  • It's kinda foggy, but the memories that come to mind are:

    First time playing Killer - I was lagging so much and I decided to play as the Nurse because she looked cool. The lag and not knowing how to blink really...made me suffer that match. I managed to land a hit on someone as they were leaving. They said in the chat "Let me guess first time playing the game?" xD

    I don't think it was my actual first match as Survivor, but it's the one I remember most back when I first started playing. This Nurse actually gave me hatch as I was the last person. I was so flustered by their kindness that I didn't say anything in the chat. I'll always regret not thanking them.

  • I also would like this to be a funny moments thread too :3

    I had some pretty normal matches today. I won some and lost others.

    One that stuck out most to me was a match against a Leatherface who didn't camp and tunnel. I always hear people say all Leatherface players camp. He hooked me and he came back when I got unhooked and I expected him to go after me, but he didn't. He could have easily gotten rid of me early on and he didn't do that. He played good too - he got a 3k. I went to tell him gg and thank him for not camping and tunneling me but he was on console. I don't get salty if I do get camped and tunneled, but I find it nice for Killers to let me stay in the match a little longer. I'm always needing the points xD;

    I also had a match with a Wraith who told me "gg wp all" so I told them "And gg to you too :3"

    I also also had a match where the Killer did tunnel me to death, but this Nea tried so hard to protect me and I was going to tell her thank you, but she was also on console Dx

    I also also also was trying to unhook this Ace who was my buddy all match but my stupid keyboard does this thing where my W and S keys stop working so I was a couple seconds too late to unhook him and he died. Was going to apologize but he too...was on console xD;

  • I tend to use certain map offerings because most of the redone maps don't run too good on my PC. So if I get one for a map that my PC handles better, I'll use it. I also just use them for the maps I like. The majority of the time I just get the same maps over and over and over.

    If I had a good PC, though? I probably would use them less than I do now.

  • My overall goals when playing Survivor are to have fun, be useful to my team, and save my teammates - even if it means I die and they escape. Those are my wins. Escaping is a goal too but it's not as important as the other ones.

    As Killer, I mostly play to get challenges and daily rituals done so the progress on those is usually what I consider wins. I also play Pig to get boops. Boops are my win.

  • I only got to play two matches today, but my first match had a semi-nice Pyramid Head. I say semi-nice because he did kill three of us - but he let the last teammate have hatch. Two teammates died and I thought he was going to kill me, but he let me wiggle free and do a gen with my last teammate. He also let us heal each other for some points. He kept leaving trails around us and eventually was doing it in a circle. He then downed both of us and mori'd me and let the other have hatch. It was funny because I was playing as Kate and she just looked like she got smashed into a Kate pancake and the way my teammate just slipped into the hatch was funny. They said thank you and I said gg and we laughed at how Survivors just fall into the hatch now when they're on the ground, but the Pyramid Head was on console so they didn't get to see it.

  • I've not played as Nemesis, but being punched in the face or the back of the head is hilarious to me. I actually had a Nemesis down me and my teammate ran up to heal me and the second I stood up, Nemesis punched me in the face and I did a flip.

    I agree that a nifty sound effect would be nice.

  • I got the skin, but I thought it was just my extremely low graphics making her look weird xD;

  • I was so excited to play today and hoped I'd have good matches. I'm not the best at the game, but I enjoy playing. I was not disappointed - I had some good matches.

    I was playing one match as Claire and everyone played good. I only play solo, but we all worked as a team and the person playing Nemesis was good too. He ended up letting me have hatch and they told me gg and I said gg and thanked them.

    I decided to play as Leon and I ended up doing poorly and someone DC'd so it was just three of us trying to survive. I got hooked twice and Nemesis came after me again right after I got unhooked, but he just followed me while I was running - he wasn't trying to hit me. I stopped and turned around and pointed at him and said "What do you want, Sir? -point point-" He turned to look behind him then back at me. I said "Yeah, you - what do you want? -point point-" He eventually downed me and hooked me and I died. My teammates died too. I was debating on reading the chat, but decided the Nemesis and I shared a funny moment so I opened chat. The person playing Nemesis said gg and I said gg, but my teammate said bg because the DC. I ended up wishing them both good luck in their future matches.

  • I don't have any saved xD;

    I find it really hard not to spend the points. Hopefully I'll be able to earn some more from the challenges I'm doing without too much trouble.

  • I haven't played in close to a month, but I decided to play for a bit today because I'm really excited for the new chapter coming out.

    Most of it was the same as usual, but I had a nice Michael for my last match. He didn't kill me and my last teammate when he really could have. I was really grateful because I needed the points. He took me to his Ruin totem and let me destroy it and he let us heal and finish the gens. When the last gen got done, I ran to a hook and pointed at it. I wanted him to hook me since he was nice, but he said no. I was going to go out the exit, but I ended up going to the hatch and he let me leave. I was going to say gg and thank him, but the game said the connection was lost and so I didn't get to see their username or even thank them.

  • I'm not sure it could be considered very wholesome, but I had a match earlier against a Ghostface. It took a little longer than usual to load everyone into the map and I thought someone DC'd. Well, it finally loaded into Lery's and I found a gen and started working on it. A Laurie ran over, followed by a Ghostface. I watched them run around for a bit while I was working on the gen. I decided to hide in the corner and watch them because I didn't know if he was stalking or not. Well, he came around the desk and trapped me in the corner. I couldn't get out and he was just crouching and nodding at me so I crouched and nodded back. He let me go and I walked away. He followed me a little bit and I waved at him to keep following me. I found another gen and started working on it while he watched. He was nodding and spinning in a circle while crouched and it was pretty funny. I stopped working on the gen and pointed at it, trying to see if he wanted to kick it for some points. He just nodded at me, so I think he thought I was asking if I could finish the gen. I did finish the gen and he continued to follow me. All the gens got done and I thought I would try to help him maybe find the gnome. Didn't know if he found one or not, I was just trying to be nice. I couldn't find it and time was ticking down and I was lagging so I ran to the exit. He followed me to the exit and I gave him my medkit and left.

    In the chat, they told me that they were lagging a lot and even ran into walls several times. I told them that I experience lag A LOT in the game and told them gg. It wasn't over the top or anything, but it was fun having Ghostface follow me around. I always said he reminds me of a cat and so I had a kitty Ghostface following me around that match.

    It's also good to know that I'm not the only person who experiences horrible lag. My PC barely runs the game so I get lag, freezing, and DC'd pretty often. I play solo and I know people get lag too but it makes me wonder if I'm just worse off than most xD;

  • I don't play Killer often and I don't usually play very seriously, but I typically use Monitor and Abuse and Rancor. Those are usually two of my main perks I like using. I also like using Haunted Ground just to put a little startle into Survivors. Like..."Surprise!" only it's...not a good one... xD

    There's nothing unchill about a game where both sides are competitively trying to accomplish their respective goals, either.

    You literally said that you only have fun if you were helpful to your team. This also means that you don't have fun if you get outplayed. And I'd say this is where lies the problem for a lot of Survivor players.

    DBD is a "competitive game". That is to say, either YOU win or THEY win. Both sides compete for the win. If you don't have fun when you don't do well and lose (which is different from doing well and losing), then you should actually not be playing games where two or more opposing teams are competing for the sole right to call themselves the winner.

    I don't say this as a bash, but I say this as someone who has witnessed COUNTLESS people just "going with the flow" and playing various games that they really shouldn't be playing, completely based on the fact that they don't like losing. They should be playing games where you CANNOT lose. And plenty of great games exist like that.

    You literally described yourself as someone who clams up when a digital avatar approaches your digital avatar in a video game. You entirely fit the bill of what I'm describing. You are not a competitive person, including casually competitive. I imagine you only play DBD with your friends, right? PROBABLY even only if it's a full group of 4? And so, I now imagine... ... well... go ahead and tell me. How often do your friends complain about camping/tunneling/etc? Would you say more than 50% of the games?

    Yes.

    So...

    Yeah.

    I see it allllll the time. And I do not understand how it happens. (Possibly just a person's desire to be a part of a group?)

    I play solo - I don't have any friends to play with. I join matches with SWFs and matches where everyone is solo. I play matches with people who are good and people who are bad. I play this game to have fun and that means trying my best and staying humble and not raining down insults on others. It doesn't matter to me if I lose constantly as long as I have fun and didn't ruin someone else's fun. You can have fun and win and you can have fun and lose.

  • I play the game to have fun and it saddens me that so many people have to ruin it for others. This is the only game I ever play with others because it's fun and doesn't freak me out like other games do. Even when I play MMOs, if someone runs up to me - I run away or log off for a while. I've been camped and tunneled a lot, but I always hope for better in the next match. Not worth my time getting angry and arguing with someone.

    Killers are to kill and Survivors are to survive so when done the non toxic way, there's really no hard feelings for me. If my teammates were good and the Killer was good and I was able to be of use - it's a gg from me. Even if I die.

    I also have no issues farming BPs with people. Yeah, it's not the goal of the game, but it's nice to have a match here and there where everyone is just chill and helping each other.

  • I had a match earlier where someone died and someone DC'd and it was just me and a possibly Baby Dweet left. We had started the match near each other and he followed me for a bit and ended up rescuing me once or twice. I rescued him and he hid in a locker and I decided that I'd get the Killer's attention and let myself die and hopefully let him escape. Well, I did die and I went into spectate mode and I saw him downed on top of the hatch. The Killer was letting him leave, but he didn't leave. In fact, he struggled free and looped the Killer for a bit before DCing.

    I have noticed quite a few Killers being nice and being insulted and treated badly for it, so I told the Killer gg and it was nice of them to try and let him have hatch. They said they think he didn't understand and told me to have good games and I said "Same to you :3"

    Just a small, but pleasant after match conversation.

  • I never DC on purpose - my PC and internet suck so I end up getting booted out of matches. Sometimes I'm having fun and just BAM! It really irks me.

  • I was worried about it at first, but I don't think it's as bad as I was expecting. I still use it in every match I can.

    I was more upset about the change to Small Game to be honest. I play on a PC that barely runs the game and so my settings are so low that I can't always tell what things are sometimes. It helped me with seeing and avoiding traps and helped me find totems. I can understand why it was changed, so I'm not too upset about it. I will miss laughing at the part that says "Only works on Killer Traps that were set by the Killer."

  • I find it hard to just play as one or just a few Survivors so I usually alternate between all of them. One day will be Meg Day and one day will be Claudette Day and so on. Not allowed to switch and all the points I earn go on that one character.

    I don't play Killer that often and when I do, it's usually just for challenges so it depends on the challenges. I do play as The Pig a lot just because I want boops.

  • I just say "gg :3" which I didn't know could be taken as "get good :3" xD;

    I'm not very good at talking to people so I try to say as little as possible. Every so often, someone will say something and I'll respond with more words.

  • The highest rank I've ever been is rank 12 and I've had the most fun matches around that rank. The Killers are good and my teammates are good and I do really good at that rank. I still die sometimes, but I do way better. I don't play enough to keep that rank or get a higher rank so when rank is reset, I'm booted back down to rank 16 or 17. I have the hardest time getting back to rank 12 too. Most of the matches aren't good and when I do eventually reach rank 12, it resets and boots me back down to rank 17 or 16 and the horrible process begins again xD

    I don't care all that much about saying "Hey, everyone look - I'm rank 12!" I just really want to have fun and rank 12 is the most fun for me. I wish I could just stay at that rank and it not have to be reset and make me start over.

  • Like a lot of people said - all of them.

    However, I always found the Doctor is one of the creepiest looking ones in the game. I remember when he first came out, his appearance really creeped me out. Soooo depending on looks irl I'd say the Doctor xD

  • I had a match earlier where I decided to play as Meg because I got a new outfit for her. I joined a match with two Claudettes and I don't remember who the other person was, but they changed into Meg too so there were two Claudettes and two Megs.

    Match started and I found a gen to work on, but the Huntress chased the Claudettes near me, so I tried to leave the area when I ran into the other Meg. She followed me around the map and I don't know why. I don't know if she was trying to see if I was doing actual work or if she was new to the game and was lost or scared or if she was just playing with me. Anyways, she followed me for a while until I ran up to help one of the Claudettes finish a gen. The Claudette waved at us to follow and we did, but I saw a totem so I stopped to do it. I try to do at least two or three totems a match and this was my second one that match. Well, the Meg stayed with me and she got in and out of a locker so I thought maybe she had Inner Strength and I let her destroy the totem. While she was destroying it, I started to go find the Claudette and she stopped destroying it and started following me again. I told her to go destroy the totem and I stayed next to her while she finished destroying it. We made our way near the killer shack and she decided to go into the basement to loot a chest so I followed her. While she was opening the chest, I crouched next to her and was like "Ooooh what're you gonna get!?" She got a flashlight and I was like "Coolies!" but she hesitated before taking it and I said "You can have it xD" so she took it. We ended up getting separated because the Huntress downed her and one of the Claudettes. I managed to help the Claudette up, but the Meg got hooked. I tried to take the Huntress far away so the Meg could be saved and they could heal. Well, the other Claudette finished the last gen and when the Huntress finally hit me, I went down immediately due to NOED. As she was picking me up, I was like "Please go save the other Meg - don't worry about me!" I got hooked and I guess one of them had a key so one Claudette and the Meg left and the other Claudette was opening the gate. I killed myself so the Claudette wouldn't try to save me.

    All in all, it was a really fun match eventhough I died. I'm a big sister irl and it reminded me so much of being a big sister, having the Meg follow me around xD

  • I'm a Survivor main, but I like playing as The Pig just for the boops so there's no toxicity from me.

    The ones I've come across vary - they're not all campy and tunnely. I remember when I was still semi-new a Pig gave me hatch and I've never forgotten her.

    I think there's just Killers that tunnel and camp and there's ones that don't. I don't think I could generalize one Killer over the others. I am sorry if that does happen to you a lot - I know it's not fun.

  • I'm sorry people have been like that to you, but I mean...don't let them know they got to you. It makes them happy knowing they upset you so ignoring their comments would be the best thing to do in this situation :\

    I'm a very humble person and always have been so I never try to insult anyone or act like I'm better than I am while playing this game. I'm a Survivor main, but I decided to play a few Killer matches out of the blue last night. I played maybe ten matches and only one of them had toxic SWFs. I used to play Killer a lot and I came across a lot of toxic Survivors, but they weren't the majority. Just gotta hope for better matches.

  • I decided to play some Killer rounds last night because despite me being a Survivor main, I pretty much only get Killer Daily Rituals and I really needed the points. I decided to play as Michael my last match and I had a Survivor that was AFK all match. I try not to down and hook AFK Survivors because I feel bad - I don't know if they had to go do something or not and it's unfair. Since the crows make noise, I was going to go down him and hook him because the crows got on my nerves and I knew his teammates would save him. When I got over there, he was running so I walked up to him and was like "Look who decided to join us! What're those? You got some friends up there. -looks at crows-" And then he pointed at me and I was like "Did you...just boop Michael Myers?" I reached tier III and downed him and then I decided to pick him up. I was like "You were brave enough to boop Michael Myers, so I'll let you live." I don't know what he was doing, but since I play as The Pig just for the boops, I chose to take it as he booped me.

    I also played a match as the Demogorgon and I found one of the Survivors shortly after the match started. They decided to DC because I found them early in the match and so I decided to let the rest of the Survivors do gens and leave. Well, I noticed the Claudette in the basement so I walked over to her and smacked her. She waved at me so I downed her but I didn't hook her in the basement. I found the Meg and chased her for a bit and hooked her. I eventually found the Yui and was chasing her and she threw down a pallet and I started breaking it at the same time she tried to reset it. I was like "Oh, I'm sorry!" so I chased her and she threw down another pallet and tried to reset it and I nodded at her saying "Go ahead!" I ended up hooking her because I wanted to hook them all once and they must have found found a key because they opened the hatch and left. I made my way back over to the hatch and the Claudette waited for me to get there before she left. I nodded at her as she left xD

  • I had a match the other day against The Pig. She had downed and trapped a teammate. I followed him to a Jigsaw box and waited for him to get the trap off and then I healed him. I went to work on a gen and I saw The Pig chasing him, so I ran up to block him. She slashed me once and I was like "I've never really booped a Pig...I wonder if she'll like it..." so I booped her. She paused for a second then nodded at me and left me alone. My other teammates kept getting downed and hooked and one kept trying to flashlight her. I stood between the guy trying to blind her and her and I was like "Stop trying to blind her, she just wants boops!" So she downed the guy, hooked him, and he tried to kill himself on the hook but I unhooked him. The Pig came back and I told the guy "Watch! -boops- You boop her NOW u8<" He cautiously approached her and booped her. Then my other teammate came over and booped her too. She ended up letting us all escape and she thanked me in the chat. I play as The Pig just for the boops, so I told them "I too like boops to my snoot :3" As I said, I've never actually booped The Pig. They usually just seem to want to kill me and that's it xD

    Then I had a match with a Ghostface who teabagged us. He did hook all of us at least twice, but he also let us rescue and heal if we teabagged with him. The Nea and I figured out what he was trying to do, but the other two teammates didn't and just gave up. He let us go because we teabagged with him. Pretty funny xD

  • I'm sorry you get toxic responses for playing any Killer. I don't view any Killer in any particular way because I've went up against a lot of Killers who play differently. I remember my sister deciding to play as Leatherface and the Survivors were toxic to her just because she chose to play as Leatherface because everyone who plays him just camps. Which is not true. There are a lot of people who camp as him, but not every person who plays him camps. They assumed she'd be toxic so they were toxic to her. Which is a terrible thing to do.

    I've noticed people assume a lot in this game. Killers, Survivors, cosmetics, items - people make assumptions off of them. People can say "Well, I've played this game for a long time so I can just tell immediately!" but they're not always right. If someone wears cosmetics, it's because they like them - it doesn't dictate whether someone is toxic or not. If someone plays a certain Killer - doesn't dictate whether they're toxic or not. If someone plays a certain Survivor - doesn't dictate whether they're toxic or not. If someone, like me, brings in a toolbox - it doesn't dictate that gens will be done ASAP (I use terrible items because I hoard better ones I'll never use xD)

    I'd say just play who you want and have as much fun as you can and keep chat closed. I've started keeping my chat closed lately because sometimes people insult me, despite me having fun playing with them and saying gg. I mostly have console players who can't see chat so not much talking goes on.

  • I play solo and I often see people rescue the person who was just hooked with the Killer still there and I just...don't understand.

    I remember this one time, I got hooked and went into struggle because a teammate looked like they came to save me, but was just running the Killer around me. He got hit and then started teabagging the Killer next to me. The Killer looked at me, then at him, then at me and I said "Yeah, I have no idea what he's doing either..." Eventually I did get saved and the Killer downed me again, but he let me get healed and play some more before finishing me off later. I thought that was pretty nice.

  • As people said, it's not holding the game hostage, but I wanted to say that some of my funnest matches were when we my team 3 gen'd. That might sound weird and sounds tedious and boring, but it was intense and was just...fun. It involved us randoms working together to escape and it was different than usual. A Killer is supposed to keep Survivors from doing gens, so patrolling the gens is part of the game. I'm sorry you had to deal with those people.

  • I...actually like that idea - the weather types. I don't know anything about game development or how hard it would be to add, but it's an interesting idea. I'm always up for snow in games because I live somewhere where it's rare xD

  • One person was playing as The Twins and I was helping someone do a gen and they walked up to us and I ran away. They followed me, but didn't try to hit me. I eventually stopped, turned around and walked up to them and said "Friends???" and they hit a pallet, saying "Throw this pallet down!" so I did. I proceeded to follow them around the map all match, throwing pallets down for them. Eventually the gens got done and people opened the gates. They unleashed Victor and he ran to the exit gate and attacked someone. I stood around and was like "Charlotte? Are you taking a nap? Are you going to come back?" When they switched back to Charlotte I tried to give them my medkit, but they walked off and I said "You get back here and take this medkit - your chest looks like it hurts! -chases-" I was going to stay with them until I died, but they walked to the exit and wanted me to leave. I put my medkit down for them and they shook their head no so I took it and they hit me out of the exit. I know people say The Twins aren't great and no one really plays as them, but I love them to death. And I enjoyed being able to follow them around the map and help them with whatever they were trying to do xD

    I then had a match on Ormond. I love that map but it's hard for me to see skill checks because of all the snow. Every time I found a gen I could work on, it was already done. Eventually the gens got done and two people left. The Jane and I looked for the Killer who was Ghostface, but Jane left eventually. I ran around the map, looking for him because he didn't down or hook anyone all match and I was going to let him kill me. I found him teabagging at the other exit. I ran up to him and teabagged with him, then he teabagged away from me. I said "You get back here and you hook me! -teabags after-" I literally chased him across the map, teabagging. Eventually time ran out and I died teabagging with him.

    Then I had a match with people who seemed better at the game than me, but I was able to keep up. The Killer was The Trapper and he seemed pretty good too. Everyone escaped and I was afraid to open the chat because I thought people would be snarky, but everyone said gg. So that might not seem extra wholesome, but it was nice to have a good match with people who were happy with it - even the Killer.

  • I'm sorry that happened to you. My PC barely handles the game and sometimes the game will freeze and boot me out. I get punished for DCing, even though I'd never DC on purpose. No matter how bad the match is, I don't DC. It screws people over and I don't like people thinking I ragequit or I'm petty. I don't know if there's a way to configure it to recognize accidental from intentional DCing, but it'd be nice xD

  • I had a nice Trapper earlier. Not far into the match, someone DC'd and another died on hook so it was only two of us left. I was hooked and contemplating killing myself because I didn't want my teammate to risk the save since it was just him and I left. He came over and the Trapper was there and he let my teammate unhook me. I was like "Awww are you a friendly Trapper?" I followed after him and he let me hit him with a pallet and he took me to some totems and let me destroy them and I stepped in a trap he put down. My teammate ended up opening the gate and leaving which I found kind of rude because the Killer was being nice and I was going to farm some points with them. Since my teammate left, I was like "You know what? Follow me, Trapper!" and I took him to a hook and I twirled around in a circle, saying "Hook me!" He downed me and took me to the hatch. In the chat afterwards, I thanked them and they said they don't like it when people DC and are AFK when they play Survivor and that's why they let us do gens and leave.

    I've seen Killers posting lately, saying they get insulted by Survivors when they let them escape and that's just...so stupid. If the Killer is nice and lets you leave, you say thank you. Letting you live is the exact opposite of what they're supposed to do so don't be ungrateful >8u

  • I play solo all the time and I've seen people rushing in to save each other right in front of the Killer and get downed and hooked and...I don't know why? I will assume they have Borrowed Time, but sometimes they don't. They just unhook in front of the Killer and end up down and hooked again. I remember one time in particular where the match started and three people were downed near the killer shack. They just kept trying to unhook each other without healing or leaving the area. I was doing a gen and looked up and all three were down on the ground and I was the only one fully healed. I ran over to heal them because I felt I had to and the Killer was right there. Turned out that the Killer was nice and let us all heal and do gens and leave but that's not always the case.

    I also had a match where this Meg kept unhooking me in front of the Killer and of course the Killer only went after me and hooked me again and the same Meg unhooked me again and the Killer went after me and downed me again. I was in the match like a whole 30 seconds - didn't get to do anything but be on the hook and die. And while I don't care about my rank, I noticed mine will go down due to the actions of others and I don't think that's fair. I don't care if I stay at Rank 20 forever, but I don't think it's right for people to get screwed over by teammates and lose their rank xD

    Not sure about in game voice chat though...There's a lot of toxic people and I'm like...socially awkward and wouldn't use the chat to begin with 8u;

  • I've had a few Killers DC lately and it honestly makes me feel bad. I've been told I shouldn't care, but I do... I play this game to have fun and that means I like others to have fun with me and I don't try to make people DC and I don't find it funny in the slightest...

  • I had a match last week where we pretty much got slaughtered instantly by a Michael. I ended up being the last person and I got downed and picked up. I was struggling and he slashed and I said "Don't you slash me, Mr. Man--" and he dropped me on the hatch. I was like "Oh....Thank you! -spins in a circle then escapes-" I went to tell them thank you, but they were on console so they didn't see it.

    I was playing a match yesterday and didn't see the Killer until there was two gens left. I saw a few teammates get injured, but none of them got hooked. I came across a gen that had been worked on, so I decided to try and finish it. Then a Michael walked up to me and I ran away. He followed me for a couple seconds, but I didn't know where he went. I was like "Is he friendly? I know he stabbed a couple people but..." so I went back to the gen to see if he was still over there and the last gen got done and I was right by the gate, so I decided to open it. Two teammates came over and I said "You didn't bring him (Michael) with you, did you?" and I saw him walking up to us so I ran away again. Then the gate got opened, so I said "Wait...is he friendly!?" so I circled back and walked up behind him and he was just standing there watching my teammates leave. I walked in front of him and said "Michael, do you want to be friends?" He slashed at the exit, telling me to leave. I said "No! I want to be your friend! -points at him-" and he looked behind him, into a corner then walked further into the exit and slashed. I said "Oh...okay..." and left. I was willing to let him kill me, but he didn't want to.

    I also had a Legion let me live. I don't think he hooked anyone all match, so I was going to let him kill me for some points. He kept nodding at me to leave, but I walked over to him thinking he'd down me and hook me. He ended up spinning in a circle, so I did it too for a bit then I gave him my toolbox and left.

    This is happening more and more frequently to me - Killers not wanting to kill me when they easily could...I'm assuming they're just doing daily rituals. I mean, I do the same thing xD;

    Last week, I had a match against a Nurse and I don't think they knew how to play as her. She slashed a couple people and maybe hooked one. The gens got done and I ran to open a gate and the Nurse downed someone right by it. I walked up and tried to see what was happening and I saw someone with a flashlight and the Nurse just....staring into a wall. She just gave up...We healed the downed teammate and all three of us walked over to the Nurse and waved at her to attack us, but she never budged...Everyone left and I stayed by her and died so she'd get a few more points. It was...so sad. I felt so bad for her. I don't like making Killers give up and DC - it makes me feel bad that I ruined their fun, even if it was unintentionally.

  • I've had a lot of Killers give me hatch and let me open the gates and leave. It actually happened earlier - this nice Wraith let me open the gate and leave. I thought for sure he was going to hook me and even if he did, it was still a fun match.

    I always say thank you and it makes me sad when I go to say thank you and they're on console and can't see my comment...I just hope they know that I am thankful. I never know what to do to say thanks in game...I usually spin in a circle a few times because I worry if I crouch a few times, they'll think I'm teabagging them xD;

    Like people have said - you just can't please everyone. I've lived with someone who if you gave them a million dollars, they'd complain you didn't give them a dollar more. I think nice Killers are amazing and I for one am always happy to be given hatch or allowed to open the gate and am eternally grateful :3

  • The Thompson House. I have tried so hard to find it only to die because I could hear it but not see it. I also have the killer chasing me at that point so it's even harder to find. I've had it happen maybe three or four times and it sounds like I'm right by it but I can't see it xD;

    I've had Killers try to give me hatch only for us to be looking for a long time because we can't find it. I find it so nice when Killers do this. I feel like a huge inconvenience to them at that point xD;

  • I love playing as The Twins, The Spirit, The Pig, and The Plague.

    I don't often play Killer, but I find those the funnest to play. Especially when I just want to goof around.

    The Twins - I love their design and story and being able to switch between them is fun.

    The Spirit - I'm a huge J-horror fanatic so I love her design and backstory and ability to phase.

    The Pig - I just really only play for the boops. I'm a sad Piggy when no one boops.

    The Plague - I love her design and backstory and just like puking on people and things xD

  • I've only had a few matches where people just left. Sometimes it's people that didn't even do much during the match. I always try to get the gate to 99% and make sure my teammates are safe before I open the gate. I always try to do a rescue unless the Killer forces me out. Even if the Killer has NOED, while I get downed and hooked - I want people to go rescue the other person. I don't care if I die. And if I can't save the person, then we'll die together xD

    Usually when there is a NOED, everyone looks for the totem before attempting a save. I remember a teammate of mine in one match getting downed and hooked because the Killer had NOED. The other two teammates left because I believe they were forced out. I was trying to decide if I wanted to attempt a rescue or not. I'm not good at looping and juking. I decided to look for the totem quickly and I found it and cleansed it. The Killer was staying close to the hook, but I managed to rescue my teammate and we both got out. To my surprise, my teammate thanked me in the chat. It made me so happy xD;

    I've also left by accident. I haven't figured out exactly where the actual exit part is. I'll try to get as close as possible but end up leaving instead.

    If I do get hooked and there's NOED or the Killer is camping - I just want people to leave. It's not worth risking their lives to save me. If the Killer is camping, I often try to stay hooked as long as possible so people can finish gens and open the gates. The Killer ain't leaving me, so they're safe to do things. But in doing that, people will try to rescue me. I end up yelling at the screen "No no no no! Stay away! It's not worth it! uB"

  • There's different reasons why I don't do gens.

    I've worked with teammates to finish gens only for us to be screwed by NOED because no one cleansed a single totem. I try hard to find and cleanse at least 2 totems each match. Sometimes gens get finished quickly and I couldn't help.

    If it's The Doctor or the Killer has Huntress Lullaby. I have slow reflexes and I can't hit the skill checks if they're messed up. I've gotten pretty good at normal skill checks but if they differ from the norm - yeesh. That just means exploding a gen over and over and over. So I try to do them and mess them up. I feel it's better to go find something else to do.

    My PC barely handles the game. The reworked maps are lovely but they make my PC stutter and freeze. So constant missed skill checks again. If I'm alone, it's not so bad but I definitely can't work on one with someone else.

    I feel bad not always doing gens, but it's not because I'm selfish or a coward - it's because I don't want to screw my teammates over by messing things up. I will focus on other things like cleansing totems or destroying hooks or trying to save a teammate.

  • I really don't mind these items being put in the shop so people who missed them or newer players can have chance to get them if they like them. I've missed quite a few that I really liked and I like that I have a chance to get them now. And I've payed for the pass and put a lot of time into getting all the items. I really don't mind if much later, they get put in the shop. I like that other people have a chance to get them, even if they don't have to work for them. It's just not an issue to me.

  • I use Self-Care all the time and constantly hear people say it's a bad perk and not to use it and I must suck at the game. I play solo and often never have a teammate try to heal me and when I need a medkit, all I can find are toolboxes and flashlights. If I take a medkit in, I end up using it on a teammate because I'm way too considerate to others. It saves me like 95% of the time.

  • I'm pretty numb when it comes to scary things so I don't know anything that would make the game scarier. The thing that puts me on edge most is missing a skill check when doing a gen with others in fear of being shamed 8,u

    A game that did put me on edge a lot was the Fatal Frame series. But it was because sometimes ghosts just popped up out of nowhere. In my face. There's a few Killers that can do that but I'm learning how to look around so I tend to see them most of the time before they get too close to me. However, I've been pulled off gens and totems and that always made me jump xD

    Maybe more scares on maps? Like Midwich has that body flop out of a locker. I know that's a jump scare and I don't care for them when overdone, but it could add a little creepiness. Better to make it random, though. Not just like when you walk past it - it gets predictable.

  • I don't think it's overpowered. I see people who can look around while still hitting skill checks - they can see the Killer approaching even if there's no alerts. I've been seeing Tinkerer a lot lately and while it's hard for me to look around while doing gens because I can't see the skill checks as good - I can still hear. I hear the noises the Killers make. I've only had one issue with Tinkerer where the Killer did surprise me, but it was when I was healing someone and I wasn't thinking about the Killer just popping up xD;

  • I've gotten insulted a few times, but nothing near what other people have gotten and I feel lucky. I got to where I'd say "gg :3" if I feel like the match went well, even if I died - especially if the Killer did a good job and even when they let me or the last person have hatch or open the exit.

    I've been keeping chat closed lately, though. I mostly get people on console and every so often someone on PC. I've checked it a few times the past month just to see gg's and thank yous and the like which makes me happy.

    I've had Killers be jerks and I've had Survivors be jerks. I tend to not say anything negative and just move on.

  • I had a match the other day where a Leatherface just wanted to farm points. I can't say I've ever had this happen the way it did before. I saw a teammate get downed, but I couldn't see the Killer. I waited for a bit and she wasn't being picked up or healed, but the Killer was still close to her. I finally decided to go check it out and it was a Leatherface just standing there and a Dwight just blinding him. I walked up to them and Leatherface let us heal the downed teammate. So we just all took turns being downed and healed for a while. Then he decided to hook us twice each. It was funny because it was like "Me! Me! Me! I'm next! 8D -raises hand-" When the last gen was finished, everyone else was escaping, but I waved at him to follow me and I pointed at a hook. I let him kill me because he was nice and I don't mind dying to a nice Killer.

    Later on I had a Ghostface do similar. A teammate got downed and she wasn't being picked up, but the Killer was near. He eventually let her struggled out and he started teabagging her. I ran up to do it too but he went away... I then healed the teammate and we were doing a gen and he came back and I teabagged him and he did it back. I ended up letting him kill me too because he was nice.

    They were both on console and I couldn't say thanks 8,u

  • People make a lot of assumptions in this game xD

  • I've always played solo and it's okay for me. I understand that I'm not the best at the game so it's no surprise if I die. Since I go into every match thinking "I'm going to die." it's not a shock to me when it happens. What is shocking is escaping and having teammates try their hardest to make sure I escape. I've joined lobbies with SWFs and I expected them to ditch me or even yell at me, but they didn't. They tried to help me because we were a team.

    That doesn't mean I haven't been screwed over by teammates. I've been downed and hooked and died because they were too busy saving each other and doing gens. I'll be hooked and the Killer will be a million miles away and they just let me die without trying to save me.

    I've also screwed over my teammates without meaning to and it makes me feel terrible. Like the other day, I ran down to the basement to save someone and I tried to take the hits for them and get hooked in their place, but I ended up getting them hooked back in the basement. We all escaped, but I still felt bad. I also slow vaulted when I meant to fast vault and I trapped my teammates in a room with the Killer. And one time I thought the Killer was behind me so I threw a pallet down and trapped a teammate with the Killer. I can't look behind me like a lot of people can. I have the reflexes of a burnt piece of toast.

    And I've been killed because of teammates. One that sticks out is I was trying to escape but my teammate decided they wanted points for healing so they were healing me and the Killer came up and downed me. My teammate escaped and I was Mori'd a centimeter from escaping. I was like "Wow. That was your fault, Nancy!" but I said it jokingly. I actually had someone the other day that told me they thought they got me killed because they were in the way. They ended up taking the hit that would have downed me and we all escaped. If they had gotten me killed, I wouldn't have been angry. The match was fun so I had no issues with dying. I mean I'd been dying all day so it's not like it would matter xD

    I play games to have fun so if I don't have fun, it can make me sad but I try not to take things too seriously. There's always another match.

    When i first started playing dbd a while ago and had no idea what to do, there was this one survivor that kept using a flashlight on me and i had no idea what to do, so i was just sitting there getting absolutely beamed for a while. After his beamer ran out, i finally started chasing him and he stunned my with a pallet, then vaulted a window and got away from my dumbass. It was around that time that they opened the exit gates. I heard them opening it and all that stuff so I went over there and saw what was up. They opened it and the guy from before was taunting me and stuff, then escaped. In the postgame chat that guy was calling me ass at the game and just generally being a dick, but this absolute godsend started sticking up for me and saying how it was probably one of my first games and he shouldn't be so upset at me for being new. It was a small thing but for some reason it really warmed my heart back then.

    That happened to me too. Had a Survivor be toxic to me all match with a flashlight then called me a -bleep- Killer with a -bleep- perk. I had NOED because it was one of the first perks I got after joining and he was the only person I hooked all match because of it. I got pretty upset, but to my surprise the other Survivors told him off and defended me. I was so upset that I made a sarcastic response and left. I really regret not thanking them. It showed me that not everyone who plays this game is mean.

    And another post to add the wholesome discussion...

    I had a decent match yesterday where I was injured and being chased by a Hillbilly and my Adrenaline kicked in and I was able to make my way over to the exit gate. I got hit again so I was trying really hard to make it out the exit. A teammate kind of got in my way, but he got hit instead of me, so I and the rest of my team were able to escape. I thought nothing of it until the teammate who was in the way told me they thought they got me killed for a second. I told them my game was freezing on me and they said they're glad they helped in some way. My stupid self didn't even say thanks for taking the hit for me and not getting me killed. I wanted to message them, but couldn't find them on Steam...I've have other Survivors insult me so I don't often check the chat anymore. So when I saw that, it made me happy :3

    I remember playing with a Jake and Claudette against a Huntress. She downed me and Jake due to NOED and the Claudette escaped instead of trying to help us. In the chat, the Claudette apologized because she didn't know what to do other than leave because of the NOED. The Jake told her she made the right call and I agreed so we all said GG. It made me feel sad that the Claudette thought we'd be very angry and apologized to us. I mean I die a lot, so it's no big shock if I die xD;

    I don't know if it counts as wholesome, but I had a kind of cute moment with a Doctor yesterday. He found me and chased me for a bit, but didn't try to hit me. Honestly, it made me more anxious than him just trying to or actually hitting me. He just followed me. We ended up getting gens done and he opened the gate and my teammates left immediately. He was by the entrance of the exit gate and I ran up to him. I was going to let him kill me for some points, but he ran inside the exit gate and wanted me to just escape. I ended spinning in a circle and he started spinning in a circle too. It was funny and cute. I saw he had NOED so he could have easily gotten a kill. And I don't know why he didn't get the kill.

    I don't understand people in this game sometimes xD;
