I'm optimistic about all the changes, expect I think the Skull Merchant needs a 5th drone so she always has a Power in chase. regardless of how organized the opponents are. Its just great to see bHVR take action.
I agree a 5th drone with these changes would be better.

Well - sometimes it is just one, usually two, but often enough I can get all four with Dead Hard.
I've just taken the stance that I mess around and stop playing - it's bad enough they act like they took a hit getting distance while I stand there wiping blood off my weapon - and often save the pallet. So I get nothing for all my effort = I'm not putting any more effort into that match.

You missed the next category of: Then you got killers who play normally
I think he already covered those in the second sentence - those are the killers who lose.

Pretty much - some people think it's heroic or something to keep up the struggle, and make sure everyone dies with them.
For a handful of points.

LOL - Please tell me this is a joke.
He's actually right - need to focus on that little skill check to the exclusion of all else now while you could just tap a key yet keep track of surroundings.

the point of wiggling is to prevent getting put in the basement. not to escape a killer's grasp every time.
That's the thing - it doesn't even prevent that from nearly half a map away.

I've seen clutch grabs off injured survivors with it, but that's about it.
Maybe so he doesn't just fly out the gate with the survivor and escape too - now that would be funny.
-
He just chose the game's easy mode is all.
-
She probably has the lowest kill rate only because most of her games result in DC which are tossed out in their stats.

Killers wanted easier games, you got easier games.

I remember this discussion on here a while back, but killers thought it would be too unfair for them to patrol two entrances.
Yeah, I read that as empowering camping. Which is ironic being that is a pretty unfair tactic.

How hard is it to move to another gen and ones been kicked?
Generators are targets of opportunity - move around meaning risking drawing aggro and it can be down right hard just 'moving' to another gens in some maps. Besides, quite often you need that gen to prevent a little something called a 3-gen which this perk helps make something like that strong even stronger.

eruption has a counter. If you know someone is injured and going to go down soon, get off the gen, the same way you counter painres
lol
Hear that guys - just know when they are going down. If you don't I guess you just do nothing next to a gen while someone is injured or everyone is exposed. Take longer than the 25 seconds.

It's the Camper.
I'm scared of being bored to death.

How does it not ruin my games? There is literally no challenge involved in that game after that. I play this game for the challenge and to get better at it. If they had a string bad games and are willing to just go next after first down, then they didn't really want to play and shouldn't be allowed to get out for free just to ruin another game. Do not play the game if you are willing to hook suicide after your first down. And yes it's fair to waste their time when they are wasting my free time as well. They can DC if they want out or even afk if they are having real life problems. I literally have no idea how people defend this. It's not a fantasy to ask for people to play the game after they hit ready, it's expected. They know what's in the game, they know what to expect.
While I understand that stance as I share it - many of your fellow killers felt otherwise. Now we have mostly easy games that any mouth breather can 4k. However, since it is survivor they cannot know what to expect each match...so this is the only way they can have a shot at interesting matches, since they have 0 queue time now.
Enjoy the new normal.
-
In one word 'Eruption'.
-
Ayup.
-
How else are they going to artificially inflate the kill rates if they don't cripple survivor's ability to defend themselves decently?
-
Someone who doesn't appreciate the drive by thumb's up.
I don't know what to say.

he explained why he plays for kills. its because the game for killer is not balanced for hooks. if he plays for hooks, he is playing the game in its imbalanced state. Eruption tries to balance the game for hooks by rewarding the killer for downing the survivor. The issue is that kicking generator is secondary objective for the killer. Secondary objectives are not helpful towards a role that lacks time. Ultimately, the majority of killer powers are balanced around the killer getting a low amount of hooks which is why he disagrees with developer's obsession on balancing off the kill statistic because kill statistic does not accurately represent the killer's gameplay.
Tired of the argument "if you do X then they will stop doing Y and do Z instead" logic. They don't. They keep doing Y with even more power to back it up. It assumes that the perk as is will cause the killer to play for hooks. That's rarely the case - they still will play for kills anyway they can, and this makes it more op for that.

because you can still easily loose if you play with "honor". Sometimes situations force you to do unfun but effective things in order to have chances of winning. This is valid for both sides btw
Yep, guess it says a lot about most people when 'honor' gets thrown out the window soon as the chips are down.

Single player DBD...wow, that is...boring. Bots will always behave in a predictable manner.

The question is though, does killer “having it better today” mean that the game is now killer sided as some people like to claim? Or does it mean that in the past playing killer could be quite a miserable experience and only in recent times is killer more enjoyable?
I answered that question siding that the answer is very subjective.
-
I play survivor mostly these days, but started out killer and do play it quite often. I also got to rank 1 killer many times back when it took some effort to do so and real insta heals, pallet vacuums, "infinites" and what not were still a thing.
Overall imo killer has had it much better today than ever in the past.
Is one side better than the other, like the joe above me said in so many words, that is highly subjective - and in most cases stating one is stronger than the other is meaningless.

Some Killers are the proplayers of Schrodinger, they want to curbstomp and get 4K easily but at the same time want to feel challenged while doing so.
Before Solo was thrown under the bus when someone suicided/DCd a lot of Killers usually gloated about "thanks for the free win" and "Im not responsible for your fun" but after 6.1 when suicides became a mass ocurrence and a problem (especially against especially busted stuff like Nurse) a lot started to complain they are bored because their wins have no substance and after a ~5 minute wait they get a 2 minutes game they feel let down and decide to punish the offender wasting their time (or not, maybe the guy went AFK and is eating a sandwich in the kitchen while bleeding out).
Now they want a challenge and you are responsible for my fun.
it's all just circles, so pointless, you will never solve the problem treating the symptoms
You are so damn right, I wish BHVR started treating the problems instead of symptons with pointless perk band-aids or penalties.
This is so true - many killers on this forum stated in the past they are not responsible for survivor's fun, so they justify all sorts of tactics that end up squelching any fun the opposite side might have. So when survivors pick up their marbles and go play somewhere else they complain...again.
-
Kind of like how stacking all those perks and add-ons will let them win the majority of time, much like how killers can stack slowdown perks and add-ons that let them win the majority of time.
Weird how that works.
-
Probably far above 70%, people are just dying in droves now. Guess that's what they wanted.
-
It would be nice.
It would also be nice if event crap didn't appear in chests... I do not love finding firecrackers (when that event is active) when I'm really looking for something useful, like a med kit or key.

Better stop sharing it before bhvr takes it away from us.
They can't otherwise Steam would like to have a few words with them and my bet is on Steam.
-
Yeah just had a game where I took a hit for someone and aggro with 3 of us still left in the game.
Guess who got to die on first hook.
-
Omg - how's your clicking finger? Is it okay, no permanent damage?
Personally I would simply die of boredom if I had to go to P100 clicking all those nodes. That's a lot of click and holds.
-
Hm, those bots are more realistic than I thought they would be.
-
"killer queues have been way too long for the past weeks"
Unfortunately they can make people want to quit, but they can't make people want to play.
-
Haddie. Not even worth unlocking, her perks are so mediocre.
-
In swf they can shout out when they are about to go down - who else not on comms is supposed to be able to react to this perk?
In soloq there's basically no way to counter it without psychic powers - then not only do you cannot do anything for 25 seconds (again devastating in soloq), you get to scream out your location on top of it. And this trap lasts until the gen regresses fully (I believe) - least other gen trap like perks expire or have a very long cool down, or both.
A serious buff to progression loss would be good compensation.

Again, passive aggressively assuming I tunnel or camp ever. Even if it's not directed towards me It doesn't matter. Most of the problematic suicides are on stage one. Generally one of the first 2 survivors after they get downed. They simply don't want to play vs someone better than them and go next. But going next like that without penalty shouldn't exist.
Well for the record it wasn't directed at anyone it was a general statement, but I understand many like to think everything is about them.

Maybe he wants a real game??? Killer's want survivor's to not dc because it ruins our game as much as the other survivors playing. Always gotta make it an us vs them bit.
If there was a real game - most people wouldn't suicide. I don't come across this problem much when I play killer - but then I don't play like a dick either.
-
This anonymous mode is pretty strange to even have anyway. I think on consoles I read they cannot do it because if violates some rules or some such.
On Steam it only partially keeps you anonymous since you can just look up the recent players list and deduce who the 'anon' is right quick. If someone on Steam really wanted to be anon they could just private their profile and change their in game name whenever it suits them.
So this entire feature seems pointless.
-
See this statement that she's a weak killer and has to play this way doesn't add up for me. Usually going for condemnation kills they end up slugging everyone so many times that they would have easily killed the survivors had they just hooked them instead. But no, they keep slugging to play for those condemnation kills which drags the match out. And those mini moris are frankly underwhelming anyway.

Why is there a censor? Because some words are absolutely henious and can never be justified.
Why is this censor so draconian? Absolutely no clue, but it's terribly designed tbh and lets through actual swear words while blurring out 'gg yun-jin you did well' to '## ####### you did ####'.
Yeah it's so bad that ironically it makes good or positive statements seem like they were toxic ones.
-
Depends - OP might not tunnel, but there are many out there who do tunnel, and they tunnel the hell out of the hook.
OTR is not always enough.
BT is pretty useful end game - you know, after they decided it was a good idea to disable most all other defense perks when the gates are powered - like OTR and DS. Even during the early game not everyone brings OTR - so doubling that endurance buff to make that basement exit can be welcome.

Lol at asking for nerfs to the worst killer in the game
Not asking for nerfs - asking for a better way.
-
Just hold shift (run) while slugged - it's usually faster to bleed out after 4 minutes than deal with this agonizing slow style of play.
Then if she hooks you - well, you do what you got to do.
But - this may all change with the new anti-slug mechanics coming along.
-
It makes Sadako extremely annoying and boring just dragging out a match for far beyond what it should be for crap mini moris.
-
DS was perfectly balanced before the update.

I've seen it 100% for killer

Survivors must've been saying hello to me after every dropped pallet and at the exit gates too, then. How quaint.
They were probably just saying thank you at the end.
Survivors are often misunderstood creatures. /nod
-
They are just saying hello.
Ever hear of the saying an eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind?
-
Yeah aura reads are pretty much 30 seconds apart - which would point to Object of Obsession
but from your screenshot, guess it was MoM he was just getting out of that 16m range to you and he stays visible.
-
It should make for a faster moving game. While slugging is a 'legitimate' tactic as some call it - it's still alongside camping/tunneling where it detracts from the quality of the game putting too much power into a one individual's hands to force a match into a boring experience.
You want to kill people - put them on the hook like god intended.
Also helps make up for the all those EGC kills we've been enjoying these past couple years imo.
