  • Repeating myself here but... in my region the immature trolling griefer style players intentionally play her in the most unpleasant and toxic ways possible, as they know she is already hated so they get maximum troll value ensuring every match against her is miserable.

I have no way of knowing if the SM player has good intentions and the reality is they almost all are toxic and intentionally unfun to play against

  • One of the big problems with SM, at least in my region, is that the immature troll type players gravitate to her as they know she is already hated. They play her in the most toxic and unfun ways intentionally and almost every match I have played has been like this.

Do I understand her power? Honestly... no, not really. Do I want to? Also, no not really.

  • If forget the name but the one for Myers to Mori 4x with the Tombstone addon.

It is painfully frustrating and back before bots I had survivors literally DC to deny me the achievement and besides that I think the Tombstone addons are incredibly unfun and should not be in the game anyway.

  • Yeah but I am not looking forward to seeing the same killer over and over as happens with every DLC release.

I buy all of them either way, maybe not for months if I am on a DBD break but eventually they get my money

  • They probably have a lot of other stuff they want to put resources into updating so I am gonna guess SM is way down the list. She requires almost a complete redesign imo or she will continue to be top killer due to everyone mysteriously dying first hook and the go-to killer for trolls wanting to irritate others

  • I don't agree and I was one who consistently stated that Windows is perfectly fine as it is but I have changed my mind a bit to feel that perhaps it gives a bit too much info with literally no downside or any requirements to get value from it. I personally stopped using Windows as a survivor as it feels like a crutch more than anything

Zanshin is niche and should stay that way imo so for me that is a definite no on that.

  • I find full slowdown builds to be incredibly tedious to verse, since doing gens is the most boring part of playing survivor.

It is even worse on the S tier killers where it is entirely unnecessary too but people can run what they want I suppose but it does make for drawn out bore-fest matches

No, it's a bad perk. I can only see this perk being useful on maps like Hawkins and lery's.

It's pretty much unusable on Lery's as surprisingly there are far more crows than you would think for an indoor map and you just get endless noise making it close to impossible to hear anything else.

  • It is hard to avoid the nostalgia of when you started the game and I am no different here. I started Jan 2019 and my best memories of DBD were back then, Monto and No0b3 were riding high, the Coldwind realm maps were all at night, there was no SM or Knight etc and Urban was still kinda meta as you didn't want to get caught in a Hag match without it right?

Though a lot of things are far better in modern DBD so if I had to make a second choice I would say current year (just the tunnelling is a bit much these days).

That begs the question - do you really think it is justified to put 3 (!!) Perk-Slots to have a moderate chance against a tunneling Killer? It is not like using OTR, DH and DS will stop the Killer from tunneling, it just makes it harder. Plus, you only have one DS, so for the second Unhook you have OTR and DH, which are negated by just a single hit.

This is using multiple bandaids for something which should not require bandaids at all.

True but I guess DBD is bandaid stacked upon bandaid to compensate for inherent imbalances in asymmetrical games along with the problems so many perks introduce to complicate things.

I am up for any solutions to the hard tunnelling issue, though I think increasing the DS stun to 5 seconds is an easy band aid in the meantime

DS back to 5 seconds would not do much. 5 second-DS kept tunneling in place a few years ago, but since then Killers learned that tunneling is way better than going for fresh chases. And 2 extra seconds would not change that, it is still way better to tunnel out the unhooked Survivor instead of going for another Survivor, who might even be healthy.

Let alone that they would only need to eat 1 DS anyway.

So while I dont think that they will add more to DS than a slight increase of stun duration (and I doubt it will be back to 5 seconds, will go up to 4 I guess), this would not really help anything.

I disagree, at least for players who have some level of competency with looping.

Sure if someone is an inexperienced weak player, DS is not going to do much to help them. But if a few more seconds is the difference between making it to a loop/pallet/window then it could add a lot more time to a chase for a killer, which is a big deterrent to tunnelling imo. Add OTR or DH to the picture and it makes tunnelling very unappealing

I really want to see tunnelling made incredibly difficult in DBD, I feel it hurts the game long term

The last sentence you wrote is what I disagree with heavily. Why? Because it’s mean? News flash we are playing the role of the killer we’re not playing Mother Teresa simulator

No but what you are playing is a game that involves four other humans, all who should be able to have a fun experience that isn't ruined because someone wants an easy match by hard tunnelling them out of the game.

It is a complete lack of empathy and consideration for others to continually tunnel what are often inexperienced casual players. It is also very unhealthy for DBD as people who continually are subjected to this will ultimately end up leaving the game if they consistently have a negative experience.

  • DS definitely needs a buff, return it to 5 seconds and that is all it needs.

As it currently is, it is essentially useless and a wasted perk slot against Billy, Nurse or Blight and even M1 killers if you are not fortunate enough to get use next to a pallet or window so you can at least gain distance.

Tunnelling needs to be punished more not less

  • I am OCE region and I don't see it that often but I have been playing on NA servers quite a lot lately and I must say you guys have a lot more shameless tunnelling than we do, so I can see if you are in NA you may feel tunnelling is out of control.

I really hope BHVR does start to deal with this, comp players say it will ruin comp but I do not care what they want as they are not the majority of the playerbase.

Tunnelling should be made very difficult to get an advantage from, as it ruins the game for so many casuals

does that apply to all end game perks?

i still think gens should get done in most of the games if both sides are of equall skill and therefore endgame perks are absolutly valid the game is over when the survs pass the escape boarder not a second before that

No, if you are running a complete end game build obviously not.

Either way, it doesn't worry me personally I just think it is a crutch that doesn't do killers learning the game any favours. If a killer is really bad and struggles to get a single down, I prepare myself for the inevitable NOED and 9 times out of 10 they will indeed have NOED.

  • @Starrseed said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3671246#Comment_3671246

thats the wrong mindset. noed is not a reward for failing to protect gens its a end game perk its designed to only work at the end and pls remember in a normal game where both sides have the same skill lvl and expirience the gens should get finished.

if the gens dont get finished that means the the diffrence between the survivor skill and the killer skill was to big.

where does that sentiment come from anyway? do people want all games to be either a 4k or a 4e cause the same logik come into play when people talk about adrenalin (no i dont have a problem with that perk) and people say "well dont let them finish gens then" its like people want stomp fests

No that is exactly what it is, you are going into the match with the expectation that you will fail to pressure gens and they will all be done and THAT is the wrong mindset.

I agree, I've found NA to be pretty chill as well. But just like here in OCE it can vary from game to game.

Yeah for sure, one thing I will say about NA is the shameless tunnelling is a lot more common than OCE. But overall the matches are lot more relaxed for sure

  • The main issue with NOED is it is often a crutch for less experienced killers, other than that I have no issue with NOED now since they nerfed it a bit. I do think it is a cheap perk that rewards failure to protect gens but there are far more problematic things in DBD imo

  • I never liked this map for both sides tbh, it is my least favourite of the indoor maps

Unbreakable has been a permanent stable of my build for a-hole killer players like this. It pairs well with Inner Strength to get a quick and hidden heal and can turn the match around.

I just wish there was a built in practice mode against AI killers for survivors that taught them how to loop. Would make SoloQ much better.

Yeah I actually agree and as far as a practice mode for survivors, I realise it would not be possible for all killers but for a basic M1 like Trapper I am sure they could make some decent AI.

I have actually played the tutorial surviving with bots many times (trying to get decent FPS on my stupid laptop so I can play on that too) and while it is perfectly adequate for the purpose of a tutorial, Trappers AI leaves a lot to be desired.

But if you remember the cheating Spirit AI streamers that were doing the rounds a while back, it seems BHVR are more than capable of making an AI training option that would present a challenge

I have said the same thing in the past. Someone brought this point up after having a killer dancing around and performing rude gestures. Allowing them a way out after an established time would fix this.

Yeah I don't know why we are forced to endure 4 minutes of BM when the match is clearly over...

  • @I_CAME said:

Are you on NA east by any chance? There is a wraith on NA East who literally does nothing but send people to RPD and slug with knock out. It will keep happening until Behavior does something about this.

This happens in all regions I think, we have Nurses or Dr's that do the same thing every game. I think when all four of you are slugged you should have an option to concede the match so you can go next rather than waste 4 minutes unable to actually play the game

Same, I have friends I play with from OCE to NA and the ping is atrocious, but sometimes it can get in good plays. I've had ping be both my enemy and my friend in the same match and it was the most hilarious thing I have ever witnessed. I wish I had been recording at the time.

I find NA is a lot more chill than OCE too, people here play like they are in a tournament a lot of the time. Plus we just get Billy over and over of late.

Yeah the ping is pretty bad but I had just as bad back before dedicated servers came out, it is playable you just cant greed pallets etc. I have asked killers if I am lagging and they mostly say I am not, though I have been hit from half a mile away a few times lol

But abusing ping as killer is a whole different topic in itself

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

The funny thing is, Unbreakable does not help with that kind of games. I mean, it rarely gives value anyway, Unbreakable is really niche, but CAN be strong in certain scenarios. But the scenario where a Killer decides to slug the full team is not one of them. Because you will most likely not be able to pick everyone up before they or you are slugged again.

In fairness, no you're actually right in those scenarios. But it CAN work to change the course of a match however yeah, I slugging Knockout Nurse that intends to bleed out everyone for 4 minutes is not really counterable 99% of the time. Should be a justifiable reason to go next too but that is a whole different discussion...

  • They probably wont as the Chinese market probably spends quite a bit of money and they all have to VPN to access the rest of the world.

I use ExitLag to play on NA West Coast from Australia which give me 170ms ping but I only play survivor as killer would be pretty unfair.

It's a difficult perk to decide on, but there have been many matches where it actually helped. If you decide to turn things around, you are a hero!

I only solo queue so I have found Kindred, Unbreakable and We'll Make It all to be massive help in solo queue games.

That being said, I have died on first hook multiple times WITH KINDRED in solo queue... :/

  • I know it isn't really a solution to people playing like this... but I started running unbreakable every game lately. You don't get unbreakable value every match but when you do it really can be a game changer

  • I would be very surprised if all the buffs on the PTB make it to live servers. But either way, I am honestly not sure why they decided to buff Huntress anyway and even Huntress main friends viewed this as a bit of a '#########... why?' decision

  • If you are being looped for 3 - 4 gens your killer play is not great, MMR is screwing you and you are making bad decisions as you should be dropping chase well before that.

Pretty sure matchmaking gives priority to finding faster matches over accurate matchmaking too.

  • I am SO GLAD they don't as he is VERY annoying, I am glad I rarely see Trickster or Twins as I find both very unfun to verse.

I do not enjoy playing him either and I only played him to P3 him and do all his achievements then I was glad I could never touch this vile creature again

  • I don't see that many but I totally understand it when a killer is sweating like they're in a tournament slugging, camping and tunnelling at 5 gens and I have no problem if they want to move on to the next match in those cases.

However there are those who you just cannot keep happy and they will leave a match on first hook/DC for reasons I struggle to figure out. Not sure how you can account for those ones either tbh

  • Depends as healing under the hook is generally a stupid idea but many survs insist on doing this even when it is clearly a bad idea.

That being said, I am a solo queue Andy so I always run We'll Make It and it does drive me nuts when team mates want to run to Narnia or outright refuse to take a speedy heal.

I get wanting to hammer out gens but I will always accept a We'll Make It heal after being unhooked

  • This can go both ways though, I get killers having a cry post game about this and that and all I can really tell them is they just need to get better at the killer they are playing and to understand we all get completely ######### on when we are learning a killer or we face better opponents.

  • Gotta be honest, I kinda dread new chapters as it means I will be facing the same killer over and over and over again.

It is the main reason I cant really stand Wesker, after his chapter came out I get them constantly for months on end to the point I audibly groaned when I would hear his music and longed for even a sweaty Blight/Nurse just for some variety.

    So no, not particularly lol

  • Legion is a cheap killer imo... you get cheap hits/free injures you do not really earn and that survivors have very little chance to avoid.

To balance that Legion has nothing much else going for them so while you get free cheap shots, you still have to win chases which is a problem for some.

I find the mending aspect of Legion very tedious to verse but I find a lot of them are bad in chase which makes them tolerable. If my team mates continually heal I tend to want get out of that match ASAP though

  • I wasn't even going to comment on this as I wasn't thinking it doesn't happen that much... but just now I went into a couple of solo queue games and myself and a team mate had a gen blow up THREE TIMES when we changed position due to a Huntress trying to snipe us off it. It was an important mid gen so we were greeding it and we did not get to finish it because it gave us skill checks the second we got off to dodge a hatchet

I just had another match and barely got any gen progress since I took most of the aggro but even then I still had the gen I did work on blow up when I got off it.

So yeah, maybe I just haven't been paying attention but it almost feels like they made this more likely to happen than in the past?

When players go on long win streaks I don't believe for a second they're beating top notch survivors every single game.

Anyone who has played killer for more than a minute knows that the majority of the survivors they verse range from average to terrible and last maybe 10 seconds in chase. You know when you are facing the 1% though those matches are the minority as most killers will win most of their matches.

Honestly I don't think win streaks are very impressive either for the most part, I think any of us with a decent amount of experience could do our own win streaks if we are fine with running the sweatiest builds, playing the sweatiest we can including tunnelling out survivors and picking on weak links.

I personally don't want to play matches with people like this

  • I play anon and I don't care if others don't like that, as it avoids toxic weirdos for the most part as griefing the anon doesn't seem as appealing to them for some reason.

I will also dodge a lobby if my team mates were idiots previously and this does not include DC's or going next on hook unless they do it consistently. But I have no time for people that want to behave like little children in game and I would rather wait longer to find a normal match

  • @Caiman said:

I wish both sides would stop using the top 5% of players to justify nerfing the other 95%.

    Totally agree with this!!

I heard a well known streamer saying if BHVR nerfed the ability of killers to hard tunnel out survivors it would kill comp and I was thinking.... who cares?!

Most of the player base are not comp level players and I can only speak for myself but I personally have had many solo queue matches ruined by 'comp' players who play like they are in a tournament against 4 random casual solo players.

I literally do not care about balancing a single aspect of the game for this tiny segment of the DBD player base

  • As a former Nurse main, I must say that seeing certain streamers (who I have nothing against btw) going on 1000+ win streaks confirms to me that this character is still broken, as 1000 wins should not be possible.

That being said, the people I see with massive win streaks are also running the sweatiest perks and addons and I don't really see no addon streaks that last long.

Overall I think streaks are unhealthy for DBD in general and I would like to see this kind of thing discouraged

  • Oh gotcha, funny thing is I was a Nurse main for years but I stopped playing her a long time ago as she feels broken and borderline unfair, particularly in public lobbies against solo survivors. So it seems I am well out of date with her changes as I stopped caring... interesting though, I learned something new today thanks

  • @Devil_hit11 said:

indirect nurse nerf because all nurses use fragile wheeze.

Huh? Sloppy doesn't work on blink attacks anyway?

Funny though I saw a Nurse the other day running Sloppy and Jolt, so I guess I found someone less up to date with changes than I am lmao

  • @sizzlingmario4 said:

It's not a rumor, Sloppy (and Mangled in general) is getting a nerf in the next chapter release, this is the description from the PTB:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/9NA5YZS0YFE2/sloppy-tier-3-new-png.png

Basically it just expires after 90 seconds now instead of lasting indefinitely until healed, but otherwise it is the same as the current version.

Oh I see thanks, well I guess that is something but I would like to see it nerfed further tbh. But I will take it I guess

  • I would take that option!

I very much miss the golden night skies of the old Coldwind maps and I was absolutely gutted when I saw the new maps were daytime maps :(

  • No issue with the map, it is big to patrol but has some fairly mind-game-able pallets linking areas so I think it is mostly balanced

  • Most killer sided of the Coldwind maps but I don't think it needs any major changes other than PLEASE go back to a night time aesthetic! You killed the vibe making them daytime maps :(

  • I am a solo queue enjoyer and while solo queue can be infuriating, if you can find a way to cope with the frustrations I think the absolute random nature of it can make it a lot of fun.

Love or hate it, there is no other game quite like DBD and it is one of those games where I sit down to play an hour or two and next thing the sun is coming up!

  • Purely aesthetic... please go back to night setting like the old coldwind maps! Otherwise I think they are good and the balance is a lot fairer. Please do NOT add weird tiles like the new maps as these old school ones are liked for a reason - they are fun!

  • No I am not saving a bot in endgame. I will save them to farm them for points before end game and honestly sometimes bots can be better than the solo queue player they replaced... but I will not die to save a bot.

  • It doesn't matter how much assistance you throw at some players, it will not help them regardless.

I always play solo and the decision making of so many survivors is highly questionable and often so bad their misplays lose us the game more than the killer being amazing.

You can tell who is experienced/good by the decisions they make imo and most of the survs I get queued up with make bad decisions and appear clueless (not saying I don't make stupid mistakes myself).
