You can get P100 well under 1k hours. Players that dump all their points into one character doesn't make them good. This reminds me too much about P3 as if someone who has P3 is somehow good.

All the "Chucky will never be in DbD" people are not feasting right now.
Don't think it was "never be" so much as "it won't work very well." Given his size and perks that remove red stains, a lot of survivor complaints incoming.
-
For future reference, at the end of the match you can hover over the killer's perks and addons and read what they do.
-
Bans are permanent. If you are on Steam, it will keep track of the time on your profile page.
-
You're not allowed to play well with any killer.

It's far better than it used to be and they won't make it to the point of it being inconsequential. There will always be a grind because that's what keeps player playing.
The argument of vet vs new get less relevant with each chapter. Yes, vets have more than new players. But it will take less time and effort for those new players to catch up. If we had the old system it would take thousands of hours with every chapter pilling on. The new system to get all survivor perks is around 117 million. Less if you don't care about all survivors having all perks. The old system you need that just to P3 everyone and that gives you nearly no perks to play with.
Yes, it's quite the grind for someone just starting. But they are looking at a small mountain while others had to climb Everest.

Its situationally stronger in the hands of skilled players and is hella good at anti-tunnel. For example, imagine a build like:
OTR + DS + MFT + DH.
You get hooked, you get OTR, killer tunnels you, you now have MFT. You run the killer around, get downed before DS runs out, get picked up, and DS the killer, this resets deep wound. You now run the killer, just before they hit you, you dead hard, get a speed boost, now you have MFT. Then run the killer and finally get downed. Basically, when used as anti-tunnel it can be very good.
Now, is this going to happen often? No, probably not. Does this mean overall its a better perk? No of course not, it is much more situational now, and probably requires it be paired with another endurance perk (probably dead hard in most cases). But in the situations where it does work now, it is stronger than before. But you'll get to use it less often, if that makes sense. So yes, the perk will be "nerfed" and weaker than before, but it has the potential to be stronger than before in some situations.
Is its usage going to down? Absolutely, most survivors favor perks that aren't situational and are "just there" this is why you see so many perks like Sprint burst, windows, kindred etc. because the perks just work without any real input from you making it easier. But this doesn't mean those perks are the best. Deliverance i'd argue is the best perk in the game when used with a team of survivors that can communicate and coordinate together.
Or, now hear me out, today have MFT after being unhooked, because injured not because of DW. Run the killer until DS is about to give out. Let the killer down you, DS, run the killer some more with MFT, because injured. When the killer gets close enough for the hit, DH.
Oh, but now that your exhaused you don't have MFT. Is that why you think the new version is stronger? Did you ignore all the other times when it's active without using some perk combo just to place yourself in DW? Did you forget one tactic of forcing DS is to jump in a locker? How can you do that while in DW? A tunneling killer may wait out the DS timer and what about after the second hook? You won't have DS to reset DW for you one two combo.
Thinking MFT is going to be stronger after the change is like saying DS is stronger than before.

Take this as a learning experience.

another fun fact, crows disable headon.

Game as a Service model don't follow the sequel pattern of traditional games. They continue to update the game for years until the fanbase diminishes. Then in a desperate grasp at one last money grab they might have a "2" quickly put together.
-
You could play killer and go around the node or not. Nobody is forcing you to complete an optional feature.
-
Clearly it's another nerf to Deathslinger.

That used to be the case but people do it constantly now. Even when the killer is nowhere near them.
Still is the case even though some don't follow it.

I too don't understand all the lobby dodging talk or the value some people put into prestige levels. Because someone dumps all their points into one character doesn't make them a god.
If bhvr decides to remove lobby prestige, we will just go back to players wanting items hidden or names hidden or whatever else has been blamed for dodging over these many years.

Going to be disappointed next 13th.

You can't react to a Blight bouncing against the same wall a couple times to think, hey he might be trying to do something? Or do you think a Blight sliding on the wall is hug tech?

not that much distance.
but lets try math, after 7 secs im clear of the first window so 23 secs left.
Hes speed with MFT would be 4.12 m/s
My speed would be 4.6 m/s
4.6 - 4.12 = 0.48
0.48 x 27 = 12.96m
So i should have gained almost 13m on that loop, but i dont even see him around the corner, even if we cut it in half to 6.5m because of the other window vault, i should at least be able to see him.
He was most defo. cheating
That window at that loop takes a lot of time to catch up. You're pathing isn't that tight either, tbh. Going off just that clip, it's legit.
-
Some gas on the fire.
https://youtu.be/SLlm8rtvbswShroompy's pathing is better than the Ace and the killer is further back. (clear by looking at the blood pool to the killer's position yet the killer in Shroompy's was close to getting that hit.🤔)
OP did swing early but I don't think that alone discounts the claim. The OP's Ace started the fast vault much sooner than Shroompy despite being nearly the same position. Could be lag being the survivor had over 100ms ping but could also be subtle cheatery.
-
If that were me with MFT and the same pathing, I'd be dead.
-
People just need to accept this is not an issue that can be solved without fundamental changes to the game.
Only way to stop camping is to make it so camping is not with in the killers control. For example, survivors get sent into a void when down and come out after a set time. No slugging, no hooks. As you can see this would change the game drastically. Killers won't waste time moving survivors to hooks and survivor won't waste time going for saves. Breaking a lot of the current gameplay loop.

I know lots of people who start playing and ask me where they can get half the outfits I have, ready to buy them right then and there.
I tell them that they're not in the store and come around during certain holidays, and others are rift exclusives. Well, they would have spent their money, but they end up stop playing (not over the cosmetics, over bordem) and never spent their money, whereas they would have.
So, BHVR should exploit new players into buying cosmetics before they get too bored. 😀

FOMO until it comes back next year.

How do the killer pick numbers compare?

Make it easier to dodge teammates with crap builds.

If you played Wesker, would you tunnel?

Maybe not spawn with but able to carry would be nice.

Greetings ghosts and ghouls! We’re back with another Developer Update, this time covering all the adjustments on the way following our last Public Test Build (PTB). We unveiled some major changes during this PTB, including the new Anti Face-Camping mechanic and an overhaul to The Skull Merchant’s Power. You’ve left us with…

It doesn't matter if you give solo survivors all the information in the world. They will still do stupid stuff. I've recently got caught by a insidious Bubba who camped me in the basement. I hung there on the hook flapping my arms, warning my teammate hey the killer is camping me. Those dumb survivors ran to the basement after a full minute of me waving my arms and all died.
How can bhvr fix that level of stupid?

It does indicate a trend in the wrong direction. If you want to use another metric then you could use twitch viewership which has declined from 25k average viewers in 2022 to 18k in 2023. It's clearly not just Steam where this decline in interest is happening. I don't think pointing this out rises to the level of complaining. I am concerned about the health of the game more than anything else. Some people will frequently point out that the game is old as a reason. Personally I find this to be a BS excuse since plenty of older games are still showing growth. Losing this much of your player base likely means something about the current direction of the game isn't connecting with a lot of players.
Consider the game is in constant flux and when times are good when many are playing, we don't have people saying the game is going strong bhvr must be doing something right. It's only when we have drop off is when doom is on the horizon. Even at its peak the forums are full of complaints and those saying they quit forever.

News is they won't change anything.

We complaining about Spirit again? Has it really been a year already? Time sure flies.

Killers don't seem happy with the game either if this forum is any indication.
Killers aren't happy. Survivors aren't happy. It's been that way for 7 years. Any resemblance of happiness disappears in a few days on the forums.
-
So it's the same level as three years ago? Clearly something happen to grow that number over these three years for you to complain now. Maybe the game is stable around 30k players? Maybe the numbers don't reflect the real playerbase. It is on other platforms. I take it you are looking at all of those too?
-
I'll just disagree with clickbait. The guy is just pushing out content that they know will cause debate around it.
-
So his only saving grace is camping the basement. 😐

The 129 hour survivor escaped every match until they met you.
It doesn't matter how high your MMR rating is, the game has a cap in terms of match making. You can be 25,000 and they 19,000. You're the same to the match making algorithm.
Also, 129 hours is only for that account. They could swapped platforms and really have 300 hours.
But does that matter?
Some people take to games better than others not to mention there are different roles. I have 4600hrs in DBD and play mostly killer. Does that 4600hrs make me a God tier survivor? Hell no. There are survivors with 300hrs better than me. Thanks for not making match making based on hours or Devotion as some will advocate for.
In the end, they could of been in a SWF with someone with a high MMR.
-
If all perks were weak and the community choose the least weak perks to use. There will be someone on the forum to complain about it.

It can always get worse

Female survivors. Even though the movement is the same, male survivors look like they're running slower than the female. It's like playing between shadowborn and not. And I like my shadowborn.
-
Sounds like you weren't around prior to this prestige system or being selectively forgetful. There were plenty of players who didn't want to prestige their characters because to them it wasn't worth it. Even today, I bet the majority of players don't level most of their characters past P1. But there were those that wanted ever bloody cosmetic and grind every character to P3.
Why must there be a reward? Why is it special to dump all your points into one character? What about those that want to level all characters to P6 or P9? Do they get anything special? It take just as many bp to do that. Why reward some but not others for the same amount of points spent?
The Devs reasoning is that they don't want players to invest 100s of millions a character and have that requirement increase every 3 months. There are players that want to unlock everything and you'll be alienating them. Today they go to P9. A very high threshold that doesn't end until the game dies. Now you want them to grind 10x more just to unlock a bs cosmetic. Why? Because a red 100 badge isn't enough for you.

Y'know what you're right, using an entire perk slot for something that happens once every 200 games is definitely worth it.
Now if you excuse me I'm going to go run Unrelenting, just in case I whiff a basic attack as Nurse
I see more flashlights than M1 Nurses.

I don't know why people take up a perk slot for light born,
once a survivor notices you have it they will just sit on gens instead of following you around all game to get saves.. in my opinion running it is detrimental
And when i play survivor Its fun to use the light born against themselves with my favorite baby: Object of obsession
That's why you hide it as long as you can.
