now it just doesn't work, as the devs have confirmed. So right now your matches are gonna be a little bit out of whack, especially at certain times.

Also, grade doesn't have anything to do with rank? I'm not sure if you were just using that as shorthand for people who play about the same and the same amount as your opponents before, but it's worth mentioning in case that's a point of contention.

Oh nah. I know grade means nothing but how much time you've played. Especially since you can't rank down at all. Just lose pips back to same grade 0 pips.

I just feel that if you are going to say the game itself is team based, you need to rank people based on their team effort. That includes everything, comparable to the Emblem system (something I think just needed tuned better to make it harder for Survivors to rank up). Escaping doesn't necessarily mean you contributed to the team.

If they are going to rank, actual rank not grade, people based on escapes only, they need to make the game itself, at its base, solo oriented. It becomes the 1v1v1v1v1 that it was originally intended. This doesn't work of course, in my eyes at least, since the game has evolved fully into a 1v4 team based game. Perks, mechanics, and all other things are team oriented for Survivors. The only exception being the hatch.

I honestly think the Emblem system could have worked, if they had tuned it better and developed it more. I know how easy it was to rank up as a Survivor, I generally had to meme for a number matches to drop back to where I was comfortable playing. It just seems more fitting to have a ranking system based on your total team effort, and not just a single point/no point if you escape.

  • @jesterkind said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2781838#Comment_2781838

Well, does that happen every game? Even if it does, it sounds like this is how you prefer to play and you've already accepted that dying is a part of it, so you'll sort of hover around a certain level of MMR where you're not going up against potatoes but you're also not elevated up too far, either. It's certainly an outlier situation that should be considered, it's a valid point to raise, but I don't think it truly breaks the MMR when by your own admission you're choosing to take a loss because presumably that's a more fun way of playing for you.

It loops back around to the common misunderstanding that MMR is some kind of reward- there's nothing waiting for you at a higher number, just harder games that you might find less fun. But again, I do agree that if the system still needs work, using emblem score or something equivalent as a weight metric to see how far up/down someone goes would be the best option- you just still have to win, which should be your goal anyway.

Regarding your point about the person who does nothing the entire match but skulk around, I'd point you back towards my answer to the facecamping killer- that player should be elevated to the point where their cheese strat stops working. Above a certain threshold of skill, that player is the weak link a killer will leverage into a win, and they'll have to learn how to actually loop to stay alive.

Bit of a problem with this though. I die/lose about 60-70% of my matches, yet I don't drop in MMR. I'm still facing Killers of roughly the same skill level, with Survivor team mates of roughly the same skill. There are those few outlier games where I get completely stomped, or completely walk over the Killer. The majority of my matches are with opponents of roughly the same level of play I have.

With the current MMR system, and how I play (my win conditions aren't the same of course), I should be in the bottom ranks of players. Getting matched with new players and those who play more casual like myself. I'm not though. I'm facing, and playing with, people of the same skill level as I did under the old system (high purples -> low reds). I'm not a top tier player obviously, but my matches feel comparable to how they were before. I get a few more outliers, to either end, but overall it's still the same level of play.

  • @jesterkind said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2781776#Comment_2781776

So, two things: The first is that, if it turns out after the matchmaking portion is fixed that the system still needs work, I would agree that getting a high emblem score (including individual hook actions!) should result in you going up further for a win, but I would still contend that looking at wins is still the thing that should happen. You shouldn't go up in MMR after losing, that'd be completely counterintuitive, so when looking at large batches of matches it's simply most convenient and pretty accurate to look at a simple win/loss ratio.

That might be moot, though- I have no reason to disbelieve the explanation we've been given, so it seems to me like the problems come from the matching portion, not the MMR calculation portion.

Second: The person who gets two kills by camping first of all doesn't actually go up, that's breaking even. But if they did go up, they should go up, because they're getting kills and should be going up against survivors who can handle what they're bringing a little better. It's not a reward, it's putting them against opponents who are capable of handling them.

The survivor who runs the killer for five gens and then dies isn't doing that every match- either it's a fluke against a bad/struggling killer that they can't replicate en masse, or it's a tactic they try often and therefore should be judged on their success rate overall. It's not about one game, it's about how consistently you win or lose.

This might work, but how about the events where you play altruistically and help your team enormously, then die at the end. You may have contributed the most for the other 3 players' "win", but you lose in the end because you died. This, by the way, is normally how i play. I'll do gens, unhook/heal, try to help my team out as much as possible, but at the end of it, I'll gladly hook swap and take the death if it means getting someone else out of the game alive.

That other person might not have done a thing the entire match but skulk around the map, but they get the "win" and I take the "loss", even though I did more for the victory. This is why I don't think a single "win" condition should be in effect. The entirety of the match should be considered with regard to MMR. Heck, the other person might have done just as much as I did, and they should get extra points with regard to their MMR because they did escape, but I don't think I should be penalized with a straight up "loss" when I helped as much as possible.

  • House of 1000 Corpses/Devil's Rejects were pretty decent, nothing special though. We have The Clown already, so Spaulding would probably not work, especially if they ever get the license for IT (Tim Curry IT damnit, love Tim Curry). The rest of them were a bit too human though in my eyes. Just some psycho humans with social issues. DbD leans more towards the supernatural/mutant/abomination style killers. They might have started out as normal humans, but they became something "more" as they aged and entered the Entity's Realm.

  • They need to revert them back to when Hexed Totems were visually the same as dull Totems. Remove that fire please to make them more viable. That would at least slow gens a bit since Survivors would be forced to do all of them potentially to remove that pesky Ruin. Besides, my Hex(es) are a personal thing between me and the Entity. No one needs to know about it... really.

Although it is amusing to get bumped off a Totem as it lights up when a Killer is running Plaything and hooks someone. And those fantastic NOED plays where the last gen gets popped, and the totem you have at 75% cleansed lights up, only to be popped a couple seconds later. The Killer DC'ing seconds later makes it worth it.

  • If you're playing Killer, good luck. MMR is thrown out completely if a Killer leaves a Lobby, or if an SWF group has been waiting for "too long". It just grabs the first available Killer with complete disregard to their actual MMR and puts them in there. I'm seeing this more and more often, especially on Killers who I know have low MMR because I play them only for dailies and almost always end up with a 4 escape.

Not sure about Survivor. I've been getting some superb matches lately, lot of fun ones even when we do all die. Very rare am I finding myself completely outmatched or stomping a newer Killer. I've been playing a lot more Survivor though, so my MMR might be stabilized for the most part, and not rubberbanding all over as I stomp a group of new players, then get put right into 2-3 matches against SWF groups at the higher levels.

I hope you are not seriously trying to argue that a bit of nudity is equivalent to people voting for and donating large sums of money to politicians that try and actively fight to destroy human rights for minority groups. “I think these people don’t deserve any human rights” which is what the politicians he supported are literally fighting for is not an acceptable opinion. There is nothing wrong with nudity inherently. It is a natural part of existence. Obviously, kids should not be able to look at pornography.

That is not comparable in the slightest to “I will support someone that fights for removing human rights from others.”

Actually, yes. Isn't Objectification and Discrimination based on gender a thing anymore? Or has that already been tossed into the ashpile of forgotten narratives?

As I said though, just because someone supports one group or another is no reason for something to be excluded from DbD. If that were the case, should we be including anything from countries that have a history of human rights abuses and other such behavior?

Politics don't belong in video games. At all. Leave that to the TwitTwat crowd and their baying for someone's soul because they said they liked Harry Potter. Everyone is entitled to their own views and opinions. Freedom works both ways.

  • I love Solo Queue. Would not play the game any other way.

Last night I had some fantastic team mates, and I even managed to up my game a bit and make some good plays. Made some bad ones too, but that's par for the course for my playing.

I find the games where I'm the only "active" person to be a lot of fun though. Get lots of unhooks, and power through some gens, maybe "convince" one of my team mates to follow me around and help me out. It can be trying at times, but having to do better because no one else is doing a damn thing is pretty exhilarating at times. I come out with a healthy chunk of BP, almost always a safety with an occasional pip on my grade, and the joy of knowing I did a decent job.

fwiw, I find using Aftercare to help a bunch because your team mates, especially ones who are also solo or newer, will tend to either assist you with things or purposely come find you to help you when they can see you from across the map. Gotten a lot of good use from it for heals and slamming gens over the past week. Also works nicely when you go in to draw a Killer off, since they can see you and know where to run/pull the Killer so you can take the pressure from them.

Yes, congratulations. You are in a society where you have the privilege to not care about the attempts to destroy human rights for minority groups because you are part of the majority.

This part actually amuses me, although I 100% support it. But, looking at it from other angles, how much "discrimination support" does DbD already have in it?

Slasher flicks, which DbD initially emulated, were solely based on having some form of killer, human or other, chasing a bunch of teenagers/college kids around trying to kill them for a specific reason. All of the earlier Slasher films used nudity as a form of advertisement, more specifically female nudity. You almost never saw a nude male in any of them, but you could easily see most of the female cast nude at one point or another, generally engaging in sexual acts in a position to best show off their body.

Friday the 13th the story is based around college kids having sex while Jason dies in a pond, Nightmare on Elm Street (the real version) has that fantastic scene where the girl is dragged up the walls onto the ceiling while Freddy shreds her, Hellraiser could be considered softcore porn simply for its basis, the beauty/pleasure of pain, even the more niche titles like Puppetmaster or Phantasm had their share of nudity and what some people like to call objectification.

Look at all the "Scream Queens" from the prime era of Slasher flicks, the 70s - 90s. They would get top billing, and the movie posters would make damn sure to exaggerate or focus on them in some way to make them more appealing, and sexualized, to draw that male audience. Hell, for the older people on the Forums, you might remember Joe Bob Briggs Drive-In where he rated horror flicks, and other films, based on the 3 B's: Bodies, Beasts, and Breasts. This was all incorporated into every Slasher film because sex sells, no matter what anyone wants you to think.

Discrimination should be actively fought against, but it shouldn't be the sole reason for the exclusion of a franchise into DbD. People are allowed to have opinions that others don't share. If everyone was the same, this world would be boring AF. It's when people can't look past something, and get completely focused on it to the exclusion of everything else, that discrimination really happens.

  • Loved the atmosphere and elements in the map, hated the thing to play on. So I'm glad it's gone, but hope we get more unique looking ones in its place.

  • Because Springtrap's possessed doll has been done better by other franchises. Child's Play is the first that springs to mind, but the Puppetmaster series also would work better in some form within DbD. Both of those franchises are solid Slasher Horror style, whereas FNAF is purely cheap jumpscares at about the scariness level of Goosebumps or similar.

I do like the idea of possessed animatronics, those things at Chuck E Cheese were pretty creepy when I was around 8 or 9, but once you hit your teens, they become a joke and something you make up scary stories about at summer camp. The idea(s) and lore behind them are pretty solid for a horror franchise, but in action, they miss the mark by a long shot. The games are a boredom simulator of clicking a couple buttons and waiting for something to happen. No action, no real horror value, and not much going for them but a rabid fanbase.

There are too many other horror franchises still out there that tick all the boxes that in DbD right now. Slasher style horror, decent amount of gore/violence, and a good backstory that can be incorporated into the Entity's Realm. I'd even vote yes for Leprechaun to be included in DbD before FNAF.

I would love to see some sci-fi elements mixed in though. There's a large amount of sci-fi styled franchises with horror themes that could be included. Alien, Bioshock, Predator, Dead Space to name a few. Dead Space especially as the Necromorphs fit excellently into DbD both thematically (reanimated dead), visually (those things can be pretty disturbing looking), and there are a wide variety of "powers" you could glean from them. FNAF...put 6 lockers in a circle and the Survivors can open each one in turn until Springtrap jumps out at them providing about .5 second of scare. Might be better than M1 simulator, but not by much.

  • His thiccness rivaled that of Rin's when she had the camera "bug" going on. I really wish they would bring it back, if only to show her what a properly thicc piece of meat looks like.

  • We got my dream chapter when Hellraiser came to DbD.

Next up though would be Phantasm. The Tall Man as a Killer would be epic, especially if they did a swarm of the balls as his mori, just shredding the Survivor to pieces.

Not sure what to use as a map, but they did a lot of funeral home/mortuary type locations in the films, so would definitely be thematically appropriate. Be a good atmosphere too, nice and dark corridors and rooms with bodies laying half out of caskets. Fun times!

Chucky would be good, but I think his height would be problematic. Hag FOV is already rough on people who aren't used to her. Trying to use a doll with that FOV would be rough.

Would like to see something animalistic or non-human though. Dead Space, some form of werewolf/beast-man, something out of the Cthulu mythos, or any other mythology/lore we don't have in DbD yet. South American Indian (Maya, Aztec, etc) based or something out of the Middle East's culture would be cool. Love to see variety in the backgrounds and lore of the Killers.

  • Killers have always been mad about Boil Over. I messed around with it a year or two back just to see what kind of use I could get out of it. I had to stop because every single match I ran it, I got either camped or slugged and left to bleed. That extra jerk from side to side would piss so many Killers off, it was unreal. This was in high purple/low reds under the old system.

It wasn't a very good Perk, but causing them to work to get me to the hook apparently made them a bit angry. I ended up taking it out of my builds because the amount of camping/slugging was ridiculous. Amazingly enough, soon as I stopped using it playstyles changed completely and the camping/slugging was a rare thing once more.

  • I just hope they make it dark, or at least dusky. The Cornfield rework(s) suck. If they were darker, not necessarily night time but that dusk feel, it would've been so much better. As it is, they are boring AF to play on.

First off for while yes it can be seen as that but as of now there's no excuse for making it survivor sided as they did if it was balanced and tuned you wouldn't have constant matches boiled down to "meta perks VS blight" or "meta perks VS nurse " u and also there wouldn't be as many perks that can be used to bully killers due to making them way to forgiving for survivors ######### up along with the qol changes they made only buffing survivors more.

As for the US vs them mentality guess what it's never going away thanks to the devs making a game where it is "all play the same vs all play differently" so unlike if a fighting game tweaked a character or if a team game tweaked something its not everyone gets hit only one side does and the other reaps the benefits no matter what anyone says.

I can agree with a lot of this, but one of the things that makes the current balance patch so horrendous is the ability for voice comms to allow instant coordination between Survivors. WIthout that, the Boil Over buff and lack of a meaningful CoH nerf wouldn't be as bad. It would just need tuned a bit more. The problem being, you can't balance it. I play Solo Queue, and the game is a bit Killer sided for the most part from that perspective. If I could talk with my team mates, it would definitely become Survivor sided though.

The whole Us vs Them thing is something I never did understand. I play games for fun though, I'm not competitive other than wanting that rush when I get a down, hook, save, whatever. Little bit of adrenaline, little bit of feelsgoodman. Both sides are guilty of it though, and it is kind of ridiculous in a sense. There's no tangible reward other than knowing you won. Winning though is personal, and it's different from player to player.

Everyone is going to play different, have different rules for themselves, and have different win conditions. Learning to actually respect that instead of venting frustrations and rage over something that is better off being discussed with a cool head is something a lot of people need to do.

  • I waited 4 years for them to implement my favorite horror franchise, so Pinhead it is.

Hag though... my love for her will never die. My first main, and one of my favorites to play.

I hate dying at first hook because they are cowards uhgggg, that's what I mostly get

Yeah. I've had my fair share of that. Just have to do what you can do, and play BP hound if that's all that's left open for you. Do everything you can to scrounge up BP, and just walk away from the match with what you can. Hate that it ends up like that, but sometimes it's all you can do because it's a 1v3v1 game for whatever reason.

  • I don't. End up with a lot of fun matches. It's more along the lines of what your MMR is, rather than what they're playing on. You might be getting matched in with a lot of newer players as well. Check their Perks at the end of each match. I've had quite a few this past week where I was the only one with a Purple Perk out of the bunch, and it did show in how the game progressed. Remember that newer players will learn from their experiences, so try to help them out as much as possible and show them things.

SWF is something to take into consideration as well. Most I play with are nice and help me out, as long as i am helping them of course. Make the saves, try to make some good plays, and you'll get rewarded in turn. There are some I've played with though that wouldn't even unhook me after the Killer left to chase someone else. Selfish buggers with no sense of teamwork other than their little group of buddies. Just have to get what BP you can, and enjoy the match to your best ability while you watch them sucking on a gen as you progress through all 3 hook states.

  • The game itself is much better balanced than it was back in 2017. At its base at least. Some Perks are OP, some are utter trash, and some are more for meme or "I need to try something different" style of builds. Overall though, with a couple exceptions, they've done a decent job of tuning Perks and keeping the game healthy.

The only glaring issue I see right now is voice comms. BHVR should implement an in-game voice chat, tied to distance between Survivors, so that everyone enjoys the same benefits that voice comms currently give. THEN they can properly balance the game. Until that happens, it is completely pointless to attempt to balance the game.

This whole Survivor vs Killer bias garbage is just beating your head against the wall. Pointless rage and frustration that only makes the community more toxic as a whole. Take a step back, relax for a minute or two, then play some more. Or else, find something else to play. I find 2-3 months of playing DbD about as much as I can take, and then I'll play other things for a while. Much, much healthier than raging out about something that cannot change until portions of the base game are adjusted.

Stupid statement? show off superiority is what you said. And that is exactly OP's point in some way. It is the intention of harrassing, for whatever reason. The equivalence of what you tell the killer by doing this is actually censored in post game chat, just as a side notification

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2776998#Comment_2776998

So you need an explicit depiction like a nude survivor model to actually regard it as harassment? Isn't it the unintended abuse that should be looked at? I mean, why exactly have the bubba masks been removed? Can we repeat that?

Bubba's mask were a kneejerk reaction, and purely a virtue signal. Removing them has done nothing but punish the majority of the people who obtained them and didn't use them in a harrassing fashion. It did nothing to stop any form of harrassment. The only way to do that is to ban people so they can't harrass anymore.

Crouching is not teabagging. Doing it in a quick motion is also not teabagging. If you can't communicate with someone, you utilize whatever method is available. It is simply another person saying "Haha. I won." Gloating is not harrassment. It's a bit unsportsmanlike, but it is not harrassment. It's not even abuse. Being able to quickly crouch is part of gameplay needed to hide from a Killer.

Just because you want to apply specific buzzwords to a narrative does not mean they fit the situation.

  • That extra 25k makes it all the sweeter at the end. Just have to escape with it. Although, like the Lament Configuration you can't keep it. Kinda sucks. I'd love to have a little showcase of unusable items that I managed to escape with. Always nice to have something to add to the hoard.

  • Killers can't be teabagged. They never lie prone on the ground, or are in a position for the genitalia of a Survivor to be in close proximity to their face.

Survivors can, but only in specific circumstances. Either if they're on the ground bleeding out, even then their face is pointed horizontal rather than the vertical required for an actual teabagging, or if they are being mori'd, but only certain moris allow it.

I can't believe i actually had to type that out, but humans gonna human. If it bothers you that much that Survivors butt dance at you, you probably shouldn't be playing online, competitive, multiplayer games.

I use a couple quick crouches to tell my team mates thank you, or good play, frequently. Doesn't mean I'm teabagging them, it's part of the communication within the Entity's Realm. Much the same as pointing, or the come here gesture. It's used for communication between parties that have no other method of communication available.

  • It might not necessarily have been the 3rd Token. Special attacks do not proc the Exposed status, and unless it was changed, they won't show you it either. You can use this to your benefit when running Killers like Huntress or Nemesis who have the ability to injure and down with their special attacks.

I've run it on Huntress a few times and didn't go in for the axe until I had 5 tokens and could immediately Mori a Survivor. It is pretty amusing, but can generate some salt post-game.

  • I like the Charms. They add a little something to each character. They're the same as any other cosmetic, just less time/energy investment to create them. Especially the themed ones that are unique to the different icons. I always run RE charms on Nemesis, Jill, and Leon for example.

Ultimately, every single cosmetic is a waste of time/energy. They simply exist to keep people invested in the game by looking how you want, and to make a little extra money during the empty spaces between chapters.
