they could implement it to where trying to Kobe/yeet/self unhook doesn’t progress the bar, and take away the skill check option leaving the timer at a set time. That’s just my suggestion though bc I grow tired of the complaints again and again about hook suiciding.
So I have actually seen a possible solution to this, I'm going to make a new post about it as it is a spoiler.

Nice attitude in a discussion forum…
Most of my points were facts from my POV, that's why. OP wanted to know why survivors were throwing the game for "no reason". I listed a few to explain that they are definitely solid reasons. I knew there would be counter arguments so I killed it at the point because it had nothing to do with a discussion after that post. Just general knowledge of why certain players were acting how they did. It was merely just clarification.

Some of these points are good though. I mean, good that it got changed.
Sure, the loop design is prety bad on the newer maps, but perks like boil over can burn forever for all i care.
If all a player enjoys is sitting in one spot to never get hooked, not progressing the game at all, I can also play with a bot. More enjoyable.
Both as survivor and as killer.
Yeah, I definitely agree that some were good (for example the gen changes), but it is starting to become a little oppressive when you put them all together, usually that does mean some sort of survivor buffs are coming our way though once the dev's notice their stats aren't how they want them to be.
I do still think there is comedy in losing a game, for example last night, a few mates were messing around and me and them both got knocked, all on the hook, and the random was in the corner of the map. I had to message while on the hook and ask them to unhook, after they did unhook they told me they were trying to get a zombie away from a gen for over a minute and didn't even realise lmao

You forgot they gutted survivor stealth. Remember the old Good Iron Will. Which could encourage you to do things even when injured because you could potentially sneak away. Nope killers didn't like having to actually look for players. As well as things like No where to hide and other perks that remove any chance of stealth play from, you knowm a alleged horror game.
There are a lot of points that I definitely missed mate, I just wrote down a few to explain to OP why it is that survivors could possibly be raging. I think you could put stealth with the bushes/filters points however. 2 days ago I did manage to hide in the most smallest, most random bush right in front of the killer with a glowing outfit, but he was so tunnel vision'd on someone else that he didn't even see me lmao

I just recently started experiencing this issue. I have been disconnected now mid match, sometimes 75% of the way through a match, sometimes at the beginning. I have reset my router, restarted my PC multiple times, and I'm about to try uninstalling and then reinstalling the game. Anyone else experiencing this issue with the latest update?
I haven't personally but I know a lot of other players who have been having disconnection and latency issues. Must've been a bad line of code in the update which will be resolved in the next one.

What answer are you expecting? Need a father figure in your life?
Telling someone they "need" to do something is not suggestive, that is a demand. Don't worry I don't expect you to admit to it.
Also, I definitely noticed that racial dad joke because I used the word "bruh" in one of my replies, even though I'm not black.

This post having 15 vote ups tells me everything I need to know about these forums. I am not sure when I read such nonesense the last time.
You discrediting anyone that disagrees with you as biased killer mains is also incredibly sad, and just suggests that you can't actually defend any of your arguments.
Survivors quit when 3 people are injured at the start before a gen is done because of the above healing issue, knowing it's useless to continue.
Excuse me what? What Survivor team gives up just because 3 survivors are injured before the first gen is completed? I have had enough matches that started like that where survivors were still able to win, or draw. That is just so beyond ridiculous.
If a survivor does not bring a toolbox, unless the killer is bad you can forget finishing all the gens in time
Again, where the hell do these arguments come from? Of course a survivor team can still complete 5 gens without toolboxes, even if the killer is good. The survivor team just also has to be good.
Loops are 50/50 but with killer speed they start becoming useless fast
This is factually wrong. Some loops are 50/50, but there are also enough loops that are still strong for survivors on most maps.
Killer movement speed is starting to get out of control when using survivor perks like lithe and they are still directly behind you within 3s (I honestly think this is a bug somewhere because killers should lose bloodlust but they don't, I also had a killer traverse 8 different rooms with me on his shoulders with 0 movement perks and without iron grasp (so clearly something is wrong)
Killer movement speed is still the same it has always been, and I never once had a match where the killer seemed to suddenly move too fast. If anything, you went against a hacker.
Maps are ridiculously small or terribly redesigned
Very untrue. Maps just aren't as survivor sided anymore as they used to be. There are some bad exceptions, like the new Haddonfield rework, but in general maps have simply become fairer.
At least a few points are understandable, like tunneling and camping still, after all this time, being such a problem in the game. But in general this post is just a complete mess, like holy crap. You claim that you are just saying the truth, but no, you aren't. You are just stating some incredibly biased opinions.
Your first two sentences tells me all I need to know. Love the contradiction btw.
And to clarify since you seem to misunderstand the point of this particular thread for some reason whatsoever, OP was stating that survivors give up on hook for no reason. I gave my two cents about the reasonings for it in them particular matches, it's got nothing to do with "not being able to defend myself" as you so eloquently put it. Argue the points all you want, they are all true from what I've experienced in my 1800H of playing.
The fact that I even had to elaborate on something so obvious though…

I think BHVR was actually planning a bit more for survs this season. See, because they hate their players for no reason, they're obviously plotting right this minute the exact ways to antagonize their fan base beyond belief.
Luckily, the Entity itself has graced my dreams (and nightmares) with visions of the anniversary patch, so without further ado:
They'll be reverting Old Moris, all the Regression nerfs they just announced, Old Old Ruin is back with the Skillcheck gimmick, Jolt and Surge are back, Huntress and Clown get their pinks reverted, Nurse gets 5 Blinks Basekit, Blights current Iri add-ons are buffed, and let's see...oh! I think they've also removed anti3gen and anti-camp, and the only map in the game is now the Basement.
If you liked this video, don't forget to hit that like button and leave a comment down below. Subscribe for more!
Even though it's satire I wouldn't be surprised if that ended up being true from the way things are going lmao

I always see people say "it's a crutch perk" and "good Survivors dont need it," but I personally think it's a good tool for SoloQ players and players learning the game.
PICKRATE =/= STRENGTH
It has a high pickrate for a reason, being that most players who use it are by themselves, they dont know what pallets have and havent been used, so WoO prevents them from going into a deadzone and being easy prey for the Killer. Compare this to a SWF, which can just call out which pallets they have used to their teammates for free without any perks.
I also feel as if people also kind of neglect the impact this has on new players. It gives them an easier time understanding how tilesets work, giving them a better grasp of their surrounding. None of this is to say that WoO is solely a "new player perk" but it helps make the game easier to learn which is amazing. I think people forget how different DBD is to other games, it's not like you can just transfer your skills from another game to DBD, so DBD has a huge learning gap that WoO helps with.
EXCUSES
And of all things to complain about being "crutch," I really dont understand Windows of Opportunity being one. I have never found myself playing Killer and saying "I lost this match because of Windows (oO)," I never really feel the impact it has on a match, things just kind of feel normal.
I personally feel like people want it nerfed because they assume it's why they lost a match, and I really hate to say it, but it really does feel like it, I think there are an infinite number of things people could complain about, WoO is not one of them.
OTHER PERKS I USE
I know someone out there will probably accuse me of defending it or something, so as always, I feel the need to say this.
I play both sides, I play both Killer and Survivor. I have 2.7k hours on Console and 1.1k hours on PC, not that hours mean much, but I have dumped a lot of time in this game for either side. I bought DBD to play both sides, so I dont consider myself a "Killer main" or "Survivor main," I just do my own thing and form my own opinions.
Now that the obligatory "I dont main either side" part is done, I can actually move onto the real meat and bones of this section.
I rarely use WoO. I prefer Any Means Necessary, I get to see where pallets are dropped while also having the ability to reset them if the Killer does not break them. Alternatively, I just rather run other SoloQ information, Alert and Troubleshooter are also other perks I enjoy.
In fact, here is a list of alternative perks I enjoy using:
- Alert
- Any Means Necessary
- Bond/Empathy
- Troubleshooter
- Aftercare
- Fogwise
NERFING WINDOWS WILL MAKE THINGS OVERALL HARDER
Nerfing WoO will simply result in players swapping over to perks that inherently make them harder to kill. I am aware that they already run that but basically freeing up a perk slot kind of shoehorns most players into doing it.
And listen, Idk about you, but Id rather have Windows of Opportunity in my matches instead of another (insert meta perk).
Killers just want something to complain about because they can't double back or anti loop lmao

I had a match against Wesker this morning. One of the teammates, Sable, decided to go into the basement and start the Weaving Spiders invocation while injured. Of course the Killer immediately went down there, downed her and hooked her down there, and she threw on the first hook. Yes, it was a bonehead move on her part, and it was a petty reason to give up, but it was a reason nonetheless.
I can tell you the reasoning behind that is because once the invocation is done they're going to be broken for the rest of the game anyway, so it made no difference from their POV lol

And quite frankly I refuse to believe I am the only person who has, I don't know what switch this pointless setting flips in people's brains but I swear every Anon Mode player I have ran into has been one of "those" people, you know who I'm talking about, right?
People like this Yui who suicided on hook for no reason and cost the entire team a easy win against a decent Wraith playerhttps://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/HJBZKGW95CNB/image.png
Or this Claudette who decided it would be a better use of her time to sit on the invocation circle for half a minute instead of either helping complete the invocation faster or leaving and doing a gen
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/OWECT18V3L2F/image.png
Or this Ace, who was cheating and couldn't be reported on Steam due to Anon Mode preventing that
Or, in my personal favourite case, this Feng and Adam, who held me hostage on the railing in the portal room in Hawkins for 10 minutes straight
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/WFCI0P5CY0A9/image.png
These are just a few examples of the kinds of people I run into that use Anon Mode, and quite frankly I don't believe that any of these people are people who actually "need" it, this setting makes people way, way too comfortable with being trolls and ruining matches for other people, call it negativity bias but I sincerely cannot think of a actual purpose for this mode that isn't letting bad people do bad things
Get rid of this setting, it serves no purpose that cannot be achieved through other means, and just lets people be pricks with impunity
Anonymous mode gets rid of targeted harassment on PC I believe, on Console it is buggy and does not work correctly (your name can still be seen on PC) so for example if you stream, targeted harassment via twitch inbox it is.
It does suck that you've had that particular experience with Anonymous mode but that's just how this game goes, people don't really take it serious and even less will now that depipping isn't a thing anymore.
I'd recommend enjoying the game and if you can't then just report and move on. No point worrying too much about it.
Oh and claudette.. or people getting very low points, remember that there will be new and old players constantly picking up and dropping the game off. Remember when you was new? I'm sure you wouldn't like to have been judged for it.. The easiest way to avoid most of these types of players though (from my experience) is to keep a high MMR. You will get the odd couple of games still but it is what it is.

9 toolboxes
8 brand new parts.
M1 killers ars going to suffer a lot more with new gen regression nerfs added to second chance and speed perks.
All 3 games with trapper were awful (although I'm kinda new to trapper having not played him much).
I shudder to think how relatively new players (or people learning a new killer) are going to cope.
Noob perks will always be meta as players learn the game then are unable to play without them.

Survivors have had the following butchered:
- Gens take longer to do
- Damn 10s, or do you mean that BnPs don't instantly complete gens anymore, or that Commodious toolboxes aren't the ultimate toolbox now? Is it the killer's slowdown perks? The same ones that are getting nerfed again and again? You may not want to realize this, if survivors played optimal gen can be done within 5 to 6 minutes.
- Healing is currently ridiculously too slow so if a killer is fairly close it is virtually impossible to finish one heal if they have even 1 slowdown perk due to how fast killers currently move.
- Solo healing is slower. From other points in here I'm getting the picture you're a solo player that stands in a bush self-caring.
- Maps are ridiculously small or terribly redesigned
- Historically maps have been ridiculously large. There are only a few maps I would consider small.
- Loops are 50/50 but with killer speed they start becoming useless fast
- You talk about loops being 50/50 a couple times here. Maybe you want to explain what you mean by 50/50? Are you saying that loops should be safe? That there shouldn't be a way for the killer to get a hit if the survivor messes up?
- survivor perks that would give you some sort of protection like dead hard is now butchered
- What was removed from DH was the sudden speed increase. IE DH for distance. You retained the protection.
- Boil over is useless and should be deleted from the game already
- From another in this list you have the idea that wiggling is there to let you escape the killer. Wiggling primary roll is to limit the killer's options. Do you want to be in the basement every match?
- Most PC killers still don't even feel the wiggle when carrying someone
- Pickup a survivor in an indoor map and tell me that. Also implying that wiggle should get you free.
- If you don't have at least one healing perk in moderate+ MMR games you can forget healing most of the time
- Shame there is only one way to heal. If only teammates could give back rubs.
- Survivors quit when 3 people are injured at the start before a gen is done because of the above healing issue, knowing it's useless to continue.
- No, they quit because survivors have this idea that they can get their way if they constantly drive up kill ratio by giving up when the match doesn't go as smoothly.
- Still nothing can be done about stopping a killer hard tunnelling without throwing the game unless your team is good
- Maybe you should of played back in 2018 when you had nothing. BHVR has done a lot in this category and it really shows when survivors show no appreciation for it.
- Pallets are still 50/50 when they should 60/40 to survivor due to all the killer buffs and outdated pallet drop mechanics (Getting it when you're in the pallet drop animation and the killer hasn't even finished the animation on their side)
- Still need to explain 50/50. The server determines this and is based on who reached the server first. The stun or the hit. This is an issue with all online games not just DBD. There is nothing that can be done. Maybe you just want the survivor to always get the stun and pop back up off the ground because of it.
- If a survivor does not bring a toolbox, unless the killer is bad you can forget finishing all the gens in time
- Maybe in your matches. Survivor get the gens done just fine in mine.
- Ridiculously large hitboxes for killers still exist (huntress hatchets hitting you around corners for example)
- You can go back and look why Huntress's hatchets are the way the are. What other examples do you have besides this? I find it ridiculous that the survivor hitbox doesn't conform to the model.
- Nurse still exists in the game and impossible to beat unless she's awful at the game (killer has a headset which you can't reduce them hearing you at close range like iron will used to.
- Let me tell you the sound design in DBD is the worst it has ever been. You think a headset gives you god level hearing? Ha! I can't even tell there's a survivor running around me if there's an object in between us. Go main Ace if you want a survivor that barely makes a sound.
- Unlimited map distance for range killers with miniscule objects in the way to stop them
- Huntress hate again I see. Cross maps are not easy and not as many maps provide what you are claiming here. Either you are not paying attention or you faced one too many Huntess mains with hours lining up shots.
- Still getting stuck on absolutely everything for no reason (Garbage map optimisation)
- Ya don't think that's an issue on both sides!
- PC players being able to play with filters (Clearly borderline cheating because it gives a lighting/tint advantage but if dev's don't want to address and accept that then so be it)
- What can you do about it? BHVR has voluntarily given NVIDIA permission to add DBD to the supported games.
- Survivor perks are starting to become borderline useless and will continue to be when they continue to get massacred
- Clearly not paying attention to the changes to killer perks. Historically is has been a massacre on killer perks while survivor perks go unchanged for years. You are just now feeling what killer had to before.
- Killer movement speed is starting to get out of control when using survivor perks like lithe and they are still directly behind you within 3s (I honestly think this is a bug somewhere because killers should lose bloodlust but they don't, I also had a killer traverse 8 different rooms with me on his shoulders with 0 movement perks and without iron grasp (so clearly something is wrong).
- Killer movement speed has not changed. 4.6m/s has been the baseline movement speed since beta. Slower is the exception not faster. 4.4m/s for Huntress as an example.
- There hasn't been any new perks that increase movement speed for killer. So I don't know where you are getting this feeling from.
- PTB is on PC so only the PC audience is being taken into consideration when getting feedback (one sided feedback, you do the math)
- It's not PC for PTB, it's Steam. Steam has the feature to allow Beta or past versions of a game to be downloaded and played. That's why the PTB is only on PC. XBOX, Playstation, and Nintendo do not have this feature. The reason we can only have two bug fix patches a chapter is because these console platforms don't allow constant updates and must go through a validation process.
- Foliage such as bushes have also been nerfed on some maps so it's just chases unless again, the killer is bad as they were in 1 of my games today
- Clearly not a Trapper main to think this is just a survivor issue.
- Like one of the earlier points, I feel you are the type that hides the moment you hear a TR.
- Turning animation for survivors needs to be adjusted and sped up slightly.
- One of those old animation was better types. I don't have an opinion besides turning shouldn't increase movement speed.
- Targeted before the game has even started for being TTV or a high prestige when you're just trying to chill
- Now you must be new to DBD. Explains the hiding in bushes. You think targeting is something new? You think hiding information will stop it. 🤣 Just so you know there were years when your rank was hidden, and since it was mostly Steam users, your name was effectively hidden. Didn't stop targeting at all. Idiots out there will target based on any factor. You run at a certain loop. How dare you. You can't stop it, welcome to online gaming.
- Being forced to save teammates but they don't do the same back
- Clearly you aren't forced.
- Being left on the hook
- Clearly you aren't forced.
- How is this a survivor butcher and not a general complaint about other players?
Yeah.. no. I'm not reading nor replying to all of that. OP wanted answers and I gave them. If you want to be upset about the truth, enjoy.
- Gens take longer to do

Do you know what makes me "give up"? tunneling
If I get saved from the hook and the killer is nearby, and they come for me again, I just give them the down and let go the skill checks. If they wanna win so bad then I will help them
I'd say at least 50% of the survivor players giving up is because tunneling is such a prevalent strategy that nothing can be done. If tunneling was virtually impossible to do I'm positive the suicides would decrease
Tunnelling will always be a thing, all you can do is get used to it tbh, at the start it's hella frustrating but then you learn to make a build specifically to blind and annoy the killer, the only way to get back at them.
It's a pity tit-for-tat system, nothing else you can really do tbh.
I do understand your frustration wholeheartedly though tbh. Maybe in time it will change.

It can be any killer any map. These players have no intention of even playing the game so why do they keep quing up. I stream every night but so many games are ruined by team mates who instantly give up. Sometimes its several games in a row 2-3 people will give up many just runing straight up to the killer to be hit an hooked.
Even when we are completly destorying the killer someone will give up on first hook.
Like the killer will have 1 or 2 hooks someone goes on first hook there is 1 gen left we are clearly winning an they just instantly give up.You have frustrations with other survivors not enjoying the game? Let me easily explain why, killers will hate this post because they know most of it is true but I'll be straight to the point with it.

Of course you'll have the white knights who main killer saying "git good" or "skill issue" after this post because they win 3 games out of 10+ in the games that they play which suddenly makes them a legendary killer who magically knows all about the game and have secretly been watching you play DBD in your bedroom and magically knows your skill level, then get upset about a survivor tapping a button on the controller at the exit gate like it affects them in real life.
I used to get annoyed at people DC'ing but now? How can you blame them? They're not enjoying the match or the game anymore and you're at the sole mercy of the killer, these matches do tend to be funny at parts if you do decide to stay though, and there are nice killers.. I had one where 2 people DC'd and me and a random were still in the game, I let the Wesker practise chasing me probably for around 7 minutes or so while the random did other stuff and it was still fun. The point with this last para? People do have the right to choose and DBD is still a casual game, adding a harsher penalty than one already in place will hurt the player base.
I could go on forever with this post and this list but you get the gist.

You don't see bad ones but you don't see many great ones either. There is a reason why she has the third lowest kill rate in the game at the top MMR AND 5th Lowest at General MMR, That's from the Dev stats themselves. People don't play her much at high MMR because while she is good, she has an insane amount of drawbacks. Idk if you ever watch comp DBD but almost every single time they play Huntress, they get absolutely destroyed.
I do not watch comp dbd, maybe sometime I will. I'm assuming it's streamed live on Twitch?
For me huntresses never miss lol

It was end of 2023 I think. Otz and other big content creators speculated that the devs must have changed something regarding mmr and it turned out to be true (the softcap for high skill was upped so there was a tighter bracket for high skilled players)
Since then people asking if the devs changed something regarding mmr skyrocketed and you see at least a few threads every week where people ask this.
also knowledge about mmr seems to be pretty bad in the community and still people act like they know exactly what’s going on when it couldn’t be further from the truth..I don’t only want to blame the community and the content creators here (which are to blame to some degree though) - but the whole SBMM topic isn’t well communicated by the devs..
Thanks for the clarification, I've amended my post title to better reflect what I was talking about.
I know all about the sbmm on games like apex but it doesn't seem too different to here. From your explanation I can tell that BHVR took inspiration from games such as COD when COD admitted to having SBMM the entire time, even as far back as MW2 and they favoured matchmaking speed over skill. I think this game does prefer skill over speed but due to the killer selection pool they sometimes struggle to do that as I saw with the 4X huntresses last night and this morning.
I also believe their non-communication in regards to SBMM is more for keeping a competitive advantage and not because they want to hide it from the player base.

It is, but with as many maps as we have, getting any one particular map by chance is slim, and it shares an offering with Garden of Joy, so chances are survivors aren't playing that offering as much now.
As soon as I complained to you about it I got the map LOL

Nurse and Blight are perhaps the only killers whose prevalence has correlation with MMR, and maybe Freddy too but in the other direction.
So yes, a very high MMR might get ypu more of those.
But Huntress as far as I'm aware is relatively common at all skill levels.
I don't think I would find it as bad rn if the map choices weren't horribly selected or laid out.
Since I know you've got a large amount of hours in this game, do you also know if the new cinema map is still in the game? I've played it twice since the update and haven't seen it since.

I swear, the fact the content creators called out that change in mmr last time broke this community
Your mmr is in no way determining what killer you a going to face. It’s just the skill level of your opponent (and teammates) - based on a calculated score which is literally only influenced by escapes/kills and it doesn’t even match that strictly and short queue times are always preferred instead of mmr-accurate matchmaking..
What are you referring to by the first sentence mate?
I've only been playing for a little over a year or two now so not sure if I was around for what you're referencing.

@Seraphor said:
There's nothing to prevent you from matching with the same killers, there's either a lot of peplaying Huntress right now, or it's just random chance.
For the record, I also go against far more Huntresses than I'd like.
I always thought it was to do with your MMR rating because when I play really good the game pits me against a Nurse which absolutely obliterates my team almost every time and when I play bad I get queue'd up against someone like freddy.
Yesterday night and today morning I went against huntress 4X in a row and to make it worse it's always on a map like haddonfield or one with 0 counterplay.

Dev note: Pain Resonance finds itself in almost 40% of all loadouts, and it is one of the most effective Perks in the game. We want to make this Perk less of a clear choice for all builds, but keep it rewarding for Killers who choose to chase multiple Survivors.
WOO has been the most used survivor perk for a long time. Its usage was 32% according to the Jan 2024 stats and 36%, according to the more recent Nightlight stats. If it is in nearly 40% of builds, shouldn't it be nerfed to make it "less of a clear choice", like Pain Res?
It's arguably the most effective survivor perk (after Dead Hard's nerf) given it's one of the most used survivor perk in the history of DBD and the most popular perk since its buff. It's absurd that WOO has much higher usage than the strongest survivor perks in the history of DBD. For example:
Pre-nerf MFT only had a 21% usage rate, much less than WOO.

https://new.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/171i5hc/see_whats_being_used_before_730_drops/
Pre-nerf Decisive Strike had a 27% usage rate, much less than WOO.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/JKXDRK3AWE5O/image.png
It's usage is similar to Dead Hard for distance, which had a ~40% usage rate.

You can call it a noobie learn the map perk or whatever, but the data doesn't really support that claim. It's still the most used survivor perk in high mmr, who don't need to learn the map at that point.
People will also argue that it closes the gap between SWF and solo but that's complete bs. I discussed it here long ago. Also, the stats show SWF and solos don't have much of a difference in escape rate (excluding high MMR 4-man swfs). There isn't much of a gap between SWFs and solos to begin with.
WOO is mainly used by experienced survivors so much because every time the game gets an update there's usually map changes too and you have to relearn the map and the pallets. It is also used to teach new survivors how to play the game, and finally, after using it too much you feel handicapped by not using it. They are the only 3 main reasons.
Please stop asking for noob-friendly perks to be nerfed, all this perk does is show the aura of pallets, it doesn't make the survivor have another health state, take extra hits, heal, go invisible from the killer or anything. And no, I don't use this perk anymore and haven't for almost a year now but I did when I first played and it did help me to understand the game better.
Nerfing this perk only hurts the player base.

The chat should be removed altogether, period. There is no value in it and keeping it for the illusory hope of "positive and wholesome communication" is just ridiculous. If people want to communicate so badly, they can send a friend request on Steam. When a killer sees a bunch of survivors loitering around the opened exit gates or when a survivor is BMed by a killer for getting caught too early, it's clear they won't be reading anything nice in the endgame chat.
Do you get a lot of hate messages endgame on PC? I haven't had hate mail in so long on Console.
I'd also like to suggest us getting more communication emotes/methods in game too, that's honestly the reason a lot of people TB. Because we have 3 emotes and one allows you to move whilst using it. Imagine a survivor at the exit gates but instead of TB'ing they decide to wave their arms from left to right? ik you'd find that funny surely and even if they did decide to be toxic end game you'd just simply be able to ignore it. But I do agree that toxicity can take it's toll.
Moderation is the only way that will be resolved, if the game was more strict on enforcing toxicity it would definitely be reduced.. however, me personally I don't really care if someone is toxic to me so, I guess its different from person to person.

First of all cheating is define by going against the (game) rules, so if it is white listed it is not cheating. Second when stuff like that is unfair then what about hardware settings and such? That's also something that can do the same as filters?... Are we now going to prevent people from using specific monitors? There are just differences between console and pc and you cannot change them…If you want to complain about one side having an advantage then complain that the settings of the game are that rudimentary that 20 year old games have more stuff to change in there...
The definition of cheating is the following "Cheating in video games involves a video game player using various methods to create an advantage beyond normal gameplay, usually in order to make the game easier."
ref: (There's others ofc, I just chose the first link)
Filters make the game easier as I have described, and the example in the OP, no?
It is also very easy for a game company to make mistakes as my example was just one of many game companies getting it wrong in the past.
"That's also something that can do the same as filters?." - This is an argument for another time IF it is needed, which I really don't think it will be. The accessibility of filters should be looked at again.
I wasn't specifically trying to start a Console VS PC war here btw, it was just perchance that it was included. Saying that, I do agree with you that we should get better graphical updates in game, specifically on the Console side I'd say a much needed 120fps upgrade to make the game feel smoother and keep it feeling over time.
As for hardware.. It's virtually impossible to please everyone and I'd rather BHVR invest their time into other meaningful updates. This one is a never-ending spiral and I don't really see that being an issue tbh.

You....you said movement perks. That's not movement in general. Perks are a different game mechanic. Absolutely baffling. Killers are still 110-115%,..
That being said my unpopular opinion is that most maps should be survivor sided within margin of error. When maps are very killer favored such as midwich it like.... Feels worse? Than when they're survivor favored. It's a weird thing and hard to pin down.
Yes mate I don't mean the base speed, I mean perks that increase it such as play with your food. There's nothing wrong with these perks but they can make a killer ridiculously fast and that removes almost all counterplay on certain maps, i.e haddonfield right now.
I agree with you on maps being slightly survivor sided. As for midwich, I actually feel like it is slightly survivor sided on one side and slightly killer sided on another, which makes it one of the nicer maps on this game for me personally.

I'm calling it now.
The new meta will be slugging.
Deadlock isn't really that good of a perk, grim embrace was okish, the only ones worth anything were pop and pain res.
I really think people underestimate how long it takes killers to do anything. Do you know how long it takes to hook a survivor?
- 2.7 wipe animation
- 3 second pickup animation
- ~10 seconds to walk to a scourge hook (a little more than half the bar, sometimes more sometimes less, but scourge hooks are harder to get to sometimes)
- 1.5 second hook animation
Now, even if you KNOW exactly where the gen is that popped, and assume its only half a map away from you. Lets say its the gen on the very middle of the map. How long does it take to walk to that gen? About 11 seconds.
So you have
2.7 + 3 + 10 + 1.5 + 11 = 28.2 seconds.
What is pain res NOW? 22 seconds off a gen.
Pain res LITERALLY does not pay for itself most of the time. Now you want to nerf it even more?
Any on top of that you want to nerf pop back to uselessness? When pop was at 20% nobody used it for a reason, 20% of CURRENT is nothing.
The only reason that "pain res is in nearly 40% of games" is because it is the "best" gen defense perk. But the game is LITERALLY BALANCED AROUDN THE IDEA THAT KILLERS MUST BRING GEN DEFENSE" Even top tier players and streamers basically admit this. Scott, otz, etc. all say that the game is balanced around killers bringing gen defense. Try not bringing gen defense some time in any high mmr game and watch you get destroyed.
I WANT to bring other perks, i DO NOT WANT to have to bring gen defense every game. PLEASE do the following:
- Nerf all of these perks harder. YES HARDER, cut them down even more. And nerf the other ones while you are at it
- BUFF the basekit gen kick to 10%
- BUFF the basekit gen regression to 200%
Make it like you have just done with leatherface. NERF THE ADDONS (in this case the perks) AND BUFF THE BASEKIT.
Movement killers go BRRR

if your getting max infection thats a skill issue its very easily to cleanse
Yes because explaining that hindered is effective in guaranteeing the killer a hit suddenly means I have a skill issue, but not you begging for it to be changed to a "massive repair penalty".
Secondly, don't tell me what to do.

@SpitefulHateful said:
Because it's so fun when survivors rush gens because you decided to play a fun build and then tell to unalive yourself for "sucking as a killer" in the endgame chat. Truly, the way to encourage people to play new killers and try new builds /s
If the chat was moderated and there was a three strike and out moderation system which was FAIR (like there is on PSN) then it would heavily reduce toxicity.
It has worked on PSN so far (almost anyway lol)

Chucky: Huge nerf with scamper gone as an option will filter many chucky players will see him alot less only a few Flicky chuckys will remain
Leatherface: Good QoL but how come hes not getting power restrictions while near hooked survivors? Either disable his power or make him 70% slower like you do with other killers
Wesker: Giving hindred at max infection is so pointless just change it to something else like Aura reading or oblivous or massive repair penalty
DeathSlinger: Extreme nothing burger give him more spear range 5 to 10 meters if your gonna buff reel speed these minuscules changes aint gonna give him enough to make things game changing
Blight: Every blight nerf is welcome and Make Blight 110% speed
Chucky's changes gave ability spam, no?
Wesker giving hindered is annoying from a survivors POV because it almost always guarantees a hit. So it is effective.
-
Yessir, it is indeed main. I had a map today where there was just cars all along the street spread out and one pallet directly in the middle. Against normal killers it wouldn't be AS bad, but a ranged killer or a movement killer? No chance. My entire team got destroyed going for 2 hooks directly next to each other, open season for huntress without even trying. And then chucky (who's yet to get an even bigger buff that directly affects ability spam)… might as well delete this map at this rate.
-
@Ohyakno said:
What movement perks?
Killer movement in general. As killers get faster with the numerous updates over the years, the maps aren't changed to reflect this. Easily missed.

Because there are differences between console and pc and just because console does not offer certain things does not mean you should limit pc players to that degree instead of allowing them to use what their platform is capable of... Every game that is out on several platforms basically has the same issue... The only problem is that DBD is one of the few game with settings up to the standards of the early 2000s with that little things you can change.
My point was exactly that, a point. It was an example.
Here's another example to your point, if console players have someone who uses a XIM that's not classed as cheating either right? Wrong, that is an unfair advantage just like the shader. Another POV is that even in the video above the tint was slightly bigger than the base game currently shows. Wouldn't make a huge difference to the overall gameplay right? wrong, some killers can appear to hit you from incredible range (i.e Ghostface), but the real reason is because of the hit range appearing a lot smaller than it really is.
If it has the ability to disrupt normal gameplay (which is does because it allows you to physically change the entire games visuals and colour pallets to stop players hiding in dark areas which is a natural aspect of a horror game) = cheating
Let alone it ruins immersion.
Counter arguments against this from this point onwards are just justifying why yet again a person needs another unfair advantage. Reinforcing your argument with "but the devs said it isn't cheating" doesn't back it up strongly either. Devs have been completely wrong in the past too (fortnite with vehicles for example and their countless changes throughout the years which they rolled back promptly).

The smaller buildings got decent changes imo, though indoor pallet loops were a bit silly.
What bothers me is the main house second floor. That side window on the right side (looking out from the front door for perspective) is now a death trap unless you run Balanced Landing since they put a giant hole very close to it, and that side of the house has no extended pallet loop for some defense. Not to mention, I haven't seen the other two rooms have a window vault either. I feel like they could have made a killer hole and a vault in those two rooms as well.
For haddenfield my comments were mainly directed at the big white house, the street and the hedges to the right of it. They could've done a better job surely?
-
This is the first I've seen of this but how is this not cheating when on console we get dark parts of the map (that you'd assume you can hide behind or in) but on PC as a killer you can instantly turn the map bright and see every survivor clearly trying to hide?
Dev rollback needs to be done on this asap, it's a no brainer from a competitors' perspective.

It's getting tiring, despite being so used to it.
Literally the same types of comments under the same post on Facebook today:
"The devs don't even care about Killers anymore, what even is this update"
"Survivors can't have anything anymore can they"
I mean, bruh, it's never ending and it will never end. Both sides got nerfs this update, chill out.
I think the issue is that when survivors get nerfed it heavily disrupts the gameplay because when survivor protection perks are gutted (DH for example) it heavily changes the game because of how limited the options are despite the vast amount of perks available.
For killers, they can just change their tactics and still do well.

Doesn’t anyone else think it’s really interesting that, for the most part, it’s killer-mains complaining about survivors quitting instead of survivor mains complaining about it.
I think this is very telling. Survivor mains seem to be way more understanding about survivors quitting even though it affects survivors way more than killers.
Even if this is true I've personally noticed the following:
Teammates DC so often now that it has no effect on the game whatsoever because regardless you're going to lose 60% of your games as a survivor.
From past updates it's also clear that updates that help survivors also bolster the player capacity (as can easily be seen by checking the player charts and the corresponding update patch).
I also think that BHVR has not done a good job at updating the perks the first time around and it needs a second looking into. Maybe this time they could also change the game so being faster than the killer/survivor is not the main priority to create a build around for both sides and they could introduce an entirely new aspect to this. Not only will this bring a lot of players back, it would make the game fresh again.
We're currently down to 28k-31k players worldwide so I know I'm not the only one with this sentiment. I have other ideas but I'll leave it at that, for now.

I'm sorry that so much of your valuable time had been wasted trying to break that 3 gen. Although the devs has put into place a cap on regression events, the game clearly was not fast enough for you. I'm sure you could have used that time to do something more meaningful like find a cure for diseases or help the impoverished instead of trying to hold m1 in a computer game.

I'll thanks for the tip though I'm not a tech guy so if you can would you be able to example it in simple terms?
For Steps 1 + 2:
Go on google and type "down detector + (your internet company providers name here)" then click the first link and check the chart to see if they are having any issues in the country, if there's yellow and red dots on the map, then yes they are.
ISP = internet service provider
Wi-Fi hub = your internet box
Faulty Chord = in this instance it's the internet wire connecting into the back of your console, unless you're wired then you can skip this step
For Step 3 if you are on PS5:
On your console go to settings > Network > settings > and where it says "Setup internet connection, press Options on this setting and you'll see "advanced options, 2g/5g wifi etc
All you need to do here is switch "wifi frequency bands" to 5G and in "advanced settings" change "MTU to "1472".
For step 4:
It might be better for you to ignore this step if you're not too sure what you're doing here mate.

So I'm trying to play a match or two but I'm constantly jittering left and right and it's not lag since my connect at make is about 58 but never sky rockets that often so why am I constantly jittering and how do I fix it.
Edit: I'm not downloading anything and I'm on console also it's those dimond looking things. It only happens anytime I move or do anything.
It is most likely from your side even with the low ping but there are some things you could try to resolve the issue.
First, check https://downdetector.co.uk/ and find your ISP, this website will tell you if they had any intermittent issues today.
Secondly, you could try restarting your Wi-Fi hub (turn it off for 5 minutes then turn it back on) and also checking for loose wires on your modem or console, maybe your chord is faulty? (might not be but this could be an issue).
Thirdly, you can force a 5g connection by changing the Wi-Fi frequency band (so it doesn't switch between 2g and 5g and forces a stable connection) by going to your network, pressing options and switching the connection to "5g only" (this is how you'd do it on PS5, not sure if Xbox or previous versions allow you to also do this). You can also go into the advanced settings in your connected internet connection and change your MTU setting, usually lower is better, you can try anything between 1200-1500, if it's under this you will most likely disconnect.
Fourth, you could try port forwarding via your hub to your console, this also helps solve NAT issues by forcing an open NAT type (the constant handshake connection could be the issue here).

I don't get how that was "boring" though.
Its a high stakes game of plinking away at the gens right under the nose of the killer. Almost every attempt will force interaction with the killer and the goal is to distract the killer enough to complete the last gen as safely as possible.
The reason it was boring was because the killer could rotate between all 3 gens within 12 seconds, I even had a toolbox and deja vou, made no difference. Eventually we made it out but it took a survivor to eventually die and at least 5-10 minutes of this boring back and forth exchange.
