  • When having a all red rank SWF with one brown rank should put you with red rank killers, not brown rank.

Don't slug the last person alive to find hatch, then complain the person had adrenaline and escaped.

Don't be toxic to the opposing side because they were at end game chat, report than move on.

    NOED is fair and balanced.

Spirit doesn't need a nerf because a handful of people don't know how to counter her.

    New ruin is actually good.

New Bubba's chainsaw is clunky and sometimes makes hits that it shouldn't.

Disconnection penalty needs a better protection against hackers.

Hitboxes are garbage, pills aren't proper hit boxes.

I will add more when I remember

you shouldn't but it how the game is.people all play different some try harder then others.

we all get bad game get camped I just move on to the next game hope for the best.

Thanks, hopefully I don't gotta deal with another user saying they hope I die lol

normally killer want to get someone out of the game fast and can you blame them? how fast gen go it crazy....

After the killer hooked Claudette, first gen popped, I save Claudette and she runs out after being hit but BT activated, I get trapped in basement so killer goes for me and knocks me. When Bill gets me, killer is right on his tail, avoids Bill and makes bee line for me. I run him long enough for the second gen to pop. Why should I be punished because he wants to proxy camp?

  • Yes, I got chased for 4+ gens also against a Clown, and he ended up proxy camping when he finally got me. Since I was doing solo queue, no one took aggro. I gave the Clown a gg though, I had fun.

I just think its the psychological need to win, this apply's to survivors and killers. If you are confused on what I'm saying well what I am trying to say is that there is something inside us that activates when we keep losing like at uno after a few rounds, or competitive Overwatch, or Dead by Daylight even( It happens when you keep dieing to killer by being tunneled, camped, looped and so on or getting a de pip for killer and you being treated like trash through out the match.) and it grows so big that people will resort into toxicity, its a common thing that happens in games. But by doing this you spread the toxicity. Now I have met some very nice people in the chat within Dbd community. However there are a handful of people that resort to this. Just don't let this get to you and try to your best, its okay to do it sometimes( I mean like once a day on both sides) but not every time. So good luck man I hope your having better matches and I will see you in the fog.

I have been avoiding it entirely since I wanna play killer more and I will understand that on both sides you gotta deal with the same toxicity. So what I try to do (even if I lose) give the killer/survivors a gg and go about my day.

In the end we are just people playing a game. If a survivor/killer wants to rub it in my face that I lost, so be it. Someone actually told me to kms after a game because the Spirit called them a scummy teammate for playing emersed so she killed that Claudette and let me go. I've delt with so much worse, I've grown thick skin. So I reported them and moved on.

  • It'd be a barbeque feast for the tunneling and face camping killers. Expect to get farmed off hook 10x more in solo queue because BT won't save you. Killer knows you don't have DS so they have no trouble tunneling.

"What if you have good team coordination." That's not gonna stop that Myers or Ghostface in the corner putting you in exposed because spine chill doesn't have your back. What about hella new killers who use NOED just to help them out at the start cuz that toxic SWF came in and all of them are red ranks but they have a rank 19 hosting the lobby.

So many things would happen that make the game terrible, sure the game is somewhat balanced this way, but there are still killers with the power to insta-down. My conclusion is the game wouldn't last a week this way and everyone on both sides would leave.

Depending on the killer some get salty over 360s. Really it's just exploiting the terrible hitboxes and lag to make the killer miss for the most part.

Personally, I only 1st hook mori if the person has shown they're really good at running and time-wasting, because I'd rather them be out than have them waste my time for a whole extra chase or two, or if they're teabagging and flashlight clicking, they're choosing to be annoying and cocky so I don't owe them niceties. That said I generally only bring a mori for dailies, or if I think someone deserves it, which more often than not is because they screwed me over when we were both survivors.

Understandable, I wanna play killer more so I know longer teabag or flashlight click, the only time I do is if the killer is farming or I will flashlight click to get the killers attention off someone they are tunneling. I'd say I am a 7.5/10 running a killer, so I understand why they wanted to kill me right off the bat, just slightly annoying when it happens.

Mostly cuz we all have bad games, I have been pipping down all my previous games cuz crappy teammates or the killer is running sweat build or playing toxic. I don't wanna take it out on the people in the game cuz I don't want them to have a bad game and do the same thing causing a never ending cycle.

  • @SloppyKnockout said:

The question in the OP is too broad. It doesn't cover any scenario.

Example - If I run into a group that I know is a 4 stack SWF, and I KNOW they are good players, I may run an Ebony. Not with the intention of using it, but as an insurance policy in case 3 gens gen done before the first chase is over with and I need some hard pressure. A lot of killers do this. I've even seen @ScottJund do it. We don't want to use it, but it's there if we need to pressure. Or if a survivor jumps into a locker because they have DS, or they try to take a hit with BT (aka saying "Tunnel me!"). Then they'll pay. With their lives. :D

Without a mori? Say I'm on Mother's Dwelling as any killer without mobility. It's very easy to lose 2 gens very quickly because of how big the map is. You can't be everywhere at once with most killers. So in a case like this, to apply hard pressure, I may tunnel someone out of the game. Nothing personal about it, really. It's a strategy to regain pressure.

Scenario That Was Happening In My Game - All solo queue, no one doing SWF only one offering is brought, a Mori. Killer finds me and Jake, goes after Jake, loses him. Goes for me and loses me. Goes for Claudette, hooks her and I have a gen halfway done, and another gen gets finished after I unhook her. Killer whacks her my BT activates. His attention goes for me, I get knocked and hooked cuz I was trapped. Bill unhooks me, takes a hit, runs away and I run out as well, killer makes a bee line for me. As they chase me, the second gen gets popped. Killer knocks me and moris. End game comes, killer has NOED and Bloodwarden

  • @sad_killer_main said:

When you mori someone, you don't need to mori people that's behaving in a toxic way.

You just mori whoever you want in that moment.

If you were the one to get moried well, bad luck I guess.

Most likely bad luck, just got booted from a game for no reason, killer didn't D/C I got my bloodpoints, said I escaped, then I get to lobby and there's the D/C penalty

The killer has had a bad day? The killer feels like he/she needs to punish the unhooker for unhooking with BT in the killer's face before the killer even left?

idk, there are a number of reasons, I guess.

I unhooked 30 seconds after the killer left, they just proxy camped

  • @Velarica said:

If you tunnel off hook your playing killer wrong. Unless your running an endgame build with Noed/Bloodwarden you should spend your time pressuring gens while someone is on the hook, as this maximizes the number of people off gens at a given time. Tunnelling off hook means if you were actually applying gen pressure you must then run back to the hook in the hopes of picking up their trail, or you were patrolling too closely the entire time not applying gen pressure at all. Mechanically speaking guarding hooks is the bane of any killer and should be avoided at all costs for maximum gen pressure. (It also makes the game more fun for survivors and yourself.)

As for Moris... well its better to hook all 4 survivors before popping an ebony mori, and for a green mori thats... well the correct way to play which is why moris need a rework cause thats not really fun for anyone. There shouldnt be an offering that encourages such a method of play. Yellow mori is fine as always and should probably be base kit TBH.

He had NOED and Bloodwarden lol, you called it

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1576643#Comment_1576643

If I have a Daily Ritual to kill a survivor by my hand, whoever I first hook is usually the one getting the Mori. Nothing against them, I was want the 60k BP bonus guaranteed and out of the way. I typically won't use the Mori the rest of the match after that if it's an ebony, but I try to use the green one if I have any (I seem to get more ebonies than green Moris).

Right now I am on the hit 5 exposed survivors challenge, which means NOED builds. Something else I dislike doing. But I just don't feel like wasting the time on Ghostface's stalk and hope I don't get exposed first, or T3 Myers build-up and timing. Probably not going to make survivors happy with NOED, but I didn't make the challenges.

After that is the kill four survivors by any means in a single trial challenge to complete the Level II tome on my killer path. That's going to probably be a combination of hooks, slugging, and Moris. Again, not my preferred play style.

As I mentioned before (not being aggressive, promise) the Claudette was first hook, I got her off, she was whacked BT activated then he starts going for me. I get knocked, after a gen gets popped, hooked in basement, and when Bill unhooks me, he knocks me and moris after Bill took a hit.

  • @theArashi said:

Doc is a relatively weak killer.

If survivors play smart and can loop half decently doc already lost unless he gets upper hand by downing few survivors close to each other or getting someone out of the game quickly.

The Bill, Jake, and I could loop the Doc for one gen or longer, Claudette went down instantly, so he probably thought we posed a threat and wasn't worried about Claudette. So he probably wanted to take out the bigger fish and move to the smaller ones

  • @malatruse said:

Maybe the Doctor player had a crush on Claudette?

I mean, I ship it (jk jk)

  • @CelticMaelstrom said:

Nothing. Killers kill. So why bring a mori and possibly miss out on a kill or multiple kills to be nice to survivors? Also, could be an archive challenge. Could be the killer is in a rush. Could be the killer is in a bad mood.

Better question would be: why you are upset with killers, who's job is to kill you and why you think you're entitled to a second hook before they kill you.😮

Nice bait, never was acting salty nor entitled, gave the killer a 'gg' after I died and went about my gaming. Just a genuine question. Killers ask the same questions about survivors like "why didn't I get a 4k" I was just genuinely curious. Just the killer didn't do it to the Claudette, only me. So I thought I would ask, wasn't being toxic, just playing the game normally.

  • @mintchapstick said:

Sometimes it's just because you have to get someone out of the game to have an even ground. It depends on what level you're playing at.

Red/Purple Ranks, I got tunneled out of basement, killer was Doctor, I 360ed twice and ran him long enough for a gen to be popped, wasn't being toxic, even gave him a 'gg' after I died. I wasn't salty that he killed me (not implying you called me salty, I swear) just wondering, he didn't tunnel the Claudette either when I unhooked her from basement. It was just me.

3/4 accused me of camping, 1 was a crossplayer so he/she probably didn't knew about it, and it's not just about the accusation it's mostly because of the excessive use of....... Trying to belittle someone? I think that is the word.

I understand, and it sucks some people are so entitled, they feel the need to belittle another person calling them a camper. Sometimes (usually with new players) they do this to try and force them to fit this narrative. And within it, sometimes the killer will question themself, "Am I camping?" And it's sad they have to do that because survivor mains can be toxic. I used to be hella toxic, but after playing killer a bit, I hated it happening to me, so I cut back on my toxicity.

  • No, if my teammates wanna be idiots and swarm my hook, then I'mma just say, "Have fun with your Barbeque, mind sharing the roasted limbs of my teammates."

But seriously, if someone says that's camping, they have half a braincell. This has happened to me during numerous occasions when I do solo queue, so I give the killer a gg when I die and go about my day.

Killers definitely need a surrender mechanic. Survivors can suicide (most of the time) or just complete objectives so they have a lot more control over how long they stay in a toxic game. If a killer is getting trolled by a SWF team there's absolutely nothing they can do to end the game quicker, it's almost entirely in the hands of the survivors.

It's not just in the hands of the Survivors though, it's also in the hands of the killer. For the suicide on hook, there's not much the devs can do about it other than the survivor takes the de-pip and the other people go about their day. It's sad, but it's the truth. I won't say git gud, but you just gotta practice more, I am a Rank 20 killer getting put with red rank Survivors constantly, so I just have to practice more. There's only so much the devs can do at the moment.

Don't forget that the Survivor model itself blocks the reveal.

Oh, thanks for reminding me of that too, preciate it ^^

  • Not sure if this helps, but you need your survivor eyes trained on him, not just your camera. Must be within a 32 meter radius, also there is this trick where if he is crouched and you can only see half of his mask, you need to get up close and personal to knock him out

  • The reasoning behind this is because the cage of torment does not technically count as a hook, so that's why you don't get your tokens for it. it's the same thing with decisive strike not activating, borrowed time, we're going to live forever, and any other perks that has to do with the hook on both the Killer side and Survivor side.

  • @Roobnus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1505879#Comment_1505879

They can't do anything about third party softwares / devices but they can do something about the imbalance between solos and SWFs.

Even without voice communication a SWF team always has an advantage over solos because they're at least aware of the other players perks, experience/skill and playstyles/roles ect.

As solo you just get thrown in a team with 3 random players and you have no idea how competent they are.

I'm not saying that SWFs per default are stronger than any 4 solos but put those 4 solos in a SWF and they will certainly become a lot stronger than previously when they were actually solo and couldn't coordinate anything.

I said they couldn't do anything about a third party devices that relates to the communication. And yes, they do need to balance between solos and SWF, because say it is 4 solo survivors and they are really coordinated without communication, that isn't enough to compare to SWF like the devs said it was.

They didn't have any exact number for the statistics because they don't wanna touch on the SWF topic. It's because they'd probably lose a bit of players no matter what they did in fixing SWF to balance it in some way. But either way they will lose players because killers will leave with SWF the way it is, and solos will leave cuz they are unable to coordinate with the other solos and will possibly end up being killed because they have potato teammates crouched in the corner.

Obviously not all solo groups are like this, but a good chunk of them are.

And Dead Man's Switch so I can see if a survivor who WAS on a Gen, suddenly leaves it and figure out the route they're coming from, and surpise them. Downside to Dead Man's is I need to hook the Obsession, but it usually works well when 2 survivors decide to try save.

I always get SWF when I'm a killer and whatever... It's just friends having fun together.. I play with the same effort every match so it doesn't matter... Sometimes I kill everyone, sometimes not and sometimes everyone escapes and that's okay.. We cant win everytime.

The point I was trying to make in this post wasn't just to say survive with friends should be taken down completely that it's ruining the game, the point I was trying to make was sometimes the killer doesn't want to play against the survive with friends group all the time because they just want to play a normal game against solo queue.

Because, if they can communicate somehow without voicing their communication then good on them that's cool but when you're going against the survive with friends all the time they always have eyes on your location even if you don't know where they're at yourself.

I've played survive with friends sometimes myself, so I understand that I want to play with my friend sometimes and I just don't want to play killer, but when I do play killer and I go against that toxic survive with friends group it takes all the fun from the game that I was previously enjoying when I was just playing solo cues or I was playing a game as killer that I didn't have a survive with friends group.

and your missing the point... you don't know that a good chunk of the player base solos.. Most people when playing a game first go and convince their friend to play with them.. Imagine not having the option to play with friends on r6s, fornite, apex, cod etc... Ot would instantly turn away so many players...

Making matchmaking in a way do you don't have repeats is well and fine that's what behavior was trying to do with their matchmaking update..Spread out matchmaking in a way that allows more people in a pool.

You people continue to think in a narrow-minded fashion... The company themselves has no 1 bias..They will take the apprpoach that has the least blow back...

Removing coop is crippling and regardless of your personal opinion they will never consider the option of removing playing with friends because of the points i just stated.. So this whole post is pointless...

Literally does nothing besides start discord on a topic that has been argued since this games release

it wouldn't remove co-op as a whole though you're missing that point that I'm making like I said they should implement in matchmaking preference feature to where Killers would have the choice if they want to face off against the survive with friends that day. You don't understand that Killers have to go through this 24/7 in red ranks because bread rings can get super toxic with survive with friends on comms.

Because the second that you reach red ranks it's just filled with survive with friends whether it be a four-man, three-man, or even a two-man, yes you'll get the occasional group of solo cues but that's super rare but with a matchmaking preference feature implemented you would be able to choose "hey do I want to play against a survive with friends this day?"

So in the end it doesn't remove survive with friends as a whole it only adds in a matchmaking preference feature that way the killer can choose if they want to face off against survive with friends or not it won't kill the platform

  • @JustNxck said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1505920#Comment_1505920

    no

butcher a core feature of your game the ability to play coop with friends and turn away a good 50% of your playerbase, just to let your killers have a easier time

    or

leave the feature in and just allow your killers to be salty every now and then enough to complain on forums but they end up still playing your game...

Which sounds better for the company and the games longevity?

The only true win win option would be to remake the entire game but it would then become a different game entirely.

Now you are straw manning at this point, you're trying to justify your precious SWF when it is completely unfair with voice communication features. That is a group who has thrown together a combination of 16 perks just to suit their needs. Yeah, everyone knows SWF isn't getting a nerf anytime soon. But your argument is basically, "killers mains are salty they can't get their 4k" that's very few, some survivor mains would agree SWF is unfair.

I find playing against SWF incredibly boring. It isn't hard to beat them for me, since they're overly altruistic. Playing against them is incredibly boring gameplay-wise, but incredibly satisfying after. I'd rather face solo queue players, because it feels like I'm actually playing dbd.

And that's why the choice to opt out would be good, as stated before in a reply to @JustNxck a chunk of the player base is solos and wouldn't be as affected by a killer not wanting to play SWF, while the other chunk are SWF players. They can get used to playing solos, because I started this game by playing solos, it's not that hard. You can still get a win, hell even meet players who's better than your normal SWF group.

  • @JustNxck said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1505864#Comment_1505864

    r6s is 5v5

    5 rand vs 5 friends

is a lot less brutal than

    dbd

    1 v 5 friends

It's easier to communicate around 1 enemy...But at the same time you put a block on that or give killers an option to avoid that and it will definitely get abused and turn players away.

As for preventing playing against swf every game then sure why not? I mean as a killer i haven't had to play against swf teams back to back yet...Though i think xbox has had the new matchmaking for a bit where it's mixed ranks usually... so idk

That's not the point I was making, make matchmaking preferences, so killer doesn't have to play 4 man SWF every game, it's not fun for them. Some killers get satisfaction killing a toxic SWF, others don't. It's all a matter of other people's play styles. You say the game will be dead when killers opt out of SWF, it really won't be. A good chunk of the player base plays solos and others play SWF. If you wanna stop playing cuz you can't play with your friends, that's on no one but yourself.

  • Of course that's a liable option but some people don't like KYF since you don't get anything from it. Yes killers will opt out from playing SWF, but they are treating it as if all killers hate it. There are a fair bit of killers who don't mind it and get satisfaction from destroying the SWF.

  • @Roobnus said:

I often play with my friend who has maybe 200 hours in the game and I'd say we 3-4 man escape at least 50% of all matches we play in red ranks, probably even more.

The info we can give each other thanks to voice communication is huge, just yesterday we won a 2v1 with 3 gens left against a Pig on Lérys. At the start I keep the Killer busy for a while so 3 gens pop in no time, after that it's more or less "farming for Emblems and leave" unless the Killer starts to camp / tunnel.

So I think SWF can be very powerful but in the end it depends on the players and how they want to play the game. 4 solos that know what they're doing can be much stronger than 4 friends that just want to mess around a bit.

Of course SWF will always have the upper hand simply because of their ability to coordinate the plays thanks to voice communication.

Voice communication plays a big part, but they can't do anything about third party devices that have no relation in the game.

and which killer is gonna willingly opt in to make their life more miserable??

Basically making playing with friends impossible at mid to high ranks.

My point exactly. You guys really don't put much thought on to how your suggestions will affect the overall game all these bandaid suggestions will only hurt another part of the game.

I did put thought into it, make it like R6S with the matchmaking preferences, they always have to leave at least 2 things left which would obviously be solo queue and they have to pick one of the SWF choices, forces them to play against SWF, yes. But it also makes it to where they don't gotta go against 4 man every game

  • @JustNxck said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1505817#Comment_1505817

There's no way the game can detect "toxic players realistically" i mean the game has that thumbs up/down at post game and god knows if that works... Sure it sucks as someone who's purple rank killer and survivor the flaw lies within the game itself... There's no real way to fix that.

Obviously there's no "detect toxic players" mechanic, but what they could do for the game is if they all mass report it should go under investigation of some sort, and if it is found the killer was reported falsely, the survivors who reported should get a temp ban instead. Why should the killer or randoms not in the SWF be reported?

There's so many good builds to try, I wish you could save builds and swap em

    Look another complaint..

Reality of it is.. A team of friends in ANY game is always gonna be annoying to face...

It's not that though, they ruin the fun for almost everyone, and if one of them dies they all bombard you saying "you camped/slugged/tunneled" or the "you used every single in game hack" and mass report you. Why should killers be punished a toxic SWF group wants to be a bunch of #########.

Yes, because he can get the first hit very easily. I recommend running nurses with it, so you can do a hit and run playstyle.

    Sounds fun!!

It’s hardly bad, but I don’t consider it his strongest. It’s good for a few extra seconds of slowdown. The math for healing is sixteen seconds (plus twenty percent from mangled). If self caring, its doubled. So if three point two seconds is worth it to the killer, go for it.

The extra blood from hemorrhage is also useful for tracking.

And also thanks for letting me know, I will keep that in mind when I get more levels on him

My build is I’m All Ears, Pop Goes The Weasel, Brutal Strength, and BBQ n Chili.

I only play in solo queues because well i dont know of this thing you call friends...😁

But I don't think playing solo is as bad as some people make it out to be, i have however had team mates who just will not take any risks at all, but if there is even the slightest chance to pull it off i will always take the risk.

The only time i won't take any risk is when my team mate is put down and is getting taking to get hooked and i am on the other side of the map and know 100% that they are on death hook.. as by the time i get there it is already too late

so I replied except it didn't go through for some reason so I'm just going to say what I said again, but I know what you mean about taking risks because I was doing solo queue about a week ago and the killer had brought no one escapes death and they were two people on hook and we were all on Hawkins laboratory. I ended up going for the save before the totem even been found. someone messaged me after the game saying I was a real one because I went for the save when the other person just kind of dipped out.

So you tell me SWF is not common, but some people actually never solo queue? Hmm...!

I never said Survivor friends isn't, nor was I trying to make that point, my point was that you won't always get stuck with potato teammates you actually might get really good teammates who are able to coordinate really well without having any form of communication between everyone
