  • as a killer, getting 3+ kills.

as a survivor, escaping. though dying and still making good points / pipping is usually considered a draw for me.

of course there are some nieche scenarios for both sides, but those happen very rarely

  • i do.

unless she has stridor / i dont have iron will. in that case, screw spirit!

  • i have it as the 4th result...

  • nothing beats the Darkness Among Us chapter in that regard.

however, if we judge it based on how things are now (with the Legion changes), then yes. Binding Of Kin is the worst chapter we have.

  • simply put, no.

just like literally any other existing trap based killer he should always be able to carry, and start out with, all of his traps.

the entirety of "run around the map to slowly collect your power" itself is an incredibly outdated design and has no place in the current DbD. as a secondary power (e.g. corrupt purge)? yeah, sure. after already using the power before? also okay. but he should NOT have to run around at the very start just to get access to his base ability.

yet for some reason a huge amount of people thinks giving him the brown bag basekit would fix all of his issues.

thats like putting a band aid on a gaping flesh wound and acting like everything was fine now. it is simply not enough.

  • old Ruin was a thoroughly flawed Perk, design wise.

it not only was 100% RNG reliant, it also punished new players for being new and had pretty much no effect on good ones.

it is for the better for this games health they reworked it.

  • i dont think so, i KNOW they do.

you can go and watch some of them do it over at Twitch aswell. Almo, McLean, Not_Queen or Peanits to name a few.

and even if some dont, i cant really blame them considering they work with it every day, so its understandable when they dont want to spend their free time with it aswell.

  • But to criticize every chapter or update saying its unplayable and demand a ridiculous amount BP for free is just disproportionate.

but... the chapter is quite literally unplayable for many due to the performance issues...

optimisation this chapter is really a mess.

  • ive had someone do that to me at the day of release.

however, im pretty sure that was on accident xD

basically, they were outpositioned (no pallets in their immediate surroundings) and injured.

they ran into a Zombie and got infected, then the speedboost combined with a Dead Hard got them to another rather safe pallet.

that Zombie got fired that day.

  • this was a huge QoL change for Trapper.

i am very happy with it - and it might actually make it possible to properly hide your traps in the new maps shallow grass textures again!

now we are one step closer to him being actually decent!

I might actually go as far as to remove him from the Trickster Tier now...

  • i see it as a pretty futile attempt seeing how SWFs are being matched by the highest rank available.

anything you got that wasnt +/- 6 ranks of the highest ranking player was just DbDs matchmaking system being bad

  • i no longer do.

the overheat mechanic sucked all the fun out of him.

I agree with the RNG should be taken down. But start with 6-7 traps in hand is so easy for him to do 3 Gen strats. With bag addon already buff him far alot. He doesnt need to have Purple + Yellow bag as basekit, for both are top tier addon.

    he starts with 6.

also, literally any other trap based killer can do exactly that: set up a 3 gen. so why exclude Trapper?

in fact, even with that buff Hag would still be better at locking down a 3 gen due to her traps wide range and them being undisarmable.

needless to say, bag add ons would require changes.

  • this is the kind of issue that is most likely going to be addressed in a hotfix.

those take ~1 week, but in serious cases like this one i could see it happen quicker than that.

    lets hope for the best...

  • i dont necessarily agree on your two steps, but i agree that overall only two steps are really needed to make him somewhat decent:

    1) remove the freaking RNG - just played the "kill the bots" and 3 of them made it out first try ;-;

    2) let him start with (and always be able to carry) all traps in hand.

the reasoning behind those two is quite simple, the RNG is a stupid mechanic and the entirety of "collect your traps before you can place them" is horribly outdated (he is the only trap based killer in the game with that restriction. literally everyone else doesnt suffer it, so why should he? he is nowhere near strong enough to justify that - especially considering all the other downsides his Ability has)

Exactly. Pretty sure that we will see this Perk very often in Killer Loadouts, maybe not instantly after the Release, but after a few weeks or maybe months we will see it frequently.

yeah, its gonna take some time for people to unlock the Perk and adjust their builds, but once they did i believe it can be rather frequently played Perk.

nothing meta shaking, but definitely a viable choice.

  • and then you have the Zombies who get stuck on a simple window because they dont realize they cant vault over it :)

god i love this game xD

  • slugging for the 4k is just so... boring.

    like, for everyone.

and the few bonus points you can maybe make from it are absolutely not worth the amount of extra time put into it either!

i dont mind it if the last person reveals themselves to the killer, thats just stupid on their part, but if the third gets downed and the killer leaves them there to go look for the fourth who could be anywhere on the map, thats just so unnecessary.

btw if you wanna beat a slugging scenario as a survivor, here is how:

    1) if you're the one being slugged: crawl away from the spot the killer originally downed you in and try to go somewhere they wont find you when they decide to go and hook you once they realize they cant find the last. you dont wanna give them any bonus BP. do NOT crawl towards your friend though. thats just gonna end up with you ratting them out and everyone dying.

    2) if you're the one alive, do NOT try to help your friend. go hide somewhere and try to locate hatch / an exit gate when you think the Killer might know about hatch. rescuing your bud is rarely ever worth it and in 9 out of 10 cases gets you killed aswell. the only time you should try to rescue a slug as the last person alive would be when an exit is available or the killer is far away and you trust both in your own and the slugged persons looping skills to hold out until the last gen is done (which, for this scenario to work, should be pretty progressed by now).

its very boring, but thats just the nature of slugging.

  • yeah i dont really get how the Devs didnt think of that.

like, they should really know their community at this point... sadly the person in the screenshot is by far not the only one with such a mindset.

  • the Killer released not even a day ago and is arguably one of the most hyped characters to ever get introduced into DbD.

you will be seeing him for a while now.

especially since he is actually pretty fun to play.

  • @odra said:

hope you do it as sarcasm , coz why using that perks when i can guess where the survivor will be spawned

why guess where they might spawn when you can know exactly where and how many spawned in each location?

this Perk is going to be amazingly good on Killers with quick map traversal such as Blight and incredible when combined with Corrupt Intervention, as said Perks counterplay is to hide and wait out the two minutes.

and even if both of these scenarios dont apply, you still get told where exactly you need to go to interrupt and stall the most people as soon as the trial starts due to you not only getting an spawn location reveal on them, but also you get told where they wander off to.

  • i stockpiled a ton of both Add Ons and did my all to get tier 3 as fast as humanly possible.

it took me many tries (especially when considering that you couldnt close hatch back then) but ultimately i got it by pure trial and error.

the most important Perk for it has to be Play With Your Food though. it can not only completely negate the Judiths Tombstone downside of having less movementspeed, but, due to you never actually attacking (grabbing and killing someone does not count), you will never be losing your stacks and can build up even faster than usual movementspeed aswell.

you'll have to be hoping for a bad lobby though, one that wont be plowing through generators or abusing the locker "tech" to scam you out of your achievement (still find it incredibly annoying they havent removed that yet - just... let Tombstone Myers kill people in the dying state and the problem is solved).

  • not a top tier killer, not bottom tier either.

he's a good mid tier character but ultimately no one i would pick over Daddy Slinger if i wanted to do well.

that being said, he is incredibly fun to play though.

at least from my experience (which, as everyone elses, has been rather limited so far)

  • yeah optimisation is horrible this chapter.

im on PC and i have constant freezes, i can only imagine how horrible it must be on plattforms that already struggled with optimisation issues prior to this chapter...

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

Yeah it looks very good. I look forward to seeing what they do with other killers. Especially Mikey.

    a shirtless skin i hope ;)

  • jup.

got 200k BP but had to reselect everything .-.

  • in terms of strength and viability, PGTW takes that spot for me.

its a great Perk on any existing Killer, it has a very strong effect to it and it can singlehandedly make the difference between winning or losing.

now in terms of utility the winner has to be BBQ though. doubling the amount of BP earned each match is huge and helps making the grind a lot more bearable.

but ingame its not that great. the aura reveal is nice, but unless you got a Killer with high map pressure you wont be getting that much out of it.

  • i once accidentally Static Blasted an Elodie that was sitting right next to me back when she was really loud...

that not only made me jump, it also deafened me for the rest of the day xD

  • all im gonna say about that is that if someone bodyblocks with BT they have no right to complain about me going after them afterwards.

so in short, BT bodyblocking isnt worth it unless you got DS aswell.

    no.

if this demogorgon almost 32k BP escape game has proven one thing, its that we need to nerf pig.

  • Twins dont need any buffs or nerfs.

They need a full on power rework on at least the scale of Doctor.

  • i dislike it because its a very skillless perk to run.

you vault a window and immediately eliminate that tile, its quite boring to see imo.

now to clarify: no i dont get mad at anyone for running the perk, i simply get bored.

  • congrats! :D

  • that just sounds like asking for free kills.

its already easy enough to down someone with Victor, he really, really does not need to be any more lethal.

i'd even argue for the opposite.

  • does that go both ways (BBQ & WGLF)?

    if so, im 100% in!

  • oh boy, i sure have had some ideas.

    1. allow Zombies to interact with windows and dropped pallets. They would vault windows and block a dropped pallet.
    2. change the Zombie AI to patroll a set area instead of going after sound (= closing in on gens). they will return to their dedicated area immediately once they are out of chase.
    3. change the amount of Zombies based on how many patroll zones can be put on a map
    4. Zombies actively avoit Hooks someone is currently getting sacrificed on

so what are those changes aiming to do?

the first one is ment to mainly fix a bug i've noticed where Zombies run at a window, not being able to understand they cant get through there. by allowing them to very slowly vault it, we'd give them a new role in chases as some sort of window blockade for both sides. for pallets it would be similar, but without the Zombie actually vaulting it - Survivors can still vault the Pallet, but the Zombie would get an guaranteed hit on them if they do. it would basically force a Survivor out of a tile they were in, making the Zombie a strong asset to Nemesis chases.

the second one comes hand in hand with the third one. My goal here was to make Zombies much more consistent than what they currently are without making them too oppressing. Ultimately, i want the amount of Zombies to be reliant on the map size, to allow Nemesis Zombies to be equally impactful on large and on small ones. At the same time i didnt want to have like 5 Zombies that would all stand around the last 3 gens, not letting anyone touching them, so i came up with the area patroll rule. This would also make it so any chase Nemesis is taking throughout the trial pretty much guarantees him at least one Zombie in the general area he chases someone in.

and the fourth one is pretty self explanatory - we really dont need Zombies to camp a hook.

  • DbD Killer Tier List.png

    might aswell share mine.

a tiny bit outdated, i have to admit, but i'd still mostly side with it.

maybe switch Huntress and Freddy and move Blight and Hag up by one so Oni is #3 of A Tier.

  • cool!

i still wont be wearing them, but at least it makes me feel better for grinding them on every available character back then! xD

"i wont deny there are scenarios where Coup can come in clutch."

Yes, a thing you cannot say about Beast of Prey (theoretically it might as well, but the stars havbe to allign right to do so) or Territorial. Maybe for Lullaby, but thats also questionable since it will not live long enough to torture survivors with it's no-warning skill checks (also thats just RNG).

"first of all, you lost gens - thats never a good thing in the first place."

Yes, and that will happen in nearly every game, even when winning. It's occasionally rare to 4k with no gens being done. Even when dominating hard, you will lose 1-2 gens easily, giving you the same number of coup stacks.

"secondly you have been actively avoiding to perform any form of lunge attacks in any of your previous chases to not accidentally lose your precious Coup token, which at the very least made chases take longer for you to win and in the worst case cost you a multitude of possible downs that you didnt want to take in order to not waste your Coup."

Avoiding a lunge is not that hard, just wait half a second longer until hitting. There's usually enough time to do so. If not, sure use the token to hit where you would have hit with a normal lunge. Better waste a token than not hit anyone bc you want to keep it. You just have to play it right, than there won't be a downside. Sure that might waste each and every token if you are unlucky, which makes you whole perk be wasted (so like a ruin being found right at the start of the trial). But i'd argue that won't happen often, esp. when you have some experienve with it.

"this perk is not "okay", this perk is straight up trash. The benefit of it gets outweight heavily by all the downsides and requirements."

Like i said, If you do not play to defensively with it, there is no downside. The downside comes with playing the perk wrong. The requirements are easy to meet (some gens will always get done, and if not, you do not need coup at all).

"Hoarder also isnt "underwhelming" - its probaply the worst Killer Perk in this entire game right now. You literally just spawn two bonus chests for Survivors to loot items they can use throughout the trial from and the only upside is that, IF you are close enough, you get told they do so."

And still it's better than territorial. Both perks are not expected by survivors, which is good. But territorial can easily be missed, the audio cue is just to miniscule. Or the perk does not activate bc you are still to near to the basement. Hoarder can also tell you when someone is in the basement (opening a chest). When I played Twins for adept, Hoarder gave me some intel in ever game, sometimes allowing me to surprise a survivor in the basement. A thing I cannot say about Territorial. You play multiple games without it being of any use for you. The only somewhat consistent way of playing it is camping the basement from far away. And we all now how fun camping is.

"Oppression is one of those Perks that COULD be good, but just end up being bad thanks to the unnecessary restrictions on it. it has way too long of a cooldown plus is extremely RNG reliant due to the random choosing of the 3 affected Perks. Its not horrible, but it gets outshined by pretty much all of the "combination Perks" you listed above."

Yes, the cooldown is unnecessarily long, wish it would be halved. It does not have to outshine the mentioned perks. It's there to complement them.

"the verdict for Twins: two absolutely horrid Perks and one okay one."

One ok (Coup), one underwhelming (Hoarder), one decent (Oppresion) in my book.

"Beast of Prey is very underwhelming in its effects. However, at the very least it rewards you with bonus BP and does not inflict you with a downside that actively hinders you, unlike Coup or Hoarder. that alone makes it better than those two."

The bonus BP are neglectable. Hunter is a very easy category to get points in. Also the are awarded in the trial, not post trial, so all it does is maxing out Hunter faster. If our games are over fast, sure you will get more out of hunter, but in a regular long trial, you will hit hunter may easily without it. Yes it has no downside, but its upside is barely existent, giving it a net zero imo. Coup played right will only be net zero if you are really unlucky with your lunge attacks. Hoarder will if the survivors do not open chests.

"now for Hex: Huntress Lullaby, you are right its a rather underwhelming Hex Perk. However, that doesnt mean it would be a weak Perk. The 6% bonus regression on missed Skillchecks can be huge, especially on Killers like Doctor or in combination with other Perks that make Skillchecks harder to hit, and the audio cue removal can make the Perk quite powerfull against People who might not be very concentrated on the gen aswell as force them to concentrate on their generator more than usual, meaning they become more oblivious to ambush attacks from stealth Killers. Its by no means an amazing Perk, but it certainly is better than Oppression is."

Yes the bonus regression is nice. But since it's a hex it has to live long enough. Which it usually doesn't, esp if you struggle hooking survivors. With ruin, you get the effect imidiately. Not with lullaby, weaker effect which needs build up. At least Oppression can be used from the start, only limited by its oppressive (pun not intended) cooldown. It grows stronger the less gens are available. Lullaby would get stronger as well, but the longer it stands the more likely it gets finally cleansed.

"the verdict for Huntress: one useless Perk, one severely underwhelming one and one decent Perk."

This i can agree with ^^.

"it might not be by much, but Huntresses Perks are definitely better than the Twins."

    Not in my book.

i think you are severely overrating both Coup and Hoarder

like, your main critisism about BoP is that "the stars have to allign properly for you to use it", but you use the exact same argument as an upside for Coup? like, what are the chances of a gen being completed right at the second i am in the perfect Coup distance around a loop for me to get a good effect out of it?

and yes, not going for lunge attacks all game to save your precious tokens is a huge downside. Ive seen Otz play this Perk a lot and his gameplay always ends up being the same: walking up to them so close that he physically touches them to then hit them in order to not lose the stack. that around loops literally means eating more pallets than usual / losing window loops you otherwise would have won to wait for them to fall for a mindgame so hard that they run straight into your arms, wasting so much time that you could have spend elewhere pressuring generators. and if you just go for lunges, you got a dead perk - well, unless the starts happen to allign properly for you to use it that is.

this means the perk is, at best, the same as BoP (absolutely useless except for that one in a hundred scenario) and at worst directly working against you.

and for Hoarder i think you severely underestimate the effect two bonus chests can have for Survivors. Thats two more chances at looting a Key or a Medkit to quickly heal themselves up (the later isnt even a rare occurence). Hoarder in its current state might aswell be a Survivor Perk, given that they are the only ones getting some actual use out of it. If i want a tracking Perk i am going to pick literally anything over that. god i'd rather not run any Perk than running Hoarder!

That Perk is literally always working against you. and even if there is that one super rare clutch moment where it reveals someone in the basement on the chest that you wouldnt have heared without the Perk anyway (another one in a thousand scenario btw), it still provides the Survivors with bonus items. What good is a Killer Perk that actively buffs Survivors? its literally the Killer being nice and equipping a Shiny Coin offering for them!

  • Survivors shouldnt be able to complete actions while speared.

i hate this so much. Especially on unhooks - i spear them, they turn around and are already on their way towards me and in the background the other guy magically floats off the hook.

  • they should also get a cool little visual on their screen that tells them they won!

idk, something fancy like "#1 VICTORY ROYALE"

Dude, Twins perks are way more useful than huntresses!

Beast of Prey and Territorial Imperative both do literally nothing for you in 9 out of 10 matches. And the one time it does have an effect, its not even great. Huntress Lullaby is one of the weakest hex perks. It might be useful with 4 or 5 stacks, but then it's usually gone. Apart from "impossible skillcheck" builds, Huntress Lullaby has no purpose. And even in this sort of builds, it's just icing on the cake, and easily replacable with better perks.

On the other hand, Coup even when just working once can give you a surprise hit or down. That alone makes it leagues better than Beast of Prey and Territorial Combined. Oppresion works really well together with Pop and Surveillance, and esp. shines in protecting a 3 gen. It's not just about the difficult skill check, it saves time bc you do not need to kick the gens yourself. I played all my matches with P0 Twins with it, bc I did not have better slowdown perks, and it allowed my to prevent or at least delay the completion of the last gen(s) multiple times. Hoarder is the weakest of Twins perks, but again can result in some suprise hits or downs, bc survivors won't expect it.

Overall, we have two trash and one underwhelming perk for huntress, and two ok and one underwhelming perks for Twins. Sure Twins perks are not great, but saying they are even worse than Huntresses, that's just so wrong.

i wont deny there are scenarios where Coup can come in clutch.

but do you know what leads up to exactly this one specific scenario?

first of all, you lost gens - thats never a good thing in the first place. secondly you have been actively avoiding to perform any form of lunge attacks in any of your previous chases to not accidentally lose your precious Coup token, which at the very least made chases take longer for you to win and in the worst case cost you a multitude of possible downs that you didnt want to take in order to not waste your Coup.

and then they also went ahead and nerfed its range, great. so the ONE upside it had is now also severely worse than before.

this perk is not "okay", this perk is straight up trash. The benefit of it gets outweight heavily by all the downsides and requirements.

Hoarder also isnt "underwhelming" - its probaply the worst Killer Perk in this entire game right now. You literally just spawn two bonus chests for Survivors to loot items they can use throughout the trial from and the only upside is that, IF you are close enough, you get told they do so.

Oppression is one of those Perks that COULD be good, but just end up being bad thanks to the unnecessary restrictions on it. it has way too long of a cooldown plus is extremely RNG reliant due to the random choosing of the 3 affected Perks. Its not horrible, but it gets outshined by pretty much all of the "combination Perks" you listed above.

the verdict for Twins: two absolutely horrid Perks and one okay one.

for Huntress it is quite similar though.

Beast of Prey is very underwhelming in its effects. However, at the very least it rewards you with bonus BP and does not inflict you with a downside that actively hinders you, unlike Coup or Hoarder. that alone makes it better than those two.

Territorial Imperative is one of those Perks that are just going to be dead throughout the entire trial, so once again a very useless Perk, I'll agree with you there. However, once again, at the very least it does not actively hinder you in your game, so that makes it better than at least Hoarder. Coup still has the benefit of saying "but if you get in this one in a hundred scenario where you can properly use it, it comes in clutch!", which Territorial doesnt really have (unless you're a Bubba sitting at exactly 32m from the basement), so those two would be kind of even.

now for Hex: Huntress Lullaby, you are right its a rather underwhelming Hex Perk. Its by no means an amazing Perk, but it certainly is better than Oppression is.

the verdict for Huntress: one useless Perk, one severely underwhelming one and one decent Perk.

it might not be by much, but Huntresses Perks are definitely better than the Twins.

at the very least none of Huntresses Perks have a negative influence over the trial for the Killer, which is the case for two of the Twins Perks.

  • but didnt they say they were working on an overall MMR rating aswell that would rank your overall killers even if you didnt play them?

i know they at the very least acknowledged this way before this test even started, so i guess its just not been implemented yet?

  • in short, you just wanted to ragequit DbD for about forever.

all i know is that i want that skin!

  • sure!

you have one that straight up buffs Survivors (Hoarder), one that is 100% RNG with a 50 hour cooldown (Oppression) and one that is super hard to get, immensly underwhelming, while also being extremely easily wasted on accident (Coup de Grace)!

in terms of Perk vaule the Twins are, in my humble opinion, the worst Killer in the game. Even Huntress has better Perks and that says a LOT.

1 … 24 25 26 27 28 … 140
